Running to the House

 

Was thinking in the days of my youth, we as children in our pre-teen years would walk down to the river on my uncle’s farm. We had heard all the snake stories where the bulldog Mustard was bitten several times in his lifetime but always lived to see another snake in the river. Besides all that, it was fun to walk or even run to the river’s edge to have talks of what our summer would be like that year. Anticipation filled our speaking as our future in the sun and fun without school was good! ( we thought)

And we would finish that walk to the river either by seeing one of our cousins take a swing off the rope to land perfectly with a big splash that centered in the river. Cheering him back to shore we watched to see any movement toward the waves of the water and when seeing none, our voices tired of speaking of summer events to come, we ran with a force back to the house. Now our hearts were set on the hot cookies that would be coming out of that hot oven. Running meant we would see who could run the fastest and who would reach those fresh baked cookies just out of the oven.

Running to the house takes a different meaning for especially me today. Running is like seeing the Apostle Paul do all the wrong things to close his life doing all the better things in God. He a leader with certain garments giving voice to his calling, still in the later days, he would do the speaking with Holy Spirit leading to do right and fulfill the Father’s promise in his life. He would find himself still speaking of the Lord, the Gospel and His salvation but find himself behind bars.

In one teaching we hear Paul arriving at 1 Thessalonians 5. And it is here the apostle Paul urges the saints to reorganize those who labored among them. Dealing with  “problem brothers: included the unruly with irresponsible behavior, to comfort the faint-hearted, to uphold the weak: those who were spiritually weak and give support to those weak in the faith…….and of course to be patient with all.

We are told in verse 19 to not quench the spirit! And this meant to not stifle the work of the Holy Spirit. Limiting Him is stifling Him. Adhering to the traditions of men is stifling the Holy Spirit. Keeping up with man-made rules is again stifling Him, the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit should have full access through our spiritual frame: giving of praise, being prayerful, being thankful and the teachable keeps us in that justice of God and lights our way into His truth keeping and to avoid evil.

Even here the apostle was running to the house. It is the house of our Father God of where he ran!

We still walk to the River. No not the river called the Leon River in Texas. We no longer plan our summer events, but expect Him to appear before us. We run not for the cookies though they tasted really good, but we run for the best place before Him. We run to see His face and experience His presence. (I can smell His fragrance even now.) We run to reach Him when we hear Him speak, to hear His voice and pronounce His blessing. To hear Him give life to that which barely moves, to give life to see with new eyes and hear His peace and experience His love over our lives in a truly evil world.

We have His guiding personage in the Holy Spirit. And by Him, we reject evil today. We reject that which tries to speak it needs our support. No we support the truth of God, to know God and have revelation knowledge of Him. Our purpose God placed in us, that anointing is available every minute and also available to us to know the evil of Satan and his plans and tactics to destroy man.

 May we not be weak, no backbone people, but be the strong in the Lord and in the power of His might, and that we are more than conquerors through Him. He conquered death, hell and the grave and chose life and not death. We chose to walk in His light and resist darkness for the Lord returns and He will find faith on the earth. (Luke 18:8)

My Redeemer lives. He was wounded for my transgressions, He was bruised for my iniquities. The chastisement for my peace was upon Him, and by His stripes  I am healed. He reaches from the cross to take me with Him. He reaches with blood on His hands for taking our sins. He reaches with a thorny crown and shows me His revealed crown of glory. In His reach is nothing but love. In His reach is nothing but wisdom of God and His great peace! In His reach is a consuming fire of brilliance  revealing love from above but not to consume you or me.  But of Him we are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God----and righteousness and sanctification and redemption-----He who glories, let him glory in the Lord.

We run to the store for an article, a food maybe or paper for schoolwork. We run down to the bank for that deposit or we run to pick up the kids or granddaughter at the park. People in their everyday living have that run on the mind, never thinking of God or the Son of His love. We bask in weak stuff, forgetting the mighty thing, yet God triumphant in Jericho when the wall came down. He reduced Gideon’s army to a mere 300 from 32,000 men. Samson defeated an entire army with the jawbone of a donkey. And when we prayed with our niece for her dad to go home from hospital before Christmas, he went home to be with family for Christmas. Faith is the stuff the mighty have fully in heart. Faith moves the mountains of doctors, their agendas and more tests to prove God is alive and makes a glorious love in this hour for those who love Him!

 Remember it was Samson who ran to meet the army might. Gideon met those who would be alert to that which would appear before them. And a people marched around Jericho in silence for seven days and then a shout went up! Unity with God is so very vital in this hour we live. Unity by faith living His word, giving that word and shouting if necessary that our God reigns.

We might run to do a chore, do a thing as take a meal to a hungry family, but we also must run with our hearts to the Lord who Redeems. We run without any doubt, people of faith, expecting His kingdom to appear. Yes, run with all that is with you for the Lord lives and He moves where angels will not tread. But God is for us and He will not forsake us.

In Isaiah 45: 2-3 NKJV I will go before you and make the crooked places straight; I I will break in pieces the gates of bronze and cut the bars of iron. 3 I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places that you may know that I, the LORD, who call you by names am the God of Israel.

In this King Cyrus would see the Egyptian booty and control of Egyptian trade routes. Those called by name, those called to be reconcilers will bring the light of the gospel even in the dark places the enemy tries to take us…to bring unwarranted sickness when we have Jesus as Lord. Still we live in a world of sin, plaguing others, we seek the Lord’s heart and know HIM as the God of Israel.

Those knowing their heart for the Lord, will do valiantly. Their trust is in Him always. They speak to the mountains trying to rise higher in their lives. The mountains of the enemy must move out of our way. The Lord will straighten those pathways when we truly know and confess from our heart His word of truth. Then the path levels out for our good!

How will we act in just living day to day? How will others see us in the height of wealth, the despair of disease, the lowest rung of the ladder starting over after a sudden divorce or death? How will they see us? Do any of these occur ever? Yes, they do occur and can come. But we look up to His return. We seek our future with Him. For in darkness of the enemy, we live to see the light of the Lord and to bring that light to others at work, at the hospital or medical center. We seek to be light to others in whatever situation may be occurring. But we rise, in Him, we rise to give voice to His goodness in the land of the living.  If not us, then who and if not now when…..for tomorrow may be too late!

We run to meet this new year! We run not hesitating but always looking with eyes of wonder on Him who brings such beauty to a failing world. We run to meet the brightness of His coming for He brings light everywhere He goes.

We run, not limited nor hindered! We run to light. We run to truth. Without Him we can do nothing. Let’s take Him at His word and trust, morning will come with joy and dancing. The night has almost ended, for it is His joy in us that rises….it reaches the heights of heaven…and is better to us than anything the world could ever offer. Amen and Amen.

Yikes ! Sewer Water

....shall be like a tree planted by rivers of water...

Psalm 1 NKJV  Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the place of scornful; 
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD and in His law he meditates day and night. 
3 He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.
4 The ungodly are not so, But are like the chaff which the wind drives away. 
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6 For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Hebrews 10:19-23 NKJV 19 Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus 20 by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, 21 and having a High Priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering for He who promised is faithful.

That word "pure" in verse 21 of Hebrews 10 describes a physical cleanliness.
Sin pollutes and it defiles, but the blood of Jesus washes the stains away. Receiving Jesus, washed away our sin. But it is still a daily walk to be refreshed by Him, to see His ways and follow His teachings. That is, we are to obey Him!

Had seen some of the devastation that has taken place in some areas the last several months of 2018. And I was reading of that which swept through North Carolina. A storm that made "an unusual journey" from Africa to the east coast of America. It seemed to have an appointment with the land in that region of the U. S.
When the hurricane "Florence" entered the Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina, it was a 350-mile wide tropical storm. It produced large amounts of rain throughout North and South Carolina. It was noted that some area had experienced record rainfall with wide-spread flooding that impacted roadways, homes and businesses not just for the weekend, but for many weeks. It was 34 inches of rain that had fallen in just three days. We can get in the winter time an inch to 2 inches an hour but these folks were getting a lot more in less time. And if we do get that atmospheric river say in our region, it is here today and gone tomorrow.
Ah, but this storm produced serious wind problems as in tornadoes!

According to Kevin Trenberth of the National Center of Atmospheric Research reported that 53 people had died due to the horrific floodwaters. This flooding contained hog waste containing toxic mix of E. coli, Girardia and Salmonella that washed across the countryside. It was 3.4 million chickens died when the deluge struck the heart of the state's agriculture industry.
Devastation indeed had occurred and this was something that would not be cleaned up in a day or two, and it might take more than a year to clean that kind of toxicity from the land.
Can you imagine the cost of such a 'clean-up' of that magnitude? Yet they occurred in Houston Texas during Hurricane Harvey. Such contaminates swept into the water supply and caused a mixture of toxic proportions! These would be found in the land, in homes and in businesses. Can you now imagine the magnitude if those cars in those flooded areas are now cleaned up and sold to other markets in other states and you are driving "such" vehicle on a daily basis; one that has toxic sludge in the bottom parts of the carpets and other dark places?

So, can you imagine what happens to our minds and souls when we leave God's words: His thoughts and ways to follow the counsel of the ungodly, to stand with sinners or sit with the scornful? Can you imagine if you spend time watching advertisements that show partially clothed people with wine in hand and laughing their loudest to be heard and then you wishing you were there with them to partake of the same?

  Our delight is to be in the word of God and to meditate day and night on it. And when we do, we are like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf shall not wither, and whatever we do shall prosper.

Anything connected with the world will bring you to stand in sewer water. And it is anything but clean. It is not pure but holds disease and shame. If we are not in God, then we are in 'something'. And like Florence, when she appeared, she made a grand entry into a coastal beach, beautiful sand and waves and stirred up some havoc. She came into that region to dump a lot of water and to flood it  causing a deluge striking at the very heart of the state's agriculture industry. Yeah it was going to take a chunk of money from them! Yes, its very livelihood was shook to the foundations and that which is not founded on God will wash away with sewer water and never to be found again.

Devastation is occurring at a phenomenal rate today not only in the U. S. but around the world as well. When I was teen, I remember a tornado occurring every once in a great while. And one had occurred some hundred miles from where we lived. It took some time for that town to rebuild. And it will take time to rebuild cities like Houston who was hit by Hurricane Harvey in 2017. It will take time to rebuild and clean up areas like Florida hit by Irene in 2017 and again in 2018 by Hurricane Michael. New Orleans was hit in 2005 by Katrina and it is not the city it once was. Only parts were restored and some areas remain damaged from that major event that displaces thousands of people and killed others.

What if we truly paid attention to what matters and not just "looking to be good time Charlie or Charlene'? What if we sought out God though He is not far anyone of us.....Paul wrote this in Acts 17:26-30 NKJV  And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their pre-appointed times and boundaries of their dwellings, 27 so that they should seek the Lord in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though he is not far from each of us; 28 for in Him, we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, 'For we are also His offspring.'. 29 Therefore since we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and man's devising. 30 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent.

What can save one from a devastating storm? Well, your cell phone cannot save you nor will your government. When something occurs, it is up to the individual to have supplies, and hopefully have dried food in buckets where water will not intrude them. Water should be foremost to have on hand as well as a food supply and a first-aid kit. A generator would be great too. It should be one that does not need gas but is charged by the sun! There has been a forecast of an EMP occurring in many places around the world and I wonder how many are prepared if they lose power to their cell phones, laptops, their cars, their refrigerators and have no food or power. Pray it does not happen in the winter and then pray for a very long summer season. ( like a length of a decade)
For where there is no power, one will die with no water after how many days and will die without any food after how many days?

For the only power we have access to that is 24:7 is the Holy Spirit who gives us details of what Jesus speaks to the Father about. And we can be in the 'know' to stay out of sewer water and to pray : not just for ourselves, but for our brothers and sisters in Christ all over the world. For truly God is for us and He wants to help us....but He will not hear over the loud cries for another bottle wine nor will He hear when our voices sound more like those in Sodom and Gomorrah. No we must seek Him and abide there. We must look for His ways and hear His thoughts and move in that place of protection to be safe in Him  and live ................ Amen!

No, no sewer water today Lord, I seek to hear You speak as we are told many times in the book of Revelation....to hear what the Spirit of God is speaking. May we hold firm in a confidence that Jesus is Lord and there is no other in our heart.........so our heart is not struck by devastation and sewer water.
Lord have Your way in our lives today ....we believe You the true and only God have our back and we stay within Your plan....we give You our thanks and we recommit to be those who seek YOUR ways in this world...for we are in it but not of it.

Noonday

From Scripture given by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, we are told in Hosea 4:6 "my people perish for a lack of knowledge."
The New King James Version reads this way:

Hosea 4:4-6
4 "Now let no man contend, or rebuke another;
For your people are like those who contend with the priest.
5 Therefore you shall stumble in the day;
The prophet also shall stumble with you in the night;
And I will destroy your mother.
6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.
Because you have rejected knowledge,
I also will reject you from being priest for Me;
Because you have forgotten the law of your God,
I also will forget your children. NKJV

As the prophet over our lives and those of our families, we can surely have what we say. What we speak will form that highway to travel and it will either be for the good or for the bad.

Now let no man contend as in contention with another man.
Message Bible reads this way: "But don't look for someone to blame. No finger pointing! You, priest, are the one in the dock, You stumble around in broad daylight, and then the prophets take over and stumble all night. Your mother is as bad as you. My people are ruined because they don't know what's right or true. Because you've turned your back on knowledge, I've turned my back on you priests. Because you refuse to recognize the revelation of God, I'm no longer recognizing your children.
Yikes!

Those children not recognized by God and why....because it is the man or woman who will not turn to God and pray for them.

Taking God out of this country was a bad idea. And that taking Him out included out of the schools which was by prayer and the reading of the Word of God.  In the start of this great nation........the McGuffey Readers were implemented to help children learn to read  and the need for proper education came through this reader. It promoted reading of books and phonics to learn proper pronunciation of those words. From the mid 1800's to the 1960's the book was used to teach the spiritual and the moral life OF the Words of God. It was a needed and very much vital tool to promote a population of many people to become American citizens. This book characterized the importance of applying God's life to ours. It truly shaped America in its early years. (It was established to prepare them for life.)

Today, I am appalled to hear so many teens graduating from high school cannot read and cannot write or do math but in the simplest form. Where was the teacher? Oh, yeah, God our TEACHER was removed from the schools and then other places as well.

In thinking on this speech I heard today, I heard about the verse below quoted! Not sure if the writer knew what the verse meant, but surely one piece of the scripture was given!
 "He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, and the justice of your cause like the noonday sun." See below!

Psalm 37:5-6
5 Commit your way to the LORD;
trust in him and he will do this:
6 He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn,
the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.
NIV

It is a wonderful passage, but we must remember what verse 5 speaks. COMMIT your way to the LORD. Trust in Him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun."

It is commitment to God that will establish justice in your life and mine.

This only comes by Jesus being Lord of our lives. We must know God and abide in Him and know that the relationship with Him brings these things to our lives. When we continue to leave God out of everything, we have an empty life filled with only what the human force can bring. Without God there is no hope.

1 Kings 18:20-21

20 So Ahab sent for all the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets together on Mount Carmel. 21 And Elijah came to all the people, and said, "How long will you falter between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him." But the people answered him not a word. 

NKJV

If we falter between two opinions we gain nothing. We are to make God our Lord and follow Him. But if we follow anything else, then contention erupts, upheaval continues, frustration and depression set in.

If we humble ourselves and pray to seek His face, justice will return. Those who truly seek God and have Jesus seated on the throne of their hearts will pray and God will hear. And justice will have it's due course!

In Amos we are given this perfect Word.

Amos 5:23-24

23 Away with the noise of your songs! 

I will not listen to the music of your harps. 

24 But let justice roll on like a river, 

righteousness like a never-failing stream!  NIV

The Message Bible reads this way:

I've had all I can take of your noisy ego-music. When was the last time you sang to me? Do you know what I want? I want justice---oceans of it. I want fairness----rivers of it. That's what I want. That's all I want.

Leaving God is leaving justice behind. 

Matthew 11:29-30: “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” 

Why would anyone, making a fair analysis by comparing God's way with his self-chosen way and seeing what mankind has produced in this world, rather have his own way rather than God's? That makes no sense whatever! You can see what happens when we follow ourselves.

If God really wanted to make life truly difficult, He would have given man absolute freedom. It really builds satisfaction and contentment, right? No, not at all.

The more we act out of our emotions the more trouble presented. 

 We must truly realize that the more we talk, the emptier our words will become.

2 Peter 2:17-19

17 These men are springs without water and mists driven by a storm. Blackest darkness is reserved for them. 18 For they mouth empty, boastful words and, by appealing to the lustful desires of sinful human nature, they entice people who are just escaping from those who live in error. 19 They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of depravity-for a man is a slave to whatever has mastered him.  NIV

Come on now, let's be honest, we have all tried to lead ourselves and others without God's wisdom. It ends up a bigger mess than when we first began.

 As a member of the human race and an American citizen by birth, I understand the important of truth that we must accept that God is THE sovereign Creator.  And God does not change for He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He will not go back on His Word and change His thoughts or ways to suit little ole' you or little ole' me. Our faith is a "spiritual thing" and comes from God. Our trust is to be in Him our Father and not in any other. God is God Alone!

When we must speak, may it done in the wisdom of God and by much prayer time. When we walk out of our house, may we represent God well and obey His every command. Then and only then, will justice roll on like a river, and God will smile because He will see us in right-standing with Him because Jesus rules over our hearts and our minds. Amen!

Finding the Treasure

Recently we had some time out by the river! We had food galore. The weather was beautiful and the day was quiet. The place we found had no one present to disturb the quiet of the beauty of such a place. Our grand-daughter wanted to look for treasure. She started out with a smaller plastic type little garden shovel. She would move sand from one place to another. She would write her name in the sand and then start all over to dig and move sand again. Well, her grandpa brought her a little bit bigger shovel he had in his truck. Was just the right size for her to move greater amounts of sand. Well, in all her digging, at the end of the time allotted for our visit to this beautiful place, she found some money in the hole she dug up! Was she expecting to find something?  Yes! What would be the point of digging, if not to look for something, right?

There are many kinds of treasures in the world today. Many people covet their paycheck to put in the bank, or spend. There is the treasure in winning the lottery or the slots at some casino. There are some who seek to have the same clothes, same hairdo and same shoes they saw the model wear on the latest Runway for Fall 2015 or the New Trends for 2016. There are treasures in jewelry and even in travels, and some search out silver and gold!
But the treasure I write about is this one!
Proverbs 21:20......20 There is desirable treasure,  And oil in the dwelling of the wise,
But a foolish man squanders it.  NKJV

That treasure is the Holy Spirit in us! The truest riches is in His Presence. That oil is the anointing! Those who value that oil are the wise.

2 Corinthians 4:7.....7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. NKJV
A treasure in us, a richness that comes from God and not of us. We certainly house that treasure, but the power is all God. He infuses us with His power to do something specific.

Those rich truths as stated by Jesus......was compared to the pearl of great price!

Matthew 13:45-46......45 "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, 46 who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.

That price paid was great. To have that continually infusing of the Holy Spirit into our lives, takes a lot of time in His presence. It takes more quality time in knowing Him and enjoying the time together.

Luke 12:13-21.........13 Then one from the crowd said to Him, "Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me." 14 But He said to him, "Man, who made Me a judge or an arbitrator over you?" 15 And He said to them, "Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses." 16 Then He spoke a parable to them, saying: "The ground of a certain rich man yielded plentifully. 17 And he thought within himself, saying, 'What shall I do, since I have no room to store my crops?' 18 So he said, 'I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build greater, and there I will store all my crops and my goods. 19 And I will say to my soul, "Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry." ' 20 But God said to him, 'Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?' 21 So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God."      NKJV


Matthews 6:19-21.......19 "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.   NKJV

The treasure God has for us is found in Him. That treasure is spiritual. It is one appointed to you when you received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. It is not only the Water Baptism that we are to partake in after receiving Jesus as Lord, but also the Baptism of the Holy Spirit according to Acts 1.

All of this is an impartation, a gift God has placed in you.

Seeing that come and to be revealed will take prayer time in Tongues. 

What treasures can we unlock through our time in prayer? What can be revealed to us in that time of prayer? We will find those treasures in the mercies and blessing of our Father God who loves us and desires for us to devote our time to fellowship.

 Prayer will change our lives when we heed Jesus’ words to us, “always ought to pray and not lose heart” Luke 18:1.

Our grand-daughter did not lose heart. She kept right on digging and digging. She went up the river and found some treasure. It was something she could take home with her and I believe she sowed it into the "kingdom of God".

This encounter should be one that reveals who we are to pray for and what to expect when we do pray.  The greatest treasure is knowing the Holy Spirit and that He can lead us through prayer for those who need it the most.

Jude 17-24

17 Dear friends, remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ told you, 18 that in the last times there would come these scoffers whose whole purpose in life is to enjoy themselves in every evil way imaginable. 19 They stir up arguments; they love the evil things of the world; they do not have the Holy Spirit living in them. 

20 But you, dear friends, must build up your lives ever more strongly upon the foundation of our holy faith, learning to pray in the power and strength of the Holy Spirit. 

21 Stay always within the boundaries where God's love can reach and bless you. Wait patiently for the eternal life that our Lord Jesus Christ in his mercy is going to give you. 22 Try to help those who argue against you. Be merciful to those who doubt. 23 Save some by snatching them as from the very flames of hell itself. And as for others, help them to find the Lord by being kind to them, but be careful that you yourselves aren't pulled along into their sins. Hate every trace of their sin while being merciful to them as sinners. 

24 And now-all glory to him who alone is God, who saves us through Jesus Christ our Lord; yes, splendor and majesty, all power and authority are his from the beginning; his they are and his they evermore shall be. And he is able to keep you from slipping and falling away, and to bring you, sinless and perfect, into his glorious presence with mighty shouts of everlasting joy. Amen.

Father, we thank You for the greatest treasure of the Holy Spirit in our lives. We thank You today for the Holy Spirit Who leads us on the path ever leading us to the divine plan You have purposed for our lives. Continue to give us discernment to know the advice we are receiving is from someone YOU have sent to us. We desire to never miss Your leading because of closed ears and blind eyes.

Enable us to use the gifts You have placed in us to help others. We pray to be those who always lay a foundation in prayer beforehand so we will know without a doubt those who are ready to receive from the Lord. We pray to be those who will always communicate in love, to our families and to those YOU send us to minister to for today and tomorrow. Father, we are told in Philippians 1:9 that Paul prayed a prayer stating: "and this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and discernment." Our prayer is to have Your knowledge and discernment, knowing that it comes and is evident in those whose love is abounding or growing.
As Jesus laid down His life for us and sent us the Holy Spirit as our Comforter, we pray to consistently lay down our lives to pray for others, redeeming the time.

We pray to always hear as we pray and seek YOUR wisdom, and we receive Your discernment to identify the ploys of the enemy for families, for friends and for our neighbors, those we know and do not know. 

We pray that YOU the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory will give to us the spirit of wisdom and revelation so that our eyes of understanding will be enlightened and we will always know what is the hope of Your calling on our lives. (Ephesians 1:17-18)

Splash and Dash

Spring comes in bringing change. It is evident with leaves appearing on trees, flowers displaying their beauty and lawns turning a lush dark green that winter packed its ice chest and left. Add to that the "spring showers" and one sees more of the splash and dash over the colorful bouquets that are sprinkled around the lawn of green. Those festive colors just shout for us to join in to partake of a special yard party to be held in our honor!
 I like being outside this time of year. I love the colors, the feel of green grass under the feet as one walks the length of it and I love to feel the soft rain on the face.
In experiencing this "splash and dash" about two weeks to less than ten days ago, however, the showers seem to be short, few sprinkles and lots of wind. Anyone living in this region knows we need some adequate rain to get through the coming summer months.
We were praying for some slow rains that will spend the whole day here and not continue the "splash and dash" thing! Today our prayers were answered for the rain has come and stayed to saturate the ground. Praise the Lord for His goodness to us!

Was considering this while praying for the writing today. As living beings we need the water to live.
Psalm 36:7-9......7 How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God!
Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings. 
8 They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house,
And You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures. 
9 For with You is the fountain of life;
In Your light we see light.  NKJV

abundantly satisfied=filled, satiated, 
with fatness or fullness of Your house= abundance in the temple
drink (shaqah (shaw-kaw'); drink, drown, moisten as in water
from the river=as from a filled and overflowing river or stream at winter's end
life= revelation knowledge
the river of God's delight and pleasure to give


When considering there is no rain or water for the lawn and plants for a length of days or weeks, the ground will be dry and hard. Even if one were to run the hose full open on that "dry ground", any moisture will not adequately water the roots of the grass or plants. The optimum word here is to penetrate the soil. That moisture would need to penetrate to the root area and be repeated for some days to get the needed affect for plants and grass to grow and thrive.

John 7:37-39...........37 On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. 38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water." 39 But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.     NKJV

anyone= whosoever will come

with thirst= of uncertain affinity....for a relationship, a correspondence, or associate with

Let him come=erchomai (er'khom-ahee) ...appear, grow, enter

It reminds of this saying my mother had when referring to her cleaning the house when I was a young child. She would say, "I will give it a lick and a promise." She would always add, "I promise to get the whole house done tomorrow." She wanted a clean house always, but with two girls and her PTA meetings and such, her time was used up quickly. All her meals she prepared for dinner was not out of a box but all made from scratch.  So she cleaned those areas that one could see upon entering our home. Yes, that was a quick clean and then move on to do what she needed on her to-do list for that day!

 And on the very next day though, she would tackle that job of cleaning with a vengeance. She would clean anything and everything in her way.

The American Heritage Dictionary puts it like this: to perform said task with a lick and a promise is to the absolute minimum required and far less than that. With the lick and a promise, you are not really tackling the task , but only half-heartedly pretending to chase it.

In respect to my mother and her house cleaning projects, she regarded a clean house above all else. That meant if we, my sister and I were at home from school ( or summer vacation), were called to duty immediately. That duty included any detail our mother would broadcast to us. She would give us her plan, and then we would do the job or project she gave us to do.

2 Corinthians 13:14.............14 May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. NIV

Seems simple does it not? We are to have the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. We are to have the ability(grace) Jesus had as He walked here on earth with favor and beauty. We are to have the love of God! But we are to have fellowship of the Holy Spirit, too!

1 John 4:9-11........9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. NKJV

Philippians 2:1-4.......2:1 Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, 2 fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. 3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.     NKJV

It takes that communion of the Holy Spirit to retain any semblance of a love walk with other Christians, or believer's in Jesus Christ. In knowing God and His love, we are to know that, we too, are loved. It is not in a pretending, "well, I love Jesus, I guess I can love you." No, it is so much more than that. We must know that we are loved by God. 

Jesus sent the Comforter to us! Our lives are to be influenced by the Holy Spirit. He is a gentleman. He does not act vulgar in any way, form or fashion! When He is around, we speak the wisdom of God. When He is around, people know us by His love through us. When He is around, we look good!

The Holy Spirit has been poured out! 

The leadership of the Spirit has always had its foundation on the Word of God. The Holy Spirit will never leads us from it. 

1 John 5:7-13............7 For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. 8 And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one. 9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; for this is the witness of God which He has testified of His Son. 10 He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. 11 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. NKJV

Do you know any "splash and dash" people?  What about the "lick and promise" folks? Know any of them by their promising to do better tomorrow? For cleaning still comes by the Word of God, and it gives us promises of a great future! I have learned that there is no such thing as "dry cleaning" when it comes to the word of God.  We truly need the water of the Word to be clean as seen in John 15:3-4.... 3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in Me, and I in you.  NKJV

A crisis, problem or trouble can come any time. We know not what our path holds, but God does. Should He be speaking for us to continue to come, continue to enter His Presence, and to come so that we will water the seed of fellowship of the Holy Spirit, what would our reply be to Him? 
I promise tomorrow God that I will pray, I will pray in tongues, and I will confess the promises You have for me.

Reading the Word of God is paramount as is prayer!  There is also fasting, and worship that we are know and consider!

For worship does play a major role when we know to whom we are worshiping and why we are to worship.

The Holy Spirit can and will  bring us the vocabulary that God speaks through His Holy Spirit. He helps our infirmities in not knowing how or what to pray, and He also establishes in us the Word of God that speaks, when we spend the time to read and put it in our hearts. For me, I desire to not be a splash and  dash person.

In this day and time, it is not good to be half-hearted towards God and His wisdom. Surely God is for us and wants to keep us in that land that oozes with every resource we need.

Let's not be the splash and dash people, but those who spend time with the Holy Spirit by praying in tongues, worshiping, and confessing the Word.

Father, thank You for the Holy Spirit! Thank You Jesus for sending the Comforter to us!

Holy Spirit, I truly love to behold and gaze upon the beauty YOU have imagined. Thank YOU for all that we view from our back door. We see the magnitude of the greatness of our God. Thank YOU for allowing me to be here and enjoy YOUR world. How may I bring pleasure to YOU?  I ask YOU to speak to me and guide me into the specific assignment YOU have for me to do. I am alive because of YOU and I know YOU have a plan. Holy Spirit, YOU are a treasure to me. I give thanks to my God, my Creator for allowing me to participate in the Great Commission. Holy Spirit lead me and I will testify of Jesus and the goodness of God in the land of the living. Holy Spirit it is You Who reveals to me the difference between those essential and nonessential issues that we can see on our journey through this life. Mentor me my treasured Friend. Please clutter my life of distractions, so that I may hear Your voice clearly today. Come, You are welcome here! We give freedom for You to rule here. Show us the plan for this day!  In Jesus' name, I pray and believe the Holy Spirit will have His way in every situation or thing that appears on my pathway. Amen.
