The Mud Runner or Walking on Water

In preparing this the last few days, I spent reading Jesus' prayer in John 17. He prayed for those who would believe. And is our belief in Him or the stock market? Is our faith in Jesus or the world's songs, world's people, idols that carry no life nor breath in them, and do we follow that which is wrong indeed.

So today we choose: to be a believer and be mud runner or believe and walk on water. Thought of Moses and  Aaron who were sent.  Moses sent to speak to Pharaoh. But he felt he was no speaker and asked if Aaron could go with him to be the "speaker". . After they led Israel out from the Pharaoh of Egypt, they faced the Red Sea.  Fear striking on every nerve of each person, they are the consumed in anxiety!  Pharaoh's military was coming quickly from behind them. God told Moses to lift his staff and tell the people to cross. The waters divided and they walked over on dry land!

Later in the Old Testament,  Abram appeared. Told to leave his family behind and take his wife to the place God called them to live. And he went but he took some family members with him. Ultimately Abram's belief became the trust in God. He had to believe that God could change his name, he would have an heir and it would be God's design and not the flesh of man. Abram now called Abraham was known for His faith. He would be the "father" of many. But the idols had to be removed from him.

Reading on him, we find this in Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Proverbs 19:21 There are many plans in a man's heart nevertheless the Lord's counsel that will stand.

In the New Testament, Jesus and John the Baptist came. John announced the coming of the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Jesus, the Man of prayer, gave us the example for our lives to be lived out.

Father to the Son, the Son to the Father….1.       Abiding:

John 15:5. 5 I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. NKJV

John 17:20-23……………..20 "My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me 23  I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. NIV

 2.       As Children to abide:Matthew 18:1-5

18:1 At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, "Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" 2 Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, 3 and said, "Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me.   NKJV

After Jesus, the Apostle Paul wrote 2/3 of New Testament and it was faith that was sent out to those who hear! He taught others to know Jesus by faith.

So we have examples of Abraham and Apostle Paul.  Like what Martin Luther King spoke in a speech in 1963: His desire was for his children to live by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin. So many today get his message wrong. They want things their way. Some want God's people removed entirely so they can do away with the book of Revelation. Then prove God wrong and His book null.

Paul the Apostle brought greetings saying in verse 2 (Philippians) Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. in Philippians 4:6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.

In each of these people, they had to live by their faith in God! They showed us their real lives with real situations which can only be lived in His peace when relating in prayer and worship to Him our God. Without prayer we flounder. We should choose the treasure of His counsel rather the trash of world's way of drugs and more drugs.

Here prayer brings us to see spiritually things God has for us. It could be a new position in a job, getting a study in nursing when we never thought of it. We could be an inventor and invent things for God's glory!

Now let's look at the mud runner Elijah!1 Kings 18:41-46.......................41 Then Elijah said to Ahab, "Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain." 42 So Ahab went up to eat and drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; then he bowed down on the ground, and put his face between his knees, 43 and said to his servant, "Go up now, look toward the sea." So he went up and looked, and said, "There is nothing." And seven times he said, "Go again." 44 Then it came to pass the seventh time, that he said, "There is a cloud, as small as a man's hand, rising out of the sea!" So he said, "Go up, say to Ahab, 'Prepare your chariot, and go down before the rain stops you.' " 45 Now it happened in the meantime that the sky became black with clouds and wind, and there was a heavy rain. So Ahab rode away and went to Jezreel. 46 Then the hand of the LORD came upon Elijah; and he girded up his loins and ran ahead of Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel. NKJV

Elijah prayed for rain to begin. He kept watch and prayed......and the rain came. It came quickly and with the new moisture on the ground, mud appeared. It was everywhere!  The sky turned dark with clouds. The wind blew and heavy rain appeared.  So warned. King Ahab drove away riding in his chariot with two horses.  The hand of the Lord came upon Elijah and he girded his loins....he was ready to run.
A distance of 25 miles, Elijah ran in the mud! Hand of the Lord is Holy Spirit....revelation and light! Born again we have Holy Spirit.  We pray for rain but mud will appear. If we pray God's will, we can expect His ways!
By Faith he prayed and believed: "There is the sound of an abundance of rain."   Spiritually we know by revelation knowledge.

THE God of Love, who gave His only Son, gifted us to become the sons of God. It was by grace that we are saved. That has given us opportunity to express gratitude, to spend time with Him and to know the Creator of all things. He who gives such a life should be feared.

Jesus was ruled not by His flesh but by His spirit man. He gained strength in staying connected to His Father through the Word that brings truth and life to our mortal being. He chose the treasure of God and the assignment to the Cross.

You and I will not take the Cross Jesus did, but we will face situations especially in prayer, that knowing God is for us, rain will fall and mud will appear.   We can run through that rain and mud. We can run fast through any thing that tries to stop us.  Or we can choose to walk on the water of His word and see His kingdom come.

The sky is certainly getting darker and men's heart match this very thing too.  Jesus died and the ground shook. The curtain in the temple was split from the top to the bottom. Prayer works!

Who do people say that you are: for Jesus.....the Son of God, for Paul who trusted Jesus to his death, he was an apostle and not Pharisee as before, for Elijah, he went up in a fiery chariot up into the sky, Abraham is known today by his faith in God, his prayer for Lot and family when Sodom and Gomorrah would be destroyed. Moses place of burial is only known by God. John the Baptist had a rough end. But truth was found on his lips to the end!

We are those who have chosen the treasure of God, light and revelation in Jesus and power by Holy Spirit. We see His plan, abide in His glory and are seated in heavenly places with Jesus.

Hey, ask me I know the way to get there...........Amen!

Ridding the Jezebel Spirit

Elijah Finds the Hiding Place. He has heard Jezebel speak about him and he fears her by running to a Cave and lodged in it. And behold, the word of the Lord came to him, & He said to him, 'What are you doing here, Elijah?' He said, 'I have been very jealous for the Lord, the God of hosts. For the people of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, thrown down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword, &  I, even I only, am left, & they seek my life, to take it away.' And He said, "Go out and stand on the mount before the Lord." And behold, the Lord passed by, & a great and strong wind tore the mountains and broke in pieces the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. & after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. And after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire the sound of a low whisper. And when Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his cloak & went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. And behold, there came a voice to him and said, 'What are you doing here, Elijah?' He said, 'I have been very jealous for the Lord, the God of hosts. For the people of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, thrown down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword, and I, even I only, am left, and they seek my life, to take it away.' And the Lord said to him, 'Go, return on your way to the wilderness of Damascus. And when you arrive, you shall anoint Hazael to be king over Syria. And Jehu the son of Nimshi you shall anoint to be king over Israel, and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel-meholah you shall anoint to be prophet in your place.'" 1 Kings 19:9-16 ESV

1.   Elijah was lost & low in depression: Lord's questions were not an indication that He was clueless about Elijah's geographical location for surely He knew exactly where Elijah was, but, the Lord's questions were unequivocally an attempt to speak into Elijah's misplaced identity. Taking place on Mount Horeb, or more popularly known as Mount Sinai, the very mountain where the Lord encountered Moses in another dramatic theophany, complete with pyrotechnics & violent shaking of the mountain, & gave Moses the 10 Commandments

2.   Surely, in spite of his depressed state, Elijah was aware of the history of the event & the power of God that descended on that mountain. Elijah was experiencing the power of God on the same mountain.   The point of God's demonstration of the forces of nature is presumably that Elijah would answer the same question differently on the 2nd  occasion. Alas, his answer the same..”I have been very jealous for the Lord, the God of hosts. For the people of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, thrown down Your altars, & killed Your prophets with the sword, & I, even I only, am left, & they seek my life, to take it away."1 Kings 19:14

Elijah was floundering in fear to a woman! What happened to his faith? He was out giving her false prophets a whipping when coming to knowing God and that He answers. In that case, it was by fire.

1 Kings 19:13 And after the fire the sound of a low whisper.

1.   When asked by God why he Elijah was in this cave, he replies as before: 'I have been very jealous for the Lord, the God of hosts. For the people of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, thrown down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword, and I, even I only, am left, and they seek my life, to take it away.

2.   But God spoke: 'Go, return on your way to the wilderness of Damascus. And when you arrive, you shall anoint Hazael to be king over Syria. And Jehu the son of Nimshi you shall anoint to be king over Israel, and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel-meholah you shall anoint to be prophet in your place.

3.   Do we hear anything of Elisha the son Shaphat of Abel-meholah?

4.   Do we hear anything about Jehu the son of Nimshi? Or how about Hazael when becoming king over Syria?

Elijah the fearful wraps his face in his cloak as he step to the entrance of the cave. He hears God speak and his answer ready: , 'I have been very jealous for the Lord, the God of hosts. For the people of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, thrown down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword, and I, even I only, am left, and they seek my life, to take it away.

Instructions come to Elijah: , 'Go, return on your way to the wilderness of Damascus. And when you arrive, you shall anoint Hazael to be king over Syria. And Jehu the son of Nimshi you shall anoint to be king over Israel, and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel-meholah you shall anoint to be prophet in your place.

We are told that when Hazael comes to be king of Syria: he shall make bloody work among the people (2 Kings 8:12) and so correct them for their idolatry."

Hazael  anointed king of Syrian by Elijah 1 Kings 19:15-17

The strong wind may be a figure of the work of judgment which Hazael of Syria would perform in Israel (2 Kings. 8:12 and 10:32-36).

The Solution: King Jehu and His Warrior Anointing……….Insight from 2 Kings 9:7-10:  "'You [Jehu] shall strike the house of Ahab your master, that I may avenge the blood of My servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the LORD, at the hand of Jezebel. For the whole house of Ahab shall perish, and I will cut off from Ahab every male person both bond and free in Israel. I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah. The dogs shall eat Jezebel in the territory of Jezreel, and none shall bury her.' Then he opened the door and fled." (emphasis mine)

    1. Jezebel is empowered by Ahab's passivity. But in the midst of this, the Lord always has a solution. In the heat of the battle, Jehu, who is anointed as one of the three successors of Elijah, is called to strike down Jezebel and Ahab's entire lineage, legacy and household.

Insight from 2 Kings 9:22: "When Joram saw Jehu, he said, 'Is it peace, Jehu?' And he answered, 'What peace, so long as the harlotries of your mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many?'"

    1. Jehu, whose name means, "Yahweh is God," discerns the roots: witchcraft and idolatry. Rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and arrogance (stubbornness, insubordination) is as iniquity and idolatry (see 1 Samuel 15:23).

    2. Jehu not only discerns the roots, he does not partake of the false appeasement by which Jezebel operated.

Insight from 2 Kings 9:30-31: "When Jehu came to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it, and she painted her eyes and adorned her head and looked out the window. As Jehu entered the gate, she said, 'Is it well, Zimri, your master's murderer?'"

     1. Jezebel uses seduction and sexual manipulation and payoffs to control men. When that does not work, she uses shame, scorn and arrogance.  Insight from 2 Kings 9:32-33: "Then he lifted up his face to the window and said, 'Who is on my side? Who?' And two or three officials looked down at him. He said, 'Throw her down.' So they threw her down, and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall and on the horses, and he trampled her under foot."

     2. Jehu confronts without fear, as he knows his sphere of authority. Jezebel was not conquered by Elijah but by the kingly anointing of the next generation under Jehu.

Insight from 2 Kings 9:34-37: "Remember, every mess is an opportunity for God's next miracle."

"When he came in, he ate and drank; and he said, 'See now to this cursed woman and bury her, for she is a king's daughter.' They went to bury her, but they found nothing more of her than the skull and the feet and the palms of her hands. Therefore they returned and told him. And he said, 'This is the word of the LORD, which He spoke by His servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, "In the property of Jezreel the dogs shall eat the flesh of Jezebel; and the corpse of Jezebel will be as dung on the face of the field in the property of Jezreel, so they cannot say, 'This is Jezebel.'"'"

    1. Jehu operates under a fierce warrior anointing. Jezebel's destruction was so complete that she was unrecognizable.

 For Elisha the sword of the Spirit of God: Jeremiah 48:44, He that flees from the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that gets up out of the pit shall be taken in the snare. Elisha, with the sword of the Spirit, shall terrify and wound the consciences of those who escape Hazael's sword of war and Jehu's sword of justice. With the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked, Isa 11:4; 2 Thessalonians 2:8;

2.   He would also terrify those who escaped Jehu’s sword of justice.

3.   These would continue the work Elijah was to do!

When Elisha was called:  1 Kings 19: 19 So he departed from there and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him and he was with the twelve. Then Elijah passed by him and threw his mantle on him. 20 and he left the oxen and ran after Elijah, and said, “Please let me kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow you.” And he said to him, “Go back again, for what have I done to you?” 21 So Elisha turned back from him, and took a yoke of oxen and slaughtered them and boiled their flesh , using the oxen’s equipment and gave it to the people and they ate. Then he arose and followed Elijah, and became his servant.

Elisha prophesying Hazael taking the throne:  2 Kings:  8: 7-15

Hazael Oppresses Israel found in 2 Kings 8:28-29, 2 Kings 10: 32-36; 2 Kings 12:17-18; 2 Kings 13:3-7, 22

The earthquake may be a figure of judgment and revolution under Jehu that would destroy the house of Ahab (2 Kings. 9:1-10).

The fire, a picture of the work of judgment completed by Elisha, Elijah’s successor (1 Kings. 19:17).

Elijah thought it beneficial to challenge the Baal prophets. He felt the great display of his God’s might and the silence of Baal would touch and lead the people into repenting and forgoing the idol worship. He was doing the will of God. The people were indeed impressed by the show and force exhibited by God, but they quickly returned to idol worship thereafter.

This quick return to idolatry greatly saddened Elijah who retreated to the wilderness under a juniper tree. Elijah now in a pity part of his own was told by the Lord: 1 Kings 19:11: “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.” Then, scripture tells us, “a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake.”

Following these and other physical acts, the Lord spoke to Elijah in a “still small voice” which instructed Elijah to return on the way to Damascus and anoint Hazael to be king over Syria and to "Also, anoint Jehu son of Nimshi king over Israel, and anoint Elisha son of Shaphat from Abel Meholah to succeed you as prophet." (1 Kings 19:15-16)

God still speaks in a “small still voice.” To hear God’s voice, we have to be still with a clear mind.

1.   2 Peter 2:1, “But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who brought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. ”

2.    He continues in 2 Peter 2:2 with, “Many will follow their depraved conduct and will bring the way of truth into disrepute.”

3.   Jezebel had a detrimental effect on every institution of which she was involved. She ruined both the personal and political life of her husband king Ahab and led the spiritual downfall of the Israeli people.

4.   Similarly, the spirit of Jezebel that is evidenced today seeks to defile the believer spiritually and physically. A Jezebel spirit endorses the lusts of the flesh and neglects the worship of our Lord in spirit and in truth. Her ways are false and fraudulent, yet cunning and believable for those who are susceptible. Staying vigilant in your commitment to, knowledge of, and pursuit of God’s sovereignty over your life, work, family, and society can help protect you from a ‘Jezebel’ influence.

Jezebel in her abominable acts: 1 Kings 18:4, 13 , 1 Kings 19: 1-2; 1 Kings 21: 1-16 Her death prophesied and fulfilled: 1 Kings 21:23 and 2 Kings 9:7, 30-37

Staying vigilant in your commitment to, knowledge of, and pursuit of God’s sovereignty over your life, work, family, and society can help protect you from a ‘Jezebel’ influence.

The following is a brief review of 10 significant characteristics of the Jezebel spirit to lay a foundation on which to build. In this primary historical account found in Scripture, 1 Kings 17-19 is the setting of Queen Jezebel's reign in Israel and her demonic schemes to control everyone in her sphere of influence.

1. With demonic control, she: Jezebel's ultimate goal is always control unto herself!

2. The Jezebel spirit attacks others, dominates or manipulates those in authority.

3. The Jezebel influence always causes fear,  causes men to flight and gives discouragement as we saw with Elijah!

4. People under Jezebel's influence tend to be natural leaders, although often operating covertly or stealth!

5. People under Jezebel's influence are often the insecure and the wounded. These also would be what is called the orphan. They are not raised by fathers, but most likely mothers only!

6. The Jezebel Spirit functions subtlety and deceptively: promotes pride, independence and rebellion.  She the spirit is in alignment with a religious type spirit.

7. The abdication of an Ahab empowers a Jezebel spirit to operate.

8. The families of people under Jezebel's influence are often dysfunctional and out of order. Know any?

The lessons learned from 1 Kings 19:1-2:  "The spirit of Elijah brings restoration where evil has temporarily spread division and strife."

The lessons learned from 1 Kings 21:8-10:  "So she wrote letters in Ahab's name and sealed them with his seal, and sent letters to the elders and to the nobles who were living with Naboth in his city. Now she wrote in the letters, saying, 'Proclaim a fast and seat Naboth at the head of the people; and seat two worthless men before him, and let them testify against him, saying, "You cursed God and the king." Then take him out and stone him to death.'"

1.   Her orders were to bring worthless men forward to curse a man of God.

2.   She wanted others to testify against him and then take him out to be stoned to death.

3.   Jezebel herself wanted prophetic leadership and stopped at nothing to gain it. In 1 Kings 18, we learn that she went about murdering the prophets of the Lord.

She wanted to silence their voices. True prophets of the Lord would have exposed her sin and prophesied her downfall, as Elijah did. Jezebel also craved that prophetic anointing for herself. She raised up her own large group of false prophets, who prophesied according to her own agenda. She provided for them and fed them at her table (1 Kings 18:19).

1.   The enduring nature of this spirit (which is demonic, and not related to a gender) is confirmed when Jesus warns the Church concerning "Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess" (Rev. 2:20).

2.   As Jezebel did, the "Jezebelic spirit" seeks to shut down the Lord's prophets and the true prophetic. It raises itself up, masquerading as prophetic. Its motivator is jealousy and control. It is a spirit of witchcraft (2 Kings 9:22, Gal. 5:20). But our God is greater! Jesus has already overcome it!

3.   "The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds." (2 Cor. 10:4 NIV)

4.   The Lord is giving us courage to rise up and refuse to "play the games" and "dance the steps" of Jezebelic control. He is enabling us to move in the opposite Spirit, in His fruit and His wisdom (Gal. 5:22-23, Jas. 3:17-18).  Those Jezebelic powers are being revealed for what they are and broken in Jesus' name. Come to the Father!  So, if you have felt as though you have been wounded; if you realize you have been dented by envy or jealousy, receive His grace today. Unhindered, you can embrace your uniqueness, receive your inheritance, and celebrate the gifts and callings of others. The past is falling away! You are stepping out into the fullness of all God has for you, free from the stain of envy once and for all.  "So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." (Jhn. 8:36 NIV) (To

The Solution: King Jehu and His Warrior Anointing….. from 2 Kings 9:7-10:  "'You [Jehu] shall strike the house of Ahab your master, that I may avenge the blood of My servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the LORD, at the hand of Jezebel.

Insight from 2 Kings 9:30-31: "When Jehu came to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it, and she painted her eyes and adorned her head and looked out the window. As Jehu entered the gate, she said, 'Is it well, Zimri, your master's murderer?'"  Jezebel uses seduction and sexual manipulation and payoffs to control men.

Jehu confronts without fear, as he knows his sphere of authority. Jezebel was not conquered by Elijah but by the kingly anointing of the next generation under Jehu.

Insight from 2 Kings 9:34-37: "Remember, every mess is an opportunity for God's next miracle."   "When he came in, he ate and drank; and he said, 'See now to this cursed woman and bury her, for she is a king's daughter.' They went to bury her, but they found nothing more of her than the skull and the feet and the palms of her hands.

Jehu operates under a fierce warrior anointing. Jezebel's destruction was so complete that she was unrecognizable.

Insight from Revelation 2:24-28:  "But I say to you, the rest who are in Thyatira, who do not hold this teaching, who have not known the deep things of satan, as they call them – I place no other burden on you. Nevertheless what you have, hold fast until I come. He who overcomes, and he who keeps My deeds until the end, TO HIM I WILL GIVE AUTHORITY OVER THE NATIONS; AND HE SHALL RULE THEM WITH A ROD OF IRON, AS THE VESSELS OF THE POTTER ARE BROKEN TO PIECES, as I also have received authority from My Father; and I will give him the morning star."   What is ultimately at stake is the authority and ruler-ship of the nations in God's stead. Overthrowing Jezebel aids in spreading the Gospel of the Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ into the entire world. There is a lavish reward waiting for those who partake in this Kingdom advancement.

The Key of the Kingly Anointing.  "The LORD said to him, 'Go, return on your way to the wilderness of Damascus, and when you have arrived, you shall anoint Hazael king over Aram; & Jehu the son of Nimshi you shall anoint king over Israel; and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel-meholah you shall anoint as prophet in your place. It shall come about, the one who escapes from the sword of Hazael, Jehu shall put to death, and the one who escapes from the sword of Jehu, Elisha shall put to death.'" (1 Kings 19:15-17)

Not only did Elisha receive a double portion of the mantle that rested upon Elijah, but by careful observation we find there were three who were chosen to follow in the footsteps of their father Elijah: Hazael, Jehu & Elisha. Note that two of the three were anointed to be kings & only one was set apart as a prophet. Jehu, king over Israel, was the one appointed to overthrow Jezebel's palatial reign. A key is revealed here concerning the kingly anointing of ruling and reigning in Christ Jesus.

The Key of the Joining of the Generations. "Behold, I am going to send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and terrible day of the LORD. He will restore the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers, so that I will not come and smite the land with a curse." (Malachi 4:5-6)  We must call forth the truths of Malachi 4:5-6 to win this end time battle of the ages. The spirit of Elijah results in joining the generations – where hearts are turned to the Lord and to one another in cooperation. The spirit of Elijah brings restoration where evil has temporarily spread division and strife. But this, too, is subject to change!

In breaking the Chains of Bondage it is vital to remember that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood but against powers of darkness. "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because He has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor." (Luke 4:18-19 NIV)

Clothed in the Spirit of Christ, we become part of the solution, declaring that the favorable year of the Lord has come bringing freedom for the prisoners and all who are oppressed.

We declare this freedom, in the name of Jesus, this spiritual reality is revealed to us. We repent of tolerating the spirit of Jezebel and letting ourselves be controlled by a stronghold other than God's Holy Spirit. We ask You our Lord empower believers  with the anointing like Jehu to displace this destructive entity( of demonic activity). Heaven’s hope solution for this demonic dilemma is revealed and received in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen and amen!

Are We Tuned into ABUNDANCE?

1 Kings 18:41-46  NKJV……41 Then Elijah said to Ahab, "Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain." 42 So Ahab went up to eat and drink.

Are we tuned into Abundance? God is the God of Abundance! Elijah spoke: I hear the sound of the abundance of rain: So our ears are to hear God's heart.....GOD’S SPIRIT TO MY SPIRIT MAN.……Sound = vibrations……. my SPIRITUAL ear has picked up the vibration of something that is coming. The "something" from God is on its way to me! I can't see it, I can't touch it, I CANNOT feel it…….. but IT IS on the way!

Sound always indicates something: it can be good or it can be bad, but something of sound is occurring! When 120 men and women had gathered in the upper room waiting for the promised power, the Bible says: Suddenly there came a sound from heaven like a mighty rushing wind and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

There was a sound: The sound was an indication (Something is coming).
Suddenly cloven tongues as fire appeared on each of them and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.

These men and women came together in prayer. They came with one thought to receive the Promise!

I hear the sound of an abundance of rain: Elijah spoke in a place and a time where there had not been rain for sometime because famine had been present in the land for some 31/2 years.

What did that mean ? (Rain) as being the river of God meant for Israel: new life, restoration, the rivers will run again, fish will be caught again, the crops will grow again, there will be gladness and joy that will have  replaced sorrow, there will be laughter where there has been weeping.

Psalm 65:9-13……..9 You visit the earth and water it,

You greatly enrich it; The river of God is full of water;

You provide their grain, For so You have prepared it.

10 You water its ridges abundantly, You settle its furrows;

You make it soft with showers, You bless its growth.

11 You crown the year with Your goodness, And Your paths drip with abundance.

12 They drop on the pastures of the wilderness, And the little hills rejoice on every side.

13 The pastures are clothed with flocks; The valleys also are covered with grain;

They shout for joy, they also sing. NKJV

Prayer is communication where God is present in His word and as we communicate with Him. And it is God WHO desires us to prophesy and say to the dry bones, get ready, Rain is on the Way!  RAIN IS ON ITS WAY…….. God’s answer is on the WAY!

We STAND! We look and are expectant. It is not giving up, but it is praying in giving thanks for the answer is coming. The fire burns brightly, giving away to a new strength to continue in the Lord!

The more You and I spend with God, the more we will hear Him speak. Even in the midst of chaos, in the time of a bad report, the Lord still speaks. There are days I can walk outside and I sense change. It is there in the atmosphere! I cannot see it, I cannot hear it, but there is a sound of change in the atmosphere.

So God tells Elijah in a sound, abundance of rain. IT IS A DOWNPOUR………….. GOD IS PROCLAIMING IT IN THE SPIRIT REALM…………IT IS ONLY PICKED UP IN THE SPIRIT REALM………in 1 John 5:3-4…..we are told this: 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. 4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith. NKJV

Our faith, our trust in the Lord, and hearing HIM declare that there will be rivers in the wilderness……..….. Isaiah 43:19-21…19 Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.  20 The beast of the field will honor Me, The jackals and the ostriches, Because I give waters in the wilderness And rivers in the desert, To give drink to My people, My chosen. 21 This people I have formed for Myself; They shall declare My praise. (NKJV)

When we trust the Lord and are expectant, we can know in our spirit man that we have changed, we have grown, and not trusting in the flesh creature anymore. Our spirit man is in the ascendancy to receive what the Lord speaks and to declare to our body, the five senses, get ready for abundance is on its way.

When we really start to hear Him, we move from Hindered Street to Power Boulevard and the atmosphere is changing.I declare His Word of abundance over me and my family and move to more than enough Avenue!

Like Elijah, we can see the result of answered prayer.

We can see God turn things around for our good!

The rain was on the way but there was work to be done: Ahab went to play and Elijah went to pray.

E.M. Bounds, one of the greatest men of prayer that ever lived said: “God does nothing except in answer to prayer.”
So if things seem to be stagnating around us and nothing appears to be moving then we should be looking at our Prayer life. When we have no prayer, we have no life! If you have no prayer life then you have no power in your life!

John Wesley was quoted as saying, “Prayer is where the action is."

"We have to pray with our eyes on God, not on the difficulties." Oswald Chambers

"Prayer is not learned in a classroom but in the closet."  E. M. Bounds

Before interceding in prayer, we must find the quiet place to worship God. We are to have the thankful heart.  Think of what He can do, and how He delights to hear the prayers of His redeemed people. If we truly are the Redeemed, then we must let God know how thankful we are to be HIS REDEEMED! Psalm 107:1-3 NKJV…….Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. 2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy, 3 And gathered out of the lands, From the east and from the west, From the north and from the south.

As Elijah, when God gives us the sound of something coming………whether it is change either spiritually, physically or financially, we keep our eyes on Jesus. Thanking the Lord for you heard the sound and you begin to prophesy to the walls.

We cannot look at the circumstances surrounding us. The servant returned with an answer……….. I’m looking but I don’t see any evidence of an answer to your prayer.
But Elijah just keeps on praying, he sends his servant back to the sea and while the servant is running Elijah is praying.

There are times that we must continue to pray. In prayer, we continue to look at the Word and not the circumstance……EVEN …..when a word from God in our spirit has come, we keep on praying. We hold in our heart: the sound of abundance of rain.

We should never stop if the answer does not come right away! We are to continue our worship to God, and keep expecting. For every moment we move aside to the secret place and pray, we put pressure in the spirit man to hear God completely, with no noise, only the sound of His voice speaking.

What am I expecting? What are you expecting? What do you require? God gave me a sound…………..I heard it……….I keep praying, keep seeking, I keep knocking and believing I will see what I heard in the spirit. I give thanks for a "hearing ear" to hear Him speak to me!

It is on the 7th return to Elijah that the servant speaks……..”  Behold there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea.”  He heard the sound in the spirit and then a Rhema word came………
A Rhema word: A specific word, for a specific purpose, for a specific time.
There’s something about faith that lets you see the greatness in little things:

Faith can see:  mass destruction in the jawbone of an ass ( Judges 15:16-17), a small child’s lunch feed 5000 men ( Mark 6: 30-44), or a king in small ruddy-faced young boy who shepherds sheep ( David: 1 Samuel 16: 1-13).

Elijah prayed and the servant saw……..he saw the cloud the size of a man’s hand………….but Elijah remembered the sound……….it was a gully washer coming, it was going to be the rainstorm of rainstorms to end drought and to fill rivers to overflowing capacity.

I don’t care how big the problem may seem to you, or how long it has existed: The promises of God come in concentrated form and one little word from God will set you free, and will "destroy" that thing forever.
Jesus said: All it takes is faith like the size of a mustard seed and you can command mountains to jump into the sea and they will have to go.

Jesus told us in Luke 17 of faith……….. Luke 17:6………….6 So the Lord said, "If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,' and it would obey you. NKJV

Elijah got off his knees and told Ahab: It’s here, The rain is here, If you don’t get that chariot rolling you aren’t getting off this mountain.

And while Elijah was prophesying, the wind blew, and the clouds turned black and the rain came. It was Elijah who heard it with his spirit man, prophesied it with his mouth and saw it with his eyes.
And then Elijah out ran a king in a chariot and horse to get to the city where the queen was waiting.

How did Elijah do that? How could he outrun a chariot drawn by a fast horse in the mud? Prayer helped him! That which he prayed for the nation would also come to him. Seeds sown for the good of another came to Elijah. Elijah had a relationship with God. And it was God who broaden the path under Elijah.

Behaving under pressure is revealed by how we behave in everyday life when a "suddenly" appears. Because a "suddenly" can bring extra pressure to you, your well-being and your check book or savings account!

Prayer picks fights! Prayer seeks God and His presence. Prayer seeks that which belongs to God. Prayer helps us to guard truth! It is carrying the right name of Jesus as our treasure which is above silver and gold! Prayer in us and through us will set up the word which has free course to be free running through our lives that is of His justice, His peace, His strength, His power and His love.

Prayer is submitting to God and resisting the devil: James 4:7-8 NKJV Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinner; and purify your hearts you double-minded. Choosing prayer in the time of prayer for Elijah was choosing to draw near to God to hear Him and to receive rain! Faith is not accidental. Faith is a like a bull dog holding onto the edge of someone's coat with teeth showing and with no outward appearance of letting go of that coat edge. It is being determined to hear God, being determined to embrace God's life and renounce the enemies lies.

Prayer is knowing God and being known by Him! And the opposite will appear, that those who pray will be known they just came from God and He God knows them well because they speak with a bold response of a believer by faith in Him.

Today, you and I have the Holy Spirit. May He the Holy Spirit magnify the ability in prayer through us. May we forget the past and regard today that is alive unto God where His counsel to us is wisdom and revelation through Christ Jesus. May our eyes be opened and our ears to hear what the Lord will speak. For by the Spirit of Grace, we are directed into a spiritual life where abundance is seen and received in the physical. It is that place where we give thanks as we walk into that abundance place that it our inheritance.

Are you ready to pick a fight? Are you ready to see abundance come? Make sure you are kneeling for the "right thing" for it is found only in God and in Him alone. Amen!
