Wizards, Witches, Charmers and Magic

‘There shall not be found among you any one that makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that uses divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD (Deut 18:10-12)

God is speaking in this passage!

The spirit of divination is used by diviners, enchanters, wizards, witches (witchcraft), charmers, spiritualists (consulters of familiar spirits), magicians, astrologers, sorcerers, necromancers, soothsayers, false prophets, etc.

When Saul inquired of the Lord and the Lord did not answer, he went to a woman with the spirit of divination.

1 Sam 28:6-7: And when Saul enquired of the LORD, the LORD answered him not, neither by dreams nor by Urim, nor by prophets. Then Saul said unto his servants, ‘Seek me a woman that has a familiar spirit that I may go to her, and enquire of her’.  And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman that has a familiar spirit at Endor.

Like Saul, when many people today seek of the LORD and the LORD does not answer, they seek people with spirit of divination.

To seek and use spirit of divination is provoking God to anger.

2 Kings 17:17: And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.

The spirit of divination is in churches today. Many prophesying claiming to be God’s prophets are not but people with spirit of divination working for Satan.

True God prophets are sent to an individual to;  Call an individual to repentance and to give direction in God’s word.

The entire future of a Christian is clearly revealed in the Bible. Believe.

God says,

Leviticus 19:31 Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.

Leviticus 20:6 And the soul that turns after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.

We know this is an abomination to God! God regards sorcery as something very serious.  He regards it as so dangerous that in the Old Testament he commands the death sentence for sorcerers.  We see this in Leviticus 20:27: “A man or woman who is a medium or spiritualist among you must be put to death. You are to stone them; their blood will be on their own heads.”  In Exodus 22:18, we also read these stern words from God: “Do not allow a sorceress to live.”

King Saul was God’s anointed king.  He wanted to serve God, but somehow he always managed to fail.

Jim Gerrish wrote this: The horrible price of continuing to practice sorcery is illustrated for us in Revelation 22:14-15.  Jesus says, “Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.”  Obviously those who choose to practice magic arts or sorcery will be permanently excluded from the kingdom of God.

The good news is that there is still time to repent of this sin. The Bible says in Psalm 97:10: “Let those who love the LORD hate evil…”  God hates sorcery.  As we have seen, it is detestable to him.  As God’s dear children we must love what he loves and hate what he hates. Yet, we know from the Bible that while God hates sin, he loves the sinner.  While we also must hate the sin of sorcery in all its forms, we must remember to love the sorcerers and never stop praying for their deliverance.

The Sorcerer’s Profession of Faith : Acts 8:9-13   9  But there was a certain man called Simon, who previously practiced sorcery in the city and astonished the people of Samaria, claiming that he was someone great, 10 to whom they all gave heed him because he had astonished them with his sorceries  (magic arts) for a long time. 12 But when they believed Philip as he preached the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized. 13 Then Simon himself also believed and when he was baptized he continued with Philip and was amazed seeing the miracles and signs which were done.

Acts 8:14-23  NKJV  14 Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them. 15 who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. 16 For as yet He had fallen upon none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 17 Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit. 18 And when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money, 19 saying, ‘Give me this power also, that anyone on whom I lay hands may receive the Holy Spirit.” 20 But Peter said to him, “Your money perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God could be purchased with money! 21 You have neither part nor portion in this matter, for your heart is not right in the sight of God.” 22 “Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you. 23 “For I see that you are poisoned by bitterness and bound by iniquity.”

If this sin is an abomination during the days of King Saul and the Prophet Samuel, then it would be sinful in the days of Jesus!  The Pharisees and Sadducee’s sought Him out as a sorcerer not as the Son of God!

Those who encountered Jesus demanded more and more signs. In Matt. 16:1-4 this occurrence to perform one from heaven. Demanding a sign, even though a sign was given through John the Baptist of the Messiah present with them. John spoke Matthew 3:3 The voice of one crying in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the LORD; make His paths straight.”

In their dullness they saw no history being made within their generation. The Son of God stood before them & they knew Him not!  The gulf fixed between hell & Abraham was evident to those there in that place. Jesus taught of it. The rich man made note of it to Abraham. Those on the side of faith at Abraham’s bosom found a refreshing, but the rich man found torment! When God’s works & words are persistently rejected only judgment remains: Eph 5:6 Let no one deceive you with empty words for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. 7 Therefore do not be partakers with them.

What have we sought out with our lives in this generation? For certainly, people’s eyes have that capacity for lust, envy and much greed. People live their lives sumptuously and once ended, what will they see before their eyes :  A heavenly gracious Lord and Savior greeting them, or a flame of fire with faces of wizards, green witches, familiar spirits and charmers with magic?

What About Those Chains of Darkness?

In the light of God's Word, is our decision today going to be one in the tradition of men or is it in an expectation of learning about what was gained for us at the Cross? Will we sincerely go by the Word of God and remind ourselves of the day at the Cross, the day at Calvary when everything in the afternoon hour became dark?

Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them.

1.   God’s wrath in history recorded: the Flood Genesis 7

2.   Destruction of Sodom and Gomorrha: Genesis 19

3.   Punishment of Korah, Dathan and Abiram seen in Numbers 16:32

4.   Korah:led rebellion against Moses and Aaron/supernaturally destroyed: Numbers 16:1-35; Dathan: joined Korah; swallowed by earth seen in Psalm 106:17/Abiram conspired against Moses Numbers 16:1-50

5.   God has not left men without a revelation of HIMSELF! Creation demanded the Creator and Design demanded the Designer.

6.   Those who reject Him become what is noted in Romans 1:22, they become insufferably conceited and abysmally ignorant at the same time. Romans 1:22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man----and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.

7.   We have folks dressing up as birds, ducks and geese in Portland. The rest you hear about ride bikes with no clothes. Yikes!

John 3 :19-21 NKJV 19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light & does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21 but he Who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen that they have been done in God.

1.   Expose the unfruitful works of darkness: Ephesians 5:8-14 NKJV 8 for you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light    9 (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness and truth), 10 finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. 11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. 12 For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. 13 but all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. 14 therefore He says: ‘Awake you who sleep, arise from the dead, & Christ will give you light.”

2.   Works of darkness: this is the unfruitful works, they belong to the world of dim lights, thick smoke, drawn drapes and locked doors to secret rooms! Expose the darkness by a life of holiness and second by words of correction spoken under the direction of the Holy Spirit.

3.   People today want to keep their doing their "things" that is unholy in that of darkness. They want to swindle millions out of money, health care, food, and life!

As a believer: does our life preach a sermon, does our life expose any surrounding darkness, for it should extend an invitation to all unbelievers to come……come and hear HIM!

John 1:1-5  NKJV  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

1.   Darkness does not comprehend: Matthew 6 22-23 NKJV The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness, how great is that darkness! Is our eye healthy, a generous person or is our eye stingy, that of an Ebenezer Scrooge?

2.   Darkness in wicked males or wicked females: Proverbs 2:11-13 NKJV Discretion will preserve you; understanding will keep you, 12 to deliver you from the way of evil, from the man who speaks perverse things, 13 From those who leave the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness; ( ever tried to watch a funeral on a god channel and found you could not hear them speak?)

3.   God gives wisdom through His words, and as we are storing them up, it stores us up for success

4.   Success is a competence: Proverbs 8:14 NKJV Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom; I am understanding. I have strength.

5.   The Holy Spirit and the Son of God mediate wisdom’s qualities to you and to me who choose to walk with God daily! Isaiah 11:2 The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, the Spirit of wisdom & understanding, the Spirit of counsel & might, the Spirit of knowledge & of the fear of the LORD. 1 Cor. 1:30 But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God----&  righteousness & sanctification & redemption ---

Without Him: Nothing was Made…Colossians 1:15-18 NKJV 15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities (rulers) or powers (authorities). All things were created through Him and for Him 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. 18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.

1.   The visible Jesus represented the invisible God

2.   Jesus is Supreme…His supremacy is over all creation/ He sustains it!

Heb. 1:1-4 NKJV God, who at various times & in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, 2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; 3 who being the brightness of His glory & the express image of His person, & upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purge our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, 4 having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

Sin is darkness. It separates man from the light of God. But men love darkness. We saw this in the angels who left their proper domain, and have now a place in chains under darkness for the judgment day.

Jude 6-9 ……….6 And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day; 7 as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. 8 Likewise also these dreamers defile the flesh, reject authority, and speak evil of dignitaries. 9 Yet Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!"

Jude is attacking false prophets, and thus men and demons are interwoven in the context. He indicts these false prophets for three sins:

1. Lust: They defile the flesh, allowing a feeling to take them over the edge into sin.

2. Rebellion: They flout authority in general, but primarily that of Christ. It is hidden in the Greek, but the word authority is really "lordship." It normally refers to Christ and His lordship over us.

 3. Disrespect or disregard of spirit beings.

This third sin is interesting because he is saying that it is not that these false prophets will not talk about Satan, but their speech is gratuitous, despising, or denigrating of angelic powers. Their preaching suggests that these demons are not something Christians need to be concerned about. They side-step the issue.

Why would they do that? Because a false spirit is leading them, so they downgrade the existence and powers of demons through their preaching. This is clearly seen in Protestant Christianity, especially the mainline denominations have gone to the point that they almost universally agree that Satan, the Devil and his demons do not really exist. It shows how successful the demons have been in their deceptions.

On the other hand, there are evangelical or Pentecostal groups who talk about demons and Satan in a flippant, dismissive way: "Oh, we're going to put down the Devil tonight!" They say such things in their tent shows as part of their evangelistic campaigns. But what they are doing in reality is that they are putting Satan into a position where they seem to have power over him. BUT, they are so deceived.

The truth in regard to Satan is somewhere in between. The true church of God will have that truth, and they will understand that, yes, Satan is, he is powerful, but because of God, they do have power over him in that they can reject him and his deceptions. ( Jesus saw him fall from heaven.) Jude is giving us signs to look for in the preaching of false ministers. They will denigrate Satan and his demons, there will be indications of lusts, and they will flout the authority of Jesus Christ.

Sin of darkness is rampant today as it was in the day of Jude.

Weakened without Christ Jesus: Ephesians 2:11-13 NKJV  11 Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh---who are called the Un-circumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands---12 that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the common-wealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.

1.   We were estranged from our Creator our Father

2.   Were without a Savior, living in futility and hopelessness

Believing Power Demonstrates Strength:  Ephesians 1:18-19  Amplified Bible 18 By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light; so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones), 19 And [ so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength.

1.   Strength of God is in us who believe.

2.   That strength is demonstrated through us when our eyes for seeing is flooded with His light.

3.   That is our hearts must be filled with His thoughts, His ways and plan.

Ability and Freedom: Galatians 5:5-9  Amplified Bible 5 For we, [not relying on the Law but] through the [Holy] Spirit’s [help], by faith anticipate and wait for the blessing and good for which our righteousness and right standing with God [our conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action, causes us to hope. 6 For [if we are] in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor un-circumcision counts for anything, but only faith activated and energized and expressed and working through love. 7 You are running your race nobly. Who has interfered in (hindered and stopped you from ) heeding and following the Truth? 8 This [evil] persuasion is not from Him Who called you [Who invited you to freedom in Christ]. 9 A little leaven ( a slight inclination to error, or a few false teachers) leavens the whole lump [it perverts the whole conception of faith or misleads the whole church].

1.   Faith perverted is evil persuasion

2.   It is not of God for God is of truth, energized and expressed through love

3.   By the Holy Spirit, we are to anticipate and wait for the blessing when conforming to God’s will in our thoughts, our actions that results with hope in our heart

2 Thessalonians 3:5-6 Amplified Bible 5 May the Lord direct your hearts into [realizing and showing]  the love of God and into the steadfastness and patience of Christ and in waiting for His return. 6 Now we charge you, brethren, in the name of and on the authority of the our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) that you withdraw and keep away from every brother (fellow believer) who is slack in the performance of duty and is disorderly, living as a shirker and not walking in accord with the traditions and instructions that you have received from us.

2 Corinthians 4: 6 For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 1:17-19 For He received from God the Father honor & glory when such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory: “This is My beloved son, in whom I am well pleased.” 18 we heard this voice which came from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain. 19 And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns & the morning star rises in your hearts.

Darkness is confusion, error, and everything false. It has nothing to do with light. It is like those people under government leadership finding money being looted under namely anything to feed hungry folks, to help in disease and sickness and getting soda pop and cake! But what we need is found in Jesus. Procrastinate and it is too late then to receive Him!

Jesus brought light to reveal error when darkness had appeared through sin!  The word confirmed for salvation, healing & deliverance…to live for God by faith in obedience to Him: John 14:6 NKJV 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth & the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. It is the walk of faith in Him!   Having Jesus, is sinning no more! And no more darkness appears!

The angels who sinned are not pardoned of their sins. They are awaiting judgment. A person should find Jesus acceptable as His death that shed His blood washed away our sin! Terrible is coming, but for who?  One gentleman, ( and I use this loosely) but his hope is to break those of the Republican party and break their spirit as well.) Sounds like ones hope is in violence!  Jesus did not come for a party of people, He came to set men free from sin! Are we admitting that sin, repenting and turning to show true light to our neighbors? Terrible is coming, ready or not!

Indifferent as to being the Arrogant

Laodicea was labeled the carnal church. Neither hot nor cold, spiritually in that realm God finds a tepidness as to being unappealing. The warnings are for slackness and to conquer any sin in their lives if listed that way. He is returning and will come to Judge!

The Lukewarm Church at Laodecia: Revelation 3:15-22 NKJV “ I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold nor hot. 16 So then, because you are lukewarm & neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. 17 “Because you say, I am rich, having become wealthy, & have need of nothing--& do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, & naked---18 “I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich & white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; & anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. 19 As many as I love, I rebuke & chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. 20 “Behold, I stand at the door & knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, ‘I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. 21“To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame & sat down with My Father on His throne. 22 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

A question: Are we just indifferent to what is going on around us?  Lukewarm water is nauseating. The world wants you to lead us down a spiral of death. I am always amazed how many want to lead you with "boots on the ground". Now if you cannot sing, then praise Jesus. If you cannot dance, then dance for Jesus. If you cannot write an encouragement to others, then pray for them. Pray to reach those who require Jesus in this hour of need.

The Original comes from heaven.  The Actual Substance of Him is the anointing by faith. But those of the culture of this world spread their ideas through the empty traditions of human beings and the empty superstition of spirit beings, but that is not the way of Christ. Everything of God is expressed in Him, so you & I  can see and hear HIM clearly. You do not need a telescope, a microscope or a horoscope to realize the fullness of Christ & the emptiness of the universe without him. God needs the faithful hearer of Him not a sometime hearer and sometime doer.

Straight forward talk with God is His wisdom.   Psalm 85:8-13 Amplified Bible…I will listen [with expectancy] to what God the Lord will say, for He will speak peace to His people, to His saints (to those who are in right standing with Him) but let them not turn back to(self-confident) folly. 9 Surely His salvation is near to those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him [and is ready to appropriate] that [the manifest presence of God, His] glory may tabernacle and abide in our land.  The only tent or tabernacle is you and me…

We have the Holy Spirit who abides in us! If sin occurs then He is steadfast by giving correction but the unfaithful will move away. It is finding where one resides if they choose worldly ways.

We are not to compromise: a group who wants to change God and His word will compromise your integrity of faith……….. Romans 6:16-20 …NKJV…..16 Greet one another with a holy kiss. The churches of Christ greet you. 17 Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions & offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, & avoid them. 18 For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple. 19 For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore I am glad on your behalf; but I want you to be wise in what is good, & simple concerning evil. ( evil speaking going on )20 And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

1.   1 Corinthians 15:34 Awake to righteousness and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God.  I speak this to your shame.

2.   Here Paul quotes from a third century B.C. writer from Athens Menander. To show that our lives are influenced by what we believe with whom we are associate.

Righteousness is related to salvation, forgiveness of sin, & eternal life…See in Romans 1:16-17 NKJV For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.; Romans 6:23; Romans 8:1-2; Romans 10:1

The righteousness of God is exhibited (lived out and seen) in the believer’s life…Please see in Romans 6:15-16 NKJV  What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not! 16 do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slave whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness.

In Christ, we are given a new position which is defined and motivated to practice. In unity with Him in His death and resurrection, we know Christ is made into what God requires.  The Lord wants the church to repent and turn. He wants them to be zealous for Him and His kingdom which is coming.

Fellowship is an ongoing thing. Fellowship with Him is our responsibility. Is our life conformed to the word of God? Do people hear Jesus speak through us or is it something else?

Heard this guy speaking that in one act of culture, he now has an extra five thousand followers on his Instagram. I want you to read this, but I desire you follow Him who gives you life. I cannot give you life but I can encourage you to follow Jesus, hear Him speak His wisdom to guide you to the kingdom of God.

Jesus was obedient to His Father to the end, and his final word before his death on the Cross was a prayer to His Father. The relationship of Jesus to the Father is given in John 3:16 “ For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him may not perish but have eternal life.”

Jesus declared, “The Father and I are one.” John 10:30

Jesus declared: John 14:10 “Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me?” The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.

He had a return ticket: "I came from the Father and have come into the world; again, I am leaving the world and going to the Father" John 16:28

Jesus fulfills His own mission and that of His Father on the Cross! He directs His final word, “Father, into Your hands I commend My spirit. Luke 23:46

"Now when the centurion saw what had taken place, he praised God and said, "Certainly this was a righteous Man" (Luke 23:47).

This church, Laodecia, is one written about as those being indifferent, to being the arrogant, those only lukewarm. Do we speak like Jesus spoke from the Cross? Do our lives imitate His life on earth?

I had warned a few of the readers of this blog to be watchful for vultures gathering, for scripture tells us that they will come together for that "BIG" banquet of men and women left behind in their boots on the ground. I told Mr. Mike we had two vultures in this area for about 5 years. This year in January we had three circling. This week, the last week of August we have 8 vultures circling. Oh my! So let me know Candace, Buffy and Betty if you see many circling vultures! (Matthew 24:28) We are closer to Jesus' return, and we should be ready to go in the righteous kingdom of God.

How many vultures circle your city? Pay attention to the skies! They know He is coming soon! Amen.

Go and Tell My Brethren to Go To Galilee

To see Him risen: Matthew 28:1 NKJV Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. ( they came to view with purpose in  mind) 2 And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door and sat on it.

Verse 5 But the angel answered and said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. 6 He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lays. 7 "And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you." 8 So they went out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring His disciples word.  9  and as they went to tel His disciples behold, Jesus met them, saying , "Rejoice". So they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him.  10 Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid.
Go and tell My brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see Me."

What were they told?  They were being sent on a Great Commission! It begins with worship! Try going on your own and you will flop indeed!

Foundational Scripture:  Ecclesiastes 12:6-7;11--14 Amplified Bible  6[Remember your Creator earnestly now] before the silver cord [of life] is snapped apart, or the golden bowl is broken, or the pitcher is broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern [ and the whole circulatory system of blood ceases to function]. 7 Then shall the dust [out of which God made man’s body] return to the earth as it was, and the spirit shall return to God Who gave it.

11 The words of the wise are like prodding goads, and firmly fixed [in the mind] like nails are the collected sayings which are given [as proceeding] from one Shepherd. 12 But about going further [than the words given by one Shepherd], my son be warned. Of making many books there is no end [so do not believe everything you read]. And much study is a weariness of the flesh. 13 All has been heard; the end of the matter is: Fear God[ revere and worship Him, knowing that he is] and keep His commandments, for this is the whole of man[ the full, original purpose of his creation, the object of God’s providence, the root of character, the foundation of all happiness, the adjustment to all inharmonious circumstances and conditions under the sun] and the whole duty for every man. 14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it is good or evil.

We will know death....it will come....that silver cord will be snapped apart. We are warned that under the sun is without God. Take note of our culture today. It is leaving the word of God out. It is culture for the Me, Myself, and I. It is not serving God but self!

 Weakened without Christ Jesus

Ephesians 2:11-13 NKJV  11 Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh---who are called the Un-circumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands---12 that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the common-wealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.

1.   We were estranged from our Creator our Father

2.   Were without a Savior, living in futility and hopelessness

What might we think of Cain: when approaching God, Cain was coming to God in his personal worthiness.....that stinks

He was not accepting of God’s way

Cain was offering to God what God had cursed, the whole ground of the earth

Cain presented the toil of his own hands:God refused it................ Anger culminated in Cain’s character......... His path was set for rage, set for the unworthy…no good purpose

We saw Christ crucified by the written word of God. We saw also that a Tomb could not hold Him. We know He held His truth to a bloody end. He cursed no one! His strength rose in peace. Men holding hate toward Him used weapons to tear His flesh.

Jesus was given a commission. He met the devil in the desert and gave him a run down of what men and women should do in daily lives.

Luke 4: 4 But Jesus answered him saying, " Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word of God. verse 8 Jesus answered and said to him, "Get behind Me Satan. for it is written you shall worship the LORD your God and Him only you shall serve."  Verse 12 And Jesus answered and said to him, "It has been said, You shall not tempt the LORD your God."

Jesus had time to worship God! He was always praying and seeking the Father's hearty. He had an unlimited greatness........................Believing Power Demonstrates Strength

Ephesians 1:18-19  Amplified Bible 18 By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light; so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones), 19 And [ so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength.

1.   Strength of God is in us who believe

2.   That strength is demonstrated through us when our eyes for seeing is flooded with His light

3.   That is our hearts must be filled with His thoughts, His ways and His plan

 Ability and Freedom

Galatians 5:5-9  Amplified Bible 5 For we, [not relying on the Law but] through the [Holy] Spirit’s [help], by faith anticipate and wait for the blessing and good for which our righteousness and right standing with God [our conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action, causes us to hope.

2.   It is not of God, for God is of truth, energized and expressed through love

Repentance is required. Worship is so important. Righteousness is not earned, it is the gift of God! Galilee represented a place of faith found in John 4:45 So when He came to Galilee, the Galileans received Him, having seen all the things He did in Jerusalem at the feast for they also had gone to the feast.

The Speech in Galilee was noted: Mark 14:70b "Surely you are one of them; for you are a Galilean, and your speech shows it."

And Pilate's cruelty toward Galileans: Luke 13:1-5   NKJV  There were present at that season some who told Him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. 2 And Jesus answered and said to them, "Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than all other Galileans because they suffered such things. " 3 "I tell you no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish."  4 "Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse sinners than all other men who dwelt in Jerusalem?"  55 "I tell you, no but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.

God is first, last and always! He is to be our love. We should know His demonstration of faith in Father God. Worship keeps us held in that secret place to give voice to His holiness and mercy! May we know the Man from Galilee who spoke and people heard. They held a faith of Him that He would return. Are we watching, waiting for His return? Will we know when the end is near? Prayer works! It worked for Jesus for the coming crucifixion and a commission to send others toward.

You might be from Washington, from Wyoming or Texas and certainly people might know where you are from. But will they also know if you believe in Jesus or hear about the next dinosaur movie! Our hearts prayer is that you stay alert. We hear Him coming! Let us worship! Okay?
