Why Are You Weeping?

Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping?  Whom are you seeking ?"  She supposing Him to be the gardener, said to Him, "Sir, if You have carried Him away, tell me where You have laid Him, and I will take Him away." 16 Jesus said to her,  "Mary!" She turned and said to Him, "Rabboni! ( which is to say Teacher). 17 Jesus said to her,  "Do not cling to Me for I have not yet ascended to My Father, but go to My brethren and say to them, "I am ascending to My Father and your Father, to My God and your God.18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that He had spoken these things to her.  John 20:15-18  New King James Version

Jesus had been crucified on a cross. Here she views a man as the gardener! How would He been dressed? What gave her that idea to ask "the supposed gardener " where Jesus had been moved? She is in a cemetery. This is somewhat desert area used only for tombs.

A kingdom that is God ruled appeared as the Garden of Eden. Jesus came to show that we live by faith, speaking the same as God and it is seed we sow for life!

In the kingdom of God we come to live by the standards God has set for us to live by! It is not only to be alive but to stay alive for His glory, to be preserved & flourish. It is to enjoy life again by His standard of living, to recover in health and to breathe out for His glory & His praise.

It is not rights that rule, but a righteous God who leads by His voice of truth for purpose.  He asked Adam where they were at. And he responded by speaking they were naked. They took off the goodness of God and put on the world!

To flourish in God, preserved for Him and His plan is by residing in the secret place.  WE abide in His presence to hear His voice speak, to receive dreams and to listen to Him. Within that posture we meet with Him daily. We come to listen & record what He speaks to us! It is one characterized by faithfulness to God that appears as consistent in a belief with a steadfast heart to God that is true & every man is found a liar!

Life in God's Garden: Genesis 2:8 The LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed. 9 And out of the ground the LORD God  made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

God made pleasant things to the sight and good for food. But in this reality of God, man would choose that of human choice for own delights! They heard the sound of God walking in the garden. And they were afraid. They had listened to the voice of the world and not to God Who created it. ( the earth)

Jesus was bullied because people said He was a mistake his mother Mary made. But Jesus is the Son of GOD. No mistake here! Joseph, the natural father on earth died early in his years. Jesus was hated by Pharisees and Sadducees and others. He sought to give people the truth of the Father. He sought to let others know what God would do when they hear Him. At one point some of His own friends would try to throw Him off the brow of a hill!

In the tomb area, Mary M. saw a man and presumed the "gardener". True the gardener came to set us on the path of planting God's word. Was Mary consumed in death and dying? WAS she tuned into the doom and gloom of a loss? People in prison are tuned into prison life. They get out and find other people who served time. They can end up back in the place of destruction.

So when Mary M. found it was Jesus and would meet them soon, she moved to tell the others and where was their thinking set? Let us keep in tune with a Jesus who is alive! He settle it all....finished what He came to do. He spoke to the demonic activity in the grottos. He delivered the love of the Father.

Maturing in Christ is Vital. It is vital to know Him, speak with Him, honor and delight to see the future with Him. Like John the apostle, our walk started by the conversion. We became those disciples that Jesus loves!. They are the humble, the submitted, who relinquished lives to appear in the fullness of Jesus Christ. The walk continues growing ever closer to Him, to know His ways in truth and life!

Here is a future listed as the "garden"! Ezekiel 34:29 I will raise up for them a garden of renown, and they shall no longer be consumed with hunger in the land, nor bear the shame of the Gentiles anymore. This a return back to what God began.

A planting place is found. It is in God. It is by faith seeing the unseen. If we faint, He will revive. If we cannot walk He causes us to walk again. If we cannot see Him He causes us to see Him. If we cannot hear ....the sound will be heard.....the wind of Him walking in the garden we plant with His word. It never fails!

We heard that gentle voice, we felt the warmth of His embrace and today we are not to shake and quake at what is going on in this world. We are to remember we are in Him, where the Holy Spirit appeared to guide us in wisdom, understanding, counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge, and the fear of the Lord. On the other side of the Cross, we see Him as He really is!  We are the creation, and we are to praise the Creator for His goodness to US! That praise should be audible and it should be constant…to see the Goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

When He speaks, may we be aware that His voice that carries the sounds of many waters. Isaiah 43: 1 b “Fear not, for I have redeemed you. “I have called you by your name.; You are Mine. 2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you, when you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you. 3 For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.

Humility Over Worldliness

In reading this week I saw the word “tent” in Psalm 84:10-11 Amplified Bible: 10 for a day in Your courts is better than a thousand [anywhere else]. I would rather be a doorkeeper and sand at the threshold in the house of my God than to dwell [at ease] in the tents of wickedness. 11 For the Lord God is a Sun and Shield; the Lord bestows [present] grace and favor and [future] glory (honor, splendor and heavenly bliss)! No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

How many want to live among the wicked in these days? Here the author mentions he would rather live at the threshold of the house of God than to dwell among the wickedness in the tents. Then in verse 11, he mentions the Lord God is a Sun and Shield. Jesus is our Shield. He bestows on us grace, favor and future glory with added glory which is the honor, splendor and heavenly bliss of God. No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

In this 21st century terminology one sees rebellion that is made of murky and confused thinking. It is one that is “a world separated from its Creator”. This is seen as the counterfeit pursuits that has nothing to do with God, but everything to do with man & his plans. Yes, it has everything to do with the world indeed.  Whether it has to do with what gender you are, it matters to God that he made us each either male or female. What you came equipped with is who you are today!  God does not make mistakes. Today the psychologists are trying to remove guilt from our thought life in the very words that we speak in daily use and in our working environment. People want pronouns and God wants obedience to His commands!

No Hormones nor knives can cut away what God has placed in me. No amount of speaking, gender pronouns, no manipulation on man’s part can change what God has purposed for the life of people on earth.

Nothing can change who I am. Nothing in man has any power over me or over men. I can and do know the will of God and have His ways and thoughts lead me. But man can do nothing. He is vapor. James 4: 14 Whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life. It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. 15 Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.”

Psalm 39:5 Indeed, You have made my days as handbreadths, and my age is as nothing before You; certainly every man at his best state is but vapor.   Selah  6 Surely every man walks about like a shadow; surely they busy ( make an uproar for nothing) themselves in vain; He heaps up riches, and does not know who will gather them.

Many things can make one angry! But once you gain a look on the closing door, death’s final blow, you find that life is short indeed. And what was that which made me angry? Are they even alive today? Did I really say that?

James is so right: Life is a vapor! Like a morning mist that soon vanishes, so life is short and uncertain. There are no guarantees about tomorrow, let alone next year or ten years from now. Certainly in the last twenty years, we have seen the Twin Towers come down by people who were nothing more than suicidal. Heard of a man of another country who took the life of about thirty-three children who were pre-school age and then went home and finished his work on his wife and two children. What glory did he gain? Did he find dignity? No to both questions would be our answer.

Did God plan this? No! It is many people who have help from the Bible to see and hear clearly. Yet they take no advantage of His truth! You may be young and healthy this morning, but you easily could be a corpse by sundown tonight. You may be thinking, “ Well, That’s a morbid thought! I don’t want to think about such things!” But if you ignore these things, you will not live your life properly in light of eternity. James wants us to know that…

We are in His hands, holding to the hope of Jesus Christ in us, glory!

Gods thoughts and ways leads us home to Him! So, because life is a vapor we should humble ourselves before God and obey His will. James lights on our short life and the humbling oneself before God:  In 4:1-12, James hit the need for humility to resolve conflicts and have harmonious relationships where he teaches, that humility with regard to the future and where is confronted an arrogant spirit that he had observed among the churches.

To call anyone  a name other than their first name, is criticism. And that criticism is malicious. It brings judgment to them quickly! Here James in his daily dealings, he wrote that these people professed to know Christ, but they were living with a worldly attitude that the apostle John calls “the boastful pride of life” found in 1 John 2:15. They were making plans without taking into account their own mortality and God’s sovereignty. Like the prosperous man in Jesus’ parable, they were saying, “I’ll build bigger barns to store my goods,” and “I will say to my soul, ‘Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years to come; take your ease, eat, drink and be merry.’” “But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your soul is required of you; and now who will own what you have prepared?’” (Luke 12:19-20).

James makes four points that we must keep before us: that life is a vapor, that life is frail written in James 4:13-14, “Come now, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit.’ Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow.” Or, the text may read, “You do not know what will happen tomorrow.”

How can we know what will happen ten minutes from now, let alone tomorrow or next year? These businessmen were arrogantly assuming that they would wake up tomorrow, start all over and do the same again, that they would safely get to the city, that their business venture would be successful within a year, and that no one would rob them of their income. They were presuming all of these things about an unknown future that they had no control of and no guarantees about!

I thought of those who went by way of a virus. Some just barely coming to know their neighbors and they go unexpectedly into eternity. Again, you may protest that to think about such things is morbid and depressing but we must understand that people make plans all the time and what do they include? Is it for life and trusting in God or is it for trusting oneself? Is it expecting the world to prepare a table for them with goodness? It will not happen in the end!

For you and I, we should be proudly going about our plans and life as if you will be forever young and healthy. James says (4:16) that “all such boasting is evil.” Yes, that is so evil to speak of indeed! God should be in our thoughts! God indicates the course of our Life!

Life is short, like a vapor, or a mist if you will. I think of that anytime I pop open a can. We are here in one moment and gone the next. You see the steam coming out of your coffee cup and in just a second, it disappears into the air. Life is like that would you not say? Or how about that mist of your drink from the can, a mist in a moment and then nothing!

You would think that because death is not just probable, but absolutely certain, and that it can happen at any minute, and that each person must stand before God for judgment, every person would be desperate to know how to get right with God. But, strangely, people put it out of mind and go on about life as if they will live forever. They can watch the catastrophe of Hurricane Ian on TV,  and maybe shake their heads in disbelief!  But truly the next day, the door swung open and those alive knew the potential within them. They went out the door to their daily routines without getting on their faces before God and repenting of their sins!

People today in big arenas prophesy health, wealth and success on every corner, but we know that to not be truth at all. They speak those who get disasters is not truth either. They speak they “deserved” that because…… ( and you fill in the blank) Yes, this is the world but we live for the Lord. Our hearts are set on Him. Amen.

Jesus taught us how to think when we hear about such disasters. And we will hear of disasters every day. Some people reported to Jesus about some Galileans whom Pilate had slaughtered. Jesus responded this in Luke 13:2-5:, “Do you suppose that these Galileans were greater sinners than all other Galileans because they suffered this fate? I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish. Or do you suppose that those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them were worse culprits than all the men who live in Jerusalem? I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.”

We should understand that these men’s sacrifices specifies that their deaths took place in the southeastern part of Jerusalem. Jesus questions the sinfulness of the Galileans and those killed by the tower was apparently inspired by widespread opinion that such things only happen when punishment was for specific sins. But Jesus countered them. He emphasized that every person must repent or else perish spiritually for eternity. How sad indeed?

So when we hear of disasters, or those human caused like the schools or elsewhere, and due to hurricanes, then we must make sure we have repented of our sins. Because if we do not repent,  then we will die in our sins and will perish. James’ first point is, life is a vapor.

We know God is sovereign. This means, we are not sovereign but only human! Financial planning is good stewardship if it is done in dependence on God and with regard for biblical priorities. It is wise to have a will or living trust. It is wise to have some savings to cover possible future expenses or the potential loss of a job. The Bible commends hard work and being rewarded financially for it.  These people were not planning under God’ s sovereignty. The arrogant was making plans for their future financial security, but their plans did not include God. Their trust was not in God, but in their business ventures and in all of the money that they supposed they would make. They were assuming that they were in control of their future and that everything would go according to their plans. Instead, they needed to acknowledge (4:15), “If the Lord wills, we will live and also do this or that.”

Any boasting in oneself is evil. We are not to do that ever!   “God is God; I am not God!” He is sovereign; I am not sovereign. He controls the future; I do not in any way control the future. I believe in saving and investing as I’m able towards the day when I may be too feeble to work (Prov. 6:6-8), but there is simply no such thing in this world as financial security. It is impossible to cover all possible contingencies. Our economy may crash. Our country may be overrun by terrorists. THE retirement investments may fail but it is trusting in God that is the only true source of security for the future.

In this list is vapor and God’s sovereignty. Another would be added as that of pride. It is a great sin indeed. And it covers everyone born on earth! That pride can promote strife. James 4:1 Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members?

Yes, that pleasure thing. We love the admiration of our parents, our grandparents, but we also pay attention to what they like in us. For one older gentleman yesterday, his grandmother loved he dressed up in purple dresses, and he was only four. It got his “attention”. And that is what parents and grandparents are doing today. They will “applaude” the purple dress on a four year old boy. They give accolades to that which is not truth, but far from God. They set their tents far from him for their own pleasures and we use them for our own. The four year old grows up and is undecided about his life, he is drawn to accolades and purple dresses where in this life he had lived as an engineer for a well know automobile company overseas! What a struggle, but he knew himself to be a man!

Another truth found in James 3:14  NKJV  14 But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth.

James focuses on "bitter envy." If "envy" is desire for what another has, "bitter envy" must mean a person wants something so much that he is angry and hateful over it.  And this is so true: Bitterness is a child of anger and resentment. Satan takes great delight in burdening our hearts with these harmful emotions. Unprovoked or quick-tempered anger is a hallmark of our modern cities, which resound in the night! It is midnight and there is heard gunfire and then there comes those howl of sirens. No not the quiet of the night for this city. They hear what is not the quiet atmosphere of nightfall but the atmosphere of hate. The envy has started a war and it grows daily.

Bitter envy takes jealousy to the next step by adding resentment and anger, and from it emerges words that stab, cut, tear down, refute, and diminish. REMOVE! Take them out and it reduces the stature of that someone to make us appear as the “taller” indeed. But we are not taller. No we become small, we become ants, or grasshoppers in eyes of those taking over this nation. If a talebearer or even a gossip wants their listener to think less of another so that we might think more of him, then we lose everything. We choose envy, pride, our own way and leave God.

Envy often springs up when we receive unwarranted correction and someone else, who deserves it, does not. We can feel envy when one receives attention we desire for ourselves or when we fail to receive hard-earned recognition. And those envious words, those bitter weapons are pointed and they are sharp. But the target is subtle, for on the surface, they sound oh so righteous, but in truth, they manipulated in the speaker’s favor.

James also talks of the “tongue”. And it is the un-tamable tongue.  Unruly evil of the tongue must be changed to the word of God. We are to gain His wisdom and not the world of pronouns. Our identity is in the Lord Jesus Christ. James 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gently, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.

From James 3:17  the fruit of righteousness is sown…..as to The whole is the principle of righteousness in the soul, and all the virtues are the fruits of that righteousness. Peace sown, when God rules the heart…and the virtues and graces grow.   The peace-makers are continually recommending this wisdom to others, and their own conduct is represented as a sowing of heavenly seed, which brings forth divine fruit. It is not trying to cover ourselves when we choose to not do something. Practicing peace will always involve giving truth, and that is God. To enjoy the peace of God in the conscience is promoting peace among men. Those who continue to have brawls will have the wretched life; who love the life of the salamander who will share no small portion to the demoniacal nature.

Let us wipe down our faith shield with Jesus. Let us use the oil of the Holy Spirit to have faith for our future. Let us be prepared for the gathering with Jesus, He is Gathering for His coming that will appear. In truth we are to overcome any doubt in God, to His Word, and remember His faithfulness carrying His Word and His presence to others as we look toward our future with Him!

At the end of James is the prayer of faith. There are commands to pray and to worship like James 5:13-14. The prayer of faith will echo James 1:5-8 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith, without doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

It is no hormones or knives, it is not pronouns but the word of God will cause us to stand and be ready. For tomorrow we must know the spiritual understanding of the purpose of any trail or tribulation, any sickness or hurricane, we do it with a repentant heart trusting the Lord has His way in our lives this day in Jesus’ name. Amen.

WAGED WAR

Things of this world are temporary. Things are always passing away. In a WAGED WAR, those living godly lives for God can see all kinds of persecution come against them. You can see this in David. But our battle is in the unseen realm. Because it is not people we battle but the spiritual forces in heavenly places that has everything to do with the devil trying to stop God's sons and daughters. We can see persecution, but we are here to encourage one another and to strengthen each other in the word of God where we live spiritually sound. We are to daily renew our spiritual vitality by the word of God. We are to feed on that which feeds us and builds us.

The Spiritual in Christ Jesus is nothing like the natural of human nature. People are here today & they are gone tomorrow! It is the One true God who has the eternal knowledge and the experience to lead us in the way we should walk. For man can blow hot one day and the next blow cold, he can change quicker than the weather can, and he can know you one day and forget your name in the next day! But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.(Ephesians  2:13)We are in Jesus, we have everlasting life with no death. For sin we have been given salvation, and from hopelessness we have eternal joy.

Let's take a look at a waged war: 2 Kings 13:14-19 Elisha had become sick with the illness of which he would die. Then Joash the king of Israel came down to him and wept over his face and said, “Oh my father, my father, the chariots of Israel and their horsemen!” 15 And Elisha said to him, “Take a bow and some arrows.” So he took himself a bow and some arrows. 16 Then he said to the king of Israel, “Put your hand on the bow.” So he put his hand on it, and Elisha put his hands on the king’s hands. 17 And he said, “Open the east window.” And he opened it. Then Elisha said, “Shoot” and he shot . and he said “The arrow of the LORD” deliverance and the arrow of deliverance from Syria; for you must strike the Syrians at Aphek till you have destroyed them.” 18 Then he said, “Take the arrows” so he took them. And he said to the king of Israel, “Strike the ground; so he struck three times and stopped. 19 And the man of God was angry with him and said, “you should have struck five or six times; then you would have struck Syria till you had destroyed it! But now you will strike Syria only three times.”

This king Joash was facing WAR! He had come to the prophet who was sick and also dying!

And the most interesting thing here in this passage, is that God using Elisha, gave instruction to the king and the instruction also included from verse 16 is "put your hand on the bow" and then Elisha put his hands on the king's hands. Most certainly God was in the house, was in the midst to cause victory to come to the King and the nation. In this, it was God putting his hand onto that of the political of king Joash of that which was required. We see this today where the Lord has put his hands on that of our president.

But even within this instruction, we are told that Elisha told "the king" to strike the ground and the king only struck it three times. The word then was: you should have struck five or six times; then you would have struck Syria till you had destroyed it! But now you will strike Syria only three times."

I wonder how many times, we as individuals go limp in our walk with the Lord? I wonder how many of us get lazy and will not continue to give thanks to God for His goodness to us? I wonder how many of us do not get a song in our heart and pull it out to be heard that will wage the war when we are slow in our step, slow in responding to God, when the victory is here and now!

Hebrews 12:12 Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees, 13 and make straight paths for your feet, so that which is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed. 14 Pursue peace with all people and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: 15 looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble and by this many become defied.

Another who waged a war was David! And he, David Waged War with His hands and His fingers: Psalm 144:1 Blessed be the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle---2 My loving kindness and my fortress, My high tower and my deliver, my shield and the One in whom I take refuge, who subdues my people under me.

Psalm 18:32 It is God who arms me with strength, and makes my way perfect, 33 He makes my feet like the feet of deer, and sets me on my high places. 34 He teaches my hands to make war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.

1.   David blessed God by giving thanks

2.   David also waged war in the spiritual realm when he played with harp for King Saul who was plagued with distressing spirits

3.   God made David’s feet swift in action

It speaks even in the moments that David played for King Saul! 1 Samuel 16: 19 Therefore Saul sent messengers to Jesse, and said, "Send me your son David, who is with the sheep." 20 And Jesse took a donkey loaded with bread, a skin of wine, and a young goat, and sent them by his son David to Saul. 21 So David came to Saul and stood before him. And he loved him greatly and he became his armor bearer. 22 Then Saul sent to Jesse, saying, "Please let David stand before me, for he has found favor in my sight." 23 And so it was, whenever the spirit from God was upon Saul, that David would take a harp and play it with his hand. Then Saul would become refreshed and will, and the distressing spirit would depart from him.  Saul love David because of the Holy Spirit on David.

Then 1 Samuel 19:9 Now the distressing spirit from the LORD came upon Saul as he sat in his house with his spear in his hand. And David was playing music with his hand. 10 Then Saul sought to pin David to the wall with the spear, but he slipped away from Saul's presence; and he drove the spear into the wall. So David fled and escaped that night. 11 Saul also sent messengers to David's house to watch him and to kill him in the morning. And Michal, David's wife, told him, saying, "If you do not save your life tonight tomorrow you will be killed."

Yes, it was king Saul who hated David. From verse 9, Saul now sits in house with a spear in his hand. (Have you even seen someone ready to fight that battle against you? You enter the room and it seems like you cut the atmosphere with a knife? They try speaking anything that would offend you?) Saul loved the anointing of God on him, but when people were speaking good things of David above what was spoken of the king, then the king became angry. It was not God who sent the "distressing spirit" but that which Saul's heart contained a hate toward another which brought distress to him. This man had bitterness of heart!

Remember when Saul heard this: 1 Samuel 18:6-11NKJV Now it had happened as they were coming home, when David was returning from the slaughter of the Philistines, that the women had come out of all the cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet King Saul with tambourines with joy, and with musical instruments. 7 So the women sang as they danced, and said: "Saul has slain his thousands and David his ten thousands." 8 Then Saul was very angry, and the saying displeased him; and he said, "They have ascribed to David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed only thousands. Now what more can he have but the kingdom?" 9 So Saul eyed David from that day forward. 10 And it happened on the next day that the distressing spirit from God came upon Saul. and he prophesied inside the house. So David played music with his hand, as at other times, but there was a spear in Saul's hand. 11 And Saul cast the spear for he said, "I will pin David to the wall!" But David escaped his presence twice.

You can see this even today on those who spend lots of time on Facebook and the such. Lets keep our eyes on Jesus and not on Suzy Q....let's keep step with the Lord and worship Him with hands lifted high speaking glory to His name always!

Can you see how good God is when there is war "raging" against you? That in those moments we see ugliness appear,  we can pull out "the harp" and play worship to God. We can lift our hands even at work and worship the Lord God on high who lives in our hearts and knows all things!

What song do you think of when distressing times come? Hopefully it is not that song of "que sera, sera, whatever will be, will be! What nonsense! Future is ours, and it is packaged in God's mercy and grace. It carries a banner that is written "victorious" in the blood of the Lamb! Yes we can change the atmosphere around us and we change that which is waged against us, when we wage with worship to God WHO is more than enough!

God is good all the time and do we notice even when war is waged against us even now in this moment? Still we are the anointed just like David. We have the Holy Spirit Who came upon us at the repentance of sins and to receive Jesus as Lord of our lives. We have the Holy Spirit in us and HE certainly is noticed by individuals like a king Saul! And what is interesting, Saul had the Spirit of God come upon him when he was chosen to be king over Israel yet he continued to do his "own" thing and that got him killed in the end.

In this day and within this hour know this:

Jehovah Elohim: Creator of the heaven and earth, Who was in the beginning

Jehovah Tsidkenu… our righteousness

Jehovah—Shammah who will never leave us nor forsake us…You are our Helper….we will not fear nor will we be terrified….What can man do to us?

El-Elyon: the most High God, the First CAuse of everything, the Possessor of the heavens and the earth. The everlasting God, the faithful God, mighty God who is truth, justice, righteousness and perfection.....El-Elyon.......blessed be His name forever!

You are Great I Am in our midst….Greater is He Who is in us than he who is in the world…..

For what will appear in this end of this year, where elections are on the agenda of many minds and certain agendas in the hearts of those who greatly desire to change God and His rule, still God is in our midst and the waged war cannot win against that of the LORD! Our Creator is aware, alert and ever mindful of us. He is truth, justice, righteousness and perfection. He is God. He is Christ the Lord and you and I have Jesus Christ in our hearts, Who will never leave us, nor will He forsake us. We shall not be terrified, what can man do to us? We are on the side of God Who is great! Amen.

FAITH REVEALED

Had been reading some on the faith of those who lived before us like Jesus! The Hall of Faith found in Hebrews 11. You find Enoch who lived by faith and did not die. And he lived in a time much like we are living today! Found in that hall of faith is Abraham, called to come out of from his family who were rich in idol worship. He was called out of his ethnicity to live for God in the kingdom His Son would deliver. Patriarchs, Moses, Gideon, Barack and Samuel are listed. A harlot was listed in Rahab, who did not perish with those who did not believe, when she had received the spies with peace. Yes, Israel walked around Jericho for seven days and those walls came down and Rahab and her family survived because she believed truth given her by the men whom she hid from her neighbors and her culture!

And Jesus, whose faith was revealed in His speaking that His focus was on His Father and who would deliver Him in a resurrection for all to see. His faith was revealed in where it was placed!

Jesus knew who He was and where He was headed. John 13:3-5 NKJV Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that He had come from God and was going to God, 4 rose from supper and laid aside His garments, took a towel and girded Himself. 5 After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash, the disciple’s feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded.

Yes, that is a relationship of loving others and doing that which is honorable!

In an hour of destruction, when all you have done is confess the goodness of God in the land of the living, when you have praised the Lord, proclaimed His goodness and how His mercy endures, you turn yourself toward rest in the nighttime and close your eyes to that which growls in the night hours! You snuggle into the peace of God and reside in the safety of His strong arms!

Our trust is to be in the Lord and it certainly is tested when you live in an area where many people come to enjoy hikes, wind surfing, and even fishing! We see many people riding a variety of bikes from the ones requiring your own strength, to those 20 speeds up to those with “a little motorization” added. We have seen those with hover boards and blades going with the only focus of where to go next and how fast to get there! Although we often see that on I-84 as well: how fast can they get to where they are going! At times they leave the interstate to the two lane state highway and try to qualify for the Indy 500. Please be careful the two miles into our little village from the west for in that two mile area, you see people in a four cylinder car trying to out run an 8-cylinder vehicle coming from the opposite direction. Yeah, the 4-cylinder driver has made a state highway into a one way highway running west to the east not regarding those vehicles coming from our little village going west to the city!

You and I can find those things we enjoy to do. And then we remember of those who have not had an easy time through the last several months of a virus they say has killed the infirm, yet the numbers only reveal a seasonal flu. Yet are we not responsible for our own bodies. And should we not know of the serious things affecting our immune system, so that important steps are required to eat properly the right healthful foods, to take vitamins and minerals especially that vitamin D-3 and zinc. For certainly, we do take those things with the diet required for good optimum health. Our life is not to be bent toward “fear” nor are we to bring fear on others! Still we must have truth and not some fallacy someone is trying to lay into the laps of those people who should know their own bodies and how to proceed in maintaining that good health through any event of virus rampaging the countryside.

Was reading over scripture and I began to see some things in regard to those willing to jump and help others without a thought. Certainly there are many suffering in this hour, those without work, those choosing not to work but receive a check instead, and those too sick to work. But Jesus spoke that we would always have the poor with us.  And if we listen to a man and not God, and go into that thing of giving to certain people or groups, are we really doing it from the heart of one set for God and to give that thing needed or is it about others seeing us do something for others?

Proverbs 31:8-9  NKJV 8 Open your mouth for the speechless, In the cause of all who are appointed to die. 9 Open your mouth, judge righteously, And plead the cause of the poor and needy.

Here the word God has given us to see to the disadvantaged, but God also tells us to judge righteously. We do know of some people in the world who have great amounts of money and time on their hands. So within their thought process they become what one would call advocates for the various causes that seem to appear like dandelions in your yard in the spring time. But what are the consequences if supporting something or someone in the length of time which might appear as a good thing, but causes great difficulty down the road for many people.

One such teaching I had received recently had written on this very thing. That of which appears as good followed to the end would appear more like living in a socialist state. It is that place where no one is free!

Again, it was Jesus who spoke:  "The poor you will always have with you." So that being the case, the question then becomes, "How best can we help them?"

Certainly the Lord checks our fruit as He inspects our hearts speaking. He regards what we do with our life each day. Fruit appearing is a righteous person growing in the image of the Father. So feeding others or clothing them is a good thing, but the long term should be doing that in regard to the Cross where Jesus took our place, and in  regard to that faith that is required to live and as we do, we should be about telling others of this faith walk in Christ Jesus. We should not become "Jesus" to them where their dependence is on us!

If we remember that of Martha and Mary, it was Jesus who said to Martha: "Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things, but one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her. In Luke 10:38-42, Jesus’  teaching point is that when service and good works become a distraction and a worry, crowding out the higher duties of listening to Him, thus we enter a danger. Good works we want to do for our lives have changed for the good. But ours is not to take over other’s lives to change them for them.  Those great fruits are wonderful but they cannot them nor can they save us!

Ephesians 2:8-10 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

We can see that when we operate in the word of God that is truth, we become a poem that is of God. We are His work, to produce Him on earth. But it is having faith in Jesus that we are saved as we see in verse 8 of Ephesians 2!

Galatians 3:22 But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.

You could look at it like this: if you hold a person in their condition by continuing to give to their need, they might respond by not making any moves forward or toward living with responsibility to actually live, by getting a job or doing anything productive to change the existing position they are in bondage to at the moment. They would also include any health issues they might have currently. Inviting someone to take a walk with you but would be better than buying them a box of chocolates that only adds more weight to their overweight condition!

Certainly the two brothers who bombed the Boston Marathon lived in Boston within a nice expensive home. Filled with several members of their family, they all sought after a monthly check where they all brought in together some fourteen thousand a month to live. They did not change their mindset that was bent toward destruction as terrorists! As most, they sought how to get money without doing anything to earn it and still do their desired thing of the heart! That was to kill and destroy!

Faith revealed is seen in what we have placed our hope. If our hope lies in Jesus Christ, we watch for His return. We listen intently with an ear that expects a sound, a good one, where we are taken away to be with Him forever. Faith does not speak when I am helping another although it reveals ones heart for the person’s need. It reveals a loving person for another. Faith must be present to speak out in a boldness for God especially in the face of persecution, any hostility or sickness. When assisting others, it must point back to God and not us!

John 1:15 Jesus spoke this: John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, He who comes after me is preferred before me, for he was before me.”

In that faith revealed, it is only Christ who can save, for we can reach out with our hands, walk with our feet and touch others with our hearts in their need, that is a good deed indeed, but they need Jesus the Savior to save. We can feed them, and we can clothe them, but it is only He who can deliver from death, hell and the grave. And every man requires that “one thing”! Amen.
