God the Father Will Honor

 I love Psalm 27. The activity is tremendous. I always relate it back to the stories my parents told me of my great-grandparents and how they shaped a wilderness into a home for family, a place of work and a place to rest! Many people today love that they can just buy a home and move in. People are happy to shop for furniture and appliances they might desire and just spend money rather than to carve out timbers for walls in a log home. I remember stories of family moving to make a homestead in a barren land. They moved to find a place, to work with their hands and to make a difference in a new land. They had heart for the unknown and it was experienced in life both on the plains and in the southwest.

What applies here is a heart’s desire! The heart wants what it wants. And does not our heart have the light of Christ in it? In thinking of David, we are told he had a heart for God. 1 Samuel 16: 7 “Do not look at his appearance, or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” Then.... V. 12 And the LORD said, “Arise, anoint him; for this is the one.”

Only with a hearing heart will we discern.  From the book of Proverbs, we find in chapter 3, that the Lord by wisdom founded the earth; and by understanding He established the heavens; 20 By His knowledge the depths were broken up, and clouds drop down the dew.

Okay, God’s wisdom is His tool. It is His possession and He uses it in wonderful ways. His knowledge will break up the depths of our heart that must be removed to actually hear Him speak.  And when He speaks, He keeps our foot from being caught. We walk safely in His way. We do not stumble. We are not afraid and when we lie down at night our sleep is sweet. We are not to be afraid of sudden terror nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes; For the LORD will be our confidence, And will keep our foot from being caught.

Hearing God is paramount for living. Going into that "new land", God gives specific instruction. And we are to discern the difference of what is God and what is of the world. The “simple”, considered the empty-headed is void of good sense and he goes his own way daily. But those who have heard God, received His salvation has found God in the new, for the old life is gone. The Lord has  prepared a place for us…and we must know what it looks like and how to operate there!

Proverbs 7:4-12 Amplified Bible 4 Say to skillful & godly Wisdom, You are my sister, & regard understanding or insight as your intimate friend--- 5 That they may keep you from the loose woman,

The KJV speaks of the loose as the “strange”…2114…”zoor”…profane……from the adventuress who flatters with & makes smooth her words. 6 For at the window of my house I looked out through my lattice. 7 & among the simple (empty-headed & empty-hearted ones, I perceived (discerned) among the youths a young man ( a son) void of good sense.  …8 Sauntering ( without hurry or effort) through the street near the [loose woman’s] corner; and he went the way to her house. 9 In the twilight, in the evening; night black & dense was falling [over the man’s life]. 10& Behold, there met him a woman, dressed as harlot & sly & cunning (sly) of heart. 11 she is turbulent & willful; her feet stay not in her house; 12 Now in the streets, now in the marketplaces, she sets her ambush at every corner.

Those with a guarded heart have their own agenda. When the man or woman is not committed to the wisdom of God, then they are “meat” for him who is ready for any commotion, any noise and finding mostly those with no sense who speak openly in arrogance and only opinions.  This person has a “religion” but speaks lies with flattery. This person who sets ambushes for others is the one on the hunt for anyone vulnerable to their speech, loud restless movement, including that of suggestive clothing and scents for appeal. The world always holds out great “things” but in them is only emptiness, vanity and no life.

Jesus came to bring light and salvation. And in the darkness He, the Light would bring strength to people’s lives. Jesus came to awaken the dead out of a bad existence. Jesus brought the "new" and we can have them when willing.

In Psalm 27 there is a rescue from danger. Light came to dispel that darkness. And one thing dispelled would be him who devours the innocent without cause.

Psalm 27:1-14  NKJV  The LORD is my light and salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? 2 When the wicked came against me to eat (devour) up my flesh, my enemies and foes, they stumbled and fell. 3 Though an army may encamp against me my heart shall not fear; though war may rise against me, in this I will be confident. 4 One thing I have desired of the LORD, that will I seek; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in His temple 5 For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set my upon a rock. 6 And now my heard shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me; therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle, I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD. 7 Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice! Have mercy also upon me and answer me. 8 When You said, “seek My face,” My heart said to you, “Your face, LORD I will seek.” 9 Do not hide Your face from me; do not turn Your servant away in anger, You have been my help; do not leave me nor forsake me, O God of my salvation. 10 When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take care of me. 11 Teach me Your way, O LORD and lead me in a smooth path, because of my enemies. 12 Do not deliver me to the will of my adversaries; for false witnesses have risen against me, and such as breathe out violence. 13 I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that would see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. 14 Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say on the LORD!

 

In the verses of 4-6 we find the Lord has deployed a camp around us. In this is the presence of the Lord. It is God’s presence where fellowship is seen. And in that is the man or woman secure. To abide in His presence and to hear Him speak truth ….will keep us secure in His arms. I know of people who have moved from church to church to find the safe church and it is the building not on the main highway but hidden in the back of a neighborhood, behind some big trees and next to a pasture.  To them, this is their security. But here the security is different! Church attendance might be a 100 percent, but how about the heart issue. Has one surrendered to be faithful to the Lord, doing what He said do but also to avoid associations with such people that be murderous to your living for God? The secure will only be secure in God alone and not by any structure or group of people!

We are to be around the Lord, stand in His presence, led by His love for us that He has a place prepared for us and it certainly comes by obeying Him! Can we be distinguished from those who are the worthless, that is, they follow the world and have no hearing for God, nor do they have any thought for His holiness nor His truth. They have no place for Him as they had no place for Jesus in Bethlehem on the night of His birth.

The Innkeeper had much room for those paying to get rooms for the night who came to pay their taxes, but had no room for the birth of a child. Oh so true, even to the individual who goes through the rigorous routine of that schedule and not experience the suddenly from God who has a new life, a new way of living from the old existence!

Are the malicious witnesses hanging close to your doorway? Do they stand close to feel their breath on your face or next to your ear?  David certainly knew about this and he would be king. But David had confidence in the Lord and he withstood the threats of those out of vengeance against him. He would encounter a king who would sit ready to through a spear through him. He would find those who would hate him because he took the throne. Those who loved Saul and wanted his reign to continue will bring out those who desire to sling mud and belittle him who would be kind. Bribes in David’s time is no different than we have seen in the last few years of this nation. Anything to do with bribes will corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely is well documented in the history of world government.

David had a heart’s desire for God and it is made clear as we read of him and the history of his family. David kept the firing burning in prayer to God and he would wait on His word to move him. Many today move on a word from their neighbor or the barista at the coffee shop. But truly only God should move us!

Matthew 15: 19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts (reasoning's, disputing & designs) such as murder, adultery, sexual vice, theft, false witnessing, slander & irreverent speech.  20 These are what make a man unclean & defile [him]; but eating with unwashed hands does not make him unclean or defile [him]. Living righteously comes from the heart: keeps us from irreverent speech. It comes through faith in Jesus that is guarded by God’s love. Righteous actions appear in the born again believer: that new life reborn in Christ Jesus.

Again the heart wants something, and if it is not filled with God, then it is filled with the world.

Proverbs 4:23 Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.  Prov. 18:2 amplified Bible….. A [self-confident] fool has no delight in understanding but only in revealing his personal opinions & himself.  No opinions please: God’s thoughts only

NKJV of Proverbs 18:2 reads: a fool has no delight in understanding, but in expressing his own heart.  A fool….has no excitement to have God’s understanding. They regard opinions, they regard the caprice, the arguments of their own held opinion…living by impulse! Have you seen someone just leave work to go do something else? What about the man or woman who is leading a group of people and in the middle of the meeting leave to go fishing?

Prov. 9: 6 Leave off, simple ones [forsake the foolish & simpleminded] & live! & walk in the way of insight & understanding.  We do not walk by their ways or their speaking….ruled by God’s Word.

We must live in God’s wisdom. We must forsake the foolish ones and their foolish ways. Proverbs 14:33-34   Amp. Bible 33 Wisdom rests [silently] in the mind and heart of him who has understanding, but that which is in the inward part of [self-confident] fools is made known. 34 Uprightness & right standing with God (moral and spiritual rectitude in every area & relation) elevate a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.

God loves those who listen and obey Him. He lifts our head above our enemies. He brings us to honor. He brings us to joyful shouts in whatever situation or trial may be occurring in our lives. He is for us and will not forsake us. Psalm 3:3 But You, O LORD, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head.

Our significance is not found in any position, nor in another person, place or thing. It is found only in our relationship with the Father who planned for us! David found an honor in worshiping the Father in the wilderness. He found the strength to face the lion and the bear to protect the sheep in his care. In his beginning with God, he found favor because of a right heart for God. And finding that is everything to having a life filled with the strength of God, to rule and reign in His peace and not be found wanting or as the fool!

Now it is your turn. Will you choose to worship the Lord in His presence and experience the humility of that honor when God lifts you to be in the position He destined you for? It is your move and will you move for His glory and to His plan?

WAGED WAR

Things of this world are temporary. Things are always passing away. In a WAGED WAR, those living godly lives for God can see all kinds of persecution come against them. You can see this in David. But our battle is in the unseen realm. Because it is not people we battle but the spiritual forces in heavenly places that has everything to do with the devil trying to stop God's sons and daughters. We can see persecution, but we are here to encourage one another and to strengthen each other in the word of God where we live spiritually sound. We are to daily renew our spiritual vitality by the word of God. We are to feed on that which feeds us and builds us.

The Spiritual in Christ Jesus is nothing like the natural of human nature. People are here today & they are gone tomorrow! It is the One true God who has the eternal knowledge and the experience to lead us in the way we should walk. For man can blow hot one day and the next blow cold, he can change quicker than the weather can, and he can know you one day and forget your name in the next day! But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.(Ephesians  2:13)We are in Jesus, we have everlasting life with no death. For sin we have been given salvation, and from hopelessness we have eternal joy.

Let's take a look at a waged war: 2 Kings 13:14-19 Elisha had become sick with the illness of which he would die. Then Joash the king of Israel came down to him and wept over his face and said, “Oh my father, my father, the chariots of Israel and their horsemen!” 15 And Elisha said to him, “Take a bow and some arrows.” So he took himself a bow and some arrows. 16 Then he said to the king of Israel, “Put your hand on the bow.” So he put his hand on it, and Elisha put his hands on the king’s hands. 17 And he said, “Open the east window.” And he opened it. Then Elisha said, “Shoot” and he shot . and he said “The arrow of the LORD” deliverance and the arrow of deliverance from Syria; for you must strike the Syrians at Aphek till you have destroyed them.” 18 Then he said, “Take the arrows” so he took them. And he said to the king of Israel, “Strike the ground; so he struck three times and stopped. 19 And the man of God was angry with him and said, “you should have struck five or six times; then you would have struck Syria till you had destroyed it! But now you will strike Syria only three times.”

This king Joash was facing WAR! He had come to the prophet who was sick and also dying!

And the most interesting thing here in this passage, is that God using Elisha, gave instruction to the king and the instruction also included from verse 16 is "put your hand on the bow" and then Elisha put his hands on the king's hands. Most certainly God was in the house, was in the midst to cause victory to come to the King and the nation. In this, it was God putting his hand onto that of the political of king Joash of that which was required. We see this today where the Lord has put his hands on that of our president.

But even within this instruction, we are told that Elisha told "the king" to strike the ground and the king only struck it three times. The word then was: you should have struck five or six times; then you would have struck Syria till you had destroyed it! But now you will strike Syria only three times."

I wonder how many times, we as individuals go limp in our walk with the Lord? I wonder how many of us get lazy and will not continue to give thanks to God for His goodness to us? I wonder how many of us do not get a song in our heart and pull it out to be heard that will wage the war when we are slow in our step, slow in responding to God, when the victory is here and now!

Hebrews 12:12 Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees, 13 and make straight paths for your feet, so that which is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed. 14 Pursue peace with all people and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: 15 looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble and by this many become defied.

Another who waged a war was David! And he, David Waged War with His hands and His fingers: Psalm 144:1 Blessed be the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle---2 My loving kindness and my fortress, My high tower and my deliver, my shield and the One in whom I take refuge, who subdues my people under me.

Psalm 18:32 It is God who arms me with strength, and makes my way perfect, 33 He makes my feet like the feet of deer, and sets me on my high places. 34 He teaches my hands to make war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.

1.   David blessed God by giving thanks

2.   David also waged war in the spiritual realm when he played with harp for King Saul who was plagued with distressing spirits

3.   God made David’s feet swift in action

 It speaks even in the moments that David played for King Saul! 1 Samuel 16: 19 Therefore Saul sent messengers to Jesse, and said, "Send me your son David, who is with the sheep." 20 And Jesse took a donkey loaded with bread, a skin of wine, and a young goat, and sent them by his son David to Saul. 21 So David came to Saul and stood before him. And he loved him greatly and he became his armor bearer. 22 Then Saul sent to Jesse, saying, "Please let David stand before me, for he has found favor in my sight." 23 And so it was, whenever the spirit from God was upon Saul, that David would take a harp and play it with his hand. Then Saul would become refreshed and will, and the distressing spirit would depart from him.  Saul love David because of the Holy Spirit on David.

Then 1 Samuel 19:9 Now the distressing spirit from the LORD came upon Saul as he sat in his house with his spear in his hand. And David was playing music with his hand. 10 Then Saul sought to pin David to the wall with the spear, but he slipped away from Saul's presence; and he drove the spear into the wall. So David fled and escaped that night. 11 Saul also sent messengers to David's house to watch him and to kill him in the morning. And Michal, David's wife, told him, saying, "If you do not save your life tonight tomorrow you will be killed."

Yes, it was king Saul who hated David. From verse 9, Saul now sits in house with a spear in his hand. (Have you even seen someone ready to fight that battle against you? You enter the room and it seems like you cut the atmosphere with a knife? They try speaking anything that would offend you?) Saul loved the anointing of God on him, but when people were speaking good things of David above what was spoken of the king, then the king became angry. It was not God who sent the "distressing spirit" but that which Saul's heart contained a hate toward another which brought distress to him. This man had bitterness of heart!

Remember when Saul heard this: 1 Samuel 18:6-11NKJV Now it had happened as they were coming home, when David was returning from the slaughter of the Philistines, that the women had come out of all the cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet King Saul with tambourines with joy, and with musical instruments. 7 So the women sang as they danced, and said: "Saul has slain his thousands and David his ten thousands." 8 Then Saul was very angry, and the saying displeased him; and he said, "They have ascribed to David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed only thousands. Now what more can he have but the kingdom?" 9 So Saul eyed David from that day forward. 10 And it happened on the next day that the distressing spirit from God came upon Saul. and he prophesied inside the house. So David played music with his hand, as at other times, but there was a spear in Saul's hand. 11 And Saul cast the spear for he said, "I will pin David to the wall!" But David escaped his presence twice.

You can see this even today on those who spend lots of time on Facebook and the such. Lets keep our eyes on Jesus and not on Suzy Q....let's keep step with the Lord and worship Him with hands lifted high speaking glory to His name always!

Can you see how good God is when there is war "raging" against you? That in those moments we see ugliness appear,  we can pull out "the harp" and play worship to God. We can lift our hands even at work and worship the Lord God on high who lives in our hearts and knows all things!

What song do you think of when distressing times come? Hopefully it is not that song of "que sera, sera, whatever will be, will be! What nonsense! Future is ours, and it is packaged in God's mercy and grace. It carries a banner that is written "victorious" in the blood of the Lamb! Yes we can change the atmosphere around us and we change that which is waged against us, when we wage with worship to God WHO is more than enough!

God is good all the time and do we notice even when war is waged against us even now in this moment? Still we are the anointed just like David. We have the Holy Spirit Who came upon us at the repentance of sins and to receive Jesus as Lord of our lives. We have the Holy Spirit in us and HE certainly is noticed by individuals like a king Saul! And what is interesting, Saul had the Spirit of God come upon him when he was chosen to be king over Israel yet he continued to do his "own" thing and that got him killed in the end.

In this day and within this hour know this:

Jehovah Elohim: Creator of the heaven and earth, Who was in the beginning

Jehovah Tsidkenu… our righteousness

Jehovah—Shammah who will never leave us nor forsake us…You are our Helper….we will not fear nor will we be terrified….What can man do to us?

El-Elyon: the most High God, the First CAuse of everything, the Possessor of the heavens and the earth. The everlasting God, the faithful God, mighty God who is truth, justice, righteousness and perfection.....El-Elyon.......blessed be His name forever!

You are Great I Am in our midst….Greater is He Who is in us than he who is in the world…..

For what will appear in this end of this year, where elections are on the agenda of many minds and certain agendas in the hearts of those who greatly desire to change God and His rule, still God is in our midst and the waged war cannot win against that of the LORD! Our Creator is aware, alert and ever mindful of us. He is truth, justice, righteousness and perfection. He is God. He is Christ the Lord and you and I have Jesus Christ in our hearts, Who will never leave us, nor will He forsake us. We shall not be terrified, what can man do to us? We are on the side of God Who is great! Amen.

Being Led by the Holy Spirit

1  Corinthians 2:9-16

No eye has seen,  no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him"-  10 but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. 

John 14:24-27   Amplified Bible……24 anyone who does not [really] love me Me, does not observe and obey My teaching. And the teaching which you hear and heed is not Mine, but [comes] from the Father Who sent Me. 25 I have told you these things while I am still with you. 26 But the Comforter ( Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance ) everything I have told you.

 27 Peace I leave with you; MY [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled].

1 John 4:13…by this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.

Luke 11:9-13……NKJV…..…9 "So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you;  seek, and you will find;  knock, and it will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 11 If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? 12 Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? 13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!"

Food for thought: We have a deeper outpouring of His Spirit when we ask God to give us one.

Keep being filled: Ephesians 5:18… Ephesians 5:17-21………. 17 Therefore do not be unwise, but understand (to be wise) what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled (to cram a hollow place—to make full) with the Spirit , 19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, 20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21 submitting ( being in unity together) to one another in the fear of God. NKJV

 Ephesians 4:29-32 Amplified Bible…29 Let no foul, polluting language, nor evil word, nor unwholesome or worthless talk [ever] come out of your mouth, but only such [speech] as is good and beneficial to the spiritual progress of others, as is fitting to the need & the occasion, that it may be a blessing and give grace (God’s favor) to those who hear it.  30 & do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, [do not offend or vex or sadden Him], by Whom you were sealed (marked, branded as God’s own, secured) for the day of redemption (of final deliverance through Christ from evil and the consequences of sin) .  31  Let all bitterness & indignation & wrath ( passion, rage and anger, bad temper…) and resentment (anger, animosity (hostility)) &  quarreling ( brawling. clamor, contention,) and slander (evil speaking, abusive or blasphemous language ) be banished from you, with all malice (spite, ill will, or baseness of any kind).  32 & become useful, helpful,and kind to one another, tenderhearted ( compassionate, understanding, loving-hearted), forgiving one another [readily and freely] as God in Christ forgave you.

Malice: intent to harm, with pain, injury and distress…it is being hateful to another person and contaminates the heart with much bitterness….baseness:  They lack moral principles: selfish, mean!

1 Thessalonians 5:5-28…Amplified Bible..…5 For you are all sons of light & sons of the day. We do not belong to the night nor of darkness. 6  Accordingly then, let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep wide awake (alert, watchful, cautious, & on our guard)& let us be calm and sober (calm, collected, and circumspect). 

7 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night. 8 But we belong to the day; therefore, let us be sober and put on the breastplate (corselet) of faith and love( the same kind of faith and love God has) ( I am acknowledging today and giving thanks that I have on that breastplate of righteousness) and for a helmet the hope of salvation…… 


Ephesians 6:14-15…14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 & with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. NIV

 9 For God has not appointed us to (incur His) wrath,[He did not select us to condemn us] but [that we might] obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ( the Messiah), 10 Who died for us, that whether we are still alive or dead [at Christ’s appearing], we might live together with Him and share His life. 

Food for thought: Sharing His  power, His love, His strength, His courage….by the Holy Spirit..AMEN!

 11 Therefore encourage (admonish, exhort) one another & edify (strengthen & build up) one another, just as you are doing.12  Now we also beseech you , brethren, get to know those who labor among you (recognize them for what they are, acknowledge, appreciate, respect them all]-----your leaders who are over you in the Lord & those who warn, and kindly reprove and exhort you, 13 & hold them in very high & most affectionate esteem [in intelligent & sympathetic] appreciation for their work. Be at peace among yourselves. (UNITY)… 14 & we earnestly beseech you, brethren, admonish (warn & seriously advise) those who are out  of line [ the loafers, the disorderly, & the unruly]; encourage the timid & fainthearted, help & give support to the weak souls, [&] be very patient with everybody [always keeping your temper].

15 See that none of you repays another with evil for evil, but always aim to show kindness & seek to do good to one another & to everybody. 16 Be happy in your faith & rejoice , be glad-hearted continually [always] 17 Be unceasing in prayer [praying with endurance]; 18 Thank God in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful & give thanks], for this is the  will of God in Christ Jesus for you [who are] in Christ Jesus [ the Revealer and the Mediator of that will]. 19 Do not quench (don’t put out the fire) (suppress or subdue) the [Holy] Spirit.

 20 Do not spurn the gifts & utterances of the prophets [do not depreciate prophetic revelations nor despise inspired instruction or exhortation or warning]. 21 But test & prove all things [until you can recognize what is good, [to that hold fast ] 22 Abstain from evil [shrink from it & keep aloof (a distance) from it] in whatever form or whatever kind it may be.  23 & may the God of peace Himself sanctify you through and through;( separate you from profane things, make you pure and wholly consecrated to God] & may your spirit, soul, & body be preserved sound & complete [& found] blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ(the Messiah)   

24 Faithful is He Who is calling you to Himself & utterly trustworthy & He will also do it [fulfill His call by hallowing ( calling you into holiness as He is holy )and keeping you]. 25 Brethren, pray for us. 26 Greet all the brethren with a sacred (that is a holy) kiss.  27 I  solemnly charge you in the name of the Lord to have this letter read before all the brethren. 28 The grace (the unmerited favor and blessings)  of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) be with you all. Amen. (so be it)

Food for thought: We can grieve or quench His Spirit by sin.
We can quench the Holy Spirit by ignoring Him, neglecting to acknowledge His presence in us, & refusing to follow His lead. Daily we should be willing to respond to Him. Following Him into holiness and be set apart for His will. Daily we are to recognize Him, the Good and hold fast.

Knowing we have the Holy Spirit …..our faith and love are in God to do good to others, THEN THE ACTION COMES BACK TO US…………RIGHT?

THEN AS It falls back to :   our ATTITUDE= our ACTION….A settled thought or position causing a specific action from within then that points from a person’s character. It is a belief that is so set in our heart, that we act it out in behavior toward another.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT:  But Jesus was always directing His disciples to people’s heart intent. Having the Holy Spirit to love others and not grieve.

Mark 12:38-44 ……….38 Then He said to them in His teaching, "Beware of the scribes, who desire to go around in long robes, love greetings in the marketplaces, 39 the best seats in the synagogues, and the best places at feasts, 40 who devour widows' houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. These will receive greater condemnation."

41 Now Jesus sat opposite the treasury and saw how the people put money into the treasury. And many who were rich put in much. 42 Then one poor widow came and threw in two mites, which make a quadrans. 43 So He called His disciples to Himself and said to them, "Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury; 44 for they all put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all that she had, her whole livelihood."    NKJV

Intentions of the heart……..1 Thessalonians 2: 3-20   Message Bible…God tested us thoroughly to make sure we were qualified to be trusted with this Message. Be assured that when we speak to you we're not after crowd approval-----only God approval.  Since we've been put through that battery of tests, you're guaranteed that both we and the Message are free of error, mixed motives, or hidden agendas. -------An undisclosed plan, especially one with an ulterior motive.

The battery of tests is for more that one specific thing, but includes many tests….but all point to one thing: where you stand in believing God…for trust in Him and the love and faith you hold to accomplish that thing.

As to Pharaoh and the 10 plagues and he drowned people in the 11^th testing….

Tested:

1. in your giving  ( this is always a given)

2. in your marriage if married ( how you treat your spouse)

3 in relationship to others within a group setting ( willing to hear others speak)

4 in the work place ( having regard to being responsible in your work with right attitude)

5 how you view the word of God

6 comply with prayer

7 where your trust lies: in the Word of God, led by the Holy Spirit or led by you

8 what time is spent with the Lord

9 what is your communication time: (do we spend 8 hours communicating with Him like we do at work?)

10 in your confidence toward God and His purpose for you (this will include your finances: do you tithe even if not attending a church right now)

Food for thought: 
Can we say: “THIS IS THE PURPOSE FOR WHICH I WAS CALLED”?...Yes

1.   Faithful

2.   Have a zeal about that project or ministry to another group

3.   Learned all that you need to know for your purpose

4.   Set your heart to hear Him speak daily

5.   Applied Prayer to accomplish what He has purposed

6.   Recognizing my strength in prayer and to study: to write and study again

·         “WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN TESTED?” “WHAT AREA HAVE YOU SEEN TESTS?”

·         We should be acting like there is a demand for our time in teaching, giving a word to exhort, teaching children, leading them in prayer, showing them Jesus’ miracles.  

1 Thessalonians 2…Message Bible. We never used words to butter you up. And God knows we never used words as a smoke screen to take advantage of you. Even though we had some standing ( authority) as Christ's apostles, we never threw our weight around or tried to come across as important, with you or anyone else. We weren't aloof with you. We took you just as you were. We were never patronizing, never condescending, but we cared for you the way another cares for her children. We loved you dearly. Not content to just pass on the Message, we wanted to give you our hearts. And we did.   (Aloof: they were not aloof but were kept close…)

You remember us in those days, friends, working our fingers to the bone, up half the night, moonlighting so you wouldn't have the burden of supporting us while we proclaimed God's Message. … And God knows we weren't freeloaders! You experienced it all firsthand. With each of you, we were like a father with his child, holding your hand, whispering encouragement, showing you step-by-step how to live well before God, who called us into his own kingdom, into this delightful life. And now we look back on all this and thank God, an Artesian Well of thanks! When you got the Message of God we preached, you didn't pass it off as just one more human opinion, but you took it to heart as God's true word to you, which it is, God himself at work in you believers!   

Receiving God’s Word is allowing Him to work in us…..In receiving Jesus we are the sheltered in His love. & sealed by the Holy Spirit!  The very fruit of the Holy Spirit’s presence is His operation on our hearts which produces that repentance. 


The fruit is revealed in Galatians 5:22-26….. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control.  NKJV
Aligning ourselves with His command & will, and loving His people, we have the evidence of a renewed heart & sealed for the day of redemption. Through the gift of the Spirit, God renews our minds & sanctifies us by His word of truth. It is by the Spirit that our heart’s hopes & desires are brought forward for His glory. God grants to us His Holy Spirit as the pledge that we are forever His. & in that we see God’s joy accomplished in us. As we continue to conform in Christ’s image, we allow the Holy Spirit to empower us to do that thing. The more room we make for HIM in our lives, the more He puts His power and revelation to work for that purpose. 


Communication with the Spirit was the secret to Christ’s ministry & it is the main secret to our ministry as well. The testimonies of God teach us what the Holy Spirit is like & how to move with Him. They keep us aware of the God who invades the impossible & understanding His power to invade, then we move into knowing He is the God of the possible when we are not focused on the mundane of life.

(That is: we come out of routines to do His will for our lives.) 
Father, thank You for the Presence of YOU, that washes over us. We know that in coming to hear YOUR Word, we are allowing the Holy Spirit to strengthen us, to refresh us, mold us, to enlarge us, help us to focus and in doing so, we become what YOU purposed for us.

Father we desire to be so deeply committed to YOUR plan of promise that we open our hearts to hear YOUR Spirit speak to our hearts. Holy Spirit You are the center of all that happens in this place. It is YOUR love and YOUR presence we take delight. For in this place we shed tears, we find joy for our hearts, happiness takes on new meaning, and freedom is having lives that reflect repentance and much relief.

Fill us fresh with Your love, peace and power . We desire YOU to invade the impossible in our lives today. We desire to be the consecrated, the prepared and active in fulfilling that call YOU planned.

Holy Spirit we invite YOU here. Do YOUR desire for us in this place. Influence our lives so that we might influence others.  We can do nothing without Your revelation, Your guidance and Your power! Draw us to YOUR place of safety and blessing.

As You are speaking to our souls, hearts and spirits, we give praise and worship for Your are leading us forward into our futures. Thank YOU for bringing us into the realm of the miraculous. Certainly, not as a show, a magic act, but by demonstration of Your power in this place. For this power is Your love and compassion to a hurting and dying nation. Take the invisible and make it visible to us. Today our dependence is on YOU. We are led now into that which YOU have enabled us to do for the Father’s glory.

Lead us into that which we never have dreamed that we could do, but will experience in our lifetime. Enable us to use the gifts You have placed in each of us to help others. Teach us clearly to understand Your leading. Help us lay down that foundation of prayer that is needed to hear YOU so clearly and precise. Enable us to mentor and disciple others. Give us those words that will bring healing to another. Help us to proclaim that Jesus has come to bring “liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound. (Isaiah 61:1)

Your kingdom come, Your will be done today in Jesus' name. Amen!
