INHERITANCE

Voice of Prayer
Proverbs 13:22 Amplified Bible  22 a good man leaves an inheritance [of moral stability and goodness] to his children’s children, and the wealth of the sinner [finds its way eventually] into the hands of the righteous, for whom it was laid up.

That inheritance is one of prayer, of a godly life (living for God and not for self), leaving a “good name”, an example that one sees as a witness for God and His glory, and the many cherished memories spent with the one willing to leave an inheritance to the next generation!
This inheritance is “not always” that of houses, land or something costly thing that others might conceive as an inheritance, but the wise man knows what to leave for others.
Heard a teaching earlier this morning and I kept thinking of this scripture verse. Although it was not mentioned in the teaching, yet I kept hearing it grow louder in my thinking.

Proverbs 4:23 Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.  Proverbs. 18:2 Amplified Bible….. A [self-confident] fool has no delight in understanding but only in revealing his personal opinions & himself.  No opinions please: God’s thoughts only.
Proverbs 9: 6 Leave off, simple ones [forsake the foolish & simpleminded] & live! & walk in the way of insight & understanding

Many today just have the desire to give their opinion of themselves, they desire to leave opinions wherever they go, roam or live! Yet, in Hebrews, chapter 4 and starting in verse 12-16, we are reminded of this:   Hebrews 4: 12-16  Amp. Bible 12 For the Word that God speaks is alive / full of power [making it active, operative, energizing /effective]it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) & the [immortal] spirit, & of joints & marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing, sifting & analyzing & judging the very thoughts & purposes of the heart 13 & not a creature exists that is concealed from His sight, but all things are open & exposed, naked & defenseless to the eyes of Him with Whom we have to do. (HEART)
14 Inasmuch then as we have a great High Priest Who has [already] ascended & passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of  God, let us hold fast our confession [of faith in Him]. 15 For we do not have a High Priest Who is unable to understand & sympathize & have shared feeling with our weaknesses & infirmities & liability to the assaults of temptation, but One Who has been tempted in every respect as we are, yet without sinning. Let us then fearlessly & confidently & boldly draw near to the throne of grace (the throne of God’s unmerited favor to us sinners), that we may receive mercy [for our failures] & find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help / well-timed help, coming just when we need it].
God is to be our source by speaking God’s language, and cooperating with Him, ……” In leaving an inheritance, we must be living a life that will leave a good one to the next generation. If we allow ourselves to be “immersed” in the Holy Spirit then we find Proverbs 14:33-34 reflected through our lives.
It states this: Proverbs 14:33-34   Amp. Bible 33 Wisdom rests [silently] in the mind and heart of him who has understanding, but that which is in the inward part of [self-confident] fools is made known. 34 Uprightness & right standing with God (moral and spiritual rectitude in every area & relation) elevate a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.
Living the godly life is living in the way God desires us to live as holy unto Him! We are to discern the difference of the world from that which is truth in God. Speaking multitudes of languages does nothing for the heart of the man or woman who is far from God!
Having millions of dollars will do nothing for your soul if it is by doing one’s own thing is living for the world and to make a name in the world.
If we truly are the followers of Jesus then we are to be found in truth with reverence to HIM our Creator who planned for us from the foundation of the world…...Looking toward the future and living eternally with Him, we are to be for His glory and to His praise not only where we live in the country but also in the city!
Being immersed in God, others should see the witness of God in you and in me. If they do not, then why do they not see it?
No it is not about leaving those houses, much land or millions of dollars behind, but what kind of life did you leave that would carry your child, grown children or grand-children forward in God. In my lifetime I have seen a young man receive the language of Spanish overnight to go on missions trips to Mexico and finally start a place of ministry of ever level in God. I have seen another get millions overnight and be broke in nine years without hope because they did not have God in their lives.

So, for me and looking on in 2018 I truly desire to leave an inheritance that will still speak even when I am gone from this earth: not of fairy dust, tattoos , riding on angels wings, but truly one who walks with God daily. I desire for our grand-daughter to know the goodness of God and not take it lightly that any language, any person or any organization can make them famous and make them famous even over night. For our true delight should be in the Lord and to know Him intimately.
May we see the New Year as the opportunity to leaving a future inheritance to our children. May we see it as one that will speak of God, will speak life, will reveal His goodness for them and those who will cross their paths.
Father, today lead us by Your Holy Spirit! In Jesus Name we pray and believe that You will go before us and make the rough places smooth; You will shatter the doors of bronze and cut through their iron bars. You will give us the treasures of darkness and hidden wealth of secret places, in order that we may know that it is You, the Lord, the God of Israel, who calls us by name. (Isaiah 45:2-3)
Father God, I ask You to lead us when we are blinded by ways we have not known, along unfamiliar paths please guide us; Lord, turn the darkness into light before us and make the rough places smooth. I pray these are the things You will do for us who pray and believe YOU. You will not forsake us. ( Isaiah 42:16)
Help us where we might be failing in the godly life. Show us by revelation of Your word where we need Your strength and guides us in the way that is everlasting.

If it had not been for You,………….Oh, Lord search our hearts and strengthen us to live more like You, revealing You to others and pray like Jesus did. We know when You are involved in our lives, we flourish. We become what YOU purposed for us and we run the race without anything to hinder. Today we set our sights on You and believe we receive that of what we have asked knowing You are for us and not against. Thank You for hearing our plea. Amen!

First Responders

Voice of Prayer
Do you ever pay attention when someone speaks of "those First Responders"? You know those first on the scene to give attention to the injured, the first willing to give assistance to what they may find on "the scene" of twisted metal resulting from a derailed train.
Was thinking this morning upon arising and wanted to check a quick look at the weather for today for our area, then I saw the horrific wreck of a fast train, from Seattle derailed and scattered in all directions of Interstate 5 in Washington!
Now we have had on occasion a family member or two to ride that fast train, but when they took it was more for pleasure to take a young child on their first train ride.

But in looking at the scenes they continued to show, I spent more than an hour watching to find out if anyone survived. And yes those on the roadway had survived, but those on the train were without seat-belts and left to be thrown forward or like passenger reported, "to be catapulted forward" and when you are not expecting the abrupt stop, and rock-and-roll of such a sizable vehicle. What may have  been a quick business trip, turned upside down into chaos.

For whatever the cause, there is always something done that will affect another! Just look at I-5 in a snowstorm and people will leave their vehicles when they lose traction from their tires....only to affect other people who probably can make it just find for they prepared with the proper snow tires, with chains on only to find the road blocked by those who chose to stop in the middle of a lane and walk home in subzero temps!

Oh, those First Responders, who show up to put out fires like we have seen in rapid succession from Washington to California and beyond. We have seen them run to those areas of Houston, to get in boats to help those stranded by the ever growing flood that came to that region in August of 2017.
My husband had opportunity to talk with a First Responder who was from Maine. He is a firefighter and came with a group of men who travel far from family and friends, the home they love to fight fires in all regions of this country. A First Responder gives, and they give a lot!
Heard of two lives of fire fighters lost this past week. One from California and one from Oregon. Each devoted their lives to helping others, and they lost their own lives doing it.

Again, First Responders, are those when the child on the playground gives the first hint of pain. They cry out, then sometimes a great cry with sobs as they bury their face in their own hands trying to push away tears to find mother or maybe day care provider who is close by. But the First Responder is evident in who gets to the crying child first.
If you travel to many parks for your child or grandchild to enjoy, you know of what I write here. You have seen maybe two parents available, but one just looks on while the other runs to the painful cries. Yes, you can see that played out regularly and why is only one will respond to the scene playing out in tears, maybe some blood, and possible dirty faces, hands and scraped knees?

While thinking and meditating the scene playing out, I was reminded of the woman brought to Jesus who was caught in the act of adultery.
John 8:3-12 NKJV  3 Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery.
And when they had set her in the midst, 4 they said to Him, "Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act. 5 Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?"
6 This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though he did not hear. 7 So when they continued asking Him, He praise Himself up and said to them, "He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first."
8 And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. 9 Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. 10 When Jesus had raise Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, "Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?"
11 She said, "No one Lord." And Jesus said to her, "Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more."12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life."

For this world, Jesus was speaking that the darkness and all it covers is far from Him. In Him is light and life, to bring people from chaos into the place of "peace, love and joy " in Him! For those First Responders, they point no fingers of who is in the wrong, but they fight their way through flames to make right what was made wrong either by just a freakish event to something caused by man to commit some kind of heinous act against other men, other families, to people and their homes , to their jobs and even to their lives.
As the First Responder we see first on the scene of man-kind was Jesus. And He still lights the way to that which is truth and life to us! Jesus came to set the captives free, to move us from the chaos to peace in Him. He came to move us to victory in the purpose God set for us to have, and the inheritance comes to those who would be His sons and daughters.

We each can be like the First Responders! For just like the firefighters, the police officers, and those paramedics, we too can possibly be the first on the scene to see someone who needs a Savior, one who needs encouragement in their faith walk, someone who needs the word of God to understand more firmly that our lives should be the determined to obey the Lord and align to His will.

As the First Responder, let us not neglect our ministry to HIM! Let us worship and be thankful this year and every year so that we might draw on that which Jesus gave and from His life so healing will flow, and our lives will demonstrate the goodness of God to those who might need the great Medic, Jesus Christ!
Jesus wrote on the ground, and many of them I think were concerned of what He wrote. But one thing is certain, that Jesus came, He bowed not to their rant. He bowed His knee to the Father and in full view, He gave voice of His whole body for that of which He came. He wrote in the dust of that which of men would soon return to the dust of whence they came.
No finger pointing allowed when Jesus is there to protect those who are the bullied by those who commit the same crime as these did against this woman!
We are not to hold another in condemnation, we are not to point to those mistakes, for truly God makes known what must be made known and real in His own time, when truth is revealed.
Luke 12:3 "Therefore whatever you have spoken in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have spoken in the ear in inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops."

NOT A HAND OUT BUT A HAND UP

The justice of God is to set things right and see it maintained!
Acts 3:1-10 NKJV  Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. 2 And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple; 3 who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms. 4 And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, "look on us."
5 So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. 6 Then Peter said, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk."
7 And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. 8 So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them----walking, leaping and praising God. 10 Then they knew that it was he who sat begging alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple; and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

Now if you have ever gone to church or a prayer meeting or Bible study, one is focused to be on time for that scheduled meeting. Being on time is very important to me. And when seeing this man, the same man that Jesus had walked past when He went there, yet there was no place for healing.
Yet at this moment, while going in for the prayer at the temple, healing was available for the lame man.

Instruction was given for the man to look on Peter and John. In speaking to him, the environment changed. It was when this man gave his full attention to Peter and John that a miracle could occur. For the anointing was always active within the two apostles.

The very anointing Jesus carried was available now within Peter and John. Healing came by the instruction to focus on hearing in the name of Jesus. Faith is always in the name of the "Anointed Savior".

Our focus must be on that which has come to us through Jesus! It is in that name that we walk. It is in Him that we live, move and have our being.

Peter took the man by the right hand. Psalm 48:10 reminds us that As is Your name, O God, so is Your praise to the ends of the earth; Your right hand is full of righteousness (rightness and justice)

Proverbs 21:3 Today do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.

Doing justice is to maintain what is right or to set things right. The time had come for the lame man to walk. Silver and gold was not his answer. Helping others, especially during the winter months and Christmas, seem to highlight many people's lives, but in truth, we are help the poor without anyone knowing about it.
In truth, justice is done when honorable relations are maintained, let's say: between husbands and wives, parents and children, employers and employees, government and citizens, and man and God.
The justice God sees and operates by is that of loyalty where you are the "self-less" and giving to others with a love in heart that is of God and from God. So that justice is one that is done in spirit and has some action behind it.
The one who holds that trait is one who is comprehending God, having His love and seeing with His eyes and a giving heart!

I remember seeing the bell ringers from Salvation Army outside the grocery stores and some other type stores. I also remember people trying to avoid them anyway possible, like moving grocery carts out of the way to go in a side door for the grocery mart!
God expects us to have sacrificed our life to have His will done on earth. His kingdom has come and His will was demonstrated by His Son.
If the Spirit of God lives in us, then we ought to obey what the instruction is: and to "Go". Go and have time for the lame, the poor, the broken. And give to them which looks like the hand up and not just a hand out!
Our lives are short and will give an account of them: what will they reveal about our hearts?

A Belief that is Strong and Right

"LIGHT BE"
Belief
2 Thessalonians 2:13-14  Amp. Bible But we, brethren beloved by the Lord, ought and are obligated [as those who are in debt] to give thanks always to God for you, because God chose you from the beginning as His first fruits (first converts) for salvation through the sanctifying work of the [Holy] Spirit and [your] belief in (adherence to, trust in, and reliance on) the truth. 14 It was to this end that he called you through our Gospel, so that you may obtain and share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah).

There is no “coasting” into meeting with Jesus for when we look at the terms of the Gospel. It is by holding in that “faith” that reliance where all our trust is in HIM!
2 Thessalonians 2:15-17 So then, brethren, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions and instructions which you were taught by us, whether by our word of mouth or by letter. 16 Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, Who loved us and gave us everlasting consolation and encouragement and well-founded hope through [His] grace (unmerited favor), 17 Comfort and encourage your hearts and strengthen them [make them steadfast and keep them unswerving] in every good work and word.
We are reminded of this in 2 Peter 2:20-22 Amp. Bible  20 For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through [the full, personal] knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they again become entangled in them and are overcome, their last condition is worse [for them] than the first. 21 For never to have obtained a [full, personal] knowledge of the way of righteousness would have been better for them than,  having obtained [such knowledge], to turn back from the holy commandment which was [verbally] delivered to them. 22 There has befallen them the thing spoken of the true proverb, The dog turns back to his own vomit, and , The sow is washed only to wallow again in the mire. ( Proverbs 26:11)
Belief is, we hold onto Jesus. Belief is, that we speak as He spoke. “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.”
I was told this early on, given the holy Scriptures to abide by and confess them over me, mine and those the Lord told me to pray for throughout my stay in the world as I pass through for His glory and not mine.
I was given great testimonies of men and women who stood by ‘faith’ and saw their words spoken in truth revealed in long life and the terminal disease had disappeared for good!
But I have noticed in the last year or so, that people seem like they are returning to their “own” way of doing. Had seen a posting on Twitter and was appalled by what was given. The person reported themselves in a ‘jam’ and they needed help for a house to host their project. What happened to the days of speaking forth the Lord’s words for His glory?  It appears today, that many just choose to do it their way. In their “suddenly” they forgot God! YOU know suddenly this occurred and it was far from their thinking. When was the last time they prayed?

It appears that if God does not show up for this, they will take the “matter” into their own hands and call it “good”. God called the world and the universe into being. He spoke “light be” and it is still expanding today! What He called into being is what He called "good"!
I do not know about you, but I choose to remain in faith. I have faced life and death situations and relied on the word of God to take me through the trial to see HIS glory revealed in my life and the life of my husband’s and our daughter and family. Truly God is good, but adding flesh to something will only add up to more flesh, the pig wallowing in the mire.
From the holy Scriptures we are told to continue in three things! We are to continue in love. John 15:9, to continue in prayer Romans 12:12; Colossians 4:2 and to remain in truth, 2 Timothy 3:14
And we are not to cast away our confidence: Hebrews 10:35. Let’s remain in truth, abiding in His power, His love and His strength.
Father, Your word tells us from John 15 and verse 9 that we are to abide in YOUR love and to continue in that love with Jesus. Today we continue in prayer of Romans 12:12 that we rejoice and exult in hope; being steadfast and patient in suffering and tribulation and to be constant in prayer. And from 2 Timothy 3:14 that we are to continue, to hold to the things that we have learned and of which we are convinced, knowing from whom we learned [them].
Father, we understand that Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose, and action. So that the man of God may be complete and proficient, well fitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Father, thank YOU for your word that works in our lives. May Your glory be seen in our lives today! We are to live by Your Word of truth. We believe it to prevail in our lives today and every day. We pray in Jesus' name.
Amen.

Not the Flavor of the Month Nor the Spice for Which the Church Body Needs

Voice of Prayer
Well, hold on to truth of what God has placed in you!
Sometimes we find ourselves motivated by the Holy Spirit to move in the “anointing” and to do it just like God asked only to find out months or years later that it is not the desired “thing” at the moment for that month or for that year.
Holy Spirit Fire does not exist within the body  of believer’s you find yourself surrounded by and you find there is no flavor you needed! YIKES! That would be a “hard” place to be. Yet, when we continue to seek God in all His counsel He will bring us to the place HE destined us to be.
The anointing of God is to enhance what He is doing. And there are seasons within the body in certain locations or regions around the world that either change leadership or the leadership dies, then the newly appointed leader or leaders desire a different venue, a different environment. Now whether it is of God, only God will know if there are prayer-people on sight to pray for those changes. But in truth, where we find ourselves can be much like Joseph did.
Potiphar’s wife desired him to be her flavor, but Joseph was headed into leadership from God and for God, but found himself in prison. His unique flavor belonged to God and Joseph did not fit. But times would change, and the needed flavor would be revealed.
In that timing that God orchestrated, the event for Joseph would come forward. Yes, we learned he knew of the 7years of the fat and the 7 years of the lean that was to come to that region. After the “dream” that Potiphar had dreamed, famine was coming to that nation.
Joseph’s flavor was needed. He came forward by the promotion from God. It was under Joseph’s direction that Egypt worked for the positive.
Where will you enhance the needed flavor? Ask God!
Whatever opportunities and the needed connections will bring the visibility you require for the Lord’s glory.  If you have relationships strained or just cut-off due to jealousy of others, know God is God. God is for you. If you find you are in “prison” due to being cut-off like Joseph, then your advancement is coming and according to God’s standard.
No matter what your current status may be, understand God knows where you fit and by that flavor He put in you, you will thrive in the new place when it is revealed.
When the “right” place is revealed, no one can stop it. Stay faithful to God and He will remain faithful to see you moved into position for His glory. It will come, be patient and look for it for God is good and He will reveal His goodness for you in the right time and right place.
In thinking on this, Moses was one who stood out today. Moses spoke as one might speak today: “What can I do, I am so weak and have no abilities.” Moses said, “I am not a man of words.” And in truth he spoke this. Without the Holy Spirit ,Moses might have been the one with the heavy tongue, yet when he spoke for God, his speech was of that of God for which God intended.

You know Stephen spoke this in the book of Acts. We find Stephen defending himself in chapter 7 of Acts.  Acts 7:22 And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds.
The Amplified for Acts 7:22 says this: So Moses was educated in all the wisdom and culture of the Egyptians, and he was mighty (powerful) in his speech and deeds.

Did Stephen mis-speak about Moses….absolutely not. For these two both spoke accurately. Moses was not the eloquent speaker, but Stephen also spoke correctly in that Moses spoke in that which God ordained for him to speak to Pharaoh.
When it is time, one will shine for the glory of God. We must be persistence, but be patient as well.
Psalm 145:17-19 Amp Bible 17 The Lord is [rigidly] righteous in all His ways and gracious and merciful in all His works. 18 The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him sincerely and in truth.19 He will fulfill the desires of those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him, He also will hear their cry and will save them.
1 Corinthians 16:13-14  Amp. Bible 13 Be alert and on your guard; stand firm in your faith ( your conviction respecting man’s relationship to God and divine things, keeping the trust and holy fervor born of faith and a part of it). Act like men and be courageous; grow in strength! 14 Let everything you do be done in love (true love to God and man as inspired by God’s love for us).

Amen!
