More Undignified Than This

2 Samuel 6:12 Now it was told King David, saying, "The LORD has blessed the house of Obed-Edom and all that belongs to him, because of the ark of God." So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom to the City of David with gladness.

13 And so it was, when those bearing the ark of the LORD had gone six paces, that he sacrificed oxen and fatted sheep. 14 Then David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was wearing a linen ephod. 15 So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting and with the sound of the trumpet.

16 Now as the ark of the LORD came into the City of David, Michal, Saul's daughter, looked through a window and saw King David leaping and whirling before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart. 17 so they brought the ark of the LORD, and set it in its place in the midst of the tabernacle that David had erected for it. Then David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD. 18 And when David had finished offering burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD of hosts. 19 Then he distributed among all the people, among the whole multitude of Israel, both the women and the men, to everyone a loaf of bread, a piece of meat, and a cake of raisins. And all the people departed, everyone to his house.

20 Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, “How glorious was the king of Israel today, uncovering himself today in the eyes of the maids of his servants, as one of the base fellows shamelessly uncovers himself!” 21 So David said to Michal, “It was before the LORD, who chose me instead of your father and all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel. Therefore I will play music before the LORD. 22 “And I will be even more undignified than this, and will be humble in my own sight. But as for the maidservants of whom you have spoken, by them I will be held in honor.” 23 Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no children to the day of her death.

David was seeing to the return of the ark to the city. David had removed his kingly robe to dance as the people dance who held no title, no position. And his wife, Michal, regarded her husband’s dancing without his royal clothing as one who was being unworthy. She accused him of being publicly indecent . He told her he held regard for God and would not stifle his enthusiasm when worshiping God. So it was in her critical attitude she held a resentful attitude toward her husband the king!

Michal was contemptuous toward her husband the king. From what we have read in this passage, Michal was prideful just like her father Saul had been prideful. In truth, she should have rejoiced with her husband the king. She could have found that freedom of the humility and joy her husband held for God and for His people!

David had removed the worldly leadership to gain the glory of God in this place. He took off his kingly robes and danced before the Lord. It was so blessed that David distributed among all the people, to everyone a loaf of bread, a piece of meat, and a cake of raisins. And after blessing them, he sent them home.

Devoting oneself to the Lord with humility, it is the heart that bears witness of one committed to God. Do not allow others to dissuade you from that wholehearted godliness and worship. Being faithful to the Lord in the closet as well as in public depicts that courageous heart, one that is obedient, enjoys life in God and will send out loving reflections to those around them!

Yes, David had someone so close to him, who showed her true colors indeed!

Take this day: dance in that childlike attitude before Him in that which is His goodness and power! It is that place where you can experience His love and rejoice  while giving thanks to Him for your life, family and future to behold. NOW that is a dynamic devotion, it is more undignified because restraints of the world are removed.

Go ahead and enthrone God on your heart today! Take off the world, and put on the goodness of God. Lean back into His warmth and bask in that love. Yes, you will find it soothing to your soul, and strength for your heart in your walk in this journey of life with God! Amen.

Personal Expressions

Pagan ideas can come attractively packaged and may sound good, but they do nothing to enhance worship to God or know God. Whether you drink tea or coffee, wear pink on Saturday, drive a Lexus or Volkswagen means nothing really. Your personality may dictate a hat worn every day where another may refrain from wearing hats at all. One person may like a cactus garden in their yard, and another wants his garden to be likened to the gardens in England or Wales! Some people fancy iced tea and others require an iced coffee daily, but these are only examples of the variety in personal expressions.

But what about taking that forward walk in our lives that is lived out completely where their personal cost is noticed? It appeared in Jesus' life. And He mentions those who follow Him, will have to have that personal denial of themselves!

Matthew 10:38  NKJV 38 And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.

The cross of Christ can mean two different things: It can be a symbol of what the crucifixion produced (forgiveness, etc.), or it can represent Christ's own example of self-denial and losing His life for a greater purpose—a symbol of great personal cost.

Have we paid a personal cost to following Jesus? Many people have lost lives due to serving Christ with their whole hearts. I was thinking of the life of Corrie Ten Boom this morning when I got out of a warm bed. I thought of that woman and family being taken by Germans to concentration camps to be held as “the insignificant” . They as the family  helped God's special people! If you have ever read of her life and her survival through the holocaust, she gave some descriptive evidences of what man will avoid to be around, and God will use to hold off the enemy like using lice and fleas as such things. When she and her sister prayed with others, they prayed for something to be used to keep the soldiers away from them and there appeared in their living quarters that which Germans reviled because if those lice or fleas got in the Nazis woolen uniforms, it was hell to pay!

It was the Apostle Paul who wrote in 1 Corinthians 1:18: “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”

The “cross” divides human race! It is a division line: those who are perishing ( to whom the cross is foolishness or stupid folly) and to those who are being saved ( the cross that is wisdom and power of God).

1 Corinthians 1:19-25 NKJV For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.” 20 Where is the wide? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? 21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. 22 For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; 23 but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, 24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Chris the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

When people rely totally on God, what may affect the world may come near, but God will keep him who has chosen the Lord over the world. For Corrie and her family, helping others to escape the grips of the Nazis to other nations was their reward. They would hide people, sometimes complete families so they could escape to freedom. And as the hideous hate against those certain people grew, it began to invade other countries to incite violence against many who would hide the Jewish people from hate!

The seeds that this family sowed for life in Jesus proved a good thing in the eyes of God. And when she and her family were taken on a death train they held their cry out to Jesus. For this woman and sister they prayed for the sick, hoped the eyes of the Germans would be opened to truth and how they forgave the brutality.

For those who have been saved, that message and example of total surrender—as seen in Jesus, of the One carrying the Cross to hold Him on Calvary, who took sin for mankind, yes—is the power of God. Now consider the power unleashed when Jesus surrendered completely: The Most High God not only raised Him back to life, but He has put all things under Him. There is no greater power.

An example of that personal expression yet with whole heart for God is revealed. It is the example of the Creator being willing to die for mankind that others could be free in a new life. The Apostle Paul, wrote of following that example of self-sacrifice so that others could have allowed the Corinthians to be reconciled to each other.

And in the life of Corrie Ten Boom and those who have like faith in Christ, who had surrendered whole-heartedly, yet, for the carnal mind, those who know not Christ, consider any surrender to help another, any thought of helping say the vulnerable or the possibility of loss is wrong to them. And those of "the carnal mind" will see that surrender as a death to their own life and abilities. But when we truly turn to Him, we turn to the reality of God and how He is overseeing the outcome of what is occurring in real time to us!

For you and I, that message of the cross is not merely about forgiveness of sins. It is also about our response to God after we have been forgiven. If we are to be worthy of the Creator who humbled Himself to die a shameful death, our response must likewise be one of self-denial, complete surrender, and reckoning ourselves as already dead to this present, evil age so that we might live for Him.

We might boast about our gardens whether they are like the beautiful English gardens or one like those that scare you when you enter. One might make boast of their many hats: one for the road for a sunny afternoon drive, one for the work in the yard, one for dress-up and one just for fun when playing golf. One might enjoy that personal expression when making a "special" dessert for family or for a birthday or even a friend that always brings a wonderful surprise and smile. You might enjoy sharing some photos of that new grand-child, but what about sharing the Cross? Many people in many nations are trying to live out their lives without God in it. And those who have “a god” have one that relates to the human experience and not to God Himself who created heaven and earth! You can see that within this nation today!

Paul tells us in Roman 12:9…let love be without hypocrisy.  “Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good.”

Love, that God kind, is that which is the principle thing in relationships. It is not only for believers, but we are to have that with enemies as well. And being hospitable is showing an interest in others. It is a giving of ourselves to loving and supporting others.

So to understand  good and evil, we can cling to that because we desire them. We can reject evil and we can reject good, it solely lies on what is in our heart. And what is it that takes first place in that heart?

For the Apostle Paul, we presented here the object: to love, abhor evil and to cling to that which is good. This is God’s  word. It is purpose for life. We must bring our emotions and our will into conformity to what is objectively there. When you face the objective evil: hate it. And when you face the objective good, embrace it.

The Apostle also tells us in Romans 12: 2 …do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.  God has a will for our lives. It is for life and to discern that life is found in His word and prayer. And we know good in the light of Jesus Christ!

It is in this culture of where I live that many have removed Jesus. They have removed Scripture from schools, from government, from city meetings, and stepped up that priority to remove prayer from establishments within government of country and of state.  If there were no God—if there were no Christ—then the good would be subjective, not objective. Good would be in the eye of the beholder, especially the strong beholder. Have anyone in mind who reminds you that they hold strongly to their view of what they behold: like in politics, or like in church, faith and ministry? People have gone so far to remove God and Christ, who then will answer them?

I saw this video made back a few years of a Christian song I really like. The person who wrote and sang it passed about twenty two years ago in an accident. But his song is used in the secular to lift up the worlds' heroes like Ironman, Spiderman, Ant-man, Superman, the Hulk and how many others? I do not want any spiderman to be at my side in a crisis. No thank-you, I am holding onto to Jesus. God Almighty is alive. He lives and we can see it in the works of the Cross.

It is that good, the true and the right which are found beautifully defined in that have objective foundation in God! Jesus provided that the Holy Spirit would be in us in John 14:17 . And what Jesus spoke was this: the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.

So we have the continual revelation of Jesus Christ when we meditate Scripture and pray as the Holy Spirit leads us. We each have our own personal expression, that southern accent, that tan which never fads in winter, that smile that exposes a beautiful face, that laugh that sounds like no other we have heard, but when we give the straight forward word of God, those teachings of the Bible, and what they contain beyond us that gives way to God Almighty, then like Paul, a Christian prisoner in Rome can speak for God and His truth without fear. A slave in Georgia or Jews that were held by Germans, one held for work as slave in plantations or even of a Caesar, we are not to fear, but speak “NO!”  "Wrong is Wrong!"

For any power man would hold against another to bring them into bondage is certainly wrong. And those who operate in that are far from God and the reality of the valuable wisdom of knowing right from wrong has left their thinking entirely. This world has seen those who tried to wield their own human wisdom and strength like Hitler, Stalin, or a Mussolini. There will be others who try. But the excellence is that of the Nature of God and the Lord Jesus: 1 John 5:10-13 NKJV He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. 11 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.

Those who have come also went the way of death. They left no heritage of life. But that the testimony that points to life in Jesus, the Son of God, points to a quality of life that comes only to those who have faith in Jesus. In this life, right now we have an assurance that is confident in the Son of God: John 15:7

Wasps, Heat, and Other Things

Was doing some work outside with my husband about mid morning yesterday! It was a cloudy day and cool, so mowing the grass was a delight! It helps keep one trim and strengthens those upper arms and shoulders besides keeping your core strengthened. And while enjoying the cool of the morning, I took notice of the hanging bait cylinder in one tree. It is a yellow colored cone designed to draw those pesky wasps away from the back door and patio area of the house and yard. And after a trip down one side of the lawn and around the tree, I made another cut closer to the tree and slowed to view this hanging " tomb " for stinging insects! It was interesting to note that those insects that had come into that cone in the last day or two had eaten those that were already dead.  Yes, at the base of the cone-shaped object there laid row upon row of insect body parts.

Now I want to point out here that if the morning had been hot with a blazing bright sun, and sweat appearing on the brow I might have missed seeing that display of brutality upon the other. Because if one is really suffering to cut the grass in hot temps. you might not be taking in the beauty of the day and only spend time noticing what you missed in that last swath of cutting since you are only viewing the ground area!

Was praying as I walked along with the mower. Was trying to hear God above the noise of the mower but did not have to slap at mosquitoes  or the such while I took each cut nearer to the completed goal of a groomed lawn. No yesterday was quieter where insects were concerned, but the week before I noted there were some out to get me and my ankles showed the marks of their piercings by the end of that work time outside.

But let's get to the point here: are people like those insects? Yikes! Is it possible to eat others and take away lives by bitterness when confined by yellow-coned objects and no freedom is found? Scripture makes it clear that God sent peace on earth! He sent His Son and we say His name: Jesus! For in Him is only life and peace found!
So if insects can get rattled when trapped within a small space, what happens when man is sent into a small space to hunker down for say a "flu-type" illness for how many months? What happens when those you love can not be touched by your hand or a pat on the back? What happens when you do not have time to be with them but only by Skype or the such where you try to be on your best behavior, pushing back tears or trying to force that smile so others think you are fine? I have seen these things appear on those people in those stories related on one television viewing of those in lock-down alley!
But God sent His Son. I say His NAME: JESUS! He is REDEEMER of the world. But if people do not see Him nor hear Him then they are set for that which is "lost forever".  He came to set captives free.

The insect world is amazing to me and even more so are the areas like the "marsh" areas, and the " prairies of the this nation that runs hundreds of miles through a few states like Wyoming and eastern S. Dakota, then southward through one end of Nebraska. And within this region is where certain grasses grow, where Buffalo roam grazing on these grasses. It is where prairie dogs live and build those security places for themselves in the ground, where also snakes can move to when hunting out one of those plump little prairie dogs to eat. It is place where certain birds live among the buffalo and move along with them as the graze their way around the land. It is where foxes, and certain rabbits make their home. And what I found out was this world of dry grounds, and prairie grasses provides safety to many creatures that God thought of and not us! Such a world so planned and beautifully detailed for animals to live, to eat, and yes, to survive in that dryness of the prairie and then I wonder why people cannot see what He has planned for them, each man and woman, to enjoy in the here and now!

No, we can see people acting with resistant to the things of God and even question if He exists! But He surely exits, and He is surely alive. In those documentaries I have seen of late, they all point to the creature living on the prairie has an agenda to be alive at the end of that day. And we can see that today, as people move from flu scares to riots in streets and hurricanes rushing in to drown a society. Still God is certainly alive and are we stopping to notice His presence?

If we would take a moment and look into that which Jesus brought from heaven, is this: "he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me. ( Matthew 16:24) Following Jesus certainly brings some things to mind quickly in that one must surrender to Him and His way of doing things! If we are struggling to give up our plans for His, why are we doing that ? He is life everlasting and He is peace!

Are we desiring our own agendas? Are we looking for platforms in using someone's demise to use for ourselves and our own agenda?
What I mentioned earlier in this writing, that when I was finding yard work pleasing, mowing the grass without excess heat, I was motivated beyond the work itself and see what was going on around me and mine. When taking my mind off the work itself I was free to enjoy the moment I was in.
In our Christian faith we believe God is one! We believe Him the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. We believe what is given that Jesus is the only way to the Father.  We live by faith in Jesus as our Lord and Savior and we believe we will be with Him forever. He has gone to prepare a place for those who believe. ( John 14:1-6)

When you consider say Hinduism: it has two known non-negotiable beliefs: that is karma and reincarnation. They will not stray from that belief. Islam believes that Mohammad is the last and final prophet. They believe that their Quran is the perfect revelation given. To deny those two precise points, one has denied Islam.

My husband and I have been watching at times some adventure trips of an archaeologist who travels around the world looking for that which is a part of this mystery earth. He has looked for the ark, to looking for Yeti, searched the areas where the dead sea scrolls were discovered and finding gold from treasures of the early Spaniard explorers.
In this I was thinking of the last few days of Moses who had tried to relieve the oppression of the Israelites on his own strength  and nothing happened. He had this pull toward his people the Hebrews yet, he had been raised as an Egyptian.  And although well educated and trained to live the life he would live, he still had the dress of an Egyptian,  and he wore the classic coloring on the face and the jewelry to match that lifestyle.

There was some changes that had to occur for Moses. And like him, we too can run headlong into the thing we think God is allowing but the time is not right nor is He with you in it. God was tuned into what He desired for Moses to complete. That was to lead a million or so people out of the hand of an Egyptian Pharaoh.  Was Moses sincere in what he believed? Yes, but no matter how sincere the person, anything outside the will of God is futile!
It amazes me today to see so many desiring to help a race of people which is all wonderful. But the best place to start is at the beginning. In the beginning God....created the heavens and the earth. And another place is to find where one's ethnic group has been in history is of your nation. For where we live in America it is found in the Wallbuilders by David Barton.

We certainly need to see where we have come from to know where we are going. If you asked citizens of this nation how many of the signers of the Declaration of Independence were slave owners....you might hear all fifty-six of them. But in truth only one: Thomas Jefferson was a slave owner. The others all held the black man free to live as others in freedom.
If you asked someone within this nation of America, how many black leaders were with Washington in the boat when he crossed the river at winter time, in the depths of winter, cold, and ice....to battle?  You might hear none! Yet at the front of that boat were two military leaders who were men of color and who served for some seven years alongside Washington himself. Again, go check this out in Wallbuilders by David Barton!

We must be in the will of God for in that we work together to build something God has in His plan. It does not matter if you think you have a noble or the pure heart but that the real success comes from God and when the enemy does not want you to know your true heritage you are doomed.

Yes, in remembering Moses and his willing to help God....he should have waited for God. And God's will for Moses came some forty years later! So what had occurred in that time period for Moses?  Well, he became the truly humbled and converted. He had given himself to God to such an extent that he was almost afraid to move, and God had to bring him back a way to restore some of his initiative. However, now that initiative would be used in harmony with a strong relationship with Him. Since Moses truly had the fear of God, he took God into account in every action. That is what the fear of God does to a person: It makes a person consider God and His desires in everything that he does.

Yes, there are many people who have strong beliefs. They believe in reincarnation and karma. They are those who believe Mohammad is the last and the final prophet. Others believe Jesus and satan are somehow related. And still others believe they cannot tell you about someone who is going through a situation for in that you the person might cause them harm by words spoken over them. A belief must not only be strong but it must be right. It is proved right in the process of living. It is where righteous actions will produce that godly fruit. This is why Jesus said, "You will know them by their fruits. " (Matthew 7:16) It is in this that the fruit of a person's life will reveal what that person believes. Because those in God will reveal God-ordered actions and one will not turn to the right nor to the left to change them.

Yet, there exist Christians who choose lie about a health condition of a loved one. Instead of denying that ugly thing that has appeared in that loved one, they would rather lie, turn from God, choose that which is of the enemy and bring destruction on their heads.

It is God Who desires us to come into the capacity He created to not only release but to also demonstrate the levels of His kingdom power and authority. But many belief systems in the Christian must become to that upgrade in Him! Is our security in trying to protect we four and no more? Are we coming into an "unbelief' that revels that we unwilling to let go of that security package we have held for so long? I have seen it in so many families the last ten years. Someone is going through something, and they hide it. They say all is good and then you find out these folks were seriously ill to the point of dying. Lying to protect something going on with a family member, the loving member tries to throw sand on it and think it is covered like Moses did! Nothing stays covered if you are lying about something as to a health issue. Why put yourself in a box and be like that wasp who will eat others like him only to die like he did!

We had a small poodle many years ago that she thought she could bury her dog treat in our daughter's boot. And all "the poodle" had was carpet and no dirt,  and she would scratch the carpet with her small paw, and push that same carpet using her nose to cover the treat. YEAH, that did not work at all!

I certainly will not encounter what the wasp encounters when entering a yellow-colored cone shaped object beckoning exploration. I will certainly not share the life experiences that say my neighbors have next door nor will have have the same life experiences my sister and brother-in-law have encountered.

Except one thing like the Eagle Creek Fire of 2017, the people of this small community and many others like this one would relate to it when seeing the hills on fire when someone decided to throw live fireworks on dry brush. Yeah stupid is as stupid does!  But one thing we all must take note in, as I am certain the wasp did, that within in his dire strait fear became real to him.

And we, a people, can identity with pain, identify with suffering, with rejection, with heartache and loss indeed. We have to know where we have come from to where we are headed. We must know truth and hold that truth. As the body of Christ, I nor may husband can be everyone's rock but we know the Rock and can introduce you to HIM! And you and I can be drawn to other people to embrace them, yes in their hurt and give them truth. For it is only in unity of God's word and prayer do we hold together a people for God. When we do not do that, we are held in bondage of the enemy!

I ask you today to let ago of those days you lived in trenches of abuse, the trenches of hate and bitter resentment, trenches of disease like cancer..., the trenches of trying to protect others in religion instead of in the fear of God for it is God Who has given us life to live that is a good life. He did not come to make people sick, He came to heal!

Proverbs 6:16 These six things the LORD hates, yes, seven are an abomination to Him: 17 a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, 18 A heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, 19 A false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren.

There are things that are out of our control and lying is not a way to keep control. We must submit to God, James 4:7 reminds us of this: Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Freedom from demonic assault and oppression is accomplished by submitting to God. It is a complete dependence on His word with a trust of faith that we walk with Him.

I wonder how many will be alarmed to find they lived their life on a lie and that which was false although appearing good and had nothing to do with God?

Living in Oppression Does Not Bring Freedom

Was hearing this teaching this morning and it was a good one! This pastor is one out of California and we listen to him weekly. He taught to those  in attendance that they all required truth! I agree! And the truth is found in God's word and not in news articles or made up things from men's worldly thoughts and ways!

He continued to tell them that early people in the Bible and of course, he gave the years before Christ and then during His time and how the color of those living at that time were darker. He compared his skin color and continued to tell them that even Pharaoh even had dark skin. He went on to explain Noah and the sons he had and what areas they had settled after the flood. So after he had given this teaching I kept thinking of how people are living oppressed without freedom when they are held by the very color of their skin!

Jesus was not held by oppression but came to set captives free from every stinking thing that would hold a person down.

Here I give you some detail:

Genesis 9:18-28 NKJV Now the sons of Noah who went out of the ark were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. And Ham was the father of Canaan. 19 These three were the sons of Noah, and from these the whole earth was populated. 20 And Noah began to be a farmer, and he planted a vineyard. 21 Then he drank of the wine and was drunk, and became uncovered in his tent. 22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brothers outside. 23 But Shem and Japheth took a garment, laid it on both their shoulders, and went backward and covered the nakedness of their father. Their faces were turned away, and they did not see their father’s nakedness. 24 So Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done to him. 25 The he said: “Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants He shall be to his brethren.” 26 And he said: “Blessed be the LORD, the God of Shem, and may Canaan be his servant. 27 May God enlarge Japheth; and may he dwell in the tens of Shem; and may Canaan be his servant.”

Genesis 10:1-10 NKJV Now this is the genealogy of the sons of Noah: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. And sons were born of Japheth were Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras. 3 The sons of Gomer, wer Ashkenaz,, Riphath, and Togarmah. 4 The sons of Javan were Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim and Dodanim. 5 From these the coastland peoples of the Gentiles were separated into their lands, everyone according to his language, according to their families, into their nations. 6 The sons of Ham were Cush, Mizraim, Put and Canaan. 7 The sons of Cush were Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raaman, and Sabtechah; and the sons of Raaman were Sheba and Dedan. 8 Cush begot Nimrod; he began to be a mighty one on the earth. 9 He was a mighty hunter before the LORD; therefore it is said, “Like Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD.” 10 and the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.

Genesis 10:25 To Eber was born two sons: the name of one was Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided; and his brother’s name was Joktan.

So it was Ham who saw his father’s nakedness. And Ham’s sons were Cush, Mizraim, Put and Canaan. The Holman Illustrated Bible Commentary records that Ham’s descendants were associated with the regions of Africa and Arabia. Also Nimrod, from same family was a successful but aggressive empire builder.
It was this Nimrod that organized what would be the first secular government in what would be the city of Babel seen in Genesis 10:8-10.

It is what is known today as socialism in that only a few leaders at the top would actually profit from the labor of the majority beneath them. It was revealed that this Nimrod organized others in a short time to connect with other men in the areas they wanted to have in their empire and among those many cities each was ruled by that “self-willed” king! You can see that today in those who have a greed + pride that marks their competition style that enslaves others by economic manipulation.

Genesis.11:1-4  Now the whole earth was of one language,& of one speech. (lip).  2 & it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; & they dwelt there.  3 Then they said one to another, “ Come,  let us make bricks for stone & bake them thoroughly.” They had brick for stone, & they had asphalt for mortar. 4 & they said, Come, let us build ourselves a city & a tower, whose top may reach in to the heavens; let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.”

They did not want to be scattered for safety reasons. The increase of animals is increased when sin increases! The news of bears staying close to people’s neighborhoods and yes who built their new home in the backyard of bears seems common today as well as cougars running close to neighborhood’s  and schools, again due to building in the area that is country and home to the such. Have you lately checked the skies over the area of which you live? Take a walk outside or drive to the outskirt of your community and you will see turkey buzzards and the such. They are circling, waiting for the morsel to show up on their plate! We have noticed them where we live, and also by driving either west or east of here, and yes, the small communities have them as much as the bigger towns and cities do!

Genesis 11:5-9 NKJV BUT the Lord came down to see the city & the tower, which the sons of men had built.  6 And the Lord said, “Indeed, the people are one, & they have all one language; & this is what they begin to do: now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them.   7 Come, let US go down & there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.” 8 So the LORD scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, & they ceased building the city. 9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD confused the language of all the earth: & from there the LORD scattered them abroad upon over the face of all the earth.

In looking at the map of the nations of Genesis 10 we find the countries of Greece, Syria, Lebanon, Assyria, Persia, Jordan, Israel and Egypt. And the skin coloring was darker than say of those in what would be the European region.

In 1 Chronicles 1:19 to Eber were born two son: the name of one was Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided; and his brother’s name was Joktan.

At the time Peleg was born and of his life, God caused the land mass to separate into continents. It would be five generations when Abram would appear. He and his family were told to leave Ur of the Chaldeans and go to Canaan. Ur would be located in northern Mesopotamia and is identified with the city in southern Iraq. These were people with darker skin coloring. It is important to remember that when Noah got off that ark, only his family got off. It was eight people: Noah and his wife, and their sons with their wives. And the sons were to be fruitful and multiply. So if Adam was taken from the ground and we know he was by the scripture seen in Genesis 2:7, God breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. So this group seen after the flood would be the beginning of the lineage of man across the earth.

Today many people desire to know their lineage. They desire to know if they came over on the Mayflower, but still all have come from Adam and resembles the color of the earth. So there are those with conflicting opinions concerning people and their ethnicity.
After what occurred to the Tower of Babel, the Japhetic race went to the east of Europe and north of Asia to multiply the race!
Japheth is usually thought of as the “Father of the Europeans”. He is known to be the ancestor of all Indo-European nations. The majority of his descendants are situated in north western regions like Anatolia and Aegean.

He was given the word to enlarge in Genesis 9:27. His people would settle areas and enlarge to take the parts considered as Asia and the Americas. But Scriptures reminds us that a fraction would be separated until the conquest of the Shemite tribes would occur to drive them to the northern regions where they would occupy the South of Europe.

All these were descendants of color more or less, are still the same family, so what is the “problem”?
Certainly all came through what was of Noah and his sons. Men of color, including the Pharaohs, wise men, prophets, teachers, scholars, judges, and seamen, and even Jesus!
Even my own mother told me when we saw the movie of Cleopatra, that she, Cleopatra,  was really not considered the “white” but would have been a woman of color…..like all were people there! She continued to tell me that as more people traveled and settled in colder regions, the less sun they saw and more indoor time they experienced and endured the less tan their skin would appear. The colder the climates, the more likely a coat would cover to keep the sun's rays off the skin of a person!

Wow, does that not seem like what we are doing today…that time to endure "sheltered" in rooms with no sunshine but the light from a lamp or the light from the television set? I wonder if we should check our color chart guide or do we have one to see if we are much too pale?

No seriously, we all have the same blood, and just because you may be lighter in skin than me or darker does not change the truth that living in oppression does not bring freedom. We must come to the place and realize God knows best and He knows what He is doing. We are here by His choice and for His pleasure. And we should learn to get along with each other because He said so and not because of any man or woman thing, but because God is Father who cares and desires us to be one family: HIS!

Whether a family comes from the south China seas makes no difference from the family who comes from Norway, or even the Hawaiian Islands. God created, and God is love! He has desires for us as His own and as His, those sons of God, we are to abide in His Son, live by the power of the Holy Spirit and express His love to others. May the rest of 2020 be for His glory and to His love that prevails in us all that none of us will live in oppression or by oppressive rules of man but by the love and guidance of a holy Father in heaven. Amen.
