Hooked to the World by an App

Revelation 13:1-18 NKJV Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name. 2 Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne and great authority. 3 And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. 4 So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying “Who is like the beast?” Who is able to make war with him?” 5 And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months. 6 Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. 7 It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue and nation. 8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. 9 If anyone has an ear, let him hear. 10 He who leads into captivity shall go into captivity; he who kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and faith of the saints.

11 Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. 12 And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. 13 He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. 14 And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. 15 He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of beast, should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. 16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. 18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666.

In the first two chapters of Genesis reveals the beginning of God’s plan which was purposed to putting a man in the garden. And in that, a deception came to disrupt….a voice from the dust.  And Genesis 3:1 tells us that the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. Yes a voice came from the dust as a beast.  BUT in the last two chapters of the Bible is the book of Revelation and in this that which was planned in the Beginning is resumed in the glory of God, of His Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.

From Revelation 21:6 reveals that there was no more sea. For this was done away with in Revelation 20:11 for the earth and the heaven will flee away from God of  the White Throne judgment.  So “this sea” in this passage does not mean water, but of a spirit pertaining to the spiritual and a beast…….that is, it is a sea that holds a perpetual unrest as seen from Mark 4:39 where the wind and wave obeyed Jesus! This sea represents a “beast” …an unruly hostile "troubler" of God’s people: His name is Thay--reon. This troubler is seen in Revelation 13:1 and 13:11, he is equipped in demonic magic and ventriloquism.  Revelation 13:1 Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name. Yes, this beast will be done away with as described as the sea Jesus speaks of in Revelation 21:6!

Judgment will come and that sea will give up her dead. All that Thay—reon took captive. This beast will cease to destroy or disturb. If we truly look at this, we find the first beast is a man, the troubler with demonic ties. But when we look at the second "beast", this word has the meaning of not man but an idol. And behind every idol is a lie.

Where are idols found in this world, well, one is found in your phone. It is like a lifeline to the world. And this world, apps are provided to simplify your life. Oh, yes there is an app for you to use. And the "beast" will have this idol at your fingertips so that he can keep connected to you for his own intent! It will lie to you and tell you that you "really" need this app.

(In referring to the hand, it is considered the right hand when having a connection to fellowship: "the right hand of fellowship".)

Galatians 2:9-14  NKJV 9 and when James, Cephas (Peter), and John who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that had been given to me, they gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised. 10 They desired only that we should remember the poor, the very thing which I also was eager to do. 11 Now when Peter had come to Antioch, I withstood him to his face, because he was to be blamed; 12   for before certain men came from James, he would eat with the Gentiles; but when they came, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision. 13 And the rest of the Jews also played the hypocrite with him, so that even Barnabas was carried away with their hypocrisy. 14  But when I saw that they were not straightforward about the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter before them all, "If you, being a Jew, live in the manner of Gentiles and not as the Jews, why do you compel Gentiles to live as Jews?

In verse 10 of Revelation 13..the call is for endurance and faith of the saints. Faith is required ….it should be a knowing of the past faith walk in Him, that although He is neither chaotic nor is He haphazard, but the end times have been orchestrated by Him. It is you and I who are to walk like a beautiful song on a stormy day, to live in harmony with God seated in heavenly places while hell is breaking loose….on earth.

Faith people exhibit a language that speaks the new spiritual life and where Christ the true is praised. Those of faith hold truth and speak it as Jesus spoke !

Faith people make room for life and living…..they make room to rest in Him and abide in His presence. For it is in Him we learned to praise Him in the midst of trials and tribulations and see His glory cover our land.

In this hour we should imagine God waving a caution flag before us. He is revealing an area of danger in that life line to the world. For you and I will not be involved in any of the same political, social, and military circles as the Beast who is alive today. His political wisdom and flattery's are exhibited in his public policies. He is an unconverted man.  His use of political strategies will essentially appeal to the lust of flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life found 1 John 2:15-17. His appeal will be for us to abandon our own faith and give cooperation to his agenda. It involves a trust and loyalty to him. It is submitting not to God but to political programs. He will have his umbrella of peace and safety.  Should we now consider and keep to the fore front of our thinking that when his seduction and subversion through flattery's fail, it is truly of reign of terror that will ensue where persecution begins.

Thank you to all who give heed to the Lord. We are thankful for His truth in this hour of chaos. In a past teaching from about 4 years ago, I had written where we would not be part of the end times, that the United States would not be there. But I was wrong! What I have seen, read and learned from the past few years from a different frame of thinking and walking. But today, I can see and hear the good Shepherd. He is for us and we are under the shadow of the Almighty. We reside in His peace and His safety. We learn by being in His presence. We understand Him by His commitment to truth He has given. He never changes! Amen!

The Crucified Life

In that crucified life we can hear the Lord speak! In that life, they produce some 100-fold for the kingdom of God. They are producers of good fruit to glorify God.

In Psalm 90:12 so teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom.  Accountability on our part is that all our actions in this life should hold an amount of fear. It is not fearing God as one of wrath, but one who is always before us in His sweetness, and light. It is seeing Him in His everlasting nature. He is the all-sufficient God, mighty and unconquerable.

Psalm 119:133 Direct my steps by Your word, and let no iniquity have dominion over me. 134 Redeem me from the oppression of man.

Philippians 1:27 only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind, striving together for the faith of the gospel.

Here Paul talks of one's conduct. In this time period, men and women prized their citizenship as Roman citizens. But the most important conduct today is to behave in a manner befitting citizens of the kingdom of God.

In thinking of these words as to the kingdom of God, will be choose to unify with Christ Jesus? Philippians 4:6-7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Would this be our theme verse for 2026 or any other year? Will we feed our mind the things of God's kingdom or of this world that is passing away......?

Isaiah 55:1-3  NKJV  "Ho! Everyone who thirsts,

Come to the waters; And you who have no money,

Come, buy and eat.

Yes, come, buy wine and milk Without money and without price.

2 Why do you spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy?

Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And let your soul delight itself in abundance.

3  Incline your ear, and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live;

And I will make an everlasting covenant with you— The sure mercies of David.

Isaiah 55:1-3 contains an appeal, continuing the theme that there is a spiritual food that nourishes the inner man and fills one's life in a way and with abundance that all of a person's material things cannot. Your house nor your car can save you from hell. Here we see that God is speaking about His Word seen in the word "listen," which is directly connected to the phrase "eat what is good." This food is, of course, spiritual, and its source is God. Interestingly, He says to come and buy, but not with money. This food cannot be purchased with material wealth. All the money in the world cannot purchase it, but it still must be bought. Recall that the foolish virgins in Matthew 25 are advised to go out and buy oil from those who sell in preparation for the coming of the Bridegroom.

The "food" in Isaiah 55 and the "oil" in Matthew 25 can be bought only by means of the dedication and commitment of one's life in submission to Christ. Being committed to Christ is seen in our lifestyles!

By being a living sacrifice in prayer, study, meditation, and obedience, one becomes energized by the food of God's Word. In addition, one can "purchase" it only from those appointed by God to "sell" it. It can only be bought from those already converted and provided by God with the gifts to teach it to others. In most cases, this is the ministry of the true church.

Do you know that "true church"?

Jeremiah 3:15 provides us with clear Old Testament evidence that the principle of feeding the mind with the correct instruction leads to good spiritual health: "And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding." God clearly states that a mind fed with the right things can produce wisdom, holiness, and happiness. ( Imagine your life if you ate hamburgers every day. And this burger has three slices of bacon on it.)

Here it is God who promises that those who hear Him will be fed the elements of an abundant life through shepherds who exhibit godly character. God's Word, if it is believed and practiced, produces a unique perspective of life and a balance that cannot be found through any other means. Nothing that man has produced through philosophy or religion can even come close. Think of those who have created a religion like Mormons. These elements of human society have played major roles in producing restless, anxious, violent cultures. Know  any of these? Have you seen some appear in your own community?

In reading a recent newspaper from our area, I came across an article written by a group who are providing a teaching on authoritarianism. This event is scheduleease and comfort, d to be rolled out in January. It appears that they will give participants opportunities to discuss and join projects that oppose authoritarian measures currently being seen and done by current federal government. My question is: "where were all you the last four years in the last administrations rolled out such organizations?

Is that for folks who want to oppose an existing government established some 250 years ago??? Men can certainly fail you indeed. But I believe many voted for the recent President and I am certain he would desire all righteous men to pray for him as he leads this nation!

In hearing of such government oppositions, stomping your feet and demanding your wants is childish. One should be willing to vote for righteous ways and not unethical violent practices! And my next question would be on what amount of time have you spent praying over your leader and country?

People desire ease and comfort. They want you to give them "free stuff" while they tell you to leave them alone. People today want ease and no frictions. Although they carry tons of baggage over the last 25 years, they choose to find only those who like what they like and hate all others even if it is a leader of a nation or at their own job.

Of recent years, both my husband and I have had many days to record our thankfulness for still being alive in this hour. We have written down what God has done for us in the darkest hour we have seen. We have seen change come so quickly and hard to change my own life indeed. But my husband stepped up to help when I could not do for me. He stepped up, humbled himself to working from home so he could help me and not depend on another. For men will fail you indeed but prayer and God's word bring us wisdom and of course His peace. Today, a new year begins, not weighted down with past things, but looking forward with less clutter and much peace in seeing each day yielding the goodness of God. We record, yes, the good, the bad and the ugly, but we give much thanks to Him who is our sufficiency!

While I worked and my husband seemed distant at times, I found Psalm 92 so helpful to me. Verse 1-2 It is good to give thanks to the LORD and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; 2 to declare Your lovingkindness in the morning, and Your faithfulness every night.

I found God good and faithful in my loneliness. I found giving Him thanks for His faithful heart, I could take that brokenness of my heart and hold tightly. I found by letting go of His hand and taking His heart, we connected in a deeper level. For any anxiety that existed, I could minister His heart to others every day. In the morning, I expressed with loud voice to thanking His all-sufficiency and at night again, a voice filled our home with love for His grace to a broken world.

Yes, we two have seen good times and hard times. We have seen this life together in sickness and health, and know God is available in every season. He is waiting as we listen to His voice of wisdom and run to declare it to others. We know the darkness of the enemy and the pain of any struggle. And prayer is a God-thing. It is about reaching His heart for His glory and His praise. And in return we walk in His wisdom dwelling in peace daily. Certainly Jesus knew these things.  He declared them from the cross as He hung giving up His last breath.

We pray for those attending this event in January. We pray they stop violence to live in God's peace. Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

When the Spirit fully controls the life of a believer, He produces all of these graces. The 1st three have to do with our attitude toward God. The second three deal with social relationships and the third group describes principles that guide a Christian's conduct.

You and I must make a choice. We must choose to secure the best diet for the mind to utilize and assimilate into one's moral and spiritual character, as well as other expressions of our own personality. Can you imagine scripture today as to the man beaten on the pathway to the city and was robbed and beaten by bandits where a Good Samaritan rescued him. ( You can see on T.V. even 15 minutes, another person being thrown on that pathway, a child with disease, a veteran of a war or a wife left with 5+ plus children. It is all about throwing others on that roadway so a good Samaritan is coming by every 15 minutes.)

Today, we know that it is the world that always produces an almost overwhelming amount of spiritual junk food and outright spiritual garbage, and it is within easy reach of any mind anywhere no matter where one lives. You know that today if you own a television set or a cell phone all that "Junk" is just a swipe away. It is a place of harm, and violence. It is a place where God is not revered.  Let us look forward, reaching for God's heart and not His hand. Reach out in prayer and believe God is there in the midst, in His goodness, we expect godly behavior, prayer against any violent behavior, and love for our neighbor. This is not for the one who breaks the laws of this land where we live, but one who reveres what God has done in the past. He can do it again when we lean into His word and His love. Amen.

The Echos of Faith

Turning from the twinkling light of the tree in the corner of the room, and turning eyes on the leather bound Bible in hand, it is a silent night. In the brightness of His coming upon a midnight hour, He is to live and die for mankind! Born to change things on earth toward God, it is on a hilltop far away He will die with few surrounding Him with tears in eyes.

In the echoes of faith, it was Jesus who prayed for Jerusalem.

For the Righteous Cause: Jesus came…and these were His last words:

THE 1st WORD: "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do."

Luke 23:34……

1.   He came to earth, to live as a man, and died between two criminals.

2.   Hanging by the strength of nails, he sees the soldiers who mocked and scourged Him.

3.   Tortured and visible in His mind Caiaphas & the high priests of the Sanhedrin…have sentenced Him to die. With blood running over his eyes, He sees John with His mother Mary.

4.   His apostles and friends deserted Him. Peter denied Him 3 times…….& only the fickle remain, yes that crowd who just praised Him on His entrance into that city of Jerusalem has now demanded His crucifixion some days later at Golgotha!

Forgiveness is His focus! His love prevailed! In those final hours on earth, He has forgiven those who trespassed against Him, including Peter. Jesus had told Peter in Matthew 18:21-22 to seventy times seven to forgive another. He forgave the paralytic at Capernaum: Mark 3:3-12. He forgives the sinful woman who anointed Him in the home of Simon the Pharisee: Luke 7:37-48! The adulteress caught in the act and was to be stoned: John 8:1-11.

Jesus cried out in a loud voice,  "Father, into your hands I commend my spirit." Luke 23:46…Jesus obedient to will of His Father to the end, & his final word before on the Cross was a prayer to His Father. The relationship of Jesus to the Father is given in John 3:16 “ For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him may not perish but have eternal life.” Jesus declared, “The Father and I are one.” John 10:30 ; He had a return ticket: "I came from the Father and have come into the world; again, I am leaving the world and going to the Father" John 16:28  Jesus fulfills His own mission and that of His Father on the Cross! He directs His final word, “Father, into Your hands I commend My spirit. Luke 23:46; "Now when the centurion saw what had taken place, he praised God and said, "Certainly this was a righteous Man" (Luke 23:47).

The echoes of faith resound even now. The sound somewhere is heard, the married woman desiring a child of her own to hold.  She asks by calling unto Him in her darkest hour?

What about the man or woman given a death sentence by their own doctor and that their days are numbered in weeks and not months? In their fear of death so soon they ask Him for long life and that He would "keep watch" over them some 24/7. Yet on any given Christmas holiday they complained of spending one hour with Him in His House!

But what about the person who gives Him praise in the middle of the night? What about that man or woman who thanks Him for their life, for their job and their family? What about the one who remembers to say "Thank you for the good" when only bad appears by breaking out all around them?

Jesus knew one thing: He knew the Father sent Him for purpose!   Jesus on the cross, giving up His body and by shedding His blood completely satisfied God’s requirement: Hebrews 10:12-14 NKJV But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, 13 from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool. 14 For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are going sanctified.

It was about God having His family:  Opened up the gates of Heaven for anyone that would believe in Him John 3:16: For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

That Steadfast faith speaks: Hebrews 6: 19-20 that the Hope we have as an anchor for our soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, 20 where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus having become High Priest forever according to the order of Mechizedek………Reminded from Hebrews 7:24 But He, because He continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood. 25 Therefore He is able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.

It is  In HIM, we have the benefit of life eternal.  1 John 5:10-12 NKJV 10 He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. 11 And this is the testimony; that God has given us eternal life, & this life is in His Son. 12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

Romans 2:6-11 Amp. Bible 6 for He will render to every man according to his works [justly, as his deeds deserve]. 7 To those who by patient persistence in well-doing [spring from piety] seek [unseen but sure] glory and honor and [the disobedient to the Truth  but responsive to wickedness, there will be indignation and wrath. 9 [And] there will be tribulation & anguish & calamity & constraint for every soul of man who [habitually] does  evil, the Jew first & also the [Gentile]. 11 For God shows no partiality [undue favor or unfairness; with Him one man is not different from another. Our answer is in Jesus from Matthew 11:29-30 He said “take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle &lowly in heart….you will find rest for your soul. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Of the last century , it was found in the winter of 1944 a winter not confined to the names of la Nina nor la Nino, but as to the "brutal" type. It was as the Allied forces were facing the ferocious German counteroffensive in the Battle of the Bulge. It would be General George S. Patton who wound find peace in prayer. With relentless rains and much fog, the grounded planes and troops were stalled. He had urged the Third Army to seek God for clear skies:   Almighty and most merciful Father, we humble beseech You, of the great goodness, to restrain these moderate rains. Grant us fair weather for Battle. Graciously hearken to use as soldiers who may advance from victory to victory, and crush the oppression and wickedness of our enemies and and establish Your justice among men and nations.

Yes, the weather broke, and triumph appeared. It was in the desperate hour that prayer, an echo of faith proved God would hear and answer. Truly awesome: Matthew 18:19 that where two or three are gather in His name, God is there. He moves. (this would invite an invitation into prayer and having faith in Him, and not the government nor any Snap Benefits.)

In a recent report: When LeBron James broke the NBA's all-time scoring record, it was not just a historic moment it became a metaphor for our age. As LeBron pulled up for the record-breaking shot, nearly every spectator had their phone raised, not to remember him, but to capture their own version of the moment according to them!

Things are changing dramatically in this hour of His close return. What will He find? Is it voices of faith expressing His greatness, His glory and eternal future for us or will it be only voices set to see us as the center of our own existence?

That Flesh Creature

Romans 1:18-32 provides us with a compelling history of mankind's efforts to avoid God as the source of their values, and it shows what this has produced. Satan has made strong and persuasive efforts—seemingly doing everything in his power—to diminish the importance of obedience to the Ten Commandments. Mankind's failure to keep these godly standards is responsible for the condition of the world.

Romans 1: 18-32 NKJV  18 for the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for god has shown it to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became foolish 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man----and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.

24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.  26 for this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness, full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30 back-biters, hates of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 un-discerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful,  32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same, but also approve of those who practice them.

The first commandment concerns itself with what a person worships. Worship is the devoted service one gives to what one regards above all, and what one regards above all is that person's God. The first commandment says what we are to worship, the Creator God. Nothing else is to be given that kind of devotion.

1.       The people Paul is speaking of turned their attention from the Creator and to the created. So, it is possible to worship the wrong thing. In Colossians 3:5 Paul writes that covetousness is idolatry too, clearly meaning that our devotion can be given to things other than the true God.

2.       A common argument in the world that "all religions are good," that is, none of them teach you bad things. But, as these verses prove, that simply is not true.

The undermining of their importance began with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. Satan's persuasions were so enticing that they submitted to his values despite having seen God literally eye to eye! Eve followed the dictates of the enemy Satan.

In God's judgment that does not let us off the hook ever. Yet, mankind cannot plead complete ignorance of God because He is revealed by His handiwork. Since men will not seek out and obey the true God on their own, the best they can do in regard to a standard of values is their own experience, and that has produced this perverted and violent world. That is the story we find here of idolatry in Romans 1.

When looking at children today, or even those nearing college, they worship their cell phone. In the day of my youth you had to answer a landline phone in your living room or kitchen area.

Here it is Paul who seeks to demonstrates that though all men are sinful; even though God does not punish but forgives guilty sinners, still God is perfectly righteous and  by His grace has forgiven us.

In 1 John 2:15-17 we see the life of righteousness on display. It is also the test of Knowing Him in their spiritual state: 1 John 2:15-17      NKJV……. 15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

The word translated "world" is cosmos in Greek. John uses it six times in three short verses, emphasizing its importance to us. It literally means "an orderly arrangement." In other words, it means "a system." The apostle sets to reveal that one’s  environment and lifestyle system into which we were born has a source. In that mixed values within our environment, we see a confused mix of good and evil, specifically designed to entrap us in a spiral tending toward that of death.

Will that cell phone give you any order? It will not when you answer it while driving down the road. We saw a card drive off a completely good highway on a curve to crash at the bottom of the ravine and survive. Amazying indeed and they survived their plummet to the earth!

In our understanding, we find that Cosmos identifies the system on earth established apart from the Creator God. We know this system's source is Satan, and it will never produce life. The problem for us is that this system is quite appealing to human nature, and it is continuously exerting pressure on us to return to it. Yet, if we love the world, it precludes love for the Father. The Father is then pushed to the background of our lives. So we should have an exertion toward seeking the Father, finding Jesus, knowing our salvation and find the peace of the Lord.

John points out that love for the world is essentially meaningless because the world is passing away. If it and its values pass away, what will a person following that system have to show for his life?

That includes all its songs, and dance steps. I am in awe how some can to that River Dance to stay in step and yet does that worship God?

Certain words for this system on earth is contained in “flesh”, “eyes”, and “pride”.

Flesh indicates a self-oriented outlook that pursues its own ends independent of God, a focus that clearly produces idolatry. And flesh will stink. It is corrupt and dying. Yet, we are to live spiritually and finding God in His wisdom to direct us forward in this life.  Yet, we have eyes indeed. And in that everything seen by sight will draw us, and our attention to the human attraction of covetousness which is idolatry is dangerous!

Pride indicates a pretentious hypocrisy that glories in self, possessions, and accomplishments. Ever met someone who glories in those things? For these people will focus their devotion on themselves!

So, to whom or what are we loyal to?

2 Corinthians 4:3-5 identifies the source of the spiritual beliefs and values of everybody in the world prior to his calling:  But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

2 Corinthians 4:3-5 but with me it is a very small thing that I should be judge by you or by a human court. In fact, I do not even judge myself. 4 for I know of nothing against myself yet I am not justified by this; but He who judges me is the Lord. 5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one’s praise will come from God.

Paul saw a bloated group with pride. In humbling them without rejecting them he gives nothing more nor nothing less than the whole counsel of God. A steward was in full charge of a household and accountable only to the owner, who alone could render final decisions. Faithful the steward was to be dispensing what was entrusted to him.

Paul was accountable to God. It was of little concern to him that he was judge by the Corinthians. Any sin scarred person must be set aside. They cannot in a perfect sense the motives of others. It is only God Who knows all of the facts and can render that perfect and righteous judgment!

Our Lord’s words, which were spoken over two thousand years ago, are as follows:  At that time, Jesus spoke to the crowds and to His disciples, saying, “The Scribes and the Pharisees have sat on the chair of Moses. All things, therefore, that they command you observe and do. But do not act accordingly to their works; for they talk but do nothing. And they bind together heavy and oppressive burdens, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but not with one finger of their own do they choose to move them. In fact, all their works they do in order to be seen by men; for they widen their phylacteries, and enlarge their tassels, and love the first places at suppers and the front seats at the synagogues, and greetings in the market place, and to be called by men ‘Rabbi.’”

Even Jesus saw those who chose to put themselves in Moses seat. Moses the man called by God who was humble before Him. Moses was chosen to lead the Hebrew nation out of Egypt. From his earliest years, the Pharaoh wanted him dead. But put him in a reed basket, and later he was fished out by Pharaoh’s daughter. She sought care for him unknowingly by his own mother. For his education, he most likely had the finest tutors in that region.

Instructed in astronomy, chemistry, mathematics, engineering, music, and art nevertheless, the overall effect of what he learned filled him with knowledge and understanding that would stand him in good stead later. His true family remained near him. During his 35 years in the palace, Moses never really lost contact with the people of Israel and with his real family, even though Jochebed & Amram turned him over to Pharaoh's daughter. He would, then, have had access to the language, history, & expectations of Israel. His mind, to be used later by God, was being formed by being filled with knowledge.

In reading the book of Acts, it is Stephen that says that he was "mighty in words and deeds." He became a statesman, representing Egypt to foreign peoples and leaders. Ancient historians say that he was a soldier. The years passed. But despite being prepared for high office in Egypt, the memories of his early childhood and his real parents—the knowledge that they were slaves and that his kinsmen were groaning in the brickyards—never left him. His mind was touched by God. In being formed to know God and trust. Let us not forget, flesh stinks, but that with God we will know truth. We will know His truth and His dealing with us is a long walk in that conversion. It is a long walk from our puberty, but it is worth knowing God and His faithfulness to keep our hand in the shadow of death!

Heard of this report: a pastor's wife had a young teen still under their roof at home. They were those who served the Lord and did it in ways that seemed hard to this youth! Still when work was to be done at the grounds of the church, a wife of the pastor told her son to get the leaf blower and blow the leaves out of the area around the building. She went in to get something she had forgotten, came back and found the leaves half moved and the area looked more messy than before. She took the blower from his hands and moved the leaves back around the building. Then she handed the blower to him and told him to have a spirit of excellence and move them out of their place against the building.

This time he took more effort, and used exertion to move those leaves so that they would not be seen again. Like Moses, we can access to all kinds of language and the opportunity to know math and excel in it. We can have favor with all kinds of leaders as Moses did with Egypt still he had to know God and His strength, had to know His truth to have His wisdom in dealing with life. Laziness is laziness, and it qualifies you as "the lazy"! To be lazy in heart, is one is suited to where they take and give nothing back!

As a pre-teen, our family was involved in an Episcopal Church before we moved to another area for my freshman year. In that city we were born, my sister and I had active service with our mother in that church. Where there was not a lot of things for children to do nor pre-teens and not being a boy, we could serve in setting up the flowers and cleaning the table tops. Some moving of the candle holders and such was involved and we saw it as a fun thing to do for others attending that church. We moved what needed to be moved. We placed the fresh flowers and put things away that were out of place. We had an example in our mother as serving God and others!

Today, we see people wanting to be "the served" when Jesus already came to serve. And He delivers His whole counsel in a little over three years. Those who would go forward, would be those who saw Jesus daily. They heard His words of truth. They found how to serve Him while He walked with them in Israel. So too. today we are to live as well as our children, to impart His truth, be those faithful in prayer, to be pure of heart, and send our children out to serve others in giving the Gospel truth.Yes, we are to be faithful in prayer and thanking God for His blessings on their efforts and ours and that we will see them not departing from Him or His truth.

As I left home one day, and our daughter left home one day, so too our grandchild will leave home. As we remind the Lord God of his faithfulness to us and His covenant. He will not alter the thing that is gone out of His lips: Psalm 89:33-34

33 Nevertheless My lovingkindness i will not utterly take from him, nor allow My faithfulness to fail. 34 My covenant i will not break nor alter the word thtat has gone out of My lips.

The Lord has sworn by His holiness and He will not lie to us! Amen and Amen! we have a blood covenant. He died that we would live for Him! That flesh creature should not exist in us for the word of God is to be active in our lives, where the dead comes to life, and we are not weak but strengthened in the anointing anchored in the love of God devoted to what He has done. We stand grateful  not disappointed, but looking to the horizon of the new mercies in God each morning. For in Him, Great is His faithfulness. Love will fill ever venture in God. Paul wrote in 2 Thessalonians 1-3 that Paul was giving thanks that those in the church would be growing in Faith toward God. he also noted of an abundance of love for others when each of them had some kind of suffering or persecution. They would endure. We must have that ever deepening relationship with Jesus so that when we face opposition, we will stand. May His word run swiftly in us and be glorified in our lives. Amen and Amen.
