Standing in Line:Order, Order, Order

Do you ever overhear what people talk about while standing in line? If they are right in front of you, you cannot but help hear what is on their mind. Hurry, hurry, hurry!

They are speaking of where they need to be. They speak of the long line and still speak of their new wares they are taking home for their own desires. Now in a store, like a grocery market, food is generally the theme. YOU hear the "I want", with the response, "That is not a vegetable"......and then the conversation ends with a "snort" or something close to it.

Yes, people in lines can be excited about going on the next ride, like at Disneyland, Magic Mountain or what about those lines at the movies? I remember seeing a line clear around the movie theater in a small town in Wyoming when Saturday Night Fever came out. (yes, that was the 70's) And I am not sure why there was such a line. I did not think there was that many young people in the city, ourselves included, but the size of that line made me think, "not all of them are getting in to see the flick"!
Then I remember the times I wanted the 405 ramp and was in the extreme "left land" of the highway. Of course, could I not see the super LONG LINE to my right that started about a mile back? No! Let's see now, if I drive another two miles and exit off, I can cross over and drive back about 5 miles to get back on the highway, but be far enough back to stay in right hand LANE  to exit onto ramp for 405. Okay, no hurry that way or taking the SUPER LONG WAY AROUND! What was I thinking when leaving work?

But there is another line, I am thinking about. It is composed of women of any age who have been mistreated, abused, the beaten, the betrayed, the abandoned and the left for dead. I see a line of women who should be honored for their gift of having a child. I see women who had homes, but have been left to fend for themselves in a world that seeks to lust after youthful things. I think today of women who need a loving hug in friendship, not in how much they can give the other. I see women who are left to their own devices of not having a job, not having a real education but raised a family only to be abused by the spouse and left to live what life they have remaining in loneliness, and despair. What a broken spirit she must have!
Yes there is a line of women who know not their true identity in Christ. Their world is nothing of order, but is seen as sickness, sadness and loss.
They are weighted down with ugliness others have placed on them. But there was "no shame" in the garden.

Genesis 2:24-25
24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. 25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.  NKJV

There was no shame in the garden of Eden. It was not known, for God did not give them shame to know. It was when satan entered the garden that shame appeared.

Genesis 3:9-12
9 Then the LORD God called to Adam and said to him, "Where are you?" 10 So he said, "I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself." 11 And He said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?" 12 Then the man said, "The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate."  NKJV

Proverbs 3:35
35 The wise shall inherit glory,
But shame shall be the legacy of fools.  NKJV

Fools attack others. They come with "their own desires" and take from those who are considered the lesser,yes, the weaker, those with little or no self esteem!  Those who have done this to women will leave a legacy that only fools can leave. For God truly wants those who have been the wounded, the abused, and the abandoned to know He is watching. And He will have His day! HIS JUSTICE WILL ROLL ON LIKE A RIVER!
Amos 5:23-24
23 Away with the noise of your songs!
I will not listen to the music of your harps.
24 But let justice roll on like a river,
righteousness like a never-failing stream!
NIV

We must lift women up to Him, and pray for their security to come in Him. Let's lift those who have no one to walk with them to their final day and their final breath.

Psalm 44:15-16
15 My dishonor is continually before me,
And the shame of my face has covered me,
16 Because of the voice of him who reproaches and reviles,
Because of the enemy and the avenger. NKJV

For women who have this outlook see themselves like the verses speak above. They are the covered in shame. But it is the adversary, the devil who continues to voice the hurt, the pain, the loneliness and tears speaking that no one cares
Women are more than just a body, Women have minds, and they have the ability to bring forth a child when conceived in their wombs. Women are of value. They nurture babies. They bring them forth in love and never leave them to fend for themselves. For most women, they endured to have their child or children AND bring them into a home with much love and care. In that Father, I would ask You to keep them in the bosom of Your love.  Thank You for protecting that woman in her day of deliverance of child and answering her prayers for the baby of her love.

Women of all ages today stand in a line, waiting their turn to be released from that which seems endless. Their plight was begun in the garden of Eden, but it does not mean they have to remain in it. For we truly have a Savior who died for those who would believe in Him. Romans 4:24-25
for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. 25 He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.

Deuteronomy 32:28-35
28 "For they are a nation void of counsel,
Nor is there any understanding in them.
29 Oh, that they were wise, that they understood this,
That they would consider their latter end!
30 How could one chase a thousand,
And two put ten thousand to flight,
Unless their Rock had sold them,
And the LORD had surrendered them?
31 For their rock is not like our Rock,
Even our enemies themselves being judges.
32 For their vine is of the vine of Sodom
And of the fields of Gomorrah;
Their grapes are grapes of gall,
Their clusters are bitter.
33 Their wine is the poison of serpents,
And the cruel venom of cobras.

34'Is this not laid up in store with Me,
Sealed up among My treasures?
35 Vengeance is Mine, and recompense;
Their foot shall slip in due time;
For the day of their calamity is at hand,
And the things to come hasten upon them.'   NKJV

There is a group......a nation...if you will.....of a people (men)..who are the void of counsel. They have no understanding. They see not nor understand truth and the importance of Godly wisdom. Those planted into the world's system and the culture, are established on a rock of "me, myself and I". Their intent is to take and take....speaking much like Proverbs  30:15.........15 "The leech has two daughters.
'Give! Give!' they cry.
Somehow  society dictates women are to be submissive, but they ARE NOT TO BE SUBMISSIVE TO HARANGUE OR ANY KIND OF ABUSIVE SITUATION. The one who bullies another is the individual who are gall as they deal out pain, their demand for their own way, and they inflict with words of venom toward the woman they violently harass. They are the bitter and the cruel in their demeanor. They are hostile and seek evil against women.
But God is the "women's " Advocate, and He will deliver. For those mistreating a woman in any way will find that calamity will come hard upon them.

Many of these are women are those who just want to please. They think if they over extend themselves into some unusual behavior some guy will think more about them and truly care with love for the. But you cannot please the devil. He came to steal, kill and destroy.

Today, I reach out with others who will read this and take it to heart that we must pray for those who are our sisters in the Lord. God is merciful and is much more merciful than human beings.
Today we pray for those in the abusive lifestyle, those who think they need to remove their clothes to be loved, and for those who are left, those in their 50's and 60's after many years of sacrifice, love and service to family members, are now counted among those without hope or any love. We seek to pray for those coming out of the situations to let go of any resentment toward others. May they know the grace of God that sets them free to experience God's love and trust. May they see clearly the abusive behavior, the hatred, strife and rage and any decisive harangue speaking as to any sexual, physical and verbal content.
God has much more for His ladies. For those who love HIM, He never leaves or forsakes. To any of the women found in this kind of human torture, should be looked after by THE children who were given life in early years. Grown children who ignore the abused "mother" look a lot like those who would rather forget their mother than to honor them!   Judgement will come to them, the grown children, if they continue to ignore the environment of bodily harm their mother may be experiencing. And choosing to give no help is not good.  For we are to honor our parents all the days of our lives.

Matthew 15:3-9
3 Jesus replied, "And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition? 4 For God said, 'Honor your father and mother' and 'Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.'  5 But you say that if a man says to his father or mother, 'Whatever help you might otherwise have received from me is a gift devoted to God,' 6 he is not to 'honor his father' with it. Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition. 7 You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you:

8 "'These people honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me.
9 They worship me in vain;
their teachings are but rules taught by men.'" NIV

 For women everywhere, may the God of mercy speak to each in their situation. Lamentations 3:22-24............22 Through the LORD's mercies we are not consumed,   Because His compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
24 "The LORD is my portion," says my soul,
"Therefore I hope in Him!"  NKJV

 For those who were married, let those men come to their senses. May they know that God brought them, he and his wife together in a faithful union. As the wife of his youth, he the husband is to keep covenant. That is, he is to hate divorce. For our God hates divorce and cruel men. May these men control their passions and never divorce their wives for any reason.
Any women who walk in generational curses of this nature are over-comers by the Blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.
Women who are in dire straits must look for truth in God.  Any uncontrollable anger or rage is a curse and should be dealt with as such.

Order, Order, Order come to these who desire to leave the abuse behind. Father be their Gardener. May any vile thing, any cancerous evil be thrown into the garbage never to return to any of their lives.

Father God, in Jesus' name, we pray for women who are the abused and considered less than equals to man. Jesus was sent to bind up the broken-heart and to heal pain. Father You sent Your Word and healed them and delivered them from their destruction. Help them know it is not over. They still have lives to live and bring praise to You God for delivering them. Father, You love unconditionally.  For those growing weary in their day to day existence, may they find joy, peace and love in YOU. May they see truth and light in that which comes from the Father of Lights of whom there is no changing. YOU NEVER CHANGE YOUR MIND! (James 1:17)
Father, we pray that these women who desire the way out of this kind of bondage, would know that any anxiety and fear will neutralize their faith. May these women speak and affirm their faith is in You. May they make definite requests for their needs and cast all care on You for YOU care for them.

Father, Your best for them is found in Your Word. It is to encourage them, build their faith, and regard You as their God. Help them not to be passive about change. Help them to see where change must occur to come out of hurtful bondage.
Lord help them to be always forgiving and show any who may not be doing that. Expose the recesses of souls so they will not be locked up by any unforgiveness. Enable them to love their enemies as You Father have commanded in Your Word.
Today I also pray they would desire to choose You and walk free from the death that unforgiveness brings. Enable them to walk in light and be cleansed from all sin. Thank You for the plans and purposes You hold for their lives. Today You are their Healer, Deliverer, Provider and Redeemer. Comfort them in this day. Show them the way of true worship. Give them words of praise to sing out of their mouths and may a joyful step come back in their walk.

 I thank You that Yo have heard our prayers from heaven and are even now are answering… amen and praise to Your Name HOLY  Lord..........

No Ill Effects!

Acts 28:1-6..........28:1 Once safely on shore, we found out that the island was called Malta. 2 The islanders showed us unusual kindness. They built a fire and welcomed us all because it was raining and cold. 3 Paul gathered a pile of brushwood and, as he put it on the fire, a viper, driven out by the heat, fastened itself on his hand. 4 When the islanders saw the snake hanging from his hand, they said to each other, "This man must be a murderer; for though he escaped from the sea, Justice has not allowed him to live." 5 But Paul shook the snake off into the fire and suffered no ill effects. 6 The people expected him to swell up or suddenly fall dead, but after waiting a long time and seeing nothing unusual happen to him, they changed their minds and said he was a god.   NIV

In reading Acts 27, we see Paul being a prisoner and taken aboard a vessel to sail for Italy. It was called the Adramyttium. It would sail along the coasts of Asia. After a few more days out,they boarded an Alexandrian ship which would sail for Italy.  We find that they, those who piloted the ship seemed to drag their feet in going at the opportune time so as to avoid all the wind. But as the season proved for more winter time weather, the going became difficult for the ship to hold a course. For in verse 9, it represents that some time had passed and must have been well past the time for ships to cross safely to avoid any hurricanes or "northeaster's. They came to Fair Haven's, which was near a town called Lasea. But the harbor was unsuitable to winter in. So it states that the majority decided to sail on, hoping to reach Phoenix and winter there. (the majority of who decided)

Paul tries to warn those over ship and crew about the impending danger, but the centurion who keeps watch over the prisoners, chose not to listen to Paul but listen to the pilot of the ship and the owner of said ship.

Alas, we know God to be with Paul and how important it is to receive some information that would keep one safe, but was not to be so with said crew on this ship! So reading through verse 13-20, we find the "northeaster" presenting a great storm that raged for many days.

With the storm swept seas closing in on this vessel, Paul tells them all.......in verse 21, "Men, you should have taken my advice not to sail from Crete, then you would have spared yourselves this damage and loss."
He now tells them of the angel who came to warn them, that the ship would be lost, but no man's life would be lost. Paul goes on to say what the angel stated, "Do not be afraid, Paul. You must stand trial before Caesar; and God has graciously given you the lives of all who sail with you."
Then Paul adds his words to this, and speaks, "So keep up your courage men, for I (Paul) have faith in God that it will happen just as he (the angel) told me. Nevertheless, we must run aground on some island."

Notice Paul said they would run aground on some island. He did not say where the island was or it's name!
As the fourteenth day was passing and the ship was being driven across the Adriatic Sea, those aboard the ship found that they were nearing land. The concern was that the ship would be dashed against rocks, so some of the sailors were choosing to save themselves and went to let down a lifeboat.
With those pretending to do some drop anchors over the bow, Paul told the centurion and the soldiers, "Unless these men stay with the ship, you cannot be saved. " So the ropes that held the lifeboat were cut and it (the lifeboat)  drifted away from the ship!

With the dawning of the 14th day, Paul urges those to get food. And he tells them that none of them would lose a single hair from his head. (verse 34)
So thanks was given to God for the food and they ate. With all being encouraged and filled with what they needed, the ship was lightened by throwing the rest of the grain and supplies into the sea. There were 276 on board the ship. With the light of day, they could see the beach that was close by. They cut loose anchors, and hoisted the foresail to the wind. The ship struck a sandbar and ran aground.
Although the soldiers planned to kill the prisoners, so none could swim away or escape, yet the centurion spared Paul's life. So orders were that all would go ashore and they fell into the water, with planks or pieces of the ship, everyone reached land in safety. (verse 44)

When God is with you, the orders will go out, that all go together and not one life will be lost!
Ever notice how someone chooses to do something, that just does not line up in being safe or keeping wisdom as the principle thing in decisions?
In writing this today, I was thinking of how people make their decisions based on a human "whim"! A whim? You know like an urge, impulse, a spur of the moment kind of decision that is just "Wrong"!

In seeing the centurion in chapter 27 of Acts, choosing to go along with the pilot of ship and the owner of the ship, would you not think that these would at "least" have knowledge to know the difficult passage that would lay ahead in seeing the season's had changed and winter was on its way?
Sometimes people let pride get the best of them. They are the "men" and they have a ship and "know the seas". Well, they did not know how to receive good instruction, as when Paul told the centurion what would transpire in all this.
Those who may have made the trip a thousand times does not make them the "most knowledgeable" or able-bodied men to finish the trip in wisdom and safety. Now I know not how anything of this "centurion" , but I do think he knew of Paul and possibly of what he spoke in regards to hearing from God. My curiosity is stirred up in regards if the centurion was told by the Holy Spirit to listen to Paul. For I certainly believe Paul was praying for all of those men involved in the trip to get to Italy.

Did not matter how many ships or men, but that prayers had to be going on for all and Paul was the man to do it!
It is also interesting to me how they chose to do what they did. YOU know those who choose to move out in the wrong timing of like moving ships or even ministry. The whole timing thing is off and things out of order. To me that is the same is trying to wash your clothes with you in them or wearing them or like writing a check for something and you have no money to back up the written check.

Then the winds start to blow, and then the northeaster comes in and like most northeasters, they bring high winds and very cold temperatures and generally snow. The waves themselves would cause many aboard to stay "green" in the face for many, many days. Their stomachs probably felt like they had been turned inside out!  Because Paul warns them about the 14th day to eat........why? because they had not eaten due to the truth of violent waves tossing that ship around like a toy in a bathtub. Imagine the intense waves and the motion of the ship...........up and down, side to side, and then up and down again. Let me off this ride!
And we find that they have neared a beach, and though the ship is breaking up in pieces, all find safety just like Paul spoke.

This year has been a year of hardships for those who do their business on the seas. There have many been fishing vessels sunk this year due to some rogue waves that seem to come out of nowhere.( you can even read of rogue waves hitting cruise ships and even yachts) And those waves have proven their strength time and again showing the man-made vessel has no standard to hold against such waves of strength. Even in the last few days there has been mention of another vessel going down somewhere near Alaska. I believe it was a fishing vessel. Another ship is lost to the sea forever. I think of the movie 2012 and that ocean liner that is capsized by the gigantic wave of a tsunami! Now that is a "rogue wave"!

Arriving at Acts 28, they have made it to an island called Malta. The islanders showed some awesome hospitality. The islanders built a fire and welcomed them all in the rain and the cold. Yes, seems like it is some bad time for traveling!  But we see in verse 3 of Acts 28, that Paul is helping and as he gathers the brushwood, and places the wood into the fire, it is a viper that fastens itself on his hand. Of course, all look on, and those of the islanders who see the snake hanging from his hand speak, "this man must be a murderer; for though he escaped from the sea, Justice has not allowed him to live."
Then it is Paul who shakes off the viper and he suffered no ill effects. Nothing happened to Paul!

Justice is the word that seems the most prophetic today. Justice, that like Proverbs 21:2-3 states,

2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes,
But the LORD weighs the hearts.

3 To do righteousness and justice
Is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice. NKJV

It is doing that which is honorable to all people. Paul held relations in justice with others. In all that he exercised in following the Lord proved an example of a justice  that God resides over. In determining that what we do reflects on what we believe, that which we hold in our hearts. In Paul's case, what he held to was a belief that God would take him where he needed to go and have him do what God desired Paul to do! It is seem in every step that Paul takes forward in his life.

In Matthew 22:18, we see what Jesus perceived as wickedness in those sent by the Pharisees and the Herodians and their plot to entangle him in such a way to discredit him altogether. But what do we find Jesus replying to them?

Matthew 22:15-22...............15 Then the Pharisees went and plotted how they might entangle Him in His talk. 16 And they sent to Him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, "Teacher, we know that You are true, and teach the way of God in truth; nor do You care about anyone, for You do not regard the person of men. 17 Tell us, therefore, what do You think? Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?" 18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, "Why do you test Me, you hypocrites? 19 Show Me the tax money." So they brought Him a denarius. 20 And He said to them, "Whose image and inscription is this?" 21 They said to Him, "Caesar's." And He said to them, "Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's." 22 When they had heard these words, they marveled, and left Him and went their way.   NKJV

First, Jesus called them hypocrites and asked why they test Him.
Jesus then told them to render to Caesar the things of Caesar and to render to God the things that are God's.

Matthew 22:37-40.........37 Jesus said to him, " 'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.'  38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'  40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets." NKJV

AND Jesus said that we are to love the LORD our God with all our heart, with all our soul, and with all our mind. And that we are to love our neighbor as ourselves. On these two commandments hand all the Law and the Prophets.
Yes, from the very same passage of scripture, we find Jesus pulling it altogether for us.

In Paul's walk thus far, he was always seeking God and giving care for his neighbor.

1 Peter 3:8-17......................8 Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous; 9 not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing. 10 For

"He who would love life
And see good days,
Let him refrain his tongue from evil,
And his lips from speaking deceit.
11 Let him turn away from evil and do good;
Let him seek peace and pursue it.
12 For the eyes of the LORD are on the righteous,
And His ears are open to their prayers;
But the face of the LORD is against those who do evil."

13 And who is he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good? 14 But even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you are blessed. "And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled."  15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; 16 having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed. 17 For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.   NKJV

WE are told in 1 Peter 3 that the eyes of the LORD are on the righteous and His ears are open to their prayers, but the face of the LORD is against those who do evil.
And WHO WILL HARM YOU IF YOU BECOME FOLLOWERS OF WHAT IS GOOD?
BUT even if you should suffer for righteousness sake, YOU ARE BLESSED.
YOU STILL COME OUT SMELLING LIKE A ROSE. YOU COME OUT ON TOP. YOU COME OUT THE HEAD AND NOT THE TAIL, ABOVE AND NOT BENEATH.
DO NOT BE AFRAID OF THEIR THREATS, NOR BE TROUBLED, BUT SANCTIFY THE LORD GOD IN YOUR HEARS. GIVE A DEFENSE TO EVERYONE WHO ASKS YOU A REASON FOR THE HOPE THAT IS IN YOU WITH MEEKNESS AND WITH FEAR.

JUSTICE: My favorite scripture is Psalm 37:5-6............5 Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.

6 He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your justice, as the noonday. NKJV

Today, no matter what ship you happen to be on, whether that job, that ministry, that new position, that new city, the appearance of being alone, the appearance of being the forgotten, or the one just left behind when others seem to want to lead, remember God has a plan. He has "justice" for you in the right place at the right time!

Remember today, that your best days are ahead. Remember the whole leadership of the company may have degrees that are framed and fill their offices several times over, BUT it is not the degree that will take you EVERYWHERE YOU NEED TO GO FOR GOD. It is by knowing God and His plan that brings into the necessary motion of life that brings results to see the greatest things God has for you and you alone. It will always include others and those humble in spirit. Remember it may appear dark, and the waves high, and MAYBE meals are not your priority RIGHT NOW, BUT I can guarantee that like Paul, you can sleep through a wild storm. You can have the answers for others just like Paul did and you can continue to see, whether on the beach or on the ship, God is with you and will lead you through to the end!

Father, Your word says that when we commit our way to the  LORD, and trust in YOU that YOU bring forth righteousness as the light and YOUR justice as the noonday. According to this Word , we pray for Justice to be done in our lives. We who faithfully follow, stumble some, but keep our eyes on YOU, seek YOUR plan and purpose to the end. YOU are the Light and have brought us out of darkness.

It is YOUR Word that protects us and in this we apply that word and send it out in prayer. Your word is true and does not lie…….we are assured and certain the things YOU have promised but that we cannot see at this moment. (Hebrews 11:1)…
Scripture tells us that we are not to withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is in our power to act. There are those today who are worthy of their pay, of their advancement, of their growth in ministry, worthy to increase and not to be divided by divorce or sickness. There are men and women today who are being led by those who operate in whims. today, we say by the authority of the name of Jesus and by His shed Blood, that stops now. For those who have faithfully complied, and have kept the word of God in their hearts, we expect to see a harvest in their finances, a harvest of souls in ministry. We expect favor in the workplace, favor from outside the church building. We expect favor for those who render music, in praise and worship to have contracts fulfilled and finances come now into the kingdom of God! May there be favor of those in the new place, the new position that fulfills God's plan to the end! May there be righteousness, justice and fair dealing in every area and every relationship connected with this teaching today. With whatever storms, we expect pace of God to rule and reign in all proceedings. Whatever phone calls and or meetings, may they all be held in the spirit of excellence in God Himself.

Father, thank YOU for all deliberations to be done justice. We give praise to Your name and may the Holy Spirit be loosed now into all situations. If God be for us, then who can be against us? Amen.

Dealing with Pain

Ever dealt with pain? I mean pain that continues with no relief.  In seeing people dealing with their pain I think how easy it is today to take a pill. There are many who must get their relief  in the pharmacy with a prescription or in one over the counter. I thought today of days early on in my life when a game of basketball with friends at school brought me to grief on the floor when my foot got entangled with my sister's foot in making a shot.
Yes, for years I went to chiropractors and doctors alike. There were times the pain brought me down from my regular routine to bed time for days and weeks at a time. The pain would come and go. Finally I decided, I needed another's help. So applying God's word has helped me so much. He has given me wisdom to know which nutrients I need to keep peace in my muscles. One thing I have seen in the many years, that when one suffers with pain from any source, one can be stopped in their tracks. Literally anyone with a confrontation of pain, heartache, and death can stop someone cold. They will freeze up, unable to cope with the situation that faces them.
I love to walk and hike some distances. But we had not been able to do that till we found relief in the Word. Early on, we would hike the long canyons in Colorado. Another was a hike out of a reservoir area we were hunting one year for elk. I would not want to do that again in mid October. But praise the Lord for His goodness to those who do their own thing!

But the subject of pain can bring tears, and remembrances of hard times of doing nothing in life. Pain can separate a person from other people. Nothing from our past can add to our future. Taking baggage with us from the past only brings the past to this present moment. Dwelling on hurts and disappointments only brings despair.

Ecclesiastes 1:12-16....I discovered that the lot of man, which God has dealt to him, is not a happy one. It is all foolishness, chasing the wind. What is wrong cannot be righted; it is water over the dam; and there is no use thinking of what might have been.

16 I said to myself, "Look, I am better educated than any of the kings before me in Jerusalem. I have greater wisdom and knowledge." So I worked hard to be wise instead of foolish --but now I realize that even this was like chasing the wind. For the more my wisdom, the more my grief; to increase knowledge only increases distress.     TLB

In the Living Bible this verse is paraphrased, “What is wrong cannot be righted; it is water over the dam and there is no use thinking of what might have been.”

Only God can restore. He can change that which needs to change and a lot of the time it starts with each of us. As my daughter always says, “it’s a heart issue, Mom!”
We can be encouraged that whatever is dealt to us may be as bitter lemon, but God can make lemonade out of it and see us prosper in the future.

In the scripture above, the increase in  knowledge is that of the world. People think the more head knowledge they have the more happy and prosperous they will be, but it is the wisdom of God that leads us to life in abundance, a more set for a course of glorifying Him and not us. Learning something that helps us become more equipped in the course of life as a nurse, a doctor, and/ or lawyer always take some education. But to keep getting an education in something you cannot get a job in is futile.

In life there is always going to be disappointments, discouragements, and pain, but how we address them and move on determines our success in moving forward in life. Applying God's Word to that source of pain helps tremendously. In applying that life-giving word, we are taking God's pill for the situation.

 Psalm 38:6-8...6 I am troubled, I am bowed down greatly;
I go mourning all the day long.
7 For my loins are full of inflammation,
And there is no soundness in my flesh.
8 I am feeble and severely broken;
I groan because of the turmoil of my heart. NKJV

Turmoil in the heart is a serious thing.  Being consumed about an illness, a family in chaos, illness of family member miles away, over a child's rebellion at home and in school, or just feeling abandoned in times of pain, can cause turmoil. It can cause us to stop. Have you or anyone around you ever mention, "I do not like this ride anymore and I want to get off? Or "just stop this planet please, I would like to try another?" I have!
Weariness can drag a person down when they continually mourn the thing for which they meditate on in regard to loss and or pain. They might see disappointment as to a job loss, or a ministry. They might see a family breaking apart by the most unusual circumstances, and not know what to do to stop it. Although the person above in Psalm 38 was most likely dealing with some sickness or disease within their body, he surely meditated on hearing the verdict of the illness.  He was groaning in his heart because of the magnitude of the circumstance.

Psalm 38:17-20.....17 For I am ready to fall,
And my sorrow is continually before me.
18 For I will declare my iniquity;
I will be in anguish over my sin.
19 But my enemies are vigorous, and they are strong;
And those who hate me wrongfully have multiplied.
20 Those also who render evil for good,
They are my adversaries, because I follow what is good.  NKJV

David was mentioning his sorrow, his pain was continually before him. He points to sin that he had to declare to God. Even though he felt his enemies were strong and even those who hated him had multiplied, he courted the truth that God would help him since he followed after good.
In experiencing pain, we can feel as weak as the weakest elderly person alive today, with no resistance available. But where we are weak God makes us strong.

We are to cast our care upon God for He cares for us!

Psalm 55:22........2 Cast your burden on the LORD,
And He shall sustain you;  He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.  NKJV

1 Peter 5:6-10....6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. 10 But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.   NKJV

Father, I pray for all who need peace today, that they would be settled in YOUR peace and plan. Today, I pray for all those who are dealing with pain in their hearts, that they would rise up knowing Jesus took this to the cross. As the Great Sacrifice, He came to give us hope in our final outcome. Jesus came to make sure that we would be perfected, established, strengthened and settled, understanding that life is to be lived in unity with You our Father. We pray this in His name, that today, men and women everywhere would be those with eyes open to see the adversary for what he is and that he is a liar. YOU Lord came to give us life and life more abundant.

Jesus told us in Matthew 10:39 ......39 "If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give it up for me, you will save it. TLB

We know that we must surrender everything to God. He instructs us of total self-sacrifice in devotion to God's will. We are told to deny self to gain the spiritual life.  For if we do not completely and wholeheartedly relinquish our life for the higher life in God, we will lose both.  Today, we seek to pray in self-examination asking if we have truly relinquished everything to You our Father. We desire to abandon our former life of pain and heartache. We know this, that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but He has given us His power, His love and His sound mind. Father, for wherever we are not settled in this word, help us to be strengthened as YOU give us Your Word in prayer time, that secret place in meditating Your truth. Help us to say NO to pain and live the life YOU planned for each of us. We thank You we are not alone in pain of the body or the mind but You are an ever-present help in trouble. Amen!
