Easy Life or Hard Life

How it is so easy to be brave in the easy day of life: no sickness, no disease, no pain, plenty of food and money with nice clothes on our back. But how about the hard day? Is it filled with courage or fainting? Just ask me! I could tell you when your body does not function like it did before, like the young adult, what is my bravery shaped by, or is it?  Is our focus on the Lord when the Doctor or doctors cannot see you till the seasons change? Do we focus on truth or just lies ?

Psalm 119:160 Passion Translation The sum total of all your words adds up to absolute truth, and every one of your righteous decrees is everlasting.

Bravery should reveal this: Psalm 119:162 Your promises are the source of my bubbling joy; the revelation of your word thrills me like one who has discovered hidden treasure.

Easy or hard: we are told to despise every lie and hate every falsehood, for I am passionate about keeping your precepts, I stop to praise you seven times a day, all because your ways are perfect.

So I ask you for your day of life: is it easy or hard? Is your job causing you a great headache? Is it you facing another day of pain or you set on running 10 or 20 miles to keep that weight down to normal? Or are we facing another test to our functioning as the "normal" adult?

Is this God's wonderful WORKS? Psalm 135 Passion Translation reminds us of this in verse 4 For Yahweh has chosen Jacob for his own purposes, and Israel is his special treasure. 5 Next to every other god, the greatness of our God is unequaled for our God is incomparable! 6 He does what he pleases with unlimited power and authority, extending  his greatness throughout the entire universe!

His power is unlimited power and authority and is seen throughout the entire universe. Sorry, doctor does not get the last word. Only truth  will suffice in this day of life in the Lord. Only truth is to shine and be revealed in us and through us. Psalm 135 reminds us that He will vindicate His persecuted people. Verse 15 the unbelieving nations worship what they make. They worship their wealth and their work. They idolize what they own and what they do. 16-18 Their possessions will never satisfy. Their lifeless and futile works cannot bring life to them!

Their things can't talk to them or answer their prayers. Blind men can only create blind things. Those deaf to God can only make a deaf image. Dead means one can only create dead idols. and everyone who trusts in these powerless, dead things will be just like what they worship-----powerless and dead!

That "seven" times we read about is also found in the book of Revelation and it means completeness. It means He will complete His word of faith you know and hold in your heart.

The desert of dust in the eyes, the heat of another decision we face hoping to choose righteously is found among those Psalm 1 speaks. Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands  in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scornful; 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night.

I have not seen the fullness of His truth in me, but I continue to confess by faith He is for me. I may not stand where I did before, but I stand today with bravery because I keep Him close. I keep His truth in my heart.

I pray what you may face in your day of life: God is for you and will fulfill His promises in you. He is returning soon and may you and I be counted among the consistently righteous! Amen.

Not Running After Evil but Pursuing Peace

Psalm 1: 1-3  Amplified Bible  1 Blessed (Happy, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans and purpose], nor stands [submissive and inactive] in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down [to relax and rest], where the scornful [and the mockers] gather. 2 But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree firmly planted [and tended] by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither; and everything he does shall prosper [and come to maturity].

Avoiding the Path of Wicked brings blessings from God.: Romans 6:23 Amplified Bible 23 For the wages which sin pays is death, but the [bountiful] free gift of God is eternal life through ( in union with) Jesus Christ our Lord.

Loving Life and Happiness: 1 Peter 3:10-12 Amplified Bible 10 For let him who wants to enjoy life and see good days [good---whether apparent or not] keep his tongue free from evil and his lips from guile ( treachery, deceit).11 Let him turn away from wickedness and shun it, and let him do right. Let him search for peace (harmony; un-disturbedness from fears; agitating passion and moral conflicts) and seek it eagerly. [Do not merely desire peaceful relations with God, with your fellowmen, and with yourself, but pursue, go after them! 12 For the eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous (those who are upright and in right standing with God), and His ears are attentive to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who practice evil [ to oppress them, to frustrate them, and defeat them].

We are so well-connected yet people are lonely…From verse 11: “do not merely desire peaceful relations with God, with your fellowmen, & with yourself, but pursue, go after them!” You and I are to have peace with ourselves.

1.   Philippians 4:4 reminds us to rejoice in the Lord: Philippians 4:4 in the Amp. Bible 4 Rejoice in the Lord always [delight, gladden yourselves in Him]; again I say, Rejoice!

2.   Happiness is being in the blessed state given by God: Jeremiah 17:7-8 Blessed is the man who trust in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD. 8 For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear (see) when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the ear of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit.

3.   Jeremiah 17:7-8 Amplified Bible 7 [Most] blessed is the man who believes in, trusts in, and relies on the Lord, and whose hope and confidence the Lord is. 8 For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters that spreads out its roots by the river; and it shall be green. It shall not be anxious and full of care in the year of drought, not shall it cease yielding fruit.

Isaiah 59:7-9  Amplified Bible  7 Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood. Their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; desolation and destruction are in their paths and highways. 8 The way of peace they know not, and there is no justice or right in their goings. They have made them into crooked paths; whoever goes in them does not know peace. 9 Therefore are justice and right far from us, and righteousness and salvation do not overtake us. We expectantly wait for light, but [only] see darkness; for brightness, but we walk in obscurity and gloom.

1.   Mischief , those evil deeds will keep God’s blessings from coming to us

2.   Their actions, those running to evil, prove out what they are speaking

3.   In verse 8…..Truth is opposed, and there is not any that pleads for it,…people bent toward destruction with no peace…all their paths are crooked

4.     The way of peace is as little regarded as the way of truth; they know it not, that is, they never study the things that make for peace, no care is taken to prevent or punish the breaches of the peace and to accommodate matters in difference among neighbors;

5.   Being strangers to quiet and peaceable, their lives dictate and affect that which amounts to the blustering and turbulent.

6.   In their ambitious drives, whether for protesting or riots… usually some kind of  hurt comes  to others as to breaking up other people’s businesses or livelihood, robbing from them and breaking out windows or doorways,  but can never do any real service or kindness to themselves by them.

7.   In the walk of their life, they present sin

Proverbs 1:15-16 Amp. Bible 15 My son, do not walk in the way with them; restrain your foot from their path; 16 For their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed blood.

Remember Our Salvation:  Matthew 7:13-14 NKJV 13 "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. NKJV

1.   Narrow 2346 means thlibo…… thlee-bo …to crowd with tribulation or trouble

2.   So the gate has obstacles

3.   Saved by grace through faith :Ephesians 2:8 Amplified Bible 8 For it is by free grace (God’s unmerited favor) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s. salvation ) through [your]faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving]. But it is the gift of God.

Exercising Faith: we walk, we work throughout the process of our growth within God’s purpose

1.   Our salvation is the finished work of Jesus Christ; If laziness is a part of us, then that we cannot overcome that which Jesus overcame at the Cross. To take it by faith, is we receive it in the spirit and confess and believe till it is manifested in this moment of time of which we exist.

2.   In respect to being the lazy person, and not overcoming in our faith walk, though still in God’s kingdom, yet we will fail to reap the rewards of God’s promises to over-comers!

3.   Revelations 12:10-11 NKJV 10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before or God day and night, has been cast down. 11”And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

The Word of Their Testimony: Testimony against Sickness, Testimony Against the label of “special education”, Against the label “Dyslexia”

God’s Word is to be held up against the sickness, the attack against you!

God’s Word directs our steps into His goodness, His peace, and we prosper!

God’s Word is peace to our hearts.  We are to Rejoice and be glad……..not because of the bad report BUT BECAUSE Jesus gave His life to take the ugly thing from my life, that which was sin and death!

(Paul speaks of a group of believer’s the Thessalonians)  Salvation and Thanksgiving: 1 Thessalonians 1: 2- 5; 8-9 Amplified Bible  We are ever giving thanks to God for all of you, continually mentioning [you when engaged] in our prayers. 3 Recalling unceasingly before our God and Father your work energized by faith and service motivated by love and unwavering hope in the [return of] our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) 4 [O] brethren beloved by God, we recognize and know that he has selected (chosen )you; 5 For our [preaching of the ] glad tidings (the Gospel) came to you not only in word, but also in [its own inherent] power and in the Holy Spirit and with great conviction and absolute certainty [on our part]. You know what kind of men we proved [ourselves] to be among you for your good.

8 for not only has the Word concerning and from the Lord resounded forth from you unmistakably in Macedonia and Achaia, but everywhere the report has gone forth of your faith in God [ of your leaning of your whole personality on Him in complete trust and confidence in His power, wisdom and goodness]. So we [find that we] never need to tell people anything [further about it].

9For they themselves volunteer testimony concerning us, telling what an entrance we had among you, and how you turned to God from [your] idols to serve a God Who is alive and true and genuine.

We are to Grow into what He is: Appear alive--Appear true--Appear the genuine---Appearing in His glory and to His praise!

Romans 5:1 NKJV Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

God’s grace defines for us His generosity and His love toward us! The sinful man should not return, for we should know the goodness of God and His favor for us. Knowing God is becoming to know who we are in Him and through Him. Love should start in us 1st and forgiveness should begin within us and our hearts. Not only forgiving those who  have hurt us in some way, shape or form. Someone has broken our hearts when they failed us, but knowing we too as the individual are human and subject to error.

Our salvation is to influence others. Salvation speaks of the things Christ Jesus obtained for us at the Cross! In that salvation we have redemption. We are redeemed from the old man to live out new born again experience that is God, of life, truth and love!

These in 1 Thessalonians 1:8-9 had left behind that which they were educated in of the false and obtained the true inheritance that comes to those who walk after God, receive His instruction and continually seek to look like Him and act like Him!

Unwavering in their love and their hope of Christ’s return, they made the message known to others, declared their loyalty to their Lord God and walked the walk of the one alive unto God! Colossians 2: 13 And you who were dead in trespasses and in the un-circumcision of your flesh (your sensuality, your sinful carnal nature), [God] brought  to life together with [Christ], having [freely] forgiven us all our transgressions.

Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say, Rejoice, v. 4.   Our thoughts of God must be delightful thoughts. Delight thyself in the Lord (Psalm 37:4), In the multitude of our thoughts within us (grievous and afflicting thoughts) his comforts delight our souls (Psalm 94:19), Our meditation of him is sweet, Ps 104:34. . We must not think the worse of him or of his ways for the hardships we meet with in his service. There is enough in God to furnish us with joy in the worst circumstance on earth.  We should have the continual feast of God’s word, and if we do not, then it is our fault that we are not in His joy and peace!

To be free of bondage, we must take the word, speak it out by faith, pull it from the spirit and into the present moment and see it manifested for all our days, then we are truly alive unto God and giving others a view to heaven on earth….

The Responsible or the Irresponsible

If we think about the faithfulness of God, do we see ourselves faithful to Him, to our spouse, to our children and even faithful to our grandchildren? Are we faithful in our job where a committed heart is seen to do the best job without wavering?

Hosea 7:1-4 NKJV  "When I would have healed Israel,

Then the iniquity of Ephraim was uncovered,

And the wickedness of Samaria.

For they have committed fraud; A thief comes in;

A band of robbers takes spoil outside.

2  They do not consider in their hearts

That I remember all their wickedness; Now their own deeds have surrounded them;

They are before My face. 3 They make a king glad with their wickedness,

And princes with their lies. 4 " They are all adulterers.

Like an oven heated by a baker—He ceases stirring the fire after kneading the dough, Until it is leavened.

Yikes! In this, the category of all sinners is the word adulterers! It was a “spirit of harlotry” that had made a way in and through the Israelite culture. Do we see this is true today as well?

I remember in the 1980’s of men appearing before cameras to say they were living a gay lifestyle! Their faces had dark markings, these brown splotches and much bruising from a dreadful disease. These once strong men were now those who had a physique of skin and bone where the disease of AIDS had set up its home. And it was AIDS that was plastered on the cover of magazines, newspapers and on people’s lips! I remember us (our family) talking about! The answer to us seemed simple: STOP IT! But even instructed what that will bring: like diseases like syphilis, herpes, and AIDS, there were also the other things that were seen: like broken homes, broken marriages, rebellious children and then children raised by only one parent. Yet, today we have children coming over the border who do not know their parents or are they likely choosing not to say who their parent is just to escape?

From Hosea 7:3 we see the “ they make the king glad with their wickedness” and in this word, the indication is toward leaders as in business but also education. It can also include a government . Evil is pointed to by the finger of God. It is expressed in those with evil in mind to profit from a never ending cesspool of faithlessness. Yes, they make money and they do it to gain more power! This can be seen of those choosing to pad their own pockets that incites death for a community and possibly the world. Have we not seen that in the age of corona-virus? So the list can include” doctors, the pharmaceutical houses, booksellers, movie makers and some lawyers of late!

WE are told that faithlessness is rising in 2 Timothy 3:1-5   NKJV But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2  For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3  unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4  traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!

Paul, the apostle, declares when he wrote: “evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived” found in 2 Timothy 3:13!

People are human kind and they are The Unreliable Human: Psalm 146:3   NKJV   3 Do not put your trust in princes, Nor in a son of man, in whom there is no help.

Jeremiah 17:5 puts it even more bluntly, "Thus says the LORD: 'Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart departs from the LORD.'"

Human beings, compared to God, are fundamentally untrustworthy. If they do know God, they can depart from Him. While people must be trusted from time to time in everyday life. But there are those times that to lean on them is much like leaning on the broken crutch of human aid. Ultimately, we are bound to be disappointed because people—even the most well-intentioned—will fail us. Just ask anyone! How about asking the folks in Louisiana who are still without power and they have had two more hurricanes to hit them.

People today are no different from when Moses wrote the Pentateuch or Paul his epistles, but the occasion to sin, or the lust to do so has increased with a great frequency and intensity. Thus we likely look like what Noah saw when he went into the Ark for safety as the Flood was about to appear. We have seen an environment changed to commit more sin from the 1980’s of the 20 century to reach a pinnacle of great magnitude where we see human nature is taking advantage of it at every turn and in every arena whether it is in the medical field or on the field of sports! You and I have been born into and yes indeed have unwittingly contributed to creating it!

How many of those R-rated movies did we keep our focus on? How many times did we change from being truthful to lying at some degree about something or against another?  And you and I become the guilty of creating such a place as that environment of lustful attitudes that sin daily and bring down the innocent! Yes that place and position is a place where the faithful is not seen nor heard. So sad to see for what is God purposed is for our good and no evil in our final outcome!

We can see living a life of faithfulness is frowned upon. When living in a world of which self-centeredness is being promoted to its greatest extent in human history, and how many of us still shake our heads at this downward spiral of man? Certainly commercials make the most of those appealing advertisements that gratify us: Why wait, why deny ourselves, do it, you deserve it, why not go along with everyone else?  THAT word is broadcast….”go ahead”….you deserve it! Then this one: YOU would look great in this___________!  Fill in the blank, for you know better than I what you would look great in: a new house, that new Lexus or that cruise you have mooned over for years!

I am amazed at what has come to be the Panavision of adultery displayed for people of all ages to see and where there is no gasp or a quickness to stop the pornographic pictures and slides of people on billboards and on T.V. commercials. There are people in tubs without clothes for young 4 and 5 year old to view with no thought of the depravity of it. And of course, satan, the author of depravity is behind this: with that emotion stirring music, that partially clad couple which is supposed to be somehow attractive and acceptable to those who have no spouse, or those looking for a spouse where the oppressed want because they “deserve that better thing” and are never thinking of the prospect that they are being duped into the world’s thought system!

People do not want war in other countries, but they do not consider the War, the Murder, the Lying, the Stealing, the Coveting, and the Idolatry acts that almost everyone in the world would claim as being wrong yet, they appear constantly within schools, on the streets and within business transactions.

IF you and I would take a look at what was on the scene some 75 years ago, we see that “the trend” was already the beginning in that downward spiral because many unwittingly committed in their heart to promote that kind of behavior because they could. And they justified doing it by speaking that everybody else was doing it, too! Being faithless is playing a role in destruction. And if we play that role…that destruction is on us!

Traitors today appear as those who walk away from a marital contract.  Another traitor is that  parent who failed to protect young child when abuse was seen.  Even manufacturers will lie about the quality of their products they sell. They tell you it is of quality but falls apart upon use of the product once you use it at home. Many decades ago, I remember this commercial for Zenith. They said “quality goes in before the name goes on”.  And what is in a “name” today?

Is the “father of irresponsibility” leading us or are we resisting by what the Lord God gave us from His word?  For in today’s culture irresponsibility is leading in relationships with a disregard to the things of God. God-centeredness in our lives is the answer to faithlessness and irresponsibility. But God-centeredness is not cheap, and few are willing to pay the price: their lives!

In the context of relationship with God we find this in Psalm 50:6 Let the heavens declare His righteousness, for God Himself is Judge. The Old Testament gave a defining term when it is of God and of man. We will know HIM to be JUDGE!

And we see of what occurred in the Garden of Eden. What was chosen as a distinct disregard of what God commanded, the relationship with God was terribly marred as was the relationship between Adam and his wife! Moses was given the Ten Commandments and related laws that defined Israel's relationship with God. In keeping those laws given, they were to act righteously to maintain a relationship that had been begun with a covenant between God and His people.

To obey those laws was to act righteously, because such obedience maintained the covenant relationship between God and His people. It is man who will never maintain any kind of righteousness of his own planning. But a table was set. It was the Cross, where a public display demonstrated the righteousness of God and those who believe in Jesus will have that righteousness imputed to them. It is God Who transferred the righteousness of Christ to those who trust in Him according to Galatians 3:5-6 NKJV Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?---just as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.  ( Also seen in Romans 4:3-22; Philippians 3:9) We do not become righteous because of our inherent goodness; God sees us as righteous because of our identification by faith with His Son.

A Faithful Person is seen in Matthew 24!  Matthew 24:45-51  NKJV  45 "Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? 46 Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing. 47  Assuredly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all his goods. 48 But if that evil servant says in his heart, "My master is delaying his coming," 49  and begins to beat his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunkards, 50 the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him and at an hour that he is not aware of, 51 and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

The parable of the faithful and evil servants certainly teaches us to be faithful and wise in carrying out responsibilities and relationships with our fellow servants, yes, our brothers in the body of Christ.  For you and I should desire to be the prudent, the sensible showing that sound judgment in understanding people in situations and displaying discernment when dealing with them. That also means dealing with them daily not just on say Saturday or on Sunday!

Jesus gives us the  “wise” as those who exercise restraint, using sound and practical wisdom! We should be those who act in a godly manner where God’s love is seen. As the faithful, we are about loving our neighbor as we love ourselves. (Matthew 22:39).

And since we have people around us daily, we should allow Christ to lead us in that way that unites and inspires others to be faithful as well. And you and I can do this: by giving them the truth, a good example, and encouragement. In this way, we become wise and faithful stewards of the trust God has given us.

In “where we stand” , we are hopefully standing in the position  that is of a righteous person who believes in the Lord’s return so that our belief will be the set point to expect Him and that our conduct, that behavior would display that expectancy to be alert, the watchful and remain in the righteous mode where God expects us to remain.

May we not be the arrogant, violent, self-indulgent, gluttonous, and hypocritical servant, the one who believes he has plenty of time to square his relationship with God, as his conduct has become evil. For in this day and within this hour we have those who would dictate your life to you that is of the world: the false apostles, politicians, the false prophets, the media, and the false teachers, educators. For that of God is of truth to live and not die and declare God. It is the faithful in God who appear as the wise, the ready….the faithful who take a stand for God!

Psalm 62:5     Find rest, O my soul, in God alone ; my hope comes from him. 6 He alone is my rock and my salvation he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. 7 he is my mighty rock, my refuge. 8 Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. 11 One thing God has spoken, two things have I heard: that you, O God, are strong, 12 and that you, O Lord, are loving. Surely you will reward each person according to what he has done.

 Amen!

Helmet Head

Ephesians 6:13-18 NKJV  13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 and take the helmet of salvation, & the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance & supplication for all the saints----

Is our helmet of salvation in place? Heard another teaching from this passage and was reminded of earlier years of watching football on T.V. with my husband. It was late seventies of last century and some of those players had  great heads of hair. And should they remove their helmet after several plays, their hair-do now matched the shape of their helmet.

In view of this, do we recognize the importance of having head gear in place? The sport of football involves lots of contact. The amount of contact people have every day, I wondered why there was not more emphasis on the truth of how serious those injuries are to a person's head. Many who suffer severe trauma to their head and or neck sometimes never recover full use of their body's operation.

There was recent report of the head injuries each year sustained by those who ride bikes and even motor cycles. In this article or news information regarded the country but named the Northwest specifically because of the greater number of those who persistently use their bike or motorcycles for use during the warmer yet still somewhat rainy season of the northwest region. But this report had also included another group, those who ride those scooters. And the injuries from one city was a great number involving those who should know better as they are in their 30's and 40's who rode scooters either for the two hour tour time or 4 hour play time.

I know we never leave for a bike ride without that head support nor does our grand-daughter when she rides her bike!
But there must still remain a group, for whatever reason they refuse to wear any head gear. For the numbers certainly appear for those injured during sports, play or travel within a city or county of the northwest.

From verse 13 we are told to put on the whole armor of God, that you and I may be able to stand against evil in the evil day. And when we have done this whole armor thing, you and I stand.

We know this to be spiritually, but the importance is still the main point. Spiritually weak will one lie down in weakness and torment.  We are given a description of how to stand vigorously. It begins by girding our waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness. We are to read and know what God has said to us through His prophets and apostles. We are to be equipped with the word of God just like Jesus was in the wilderness at the beginning of His ministry.

We put on the breastplate of righteousness when we conform to God's will. His will and way is perfect. We should want to conform to them. Our feet are to be shod with the gospel of peace. In reading and meditating on His truths, we are guided by those truths.
Psalm 37:23 NKJV The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, and He delights in his way. 24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; for the LORD upholds him with His hand.
I was also reminded of this: Psalm 50:22-23 Now consider this, you who forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be done none to deliver: 23 Whoever offers praise glorifies Me, and to him who orders his conduct aright I will show the salvation of God.

Had heard this testimony this morning by Lester Summrall and it occurred around the eighties I think he said. He was an evangelist for the Lord and saw many people come to salvation. In his story, he told of this young girl who received salvation. Within this young teen girl, her life had been changed dramatically and had been going to church. She was wanting to serve there after receiving her salvation. In this household, her older brother made her leave the church. He showed up at church while she was there and made her leave with him.  He continued to harass and abuse her about her belief in God and how she did not need that.

Well, as the young man continued to harass and intimidate her, one day while he was out plowing a field during the day he had died in the field.  Dr. Lester Summrall said he had been called out to this this tragic event. The young man who aggravated with constant verbal abuse about the Lord to his sister had been hit by a lightning strike with no clouds in the sky! It was on a cloudless day that they found he had been burned to where his clothes were non existent, and one of his shoes was thrown many yards away.  Yes, they knew he had been struck by lightning.
Tragic the young man did not realize you do not mess with God's children! Of this family, one survived for her love for God and the other went to his doom. God gave mercy and one refused it.

Receiving God and His truths we receive His peace. Jesus told His disciples, " Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives but as I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

We take the shield of faith with which you and I are able to quench the fiery darts of the wicked one. Have you ever played darts? Have you ever played with fiery ones? No!
Well just think of how that would play out that which is fiery against you. The enemy is throwing them at you constantly.  Think the devil is out just for "games"?
We then take the "helmet of salvation" and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; and we pray with faith in our heart.
We confess God's word to the enemy. We confess it loud and clear just in case he, the enemy, is hard of hearing! We read God's word and put it in our hearts.
When the fiery darts are flying we remind the devil what God has told us about our future:

A. Psalm 16:11 You will show me the path of life: in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

B. Ephesians 6:10,11 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
C. Psalm 9:1-4 I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works. I will be glad and rejoice in You: I will sing praise to Your name, O ‘ most High. When my enemies turn back, they shall fall and perish at Your presence.  For You have maintained my right and my cause; You sat on the throne judging in righteousness.
D. Psalm 32:7 You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from trouble; You shall  surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah.

E.  Psalm 119:130 The entrance of Your words gives light; it gives understanding unto the simple.
F.  Psalm 28:7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoices; and with my song will I praise him.
G.  1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
H.  John 4:23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father is seeking such to worship him.
I.  Mark 9:23 Jesus said to him, If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.
J. Isaiah 40:31 But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

We have the Holy Spirit to guide us and He tells us things to come. Jesus told us He would send us the Comforter. But also know He is the Comforter Who is also a judge and He judges the thoughts and intents of one's hearts.
Read the book of Revelation!
May we be committed to wear that Helmet of Salvation knowing a great price was paid that we could have a life that is from the grace of God.  For truly He loves and He is the giver of good things to His children, but we must follow His instructions and keep to His path of light. To venture away from God and out into those paths of destruction, death comes without warning and without life with Him forever. By His sacrifice let us bind ourselves to His words and walk as He walked and see our salvation come to the place where we meet Jesus face to face and receive that crown of life. Oh to HIM be glory forever and ever. Amen.
