Potty Training

Voice of Prayer
Yikes! Potty Training....what has that got to do with godly things?
In scripture, we were told that God created the heavens and the earth. We are also told that He created them Adam and Eve, male and female.

Proverbs 3:3-4  ..Let not mercy and truth forsake …you;…Bind them around your neck,
Write them on the tablet of …….your heart,
4 And so find favor and high esteem
In the sight of God and man.

God thought it important enough to remind us from these verses to not letting mercy and truth forsake us. We are to bind them around our neck, see that they are written on the tablet of our heart and in doing so, we would find favor and high esteem in the sight of God and man!

Yet these very important words have been abandoned either by neglect or by choosing a "new pathway" that is against (out of alignment) from God established for us in His word of truth.

In training a child, you start early (like when they are mastering their walk) and introduce them to the potty chair. For some, this is a continual work in progress. For others though it flows quickly and smoothly. In regards to children we have had or seen within our families, our own seemed to take to the potty chair quickly. Always regarding her care as the utmost in bringing her up, we always mentioned the words: modesty, discreet, remembering modesty was the best policy and quality for a young girl or woman to maintain.
In regards of morals, we continued to seek encouraging her of the importance of being respectful to her body and to keep an appropriate behavior in the use of the "potty".
Now some may think this is absurd or something other than useful, but if our mouth is the "potty" mouth, then we are not useful except to someone else who has that "potty" mouth!

In training someone up to be virtuous, we remind them that God planned for them. He spoke of their coming and with our own, the Lord had me speak specific things to her on the day she was born. If GOD thought that important, then we viewed her knowing who she was and what she was to do for Him would come from Him.
Not sure where people got off on their thinking that what you were born with according to being male or female played no role in who you would be later in life. I am not certain how people who were educated could get into a whole world of hurt by thinking of you change your hormones, have some medical procedures or two that you will be "normal". WRONG!

In the rules of conduct: we are to conduct our lives with the respect that God planned us and He knows who we are and what the plan is for each of us. Psalm 127:3 Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb is a reward.
Psalm 139:13 For YOU formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother's womb. 14 I will praise You for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well. 15 My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed, and in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them.

Yes, can you imagine it right now, what some have had sex changes will be telling God has they stand before Him, and telling Him "you made a mistake"! Yikes!
For the God, the Creator of the heavens and the earth does not make mistakes and scripture tells us that He knew us in the depths being formed and He has a book that is written about my life, your life, your children's lives and your grand-children's lives!
In what God fashioned for each of us is written. What He planned, He noted it to show us. Yet there will be many tears, many denials and certain heartache beyond what anyone could stand when confronting truth in the FACE of God's TRUTH!
In the closing verses of Psalm 139, the author wrote Search me O God, and know my heart; try me and know my anxieties;  24 and if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Lord God, see if there is any wicked way in my heart...search me O God.

Anything of the false that is contrary to God and His truth is spoken in this short prayer. The author needed to offer that which he knew could keep his heart from hate and from the practices that men tend to do by their human nature. The author wanted to be led in that way that is holy toward God…that is in spirit and truth. For in truth, we are to walk following the way the Lord is directing and not by human standards, human reasoning and human wrongs. For we know that the way that is right in a man’s own eyes is seldom the way to God but for their own satisfaction and desires.

News alert: what you were born with is who you are, whom God created with a plan in mind! Don't shipwreck your life for a moment in the flesh.
Basing our decisions on our senses is folly. So when we see something, feel something, hear something, based without true knowledge is detrimental to you and me. When confronted with fear, confusion takes over to cover us in darkness and hide us from the very knowledge we need and that is God’s word. As fear is cloaked in darkness of confusion, then pressure will take over to be the driver to move one to act out of fear. This pressure looks much like selfishness and strife! It is a wanting to protect oneself from the thing fear has created. Words spoken from the natural man using these five senses can cause a lot of unneeded problems birthed through the false evidence.
We must have true knowledge to make right decisions. That knowledge of the heart is that we gain from the Lord and His Word. Proverbs 12:1 Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge. But he who hates corrections is stupid. (NKJV)
Proverbs 15:2 The tongue of the wise uses knowledge, but the mouth of fools pours forth foolishness.(NKJV)
Proverbs 18:15…………15 The heart of the prudent acquires knowledge,
And the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.  NKJV

His Counsel. His eye is of favor on those who regard His counsel. It is the knowledge of who He is and all that comes with friendship of that with a great King. (Proverbs 22:11)……
Proverbs 22:12 The eyes of the LORD preserve knowledge, and he overthrows the words of the transgressor.

To maintain the walk God planned for each of us, is to stay within the boundary of His word of truth. To do anything else would be sin and far from God!

Psalm 1: Blessed is the man who walks not in counsel of the ungodly nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scornful; 2 but his delight in is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night. 3 He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth its fruit in season, whose leaf  shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.

If one is due for potty training, may they know God has a plan for their good and not evil to give them a hope in their final outcome. May we be found in faith knowing God is for us and not against us! Amen.

Feeding on Ashes or God's Word

Psalm 102:8-11
8 My enemies reproach me all day long,
Those who deride me swear an oath against me.
9 For I have eaten ashes like bread,
And mingled my drink with weeping,
10 Because of Your indignation and Your wrath;
For You have lifted me up and cast me away.
11 My days are like a shadow that lengthens,
And I wither away like grass.  NKJV

Sitting in grief, one finds themselves eating on ashes. Many people move into a depression and it is hard for them to come out. But in those times we must remember God is truth and the devil is the liar.
The devil was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is not truth found in him. And he certainly speaks his native language. (John 8:44)
We must discern when the devil is out to harm.
We are to be sanctified by the truth. God's Word is truth. (John 17:17)

We should acknowledge when we have fed on ashes. Turning to God's Word will always lead us into life and health. Holding onto anything of which is a security to us is a lie. Believing in things which are not true, as to in our own selves is a delusion. Our freedom from self is in Jesus. WE are to be changed into His image.

Colossians 3:9-10..........NIV
9 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.

Situations can happen. People can pass away. People can hurt us and people can just do the unusual that can affect us in some harmful way, but we are not to live in the hurt, not in the pain of loss or look upon those situations that cause grief as anything to fear or doubt. Change will always come to our lives, but we must be willing to keep moving and not stop.
Submitting to God and His authority means all else falls beneath, is carried in the debris pile, swept away by winds that caused the diversity and never to be seen.
Scripture tells us by the prophet in Micah that our sins were cast into the depths of the sea.

Micah 7:18-20
18 Who is a God like You,
Pardoning iniquity
And passing over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage?
He does not retain His anger forever,
Because He delights in mercy.
19 He will again have compassion on us,
And will subdue our iniquities.
You will cast all our sins
Into the depths of the sea.
20 You will give truth to Jacob
And mercy to Abraham,
Which You have sworn to our fathers
From days of old.   NKJV

Truth was given to Jacob, and mercy to Abraham.
Our sins were subdued ............and in the blood of Jesus we are the redeemed. The redeemed act joyful. They are the submitted to God and His authority and not to depression or anything else the devil might throw up in your face.
Today submit your dreams to Him as you are submitted to HIM in the authority of His Word. I ask the Lord God to give you God-ordained goals showing you how to invest in your future. I also pray that you who would read this  that you would also be active in service to the Lord all the days of your life.
Today depression leaves your life. Rise and see your purpose that God has for you. May you be anchored there by the Holy Spirit who is steadfast and true. Be planted in the Lord and be fresh and flourishing and bearing fruit into old age.
We believe for your transition into His grace of peace and love. We believe for your valleys and high mountains to be  smoothed out.  We believe for level paths for your feet as you walk with HIM.

YOUR future is in Him.

The STAR came out of Jacob. Num 24:17
17 "I see Him, but not now;
I behold Him, but not near;
a Star shall come out of Jacob;
a Scepter shall rise out of Israel,
And batter the brow of Moab,
And destroy all the sons of tumult.  NKJV

God's mercy to us is new every morning.

Lamentations 3:22-24
22 Through the LORD's mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
24 "The LORD is my portion," says my soul,
"Therefore I hope in Him!"  NKJV

Please don't drink to sadness today. God is smiling on you. He desires to get down and visit with you one to one. Tell Him how you treasure Him and I am certain He will draw you into the comfort of His loving arms and tell you, your best is yet to be. Come out from beneath the covers of despair. Jesus is Lord, A new day is coming and it will be in the brightness of His glory. Amen.

Let's meditate on Jesus who gave us beauty for ashes. In Him we live, In Him we abide in the beauty of His life.

Isaiah 61:2-3....to comfort all who mourn,
3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion--
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the LORD
for the display of his splendor. NIV

The Message Bible states it this way:
God sent Isaiah to declare the message:
to comfort all who mourn, to care for the needs of all who mourn in Zion. to give them bouquets of roses instead of ashes, Messages of joy instead of news of doom. A praising heart instead of a languid spirit. Rename them "Oaks of Righteousness" planted by God to display his glory.

Staying in Jesus, abiding in His peace and love, we stay away from anything that would perish. Leaving the world behind, we leave behind that which is worthless, and we seek that which is priceless.
For He is the pearl of great price.
Woven into the tapestry of love, in touch with everything there is to know of God. Then we  will have minds confident and at rest, focused on Christ, God's great mystery. All the richest treasures of wisdom and knowledge are embedded in that mystery and nowhere else. And we have been shown the mystery! (Message Bible:Colossians 2)

Continue to pursue things with the life Christ gave us. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Leave the idols behind. don't shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, be alert to what is going on around Christ. that is where the action is. See things from His perspective. Your old life is dead, Your new life, which is your real life----even though invisible to spectators----is with Christ in God. He is your life. When Christ (your real life, remember) shows up again on this earth, you'll show up too----the real you, the glorious you. Meanwhile, be content with obscurity,  like Christ. ( Message Bible: Colossians 3)

Now commanded to live in peace, we live in accordance with those around us. You might have fed on ashes but today you feed on His Word that is life and peace. Wholly committed we move into a life of real living that is fruitful and a benefit to others. Blessed are those who hear and obey this word today. Even better are those who actually live to practice this very word. Amen.

Pleasing God

Pleasing God can look different to a lot of people! Pleasing God is walking in integrity, feeding on His faithfulness and trusting Him, when things may look rather bleak and ominous. Pleasing God may mean we greatly increase our giving over and above the tithe. Pleasing God may mean going to work part-time instead of full time! Pleasing God may mean staying home and raising the children instead of going after that degree that could bring into the home a substantial amount of income each month. Pleasing God may mean going to a foreign country and live for a year as a missionary.

Pleasing God is one who is:
  • humble
  • devoted
  • faithful
  • accepting God's word and plan
Pleasing God brings:
  • security
  • divine protection
  • His presence
  • praise to our lips
  • the desires of our heart
We can look at Mary the mother of Jesus. She was the humble and the devoted. "Be it unto me, according to Your Word."
Lord, what YOU speak to me today, I will do........be it unto me! How many of us truly say that and everyday speak it and mean it..........., "be it unto to me according to Your Word!"
Although we know very little of Mary, we do know that she trusted in the Lord and trusted in what He gave her to do. Her heart was acceptable to the things of God. In knowing what He had given her to do meant some trouble for Mary. Will we truly accept God's radical plan for our lives? We know one thing for certain, Mary walked with the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.

A radical life Mary accepted. She had a binding contract to a man named Joseph, but of which had not been consummated since it took a year for all to come to pass of this ceremony. But Mary would have the sign of a pregnancy proceeding to a child' s birth.
Mary's life defined a pure life of faith. Looking on her life today, I see her life as a praise to God. If Mary had any inhibitions, she did not let them show. She stayed faithful to the plan of God.

I had opportunity to minister this Word to a Women's Conference in October 2013 and it was on the Altar of Heritage, A Harvest in Prayer Living Love 360. It was how prayer and the vertical relationship had begun from David down to Mary and to Jesus, the Son of God!  The teaching was on people who were seekers of the face of God in His Word and in prayer.
On the topic of Mary of this one segment, we found Mary the highly favored one in Luke 1:28-33.
28....and having come in, the angel said to her, "rejoice highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!"  29 But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was. 30 then the angel said to her, "do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God." 31"And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. 32 He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. 33 And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever. and of His kingdom, there will be no end. (NKJV)

Mary had a heart knowledge of God. She believed. She saw the fulfillment of all that was given to her in that Word.
We later find Mary, and she is attending a wedding in Cana of Galilee. John 2:1-5................On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee and the mother of Jesus was there. 2 Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding ..3.And they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, "they have no wine." 4 Jesus said to her, "woman what does your concern have to do with me?" "MY hour has not yet come." 5 His mother said to the servants, "Whatever He says to you, do it!"

Knowing her son was from God, the highly favored one continued to look to God and participated with others to hear the teachings Jesus presented to the people. She was aware and kept the word that was spoken long ago, that her son would be great, and would be called the Son of the Highest and the Lord God would give Him the throne of His father David. Now when God tells you He will make "a"name for you, He will do it!
She was always revisiting the Word spoken, she was revisiting how she experienced His Word and had victory to bring forth a Son and not be put to shame.

No, she continued to flow with God as we see in John 19:25-27....Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and His mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. 26 When Jesus saw His mother and the disciple whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother, "woman, behold your son!" 27 then He said to the disciple, "behold your mother!" and from that hour that disciple took her to his own home. (NKJV)

Protection was what Mary experienced. God was keeping a place for Mary. Then we find Mary in Acts 1:13-14, Acts 2:4............and when they had entered,....the upper room where they were staying; Peter, James, John and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew; James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot; Judas the son of James. 14 these all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women , Mary the mother of Jesus and with his brothers..........................Acts 2:............4. and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the spirit gave them utterance. (NKJV)

Mary continued her walk with God. She gathered with the others in prayer and supplications to the Lord! It was in the upper room, they received the Holy Spirit. These men and women were those who were seekers of God and they were those who were endued with power from on high!

Pleasing God is a personal thing. It is a vertical relationship with God and to have confidence that He will fulfill all that He has spoken to our hearts.

Through her whole life Mary experienced God. She knew security, protection, His presence, and it brought praise to her lips. Her heart's desire: well,............ "Lord be it unto me according to Your word."
Mary, pleased God!

Holy Spirit, seal this Word on our hearts. As we make this continuous walk of staying close to You, may we be those men and women who hear YOU speak. Lord, we pray to be like Mary, who is never brought to shame. Lord, may we be those with a testimony of faith to believe and to put our trust in YOU alone! We are thankful for Mary, the example of the faithful, the devoted and the humble! Lord, we ask You to speak to us and declare Your plan and bring us teachers who will expand on Your words of truth concerning our pleasing You always. Our confidence is in You. Teach us and lead us in a smooth path. Deliver us today from those who speak evil against us, We expect and receive today Your goodness to us in the land of the living. We thank You ........our God, our Savior,
Who is faithful and true. In Jesus' name. Amen
