Turn to See the Voice

In listening, that hearing God speak, do we know Him in that silence? What about hearing His authority and strength while He speaks? In verse 10 of Revelation 13..the call is for endurance and faith of the saints. Faith is required ….it should be a knowing of the past faith walk in Him, that although He is neither chaotic nor is He haphazard, but the end times have been orchestrated by Him. It is you and I who are to walk like a beautiful song on a stormy day, to live in harmony with God seated in heavenly places while hell is breaking loose….on earth!

Revelation 1:12 Then I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. and having turned I saw seven golden lamp-stands, 13 & in the midst of the seven lamp-stands  One like the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet & girded about the chest with a golden band. 14 His head & hair were white like wool, as white as snow, & His eyes like a flame of fire; 15 His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace, & His voice as the sound of many waters; 16 He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength.

1.         The sun is a star that will burn out; in the new earth/new heaven, the only light will be from God Himself/Son of Man: Jesus clothed with a garment down to the feet /had a breastplate on….He is the Judge in His righteousness / faithfulness as a Priest/…Jesus is described as His head & hair white like wool/ as white as snow; Dressed in eternity as the Ancient of Days ;He carries wisdom & purity in His judgments/His eyes flames of fire; that His perfect knowledge has infallible insight /reveals nothing escapes His scrutiny… His feet like fine brass, refined in a furnace; brass consistent with judgment based on His work finished on the Cross, He sees who obeyed Him/who resisted Him.  (Voice: sound of many waters: majestic/strong & with authority)

Rev. 1:17& when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But he laid His right hand on me saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First & the Last. 18 I am He who lives & was dead, and behold I am alive forevermore. Amen. & I have the keys of Hades & of Death. 19 Write the things which you have seen, & the things which are, & the things which will take place after this.” 20 “The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in My right hand, & the 7 golden lamp-stands: The 7 stars are the angels of the 7 churches,& the 7 lamp-stands which you saw are the 7 churches.

1.         “Do not be afraid; I am the First & the Last. I am He who lives and was dead, & behold I am alive forevermore. Amen”……John fell out under the Spirit of God, but Jesus told him not to fear……Judgment will begin at the “house of God” 1 Peter 4:17 For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; & if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God? 18 Now “if the righteous one is scarcely saved, where will the ungodly & the sinner appear? “19 Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls to Him in doing good, as to a faithful Creator.

2.         7 stars are seven messengers/ they are sent to 7 churches to encourage the church to shine for God amid the darkness of the world

3.         Churches will be judged with purpose of purification and reward

4.         The world will be judged with the purpose of punishment

5.         Christ in all His perfections is the supremely qualified to judge the seven churches which are the lamp-stands and the seven stars represent those messengers delivering this message. Some say they were angels others say they would be the pastors of those churches.

John Has the Vision of the Son of Man: clothed with a garment down to the feet & girded about the chest with a golden band.

1.         This is the glorified Christ

2.         Christ touched him, He placed His hand on John and assured him that he would not die

Christ Shares His divine Glory with His followers: John 17:5-6 & v. 22 NKJV 5 and now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was. 6 I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world, they were Yours, you gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word. 22 And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one.

1.         Lives of Christians being transformed into the glorious image of God: 2 Cor. 3:18 NKJV But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

2.           Believers fully glorified at the end of time in God's heavenly presence: Ro 5:2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, & rejoice in hope of the glory of God; Col. 3:4 NKJV When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.   The glory of God will be seen everywhere :Rev 21:23 The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light.

His praise will be heard/ God’s glory will be honored as well as that audible praise will be heard seen in Rev. 5:12-13. “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power & riches and wisdom, & strength and honor, & glory & blessing!” 13 And every creature which is in heaven & on the earth & under the earth & such as are in the sea, & all that are in them, I heard saying: “Blessing & honor & glory & power be to Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever!”

The Voice of the LORD:3 The voice of the LORD is over the waters; the God of glory thunders: Psalm 24:7-10 Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. 8 Who is this King of glory?

The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. 9 Lift up your heads, O you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. 10 Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah

Psalms 24:7 Who is this King of glory? Psalm 24:8, 10 Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. 10 who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, He is the King of glory.

He is Warrior— He is the King of glory/ He is strong Lord, He is mighty Lord of battle,/the Lord of hosts: Ex 15:3  The LORD is a man of war; the LORD is His name.; Zech 14:3 Then the LORD will go forth & fight against those nations, as He fights in the day of battle. 4 & in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, Which faces Jerusalem on the east. & the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, from east to west, making a very large valley.  The same Jesus in Rev. 1 is going to step foot on earth! Majesty, mighty,  / strength. Greatness, authority and honor. GLORY!

In Closing: The Voice as the Sound of Many Waters is with us. He tells us to not fear! His fire will only bring a refining for us to become as clear as amber in His sight!  In His tender love, we are not to fear for 2021 is coming!   2 Thess. 1:7-10  NKJV  7 & to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, 8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, & on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord & from the glory of His power, 10 when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who believe, because our testimony among you was believed.    In the first chapter of Rev. we begin to see an unveiling of Jesus Christ, when He removes man from governing the earth & takes that responsibility to Himself. It is the fulfillment of the gospel message that He brought.  When Christ is revealed, the Glorified Son in the Kingdom of God will be at hand. Like Jesus, John will reveal that sword. This is good news because it contains a zealous righteous goodness! A pursuit that is active for good to mankind ,a deliberate good to bring a force of love & a justice to an entire creation when the present principalities, powers, & broken governments of men are replaced with a King who will powerfully impose all that is good upon a sin-sick world. Matured to see with spiritual eyes the brightness of His coming, His eyes of fire, & His voice heard as of many waters. For He leads us on…. into eternity! Christ is the source and donor of every gift. For that which is heard is seen…..for in Him there are over-comers indeed!

Rejuvenation and Maintenance in the Spirit

The Heavenly kingdom bestows places of honor: The Lord provides a table for us to come and eat, to come and receive………..come to eat of His body and drink of His blood………..spiritually…….Broken in remembrance  of a broken body as Christ’s body was broken, we take in remembrance that He bore sickness, weakness and pain. Jesus removed the covering of ignorance, the veil of satanic blindness……   John 17:11 Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You, Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are one.

…… Romans 8:1—6….8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, 4 that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. ( not according to our own thoughts, ideas or inclinations)    5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.  NKJV

I am amazed today of those seeking some kind of maintenance in youthful appeal. I hardly recognize those who want to look nineteen again. They are going after something long past them! Some should never go after that youthful look by men's ways of cutting away loose skin. Tightening up some of that skin makes one look scary in certain ways! And one should remember how your body is aging also. What will you do for it?

I am one that is certain that all that healthy eating and exercise can turn on you. It will not happen to all people but I do know it is more work coming back to where one is made in Jesus. It is faith believing and reaching for life in Jesus. To gain the ability to walk again when your own body fights against it. But today victory is heard in our camp. Today we stand knowing God is Lord and His truth prevails. We live not according to the flesh that sins. We live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit in mind that is life and peace.

Jesus: Messiah King is returning. As believers in His kingdom, we are to function in witness and worship: Revelation 5:10 And have made us (them) kings (a kingdom) and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth.

That Spiritual sacrifices to Him, to our God: will include bodily as well, in our possessions, our praise, and our service. Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.

Called Out of the Darkness: Isaiah 42:16 I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, and crooked places straight. These things I will do for them, and not forsake them.; Acts 26:18 …to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.

Malachi 3:1 NKJV "Behold, I send My messenger,

And he will prepare the way before Me.

And the Lord, whom you seek,

Will suddenly come to His temple,

Even the Messenger of the covenant,

In whom you delight.

Behold, He is coming,"

Says the LORD of hosts.

Jesus came to this earth as a Messenger from God the Father: "'Behold, I send My messenger, and he will prepare the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to His temple, even the Messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight. Behold, He is coming,' says the LORD of hosts" (Malachi 3:1). Two messengers are mentioned in this verse. The first is John the Baptist, who prepared the way for the second Messenger, "the Messenger of the covenant," Jesus Christ.

It is helpful to understand that, as a Messenger, He did not speak His own words. John 8:38-42 combined with John 12:49-50 confirms this. Thus, the message He brought is not primarily about Himself but about the good news of the Kingdom of God that the Father ordained to be announced on earth. This does not discount Jesus in any way because He is clearly the most important person ever to inhabit this earth. Rather, it emphasizes the fact that the gospel Jesus preached is not just about Himself.

The Kingdom of God is revealed by the Holy Spirit! The role model the Lord left us for the Church is found in the book of Acts. He didn't leave any other model. Today our congregation life is filled with programs and clutter that remove us from being anything but a "book of Acts people".

Trademark: "A distinctive feature or characteristic that serves to identify the maker or originator." Wow, what a definition. Now let's look at some of the characteristics that identify our Maker.

Acts 2 released the promise of Joel that His Spirit would be poured out on all. It is God living in us and among us. He puts His life inside us and through that life we converse and have relationship with the Father-Son-Holy Ghost.

And it shall be in the last days, God says, "That I will pour forth of My Spirit upon all mankind." Acts 2:17

God loves relationship. How are you relating to Him? Begin again to talk to God and read His Word. His life will ignite within you.

Then when the Holy Spirit brings out the signs and wonders of God: At the Gate Beautiful, a man who was lame from His mother's womb was miraculously healed. This marked the beginning of miracles through the hands of the apostles. It is a trademark left to us so that we would also operate in the miracle working ministry of Christ. Miracles are the marks of a New Testament Apostolic Church.

"The signs of a true apostle were performed among you with all perseverance, by signs and wonders and miracles." 2 Cor. 12:12

What about those dreams, visions and the prophetic of God:  Do you dream with the Lord? Did you know the Lord dreams? He releases His dreams, visions and prophetic word to His people. I have spent most of my life going after the voice of the Lord. Even to this day I long to hear Him speak. Acts 2 marks us as a people, when filled with the Holy Ghost, will have visions, dreams and prophetic words.

In mid September I had dreams and visions for three days pertaining to a planet being hit and debris flying all around it. I saw parts of a planet being changed in an instance by a strong hit.  "And your sons and daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions and your old men shall dream dreams..."Acts 2:17

I share dreams and visions when the Lord gives the okay. And we should understand that is how we are to operate. That's the way the book of Acts Church operated. Not through programs but through Dreams, Visions and the Prophetic Word given by the Holy Spirit. It is time for you to dream again.  Ask the Lord to give you His dreams, visions and prophetic words. (Note: True prophetic words, dreams and visions will be within the integrity of God's written Word.)
A Harvest is evident:
This is a signpost to us. In Acts 2, the results of His Holy Spirit being poured out was 3000 souls coming to the Lord through believing in Him. It happened again in Acts 3 with the results of 5000 coming to the Lord through the Lord healing the man at the Beautiful Gate. Let's raise the bar. This is the mark of reviva

Titus 3:1-8  NKJV   Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work, 2 to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to all men. 3
For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts, and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another. 4 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man appeared, 5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. 8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I want you to affirm constantly, that those who have believed in God should be careful to maintain good works.  These things are good and profitable to men.

This renewing in verse 5 has to do with restoration, a transformation, and a renovation! It is a heart and life change. Holy Spirit is renewing when we apply the word of God. The New Birth is revealed in each of us. It is shunning strife and factions. This "good works" is to be an authentic response to the grace that God has revealed through His Son Jesus Christ.

You know well that Charlie Kirk was he who gave daily an authentic response to this grace that God revealed through Jesus.  And people will hate you for it. There was found those who hated Jesus who desired Him to die immediately so they could continue in their place of what they coveted in honor. As this Charlie, are we standing with the word of God in our mouths?

As we near Christ's return, we should be saints professing the Kingdom of God, confessing truths that makes us saints, to awaken out of that slumber and arise to face satan! You might stand looking nineteen at 45 years of age. But where are we standing spiritually? Will our culture manipulate us to explore wild paths and ways?

Will you be blind to that of God and His way of life? There is no greater deficit in this life than one blind in their mind. Being blinded in our mind means we are darkened in thinking and become bound to the spirits of greed and lustful pleasures. In that, our lives become abhorrent to God Himself.   Is seen as one who indulges….in this day of discovery, man has freed himself of God. He readily unplugs his conscience and can do whatever his own heart desires while answering to no one else. He is the supreme god. He can change the rules if he wants. He can partake of the forbidden fruit  in that which brings them to that speaking: “I’m okay, Your okay”

He will take, take and take. He will not work or do anything for his community. His surroundings look like his heart. They REMAIN in CARNALITY….Living in Death:  Romans 8:6-7….6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be.   NKJV

God is not chaos .. Holy Spirit was hovering over the face of the deep in the Beginning.......He was bringing order quickly

Expressing NO LOVE FOR OTHERS….they Will not and cannot love others as God does not abide in them…1 John 4:12 -13    12 No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us. 13 By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.  NKJV

No face-lift can help you get to heaven. There is no thing man can do that can get you to heaven.  No good works will be acceptable into that entrance. But the Blood of the Lamb, staying in prayer with Christ and applying the Holy Word to your life as you read it, will bring the holy life. Do not depart from the faith! In these latter days, deceptive spirits and false teachings will manipulate and deceive believers. But we have been given the Holy Spirit!  Stand as we have seen others before us: as Charlie Kirk. Stand in the goodness of God. Believe you receive His kingdom today. Believe you have been maintained by the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit!

Believe if you leave this world today, you will stand with Christ in heaven!

A Judge for in the Time of Turmoil

Do we weed out those negative pictures of ourselves, you know the ones that seem to add fat to the face, or to the waist, or those that appear to make the nose look the Rock of Gibraltar? Or how about those pics that make you look like someone you never met before? You know, you have to ask who is the woman in the center of the picture and it turns out to be you! We would feel comfortable with that which at least looks like us and not some creature thing from a swamp, right?

No one wants to be cast into a negative light of any kind! Yet, we find the people of Israel in a negative place. And that light of negativity was due to rampant sin!

The people had been drifting away spiritually coming to a place of experiencing God’s judgment. AND this is well seen when other nations come to dominate their potential existence in that place. In the book of Judges you can see Gideon who is down in a wine vat threshing out wheat for his family. Yes, those who ravaged the land came to take whatever crops had been harvested, and Gideon and his tribe hid that wheat in the grape vat. Yikes! ( makes you wonder where they put the grapes, right?)

Waking up to the things of God in hearing Him and obeying takes a repentant heart! It is choosing to do right according to God and not to man’s idea of being right! A leader raised up in this time was Deborah. She stands out in spiritual leadership as well as in her civil leadership.

READING Judges 4:4-10 NKJV 4 Now Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, was judging Israel at that time. 5 And she would sit under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the mountains of Ephraim. And the children of Israel came up to her for judgment. 6 Then she sent and called for Barak the son of Abinoam from Kedesh in Naphtali, and said to him, “Has not the LORD God of Israel commanded, ‘Go and deploy troops at mount Tabor; take with you ten thousand men of the sons of Naphtali and of the sons of Zebulun; 7 ‘and against you I will deploy Sisera, the commander of Jabin’s army, with his chariots and his multitude at the River Kishon; and I will deliver him into your hand?” 8 And Barak said to her: “If you will go with me, then I will go; but if you will not go with me, I will not go!” 9 So she said, “I will surely go with you; nevertheless there will be no glory for you in the journey you are taking, for the LORD will sell Sisera into the hand of a woman.” Then Deborah arose and went with Barak to Kedesh. 10 And Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh; he went up with ten thousand men under his command, and Deborah went up with him.

Deborah was the available and the wise: A. Service as a Judge: Judges 4: 4. And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time. 5 And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.

The military prowess of his rule was an enemy that would be significant in dealing with according to a military action.

In Judges 4:3 And the children of Israel cried out to the LORD; for Jabin had nine hundred chariots of iron, and for twenty years he had harshly oppressed the children of Israel. To defeat this Jabin and those with him would take something that could override the normal seen in war. His relentless attitude toward God’s people was such an oppression that they thought it would never end.

Deborah's coming to the position as a judge in Israel came about as seen in Judges 4:1 when the death of Ehud  appeared. The people were back once again in sin. And sin brings with its oppression multiplied by the consequences of that “sin”.

Deborah: remarkable! She was a prophetess, a wife and a judge. She was married, known as a leader and a woman of faith. She was also known as a poet. “She was a mother in Israel.”

a.       Her husband was Lappidoth (Judges 4:4) although nothing is known of her husband, we are told his name and she was his wife.

b.       She loved God, and she obeyed

c.       She was a remarkable witness due to the time period she lived. The book of Judges was a time for Israel that was characterized by idolatry, defeat and disobedience

d.       Deborah became Judge at the time of when Jabin was king of Canaan (he oppressed the Israelites for 20 years.

e.       As a Judge, she was a discerner and declaration to the mind of God. She ministered in His wisdom, knowledge and instruction.

f.       Remarkable wisdom: gained through her humble path of service. She was not the aggressive or assertive. She was appointed by God!

g.       She was submissive to her husband and to those in leadership.

h.       Deborah: waited on God, always encouraged others to lead and assisted when needed. And when they refused, she went into battle with them!

Deborah’s position was the title “Judge”. It is bringing into right relationship which also meant having that spiritual dimension. Her civil tasks that she would function in was in administration, to the settlement of disputes or like issues and then to military leadership. We know that she was called a prophetess and this would certainly distinguish her from other judges. No others were given this designation as she had.

We know that her responsibilities were set in the cities of Raman and Bethel. These being few miles from Jerusalem, we are also told that she held court under a Palm Tree.  ( I often wonder if she was ever bitten by the spiders that make their homes there)

Deborah as the Messenger is given by the LORD direction to give to Barak. From verses 6-7: 6  NKJV 6 Then she sent and called for Barak the son of Abinoam from Kedesh in Naphtali, and said to him, “Has not the LORD God of Israel commanded, ‘Go and deploy troops at Mount Tabor; take with you ten thousand men of the sons of Naphtali and of the sons of Zebulun; 7 ‘and against you I will deploy Sisera, the commander of Jabin’s army, with his chariots and his multitude at the River Kishon; and I will deliver him into your hand?”

The instructions of the LORD are important and one with the hearing and obeying heart will heed them! So the LORD could speak through the mouth of the prophetess. Connection is made between Barak and the Judge Deborah. Upon his arrival, Barak notices the specifics of Deborah's message for him. There are no generalities which could lead to insecurity or to the wrong actions for she had laid out God's plan for him. Victory is guaranteed. Barak simply needed to apply himself to the instruction and fulfill it. The instruction was as he was directed toward Mount Tabor, a stronghold that would be of great advantage in that location for a military meeting!

The instructions further state the size of the military force and from which tribes they are to come. Since the regions being oppressed are Naphtali and Zebulun, it's only logical they should be the ones to participate in the deliverance. BUT to gather such a great size of men to make this force work, Barak had to know those he could mobilize for the occupation in that region. And the PROMISE: “ I will deliver him into your hand!”

Deborah gave the specific plan of the Lord. Sisera would be lured into a situation which would bring about his defeat. In order to attack Barak's forces, the enemy chariots would need to cross the plain through which the River Kishon flowed. In the original language of these scriptures, the word for river literally means "torrent bed." The Kishon would flow when flash flooding took place. The Lord always clearly gives His instruction so that they are not misunderstood. No, God was doing this mighty work, and Sisera would fall into Israel’s hands.

Have you ever been given a word and then wondered how it could come to pass? Is it possible for God to pull off such a ploy here to bring victory to Israel? Is God even in our plan of hearing the next step into this day and hour? Crazy things are going on in the world and you and I both require to hear Him so that He directs our way into His light, truth and peace!

Sometimes, when things we pray for do not turn out like we thought they should have been :Luke 22: 42….take this cup from me; nevertheless  Not my will but Yours be done.  Help me discern Your will for my life. If I live in the flesh, I cannot please God. (Romans 8:8) Father, I pray my eyes are opened to Your truth about this which was planned but did not come to pass. I thank You for revelation from You that gives me insight that I do not have but am asking about this planned event. I understand that the kingdom of God cannot be understood without revelation from God, so I call to You and You will answer and show me great and mighty things which I do not know. (Jeremiah 33:3) I know You will reveal that which concerns me.

LORD, I submit to James 4:7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Lord, I will not live by lies but only truth of Your word that is revealed through me. I submit my work, this tribulation and the outcome to You today & ask YOU to infuse it with Your life, Your power & productivity. I ask YOU for a super flow of Your Spirit through me in this specific day that will enable me to be more creative in the process. I ask You what YOU desire me to do so that good fruit is produced in my life.

In the submission to God’s plan:  Deborah goes with Barak to the battle…..Judges 4:10-24  NKJV  10  And Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh;  he went up with ten thousand men under his command: and Deborah went up with him.

11  Now Heber the Kenite, of the children of Hobab the father in law of Moses, had separated himself from the Kenites, and pitched his tent near the terebinth tree at Zaanaim, which is by Kedesh. 12 And they reported Sisera that Barak the son of Abinoam was gone up to mount Tabor. 13 So Sisera gathered together all his chariots, even nine hundred chariots of iron, and all the people wo were with him, from Harosheth Hagoyim to the River Kishon. 14 Then Deborah said to Bark, “Up!  For this is the day in which the LORD has delivered Sisera into your hand. Has not the LORD gone before you?” So Bark went down from Mount Tabor with ten thousand men following him.

15  And the Lord routed Sisera, and all his chariots, and all of his army with the edge of the sword before Barak; so that Sisera alighted off his chariot, and fled away on foot. 16  But Barak pursued the chariots, and the army as far as Harosheth Hagoyim: and all the army of Sisera fell by the edge of the sword; not a man was left. 17 However, Sisera had fled away on foot to the tent of Jael, the wife of Heber the Kenite; for there was peace between Jabin king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite. 18 And Jael went out to meet Sisera, and said to him, “Turn aside, my lord, turn aside to me; do not fear.” And when he had turned aside with her into the ten, she covered him with a blanket. 19 Then he said to her, “Please give me a little water to drink for I am thirsty.” So she opened a jug of milk, gave him a drink and covered him. 20 And he said to her, “Stand at the door of the tent, and if any man comes and inquires of you and says, “Is there any man here?” you shall say, ‘NO’.”

21 Then Jael, Heber’s wife, took a tent peg and took a hammer in her hand, and went softly to him and drove the peg into his temple and it went down into the ground; for he was fast asleep and weary. So he died. 22 And then, as Barak pursued Sisera, Jael came out to meet him and said to him, “Come, I will show you the man whom you seek.” And when he went into her tent, there lay Sisera, dead with the peg in his temple. 23 So on that day God subdued Jabin king of Canaan in the presence of the children of Israel. 24 And the hand of the children of Israel grew stronger and stronger against Jabin king of Canaan, until they had destroyed Jabin king of Canaan.

Indicating he would go with the plan, he did not hesitate to say that he did not want to go alone in this matter. If she did not go, he would not go either! She did not lambaste him, but he agreed. She pointed to the truth that there would be no personal honor for him in this victory. He could lead, gather the forces into battle, but he would have no acclaim to Sisera’s death.

The timing was perfect. Sisera moved his forces toward the mountain and to the River Kishon. God had given the prophetess the instruction and she gave the signal to begin. Barak led his men down the mountain. When God is allowed in our circumstances, the enemy will be scattered. He causes them to become confused to fight among themselves. The very point this was sent at the River Kishon proved to be a muddy situation in the relentless pursuit. Not one of Sisera’s men stayed alive. Sisera leaves the battle, runs away from the pursuers to find a way out.

Sisera so confused, finds the wrong place to rest. Coming into the tent of Jael the wife of Heber, she shows him safety and that place to rest. Alas his downfall has come. He receives the covering of the rug and drinks the milk only to fall asleep to his own doom.

And the ending: well, Jael receives the honor! She overcame the enemy. And Judges 5 displays a praise sang by Deborah, the Judge in Israel and Barak: Then sang Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam on that day, saying, 2 When leaders lead in Israel, when the people willingly offer themselves, Bless the LORD! 3 Hear, O  kings!  Give ear, O princes!:  I, even I, will sing to the Lord; I will sing praise to the Lord God of Israel.  4 Lord, when You went out from Seir, when You marched from the field of Edom, the earth trembled, and the heavens poured, the clouds also poured water; 5 The mountains gushed before the Lord, This Sinai, from before the Lord God of Israel. 6 In the days of Shamgar, son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the highways were deserted, and the travelers walked along the byways. 7 Village life ceased. It ceased in Israel, until I, Deborah arose, arose a mother in Israel.

Deborah, the Judge in Israel, found her feet on the battlefield. A leader called by God to see victory come and not to a man! Praise came! The Lord had avenged Israel and the oppression and bondage was removed. Those willing and obedient will eat the good of the land. It is the Prophetess that describes the Lord’s presence in the battle marching from Mount Seir in Edom bringing a rainstorm, a super storm having all kinds of elements to stop an oppressive leader, would be sung about as God intervened so decisively in the lives of His people.

Going Out to See

Are we going out to see, because we have to run errands? Are we going out to see, because we heard something going on? Or are we going out to see just because we can!
Luke 7:24-35
24 After John's messengers left, Jesus began to speak to the crowd about John: "What did you go out into the desert to see? A reed swayed by the wind? 25 If not, what did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes? No, those who wear expensive clothes and indulge in luxury are in palaces. 26 But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet. 27 This is the one about whom it is written:

"'I will send my messenger ahead of you,
who will prepare your way before you.'

28 I tell you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John; yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he."

29(All the people, even the tax collectors, when they heard Jesus' words, acknowledged that God's way was right, because they had been baptized by John. 30 But the Pharisees and experts in the law rejected God's purpose for themselves, because they had not been baptized by John.)

31 "To what, then, can I compare the people of this generation? What are they like? 32 They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling out to each other:

"'We played the flute for you,
and you did not dance;
we sang a dirge,
and you did not cry.'

33 For John The Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, 'He has a demon.' 34 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, 'Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and "sinners." ' 35 But wisdom is proved right by all her children."
NIV

Going out to see! Taking a real look in the here and now of protests, marches, and many gatherings with many speakers, it is quite an endeavor for those participating. But what did you go out to see?
You can hear all kinds of stories for going out to see! And sometimes those who want to go "see" find themselves in the middle of "harm's way"!

In the time of John the Baptist, people came to hear him speak. He spoke of the kingdom that had come. He talked of the one who was right behind him, and whose sandals he could not lace up.
John had a real relationship with God. He recognized Jesus when He came, and he proved to walk with faith much like Jesus. Severe indeed is the walk John had with the Lord. It cost him his head.
There is a day coming if you read the Bible and it's description of latter day happenings is detailed, but those who love God are the secure.
Those (people) who come in later after the tribulation has started, well, they will have a greater and straighter walk in salvation to walk, and yes, by reading that walk will cost greatly!
Yes, many speakers speak today. They call up marches, and more protests. And if they find no one listening, they keep moving till they find someone who will hear them. Peace will always look like peace done in peaceful ways. But chaos still presents more chaos and sometimes harm and great violence to some or to many people!

I came from a large family and that most of the siblings related to my dad all lived fairly close to one another. They lived in the same town for many years. For us, our family appeared as the 'black sheep" of that family. Not sure why that happened. They are awesome people. They worked hard just like we did. Well, we came to live there when the elder family leader was in poor health.  In that short time of high school period, we came to reside in the same town only to leave again. Our lives surely changed. And in the case of divorces, and of "grown" family,.......you would say "grown", proved our family did not exist in the way it had previous decades to 1970. And in that divorce, the family I knew was sent into 4 different directions.

In our married life, my husband and I encountered many moves. In our first years away from the "home" after our high school years, we encountered a couple of the big cities. And in that encounter we also encountered what would be: long lines of vehicles to get gas for a gas shortage that was on-going in the mid seventies. Then the meat cutters went on strike. And then around the meat cutter's "thing", the dairy folks followed suit. Yes, 4 a.m. it was to "be there" in line to put gas in car, only to leave there and get to the grocery store where crossing lines seemed endless just get to get that gallon of milk that was possibly delivered by "scabs"! NO, we did not call them that. And we certainly prayed for their safety, those men who kept working to deliver all milk products to the grocery stores of that great city. Yes there were those who continued to work, and deliver milk through all obstacles of picket lines, barriers, loud voices, mega phones and the such. Our daughter was barely two and we were making sure she had some meat and some milk. Of course, today giving anyone milk is hazardous. Many people have come to find that they have some kind of lactose intolerance. Well, we still have half and half served here. And it is good in hot cereal!

Going out to see is really living life! In any part of this great country, you can and will come in contact with the most fascinating people. But going out just to see what is going on can prove down right bad for some.  And in some cases, some may just get caught up in what is going on in that which goes viral on the Internet or on T.V.  Being sucked in by so many emotions flaring at once can prove so detrimental to many people.

Crossing those lines can mean life and death to some. Still in the time of Jesus, they faced many opportunities that was hazardous to the health of a person.  Taking sides is important in that we stay with Him Who created and planned. Holding firm to His hand and finding our place is vital. And in it we discover what is important and what is just passing. People can be so funny at times and then be so painfully hurt and so needy the next.
In writing this today, I think of those who hid out when Jesus had been resurrected and took His place in heaven. He appeared and was alive. He had to go into locked houses and rooms to get to the people who knew Him probably the best.
Men hid out when Jesus was put in the tomb. But a woman, Mary by name, came to push a big stone out of the way. Yet, when she arrived the stone was moved. Amazing how God helps you even in the midst of trials. Women were coming to wrap Jesus up, and His body was not found. Amazement! Yes. Problems.....for the military, yes.
Our finding peace in a chaotic world is only found in Jesus. Jesus came to get involved. He did not come to accommodate our culture. He did come to set up His kingdom.

In the time of John the Baptist you find a man on fire to preach about His coming. In that same mode, you find many coming to receive and ready tell others of the "same coming One".
Jesus and John knew the same kingdom. John recognized Jesus as the Coming One! And the religious community showed up to make a comment about it.
It was in the wilderness, it was rugged, and dusty. A river flowed through it and many a man, woman and child stepped into that icy water to "repent" for their sins.

When was the last "call" for repentance at your church? Does anyone talk about it anymore? Is it not a part of the service any more?
In raising families in this century, it will be done in detail that will bring praise to God and His name. Yes lines will be crossed. What barriers are across in your thoroughfare?
Lines must be crossed in those areas that present work at home and work outside. People must provide meals for their loved ones and cross lines that present maybe danger. And the woman, the mother will cross any barriers to keep children out of harm. And she will not deliberately send her child out to the mouth's of lions. A woman will do what it takes to protect the children.
In our way, we see it in prayer. We can reach so many with His Word. We can touch hearts in prayer today by just pleading the Blood of Jesus over our sisters and brother's in Christ. Going to look to find "danger", to find "the chaotic" is just wrong. Society involves a whole group of individuals with different backgrounds and different lives!

Whether it was stormy on the day you were born or just a sunny day should not matter what affects your life today. Many things can and will occur in our lifetimes. The oil glut hit the U.S. many times. But the 70's ring more of get in line at 4 am, please, than say the 80's ever did. Yet, I meet people from time to time that can tell me how they and theirs was impacted by something such as an oil glut in the eighties! At some point some lines were crossed.
But going out to take care of your own, is not about taking from anyone else. And in the case of Jesus and His body, well the gang showed up to wrap His body for burial. BUT IT WAS NOT NEEDED!

Jesus moved throughout the community and region to tell of His father's love and how people had to believe Him to be the One sent. Salvation was present!

John met the "travelers", he met the poor and possibly those inferior to the palace life IN THE CITY. In this "kingdom" Jesus considered those in the background, those considered as Mary Wallpaper, the hidden, the unwanted. The clearest evidence we have is that the religious men of that day refused the baptism John performed in the Jordan River. They were not giving up their positions to Jesus or John or anyone like them! YIKES!
ALL THEY NEEDED TO DO WAS CROSS A LINE FOR SALVATION AND LIVE FOREVER WITH JESUS!

Jesus concluded with this:
Luke 7:31-35
31 "To what, then, can I compare the people of this generation? What are they like? 32 They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling out to each other:

"'We played the flute for you,
and you did not dance;
we sang a dirge,
and you did not cry.'

33 For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, 'He has a demon.' 34 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, 'Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and "sinners." ' 35 But wisdom is proved right by all her children." NIV

For one group they desired the wedding party. They desired to party! For the other group, well, they came to mourn and be sorrowful, in (life) it is a funeral to them. For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine and they considered him demonic.
The amplified Bible has it this way: The son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, Behold, a Man Who is a glutton and a wine drinker, a friend of tax collectors and notorious sinners. Yet wisdom is vindicated (show to be true and divine) by all her children [their life, character, and deeds].

Joining with others to worship God is commanded in the Word. To join in bringing information is wonderful, but joining to bring chaos and death is not right, is not the given, and is not of God. God is peace and in His Light we will see light. And His light dispels darkness that may be covering our eyes.

I close with this. Had this dream: went into a church building. Was asked,"what can I do you for?"
And saw the young man had something like a rainbow color of match sticks in his hand.
I asked him, "what are you talking about?"
He responds raising up his match sticks...........and he was proud of those sticks.
Well, he said,  holding up a green stick. ""This is green for doing nothing.." "So with this color you should go and be seated in service."
He holds up the blue match stick. "With this, he said, "you have the 20 minute Message". "follow your way that way to the blue stick".
He then held the yellow........"this is for the Sunday School .....30 minutes now," "and you have worship, sprinkled with Word and song/giving.
"But I have only a few of the yellow sticks left. ' "I have three green sticks left and only one of the brown.........."that is for security".

"LOTS of the men like to grab the brown for security and walk the parking lot for an hour or two."
I replied, "really?"
Then he holds up another color. "ORANGE, yeah man, this is Worship". We have very few of those sticks left as well."
Then he holds the purple colored stick. "This is for prayer....before service and after service." We have lots of prayer sticks in purple!"

THEN HE URGES ME TO PICK A SPOT AND MOVE TO THAT PLACE!
Our going to church should not be exactly like going to war. It should NOT be like finding our niche' in just getting through a church service. CROSSING LINES is moving into areas the devil will not go. Crossing lines is about obeying God and doing it no matter how it sounds. AND IT WILL ALWAYS BE OF ORDER AND WITHOUT SWEAT AND WORRY.
IF you worry, then you must find more time to turn to God and fine tune your hearing. It is not about finding where the latest craze has hit the internet, but what you can do to pray for our community, our state and our nation to continue to become all that God intended and it is not to find the orange match stick of worship. Every step we take with God, every decision of our heart should be to influence others to partake in seeing and hearing God: not in rituals or with the "buds" but because we go to honor God where He desires us to be.
Wisdom is vindicated (show to be true and divine) by all her children [their life, character, and deeds]. To worship Him, is to be in spirit and in truth. Our life, our character, and our deeds will certainly shine out for we are on the Lord's side!
Are you on the Lord's side?
