Sacred Cows, Healing and Behaving Badly

Bondage & Lies or Truth & Healing
Many Christians find this a difficult concept, especially when faced with sickness. As Jesus said, "Which is easier, to say, 'Your sins are forgiven you' or to say, 'Arise and walk'?" (Matthew 9.5).

Is it easier to accept salvation through faith in Christ Jesus' sacrifice, but when faced with an illness in the body faith is just too hard to find?

Romans 6:9-11.....9 For we know that Christ being raised from the dead will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him. 10 The death he died he died to sin, once for all, but the life he lives he lives to God. 11 So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus. RSV

According to this verse 11, we must consider ourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.
So ultimately and foremost we are temples of the Holy Spirit and so are swept clean from sin and sickness. Through His work on the Cross, we are reconciled to God. We stand as the free from sin and sickness.
We must touch heaven to change earth. And with that being said,we are made of earth, changes must come in our thinking and hold God at His Word of truth. In that we are freed from the power of that curse over mankind. Jesus must be the Lord over every part of who we are or we will end up looking like something that maybe the cat dragged in.

We can not take only the part that makes us feel good, but also look at where we must be corrected in that which God speaks for our lives. Sickness for some I have seen of late are the ones who are inflicted by inner  hurts. They are so damaged in their thinking and heart, one who really listens will hear their cry of pain. For whatever they are in bondage to from the past hurts will certainly show up in their daily life in every decision they must make.

An inner healing must take place for the person to live a victorious Christian life. What comes into play in most instances can be the work of demonic powers. Most do not like that word anymore they want to hear the word "pastor". Not sure why, but whatever has come into play, that mechanism operates producing a friction against others.

One of the most favorite of all scriptures to help for both areas of healing is found in Isaiah 53:4-5. It is both for the physical as well as the inner healing.

Isaiah 53:4-5
4 Surely he has borne our griefs
and carried our sorrows;
yet we esteemed him stricken,
smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions,
he was bruised for our iniquities;
upon him was the chastisement that made us whole,
and with his stripes we are healed.  RSV

The word 'sorrows' (v4) is from the Hebrew 'makobah' meaning pains or sorrow or grief. And Jesus was chastened (v5) for our well being (mind and body). Jesus started His public ministry by saying:
'He (God........... His Father) has sent Me to proclaim............. release to the captives … to set free those who are downtrodden …seen in....Luke 4:18-19
18 "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives
and recovering of sight to the blind,
to set at liberty those who are oppressed,
19 to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord." RSV

From Isaiah 61:1-2
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to bring good tidings to the afflicted;
he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
2 to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor,  RSV

He was sent to bind up the broken in heart.

If it is an emotional hurt, we are to pour it all out to Jesus, we hand it over to Him and let Him carry it, we take His free offer of peace and we take His offer of freedom that is only found in Him. It does no good to spill it upon someone just for us to have a shoulder to cry on. No, we must ultimately bring it to Jesus and lean into His goodness and love.
Really expecting by faith, we allow those chains to be removed, and God can do this.........in a moment of time. If you and I can take our salvation by faith in trust of Him, surely the same should come as quick when we keep our eyes of faith on Him. God is supernatural and His promises are true. We are to rest in Him and trust no matter what else is going on at the time, that God Himself will hear and know our cry.

But should a profound hurt be opened up from the demonic, then this must be dealt with first. It will likely need and require prayer and fasting:
'Is this not the fast which I chose, to loosen the bonds of wickedness, to undo the bands of the yoke, and to let the oppressed go free, and break every yoke?' (Isaiah 58.6)
Many times people will not forgive anyone. They start out with un-forgiveness toward one person and then it can lead into not forgiving anyone, till they have to control every situation in their lives, so that they might protect themselves from everything and everyone God is sending to help them. Because of their insecurities they set to assault others in the same or similar manner that they have been assaulted. It can come in words that only hurt others and for their own protection. They desire to regard those who will be on their side. Remember birds of a feather will flock together?

Scripture tells us in 1 Kings 18: 21...."If the LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him."

20 So Ahab sent for all the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets together on Mount Carmel. 21 And Elijah came to all the people, and said, "How long will you falter between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him." But the people answered him not a word. 22 Then Elijah said to the people, "I alone am left a prophet of the LORD; but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men. 23 Therefore let them give us two bulls; and let them choose one bull for themselves, cut it in pieces, and lay it on the wood, but put no fire under it; and I will prepare the other bull, and lay it on the wood, but put no fire under it. 24 Then you call on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the LORD; and the God who answers by fire, He is God." So all the people answered and said, "It is well spoken."

We have the choice to choose whom we will serve. We must not behave badly before others or allow others to behave badly before us.  If you gossip before me, I will call you on it.
How can you know if you are dealing with someone with such brokenness? Well it is in the stance they take, and what they speak that is the unreasonable and  is ultimately immune from any opposition. They hold a high regard that the "sacred cow" they have as their custom or their idea is put where they may observe and worship daily. Anyone seeing this will have the desire to pray for them....but we must know God is in it with us to pray for them.
I looked up the synonyms for the "sacred cow"...and the meaning was like this: golden calf, anything that is the object of worship. But I also found these: god, or goddess. Yeah, see those little g's?
Praying for all is paramount and when God gives the direction for us to do so. But if we see someone acting a certain way, and their behavior is not consistent with life to another, but bent on another's destruction, then we must not condone that kind of behavior.

"Well, he acts like that because he had such a terrible childhood!" Or, "she was just having a bad day, so it was okay for her to act like that. Each day we are framing our world and it should be with the Word of God....and not by he said or she said.
It is like seeing children on the playground: one boy of about eight or so has another pinned to the ground while others pour water over him ....making him cough and what .....that he begs them to please stop....but they do not....! That is not boys just being boys....No, they saw that some where and it is a part of them...to act it out in aggression to another boy.

Once heard this man speaking of his son. It seemed every time a meal was prepared, the youngest or what would become the middle child would complain of the food served and  the child would promptly gag at the plate set before them. Now this individual would continue to gag till the parent would coax him into something no one else was having to eat. Ta-dah….another meal being prepared for the “gagger”! Yikes.
Many times, as the parent with more than one child, will try to find an easy solution yet in the long-haul the child will expect the “special “treatment always. This is a destructive pattern for the parent and for the child who would be informed in the year to come another baby was now about to appear.
You can hear the parents cry and the child’s subsequent gagging reflex begin always around the meal time and all are gathered to eat while one is capitalizing on that which “he will not eat”….only to be catered too……while parents are not dealing with this child another smaller baby is now on their way into the same “house”.
The " gagging" child will even venture to speak this: “ mama, why did God make me this way?” or “daddy, why did God do this to me?” YIKES!

Certainly our nature is to become like Jesus. Our born-again man is to resemble Jesus in thought, word and deed. But many time people will resort to that destructive pattern. They receive that “sacred cow”  and believe the child might grow out of it.  But something like this is a deeply embedded thing! And continuing this practice will wear you out!!!!

God has certainly made us and He fashioned us in our mother’s womb. We take the walk of faith daily and obey Him. Now there may some place we might trip, but certainly we get up, dust off the pride thing and know God can help us and our children when we bring these matters to God. Bringing light will dispel the darkness of where you or I may have messed up what God planned for us or for our children. God does not make your child gag!

God can change situations when we allow Him to change them. But pretending our child is just a gagger is like the one who says….”well , boys will be boys”. It is our God who makes the broken new again. He does not approve of boys to participate in water-boarding!

When we allow certain behavior that is not consistent with being righteous before God then we are condoning the false, perpetuating their problems into our lives. We are not to commend the ill bent person for behaving badly and to correct..........for choosing to ignore that bad attitude, then we allow it into our homes and into our children's lives.  God is not mocked, what man sows, he will reap.
And some men or even women will find themselves in a greater hurt.
Water boarding seen in young boys and never stopped will increase and produce most likely death for another person at a later date!

Jesus gave us authority over sickness.Matthew 10:1-4.
10:1 And he called to him his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every infirmity. 2 The names of the twelve apostles are these: first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zeb'edee, and John his brother; 3 Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; 4 Simon the Cananaean, and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.   RSV

Jesus healed people because God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power .

Acts 10:38-43............RSV..........8 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power; how he went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him. 39 And we are witnesses to all that he did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They put him to death by hanging him on a tree; 40 but God raised him on the third day and made him manifest; 41 not to all the people but to us who were chosen by God as witnesses, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. 42 And he commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that he is the one ordained by God to be judge of the living and the dead. 43 To him all the prophets bear witness that every one who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name."

Healing for those who are oppressed of the devil is available to us. We have been clothed with power from on high. Hallelujah!
So, if you see some sickness caused by an unclean spirit, it is Christ's authority and power that is vital in healing for the person. "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of Lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning." James 1:17
What that is of God is a spiritual "thing" is truth, is life and brings healing and much change in our lives. Jesus went to the Cross so all could have all the good of God today. It was and is the most marvelous life-changing and yes, life establishing gift a Father could give us. Let's  receive it by faith!

What Do We Tell Our Children

In mainstream America, the day after the election, I heard this word of "what do we tell our children".
Knowing in elections, there is a winner and there is a loser and that is a foremost demonstration of a voting nation, only one will be victorious.
Hopefully we tell our children, and possibly their children is that we voted biblical principles. Hopefully we demonstrate by holding our tongues and finding out what issues the candidate holds true. It is what fills their heart and what they seek in their purpose for running a certain position.  The word over the news today, the day after the election was this:"that a miracle" had occurred.
I agree wholeheartedly that a miracle occurred. I believe God has shown that the great "I AM" is still looking over America and that the nation will be all that HE planned for her to become. People prayed!

What do we tell our children? Well if we know Jesus, God has a plan for our good and not for evil to give us a hope in our final outcome.

1 Timothy 2:1-7
2:1 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time, 7 for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle--I am speaking the truth in Christ and not lying--a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.  NKJV

1 Thessalonians 4:1-8
4:1 Finally then, brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God; 2 for you know what commandments we gave you through the Lord Jesus. 3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; 4 that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, 5 not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God; 6 that no one should take advantage of and defraud his brother in this matter, because the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also forewarned you and testified. 7 For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness. 8 Therefore he who rejects this does not reject man, but God, who has also given us His Holy Spirit.   NKJV

In this example of truth, we pray! Prayer should be ongoing for this nation we call America. It is not about a gender thing, a color thing but it is about the biblical principles God established and for which this nation was born. If we truly believe the word of God and actually live by it, then God's principles are vital and on the forefront. We were told in 1 Timothy 2 to pray. That in supplications, prayers, intercessions and giving thanks be made for all men. It is for all men! That in our walk with God, we are to please God. And it is by our faith in God that we please Him. That when we pray and believe the "the miraculous" happens! AMEN!
Hopefully you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior. And within that we are held by truth of God, held by His wisdom and to pray. We are to possess this vessel in sanctification and honor. Not in passion of lust to hurt others, not defraud or even lie about others. Not to complain, but pray.
We have a new president, as one in authority, we pray for him that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. God desires us all to know truth. It is God who planned that we would exist in this day and time, to be saved, adhere to His principles and line up with Him.

Before we speak to our children, my hope would be that we go to God and thank Him for someone who truly put down the plan he purposed as a candidate for the major "office "which was from God. That this man is sent into chaos. If we really stand together, then we pray. If we really stand together, we seek to know God's plans for the days and months ahead. Those with God will not be surprised, for they will know by prayer and His Word that He is very present in the "new administration" for this country.
No one is perfect, I notice that everyday as I peer in the mirror. But I know God and I know His Word works when we apply it to our lives and pray.

As for God, His way is perfect! The Word of the Lord is tested and tried; he is a shield to all those who take refuge and put their trust in Him! Our words from our mouths and the mediation of our hearts should be acceptable in His sight, Who is our firm impenetrable and rock our redeemer. If we really know Him, then we know it is His word that has revived us and given us this day to be thankful in. As His word is forever settled in heaven, may we hold that light to our feet and walk the path set before us. It is walking holy before Him.
It is His righteous decrees that endures forever. and as we hold Him up in praise and worship, we are to ask Him to guard our mouths. In that of watching our mouths, that guard is given to hold us in His truth and wisdom so that we can and should exhort another to see Jesus,

It is God who saw us in our mother's womb. He knew her and knew our father. He knew what life we would have. And within that He presented His Son as Savior to redeem us and to deliver us to lead lives, not as captives to a color thing, a gender thing, but to hold tight to the God thing, God's will which is His word! It is God Who gives us the ability to survive and to walk in good times and in bad times. He lifts our heads when we fall. He hears our prayers and He causes us to rest in Him that is of a sweet slumber.

Psalm 3:3-8
3 But You, O LORD, are a shield for me,
My glory and the One who lifts up my head.
4 I cried to the LORD with my voice,
And He heard me from His holy hill.
Selah

5 I lay down and slept;
I awoke, for the LORD sustained me.
6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people
Who have set themselves against me all around.

7 Arise, O LORD;
Save me, O my God!
For You have struck all my enemies on the cheekbone;
You have broken the teeth of the ungodly.
8 Salvation belongs to the LORD.
Your blessing is upon Your people. NKJV

CHANGE is needed and is a good thing! We are to hear God and obey Him. We are to pray for all citizens of this country, no matter their color or gender. In all things we are to glorify God and exclaim His goodness to others.
Today, let's ask God to help us draw thanksgiving forth from our inner resources to give thanks to Him and give thanks for this nation. Let's seek Him in prayer, affirm that He is Lord over our lives and our childrens, and speak that our trust is in Him. Let' s remember today as we pray that His goodness and His mercy is everlasting. Despite any bruising of egos, despite any hurts, God is for us. Run to the SHELTER of your soul. Cry out if you are distressed, and as you come near to God, He will come near to you.
Find peace in Him and then tell your children, God is here. Immanuel is with us. And that He bequeathed  to us His peace. He is our refuge in time of trouble, upheaval and yes in change.
Then speak to your children, and speak His goodness. Tell them it is good to live in this nation where people can vote. Tell them we were established on God's principles and they are to be active in their hearts and by their faith. And as you speak, may life spring forth for the good for your children and your grand-children. Tell them that you believe you live in peaceable habitation, safe dwellings and in quiet resting places. In graciousness, give them the Word of God that will bring stability to them. Help them to be strengthened ---every day! Help them to stay focused on their studies at school and at church. Help them to concentrate on the family life within the home. And pray together.

Father God, we know that we are to be responsible leaders within our homes and our communities. We know that You have thoughts and plans for us, those plans for good and not evil to give us a hope. Help us to overcome weariness of the day and hour of which we live. We desire Father to be reinforced in YOU. Help us to speak words that heal and not wound. Father, help us to speak good and to not fear man. You are our light and our salvation.  We desire to conform to Your will and order. We shall be far from the thought of oppression or destruction. In this day and in this hour, we pray and confess that we shall see those who have never heard of Jesus. In this day and in this hour, we stand strong in You and we will speak that eyes be opened to see life in Jesus and that we would be bold to speak in His name. We pray the upright shall in our government. YOUR Word declares that blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. (Psalm 33:12)
We declare with our mouths that Your people dwell safely in this land, and that they prosper abundantly. We confess to be more than conquerors. The heart of the king (our new president) is in the hand of the Lord and You God turn it whichever way You desire. We believe our leader of this nation is in Your hand and that his decisions are divinely directed of the Lord. The gospel of the Good news is published in our land. Thank Your Lord for this land and the leaders You have given to us . May we pray regularly and not lose heart in Jesus' name. Amen

The Orphan: The One WHO CAN FINISH STRONG!

John 14:18-21................18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

19 "A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also. 20 At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. 21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him."    NKJV

Jesus mentions the orphan. in John 14, but we also see it in the Old Testament.
Lamentations 5:1-5......1 Remember, O LORD, what has happened to us;
look, and see our disgrace.
2 Our inheritance has been turned over to aliens,
our homes to foreigners.
3 We have become orphans and fatherless,
our mothers like widows.
4 We must buy the water we drink;
our wood can be had only at a price.
5 Those who pursue us are at our heels;
we are weary and find no rest.  NIV

James 1:27..........27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. NIV

Psalm 25:16-18.............16 Turn Yourself to me, and have mercy on me,
For I am desolate and afflicted.
17 The troubles of my heart have enlarged;
Bring me out of my distresses!
18 Look on my affliction and my pain,
And forgive all my sins.
NKJV

Many people today are voicing loudly their life of the desolate. Many have not seen the example of a "figure" to lead them with wisdom. Many today have been led by maybe a sibling or friend and most have been taken far from the place of being nurtured in love, but brought up in neglect, or left as in abandonment, and in deprivation of anything to sustain them to life. Love never enters the arena where they reside. These are they who are usually used in some way for another's gain.

These are the "orphans"!
This has come on my heart to write in the last few days. I was never left an orphan, but I met many who had been left to their own devices. I met many who had to fend for themselves, and I saw the mistakes they made by trying to be "grown up" when there was still so much of a child inside. One young lady who had failed a couple of years in school, desired to quit school and marry. I remember watching this game being played at our school one afternoon. It was a basketball practice being held outside and I remember sitting next to this young teen. Although she was some three years older than me, I liked her gentle spirit. She loved to talk and so did I.  I was in Jr. High and liked being that age and being in school.I loved "homework"!  But this one talked how she wanted to be married and take care of a home. I wondered, "does someone really like cleaning house and cooking food"? Remember I was in Jr. High.

Today we are seeing many displaced people who desire living out on the streets and alley ways. Some got there by misfortune and others because they chose it. A friend of mine for some years, worked down in the Seattle area, and she saw this women one day with a shopping cart loaded down with all kinds of things. The Lord had told my friend to walk over and talk with her. Well, the first time, she said no to the Lord. But the next time, she went quickly with a willing heart.
I remember her take on the whole conversation. She said as she approached the woman, who was nicely dressed in Asian apparel. Her hair appeared nicely cared for and did not look like someone who lived on the street. My friend offered the lady some money and told her that "the Lord loved her". The woman told my friend that she liked living on the street as she did not want to work! My friend encouraged her in some way and walked away. She said she remembered turning back for a last look at the woman and felt sad for her.  She saw the Asian woman one more time on that street corner and then saw her no more. Today, when people get into a "fix" by either spending too much money, one spouse passes from sudden death or long illness, or a job is lost with no back-up savings, many people find there is no home to go back to as there was many decades ago. In decades past, If someone came upon hard times, the family came together and often times lived in the same house for years. It happened in the Dust Bowl era and crash of 1929. But today, there is no place to go to, and many have found they can draw a check from government and never have to work again. I wonder what will happen when the government stops sending those checks out?
Yet, there are those who need not a handout but a hand up......a lifting with encouragement and maybe rent for a month!

Many times a youth is thrown out of their home because of not obeying the rules of the house or they want something that the parent's see as detrimental to the youth's or teenagers whole being. It is important for us to be fruitful and produce a place where others will desire to come. People have no homes they were raised in to go back to, but what if there is A PLACE in God that we can be fruitful in and present to those who are wandering in the desolate area of life?
We are to value our children and grand-children and not throw them into the street to fend for themselves. But so many have been dealt a brutal blow by those that gave them life and are now these have grown into adults and are raising their own children. And that orphan mentality can certainly affect how we raise our "kids" if we are still experiencing this "orphan" image.
God surely created us in His image and He desires good for us. He planned for us and when we would exist to accomplish His plan in the earth.

Genesis 1:26-28.........26 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth."
NKJV

Isaiah 40:18-20..........18 To whom then will you liken God?
Or what likeness will you compare to Him?
19 The workman molds an image,
The goldsmith overspreads it with gold,
And the silversmith casts silver chains.
20 Whoever is too impoverished for such a contribution
Chooses a tree that will not rot;
He seeks for himself a skillful workman
To prepare a carved image that will not totter. NKJV

What image have people followed? What god did they create for themselves to follow? Did they follow their own lusts to find defiance and death?  Did they follow those "voices" of destruction, those who use and throw away children? How about the little 5 year old who has no name, and was found dead in a trash bag in the harbor of a great city? How did we get to be a nation who cares not for their children? There is no other way to life other than Jesus. All others lead to destruction. Everything else is but a lie, and can be beautifully ornamented as we see from the scripture above. Those things of the world are not the real life God has for us. He has placed eternity in each of us and He desires us to know Him and spend quality time with Him.
Apart from God, we can only experience death.

Matthew 5:48............48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.  NKJV

That perfection is in that perfect love seen in  1 John 4:18. His love is spoken throughout to us in that word written as the Bible. He speaks in truth to us and we grow more in Christ......that unrelenting pursuit was seen in Jesus and accomplished on the cross.

Those who walk those crooked paths are certainly found out. As we see from Proverbs 10:9......Proverbs 10:9...........9 The man of integrity walks securely,

but he who takes crooked paths will be found out.  NIV
Those who walk out their journey through other means than love for their neighbor end up in "bad places" and with not so good people!

 They are shown to be what they are........2 Timothy 3 :2-5.......2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God-- 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them. NIV

We are seeing generation after generation,those who have no influence that leads to righteousness, but those who saw a parent die, and the other be a lover of themselves. We are seeing those who have been abandoned by another's own brutal behavior, lack of love, and displaying unforgiving hearts!
Those who truly follow their own passions find heartache, loss and loneliness. And those children who are left behind to fend for themselves wonder why "the parent" left them. They wonder why "the parent" chose alcohol or drugs or just chose to desert them.
But Jesus said He would not leave us orphans. He said that He would come to us!

Psalm 25:16-21.............16 Turn to me and be gracious to me,
for I am lonely and afflicted.
17 The troubles of my heart have multiplied;
free me from my anguish.
18 Look upon my affliction and my distress
and take away all my sins.
19 See how my enemies have increased
and how fiercely they hate me!
20 Guard my life and rescue me;
let me not be put to shame,
for I take refuge in you.
21 May integrity and uprightness protect me,
because my hope is in you.  NIV

Lately I have seen those who walk in integrity toward others and still seem to get the "shaft". They are sorely mistreated!  And these people feel abandoned by society themselves. They have been in "church" but not followed the true path of knowing God and what Jesus did for them.
The psalmist wrote in Psalm 25 and verse 20....that he desired God to guard his life.......rescue him for the person had sought God as His refuge. The person did not want to come to shame. (shame: an embarrassment of foolish behavior) The psalmist desired to be one of integrity and uprightness. He had directed his hope in God!

Romans 15:13..........13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.   NIV

In prayer we are to fasten upon the names, the titles and attributes of God. As we confess, and spend time with those scriptures our faith in those names, title and attributes of Who God is strengthens our faith.
As the God of hope fills us with all joy and peace as we put our trust in Him, we overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
But God!  When we turn away from the world and look into God's instruction (the Bible) we find our path!
Can we  possibly nurture others in the God of hope?
Can we influence them, with a Godly heritage and beckon them to God's holy word of repentance and life? Just because "maw" or "paw" went to the church for many years, does not make one a Christian. Following Jesus and the commands given to us, is the Way, the Truth and the Life! It is not following what religion speaks, but what is in your heart to things of God. If we direct people into fellowship of God and the Holy Spirit, we direct them into "freedom".
Then the "orphans" leave bondage and the drudgery of the negative lifestyle or traditions. As each of us spend time in this beautiful love letter, we become aware that we were and are truly loved by God!
He has the answer! Our diet must change to the sustenance that will sustain us We must turn from that replaying that tune or hearing those voices of yesteryear that come to remind us that we were abandoned. We must tune out those lies that destroy and turn to truth that brings life to us. Our instruction must come from God and Him alone. We must join ourselves with the flock that follows Jesus as Lord and our Defender!

I have seen this in a young pastor who just found his calling a few years back. He is giving back of his talents and the gifts God has in him and he moves easily from neighborhoods to the market place.
And to those who might have had, even some Sunday school as youths and teens, you are still called of God to fill a place. If that one place within you seems void of life, now is the time to turn toward God and call on Him to fill that void by His Holy Spirit. I know I experienced it as well. I know it exists, but do not spend your years on the fruitless and lifeless things like I did, turn now and find that life God has for you and will direct you into.

If you are still facing that "orphan" attitude, then ask God what you need to hear and learn to leave the other behind. Ask God to lead you by His Spirit into that care of His loving kindness that will replenish the spirit, soul and body. Ask Him to show what instruction you need and to please send those instructors and teachers your way. Ask HIM to help you hear the voice of life unto life. Ask Him to show you those who are allowed to speak into your life.
Remind God that He created you for a purpose in His mind and ask Him what it is. Know that He is for you and not against you!

Romans 8:31-35...........31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all-how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died-more than that, who was raised to life-is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?    NIV

Psalm 32:8-9.......8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will guide you with My eye.
9 Do not be like the horse or like the mule,
Which have no understanding,
Which must be harnessed with bit and bridle,
Else they will not come near you.  NKJV

When we allow God to have His way in our lives, we can "finish strong"........!

Proverbs 23:12    12 Apply your heart to instruction,
And your ears to words of knowledge.  NKJV

Proverbs 24:11   11 Deliver those who are drawn toward death,
And hold back those stumbling to the slaughter.  NKJV

Proverbs 5:1-2  .......   My son, pay attention to my wisdom;
Lend your ear to my understanding,
2 That you may preserve discretion,
And your lips may keep knowledge. NKJV

Psalm 42:8 ......   8 The LORD will command His loving-kindness in the daytime,
And in the night His song shall be with me--
A prayer to the God of my life. NKJV

Jesus sent His Spirit..........and it is renewing the face of the earth. For what Adam and Eve did in the Garden of Eden..........Jesus took all that sin and nailed it to the cross and through His body. The Comforter, the Helper has come!

John 14:25-31.......25 "These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. 28 You have heard Me say to you, 'I am going away and coming back to you.' If you loved Me, you would rejoice because I said, 'I am going to the Father,' for My Father is greater than I. 29 And now I have told you before it comes, that when it does come to pass, you may believe. 30 I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in Me. 31 But that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father gave Me commandment, so I do. NKJV

Let not the orphan attitude keep you away from the plan God has for you. Move forward to confess and rehearse those scriptures to remind you that God is still on the scene. He has not forgotten you or forsaken you.
  Today, apply your heart to instruction and your ears to words of knowledge. Pay attention to the wisdom of God and lend your to understanding that it may preserve discretion and your lips may keep knowledge.

Understand and know that Lord will not hear if we regard iniquity in our heart.   He desires us to forgive, forgive and forgive! He desires us to forgive others as He has forgiven us.

  For those who still sense they have that "orphan" attitude......please pray to the God of your life.

Today, I pray,................I recognize I have a Father You planned for me. I am loved. I may not know the extent of it yet, but YOU are for me! A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows are You God in Your holy dwelling. It is YOU Who has set the lonely in families and You lead forth the prisoners with singing. (Psalm 68:5-6)
Father God, make me strong and courageous.  I have read that the NAME OF THE LORD is a strong tower and the righteous run to it and are safe. (Prov. 18:10)......Help me not to be afraid or terrified because of anyone else, for You, the Lord my God, go with me; You will never leave me or forsake me. (Deut. 31:6)
Lord, how I thank YOU for the assurance that You will not reject Your people; You will never forsake Your inheritance. (Psalm 94:14)
Father, today, I bask and take comfort in Your promise that You will go before me and make the rough places smooth; You will shatter the gates of bronze and cut through their iron bars. (Psalm 107: 15-16) You will give me the treasures of darkness and hidden wealth (riches) of secret places, in order that I may know that it is You, the Lord, the God of Israel, who calls me by name. (Isaiah 45:2-3)
Father God, I ask You to lead me when I am blinded by ways I have not known. Help me to walk along the unexpected and unknown paths. Guide me into Your glorious Presence so that I can hear Your voice. Please,turn the darkness into light before me and make the rough places smooth.  I know You will not forsake me. ( Isaiah 42:16) I pray these things You will certainly do.
I receive You as my Father. Lead me into that You planned for me. Thank You  for  the Holy Spirit, whom the Father sent in Jesus' name, He will teach me all things, and bring to my remembrance all things that has been said to me of truth, in discipline, and guidance in YOUR holy word.  I thank YOU for Peace that YOU left with me, I will not let my heart be troubled, neither will I let it be afraid.
 Amen and Amen.

Did YOU Know that God Sings over YOU?

Zephaniah 3:17
17 The LORD your God in your midst,
The Mighty One, will save;
He will rejoice over you with gladness,
He will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing." NKJV

When God saved us, sending Jesus for our sins, He came to abide in our midst, and to be on the scene!
He became engaged in our lives, to make us a part of the family.
God, the Mighty One, wanted to get involved with us............Hallelujah!

Do we notice Him throughout our day? Do we "see" Him moving on our behalf? God did not just do "a one time thing" for us, He came to spend every day with us. I, too, must remember to invite Him in each day. "Come Holy Spirit, and have your way in my life and home today!" For if we invite Him to be there, He is engaged in our every moment of living. But if I disregard Him, and have no intent of inviting Him in, then I am the one who loses out!
God came to save us, yes, but He also came to be a part of our lives. He came to participate with us. But do we take Him for granted? Who would not like to be participating with God?
God the Holy Spirit can take us through each moment of our day showing us with the "light of His word" what is wrong, what is out of place, and what needs correction. Seriously, I do not want to keep doing the same 'ole thing, if it is not productive, and is a total waste of my time.

God is the "perfect Father (Matthew 5:48) that loves us with perfect love (1 John 4:18).  God our Father, had an unrelenting pursuit of us. My desire is that we would have hearts that passionately pursue our Father God and that others would know we have a passion to be with Him and know Him like we should, as a Father knows His child, and the child Knows the Father!

He will rejoice over you with gladness.........He rejoices over us......with gladness........with blessedness, with bliss, but it also means a triumph..........a victory!
He quiets us with His love.......a quietness, but strength! God is the Adonai, Jehovah, the completely Self-Existing One, always present, revealed in Jesus. God our Victory, our Standard. For His banner over us is LOVE.
The same God who created the heavens and the earth....Elohim, is the Most High God, the Everlasting God, the Great God, and He rejoices over us who are the saved, the Redeemed.
Allow Him, the Holy Spirit to come and quiet you with His love today and allow Him to let you hear the song He sings over you!

Father, in Jesus name, we understand prayer not be a religious form, but praying YOUR word brings power into our lives. For the Word that YOU Speak GOD is alive and full of power---making it active, operative, energizing; it is sharper than any two-edged, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [that is, of the deepest parts of our nature] exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart. (Hebrews 1:12 amp)
We truly ask YOU into every situation, every part of our lives today and seek to be quieted by Your love. You have given us the victory through Your Son and we stand as sons in Your kingdom. Lord show us the way we are to walk today, guide us through Your truth and to let go of that which causes us time and money we could be devoting to YOU and Your kingdom. We thank You for that perfect love of which You have loved us and we ask You to burn a passion in our hearts so others will know that our God, our Father, is our passion, our delight! We are thankful for the Standard that is raised today and we will fear no evil for our God is with us, He is in our midst. Thank You Lord for hearing and we set our hearts to be thankful everyday for YOUR goodness to us in the land of the living. Amen
