Room Service Please |
I am in maybe 'shock' of the attitude some have coming from other countries asking for their care, their children's care and a place to live. To me that would be same as going to the Waldorf Astoria and telling them to give me a room with room service and that I will have that room for an unlimited amount of time for free!
Demanding "room service" is when you have paid a price for the room in my case, my parents bought the house, so I could not declare a demand on......well, anything really! They had bought my clothes and even the luggage to pack when going to Grandms's house for a visit. They bought the car and a pickup used for farm work. They also paid for my lunches at school, the new shoes on feet and the bed I slept in. My husband and I had watched One America News this morning and heard of the demand by people declaring their rights to come into this nation and it was expected that the US would take care of all their needs including that of their children. What?
Within the book of Luke of the New Testament, we find the birth of Christ Jesus. In this writing, we are told it was a time when Caesar Augustus gave a decree that all the world should be registered. (Luke 2:1) So all had gone out to be registered, everyone to their own city.
Joseph took Mary his wife with him to the city of David which is called Bethlehem. In Luke 2 and verse 7 she brought forth her firstborn Son and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
(she did not demand medical care)
At this time of Jesus Christ's birth, Herod had heard from the wise men of the East of a coming king. Herod heard of the Star that led them to the place of His birth and calling Him the King of the Jews, Herod was troubled as well as was those of the city of Jerusalem. Now when these wise men showed up was about two years from Jesus' birth. And after the visit from the wise men, Joseph had a dream warning him to go to Egypt.
Matthew 2:13-15 NKJV Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, "Arise, take the young child and His mother, flee to Egypt and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him." 14 When the arose, he took the young Child and His mother by night and departed for Egypt.15 and was there until the death of Herod, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, "Out of Egypt I called My Son."
Matthew 2:19-23 NKJV 19 Now when Herod was dead, behold an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, 20 saying, "Arise take the young child and His mother, and go to the land of Israel, for those who sought the young Child's life are dead." 21 Then he arose, took the young Child and His mother, and came into the land of Israel. 22 but when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea instead of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. And being warned by God in a dream, he turned aside into the region of Galilee. 23 And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, "he shall be called a Nazarene."
No where do you see anyone making a demand on a place to live, a handout or otherwise? Joseph and Mary knew their responsibility. Their family responsibilities were not on anyone else. They did not flaunt their Child to others. They had a relationship with God and God directed their steps!
So too, God will direct our steps. Giving Him our time throughout the day, from the early morning light to the dim light of night, we should rally around Him, His word and find the direction He is pointing us toward for tomorrow. But today many just throw caution to the wind, take up their small ones and head out not knowing anything! One should not go willy-nilly into the world. Haphazard living is dangerous for anyone!
Today is nothing like say it was some forty years ago. It is certainly a far cry from the days of seeing families growing together, spending quality time together, and even attend church together. In this is a willingness of heart to grow as a family, to know each member of the family and then have a willingness to care for them as parents.
No, today people blame prosecution and affliction as problems. They blame absentee fathers, absentee mothers and others so as to take responsibility for their lives. And I know in some third world countries there is no active truth or right for those living there. But praying to the One true God always works for those who believe, that is have faith in the One true God and expect an answer from Him. Ask any missionary who has gone overseas of the prosecution and the malice they faced. Did not our Savior Jesus Christ also face such malice and affliction even on the day of the Cross and crucifixion?
There are many today looking for room service!
They are those raised without both parents and without the firm teaching of the Father figure, the child succumbs to the ways of the world. Making demands helps no one.
Colossians 3:20 Children obey your parents in all things, for this is welling pleasing to the Lord. 21 Fathers do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged. NKJV
Proverbs 13:1 A wise son hears his father's instructions; but scorner hears not rebuke.
Proverbs 1:10;15-16 NKJV 10 My son, if sinners entice you, Do not consent. 15 My son, do not walk in the way with them, keep your foot from their path. 16 For their feet run to evil, and they make hast to shed blood.
Proverbs 22:24-25 NKJV 24 Make no friendship with an angry man, and with a furious man do not go, 25 Lest you learn his ways, and set a snare for your soul.
Joseph in regard to his family reverenced God to hold his family together and understand God was watching for the care of the Christ child to come to growth and leadership in His adult years. It was not by demanding, but was by obeying God and His truths.
Let us understand this: that through skillful and godly wisdom is a home built and that of our lives and that of our family. We are to established from the babe to the young adult in the wisdom and sound foundation of God. By knowledge, will all the chambers of its every area be filled with all precious and pleasant riches----great priceless treasure. (That means our hearts revealed in our lives)
The house of the uncompromisingly righteous shall stand. Prosperity and welfare are established in those committed to God and His favor. In the fear of the Lord is the home securely built. founded on a rock of revelation knowledge of the Word of God, Jesus is our Cornerstone. Jesus is Lord over our hearts, our marriage and our family. In this home, we are love revealed. For in the God kind of love we dwell in peace. Our home is deposited into the charge of Almighty God entrusted into His care and protection.
For me and my house we shall serve the Lord!
We must see the boundaries set for ourselves, our families and homes. The boundary must be set for those who reverence God, a nation under God ........and for liberty and justice that is of
God and from God. It is not by demands for our way, being self absorbed is one who hates others for who they are and for what they have. Self rule is a bad thing. Self rule is the rule outside of God and one which affects our spiritual walk of faith in Him. It will also affect the moral, social and physical walk as well!
If we really know the narrow path has a"narrow gate" then we will be those with the "violent determination" to continue in the faith walk. It is being determined to not allow the flesh creature to lust but to stay within the parameters of God's word for us. In His provision for safety, we see growth revealed in a disciplined life. It is of a ruler-ship of ONE RULE and that is under God's rule and His management.
Within that we take our place, know our steps are secure and ordered in peace where justice from God reigns. Amen.
