SNOWTALS!!!!!

WAS viewing the Weather Channel recently for the word out from a local T.V. station that there was a storm producing extreme measurable proportions for snow, wind, and ice coming out of Canada and headed for Washington by the weekend. When your local T.V. station anchors and meteorologist starts blowing off the particulars of such events and yet the governor of our state declares a specific warning, I take note immediately of that situation spoken about. I then certainly resort to those "in the know" about such major events! Yes I sat before the T.V. viewing forecasts of Snowmeggedon!

So I start my confessions of having God's wisdom: James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him, 6 but let him asking faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. Then I am reminded of Jesus and His disciples....you know where Jesus comes walking on the water....Mathew 14: 22-33 and Mark 6:45-52.
I start speaking that my husband and I will speak truth and not the world's wisdom, and will ask the Lord regularly for His rule in that day for us especially those kind of things that affect large populations and travel.


Then I hear this man from the Weather Channel mentioning "snowtals"......and I am thinking and asking myself" what is snowtals"?
 After a a couple of minutes of rewording his sentence, the Weather Channel meteorologist spoke the word expressing the accurate word was....... actually "snow totals" for this big snow event headed for the Northwest Region of the U.S.
Oh, okay, now I am with you.....and the man continues to mark out the specific areas impacted by heavy snow and those with winds, and ice.

I pay attention to this and mention to my husband when he gets home from work what was coming down out of the "north".  And then the next day, early on that Friday, we are outside with our dog looking over some small amount of snow that remained from a previous small event and our neighbor asked if we had heard about "Snowmeggeddon" on its way and we spoke in unison, "Yes".
Of course, my husband and I stand with God and His word in those promises.....when... such things occur for the those whose travel is on roadways effected by such horrific storms. So throughout the week for work, to get groceries, visit family or church, we are thanking the Lord for safety to cross over as the Hebrews did over the Red Sea and away from Pharaoh and his army. We were well armed and ready to take that stand with our confessions ready to display before that which was headed toward us out of Canada.

Certainly we must know God's provision in His word to dispel any darkness within our own thinking that has been instilled by a culture of changing systems regularly. Still the devil has in place his system that brings captive those who are ruled by lust of their eyes, the lust of their flesh and the pride of life. And within that system, Eve and Adam bought the farm of life without God, without His rule and to scratch out a living. And the devil sets no captives free!
In Matthew 4:4 we find Jesus speaking to the devil " man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds of the mouth of God".

The devil presented his world and the beauty and sweetness that he could generate being that fallen one from God's presence:Isaiah 14: 12 How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!" How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations!" 13 For you have said in your heart: I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north; 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.' 15 Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the Pit. 16 "Those who see you will gaze at you and consider you, saying: 'Is this the man who made the earth tremble, who shook kingdoms. 17 Who made the world as a wilderness and destroyed its cities, Who did not open the house of his prisoners.

Yes, the devil has in place his beautiful kingdom to hold captives in that place of fleshly living! They are so many places to travel and embark on never before seen sights, tasting new foods that still appear alive since they are crawling on your plate, and oh yes, those really exotic styled vacations that exhibit clear light blue oceans, sands with bugs you cannot see or the parasites you knew nothing of till you arrived home to find a flaming red mark consistently moving from the bottom of your foot to your thigh. Yikes!

What taste does our stomach hold out for? IS it the word of God we search for diligently or for that far away trip to isolated beauty of third world counties with their own troubles. Heard recently of someone who went to Africa to visit family and a friend and came back with ebola virus!  Now that is no good time or trip. I wondered how many they, the traveler infected with that disease on their plane ride home.

YOU and I certainly should know God's word in this day and time. And should confess His word regularly. We are to ask the Lord for His leading and to find those things He planned or purposed for us, not only as individuals but for the body of believer's as well. 
YOU may not encounter the meteorologist who knows it all and will not give any more time to giving accurate weather. YOU may not encounter snow or high winds or ice, but you will encounter others who travel oh so freely to third world countries to bring back those terrible diseases, flesh eating bacteria and well, exotic morals or the lack of them.

OUR Father God desires us to live for Him and for His glory and within those parameter lines have surely fallen to us in pleasant places. (Psalm 16:6) Let's not waste our time or love on things that kill but spend time with Him who brings life to us and others we may meet. Seek His rule and leading and you will find those who actually give you accurate weather and snow totals, actually give you truth and not some twisted lies of deceit. Our faith in God is not that of "wishful thinking" but it is of the devoted heart seeking His words of life for today and every day.
He never changes. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Amen! So whatever the storm, circumstance, or maybe even sickness, still He is here, is alive and is ready to hear you call.....

True Joy or Scattered by Grief

Voice of Prayer

Living in a fallen world, we can experience the harshness of the world. Though being born again to life we are still in this world but not of it! If we are not in joy, then we are in sadness and grief. And outside of God you will find no true joy of any kind!


Proverbs 14:13 Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful; and the end of that mirth is heaviness.
Proverbs 14:13 NKJV reads this way: Even in laughter the heart may sorrow, and the end of mirth may be grief.

As we know the outward appearance of a person does not always portray the true feelings of the heart. Within this verse given in the Amplified Bible, verse 13 gives the end of mirth is heaviness and grief. Yikes!

Now when someone gets to that place it is as foreign to them as being in another country speaking no English or like being on a planet where no one lives!

Psalm 137:2-6  NKJV  …..(2) We hung our harps upon the willows in the midst of it.(3) For there those who carried us away captive asked of us a song, and those who plundered us requested mirth, Saying, "Sing us one of the songs of Zion!"   4 How shall we sing the LORD's song in a foreign land? 5 If I forget you, O Jerusalem, Let my right hand forget its skill!  6 If I do not remember you, Let my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth—  If I do not exalt Jerusalem above my chief joy.

Bitterness describes the complaints of those in exile. God forced Judah, not to harm but show their way was destructive to them.  These people had been scattered by their continuing to disobey God!

In this setting people desire to sit by the banks of the river under the many willows that grew along the banks, and in that coolness of the day, they desired rest from toil, but their thoughts turned to the home far away and the loneliness of being on foreign soil. They thought of the lost time in their homeland, their loss of years and heartache due to their own "desires". And while in all this, they are bullied by the nation that took them captive, to scoff and make fun of their instrument the harps and because of their God. The captors desired the captives to play them "the fun song".  This period of time they, the captives, mingled their tears with the waters that ran so freely through the region. Their grief overwhelmed them, and the present worship was only in laments of the sorrowful.

In this moment of time, they were far from life that they knew and their instruments was the bitter reminder of  life that what once was held with festive songs, delight and food in the land they called home. But in this moment ,grief challenged their hearts. No songs would serve them but the songs of Zion. What honored God would be truly noted.

Psalm 39:1-6 reminds us about pain and injustices of life often arousing an amount of indignation. It states: I said, “I will guard my ways, Lest I sin with my tongue; I will restrain my mouth with a muzzle, while the wicked are before me.” 2 I was mute with silence, I held my peace even from good; and my sorrow was stirred up. My heart was hot within me; while I was musing (meditating) the fire burned. Then I spoke with my tongue. 4 “LORD, make me to know my end, and what is the measure of my days, that I may know how frail I am. 5 Indeed, You have made my days as hand-breadths, and my age is as nothing before You; certainly every man at his best is vapor. 6 Surely every man walks about like shadow; surely they busy themselves in vain; he heaps up riches, and does not know who will gather them.

Repressed grief, and pent up emotions over man’s broken plans produced a flame that had long been smothered. Anything causing heat can be built up to produce a “hot” flame. In the place of the hidden heart, the many rooms contain plans, dreams, and most likely brokenness from previous relationships or with current ones. People need to talk about things but not to the extent of hammering others to the ground. We each are responsible to ourselves. We are to be responsible at the age we are and not hammer others or badmouth another when our own mouths and actions got us into that place of “trouble” and possible exile!  Being out of God’s will is like being in the “wrong” land at the "wrong" time! 

 It is willfully doing our own things when God has directed us to a certain path and to safety. And when we do not listen or obey, we find ourselves in a heap of a mess. Surely we must come to our senses and quickly not to lose the foundation of that which was placed by God in our youth or in the learning stages of His grace.

 There is something to exile, to that scattering, that God finds very good. For it certainly is not all grief, but stages the Father will take to see us kept safe and to know that we have done “wrong” will be readily before us. And we choose to see repentance is the needed answer, then we are to respond to Him so our relationship with Him continues.

Proverbs 19:21  There are many plans in a man’s heart, nevertheless the LORD’S counsel---that will stand.

Jesus told us of the heart! In Matthew 15:19 we are told that out of the heart proceeds evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, and all of these kinds of things. The heart, yes, is your driving force. And some people have them “souped- up, and turbo charged. They have a hidden danger of heat burning within the heart and without allowing God to lead them through, they thrash others with verbal sword strikes that can kill.

When they "text' their friend, it appears has the hate message. In posting something, they attack someone, and list their very bad issues of character.

Still others will take a trip to fantasy land. They will make the required reservations, check their finances for the availability of  the quick purchase, fun-fare, rides of amusement, fancy dining and the quick snack on-the run thinking they are having a great time, the "great family vacation or family time together,  till they arrive home, and their old “friend bitterness” is there spilling over into grief of lost ones, lost family dinners with the crowd of loved ones, grief over what might have been and ending up on foreign soil. 

Finding their solitude painful they try silence only for the patient few days and then the flame of grief  is fanned into flame by the tongue of anger for the lost.  Their money spent, their tired from long drives, tired from long days and short nights with little or no sleep and pretending all the while that the party is still going and growing.

God does not want us to stop making plans, but He always wants us to understand that those plans are subject to His will and His purpose. God is judging the thoughts of our hearts and the plans that we make, and if they are not in harmony with His plan, then His judgment may result in something that might be emotionally or physically painful to us in order that we are put back on track.

The word of God is to be our "plumb line". Anger can appear and frustrations can be revealed, but we cannot be led by what we "feel". We must know the Word of God, regard it as the standard and not move off it . Party time is not the answer when a heart is about to blow with frustrations and many questions. And if you or I lust after other things as to what people do, what people wear and  to what people have, then we have the wrong thought process. For lust only brings the loss of most likely our good health and life.

Living godly, will bring life that is long and far from the land of exile. The next time something tries to send you into exile, remember God has a plan of good and not evil for a hope in our final outcome. Do not lose focus of His word of truth to lead you out into the light. Turn toward your Father in heaven ask in Jesus name for the expulsion to begin of the grief and pain. Be reminded He lost His Son for our benefit. He lost His first son Adam and His second Son Jesus, but gained life back for us through Jesus. What may be before you should not dictate your life for bitterness as it is harmful and grief can be devastating. It can devastate your life, your home and family.
Remember Jesus came as a human not as God to walk here. He came born into suffering and pain but it was His empathy that made the perfect sacrifice. He is for you and He will help!

On the Road to Emmaus

Have you ever had a dream and see it come to nothing? Did you have have a desire to complete something and it seemed to ravel and fizzle out? Have you wanted to do something great for God and the vision was there and the dreams, yet it failed to come to pass?
Have you ever been on the road to Emmaus, meaning "warm wells", and found another who reasoned with you about why the things turned out like they did? Did the broken dream bring you to a road that is cluttered with reasoning and depression? Is the road you travel much like these two men traveled when they hit their lowest point of grief and not see "their plans" come to pass?
We read about two who had an idea about what the future was to be for themselves, and were disappointed to say the least.

Luke 24:13-35.......13 Now behold, two of them were traveling that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was about seven miles from Jerusalem. 14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened. 15 So it was, while they conversed and reasoned, that Jesus Himself drew near and went with them. 16 But their eyes were restrained, so that they did not know Him. 17 And He said to them, "What kind of conversation is this that you have with one another as you walk and are sad?" 18 Then the one whose name was Cleopas answered and said to Him, "Are You the only stranger in Jerusalem, and have You not known the things which happened there in these days?" 19 And He said to them, "What things?" So they said to Him, "The things concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who was a Prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people, 20 and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered Him to be condemned to death, and crucified Him. 21 But we were hoping that it was He who was going to redeem Israel. Indeed, besides all this, today is the third day since these things happened. 22 Yes, and certain women of our company, who arrived at the tomb early, astonished us. 23 When they did not find His body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels who said He was alive. 24 And certain of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said; but Him they did not see." 25 Then He said to them, "O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! 26 Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?" 27 And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.

28 Then they drew near to the village where they were going, and He indicated that He would have gone farther. 29 But they constrained Him, saying, "Abide with us, for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent." And He went in to stay with them. 30 Now it came to pass, as He sat at the table with them, that He took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. 31 Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight. 32 And they said to one another, "Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?" 33 So they rose up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together, 34 saying, "The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!" 35 And they told about the things that had happened on the road, and how He was known to them in the breaking of bread.  NKJV

Jesus hearing this conversation, asks why they are having this talk and with sadness. He wondered why they grieved! Was not Jesus, now the Risen One?

They wanted to know why "this stranger" would not know about the death of Jesus! How could someone not hear all the uproar, and all the talk of the one who just died and had done so much in God's name.

Yes, these two were hoping that it was He who was going to redeem Israel. They had hoped He would usher in the Messianic kingdom......But by the third day, all seemed hopeless.

You know those "women" came and told them that His body was gone from the tomb! And so Cleopas and friend went to see for themselves, and these women were right, there was "no body" in the tomb! 

And then Jesus spoke in verse 25 .......and reminds them, "O foolish ones, slow of heart to believe in all the prophets have spoken! 26. Ought not the Christ have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?"
Translation of the the word "foolish" is translated wrong. It was never meant for those who are sorrowful and suffering grief. Luke 24:25.... The word is compounded of a (NT:1), "not," and noeoo (NT:3539), which implies, besides "seeing," perception "of the mind" as consequent upon sight. It is therefore equivalent to "dull of perception." They had read what the prophets had spoken, but had failed to "perceive" its application to Christ. 

Understanding what is written in Luke 24:25.......we find that when He spoke......"O foolish",..... was an address to those slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: this O foolish is not the term of reproach denoting any kind of wickedness, but is that which is not connecting the hearing part in relation to Jesus.  Jesus was correcting them in the respect that they did not see and clearly understand that He was going to the Cross. He wanted them to see the clear evidence that they were holding onto to their own opinions and prejudices and were blinded to the truth that He would die and rise again.

Ought not the Christ, stand in fulfilling the prophecies found in Scripture? As Jesus spoke to them, we find He intimated the very truths. He unfolded the "Scriptures" again to them. From the very first of Genesis to the the last of Zechariah, we find many prophecies that were written about Jesus.

These two asked Him to abide with them for the evening. Since travel at night on that road was considered dangerous, they asked Him in to eat with them and have shelter for the night.

As the bread was broken, their eyes were opened, He spoke what He had spoken every time they took bread and broke it.

Things may not turn out like we think they should, but when we have the testimony of Jesus in our hearts then we return to the former thing. We return to His Word that gladdens our hearts, lifts our spirit man and leads us to the greatest time of our history. By faith, engage HIM, and seek the prayer time to have one heart with Him. Enter in and lodge, abide in His presence and see the grief fade away. Stop reasoning...........just continue to......................

BELIEVE HE IS YOUR ETERNAL ANSWER!

BELIEVE HE IS FOR YOU!

When you return to do what He asked then the fire will burn brighter and stronger.Joy will flow from your innermost being and a youthful step will found to lead you to the new things in the Lord!

Rise up and go to tell others about  how Jesus rescued you from grief, from disappointment and pain. Go tell others about the answer of Life that comes in knowing Jesus and obeying His commands.

Jesus is still on the scene and is active...........always there to remind us He has the words of eternal life!

Father, thank You for Jesus, the promised One who came to set the captives free. Thank YOU for all that YOU did in getting Your Son to us for salvation. It is His shed blood that claims us for His very own. I pray for each who read this that we will ultimately move forward in the direction You have chosen for us. I pray that we would be those who "press in" to YOU and the Word. Our destiny, our history has its beginning in You. Today we thank You for Your wisdom that is not limited to a measurement in regards and restrictions of a natural world. Help us to see that we should never filter Your Word through our opinions and false beliefs. Help us Lord to know that we are to keep the Word before us and allow that Word to lead us in new paths and freshness of life.You are still in our midst when we speak out Your name, declare Your word and see Your beauty. May we not be taken in by any failures for our God will never fail. YOU are the Faithful One, the Mighty One, the everlasting Father.  I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give us the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that we may know Him better.  I pray also that the eyes of our heart may be enlightened in order that we may know the hope to which He has called us. 

Father, thank You for Your unfailing love. Your love is UNCONDITIONAL…Thank You that we might know that love and how vast it truly is……….We are thankful that we shall not perish but have everlasting life through YOUR SON JESUS , OUR SAVIOR, AND OUR REDEEMER. We are not ARE NOT CONFORMED TO THIS WORLD but we are renewed to the Word our GOD. LORD do not leave us to ourselves. WE DESIRE TO SEE YOUR MAJESTY, YOUR GOODNESS IN THE LAND OF THE LIVING in Jesus' name. Amen
