Is the Shield Working?

When flooding rivers cover golf courses, block roadways and cause chaos...
Have been reading through the book of Proverbs and surely we need the wisdom of God for every decision we make today and everyday. Proverbs 30:5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in Him.
To put God in that place is putting His word there, is speaking it by faith, placing it before the unseen enemy and declare it daily.
We are told in Ephesians 6 and verse 16 this: "above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Now of course we know the wicked one to be satan himself! 1 John 5:4 for whatever is born of God overcomes the world---our faith. 5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
Romans 10:17 reminds us :"so then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

We must know the word of God! Psalm 119:113 I hate the double-minded, but I love Your law. Now that hate is referring to the one who has a divided heart or divided mind. And we know those "folks" to be unstable in all their ways. James 1:8....he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

A river out of its banks is unstable, and it will run its way or course that is when the bank is weakened by much rain and it overflows, it will wash away any surrounding ground around the weakened area. In the said region a tremendous rainfall will overwhelm any rivers or creeks with more water and they will in turn begin to move with a force as the volume is increased to move into areas like the golf course in picture above and into neighborhoods.

So too, when something occurs in a person's life and they do not have knowledge of the word of God, they will begin to be overwhelmed by the continuing false reports even though the x-ray or any other tests might prove that "something exists " in a certain part of body, knowing God's truth, we should be speaking to that "ugly " thing that we deny its right to exist in the body we call our own.
We must continue to read and have knowledge of the Holy One!
We should also learn as much as we can of what the report might be about, but we also must know Jesus took all that to the Cross. WE must speak truth about the said report given in the light of Jesus Christ.

You and I cannot live by our emotions. Proverbs 4:23 Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life. 24 Put away from you a deceitful mouth, and put perverse lips far from you.
We are to keep our heart and value what we put it from the word of God. We should protect our heart from hearing of false reports, those things that are counter to God's thoughts and ways. How we communicate, give attention to and yes even our behavior has it start in our hearts.
If we meditate long hours of "soap" opera lifestyles, then your life or mine could certainly look like a soap opera before us. We are to put away anything that is perverse from us and keep working toward seeing that transformed life Jesus came to give us in and through salvation.
Jesus told us this in Mark 7:20-21 "What comes out of a man, that defiles a man 21 for from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders...

No, our shield should be up! Each of us will experience trials, those times of anguish or even sorrow. And when we visit say the book of Psalms, we find those who have their fill of tribulations and sorrows. Still the walk of faith is adhering to God. We should come to Him about that which might bring about "the fear factor", or that which we have unbelief in, yet God proves His faithfulness time and again. Speak out to Him with cries of your heart, but also bring forth those promises He has given to us in His word the Bible. Cry out, but also understand HIM when you are troubled!

Emotions we carry are not based on His truths. Think about the good He has brought to you and yours. Meditate on Him and talk of His good deeds with other's. Choose life in Him and expect Him to bring you through the "trial, the ugly tribulation" and remember God has a plan for you and He planned a good plan. When the rain begins to fall, may you not be overwhelmed. May you rejoice and know your shield is in place when you have chosen to follow Him all the days of your life. Earnestly seek today to have an undivided heart, fear the Lord and carry a heart of praise.

Father, I pray, in Jesus’ name for all who have read this and faith in YOU to redeem  soul’s today from negative emotions. You have said in YOUR Word that You redeem our souls when we put our trust in You according to Psalm 34:22. May each person never be controlled by depression, anger, anxiety, jealousy, hopelessness, fear, or suicide.  Specifically, I pray about anger and depression. Deliver them today from this and all other controlling emotions. (Psalm 40:17).
It is only You WHO can deliver and heal, but use me today as Your instrument of restoration. Enable the hearers of this word  to understand and embrace words to speak and bring life.  Liberate them to cry when the need is there to do that thing! May they have the the gift of laughter and ability to find humor in even serious situations. May they sincerely take their eyes off of their circumstances and trust in You, regardless of how they may be feeling at this moment of time!
Thank YOU Lord for patience to possess their soul and the ability to take charge of it (Luke 21:19) . Anoint them with the “oil of joy” (Isaiah 61:3), refresh them with Your Spirit, and set them  free from negative emotions this day. Amen and Amen!

Do WE LIVE by EVERY WORD of God?

Hey, is that a pumpkin scone?

In thinking on the seasons, we certainly take note of the ads that run current to those times of the year say like October where pumpkins are set on doorsteps. I would rather mine in a pie sliced out hot and on a plate with whipping cream, please!  Was hearing today on the news that people should make their trips to visit the pumpkin fields early while it is still dry for the rain is coming and the rest of the week will be a “wash”.
Now for you who know not what that “wash” is: it is an event cancelled due to uncontrolled circumstances. It has been used for baseball, for track meets and sometimes marathons.
But if we truly search the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, we find no commands—not even a suggestion— for visiting that pumpkin field in search of the “great pumpkin”  or even if we look further , we do not find one to commemorate the Savior's birth. It is amazing to consider that professing Christians around the world keep days and festivals never once enjoined on them in God's Word (Sunday, Good Friday, Easter, Halloween, Christmas), yet the ones God tells them to keep (the Sabbath, Passover, God's holy days), they ignore!
In thinking on this, I was reminded of the rich young ruler:  Matthew 19:16-18 that, to have eternal life, he should not bear false witness, which is the ninth commandment.
Matthew 19:16-18 Now behold, one came and said to Him, “Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?” 17 So He said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.” 18 He said to Him, “Which ones?” Jesus said, “You shall not murder, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness.” 19 Honor your father and your mother and You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

Exodus 20:16 You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

Now we know if there is a false thing given to anyone, then, there is hate involved. But Jesus tells us this in Matthew 5:33-37 Again you have heard that it was said to those old, You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform your oaths to the Lord. 34 But I say to you, do not swear at all neither by heaven, for it is God’s throne, 35 nor by the earth, for it is His footstool, not by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. 36 Nor shall you swear by your head, because you cannot make one hair white or black. 37 But let your ‘Yes be ‘Yes’ and your ‘No’, No’. For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.

So from His Sermon on the Mount: the kingdom that had come by salvation meant that we speak truthfully.  It is our God-given assignment to give truth as Jesus gave it. And as Jesus sacrificed His life to bring that peace, we are to make advancements in that direction that looks like harmony with other individuals, families and nations.

And most certainly we know that Jesus was not born in the winter time! Some teachings place His birth in the Fall season of the year! My sister tells me often that if we were to know that date of His birth, we would have been given that detail. But more important is that He lived as sent by the Father to bring deliverance those on their way to HELL!

So yes, we can see Christmas continues. Human nature deceives itself into practicing things that are not right because “they are such great fun” to be had! In truth many people go out and buy many gifts to get themselves into debt for that pleasingly good time. To them it does not matter the cost but the good time enjoyed by all!
But should we bring the Bible into it: John 8:44 reminds us this….44b When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.
So anyone who thinks Christ came at Christmas is wrong and anyone who speaks it, is not speaking truth!!!

Was reading an article recently where they gave an account of the early “Christian “Saint Nicholas. Yes he was a churchman who was known for spreading some cheer in the terms of wealth to the needy. In his endeavor he reached his community by the act of throwing sacks of coins through open windows and down chimneys.
Question here: was there a fire burning on the floor of that chimney when the money fell down? Just a thought about that act. But alas, he, the churchman,  is not found in the actual version of the gospel of Jesus’ birth.

Fall is a great time of year. It is full of vibrant color. Cooler evenings and afternoons, give away to the nights that seem crisp and winds that appear blustery. And in all this, the great thing is that the pumpkins can be made into pies, pumpkin loafs, pumpkin rolls with the creamy centers and the such. Christmas, well it really does not exist as to truth in the Bible.  Christmas was never about Jesus’ birth because He was not born at that time. Many early historians of Israel place His birth as around the last week of September to the first two weeks of October. And yes, His conception could have taken place by December 25, but not His birth!
The greatest event though appeared in the City of David, a Savior Who is Christ the Lord! We know wise men came to bring gifts to the KING. It did not say they came to celebrate His birthday, but the KING!
Whatever you do this Fall season or winter, our thoughts should be about obeying the Word of God. Jesus lived by the very words of God and so should we!

A Do-Gooder

Salt & Light
Acts 10:36-41 NKJV 36 The word which God sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ-----He is Lord of all----- 37 that word you know, which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, and began from Galilee after the baptism which John preached: 38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. 39 And we are witnesses of all things which He did both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem, whom they killed by hanging on a tree. 40 Him God raised up on the third day, and showed Him openly, 41 not to all the people, but to witnesses chosen before by God, even to us who ate and drank with Him after He arose from the dead.

Ever hear of someone speaking of maybe a friend, family member or themselves as being "a do-gooder".
But scripture tells us that the person who does good is one who is baptized, anointed by the Holy Spirit and who goes about like Jesus did, healing all who were oppressed by the devil.
Simple, right?
God is with us when we receive Jesus as Lord of our lives. Confessing Him with our mouths, that is by repenting of sins, repenting of the past life and by faith receive the new life or the new man in Him!

Still though, I hear from new broadcasts to the on-line sector video news to heralding a " do-gooder" dying suddenly, or in regard to some freakish event.
Jesus was the Word of God! John 1:14-18 NKJV And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. 15 John bore witness of Him and cried out saying, "This was He of whom I said, He who comes after is preferred before m,e for He was before me." 16 and of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. 17 For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.

Jesus came to bring the love of the Father. He declared Him. Jesus spoke of the kingdom of God which had come. It was seen as preaching peace. Jesus went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil for God was with Him.

So it would be easy to see when God is not with someone, right? God is love, but Jesus told us in John 14:6 ...."no one comes to the Father except through Him.
Jesus told us this in John 15:15-17 .....No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. 17 These things I command you, that you love one another.

This is what the "do-gooder" looks like: they sound like Jesus, their lives imitate His life and they declare the Father. Our lives should have fruit that is to have more life, more fruit produced living our life that points to the Father, the Creator of the Heavens and Earth!

Heard on a teaching today by Kenneth Copeland. He was speaking of the time when the Queen Mary was to be raised out of the ocean water in Long Beach, California and place on land where it was going to be built into a hotel. He spoke they had a Believer's Convention about the time it started some years ago and he said, "the men meticulously removed the first smoke stack from its position, and placed it on the deck with no one touching it.

He said it was suddenly that the enormous smoke stack that looked so beautiful with the fine paint instantly crumbled to the floor of the dock. In awe, people ran to look at "what just happened in an instant"! He said that what was revealed was nothing but layers of paint for the salt air had corroded the very metal of the smoke stack. It was only the the outside the facade!

Yes, that salt water air had corroded the metal on that smoke stack! It was the metal that held the shape, but paint remained only when the metal was gone. So too, we must remember that being saved, we are moved into that which should have no pathways for sin to run rampant. The Father loves us and staying close to Him through Jesus connects us to truth and to light. Outside of that it is just a facade.

People who remain in Jesus should do what Jesus did without going to the Cross, but nailing the flesh creature must be applied. Our emotions should not lead us into sin. Scripture tells us the if our eye or hand offends remove it.
Matthew 5:27-30 NKJV You have heard that is was said to those of old, "You shall not commit adultery. " 28 But I say to you, that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. 30 And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut if off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than your whole body to be cast into hell.

We cannot just appear good like the smoke stack, we are to have hearts connected to the Him who has key of life in Him. Just quoting some scripture does not make us a "do-gooder" in God. It is not enough to just walk through life without making the commitment to Him.
When a man and woman get married, it is to be for life through the continual communication and covenant between them. So many lose that connection and divorce usually finding out too late that freedom truly was in the connection they had at the first in their relationship!
Those who truly understand that the "salt" maintains the effectiveness in adhering to the kingdom that had come. The norm is for us to be salt and light. In that regard as the disciple of Jesus we are to act as the preservative in a world by conforming to kingdom reality or truths. Adhering to His words of truth we remain the strong strengthened in Him. Without Him, then we would appear as the smokestack from the ship Queen Mary cruise-liner!
Surely salt will stall the decay of the meat....and for us it will do the same. Oh, it so vital to stay connected to the Lord, and to know we have the Holy Spirit, we have the open communication to continue in the life-giving grace that has come from the Father of lights and in whom there is no changing ....He never changes His mind toward us.
We must not change our minds either, for to do so well, we would end up looking that beautiful smoke stack for awhile to only end up a heap on the dock of some port. No! We should want to remain in Him for life. Amen!

Undivided Attention

Voice of Prayer
Was thinking of this month and all the things people have applied as to holidays and such. It is October, guys! It is that desperate look people get on their faces for the entire month. I always wonder why they are desperate for that which really has no life to a person other than maybe scaring you out of any wits you might have.
Truly I always wonder who came up with the costumes and the candy thing. No undivided attention now for this is important to many. When growing up, there was even then some who did not approve and I can see why. Some I knew had gotten you know those "razor blades" in their candy bars. Yes pretty destructive behavior if it was done by kids indeed.
Was reminded of the ghost in Matthew 14:26. Already troubled by high water waves, these grown men went further to the depths of "crazy thinking and crazy speaking"!

Matthew 14:22-33 NKJV 22 Immediately Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, while He sent the multitudes away. 23 and when He had sent the multitudes away, he went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, he was alone there. 24 But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary. 25 Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. 26 And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear. 27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.” 28 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” 29 so he said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” 31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” 32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased. 33 Then those who were in the boat came and  worshiped Him saying, ‘Truly, You are the Son of God.”

Was thinking and meditating on this for some days now! Went and looked up in the Dake’s Bible and it had some interesting things to say about the fisherman in that day. They say the fisherman”, had this thinking like an old “fable” that if they saw a ghost walking on the water, their ship would sink and all would die! Yeah, they had faith in fantasy. Now that will surely kill you for certain!
Jesus had just come from prayer time with His Father. He was in unity with His Father and came walking on “water”. Peter already had some amount of doubt within his heart and even in his speaking, he expresses it. “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to you on the water.”   That is a dangerous place to be. In truth, we are to seek Jesus and truly see Him. (there is no life in ghosts, zombies or satan)
Hebrews 2:9…But we see Jesus…( He who tasted death for everyone)
Hebrews 3:1 Amp. Bible …who share in the heavenly calling thoughtfully and attentively consider Jesus…( be attentive that Jesus is the APOSTLE, GOD’S REPRESENTATIVE TO US & as our High Priest He is our representative to God)
Hebrews 12:2 ….looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.
Undivided attention was what Jesus held for those He ministered to in the multitude. He sought the Father when the people were sent away. AND He, Jesus, followed in more prayer for the disciples. He sought prayer for the disciples, those in His care. Motivated by power from on high, Jesus walked across the turbulent waters….that under His feet, He Jesus would go to those under His care.
He, the High Priest we know of from Hebrews 3, He who walked in seeking to care for His own, prayed to the Father and went out in power of God to do what He did. He, Jesus, sought through prayer the next step in obedience to the Father.
Peter cried out, “Lord if it is You, command me to come to you on water.” I wonder how many times we just climbed out to show the “peeps, the crowd of believer’s, those who walk with us …that we have our trust in the Lord only to find, we question the move, we question that which is turbulent around us and then ask: Lord if it is You, command me……WHEN our truest example was given to us from this very passage of scripture to change our lives. WE are to see Jesus and know Him for His prayer life and of His love for people. We are to be thoughtful in that and very attentive on Jesus as our High Priest, who also intercedes for us to the Father.
As the builder of the bridge between two hearts, we also must seek to see that bridge is built of ours to the Father through Jesus and of the bridge between other believer’s in Christ. Jesus stretched out His hand and caught Peter and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”
Adventure, indeed, turbulence mentioned, still prayer played a key here. Another is that our thoughts should be fixed on Jesus. Being reminded He was not reflective or moved into old wives tales, of seeing ghosts on the water and of ships sinking, Jesus waivered not of the boisterous waves.
These kind of things can appear in your life, but remember to take away from it prayer and thanksgiving that Jesus is truly the Son of God! When it is time, you will walk where He desires you to be and do what He commands. YOU will be strengthened to go through and make a difference in your community for His glory and to His praise.  Amen!

What are We Embracing Today?

Embracing the dangerous might hold you by its thorns!
Proverbs 12:26 The righteous should choose his friends carefully, for the way of the wicked leads them astray.
What does evil imply when applied to daily living? Scripture tells us to choose our friends carefully and many people choose to go with the "crowd". Some remain close to family for "a hand-out" while others look for various ways to get rich quick! Still the word of God, His very wisdom tells us to choose our friends carefully!

You can pick a crowd, any crowd, like the one at the coffee shop, the crowd at the Mall, the crowd at the workplace and within them you will find at least one person either male or female remarking of someone in the world won the lottery, someone bet on "something" with their last buck in hand and won some pile of money or else they are that someone "who"  was just given "a new car" when they "just" walked in the door of a store downtown.
And many times, yes, the "righteous" fellow will gravitate to follow the crowds roar of enthusiasm for those who made it rich overnight, became a new car owner or even of that person who instantly experienced loss of weight overnight.

Anyone knows that keeping healthy takes more than just healthy eating. It takes more than just reading on the latest health tips available to us.  It also takes exercise and good sleep at night to heal a body and give it strength.
Others know that the best foot forward is out the door to the job and out the door to make a difference for your family. But there remains the man or woman who choose to seek the easy way out. They seek to gravitate toward the couch, stay out of gyms or even the paths to exercise the "dog" and continue to the ever growing waistline. They seek to avoid the workplace by looking for a simple hand-out!

Ask anyone who has really lost weight and how they at the very beginning of the "want to" within them, they turned to a spouse for support, they turned toward applying some effort to getting back to being the size 10 or the size 12 by eating less foods, picking healthier foods like fresh vegetables and they prayed over their endeavor to lose weight. It takes the diligent person to find the rowing machine, the outerwear for the rainy season to hit the paths in the rain & where the joggers are found regularly, exercising their way to the more healthy body for long life.

So if one finds friends who travel the wine tasting avenue, then there could arise some potential hazards to the wine tasting adventure. One might turn out to be a real "taster" to never stop.
On the other hand, you might run with the crowd who loves to  stand in long lines for lottery tickets to win the next big bundle to just go buy more lottery tickets. Yikes!

Proverbs 12:24  The hand of the diligent will rule, but the lazy man will be put to forced labor. Yes there are many who want to live in the mansion. There are many who want to drive that "exotic" looking car without the work behind the effort to gain such things. The slothful will not rule! Those lazy in attitude will remain slothful. They will devise their way from their sofa or couch.
To really work, is to put effort in that which we are hired to do and do it to the point of where we are learning to increase in productivity. My husband is one who wanted to learn as much as he could of the maintenance side of machines, the maintenance of anything that would produce energy to mankind. In that he learned skills, not found in books but with "all hands" on the job and in detail of the very work. In that today, he teaches many others how to apply those skills.
In recent weeks, I had noticed of the special reports of those in cities looking to put more emphasis on what people call the blue collar worker. In that is the person who has learn the trades: welders, electricians, mechanics, iron-workers, etc. For in this the 21st century there is a laborless force for what is called the "blue collar" worker. Many women are choosing that field many frown upon today as it pays too little for them to live. But when one really looks at the whole picture, many are choosing to have "no labor" a part of their lifestyle. They want: easy, free if possible, with no loss of that which they really like and entertain in their hearts to have.
Then one can also find those who say they are doing their work, but later find that while a specific problem reared its head, the person or persons involved or should have been involved were off like someone on Facebook! Surely if we are hired to do a specific job, then we should do it to the ability God has given us to do our work.

Something for nothing seems to be the motto of many people and of those coming from other countries as well! It appears that some people choose welfare instead of actually living a life to the full that God planned for us to live. Even today we find those who would rather play games than work.  But this great land was built by the strength of arm and the sweat of the brow.
I think of my Savior who walked to many cities in His day to make sure others would know of the love that had come from the Father of lights and of whom there is no variableness. He never changes His mind. He does not change His word to fit us, we spend time in His word to find out what we truly look like and how we are to act. So that one day we will see the actual image God planned for us what it looks like and how to live that image.
Hopefully we are embracing truth and not lies. Hopefully our eyes are on Jesus and that we have strength and power through the Holy Spirit to move through this life in that which pleases God. In this hopefully we awoke today and rose to walk another day in the glory of the Lord, to hear Him speak and how we can be a blessing to others. This was never meant for hand-outs but a hand-up to see God's love, and bask in the beauty of Him. Today commit your works unto the Lord and your thoughts shall be established. (Proverbs 16:3) Be fixed in Him, and when you do, He leads and controls your thoughts toward life, to brand-new information that is from His treasury of wisdom. Really there is no alternative!
