Fervent Heat and Much Noise

God’s Promise is NOT Slack
: 2 Peter 3:9-13 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is long-suffering toward us, not willing any should perish but that all should come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. 11 Therefore since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to the promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

1.      We should be found living in godliness and faith

2.      His promise are great and precious, trustworthy, proven and inspired by the Holy Spirit

3.      We should be looking forward to the day of His kingship and rule on earth as it is in Heaven

From verse 10 we are told that the heavens will pass away with a great noise. All will be burned up on earth. Nothing will remain of it!

I would hope people would realize many decisions of the 60’s of the last century came through others than Baby Boomers. Many boomers were just ten or twelve when many in suits were raging against WAR!

Today:

1.      We worship not God but the Almighty Green Back Dollar.

2.      Greed has become the national motivator in America.

3.      Sex is the “obsession”. Wearing garments is seen as taboo!

4.      Gambling is the National Pass-time. I know folks who have lost their home due to gambling.

5.      Illegal drugs is consumed daily here in this nation, many dying much too soon.

6.      God is not allowed in schools and many churches.

7.      Kids are taught not reading, writing or math, but to be transgender and seek fantasy with green witches and magic wands.

8.      Babies are not welcome in the womb.

9.      Homosexuality is highlighted in this nation! Legalized same-sex marriage reigns.

10.  We are the moral polluter of planet earth. Does that make your skin crawl?

Plain and simple truth is America is a nation rejecting Christian heritage replacing it with the crude, rude, and paganized culture. We are a rebellious people. We thumb our nose at the great Creator God who has showered us with unparalleled blessings for over 300 years. God is expelled and the result is a society of wanton violence against others.  Believe me Jesus told us about Hell and it is a place to avoid.

As the Church grows increasingly weak from its internal rot, society continues to plunge into darkness. We are presented with a REAL and Present DANGER: NUCLEAR HOLOCAUST!

Peter Pry the executive director of the federal EMP Task Force on National and Homeland Security, some years back had told Congress at that very time period that a major EMP could cause widespread "starvation, disease, and societal collapse" that could lead to the deaths of tens of millions of people. The Obama administration on hearing this released a multi-agency battle plan to study and defend against what many scientists consider the most likely source of EMPs: solar storms, which Bill Murtagh of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy calls "a real and present danger." ( again this was awhile ago.)

We are closer now than ever to that “nuclear blast”! Acts 3:19 Repent therefore & be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, 20 and that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before, 21 whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began.

A Refreshing: a recovery of breath; to be revived ( NT 404: an—aps’—ook—sis)

Thayer’s Lexicon states: to recover from the effects of heat …to be refreshed in one’s spirit, refreshed by fellowship, by consolation, kindnesses: 2 Timothy 1:15-16 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. 16 However for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life.

1.         Might show: N.T.  1731 & 1722 ( en---dike’---noo---mee) to indicate by word or deed

2.         Pattern: NT 5296  (hoop-ot—oop’---o—sis) imitate

3.         Believe: N.T 4100 ( pist---yoo—o) meaning to credit our faith in Christ Jesus and not of the world

365 days a year, we should indicate by word or deed imitate with a credit of our faith in Christ Jesus…. The refreshing that came was by mercy of God! This mercy was not a passive emotion but an active desire to remove the cause of distress in others. We have opportunity through Jesus to come into the presence of God Himself!   Psalm 16:11 You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is the fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

1.         We must be living above our senses…..no drama queen, no pouty face

2.         A joy that appears as being gleeful; A rejoicing with laughter and ease with much peace

3.         Distress is removed; aiding one with sympathy in our heart

4.         Revived in the Lord: we are pulled out of fear, apprehension & worry

5.        It is about being refreshed receiving forgiveness of our sins.

Godly People delight in doing Good:  Proverbs 21:15 It is a joy for the just to do justice, but destruction will come to the workers of iniquity.  It is joy for the righteous man to do justice ; participating with God in His kingdom to regard His rights by His righteous nature for truth, love & peace.  The Bible tells us in length that “the way of the transgressor is hard” found in Proverbs 13:15…in that we see those who get drunk have hangovers to display their hard life, lack of money because it is spent on that which does not profit anything but only produces a really bad hangover.  Choosing to wreck their health with drink is a bad choice!

Psalm 89:13-18 NKJV 13 You have a mighty arm;  Strong is Your hand, and high is Your right hand.

14 Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne;  Mercy and truth go before Your face.

15 Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound!  They walk, O LORD, in the light of Your countenance.

16 In Your name they rejoice all day long,  And in Your righteousness they are exalted.

17 For You are the glory of their strength,  And in Your favor our horn (strength) is exalted.

18 For our shield belongs to the LORD,  And our king to the Holy One of Israel.

1.         Here we find truths: From v. 15 joyful sound, was the trumpet sound of jubilee, it was the            sound of setting captives free and restoration.

2.         Our refreshing is found in worship to Him who saved us! His holiness is imparted to us through Jesus Christ: it is in His mercy & truth where we walk in His light, His face is ever toward us and as we rejoice in His name, in His righteousness we are exalted

3.         It is a foundation set in God’s righteousness and His justice : it is led by the beauty of God in His kindness toward us….It is truth that is a stability that is established……it cannot be moved: Proverbs 12:3 A man is not established by wickedness, but the root of the righteous cannot be moved. Proverbs 10:25 When the whirlwind passes by, the wicked is no more, but the righteous has an everlasting foundation.

Refreshing place in Jesus: anchored in Him… in this, there is No Shaky Town: this is an inside Job …. Character Drives Our Purpose; Habits: strong or shaky; that is strong in the word of God’s truth or shaky in discipline that is of the world…stress will always point to true heart & character of a person!

1.         Being disciplined : in the Word, quick to follow instructions , obedient to parents, respecting them because the Word tells us to honor them. Seeking good habits for a healthy body /sound mind.

2.         From shaky city of the world…..do we just choose a way as we go / make our own way through haphazardly;  Lack of order is living aimlessly, without peace /without planning, one who is going somewhere to happen/ that can appear as destructive;    will we obey the rules of the road, eat the right kinds of food or just give it up for the anything goes lifestyle……???

3.         Multiplied behaviors: did you have two parents: did you grow up in America……or were you brought up in one nation to live in another????   It is the same as the born again person: we must submit to the rule of God in His kingdom. You cannot go from one nation bringing your own flag and symbols of that nation into the new nation. You must submit to the new nations laws and the rules of that land as in the United States, one nation under God, one nation with one language and one flag.

4.         True character will be exposed when pressure is on you the person!

Each of us are responsible for spiritual warfare and anticipated victories. Things are literally heating up to a great explosion.  Flesh will melt. Even told that tongues will dissolve within the mouth, and that is horrific indeed. Yet even in this hour, the presence of evil struggles for survival.  We do battle in faith and with faithfulness to the Lord; it is His ultimate kingdom we live in; Holy Spirit is preparing us even now for these kingdom victories today: Daniel 7:21-22 NKJV “I was watching; & the same horn was making war against the saints, & prevailing against them, 22 until the Ancient of Days came, & a judgment was made in favor of the saints of the most High, &the time came for the saints to possess the kingdom. God overrules all other thrones

The Divine or the Monster: one will choose life and another death. One will choose the straight path  and the other folly. One will choose peace and love of God and the other fire and brimstone.  In this hour, be faithful to Jesus when confronted with persecution and death. And when the opportunity arises to encourage a young believer, may they note the courage in your heart that gives praise to Him who lives forever! For we choose to obey God and not people! We choose to be faithful to receive the crown of life, to be dressed not only for salvation but in righteousness too! Today we receive this word of God that teaches Jesus is coming for us soon! Amen.

A Harsh Word

Can you imagine a believer today receiving a harsh word? How about a word that is of God and still harsh? What if it could save your life and your loved ones? Would you receive it or go about your own business?

In the book of Esther, we find there is this occurrence! Today one would just say, “Well that is not of God and continue in their own opinion and plan!” Yes, it is sad but so true today!

In this book of Esther, we learn that Esther’s parents died and she is raised by her cousin Mordecai who is a scribe for the king. ( he adopts her as his own child) We learn that within the king’s partying mode, that Queens Vashti will not come before her drunken king husband nor before his drunken friends to coax their egos. No, she refuses and the king decides to get a new Queen.  She was not going to be brought down from her rightful place by marriage to the king to be ogled by his drunken lustful fiends!

In this day, the young women and girls are taken from their homes in Persia. They are kidnapped under the dark of night and are faithful to the instruction told them, and with that, they bring back as many young girls for the kings viewing.  (Yeah, I think they call them “harems”)

The process would begin with all the right beauty products, the right clothing, hairstyle, jewelry and perfumes, and would include even the foods they would eat. The process would take a year and then the “groomed” girl would come to stand before the king!

While in the home of Mordecai, Esther is raised to know the customs of her people. She also has the advantage of knowing the wisdom Mordecai has gained from the many years of walking with God. He had given her knowledge of the Holy One and he gave her insight  before she was taken by surprise to be given over to the king and his whims.

Now in this day, one might see this as sexual trafficking. Still the very lives of these people are portrayed in their actions to the hostile time of which they lived, the opportunity to uncover a conspiracy and hold out in prayer for God’s plan was seen. Would that hold true for our hearts?

Esther is chosen to be Queen. The hostile actions of people like Haman increases and choices will have to be made. In Esther 4: When Mordecai learned all that had happened, he tore his clothes and put on sackcloth and ashes, and went out into the midst of the city. He cried out with a loud and bitter cry. 2 He went as far as the front of the king’s gate, for no one might enter the king’s gate clothed with sackcloth. 3 And in very province where the king’s command and decree arrived, there was great mourning among the Jews, with fasting, weeping and wailing; and many lay in sackcloth and ashes. 4 So Esther’s maids and eunuchs came and told her, and the queen was deeply distressed. Then she sent garments to clothe Mordecai and take his sackcloth away from him, but he would not accept them. 5 Then Esther called Hathach, one of the king’s eunuchs whom he had appointed to attend her, and she gave him a command concerning Mordecai, to learn what and why this was.

Esther 4:6 So Hathach went out to Mordecai in the city square that was in front of the king’s gate. 7 And Mordecai told him all that had happened to him, and the sum of money that Haman had promised to pay into the king’s treasuries to destroy the Jews. 8 He also gave him a copy of the written decree for their destruction, which was given at Shushan, that he might show it to Esther and explain it to her, and that he might command her to go in to the king to make supplication to him and plead before him for her  people.

Esther 4:9 So Hathach returned and told Esther the words of Mordecai. 10 Then Esther spoke to Hathach, and gave him a command for Mordecai: 11  “All the king’s servants and the people of the king’s provinces know that any man or woman who goes into the inner court to the king, who has not been called, he has but one law: put all to death, except the one to whom the king holds out the golden scepter, that he may live. Yet I myself have not been called to go in to the king these thirty days.” 12 So they told Mordecai Esther’s words.

Esther 4:13 And Mordecai told them to answer Esther: “Do not think in your heart that you will escape in the king’s palace any more than all the other Jews. 14 For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” 15 Then Esther told them to reply to Mordecai: 16 “Go, gather all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and fast for me; neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will fast likewise. And so I will go the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish.”

Mordecai, clad in sackcloth and ashes descended to the city square! He has heard a harsh word. Death would be coming to take out the Jews. And in his mindset of a prophet he sits and mourns in the square. He is pronouncing what is coming. There is the sound of hoofbeats with riders descending on a nation set to destroy a people. And Queen Esther sends out a word. She has come to the king’s palace. She has dressed in fine apparel, she has eaten the finest foods and had the fabulous treatments of a spa in her own home. And now Mordecai, does this act and speaks these things! Harsh word is given and she has heard it. But she wants to dress him and tell him everything will be okay. Let me dress you up, and here put on gladness because of these fabulous glad type clothing I have here. Come on and cheer up and let me clothe you and feed you with the finest from the king's table!

But all is not good for the Jews! And it is he who tells her so. Mordecai knows the heart of Haman and his destructive plan for the Jewish people. Mordecai would not bow before Haman and now this thing is appearing on the horizon and it is now growing substantially. A man with a hatred toward the Jewish people is more apparent with  money paid, and violence is heard and the horses with riders, yes, the men ride to send out the decree!

Esther 4: 13 And Mordecai told them to answer Esther: “Do not think in your heart that you will escape in the king’s palace any more than all the other Jews. 14 For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

Here Mordecai, reminds her to not think in her own heart that she will escape in the king’s palace and even more than all the other Jews. He says even more, for in this he is reminding her of her place among the Jews and the heritage her parents had for her long ago. He is telling her to not wrap this hostile action against the people in fine apparel, with the finest that is found in the palace among the king and his men. No one can serve the world and God also! You cannot have two masters. And what are you serving when you go for the quiet time, that quiet moment with God? Did you bring back loads of revelation or just find you like being left to your own? It took Mordecai, Esther the Queen and many servants to pray for the righteousness of God to be seen in the land in a tremendous time of hatred! And everyone would be affected by this hate: both adults and the children and future children of this nation!

Where has God placed you in this nation? Where has He planned for you to live in this world? For those who really hear, will know in the midst of chaos God rules from a quiet heart that is ruled by Him. In the midst of great noise, God can hear in the softness of His speaking. Instruction came!

Whatever beauty she had, whatever grace held, she only had left of what God could and would do in a believing and faithful heart. We cannot wrap the world around what God is doing! We cannot wrap the world around just anything and call it good! No! What we should take note of is, like Mordecai went in the extreme manner, to display the importance of what was about to occur to a people: certain death! Dressed in sackcloth and ashes, he mourned for that which belonged to God! He mourned for a people of God.

And his response to Esther is one that she can die in the palace as well as those outside could and would die. But he reminds too, that she has come to the palace for such a time as this and that being tuned to God in this hour is paramount to ending with God. She is impacted by a greater purpose than just her own comfort and status quo. By her uncle's words she is turned from her own self-interests to the plans and purposes of God. Her heart had to have purity to go and do for the Lord.

A harsh word she had heard! A harsh word she had to receive or end in death with many people. A harsh word by Mordecai the prophet, to a Queen, to be reminded what side are you on!

May we not be short-sighted. May we be women and men, too, who will delight in heart and receive correction when it is for a people of a nation that God calls his own for His purposes and to His praise. Shine, you are made for this day and this hour to pray, hear from God above the noise and run with purpose.

In my own life, I remember loving those quiet moments, those minutes that evolved into many hours of prayer and study of God's word. For talking with Him is still my favorite hearts desire. I can wear those ear buds, have my phone in hand, but the language is by the Holy Spirit and the word I hear is God's by His own voice! ( for we are to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added to us. So when our God is daily added as first for twenty years, one would have that walk established, and it would be to His will, purpose and glory to pursuing His call for our lives. Also remember that seeking His kingdom and His righteousness always comes with knowing those who will receive His word of truth and who will not receive that word of TRUTH in Jesus. For Matthew 7 is a continuation of Matthew 6 and He warns of preaching or teaching the Gospel to those who would cheapen the Word, the Gospel of Grace. He called them dogs and swine!) Yikes!

And I remember the day, our daughter and new son-in-law were arriving at Seatac. I remember having to stop that regular routine in my day to get to the airport at the right time. And as I drove there about mid-afternoon, I remember the Lord speaking to me to be able to hear in and above the noise. He said to me back then in 2002 that noise would be the rule in the world. He revealed noise would become a real burden. He also warned me to be able to discern by what was His speaking and what was of the world.  Yes, that of the world you know of like: the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and that pride thing!

So I began that day: getting up early, spent time in prayer, did some things around the house, headed to the airport about an hour earlier than required. I got parked, headed into the terminal and got a coffee and sat. I did not find that "quiet" out of the way little table by the wall.  Did not go search out a cubby hole somewhere! No, I found an empty seat with a loud T.V overhead playing loudly the days news events. And the noise was great and it increased while I sat there. And I prayed even more, but I could hear Him speaking and what a wonderful time I had at the airport waiting to meet and greet my family back from their honeymoon.

1 Thessalonians 4 reminds us of comfort of Christ’s coming. In verse 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the triplet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first, be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words. 1 Thessalonians 5:1 But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. 2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. 3 For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. 4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. 5 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober ( self-control) 7 for those who sleep, sleep at night, those who get drunk are drunk at night. 8 But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love and as a helmet the hope of salvation. 9 For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him. 11 Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.

Yes that "peace and safety" and then that sudden destruction. I tell my husband daily I love him so that I miss not an opportunity in case of a sudden thing.

Of late, we have seen a number of those documentaries of Draining the Ocean. And in a couple I saw this last weekend was eye openers. Draining the Ocean in a number of areas, yes, with that new technology, they uncovered vast amounts of volcanoes erupting, vast amount of fault-lines in the oceans, especially the mid-Atlantic ridge that runs all the way to Iceland. And this can give way to an earthquake under the ocean that can cause cities to be taken over by extreme sized tsunamis in minutes and in some cases even in seconds. We also saw one such volcano under the ocean that exists off Italy   ( the west side). We saw how vast the destruction would be from one erupting under the ocean that would give way to the earth sinking into the oceans depths. They know this because it had occurred before to another thriving community hundreds of years ago. How far reaching would such the magnitude of a volcano erupting within the depths of salt water that could overtake a country in under some thirty minutes and how much great destruction would be experienced. For they noted one such community was hit by the volcanic eruption, then a tsunami and then a second eruption that led to more than two years of winter. In moments a great quake can take out cities along coast lines and wash out hundreds of miles of land inland. And that is done underground, so can you imagine above the ground and what you might see? We have one such volcano that erupts regularly that  we keep watch on off the coast of Oregon and it is growing in size indeed! (you know that is how the Hawaiian islands were formed, right?)

Let us be of the day, lights shining bright, not to given to much sleeping when we should be awake. Not to being drunk in our own vanity but having a breastplate of faith and love. As the Christian we are to enjoy the advantages of being in the light. It is to avoid those potentially dangerous and destructive surprises given in the darkness.

In the lives of Mordecai and Esther, we recognize honor. Honoring God, these were honoring His people, and to behave in Him so that when an unbeliever sees, they will honor God and Him as their source of godliness. Each of us can most likely say we have lost a loved one in the last two years. And some might even say that loss occurred during 2020 and also 2021, but we expect to see those loved ones again. Our comfort is receiving God and His word and however harsh it might seem, we would do well to obey and move by His Holy Spirit to see His kingdom to continue to come into our lives and see His glory fill this earth indeed!

Because we can see things can change in an instant of time! Anyone ready to receive a place for a "harsh word"?

Were You Left at "Jericho"?

Mark 10:46-52
46 Now they came to Jericho. As He went out of Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the road begging. 47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" 48 Then many warned him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me!" 49 So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called. Then they called the blind man, saying to him, "Be of good cheer. Rise, He is calling you." 50 And throwing aside his garment, he rose and came to Jesus. 51 So Jesus answered and said to him, "What do you want Me to do for you?" The blind man said to Him, "Rabboni, that I may receive my sight." 52 Then Jesus said to him, "Go your way; your faith has made you well." And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.
NKJV

In this passage we are reminded of Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus.
You remember the man standing by the roadway, begging as one being blind would do. It appears he is in the right place. Someone most likely placed him there to beg to those who passed by like those going to King Herod's summer time palace in Jericho.
But on this day, Jesus of Nazareth was passing. And am certain this blind man heard the crowd. And all the noise of those who were following Jesus at the most opportune moment, prompted the blind man to take courage. He was blind and wanted to be heard by the one who had caused the blind to see and the lame to walk.

In the natural aspect of this, I wonder how many plant themselves by the side of a roadway hoping to be heard. They are those who really do not see and are the lame in that they cannot do for themselves. They are the fallen, those who have been abused and even left behind by the loved one. They have come from broken places to reside in broken places. They come from other ruling entities as to overbearing parents, leaders or spouses. They can come from a regular looking home and still fall short in some area of their mind, will or emotions.
How many even today are waiting to hear of "HEALING" in the house, or "RESTORATION" to a broken heart? How many are in a church setting, but with no way to relate a brokenness in their heart? They are silenced by the all-important agenda of a pastoral committee!
In scenes of most churches on a Saturday or Sunday, all are having you to be believe in being happy, teaching happiness, and that there is no brokenness. They desire to let you know "that you have come to happy land" and "there is no trial, no tribulations. They want you to know that you will be protected in the "happy land". This blind man was brought to a place to help him exist but not to flourish.
In the case of Bartimaeus, we see two things going on. He was placed to receive from man and maybe the rich and famous. We also see him placed by Jericho, the summer retreat home for the king and see him ministered by Jesus. He was not ministered to "in the church" but by the side of the road.
It was during a walk Jesus had in going to minister to others. Jesus was on His Way somewhere to reach someone.
Did a family member drop him there to beg, to fill a gap they the family member, or friend could not give him?

Blind Bartimaeus spoke loudly to Jesus, crying out "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" Certainly when that happens, there will be those around to say "shut-up"! Or they might tell you to leave the man alone. Either way, this blind man was going to heard. And he continued to cry out, now, not only over the roar of the regular crowd, but also those who would desire to quiet Bartimaeus.

Most certainly God is order! But His order comes in the form of humility. In that of Jesus, He was, is and will always be the Prophet. He was humble before His Father and remain steadfast to pleasing the Father. There is a boldness that rises out of one who is the broken when they see one of courage WHO STANDS IN BOLDNESS TO DO THAT WHICH IS RESISTANT TO THE legalistic views of those who capitalize on religion and not on what was intended from the beginning of time for all of us. The blind saw Jesus spiritually and reached for His divinity and truth with boldness.
It was boldness reaching for boldness. It was the infirm reaching for the healing he desired from Jesus. He was reaching out to "authority" and he saw Jesus holding everything he needed.

So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called. Then they called the blind man, saying to him, "Be of good cheer. Rise, He is calling you." 50 And throwing aside his garment, he rose and came to Jesus. 51 So Jesus answered and said to him, "What do you want Me to do for you?" The blind man said to Him, "Rabboni, that I may receive my sight." 52 Then Jesus said to him, "Go your way; your faith has made you well." And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus.

When I think of Jesus passing by, and He stopped upon hearing the blind man speak. Then Jesus command him to come to Him. Upon writing this, I was thinking of the Garden of Eden and the walk Adam had with God in the "beginning".
We saw where God quieted the world in Chapter 1............"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (2) The earth was without form and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters." (3) Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light.

There was chaos in Bartimaeus' life and it included much darkness. For whatever background he had, people had placed him near a place where the rich would frequent. He was placed where the hand-outs would come quickly and most likely they were of the very nature of the generous donation to the blind man, indeed!
But what he, Bartimaeus needed was light brought to him and it came when Jesus entered his darkness. And the very spark of life in His voice spoke to the death in his life. Bartimaeus quickly threw off that garment that spoke loudly of "BLIND MAN". He threw off what he did not need to gain what he could from Jesus. He was the expectant.
"What do you want Me to do for you?"  Then Bartimaeus spoke........ "Rabboni, that I may receive my sight."   Bartimaeus, called Him Master. This blind man was wanting to recover what was rightfully his. Others born had their sight. He was saying you are the Master, my sufficiency.
He was experiencing the Holy Spirit on Jesus and that power made him come to the life that was truth and the way for his life.

A truth to remember: the blind had to move toward Jesus.........He is movement and is always going forward. We cannot expect to set up a tent and live in a place, expecting Jesus to show up every day or every other day to meet us at our lowest. If we have met Him and acted on His Word, then we have received something from Him, and we act. We do not revert to the "tent" or place we have set up to stay. His faith made him well. He acted and walked. He went with Jesus, where Jesus was going. He did not stay beside the road at Jericho.

Being reminded of the garden and the creation of man we think of that relationship Adam had with God.
From the garden we saw beauty, and we saw failure. Oh, not for God in God or from God, but in man!  Sad but true!
Yes, Adam fell from his place. From that stance of walking with God, he did not keep that watch to keep it going. And in that I recall that both he and his wife heard God walking in the garden in the cool of the day. Ah, distractions will cost you something!

Genesis 3:8-9
8 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden. 9 But the LORD God called to the man, "Where are you?" NIV

It is interesting that they heard Him walking in the garden. Can you really hear someone walking on grass in a garden of lush vegetation? Interesting! But we find what the "walking" meant!

That walking in the garden..........walking is Strong's 1980.....halak and is................"behave"
in the garden......is Strong's 1588 .....is Greek........fenced garden......defended and protected.

When we truly seek the Lord and hold to His position as the Lord over our hearts, we are in that garden again, but this time in the new Adam which is Jesus Christ. In Him we have life eternally. We are to behave in that garden that is the defended and the protected.

Bartimaeus quickly followed Jesus when he received his sight. He threw away which the world had placed on him either by their own decisive plans or that which they did not understand at all , but in their own thinking merely placed a name tag on him as "the blind". The Lord Jesus will surely open our blind eyes, that which is physical and mental as well.  He will cause us to walk and in that which looks like one who is truly behaving in His garden that is rich with which is ours by believing, adhering to truth and abiding in Him. It is having trust in Him.

For the rich and famous, our wealth is found in Jesus. It is not found in marble palaces or in ornate rings and jewels that sparkly brightly. The wealth of this world is surely fading away, but His Word and truth will remain.

Hebrews 1:10-12
"You, LORD, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth,
And the heavens are the work of Your hands.
11 They will perish, but You remain;
And they will all grow old like a garment;
12 Like a cloak You will fold them up,
And they will be changed.
But You are the same,
And Your years will not fail."
NKJV

We see something in Paul's preaching. He gave truth to those who came. But there were those who would not believe. They left.

Acts 28:24-27
24 Some were convinced by what he said, but others would not believe. 25 They disagreed among themselves and began to leave after Paul had made this final statement: "The Holy Spirit spoke the truth to your forefathers when he said through Isaiah the prophet:

26 "'Go to this people and say,
"You will be ever hearing but never understanding;
you will be ever seeing but never perceiving."
27 For this people's heart has become calloused;
they hardly hear with their ears,
and they have closed their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
hear with their ears,
understand with their hearts
and turn, and I would heal them.'  NIV

In the King James Version, it reads this way.
Acts 28:27
27 For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. KJV

And that waxed gross has the meaning of rendering callous or to stupefy. It is 3975 Strong's....pachuno.
The NT is 4078,,,,pegnumi.......,,meaning to set up tent.

They are not moving anywhere. They are the stationary. They cannot see, they cannot hear, and they have no understanding. They choose not "to hear".

For those like Bartimaeus, he wanted to see with his eyes, hear with his ears, and understand with his heart and received that good part. He desired to receive that of which Jesus represented in His kingdom ..........that is of humility with one God, is of love and of mercy. For those who will not turn at His humility..........that merciful love.........they will not be the healed.

Psalm 101:1-6
I will sing of mercy and loving-kindness and justice, to You, O Lord, will I sing. 2 I will behave myself wisely and give heed to the blameless way-----O when will You come to me? I will walk within my house in integrity and with a blameless heart.
3 I will set no base or wicked thing before my eyes. I hate the work of them who turn aside [from the right path]; it shall not grasp hold of me. 4 A perverse heart shall depart from me; I will know no evil person or thing. 5 Who so privily slanders his neighbor, him will I cut off [from me]; he who has a haughty look and a proud and arrogant heart I cannot and I will not tolerate. 6 My eyes shall [look with favor] upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me; he who walks blamelessly, he shall minister to me.

Walking within our house is walking 1st and foremost with God. When we check in with Him, first we check ourselves for anything which should not be there. To be in the blameless way..........the perfect heart is a full heart committed to God.  It is the heart instructed in the things of God. It means having Christs thoughts and purposes in our heart.
Verse 4.....anyone who has a perverse heart, that indulges into their own glory, their own agendas, and has nothing of real growth potential from God's word for another will certainly come to nothing. One who truly recognizes truthful in another will be at peace with them. Those who carry chaos within their hearts, will only bring forth muddy waters that will just muddy up another person. When we are the behaved, we walk wisely. Our counsel is from God and Him alone. He then sends trusted people who counsel with Him as well. A person who feeds on God's faithfulness will recognize another as well!

Romans 2:6-11
6 God "will give to each person according to what he has done."  7 To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. 8 But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger. 9 There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile; 10 but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 11 For God does not show favoritism. NIV

Romans 2:6-11 in the Amplified reads like this: 6. For He will render to every man according to his works [justly, as his deeds deserve]. [Psalm 62:12]  7 To those who by patient persistence in well-doing [springing from piety] seek [unseen but sure] glory and honor and [the eternal blessed of] immorality He will will give eternal life. 8 But for those who are self-seeking and self-willed and disobedient to the Truth but responsive to wickedness, there will indignation and wrath. 9 [And] there will be tribulation and anguish and calamity and constraint for every soul of man who [habitually] does evil, the Jew first, and also the Geek (Gentile). 10 But glory and honor and [heart] peace shall be awarded to everyone who [habitually] does good, the Jew first and also the Greek (Gentile). 11 For God shows no partiality [undue favor or unfairness; with Him one man is not different from another] Deut. 10:17; 2 Chronicles 19:7

Those like Bartimaeus, who choose life will find the goodness of God. They will delight themselves in His goodness and dwell in peaceable habitations. They will reside in peace and quiet resting places. (Isaiah 32:18) One will certainly recognize peace, truth and mercy when the love one carries is God's kind of love. Bartimaeus recognized it and heeded His power.

Father thank You for Jesus. He is Life everlasting to us. We receive the Holy Spirit that is poured into us. We are thankful for fruitful fields that becomes the valued forest.(Is.32:15)May we be like Jesus who was not stationary. He did not reside outside the high priests gate or king's palaces, but was outside doing outreach to those in need of life everlasting. Truly we are the happy and the fortunate who seek the Lord, who dwell in Him always abiding on truth that is wisdom and light to us. May we be  those who will speak out in daily communication with the Lord and tell Him what we would like Him to do for us in regard to being able to see that which we cannot see at this moment. Lord, it is our desire to keep reaching and grow louder in reaching you although we know that you are not far from anyone of us, yet we desire like children to get excited and shout sometimes. May we always be the humble before You. May we always come and pray and seek You while we may. For we desire to please You our Father. In Your light we see light. It is in You we live, move and have our being.

"What can we do for You today our Father?" May it be to YOUR GLORY AND IN YOUR PRAISE. AMEN.

Feeding on Foolishness

FOOLS MUST BE DEALT WITH DIFFERENTLY THAN THOSE WHO ARE WISE. We cannot deal with all men in the same way. Our response to people must be ...
