The Spiritual Mannequin

What is and where would we see the spiritual mannequin? We should be people of the kingdom of Jesus He is King of and leads us daily. But mannequins are shaped in a form to smile lots and make no movements of their own. They should be those who are faith people, filled with God's word and on fire for His glory and to His praise.

Matthew 11: 19-19 For John came neither eating nor drinking and they say, 'He has a demon.' 19 The Son of Man came eating and drinking and they say, 'Look a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of the tax collectors and sinners!' But wisdom is justified by her children.

Unbelief will not respond to truth! John the Baptist was and is the one who spoke of Jesus' coming. And Jesus demonstrated the faith walk with every word He spoke! They spoke wisdom of God. They regarded truth the priority. So where does that leave us today?

What are the children of wisdom? We would know them as those who have good works and good fruit. They who would be wise or the foolish would be seen and know by the fruit they bear. In this, their work accomplished or life lived it out in truth would bear it out!

In this day and hour we should control our desires as any excess over what God spoke.  Do we have that flesh gluttony? For losing control of oneself in this excess is sin! It is truly feeding the belly, that little god of excess. And it is bad when running to it eagerly to participate in it. God's wisdom is available for us to live by. But do we do it? Do we speak it and believe it to be His truth?

Today we have people tending toward joining this culture thing or that culture thing. They want people to hear them, but most of the time they give voice to the wrong thing. Any platform should be made available to Jesus and truth He spoke! The people Jesus spoke to, had a meal with, did not drag Him into their culture thing. He gave them choice of His truth against their sin! He spoke to their hurt and pain.

Sin today is so rampant, even among church goers! People should not be relying on drugs to tone down their pain, emotional distraught or recreational joy ride. They should want Jesus' words to penetrate their hearing for healing! On the Cross, Jesus had two men beside Him. One spoke against Jesus and the other regarded Jesus: Luke 23:39-43 Then one of the criminals who were hanged blasphemed Him saying, "If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us." 40 But the other answering, rebuked him, saying, "Do you not even fear God seeing you are under the same condemnation?" 41 " And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but his Man has done nothing wrong." 42 Then he said to Jesus, "Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom." 43 And Jesus said to him, "Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise."

Paradise is the blissful place of fellowship with God. Now, today, is the time to worship, give God place in us.....it is not a mannequin, but a person who reads the Word of God, prays and gives place to praying in  Tongues, and songs to glorify God. It is done with others and is done alone. When you find a dark place, a bad report from a doctor, a loved one has passed, others moved away, and now you find another dark place. Yet, Jesus is for us when He hears us cry out to Him. It is a rallying cry, not boots on the ground, but sound words of truth declaring Jesus is Lord.

No cowboy hats, and white boots to the thigh, no it is not a culture but a place, a living maybe in some weakness and some strength, maybe fatigued, maybe with less interest in life, but get a spark of life from Jesus today. Find yourself in Him, hearing His sweet voice and learning your body should obey His every command.

The disciples did not want Jesus to leave them. Judas Iscariot wanted a King so he was paid 30 pieces of silver  to betray Jesus. What gluttony betrays us today? What flesh excess needs to be cut off right now? Peter thought he would never betray Jesus, but he did! We are not mannequins. We are to always exercise and discipline ourselves, bringing under authority our canal affections, those bodily appetites and any worldly desires we would have. We should endeavor to in all respects to have a clean conscience, voice of offense toward Father God and toward men. We should keep ourselves from idols. Those representing culture will find many "gods" while continuing to be themselves in sin!

What occupies our hearts? To be spiritual is to be Holy Spirit minded.  It is asking Him to give the fruit of our lips that draws thanksgiving from our innermost resources, that secret place of our heart.  Humility and fear of God brings wealth and honor and life to us. To be clothed is clothed in compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

Yes, I will ask if you are for your family, community and nation. Do YOU pray for them all? If not, then why not? Do you follow all rules of this land or not? Unfortunately we have many from other nations who choose to flaunt their language and flag in this nation. If you love your old flag and tongue, by all means go back to that which you love. The Lord gave us a place to voice His name, His faith, His kingdom and His way of life. It is is being aware of what is falling apart in this nation.

What will it be?

This day, I went with my husband to grocery store. Had stayed in vehicle to keep it cool for our little dog who was with us. The place was busy, watched vehicles drive by. I then saw a man walking in middle of street toward our parking space. He stayed in the opposite lane, but stopped for a moment. He stopped in front of an Auto Parts Store. Then looking in my direction, he started screaming, that yelling at the top of his lungs. I first thought he was talking to someone behind our vehicle, but there was none. I looked once at him, when he crossed intersection toward us. Although staying in the opposite lane, he proceeded to yell and curse. He pointed and waved his hands and arms....lifting them toward the sky. He stopped opposite our vehicle, but continued with his explosive language. People driving by watched him in his bodily anger. He started walking again. I did not watch him. But could see him walking waving wild arms and yelling loudly. He continued that till he got to end of mini strip mall. Then he was gone. Alas it was quiet again!

I told my husband about it. And when I finished immediately I knew Holy Spirit was showing me Jesus at the Tombs. The demoniac was yelling at Jesus, and the man who knew Jesus would fall to worship Him but the demon would have "the man" yell at Him.  Yes, it got quiet when the man left that parking lot in the city today. But he was loud when Holy Spirit was close by. Interesting truth I was reading in the book of Titus when he started to cross into our parking area.

Call it what you will, but truth will call out! It is not drugs, it is not a plastic smile, and unbelief. No we must be on the alert for Jesus. Be on the alert when someone passes by us and with a not to happy platform. We pray for him who chose loud behavior, to be rude with anger that others could hear. May he know Jesus as we know Jesus. May Holy Spirit enlighten this man to truth today.

Things are happening all around us: 28 plus earthquakes in Nevada. flows of liquid from Yellowstone Lava Lake, a large asteroid is entering our solar system first of October. I think it comes by Mars on October 3. Hey, if it misses Mars, it might miss us too! And the bad things occurring to rabbits and deer. Those with tentacles coming out of their heads, chest and backs. Yikes! Something is happening guys. Put away culture and seek truth in our Lord now!

Seriously Flawed

Now I have done much writing on one's character. And everyone has some kind of character. And generally the worst of one's character is generally on the forefront of another's remembrance of that "bad" character.
In my youth, I remember people being remembered for their "bad" character. Those who would see the "bad" character walking down the sidewalk, would not even give said person a nod toward their direction if they ("bad") had left their wife for another woman, or who had abandoned their children with no one to care for them, or even worse, they just did not hold a job! And today, people are still regarded for their character: good or bad! I remember those who could not hold a job. In fact I probably had their names memorized by the time I was ten years old. For "bad" character would be spoke about and I would file their name away for use at later date! YIKES!
Yet when we look at the New Testament and Jesus with His disciples, character did not seem so paramount to Him.
Looking at say the chapters of 9 and 10 in the book of Luke, we find Jesus releasing power and authority over them, the disciples as well as some 70 others.

Luke 9:1-5
9:1 Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. 2 He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. 3 And He said to them, "Take nothing for the journey, neither staffs nor bag nor bread nor money; and do not have two tunics apiece. 4 Whatever house you enter, stay there, and from there depart. 5 And whoever will not receive you, when you go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet as a testimony against them." 6 So they departed and went through the towns, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.    NKJV

Luke 10:17-20
17 Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, "Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name." 18 And He said to them, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20 Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven."   NKJV

Yes, seventy had returned. They returned with joy. But Jesus told them not to rejoice in the having authority and power over the enemy but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.
Yes, with growth........that growing up into the mature will take some character and the amount of trust in God for the power and authority He has given us.
Many people today have trust in their own power. And they wield it however they desire the outcome to be. We saw this with the 12 disciples. They were overwhelmed with power when they came back from teaching and preaching in their own towns and cities. And we later saw one as the devil himself, and one we saw deny Jesus, and the other two mentioned, wanted to bring fire down from heaven. Yes indeed, James and John wanted to kill an entire city of the Samaritans.

In looking at Ephesians 4:30, we are told to not grieve the Holy Spirit of God. In regard to Ephesians 4 and reading we find a lot about corrupt words.
Ephesians 4:29-32
29 Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. 32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ forgave you.  NKJV

So, would James and John on speaking about the Samaritans, brought about the necessary edification? NO!
So in evil speaking of another, the Holy Spirit of God is grieved. Then a list of things that grieve: like bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking.
Anyone have a problem with anger? You know you go along for awhile, possibly years and then one day, that "anger" button is pushed and we have to find what triggered that release of anger!

John 15:9-12
9 "As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. 10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love. 11 These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. NKJV

John 16:7-15
7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper (the Holy Spirit of God)  will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. 8 And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9 of sin, because they do not believe in Me; 10 of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; 11 of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. 12 I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. 14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. 15 All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.  NKJV

1 Thessalonians 5:15-22
15 See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all. 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not despise prophecies. 21 Test all things; hold fast what is good. 22 Abstain from every form of evil.  NKJV

We desire for the Holy Spirit to remain with us, as He did with Jesus. And from the above scripture we find, we are not to render evil for evil to any. We are to pursue what is good both for ourselves and for all. Rejoicing always, to pray without ceasing, giving thanks that is the will of God in Christ Jesus for us and we are not to quench the Spirit of God. We are not to despise the prophetic word given, holding fast to the "good" and to abstain from every form of evil.

Although ministering to others is important. It is not as important as our "relationship" with the Spirit of God. Jesus always referred back to the Father. And Jesus was yielded to the Father's instruction.
In my belief of His Word and my time of abiding in His love, I am always brought to His regal beauty. In regard to that beauty I always think how wonderful it would be if people all over the world would think on God and what He created. Spend time reading of the beauty of heaven and that He has prepared a place for us who believe.

Revelatiion 22:1-5................22:1 And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2 In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 3 And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him. 4 They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads. 5 There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign forever and ever. NKJV)

Revelations 21:2-8
2 Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." 5 Then He who sat on the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new." And He said to me, "Write, for these words are true and faithful." 6 And He said to me, "It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. 7 He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. 8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."   NKJV

For to us who believe, for them who abide, this city exists and it is seen today with spiritual eyes. For our God is Spirit. And the Word He gave us is Spirit and True. For He is also the Faithful. He is Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. He has freely given the fountain of the water of life to him who thirsts. In overcoming we will inherit all things.

To overcome, we will not tolerate sin. We will not try to get along with less anger, or be those who can not and will not take instruction.

Galatians 5:13-26
13 For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. 14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."  15 But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another!

16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.  NKJV

If we grieve the Holy Spirit, then we have no power, and whether our character is the good or the bad will not matter anyway, or will it?
Not grieving Him will look like kindness to others, goodness, faithfulness, self-control, joy and yes, peace! It is not provoking others or envying others.

To have the Spirit of God, is to have the same as Jesus had. Our conduct is how our character will react in situations or problems. Our power is to be in that same power that raised Jesus from the dead. And the completion of this is knowing the Father. Abiding as the "family" and knowing truth is vital to moving out of the seriously flawed  and into His plan. We truly can make mistakes, but when we first talk with our Father through His Son Jesus, we make the request of how we can move through this life and speak or make our boast in HIM!

The only way today to discern good or evil is not by watching the news at night. The best way is found in Hebrews 5:14........ 14 But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.  NKJV

Those trained by God's instruction are those who will discern the false, the counterfeit. But if we have no time to give to our Father, how can He tell us the things that are to come to us?
Yes, the decision is yours. I made mine and I will continue to abide. Instruction is good. And His power along with my willing to "not grieve the Holy Spirit" of God will prove to be to my advantage. I choose not to be taken in by the devil when the greatest days are ahead in the culmination of God's harvest. Come on and go with me, and let's make His Name great.

Malachi 1:11
1 For from the rising of the sun, even to its going down,
My name shall be great among the Gentiles;
In every place incense shall be offered to My name,
And a pure offering;
For My name shall be great among the nations,"
Says the LORD of hosts.   NKJV

Amen!

Heard It Through the Grapevine

We had a tremendous time with the Lord last night. We had a special word on "abiding". We had wonderful worship and prayer together as a team. Then we had "food". Ahh, yes, Jesus liked to eat as well. We find it happening after His resurrection. Yes, down at the beach front of the Lake.......He had fish cooking on the "grill".
John 21:7-10
7 Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It is the Lord!" As soon as Simon Peter heard him say, "It is the Lord," he wrapped his outer garment around him (for he had taken it off) and jumped into the water. 8 The other disciples followed in the boat, towing the net full of fish, for they were not far from shore, about a hundred yards.  9 When they landed, they saGRAEVINE,w a fire of burning coals there with fish on it, and some bread.

10 Jesus said to them, "Bring some of the fish you have just caught."
NIV

How often as individuals and family leaders we get caught up in the "activity" of just doing. Well, "I did my job today and I am so tired!"  "I am just going to do my thing tonight (tomorrow, Sunday or ???)
In what we read above, the disciples had gone back to what they did before they met Jesus. Before their walk with Him, they as fishermen had gone back to that which they "knew oh so well"!
Some of the disciples saw the fire of burning coals and that were some fish already cooking.
Jesus knew where to find them. They had been so frightened to all that transpired by the one hundred or so company of soldiers had come to them in the garden to take Jesus away. They probably thought they were next in line for crucifixion. But Jesus knew them and what was in them. And He found them fishing. No, they were probably hidden out is some area as not to be seen as "one of those"who followed that Jesus!
In the passage in John 21 we find some interesting conversation between Jesus and the disciples....John 21:1-9

21:1 After these things Jesus showed Himself again to the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias, and in this way He showed Himself: 2 Simon Peter, Thomas called the Twin, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two others of His disciples were together. 3 Simon Peter said to them, "I am going fishing." They said to him, "We are going with you also." They went out and immediately got into the boat, and that night they caught nothing. 4 But when the morning had now come, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. 5 Then Jesus said to them, "Children, have you any food?" They answered Him, "No." 6 And He said to them, "Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some." So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish. 7 Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It is the Lord!" Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment (for he had removed it), and plunged into the sea. 8 But the other disciples came in the little boat (for they were not far from land, but about two hundred cubits), dragging the net with fish. 9 Then, as soon as they had come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid on it, and bread.
NKJV
In verse 5, Jesus speaks to them.........."Children, have you any food?" They answered Him, "No".

Interesting Jesus says, "children".
How we desire to "help" our children! How we want to show them to walk through life, have this journey, and know the best of it each day.
Alas, these men had no fish. They had caught nothing. Jesus gave them instructions and they followed them. They caught a boat load that was more than enough and they came to shore.

I have found in my walk with the Lord that I could miss a lifetime of miracles if I miss a service or that special evening of worship and praise to God the Creator. No, there was no big "choir" singing. There was no one " playing bass guitar or beating some drums!" But we worshiped in song and in prayer. We came together as a family to give thanks. In all my years of church going, this year was like going home for the first time. It was this refreshing time of being with those you love and who love you back. A child prayed, a dessert was eaten, and prayer was given for all. A time to laugh, and joy in truth that God is ever with us. (Matthew 1:23)
In each of us, we had a story to tell. Some of health, some of family and some things caused by other people, but we each have seen God involved in our lives. We came together, expecting God in our future to fulfill all that He has promised.

Can God visit us in those other places we desire to venture? Well of course He can, but when in an environment that is tuned to K-SELF, instead of into G-O-D....we can come up short of not hearing or obeying even a small request from Him. If the noise of the world speaks over what God is saying to us.
The disciples surely got an instruction and about throwing the net on the other side of the boat. What if God is wanting to change the way we do something, and it is something that is "just ingrained" into our lives and thought patterns? What if God wants to give us answer to something that is right before us and before the storm hits our life?
Jesus laid down His life in heaven to pick up that which was of flesh and bone. He took up that which He could see and know first hand the lives of His children.
But what if we choose to roam.........but I will be back when I am ready to get back to Jesus!

Matthew 16:13-20
13 When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, "Who do people say the Son of Man is?"

14 They replied, "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets."

15 "But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?"

16 Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

17 Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven. 18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.  19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." 20 Then he warned his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Christ.
NIV

The most interesting thing about this passage is that the one set of disciples each had something immediately about what they had heard...............you know like through the grapevine!
Well,........"Some say John the Baptist...........others say Elijah and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets."
Yes this group heard about what others were saying though ..and...(you guessed it).. they answered Jesus with.......GOSSIP that they had heard!
But Jesus asked them.........."But what about you...........", "Who do you say that I am?"
And Simon answered........."You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

Jesus told Simon Peter......"Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven. 18 And I tell you that you are Peter (rock) and on this rock I will build my church and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."
What Jesus gave of Himself........was such that He had.........not of fancy clothes, not rigorous royalty schedules of pomp but of the word of God given to teach of the kingdom which had come. It was given in the life that was stirred up in the beginning. It was the Holy Spirit, the third God head......that was present, is present and will always be present. It is recognized by the fruit of..........love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. (Galatians 5:22-26)
We who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. We are to live by the Spirit and (not flesh man).........to keep in step with the Spirit (verse 25)

If we are living by what man says about us..........."LOOK OUT!!!"
But if we are the determined to live by the Spirit and have the fruit of what we see from that life, we have the key to that kingdom. And when it comes others will know it!
Again, it is by recognizing that which is within each of us.
Hell cannot prevail against us when we are the man or woman of love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Jesus spoke that the gates of hell would not prevail against us..........and that meant that our agreement was to be by the Spirit that would be in word and in truth.
Have you gone to church with someone or others who you try to talk to about Jesus and the goodness of God and they seem to speak a different language than English and look at you like you might be from another planet? This is what it appears to me.........and yet, in some regards, it is they seem to know of Jesus but do not abide in Him.

1 John 2:6
6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.
NKJV

Those who live by the Spirit are the yielding and they give love wherever they go. I know such people as these and they are light to the lost.
We are to walk like Jesus walked and not by what others say about us or if they think what we are doing is right or wrong just because they get upset about it. If what we are doing is worshiping God and Him alone, the one True God Who is the Only Good God........Luke 18:19 and giving Him glory for all that happens in our homes, in our lives and even in church, then God is truly with Us and will be evident. Each will be known whether they have been with God or not.
He is ever-present and if He sends us to worship in corporate worship with others, it is because He desires it and desires us to be obedient.
In those places of truly coming to the rug.........like our grand-daughter speaks...........that secret place is that where we truly submit, truly speak His Word and affirm that "Greater is He that is me (you) than he that is in the world! Where all  that is spoken comes back to give God glory then we have come to His kingdom where the fruit of the Spirit prevails.
In an awesome testimony last night the Apostle spoke of how God was speaking His plan in a special thing for his family and how just speaking to another showed the Apostle how God was already on the scene and knew about it by what was spoken, even though this "person" had not known  what God was speaking BUT BY THE SPIRIT ONLY!
Yes God is here and now, and we can find Him in searching the Word and in praise to His name, giving glory that belongs only to Him...........and when we are there, called to that place in corporate worship, we hear the answers to what may be coming down the pike........down I-5.........down that grapevine that may be caused by others, but all the while we who listen to the Spirit will be those that know without a doubt that which is by the SPIRIT OF GOD, and WE HAVE THE VICTORY!
In closing.......yield to God, hear the Spirit today........the Spirit of Grace and Mercy..........for such is the kingdom of heaven......and participate with......those the Lord calls His children...........His beloved!

NOT by Rules BUT BY LOVE or A Fork in the Road!

HAVE you ever been given some directions to something so remote in the country, knowing you should be almost to the place you desired, only to find the road has a fork in it, either to your left or to your right..........and IT WAS NEVER MENTIONED IN THE DIRECTIONS? Well, we were given that once.........."yeah, just follow this road for about 5 miles, turns in to dirt about two miles out..........and go pass Johnson's red barn, and then the Frederick's chicken farm, and you are there!"
Yes, that old red barn was there for sure...........and the noise of that chicken farm was showing the way clearly, but there is the fork in the road.........which way, now? Oh, and did I mention it was getting dark, and we had not been on the road before?

Those Directions as in rules and instructions are so important to us! Those directions are used daily, in living, going to school, carrying a child for nine months, taking driver's license test, even going for that CT scan. We must heed directions when staying safe, following the course set in motion by rules, regulations, speed limit signs, dosages for small children when giving them an aspirin, or medicine, dosages in vitamins, minerals and the sort, and even when trying to stay a certain size. Yes, so much applies to our daily living.

Was going over some scripture our pastor had given us some weeks ago. And was in Galatians 5:1 when I thought on the two roadways. In that chapter we had been given some things to think on about that "walk in the Spirit". We are given those examples of the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. (Galatians 5:22)

But in this chapter as a whole, Paul is giving us some things which are are evident in the walk of the flesh creature, yes, man of the flesh can be seen in that of adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like.
Of these, we are told that anyone who practices these will NOT inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:21)
As we make our way through this short but enlightening chapter, we find in verse 24 that those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Galatians 5:1-6
5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. 2 Indeed I, Paul, say to you that if you become circumcised, Christ will profit you nothing. 3 And I testify again to every man who becomes circumcised that he is a debtor to keep the whole law. 4 You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace. 5 For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. 6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.  NKJV

Yes, we have two roadways here, that which is of the free in Christ, and that of bondage under the Law.

But Paul was saying in Galatians 5:1 in (NSAB) "It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery". Yes, two choices here, guys! It was like Peter trying to get Gentiles believer's to obey those rules of the Old Covenant.

Galatians 2:14-21
14 But when I saw that they were not straightforward about the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter before them all, "If you, being a Jew, live in the manner of Gentiles and not as the Jews, why do you compel Gentiles to live as Jews? 15 We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles, 16 knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified. 17 But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is Christ therefore a minister of sin? Certainly not! 18 For if I build again those things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. 19 For I through the law died to the law that I might live to God. 20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. 21 I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain."   NKJV

In all this, it is being pointed out by Paul that when we even begin to obey the rules of that Old Covenant, we are moving into the place of those for whom that covenant was first given...........and that was for sinners. If we are that sinner, still in the place of the Old Covenant, we are to be judged and certainly punished for being a "sinner".
Choosing the covenant Jesus placed for us through His death and burial.........we are dead to sin but alive to righteousness. We had become the sons and daughters of the Father through Jesus's shed blood on the Cross. To stay in the Old Covenant, is saying Jesus's death was for nothing and no effect to us. When there are rules like in the Old Covenant, and someone lives by them, then all rules have to be obeyed, every breathing moment night and day! Paul said in verse 20....that we no longer live but Christ in us continues to live..........and that life.........which we now live in the flesh is by faith in the Son of God, WHO LOVED US AND GAVE HIMSELF FOR US. THERE IS NO RIGHTEOUSNESS THROUGH THE LAW!

Just like following those rules of the roadway, God's Law is good. In that Old Covenant, we saw the need for redemption. But it was only through Jesus' death we could gain life eternally with Him. In anything else, we were lost forever in those rules and regulations. That was of a man keeping a mindset by the law was with all of  the aroma of sin and death. But our relationship was to be set by having a one to one relationship with the Lord, not by rules, but by obeying those things of God that protect a relationship with Him.

We saw the same when He addressed Peter in John 21:15-18
John 21:15-18
15 When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me more than these?"

"Yes, Lord," he said, "you know that I love you."

Jesus said, "Feed my lambs."

16 Again Jesus said, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me?"

He answered, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you."

Jesus said, "Take care of my sheep."

17 The third time he said to him, "Simon son of John, do you love me?"

Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, "Do you love me?" He said, "Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you."

Jesus said, "Feed my sheep.  NIV

Jesus was asking Peter if he loved and to protect that relationship. Protecting that relationship, helps us see others who would benefit in knowing what we know about Jesus and that love that covers a multitude of sins. Sheep certainly do not need rules and regulations. But giving, through caring and feeding we see the little ones grow up. We can know His love, experience His love and give it to others. That starts the moment we receive Jesus and goes all the way to the end, when we are the grown ups but still the children of God!
Take care of the sheep of the Lord =LOVE
Feeding the lambs of the Lord =LOVE
DO we love Jesus more than all that is going on, all that is involved including people, love Him more than anything or anybody + that Love in and from HIM will fill us and overflow to those around us. It is a love that KNOWS NO BOUNDS!!

John 14:15-18
15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever-- 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.
NKJV

Jesus had said in verse 15 to keep His commandments. He said, "I will pray to the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever.".............Is that not awesome.........that the Holy Spirit is not just with us now, but for always and forever? "He, the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him, but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you."

He was telling them, that He was not leaving them ever, and the Holy Spirit would be their comfort. He would like Jesus remind them of what they might do when veering from those Commands He left in place, but the Holy Spirit was to guide us not by the rules BUT BY LOVE!

In dealing with relationships, and if we spend time with others, adds strength not doubt more than if we never spend time with others. Our pastor has been desiring us to spend time together and have a meal together that strengthens us not only as a team member but in the relationship with God Himself. I believe him to speak truth in this. And we are finding fun, fellowship and food in relationships with others as Jesus did with those around Him. When we truly operate in His love.........that is a BRIDGE BETWEEN TWO HEARTS.......THAT IS BOTH APPEALING AND NOTHING LIKE THE WORLD!
As that scripture says in Galatians 5...........that "walk in the Spirit" looks a lot like those examples of the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. (Galatians 5:22)

I believe that is why so many churches cannot grow, why so  many churches keep losing attendees, and close after years of trying to implement the rules.............that Law! Service at this time. Two songs and two only............thirty minute message..............prayer two minutes............CLEAN UP! YIKES, how could any one wrap their head around that one? NOT ME!

WELL, Shelley, rules are important! Yes, particularly if you are driving 100 miles per hour in a 25 mile per hour zone! Cars are a lot like guns..........they can kill people, too! But it is love that saves people, not keeping a hundred rules................certainly one must keep to a schedule, to stay within some time limits enforced, but the hard-fast rule here is to allow the Holy Spirit to have His way in every service, every time of ministry and every day in our homes, our lives and our children's lives.

In those moments to heed the Holy Spirit.........and pray ....and encourage others.............or clean, which will we choose........?
For whether on Thursday night,  we have clean-up at 8 pm or 9 pm could be the difference in allowing someone to see the love of God!

God is not a tyrant, and He is not dealing out destruction. He surely can give us a vision or a dream........but we can see that fulfilled in our lifetime, and not in the next thirty minutes. It is a "WALK OF THE SPIRIT"........NOT A HURRY UP AND DO MINISTRY! God wants us first...........in relationship with Him, with our spouse....if you have a spouse......(see blog: LET NOT MAN SEPARATE),..........relationship with our children...(see blog:How Often Do We Tell Our Children We are Well Pleased With Them?) and how we deal with others!

Many years ago, our daughter had gotten her license. She had taken driver's education and she got her license taking the test once. We were proud of her. She followed the rules of the road. There were two things we did go over the first probably 100 times she left in the car, and that was that she wear the seatbelt and do not use cruise control. Why?
Well, when she was first learning to drive, with licensed driver's with her, we allowed her to drive us into the next state over. But in doing so, she used cruise control, and ultimately those long straight lines of a divided highway can makes some people drowsy, she is one of them, and she started to drift off the road. My husband was next to her and grabbed the wheel. He never misses anything. Then cruise-control came off and she was not allowed to use it..............ever!
One time, she was going out to a friends house to grab something and asked if I wanted a ride out to the country with her. Well of course, I thought, this would be fun. I liked the rides out to the country and especially in the spring or the fall seasons. So I got in on the passenger side of truck and off we go. She gets into downtown traffic and makes it through in great time to other side of town, but I had noticed as she talked with such enthusiasm ......was that she had made the last three lights on yellow. I asked her to pause a second on her conversation and asked" "do you have your license?" Oh yes, of course Mom, I have my license."  "Okay, just making sure in case you need it..........." And we continued to make our way out of the city and into the country with the vast green fields, rolling hills and grazing cattle.
I did not speak out in "fear" to her...........and demand she turn around and go home "this instant". No, I just checked for her license, and spoke about those three yellow lights and ................! I did not operate in fear to demand my way, but just reminded her of the rules of the road.
She certainly continued her talking........and our conversing continued with much laughter involved as well..............we enjoyed the trip and each other's company.

Are we in a panic to fulfill ministry or get that job that pays a million a year? Are we in a panic should our child bring home an F on the report card? Are we in a panic when the night is falling, the sun has departed from the horizon and there is still school lunches to prepare and dishes to wash? Jesus did not come to accommodate a culture, He came to set up His kingdom without rules..........HE CAME TO ESTABLISH LOVE!
That love was in cultivating relationships with others. It was expressed through Jesus' everyday life. He taught them and ate with them. He did not send them home empty of anything!

Our pastor mentions that word "cultivate" a lot. And cultivating is like that garden.......cultivating.....is to develop.....as in a crop of whatever seed you sow........or....to gain as a skill as in "relationships". I have had a testimony I spoke of years in the Jail Ministry and at the Women's shelter......and it is that of being  THE "CONTROL TOWER"........AND yes I tried doing that for years........well, decades and it brought me sickness in body and such a weakness to not be able to get out of bed in the mornings. I was that woman who was up at or before 6 am........preparing breakfast and getting child off to school. I cleaned and kept a clean home. You could do the "white glove test" on it and find no dust or lint anywhere. The carpet was shampooed some 4-5 five times a year. We had a small dog at the time, so cleanliness to me was next to godliness. Yes, I thought that. Exercise between 8 am and 9 am unless it is the six mile walk today. Start laundry, by noon............start dinner by 3:30 pm...........clean dishes and kitchen by 5:30 pm. Have talk with husband.........and help child with homework...........go for walk with husband and child by 7 pm........unless raining out. Child ready for bath at 8 pm and bed by 8:15 pm. Prepare lunch for husband to take for next day and get ready for bed. Ahh...........rest...........nope, because I spent the next two to three hours thinking of what I needed to get done the next day. Yes, CONTROL TOWER" had some issues...........and it should have been about how much can I love you today in what I should do and how much should I forget about doing.

We have a lifetime to complete what God has for us to do. It is not a test to see when it gets done, but how much we involve Him into each situation, every decision and if we are involved in knowing others and spending time with them.
How can we love God and not our neighbor when He made them in His image? There should be no blaming games among families or those in the body of Christ. We should not be blaming someone if they might not be where we are in our walk, but certainly those priorities that apply will always include the relationship we have first with God. Second it applies to our relationship with our wife/or husband, and third will always include our children and grand-children. Our walk is one that is led by the Holy Spirit of power. He is well able to see that what has been committed is in the safe hands of God and will come to pass. We just need to be patient to see the way before us, a holiness highway ....that respects and reveres God first, respects and honors our wife or husband, gives life and much love to our children and other people's children..........AND  not with a lot of rules but WITH a lot of guidance with the wisdom in the love of God and to always love our neighbor as we love ourselves.
A fork in the road indeed, but one is clearly displayed in that pathway that is love, kind, gentle, faithful and self-control without panic or fear of God's Word when spoken.

Thank You Lord today for showing us the better life, the better way........in loving others first, putting them first and in all that, we see God our Father's hand arranging that in our lives that is for good and not evil to give us a hope in our final outcome. To God be all the glory.............Amen!
