BREAKER 1 9

BREAKER  1 9

Heard a teaching today and I had remembered living in a wilderness area of Wyoming. Our daughter had taken a name when using the radio to check in on the CB we used. She had a call name which matched her own name. (Candy Cane) And she would open with “Breaker 1-9 (assuming you were in the right place for that check), come in radio check"!  We had a CB radio in our truck and our family members each had one in their trucks, so if out hunting, or else, we had a check that radio was working to keep in touch. But do we check our heart? Would we say yes or would we say: rarely????

David asked for a radio check: Psalm 139:23-24 when he prayed, “Search my, O God and know my heart; try me and know my anxious thoughts; and see if there be any hurtful way in me and lead me in the everlasting way.” When was there a radio check with the Lord God that you had?

David wanted to be searched on his heart matter. He asked God to know him and if he had anxious thoughts.

In having love for others is the spiritual test. As we grow in that love, we will be tested on that love we have within our own heart. Yes, the acid test of spiritual maturity is a growing love for God and people. If it is not growing for God and people, you are not growing in your Christian life!!!

Jesus made it crystal clear that the most important commandments are (1) loving God with all you are, and (2) loving people as you love yourself. If I am to grow as a Christian, the proof of spiritual growth is not how much I know, it is how much I care. It is not how often I go to church … or how many Bible studies I am involved in … or how many people consider me a strong Christian … or how many verses I have memorized. The real proof is how much my heart and your heart is growing with love. Paul said that love is the goal of our instruction.

If you will do a “radio check” with God, He will question back to you:

“Do you love Me more today? Do you love Me more that what is before you?
Are you growing in your love and appreciation for Me?
Do you love what I love … people for whom I died?” Will you stand with Me in the purpose I have set before you???

If love is truly the acid test of spiritual maturity (and it no doubt is), how are you doing with this thing called love?  If you are really growing in your love for the Lord, your life will show it in obedience to His commands. Jesus said, “He who has My commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves Me” (John 14:21). If you are really growing in your love for others, your life will show it in the way you treat people, in the way you pray for people. Christians who are really growing are praying daily for unsaved family, friends, neighbors and associates. They have a burden for lost people who are one heartbeat from an eternal hell.

I had a fellow Christian send me a teaching they had this last Sunday. I thought of Esau who shed tears for the moment, wanted soup in a moment and cared nothing of his patriarchal leadership among his Jewish family. He wanted soup and do his own thing as in hunting!

As I write this line I am remembering the one who saw writing on the wall and was found wanting! God writing like He did to Belshazzar, your kingdom is numbered and finished. You are found wanting and divided and slain…Found in Daniel 5:13-30… ..Belshazzar knew how God dealt with his father, Nebuchadnezzar, but  he refused to be humbled by it!

Belshazzar, used all the instruments of God’s house for his own glory. He desired to take and use that which belonged to another in property.  What Belshazzar did was for Belshazzar’s own performance. He was the grandson of Nebuchadnezzar. He had a great feast using the sacred gold and silver vessels which grandfather Nebuchadnezzar had stolen from the temple in Jerusalem. The king with his entourage drank themselves drunk on wine, and praised the gods of gold and silver, bronze and iron, wood and stone. Fingers appeared to write on the wall. The king terrified by what he saw offered up his purple robe, a chain of gold and would promote anyone who could interpret the meaning written on the wall before him, the king!

Daniel would be called in. The queen suggested his being summoned to interpret. He is of excellent wisdom and spiritually leaned on God. Daniel brought before the king also rebuked him, the king, boldly for desecrating the vessels of the temple by using them for a drunken party as in the idolatrous feast. For this king, Daniel read Mene, Mene, tekel, upharsin, Mene. Daniel told the king God had numbered the Babylonian Empire and finished it. He was told it was weighed in the balances and was found wanting.

The king would be die. He was found wanting and he was found divided. He chose to party with the world and not hear God! Should his heart been checked to find such going on? I believe most people will know they are going the wrong way indeed. YOU do not and should not use God’s things to comfort the world. The world is made of those who choose no rule nor boundaries. They despise the things of God!

Will you do a “radio check” today?  And will you ask God to show you where you are with Him? Is He with you in the trial or did you not call on Him before that “trial” began?

Ask Him to change you, to grow you, to help understand His love for you better … so that you can love Him back . 1 John 4:19…. “We love, because He first loved us”

In reading the Ten Commandments we find this requirement that we are love God and neighbor. But the law could not produce this love in people. And we can do this today because of the wonderful love that God gave in sending His Son Jesus to die for us who were in sin! Is it possible to love God and have some less love for our neighbor? Jesus loved the people who came to save. But not all will be saved for they will not see their sin nor their darkness. We are told if they slap you on the cheek, turn your face and let them slap you again. YOU can see that today indeed. We love by praying for them. I do not understand their breaking rules to suit their agenda, but God has His kingdom and to reside there, we forgive others!

Ask God: Ask Him to give you a heart for people, especially lost people who desperately need to know about a Savior who can forgive all their sins and change their lives if they will just surrender to Him.

Ask Him to help you pray for your neighbor’s children. Ask Him for their safety if they are not of the saved.

Proverbs 3:3-24 has much to speak about wisdom, about the word bound to our neck to find favor and high esteem in the sight of God and man.

5 Trust in the LORD with all  your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;

6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths ( concerning life, spouse or marriage)or something else here______________  Do not be wise in your own eyes;  Fear the LORD and depart from evil. 8 It will be health to your flesh, And strength to  your bones. 9 Honor the LORD with your possessions, And with the first-fruits of all your increase;

10 So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine. 11 My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD, Nor detest His correction; 12 For whom the LORD loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in whom he delights.13 Happy is the man who finds wisdom, And the man who gains understanding;

14 For her proceeds are better than the profits of silver, And her gain than fine gold.  15 She is more precious than rubies, And all the things  you may desire cannot compare with her.  16 Length of days is in her right hand, In her left hand riches and honor.

17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, And all her paths are peace.   18 She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her, And happy are all who retain her.

19 The LORD by wisdom founded the earth; By understanding He established the heavens; 20 By His knowledge the depths were broken up, And clouds drop down the dew. 21 My son let them not depart from your eyes-  Keep sound wisdom and discretion;  22 So they will be life to your soul  And grace to your neck.  23 Then  you will walk safely in your way, And your foot will not stumble.  24 When  you lie down, you will not be afraid.......

I saw something written by William MacDonald ( he wrote commentaries on the Bible) : Discipline is a proof of love, not anger. Correction is proof of son-ship.

Are we known as sons? Does not love look like our Father who created us? If we put Christ Jesus in our hearts: then Jesus far surpassed any profit of man who has silver and gold, any wealth, any song, anything indeed.

Jesus is the treasure inexhaustible, He is the source of true delight. YOU might gain the world’s applause, but it is only Jesus who can bring joy to our heart and a smile to our face that will never stop being produced. He offers long life, gives eternal life with spiritual riches and honor. He is pleasantness and His paths are peace. He provides sound wisdom and discretion to give vitality to our souls. They allow us to walk safely in our way free from danger of tripping and slipping. You and I have a guarantee of good sleep tonight for we carry no guilt on the conscience and no fear on our minds.

We had a “heart check” with God! Disciplined in Him, we have no anger. God is our justice and He is the judgment. And what He speaks determines the outcome of my life and yours. His will is being done and He wins. That is communicating with Him indeed.  Amen and Amen.

Will Not Worship Green Grass

Voice of Prayer

The value of God’s wisdom is incomparable. Wisdom of God brings enlargement to our lives. We are to see through His eyes & understand. His kingdom is moving & enlarging. As it does, the purposes for our lives will enlarge our capacity.  We are given a greater ability to see through His eyes as we humble ourselves to read & spend time in His presence.

Proverbs 8: 20- 26 NKJV 20 I traverse the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of justice, 21 That I may cause those who love me to inherit wealth, that I may fill their treasuries.
22 The LORD possessed me at the beginning of His way, before His works of old. 23 I have been established from everlasting, from the beginning, before there was ever an earth. 24 When there were no depths I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water. 25 Before the mountains were settled, before the hills, I was brought forth; 26 While as yet He had not made the earth or the fields, or the primal dust of the world.

The power of God is the inherent characteristic of God. His nature is inherent power. We can see that in His creation.
Revealed in Jeremiah 10:12-18  Amplified Bible, 12 God made the earth by His power; He established the world by His wisdom and by His understanding & skill stretched out the heavens. 13 When He utters His voice, there is a tumult of waters in the heavens, & He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth. He makes lightnings for the rain & brings forth the wind out from His treasuries & from His storehouses. 14 Every man has become like a brute, irrational & stupid, without knowledge [of God]; every goldsmith is brought to shame by his graven idols; for his molten images are frauds and falsehood, & there is no breath in them. 15 They are devoid of worth, usefulness or truth, a work of delusion and mockery; in their time of trial & punishment they shall [helplessly] perish. 16 The Portion of Jacob [the true God on Whom Israel has a claim] is not like these, for He is the Fashioner and Maker of all things, and Israel is the tribe of His inheritance----the Lord of hosts is His name. 17 Gather up your bundle [of baggage] from the ground, O you who dwell under siege. 18 For thus says the Lord: Behold, I will sling out the inhabitants of the land at this time and will bring distress on them, that they may feel it and find it [to be as I have said, and turn to Me.].

God is real and He has presence. He has a voice that He speaks but do we hear Him speak? Without knowing Him we become like the brute beast. We become irrational and yes stupid. I do not know about you, but I do not want to be stupid in my daily living.
It is God who established the earth. It is He who regulates the times and seasons we read from verse 13 of chapter 10 of Jeremiah the prophet. God is called the Lord of hosts.

Isaiah 45:11-13 NKJV 11 Thus says the LORD, The Holy One of Israel, & his Maker; Ask Me of things to come concerning My sons; & concerning the work of My hands, you command Me. 12 I have made the earth, & created man on it. --My hands----stretched out the heavens, & all their host I have commanded. 13 I have raised him up in righteousness, & I will direct all his ways; he shall build My city & let My exiles go free, not for price nor reward, says the Lord of hosts.

From this passage, God is speaking to Cyrus and as God's instrument he was raised in righteousness to do God's will on earth. If you are born again to God, then you have His Spirit living in you to guide you in those daily affairs in life. In our turning to God we are turning to Him in faith and much trust. In relying on His wisdom, we live this life with His wisdom on our minds and in our hearts.

Proverbs 15:7 The lips of the wise disperse knowledge, but the heart of the fool does not do so.
We have to understand that there is a right way and a wrong way to disperse knowledge. When God reveals something to you and I through His word then we are to tell others, and teach them if necessary what the word means in our daily life.
John 8:32 says that the truth sets people free. And the truth is that which is revelation knowledge and it comes from God who is the God of love. He loves us greatly and sent His Son to prove it!

Corruption appears when we make idols!  Exodus 20:4-6    NKJV 4"You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; 5 you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, 6 but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.

Keep what God commanded has us as to those boundaries of safety in Him. There is nothing created on earth that can come close to displaying God or our Lord Jesus Christ. These two are unique indeed. They come from beyond this physical realm we know so well. They are the absolute. They are the pure and undefiled. They are eternal. Yet the idol is a something or a someone of any other realm that man can make and can value. But we are to give to God rightfully what belongs to Him and that is worship to our Creator.

You and I must know who God is and know His love for in that is He revealed. We become what we worship. And knowing idolatry is a false thing and without life to it, why worship what cannot speak nor breathe? Acts 17:25 Nor is He worshiped with men's hands, as though he needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things. 26 And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their pre-appointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings 27 so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; 28 for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, 'for we are also His offspring'.

The bloodline is of God and the people, those men and women, are made in His image. Knowing God's true nature is important because we become what we worship. Thus, this commandment from Exodus 20 covers idolatry in a form in which the true God if worshiped through either a false image or a corrupt practice that is the false representation of His true reality. If we idolize that thing, we become the wrong thing. Then we act like what we worship and identify with it in our day to day living.

Ask yourself today if there are any idols in your life. Ask God by His Holy Spirit to direct you into seeing what you might have created as "an idol". For some it could be a hobby or for others it could be that band where you can exhibit your talent with the bass guitar.
What is that which spurs you into tomorrow? Is it God and to know Him and His love for you and yours or is it to make a name for you? This year was the year I got back into exercising and it consists of a lawnmower and a big yard. It was to get back out into the light of day and expend some energy to actually tone up some muscles that needed some real help. When one is ill and taken out of the daily living cycle, one can get depressed, and lose interest in life. That is why God's word is so important so that we can see daily the life He has for us from that living word. Getting back to eating the right foods and drinking plenty of good water, and exercise I have found more energy but I also find I have to watch & make certain that cutting the grass every week is not becoming an idol to me.

Paul wrote this: Romans 1:25....who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, & worshiped & served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
There should be no wrath for the children of God. And why? Because we find this from Paul: 1 Thessalonians 1:9-10 NKJV For they themselves declare concerning us what manner of entry we had to you, & how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, 10 and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.

Will I consider the verse above and remember turning to God is turning to the living and the true? For with all the false narratives and created lies and deceit, I would rather have life in God than in what some news programs can speak out as the pompous and blasphemous horn of hate to many men even though we all have the same blood given to us by the One true God. And the next time I cut the grass in the backyard, I will remember I got to do it because God met me in the early morning hours of March 18, 2015 to keep me alive to enjoy another beautiful day in the sun and give Him praise for His goodness to me in the land of the living.
Will you consider what might overpower you to worship it? For me, I will not worship green grass!

Is it Life You Seek?

John 1:35-42
35 Again, the next day, John stood with two of his disciples. 36 And looking at Jesus as He walked, he said, "Behold the Lamb of God!" 37 The two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus. 38 Then Jesus turned, and seeing them following, said to them, "What do you seek?" They said to Him, "Rabbi" (which is to say, when translated, Teacher), "where are You staying?" 39 He said to them, "Come and see." They came and saw where He was staying, and remained with Him that day (now it was about the tenth hour). 40 One of the two who heard John speak, and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother. 41 He first found his own brother Simon, and said to him, "We have found the Messiah" (which is translated, the Christ). 42 And he brought him to Jesus. Now when Jesus looked at him, He said, "You are Simon the son of Jonah. You shall be called Cephas" (which is translated, A Stone).
NKJV

Seek: zeteo....2212.........in Hebraism........to worship God.........in the bad sense......to plot against

Interesting meaning of seek: as to worship or to plot against...........
Jesus was asking them, "What do you seek?" And they responded, "where are You staying?"
Jesus told them to ...."Come and see."

Are we seeking life? Are we coming to see what He will say to us?  For real life is only found in Jesus! You will not find it anywhere else!
What culture dictates is not the truth of what God has given us.
Are we really looking for His peace or our way into our peace.........that is: which is comfortable for us in this day and time? What boundary lines do we have in place? Are we keeping God's Word out and letting everything else in to our hearts?
What amount of time do we give Him? And when we do spend time with Him, are we plotting against what He is speaking to us? Wow, that is a bad place to be!

In asking this, I go back and look at Jesus and his conversation toward Peter. "You are Simon the son of Jonah and You shall be called Cephas (which is translated, A Stone.
Now Simon Peter has just met Jesus. And Jesus is calling him the hollow stone. Yes, I know the teachings on Peter the Rock, but Peter was not the Rock yet and had some way to go in his walk with the Lord!
In looking this up I have read it and it is literally the stumbling stone. 4074......petros....but that takes you to.....2786...that takes you to............OT 3721....hollow.....
So "hello, hollow stone"...............!

Now let's consider the walk Peter had with Jesus. He spent time with Him everyday after that first initial meeting. And Peter had to be drawn to the life in Jesus.
Was watching one of the movies over the holiday weekend and of how Jesus was portrayed by the one actor, Bruce Marchiano...."The Gospel According to Matthew", but the movie we saw was the one, "Emmaus".  And all the while, I thought how I believed Jesus is just like what the man Marchiano portrays Him to be. In that I considered the joyful expression on this man's face that would be the face of Jesus and the joy that radiated from His heart. He seemed to effervesce with life giving water.
That joy had to be in Jesus, and ever effervescing into life speech for others. Day after day, Peter had to see some form of light.
In truth, the man heard the Word given By THE WORD OF GOD! AND yet we saw him fail. Ah, yes, failure.
In taking the Word of God, we take our place as the righteous man and through Jesus we have that name. His Name places us in His kingdom that has come. It is always our fearless confession before the world. It is through grace that we are saved and not of ourselves; it is the gift of God. It is not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we (each of us who walk this earth ...ST) should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:7-10)

Again, seeing Peter waffle in some areas and who does not do that? It is not a good thing to do and some can fall into " a big pit" when the Word of God is not their focus.  Peter's was knee deep into his own thinking and believing how Jesus would not die. Peter spoke this in Mark 14.....verse...31  But Peter insisted emphatically, "Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you." And all the others said the same. NIV

Mark 14:17-31
17 In the evening He came with the twelve. 18 Now as they sat and ate, Jesus said, "Assuredly, I say to you, one of you who eats with Me will betray Me." 19 And they began to be sorrowful, and to say to Him one by one, "Is it I?" And another said, "Is it I?" 20 He answered and said to them, "It is one of the twelve, who dips with Me in the dish. 21 The Son of Man indeed goes just as it is written of Him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been good for that man if he had never been born."

22 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them and said, "Take, eat; this is My body." 23 Then He took the cup, and when He had given thanks He gave it to them, and they all drank from it. 24 And He said to them, "This is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many. 25 Assuredly, I say to you, I will no longer drink of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God." 26 And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

27 Then Jesus said to them, "All of you will be made to stumble because of Me this night, for it is written:

'I will strike the Shepherd, And the sheep will be scattered.'

28 "But after I have been raised, I will go before you to Galilee." 29 Peter said to Him, "Even if all are made to stumble, yet I will not be." 30 Jesus said to him, "Assuredly, I say to you that today, even this night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times." 31 But he spoke more vehemently, "If I have to die with You, I will not deny You!" And they all said likewise. NKJV

Even in all this of Jesus' speaking to Peter, the man Peter was still disputing what He, Jesus had told him. And Peter had the rest agreeing with him in this matter. Jesus told them that His sheep were going to be scattered. And Peter remarks, :"Even if all are made to stumble, yet I will not be."(Mark 14:29)

Yeah Peter............you stumbled! And what will make us stumble if we do not adhere to The Word of God? What will cause us to make some really bad decisions?
Today, many are taking the stance that some things are okay. They mention word to co-exist!  In the body of Christ, many are speaking and writing that it is okay to endorse a gay and lesbian lifestyle. Yet we know from Scripture and it is made clear that kind of perverted life style brings one to death. And any who endorse it will face judgement. It is like they are inviting that judgment into their lives by promoting it publicly. And judgment will come to them and their house.

There is a very sad story given us in the book of Judges. In chapter 19 we are told of a man traveling with his daughter and a concubine. They are heading back to Jerusalem, but evening was drawing to a close, and it began to be dark outside, so the man looked for a place for the night, But nothing was available. An elderly man came by and told them not to stay outdoors, but get inside. So the old man gave them sanctuary.
Judges 19:22 As they were enjoying themselves, suddenly certain men of the city, perverted (literally, sons of Belial) surrounded the house and beat on the door. They spoke to the master of the house, the old man, saying, "Bring out the man who came to your house, that we may know him carnally!"

The concubine is given to the perverted men so the man would not be touched or defiled by such debauchery. What was seen was violence with the sign of being of the aggressive (angry) nature. It was "not the natural" of what God had created and planned. The perverted men wanted the man.  The Levite gave them his concubine so that they would not sin against God. And they attacked. For when you read on in chapter 19, the concubine is beaten and left for dead on the threshold of the door of the old man's house.

Pressure can come with many different looks and sounds!
In both of these examples we are the reminded of the "pressure" that is placed on others in situations that are of chaos. They represent anything but the order that God set forth for those He created to live and be. In those instances, where is their trust residing?
Pressure showed itself in the Garden of Gethsemane and Peter bowed to it. He took the stance of protecting himself. And how many will continue to do that today and this hour? People need prayer and even the body of Christ needs prayer, that there is no co-exist in the Bible. It is not found anywhere in the Bible.  God disdains the perverted lifestyle! He created Adam and Eve. Simple! It was man with woman, to have children and raise them with father, mother and have siblings.
No, no hate here just a reminder of the love that God sent forth by His Son Jesus and that through Him we will have life eternally with Him. Away from Him and apart from His plan, His Word, people perish!

Peter had to turn away from the " me, myself and I mentality" and truly embrace the Lord Jesus. He had to let go of tradition and titles and other people's perspectives. Peter had to learn to have a place at Jesus' feet and really see and hear Him speak. Peter had to learn that the voice speaking loudly to us, should be the Lord's voice and not the world's. For in giving regard to other men who walk not in truth of God's Word will only bring one back into slavery and into a place of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of a calm and well balanced mind and discipline and self-control. (2 Timothy 1:7)Amplified Bible

We are to abide in Jesus, and the word He gave us. In that self-discipline toward really capturing all He told them and tells us as we make our way through the pages of the Gospels, we find we gain self-control and His love in us that will protect us from that "spirit of fear".

In closing: Jesus is asking: "What do you seek?"
And what will we tell Him today..........? Is it unto life everlasting with Him................or the perverted that will perish?
What will be our answer?
Will we be found seated at His feet heeding His teachings and warnings or will we cast it away?

2 Corinthians 5:10
10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.  NIV

Amen!

Weeds

What have we done to see our families, those young in the Lord to go forward with Him and serve Him all the days of their lives? What have we placed around them, what horizon have we given them to focus on for all their tomorrows?

What boundaries have we put into place around our families, our grand-children (future grand-children), our spouses, our homes, our jobs and even around that future college for your child or children to attend when they leave home?

Is there even a fence placed, to keep the evil away, and the good, the blessings of God to come continually to our children? The adversary, the devil, desires to take the youth out by the hundreds, and what are we doing as the family of God to stop it? Have we ever considered what waits on the street corner for your son or daughter or your neighbors daughter or sons' walk or how about the places only the youth provide the numbers for a filled event that you have no desire to know or understand or even attend yourself? Your answer of yes to such things can bring them into the wrong thing!
Our prayers can certainly put a boundary for them to be stopped in Jesus name that would be a consistent harm to our children or grand-children or even for a friend in the Lord.
We may have a friend, or friends or neighbors who have no protection. Their parents never gave them that protection. They possibly knew not the Lord or had the revelation of placing some protection around them.
Proverbs 24 tells us something of a broken down wall!

Proverbs 24:30-34
30 I went past the field of the sluggard,
past the vineyard of the man who lacks judgment;
31 thorns had come up everywhere,
the ground was covered with weeds,
and the stone wall was in ruins.
32 I applied my heart to what I observed
and learned a lesson from what I saw:
33 A little sleep, a little slumber,
a little folding of the hands to rest--
34 and poverty will come on you like a bandit
and scarcity like an armed man.   NIV

What if we keep putting off our prayer time, what if we put off confessing God's Word of strength and power around that friend, that family member, or how about our spouse? For that slumber time away from God is poverty in your spiritual land and causes a scarcity...........it is a place of "lack", it is hunger, and it is void of life. That means everything around you is tending or leaning towards decay, brokeness, destruction, and weeds!

The Amplified Bible says this:
Proverbs 24:30-34 I went by the field of the lazy man, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding. 31 And, behold, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles were covering its face, and its stone wall was broken down. 32 Then I beheld and considered it well; I looked and received instruction. 33 Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep-----34 So shall your poverty come as a robber, and your want as an armed man.

That which is "in ruins" is the broken down.....and....will continue to break down with no kind of secure wall for safety around them, when we do not place that Word of God around our children, families or that which we need a boundary around. Some seem so complacent about the Word of God and applying it to their lives and I am NOT sure why they appear so lax with it! For God's Word is power unto life. It is power that overcame the devil, but rarely hear it spoken. We speak it in our home! We have praise and worship toward God going and shut off the outside "noises".
Interesting about that phrase of the ground covered with weeds.......that which keeps producing weeds till it covers the face of the ground. And who likes weeds? If you have ever cared for a yard, then you know what I am speaking of, but if not, then you may want to pass over this. BUT this is important and to know what to do for that weed "problem". Are there any thorns that we might be planting in a child's life that we should not be doing? What about an adult child..........yes that grown up person who has a family of their own? What are the "thorns"?

Well, it looks like: knotty, complicated, the ticklish, the troublesome, the annoying, the barbed.
The "thorny" become the difficult to handle! They are the "easily irritated: and will go on the attack on another sibling, a friend or even a parent. Yes, they are thorny! They become the difficult, but very changeable. They can be the unreliable and the erratic in their doing of things.
And yes, everyone gets stuck by their personality. But God wants our place like " a garden: where His peace resides. So who is tending the child's/children's garden? Who is looking over them in prayer for the "hedge of protection" to be in place? Who is asking God for help in this serious situation of a person's life?

Where do we take our child or children and let them have a hey day with those who may the "ones planting the thorns in their lives? What about that place you let them "run" to have some kind of fun, and so they can run off some of that extra energy, yet they come home a little bit more thorny than when they left? They become more erratic and more flighty, any which way that the wind will blow, they seem to go.

thorn: OT....7057......quimmowsh (kim-moshe').........to sting........prickly
in KJV...nettle.....7063

that wall (2040) is broken down.......in ruins

So today is a good time to start placing that "hedge" of protection around them............yes, time to pray and profess the Word that will guard them or even that job you have! What about a ministry where you do something, and your body has been abused by outside forces you did not expect?

Job 1:9-22
9 "Does Job fear God for nothing?" Satan replied. 10 "Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land. 11 But stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face."

12 The LORD said to Satan, "Very well, then, everything he has is in your hands, but on the man himself do not lay a finger."

Then Satan went out from the presence of the LORD.

13 One day when Job's sons and daughters were feasting and drinking wine at the oldest brother's house, 14 a messenger came to Job and said, "The oxen were plowing and the donkeys were grazing nearby, 15 and the Sabeans attacked and carried them off. They put the servants to the sword, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!"

16 While he was still speaking, another messenger came and said, "The fire of God fell from the sky and burned up the sheep and the servants, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!"

17 While he was still speaking, another messenger came and said, "The Chaldeans formed three raiding parties and swept down on your camels and carried them off. They put the servants to the sword, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!"

18 While he was still speaking, yet another messenger came and said, "Your sons and daughters were feasting and drinking wine at the oldest brother's house, 19 when suddenly a mighty wind swept in from the desert and struck the four corners of the house. It collapsed on them and they are dead, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!"

20 At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship 21 and said:

"Naked I came from my mother's womb,
and naked I will depart.
The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away;
may the name of the LORD be praised."

22 In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing.  NIV

The devil can certainly see when there is a hedge of protection around you and yours. He can also know and see for himself when you have not done it. But I remind you that in Job's situation, the protection was still there. And the devil was mad. But Job still worshiped God. Job still spoke and remained. Job had four people to show up at his door. And they each had something to speak about him and his situation!

Let's remember that the devil cannot be everywhere at all times like God is, but he does have his co-hort's in crime and he tries his best with his thousands of years experience to defeat you. But we remind him of the Blood of the Lamb that was spent, poured out for people God loved. Yes the Blood given for many who did not believe in Jesus, did not like His speaking, His truth and shunned Him in every way and in many ways!
Surely we do not want to shun our children or friends, whatever age they may be,  nor do we desire to shun our spouses, or our neighbors when we see them being beaten down by the enemy. Our prayers matter much. The prayers of the righteous will avail much power. So will we do it, and see that hedge come up around them or will we wait till the "trouble" really comes, and then our words with no faith will fall on deaf ears?
God will hear when we are "the humble". God will answer those who have sought Him, believe His goodness for others and He will move when the "tears" are those from the man or woman of humility whose entire trust is in God and Him Alone!
And the enemy will attack when he sees something "big" about to happen to you or your loved  one.

In the blog High Risk!...I wrote about when the trial comes, and at the midnight hour what will be your confession and who will you trust, for it will surely come!
It is coming on a year now since that midnight word........and which the enemy spoke in March 2015. I am still here. I am strong, I am the "soaring". I had many speaking this over me and I am the thriving not just the surviving to see another day.  I am still praying and seeking His purpose for me that is of the good and that which compels me to grow more in HIM, to take the land and prevail for He is with me to be the "victorious". And I believe that for all who read this and are in a trial or tribulation.

From reading from Job 1 we find Job bombarded by many messengers. Each gave a word of loss, and discouragement. He lost his livelihood, his servants, his children. All were gone in a short amount of time. Now this is some kind of circumstance.........and certainly God has shown many things from His Word.
Four people showed up in the life of Job when all hell was raging against him. His wife even told him to curse God and die. Elihu, the true friend came with wisdom of God, and for the other three friends: Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naanmathite, well, we find God's thought for them. Here below we see the account of all which came down to God answering.

Job 42:7-17
7 After the LORD had said these things to Job, he said to Eliphaz the Temanite, "I am angry with you and your two friends, because you have not spoken of me what is right, as my servant Job has. 8 So now take seven bulls and seven rams and go to my servant Job and sacrifice a burnt offering for yourselves. My servant Job will pray for you, and I will accept his prayer and not deal with you according to your folly. You have not spoken of me what is right, as my servant Job has." 9 So Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite did what the LORD told them; and the LORD accepted Job's prayer.

10 After Job had prayed for his friends, the LORD made him prosperous again and gave him twice as much as he had before. 11 All his brothers and sisters and everyone who had known him before came and ate with him in his house. They comforted and consoled him over all the trouble the LORD had brought upon him, and each one gave him a piece of silver and a gold ring.

12 The LORD blessed the latter part of Job's life more than the first. He had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of oxen and a thousand donkeys. 13 And he also had seven sons and three daughters. 14 The first daughter he named Jemimah, the second Keziah and the third Keren-Happuch. 15 Nowhere in all the land were there found women as beautiful as Job's daughters, and their father granted them an inheritance along with their brothers.

16 After this, Job lived a hundred and forty years; he saw his children and their children to the fourth generation. 17 And so he died, old and full of years. NIV

Job had much delivered to him. And he certainly was surrounded by those who like "to gab". But truth should ring out. And who or what person do we allow to surround us?

I would rather be the "the true friend" delivering what God had determined for the one in "the storm", the one who is bombarded by destruction of the devil. STORMS COME!

But Shelley, we have the grace of God and His mercy. We surely do, but the enemy is alive and well.............and  he is also the very old, the very ugly, and the very weak.........because we are to give no place to him. We are to guard our mouths and speak only what God desires us to speak. It is to be truth in HIM and in HIS Word.
What we believe, trust in and declare will determine how we act in a "storm" in that of which Job faced. Surely we believe all to be " of the good" with no problems, but it is always best to keep watch and pray!

So that whatever tomorrow may hold,  we can stand knowing we spoke God's Word over them, that will hold them in place much like the earth is held in space and the Light of God will shine on their hearts to reveal life that comes from Him and continue to show them the way "home". The journey is marked with some hardship, just ask Paul the Apostle. But it is in our repetition of God's Word, expanding our faith into the perfect will of God, we see the hedge placed and enforced.........being made stronger and stronger.  May our family members keep rhythm to the beat of God's Word that is of power, is prayer that seeks His covering and is in the persistence like Christ.
The horizon we seek for our loved ones is the one that looks beyond time. It looks into eternity and what God has purposed for "that loved one". It is what God has for them that give ways to life with a beat, a rhythm in God that will vibrate, and bring influence toward the things of God and away from the broken, the torn down, and the disaster of storms.
They will surely come if you live a full, long life on this planet called earth, but our focus is to be in the "eternity" of God and  HOW do we fare in our department of faith!  Is it that hall " of faith" that which keeps lengthening or is it a 3' x 5' space we stand?

BUT storms come to those even of the "faith". Storms come and how we walk through is determined what we have believed and where our trust resides.

2 Thessalonians 3:1-5

3:1 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you, 2 and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for not all have faith. 3 But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. 4 And we have confidence in the Lord concerning you, both that you do and will do the things we command you. 5 Now may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ.   NKJV

Today, I pray and hope you will stand with me for those who are our grand-children, children, friends like  our young friend Daniel, and many who have faces, but we know not their names. Pray with me for the countless teens who have been thrown to the curb, thrown out from family homes, family relationships, and brought to the lowest place of no value. For God surely values those created in His image. He values life.........and life everlasting, filled with abundance of good that comes from Him!

Father, we pray today that the word of the Lord runs swiftly and be glorified and that those we are believing for today, all the teens abandoned, those Daniels who do not understand that which has come upon them, but knows God.............these we pray that they are delivered from unreasonable and wicked men for not all have faith. But YOU Lord are the faithful who will establish them and guard these teens, our friend like Daniel.........those who have the call and to be a mouthpiece for God through their music, and for those who have run from God! Our confidence is in God the Lord and that which concerns those we pray, that they do and will do the things God has given them to do. May the Lord direct their hearts,  these we cherish, these our future, into His LOVE and into the PATIENCE OF CHRIST.

Show us those whose walls are down, and in ruins. Our desire is to reach out and touch lives in our prayer time. We choose to be those who will be salt to those in pain and in much anguish. If our paths cross their paths Lord, may we have the ability to give them the truth they need and may they be embraced by Your Love. Father, Your Word is true and we hold it up, yes, confess it over our loved ones today. In their time of need, may they have the grace to help in their time of need.   For whatever trials and tribulations, take away the weight of it Lord. Please! Strengthen hearts for any battles ahead, and give patience for them and us as we wait on You.
This journey is for an eternity, for those who have entered Your kingdom, and who profess Your Word, may the wisdom of God come, and help us in any decisions in choosing that to pray for those far from Christ. Oh yes, it is  in Jesus' holy name we  pray. We expect to see the "youth" come to the altar of God, for the Daniel's to be released from the mouths of the lions and the Caleb's to take that mountain. This is the day and the hour. Let's take it in strength and the power of God's Word revealed in Jesus Christ, the hope of glory. Amen.
