Signs and Symptoms of Depression

What are the signs and symptoms of depression? The water cures view point include....” Depression  can be like the dying grass that lacks water”. If you have ever gone on trip for a few weeks and come back, you most likely will find the brown lawn and knowing that yard is deplete of water. But not an abundance of watering will promote the lawn back to its green state of health. In truth our bodies need water, too! Even our brain is 85 percent water. So we need water to survive. We need fresh water to maintain healthy function of all of our nine trillion brain cells. Many years my husband and I drank large amounts of water. But during the enthronement of COVID-19 by some officials, we found that too much water can cause water poisoning.

I had continue to look at the signs and symptoms of depression. And in that continued search, I found out what would alleviate depression, I heard a godly medical teacher and doctor speaking and teaching that depression can be helped by taking simple things like Co Q10.

Now, I am not a doctor and I do not play one on television, but I know some things about how my body works and what makes it wake up to live another day with energy and a smile on my face.  I also know that I have to note how body is responding to that new day. One thing seen and exercised to do is :To simple take count of what you place in your body can make you realize what is junk and what is actually useful.

Now this depression is not the poor, poor pitiful me, but that when all was being seen and done in the Lord and for the Lord and then all becomes the quiet. No one seems to notice you, or ask for prayer. The scene turns from the those who are the joyful to the those who have sand in their shoes and dirt on their tongues. Lord, are YOU still there? Lord, I know we continue in this. I know what the unknown author senses in their spirit man when they write for YOU. I know the one everyone calls anonymous for they neither remember names nor what was spoken. And what was given: WAS A WARNING!

Was thinking about the two on walked on the road to Emmaus. Everything displayed, people being healed, they believed Jesus to take the throne as king over Israel, but Jesus died. He died for those who believe in Him! For each of us have had that moment, when everything appears to fall apart and no one is found to pick up the pieces. And yet what pieces, we continue in the Lord. He makes all things new!

Lord, I do not want to be like those on the road to Emmaus, who stood still with their faces downcast when You asked, “What are discussing together as you walk along?” they responded, “We had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel.” (Luke 24:17, 21) certainly they did not understand that the cross had to come before the kingdom. How foolish they were! The very death they had responded to with hopelessness represented the greatest hope of all time! God, I ask for forgiveness for every single time I have blamed my hopelessness on You. You are the God of hope. You are the Blessed Hope, Himself!

Jesus broke the bread and blessed it and He disappeared. He who walked with them, who asked them questions and sat with them for bread disappeared. Oh that spiritual eyes would be open to the Scriptures Jesus spoke about to the two who were held in a depressive state.

How can we identify with others going through situations we’ve never encountered face-to-face? Walk trenches we’ve never been pushed into? Because based on the way Jesus lived his life, that’s what I believe He’s asking us to do as Christians. To put away sympathy and embrace empathy. That’s where true comfort lies.

I can sympathize with someone who has lost a parent. I cannot sympathize with some who has lost a child. Although I know they are in a state of insurmountable pain, a heartache from the center of their being, but still I would have no words to give them. A hug I could give, a tissue for the eyes, but to open my mouth would bring a “mess” when just a polite appearing is enough to them for that moment. Pieces of their lives scattered, from the bedroom of a child to the room made in a cemetery.

Philippians 2:5-8 – Jesus Christ, who being in the very nature of God did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage.  Rather he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant (left his home), being made in human likeness.  And being found as a man, humbled himself even further by becoming obedient to death, even death on a cross.

Father God had this empathy. Father God knew the heartache of losing His Son to the hands of wicked men!

Jesus is empathy’s perfect example. He didn’t come to earth to save us as God, detached and gazing down in sympathy and pity. He came as man, born into the trenches, to live and suffer as a human. His empathy makes Him the perfect sacrifice. The perfect bridge between God and us.

Hebrews 4:15  “For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin”

Jesus did not hide in a trench. Did not run to another place to hide out in a basement, but He moved in power: Initiated grace to the least of them, Served those who dishonored Him the most, His beliefs were not fables or fickle, His opinion was not swayed: He was on His mission for Salvation who kept the future focus, faith and determination and He acted on complete conviction!

To get out of the depressive state one has to move their eyes forward and toward reaching others either by the word of God or prayer for them. It is for spiritual eyes to be open, to see and hear the way to freedom from God’s word.

Hope does not disappoint me, because YOU, God, have poured out Your love into my heart by the Holy Spirit, whom You have given me. (Romans 5:5)

Recently a pastor on the East Coast had sent us a scripture. He has never met us but we have corresponded by his teachings on a “God channel”. Touched by his heart for people, he had prayed to reach the “stranger”. And so we too have praying that prayer nightly going on three months. And it was last week he sent us this passage from Psalm 142. We read it and then knew God was speaking to us:  But when we give the whole of Psalm 142 we are praying for relief from prosecutors. I cry out to the LORD with my voice; with my voice to the LORD I make my supplication. 2 I pour out my complaint before Him; I declare before Him my trouble. 3 When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then You knew my path. In the way in which I walk they have secretly set a snare for me.  4 Look on my right and see, for there is no one who acknowledges me; Refuge has failed me; no one cares for my soul. 5 I cried out to You, O LORD. I said, “You are my refuge. My portion in the land of the living. 6 Attend to my cry, for I am brought very low; deliver me from my persecutors, for they are stronger than I. 7 Bring my soul out of prison. That I may praise Your name; the righteous shall surround me, for You shall deal bountifully with me.”

Persecutors are those who once stood with you, but now turn their backs. Persecutors can speak evil against you now because of what your beliefs are in the Lord. Persecutors will even change the numbers of views on your teachings of the Gospel to make it look like you fail. But we did not continue to look a numbers: We forgave them!

And we forgave them and we forgave them. Yes, this passage came to us and then our daughter told me of this dream she had two weeks ago. She told how the Lord had given me a degree for healing, but it was from His word and how it would be used. She also gave reference to a counter installed on this mount and the numbers starting moving at a fast rate. The Lord was showing that our prayers were answered. We had been praying for the "Stranger" and God was revealing they were coming to hear the word of God through what He allows us to send it out for His glory and to His praise!

For the Holy Spirit has come as given in Acts 2:4. Those present within that prayer time were filled with Holy Spirit and they spoke in languages they had never spoken before. Holy Spirit is the "breath" the air we breathe. God who breathed into Adam is the same God who raised Jesus from the dead. He breathes into us and activates us to speak His words. Our hearts resident is He Who is written about throughout the entire bible and not just the beginning with His birth in Bethlehem.

Of the several appearances of Jesus after His resurrection, women found Him and they saw Him. Mary told of her seeing Him in the garden: John 20:11-18 NKJV 11 but Mary stood outside by the tomb weeping and as she wept she stooped down and looked into the tomb. 12 And she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and the other at the fee, where the body of Jesus had lain. 13 then they said to her, "Woman, why are weeping?" She said to them, "Because they have taken away my Lord and I do not know where they have laid Him." 14 Now when she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, and did not know that it was Jesus. 15 Jesus said to her, "Woman why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?" She, supposing Him to be the gardener, said to Him, "Sir, if you have carried Him away, tell me where You have laid Him and I will take Him away." 16 Jesus said to her, "Mary!" She turned and said, "Rabboni!" (which is to say, Teacher). 17 Jesus said to her, "Do not cling to Me for I have not yet ascended to My Father but go to My brethren and say to them, "I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God." 18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, that he had spoken these things to her.

Several appearances of Jesus then ensue. Meeting with Jesus, their response is one of wonder and joyful worship!

We have seen that of Luke 24 where Jesus taught the two disciples. Matthew 28:9-10 And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, “Rejoice”! So they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him. 10 then Jesus said to them, “do not be afraid, Go and tell My brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see Me.”

Instruction was given: “Go and tell My brethren to go to Galilee and there they will see Me.” Yes, instruction is important to us. And when are active in receiving the Lord’s instruction we see Him! For instruction is seeing Him and hearing to obey: Marks 16:17 And these signs will follow those who believe: “In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues, 18 “they will take up serpents, and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover.”

And if you have seen the teaching we did on Mark 16 both in Life Giving Wells and Voice of Prayer, this verse 18 taking up serpents is a person who is so set against those of God’s people, so set against the people who have the Lord enthroned on their hearts, but the serpent wants revenge on the believer!

Knowing Christ Jesus, Knowing His name and Who He is, is living life to the full! It is not the name of a media, nor show nor is living by the name of some billionaire nor that of a city but by the name of Jesus, for He is living and active. He is the Word made flesh to dwell with us. And the Holy Spirit is on the scene and ready to breathe that life into you and me. Daily we are to speak, not that of dead men’s words but those that are words of life about Jesus and the Holy Spirit Who has come! Purpose was before them! And purpose is before us and we must allow the Holy Spirit His way in our lives.

I always heard that to have depression or that depressive state is having the Lord absent from us. We must maintain that walk or that run. Though Jesus left the disciples He appeared in His glory! Though they saw Him die on the cross, dying at the hands of government, of religious leaders and even those of Roman soldiers, He rose from the dead. We can see all that God has purposed for us fulfilled when we continue to speak His name, declare His truths and expect His return. He is for us and we know this because He came to touch man, to give that hug, to help them rise from a sickened condition and see their heart smile when He touched them by that grace and by power of the Holy Spirit!

Depression has no place in me nor in you. People may hear something we wrote but others call out it was by anonymous. Others might hear of you giving a speech or even a teaching and call you the unknown author. But we are not hidden nor are we invisible. The Lord knows those who are His. He knows the way in which we walk for He ordered our steps in Him. Today, you and I drink our daily intake of water, we take in the adequate food for strength and energy and we provide fuel to our heart from God’s word. Jesus died and He rose again, and He did it when all Israel was in turmoil. He rose even though Rome ruled. He rose according to God and His plan. Today, we too, rise for God's plan. No depressive state, no name can rule us that is of man, for we will not be ruled by some virus, nor some man blind to God! For it is God who is to be glorified for He knows our frame, He knows we are dust and still He loves best. We are signs and wonders to a decaying world, and I will not quit, this is the finest hour for the Lord's glory!

A Funky Place

Salvation is not in a trophy!
Proverbs 4:19 the way of the wicked is like darkness; they do not know what makes them stumble.
This word stumble has the meaning to totter by decay!
When we are led by the world we get into some very complicated things that lead to death. For the man or woman who chooses their own way can find hardship, and of course, death!

Our Father’s word teaches us that those who are in the flesh cannot please God found in Romans 8:8. Those who walk in their own ways of the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life find the paths of the destroyer.
Psalm 17:4 concerning the works of men, by the word of Your lips, I have kept away from the paths of the destroyer.
So ultimately being away from God and His word, is being led away from life, truth and eternity with Him!

John told us in 1 John 2:16 for all that is in the world---the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life---is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away; and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

There has been evil operating in this world since Eve was deceived in the Garden of Eden. And many, many people still fall to the schemes of the devil, although he has no new material to try out on any one person!  No he just listens to those times when covetousness speaking may be heard from our mouths and hearts!  He pays attention to those times we whine and complain and then he pulls out the same old trip-up he used some years ago.

God demonstrated His love toward us that we might live for Him and have life!
Romans 5:8-10  NKJV 8 But demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. 10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

God initiated that relationship with us. AND He made it possible, paving the way so that we can have fellowship with Him. In this relationship, He made possible through the gift of His Son, those things He desires to develop such as trust in us. So by His love, He gave us His best gift. In this we respond by faith: that trust in God who has purpose for us that is for good and not evil. Without that gift, without that expression of His love, the relationship never would have begun. So without faith there is no love of God present… and it ends up being about Me, Me and Me…!!!

We know God continued the Message of His love by sending His prophets. He kept the relationship alive by being faithful to see those created in His image would hear truth and live by it.
The last time He sent a Prophet, the Prophet was also the Son of God who was the example of:  Obedience, loyalty, & devotion to Him the Father…… By His Son Jesus, He extended His hand forever beckoning us to come back to the relationship. This is so clearly seen in the way God dealt with Israel in the Old Testament. And from old testaments teachings, we find the Israelites were reminded when they were brought out of Egypt, when they were brought out of slavery to serve the living God.
Luke 1:70-75 NKJV  70 As He spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets, Who have been since the world began, 71 that we should be saved from our enemies & from the hand of all who hate us, 72 to perform the mercy promised to our fathers & to remember His holy covenant, 73 the oath which he swore to our father Abraham: 74 to grant us that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies, might serve Him without fear, 75 in Holiness & Righteousness before Him all the days of our life.

While writing this, I was reminded of watching the video of Matthew, that story of Jesus in His ministry. And the young man who played the role of Jesus always makes me think of how Jesus is waving to us, still walking but beckoning us to come to Him and to know Him as He really is. Bruce Marchiano is the man who played that part of the Visual Bible Film series. With the smile he presents while walking and turning using his hands to wave us to come, I am forever thinking of Jesus' compassion for us. He died for us that we might have life through Him.

But rejection can appear when man becomes obsessed with the power of self and self worship. It can appear in those who really live on the edge of danger in life: like bull-riders, horse-tamers, high-wire walkers, Wall Street moguls, or even those with both feet on the ground as the mother with several children, the one who sings like a sweet nightingale, the basketball player who scores more points than any other player on the team. Yes, these can start to worship themselves and will not voluntarily submit themselves to God's rules or laws.

The ‘terrible’ thing about this is that many die early and usually is the result of suicide. We have known some people who have died in the last 15 years due to that suicide 'thing'. Both were friends, one of mine from my early years and high school and another, a young man we met at church.
Was that God’s plan for them? Certainly not, but the devil had his schemes and anything outside of God and His word of truth lies under the rule of the devil.

Sometimes people get caught up in the applause, the accolades, that cheer of the crowd, the cheer of the grateful husband who works all hours to make a living for the wife and children, or the cheer of the cowboy star who lives his latter years remembering his former glory days in the saddle as a star.

We are reminded in 1 Corinthians 15:33  Do not be deceived: "Evil company corrupts good habits" . Amplified Bible: 33 do not be deceived & misled! Evil companionship's (communion, association’s ) corrupt & deprave good manners & morals & character.

If our mind is clutter with yesterday, when do we think about God and His goodness? If our mind is in the gutter, we cannot live a virtuous life. If we have received Jesus as Lord of our lives, there is hope in seeing that part of our hearts healed in His name. As Christians, we can never escape all the negative influences of sin around us, such as that which is spoken over the news by fake media, or the negative of that which assaults another by intruding on the personal space of another like men against women in serious acts by sexually immoral people of the world.

Paul said this in one epistle or letter he wrote to the church at Corinth in 1 Corinthians 5:9-10 I wrote to you in my epistle not to keep company with sexually immoral people. 10 yet I certainly did not mean with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the covetous or extortioners or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world.
Now what Paul wrote was that we were not to have associations with those known as a Christian who have the lifestyle as sexual immorality. Yes, immoral people can claim to be Christians! For a follower of Jesus will not openly persist in sin & will not heed the corrective counsel….Jesus regards this in  Matthew 5:27-30). Adultery in the heart is wrong and a rigid moral self-denial should be in place.

God our Father sent us a way out of the world, but it is to live for HIM through our life here on this earth. He sent Jesus our Savior.  God told us that He redeems our souls when we put our trust in Him according to what is written in Psalm 34:22 The LORD redeems the soul of His servants, and none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.

If your walk through this life has taken you in to the business arena, the life of the mother who is the nurturer, the doctor, the debater, the guidance counselor and meal maker, the cowboy who knows horses and wild rides, the basketball player who knows the court and players better than he knows God, then we can come under a funky thought like: not good enough, aging quickly, my body is out of condition and strength, will my kids remember me when I am older!  It is then our thoughts are not good thoughts, and a person can fall into a pit where the controlling things like depression, anger, anxiety, jealousy, hopelessness, fear or even suicide can become a part of your demeanor.  How does one come out of that 'funky thing'?
Funk has the meaning of being panicky! Also means to be overcome by great fear!

Suicide by ones own hand will end like Judas'. He hung himself when he had become a traitor to Jesus. For thirty pieces of silver he betrayed the Lord of glory. God is love and He loves all and will we receive His love or choose Me, Me and Me?
When someone's identity has been in themselves, they cannot possibly continue in that for long. I cannot have my identity in my husband. I must have an identity as Shelley, but must also be in Jesus who is life to me! My identity is within that which Jesus died to give me. But someone who has their identity in their children can suffer many bouts of anxiety, empty nest syndrome and even abandonment. The one who receives accolades from their sport ventures will find those trophy's cannot give back any love or remembrance of the winning moment when that point came to take that coveted gleaming silver cup!
Interesting that some of the games that people play all have the winning cup and I wonder how many end up drinking from the cup that provides nothing at the end.

Please take this seriously that any anxiety, any depression, fear or suicide is not of God. These are things the enemy can use against a man or woman made in the image of God. Please hear the voice of the Good Shepherd today and turn to Him who can deliver you from these terrible afflictions. Holy Spirit can guide you through the healing process. Find your identity in Him and not in other people or things.

Today, we pray for you to hear, receive and know the Father’s love for your 'life' right now. We pray in Jesus’ name that you are delivered from controlling emotions (Psalm 40:17)

We also pray for you to be healed and restored to what the Father’s purpose for your life is. We speak words of life over you right now and believe you to be free to share your deepest feelings with those qualified to help.  We pray for you to have the gift of laughter and the ability to find humor in even serious situations.
May you take your eyes off the circumstances that cause you dread or be in terror and be reminded that God sent the Son of His love for you to have salvation and that ‘relationship ‘with HIM! We pray you to have patience to possess your soul and the ability to take charge of it. (Luke 21:19)
Father, refresh your child now in the mighty name of Jesus. Refresh him with Your Holy Spirit and set him free today from any negative emotions that would cause him harm. We believe the best for Your child who YOU made for Your glory. May they run and prosper in Your name. Amen.

Quality without the Zika virus

Dragonflies
I was thinking of the word "quality" today. Now decades ago, quality meant something made to last. It was made to last long, have a look of style without regrets in it! I remember this ad from a television division that the quality would go in before the name would go on.....that is into the future!
Had a flashback to the earlier day and how anything our family bought lasted for years. My mother had no automatic dishwasher other than my sister and myself.  One of us would wash and the other would dry. Of course the one drying had some extra opportunity to complain about the dishwasher. I like drying myself, but I chose to rinse again if need be. But anyone who dried them, had to put them away and that meant extra work indeed! So if you liked drying and complaining, you paid back in extra work.
Heard this clip of a mid-afternoon show coming on (yesterday)...it was during the news break at noon. I actually like One America News because they give accurate news and not the garbage the regular media seem to think I want to hear. NO thank you!
From a local station, a preview of a coming attraction showed this young woman of about twenty and she did not think her dad was giving her enough money to live on weekly. Okay I am catching up, now what ....is she receiving an allowance or what? Then the host of the show shouted out a thousand dollars a week. I stopped from exiting the room. A thousand dollars a week? And the young woman starts to cry, stands up like in a fit of hurt and demands more money, because....and hear this....she does not want to work at a job because " it is so hard"!

I had no words. Really I still have no words for this thing I heard and they televised yesterday. I figure if you are in good health, no broken bones and have a brain, you can work at a job. Most people I know have jobs, have worked at a job or are about to get a new job! How exciting is that to do something, be creative in the person God created each of us to be, right?

So with quality, washing dishes, and a thousand a week is not enough.....something is out of whack somewhere! I remember my dad saying a job was an advantage to many people. He grew up in the time of the great depression and many people had no jobs to go to or make money for their families.
In all this, I think what an advantage we have in God when He can show us the right place to work to make the finances we require, we can find ways to make washing dishes fun when you really dislike the dishwasher to run. (people say the run quiet today, I disagree!)
But by prayer each day we can touch the face of God and speak of the desires in the new job, maybe a new dishwasher or even pray for someone else's need.
Making demands today seems to be the rule of the day. People making demands on that which they either know nothing of or they know all too well!
BUT what about the demand for quality to go in us before we go any further?

Quality: the standard of a thing measured; to the degree of excellence: do you work toward a better marriage, do you work in knowing your kids better
Working order: working according to the nature and the purpose of a machine or of a person…OF A person will be one….of favorable character with tendency/ praiseworthy character Merriam Webster Dictionary
That Strength is Living conditions that regards one alive with life blood, as to  necessity for food, shelter, clothing   and security..….. also to having regard for actual life that which is valid…., has the meaning of the legitimate living by force…that is sound and reliable.

Do people see us as being sound, reliable, a legitimate one who lives with ability, a quality of excellence that has a praiseworthy character?
Within this code of conduct, it was our God who gave us true happiness and well being through that which is truth in His instruction.

In a nation that was founded on God, the initial word at the very beginning was for people to read and write.
In all the years I went to school and graduated from high school, the point was to be educated to read and write and to work at some job. It was to prepare for " the future"! Yesterday my husband and I were appalled to hear that in city of Detroit Michigan that only a 5 percent number of those graduating high school have the ability to read and write their own name. In the city of Baltimore Maryland, it was a little more at 11 percent of those graduating high school could read and write their name. Why is that leaders are allowing the young people to be "dumbing down" when educated should be the optimum word for the day of their youth to their graduation year. They say many are not going to college because of money, but I wonder how many are not going to college because they cannot read or write. I know this is going on in some cities for we heard it done last year in a school system in Oregon.

Quality! If measured to the excellence scale where will most find themselves whether the business owner, the college professor or the doctor at some hospital? I certainly want someone qualified to operate if that is necessary for life, but if they cannot read or write then they will have no credentials to do that "thing". How sad for so many who lack an education they really deserved.

While at home, we did what we were asked and for an allowance, I do not remember one. We helped out with chores and feeding the livestock, and we got to see a movie once and awhile, but I do not remembering feeling that I missed anything from the time. I loved being with my parents, although I did not feel that I knew that all that well, but they saw that they had a job, and they saw we were fed and clothed with education in mind for our futures!

No, in fondness I think of the times of washing dishes with my sister, I think of the conversations we had around the table in the kitchen and how much laughter spilled into the yard for many to hear in our neighborhood. We never seemed to be without, but I remember my mother telling me at times not to ask for anything.
BUT there was generally two things I always asked for: one was pens to write my school work and the other was "ruled paper" to write the homework on to deliver it to the teacher the next day.
Yes in fondness, I think of my parents who decided to put some quality in their children and into their family. I pray that will happen in these United States of this country we call America. There should be no dumbing down for our youth, for they will lead someday. Hopefully it will not be in a welfare line, the food line or even any kind of hand out line, but they receive an education that will help them grow in life to become those responsible citizens this country needs!

Let's be responsible adults. We are to know the authority that has been given us here on earth in our salvation. Our authority that came through Jesus is to rule by the word of God, stand firm believing God's instruction to us and then be fully committed to seeing His will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Only that which is allowed as holy is that which is approved by God. It is not by manipulating others to get something or even to get something done.
If this lack of quality in lives continues and famine appears what will be the outcome? The headline may carry news of famine, disease or Zika virus. But as a child of God I check out dried food reserves, I pray for clouds of dragonflies to come to this region of Washington and eat up those mosquitoes with Zika virus and I expect God to show us the next instruction for all our days on this earth.
If you wash a dish, or dry a dish, if you require extra money every week for living expenses the best place to start is with God. And pray for the youth of your community that they will be raised in the admonition of the Lord, be raised to be excited about going to school, to learn to read and write and to become the citizens God intended for them to become. We are to remember God is faithful and those who call on Him in spirit and truth, He will answer as we abide in His family, He will move prosperity to our home, life into our lives and continue to experience His goodness all the days of our lives in that quality of excellence! Amen.

Feeding on Ashes or God's Word

Psalm 102:8-11
8 My enemies reproach me all day long,
Those who deride me swear an oath against me.
9 For I have eaten ashes like bread,
And mingled my drink with weeping,
10 Because of Your indignation and Your wrath;
For You have lifted me up and cast me away.
11 My days are like a shadow that lengthens,
And I wither away like grass.  NKJV

Sitting in grief, one finds themselves eating on ashes. Many people move into a depression and it is hard for them to come out. But in those times we must remember God is truth and the devil is the liar.
The devil was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is not truth found in him. And he certainly speaks his native language. (John 8:44)
We must discern when the devil is out to harm.
We are to be sanctified by the truth. God's Word is truth. (John 17:17)

We should acknowledge when we have fed on ashes. Turning to God's Word will always lead us into life and health. Holding onto anything of which is a security to us is a lie. Believing in things which are not true, as to in our own selves is a delusion. Our freedom from self is in Jesus. WE are to be changed into His image.

Colossians 3:9-10..........NIV
9 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.

Situations can happen. People can pass away. People can hurt us and people can just do the unusual that can affect us in some harmful way, but we are not to live in the hurt, not in the pain of loss or look upon those situations that cause grief as anything to fear or doubt. Change will always come to our lives, but we must be willing to keep moving and not stop.
Submitting to God and His authority means all else falls beneath, is carried in the debris pile, swept away by winds that caused the diversity and never to be seen.
Scripture tells us by the prophet in Micah that our sins were cast into the depths of the sea.

Micah 7:18-20
18 Who is a God like You,
Pardoning iniquity
And passing over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage?
He does not retain His anger forever,
Because He delights in mercy.
19 He will again have compassion on us,
And will subdue our iniquities.
You will cast all our sins
Into the depths of the sea.
20 You will give truth to Jacob
And mercy to Abraham,
Which You have sworn to our fathers
From days of old.   NKJV

Truth was given to Jacob, and mercy to Abraham.
Our sins were subdued ............and in the blood of Jesus we are the redeemed. The redeemed act joyful. They are the submitted to God and His authority and not to depression or anything else the devil might throw up in your face.
Today submit your dreams to Him as you are submitted to HIM in the authority of His Word. I ask the Lord God to give you God-ordained goals showing you how to invest in your future. I also pray that you who would read this  that you would also be active in service to the Lord all the days of your life.
Today depression leaves your life. Rise and see your purpose that God has for you. May you be anchored there by the Holy Spirit who is steadfast and true. Be planted in the Lord and be fresh and flourishing and bearing fruit into old age.
We believe for your transition into His grace of peace and love. We believe for your valleys and high mountains to be  smoothed out.  We believe for level paths for your feet as you walk with HIM.

YOUR future is in Him.

The STAR came out of Jacob. Num 24:17
17 "I see Him, but not now;
I behold Him, but not near;
a Star shall come out of Jacob;
a Scepter shall rise out of Israel,
And batter the brow of Moab,
And destroy all the sons of tumult.  NKJV

God's mercy to us is new every morning.

Lamentations 3:22-24
22 Through the LORD's mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
24 "The LORD is my portion," says my soul,
"Therefore I hope in Him!"  NKJV

Please don't drink to sadness today. God is smiling on you. He desires to get down and visit with you one to one. Tell Him how you treasure Him and I am certain He will draw you into the comfort of His loving arms and tell you, your best is yet to be. Come out from beneath the covers of despair. Jesus is Lord, A new day is coming and it will be in the brightness of His glory. Amen.

Let's meditate on Jesus who gave us beauty for ashes. In Him we live, In Him we abide in the beauty of His life.

Isaiah 61:2-3....to comfort all who mourn,
3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion--
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the LORD
for the display of his splendor. NIV

The Message Bible states it this way:
God sent Isaiah to declare the message:
to comfort all who mourn, to care for the needs of all who mourn in Zion. to give them bouquets of roses instead of ashes, Messages of joy instead of news of doom. A praising heart instead of a languid spirit. Rename them "Oaks of Righteousness" planted by God to display his glory.

Staying in Jesus, abiding in His peace and love, we stay away from anything that would perish. Leaving the world behind, we leave behind that which is worthless, and we seek that which is priceless.
For He is the pearl of great price.
Woven into the tapestry of love, in touch with everything there is to know of God. Then we  will have minds confident and at rest, focused on Christ, God's great mystery. All the richest treasures of wisdom and knowledge are embedded in that mystery and nowhere else. And we have been shown the mystery! (Message Bible:Colossians 2)

Continue to pursue things with the life Christ gave us. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Leave the idols behind. don't shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, be alert to what is going on around Christ. that is where the action is. See things from His perspective. Your old life is dead, Your new life, which is your real life----even though invisible to spectators----is with Christ in God. He is your life. When Christ (your real life, remember) shows up again on this earth, you'll show up too----the real you, the glorious you. Meanwhile, be content with obscurity,  like Christ. ( Message Bible: Colossians 3)

Now commanded to live in peace, we live in accordance with those around us. You might have fed on ashes but today you feed on His Word that is life and peace. Wholly committed we move into a life of real living that is fruitful and a benefit to others. Blessed are those who hear and obey this word today. Even better are those who actually live to practice this very word. Amen.
