Loves Our Nation

Luke 7:1-10 NKJV Now when He concluded all His sayings in the hearing of the people, He entered Capernaum. 2 And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear to him, was sick and ready to die. 3 So when he heard about Jesus, he sent elders of the Jews to Him, pleading with Him to come and heal his servant. 4 And when they came to Jesus, they begged Him earnestly, saying that the one for whom He should do this was deserving, 5 "for he loves our nation, and has built us a synagogue." 6 Then Jesus went with them. And when He was already not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to Him, saying to Him, "Lord, do not trouble Yourself, for I am not worthy that You should enter under my roof. 7 Therefore I did not even think myself worthy to come to You. But say the word and my servant will be healed. 8 " For I also am a man placed under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to one, 'Go and he goes; and to another, 'Come and he comes; and to my servant, 'Do this' and he does it." 9 When Jesus heard these things, He marveled at him; and turned around and said to the crowd that followed Him, "I say to you I have not found such great faith; not even in Israel!" 10 And those who were sent, returning to the house, found the servant well who had been sick.

Now this text is also given in Matthew 8:5-13. And the book of Matthew was written to the Jewish person. The book of Luke was written to the Greek. Decades I heard this taught and thought always that Jesus was speaking to the centurion personally.....you know face to face. But when you put this text from Luke 7 next to it...Jesus was talking with those sent by the centurion! (first elders, then friends)

Now if this occurred today, the person would ask Jesus to come and when He said yes, this same person would put on a big-to-do for the event that Jesus was coming to heal someone. You would most likely see maybe a news network covering this event and how excited they were Jesus was coming to heal someone within their house, or family.

But according to this specific passage, Jesus is talking with those sent by the centurion in that he, the centurion, did not think himself worthy to stand before Jesus. Wow, what humility in a man, even though he had many men who took orders from him in the daily operations of the military.
But I want to point you to something specific here in that the centurion in verse 5 said "for he loves our nation and has built a synagogue."
This man had built us a synagogue for Israel. He also said the man loved Israel. Remembering this passage in Psalm 122:6-9 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem; "May they prosper who love you. 7 Peace be within your walls, prosperity within your palaces." 8 For the sake of my brethren and companions, "I will now say, Peace be within you." 9 Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek your good.

As we know of the house of the LORD, there is to be worship to God, having revelation of Him, to have unity among believers and to have God's justice. AND we are to seek the LORD'S good!

A man sought to seek out Jesus for his servant who was very ill and at the point of death. This centurion, even though a leader with much authority still kept his place in that pointed which pointed to faith that works. And this man's faith was that Jesus was and is the Healer! Within that, the centurion wanted Jesus to know what this man had done to see that Israel had another synagogue and how he loved the nation Israel.

Can that be said of us and would it be spoken about? Do we love Israel? Do we send monies to help love Jerusalem, to love Israel's people or are we those who kick Israel to the curb and use our monies to fund another 7 days at some theme park with water slides and the such?

Illness can certainly come to people. NOT that we should go looking for sickness but that we have to have proper foods and proper sleep to maintain a healthy body. Stress should be removed and loving others should be our priority. Yet, I wonder how many become ill and have not done anything to prosper. I wonder how many forget Israel and forget Jesus is a Jew!
Praying for the peace of Jerusalem was expecting an orderly society. Jerusalem the city of peace was to live up to the prayer being spoken over it.

The centurion sent first elders( verse 3) of the synagogue to speak with Jesus and then he sent others (friends)  while he stayed with the sick man under his roof!  He spoke this of this in (verse 6) saying, 'Lord do not trouble Yourself, for I am not worthy that You should enter under my roof. Verse 7: "Therefore I did not even think myself worthy to come to You but say the word and my servant will be healed.
Jesus spoke this in John 15:12-13 This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13"Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends. 14 "You are my friends if you do whatever I command you.

In pertaining to life, Christ Jesus is our example. He was and is always the supreme example of love on the earth! In the above we read of a man who gave through his responsible actions to help the Jewish people have a synagogue. His unselfish manner proved his love for that nation! Sacrifices produce peace and unity with God. And those who submit to the burden of bearing one's responsibilities before God is seen. Love and sacrifice is given by the ill man and the centurion in authority. He did not demand his way!  No, he sought the Lord in the manner worthy of He greater than any sickness or disease.
If you are ill today, have you built a synagogue? Have you loved the nation Israel? Have you pulled out your debit card or checkbook and sent monies to help an evangelist in Israel or send a pastor from this nation of America to minister the truth of God through Jesus Christ?
In this we should obey God! I certainly pulled out my checkbook and wrote a check to slap the devil in the face when confronted with something that affected my eyes. YOU want to mess with me devil ....."I will show you...here in this writing" and I did  and sent it to that place where Israel is given the word of God for salvation's.
Father God began this process and did it by loving those who did not even know Him. And the Son was sent and He obeyed the Father by the giving of His life in that which was not of royalty, or anything regal, but was of death and sacrifice on the Cross that represented shame. But the joy that was set before Him, He Jesus endured the Cross and came out on the other side victoriously. (Hebrews 12:2)
Today, if something of sickness has come to your house, ask yourself if you have prayed for the peace of Jerusalem and have you loved Israel in ways that will prosper you and your loved ones? For God will perform HIS word in our lives when we speak, believe it and act on it.
To God be all the glory.....Amen!

A Fervent Prayer

When we think of prayer, do we consider what the scripture mentions about the “fervent prayer of the righteous man that avails much (James 5:16)Now ‘fervent’ in the KJV dictionary fervent has the meaning of to be hot, to boil, to glow. As to boiling; as a fervent summer; fervent blood. To be hot in temper; vehement and also…..ardent; very warm; earnest, animated as in fervent zeal.

Romans 12:1-18 NKJV I beseech you therefore, brethren by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to the world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. 3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. 4 For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, 5 so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; 7 or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; 8 he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. 9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. 10 Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; 11 not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; 12 rejoicing in hope, patient in  tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; 13 distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality. 14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. 16 Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion. 17 Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. 18 If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.

So yes, this takes us through the steps of behaving like a Christian. Our lives should reveal fruit that has an interest in other people. As love is to be our guiding principle in those Christian relationships, our duties as that Christian should reveal that we pray for others and are intent on seeing after the needs of the saints!

If you have been watching any of the teachings from Voice of Prayer or Life Giving Wells, you know that Jesus was interested in the life of men to be saved. He knew it as that ‘special’ opportunity to come back to life that God presented in the Garden of Eden but Adam botched up big time.
Jesus, we know was praying in John 17 for those who would come to believe in His name and live by a faith that is revealed and active. So by reading the above scripture would you not think that Jesus was highly persecuted and yet fervently prayed in the garden before being handed off to Roman soldiers by the kiss of Judas?

In this last year, I had seen changes in my vision. And I had been told I would need some corrective things done. And the time had come six weeks ago to make that appointment. I know many my age can have some vision changes but have found out that younger people are having the same corrective surgery done because of their face time on the internet and cell phones. Yes, please watch out how much time you put into using that laptop or cell phone….and  all the amount of time you invest into all that bright light!

For over three years that word of surgery was mentioned but it always seemed that surgery could be put off for another five years or so. But this pass year, even confessing scripture, things still seemed to be in the way of seeing clearly and I had to take the step to have this surgery done.

Now did God choose not to heal me? I only know that He is with me whatever the tribulation or trial may be. But constantly my husband and I prayed, confessed and believed to have that faith walk where changes appear, even suddenly. Still I went in to be told what needed to occur and had one eye done so far. Another yes will be done soon.

What I want to point to is that my husband and I started all this process years ago in prayer! We started in the beginning to speak as God would speak and yes, my husband would correct me when my mouth and my heart needed God’s GPS and not the world’s GPS.
We moved to speak in that wise faith of God and come to the HEALER! We focused on being the persistent in faith. And for me, I wanted to walk through with my head high and my heart praising God all the day long. My husband I prayed for the surgeon who would perform the eye surgery. And we desired that if they (he or she) did not know Jesus that they would see evangelists and disciples of Jesus Christ on their pathway soon and be saved.
The other thing we always mentioned and for me daily was that I would have the opportunity to pray with someone and have the time to give testimony of the love of God. I would not be intimidated by the dark glasses that they make you wear once you have this surgery done. I would continue to display my Lord and Savior to all who came across my path.

I still know Jesus as the HEALER/ the great PHYSICIAN…and I know Him who will never leave nor forsake me. And we prayed for others to know the Healer and KNOW HIM for His goodness in the land of the living. I would tell anyone to go get this surgery done if they require it and make sure the Lord is with you.
We should not want to sit around and complain about the woeful condition, but be willing to say, “LORD I know you are with me….YOU will never forsake me and thank YOU for being here in what I consider that hour of need. With that active faith, I chose to move through the process and greet people who minister in the ways of the medical field and I tip my hat to them for their gracious acts of kindness and mercy to both myself and my husband. They answered the questions we needed to ask and they were willing to wait awhile with you to make sure all is well for the trip home and even then  after you are home for some time they call to check on how you are doing.

On the day of the surgery, we were led to this room where other men and women of all ages were to get the same procedure done. There were several attendants and they each had a specific thing to do as they greeted you and called you by name. They came one by one, and left you with things: like a small dot over which eye was being done, they would leave hardware attached to your hands that would be hooked up to a machine during the surgery. Another took the blood pressure and another gave that dropperful of valerian like substance to take the edge off. YIKES!
The next step was the shot under the ‘eye’ to be done. One long needle will do it. And then I was placed in a chair close to the room that the procedure would take place. And God's best surprise, the surgeon herself came out to take me by the arm and walked me back to the room for the surgery and she talked about what we would be doing together!
And the greatest thing of the LORD being in that place: the surgeon asked if she might pray for us….and I agreed……….and the prayer she prayed was the very same prayer my husband and I have been praying from the beginning. Dr. Choe and I had agreement. It was heaven touching earth. Yes, He is still with me and every check-up is good, still I keep my praise going up and I still confess scriptures for tomorrow is another day in the Lord and I am excited to see where He will appear to see His glory fill this land. Yes, this is for His glory and it is to His praise! Amen.

Finding the Will of God

Finding God's Will
1 Thessalonians 5:14-19 NKJV Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the faint-hearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all. 15 See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all. 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything giving thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 19 Do not quench the Holy Spirit.

Yes, this is written to the church folks! Warning the unruly is important.  Now the unruly are those who are idle. They seem to not get into any movement for God. They appear at church or even Bible study, but it appears they are  there for the fellowship and not to learn more of their Creator or of His Son Jesus Christ. These unruly can come under the classification as the insubordinate as they do not respect the pastor nor the teacher at the teaching of God's word. They sit idle to do their own thing! They will also resist anyone they judge as not important and will actively not respect their guidance. You can see that with young teens today.
They are willful in their actions when they refuse to do what they are asked to do. When confronted for an inappropriate language or even the non-verbal expression of dissatisfaction such as eye rolling gesture, then the person is considered unruly.  Do you have anyone like this living within your home?

For us to comfort the faint-hearted is also given to us in Hebrew 12:12. Hebrews 12:11-17 NKJV Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. 12 Therefore strengthen the hands which hand down, and the feeble knees, 13 and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated but rather be healed. 14 Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: 15 looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled, 16 lest there be any fornicator or profane person like Esau, who for one morsel of food sold his birthright. 17 For you know that afterward, when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought it diligently with tears.

As the born again believer, we have rights and we have responsibilities. As the believer we are faith people. We have the same faith our Father has. In this we speak as our Father spoke at the Beginning...."light be"!  We speak God's word into existence in our own lives as He spoke. Our lives are not be about fleshly gratification but about making a difference in this world that brings glory to our Father and that we should be about doing.

A divine right is found in John 3:15..... "That everyone who believes in Him [God’s Son] has eternal life.”

So in that very moment that we believe in Jesus Christ as our Savior we exercise this first of our divine rights. We participate in God’s life. Let me say that this is not a free pass to get out of a mess, but it is the new pathway for the believer to participate in God's eternal life. There is the possible wild seeds sown that will come to harvest and whatever those seed sown might show in an teens pregnancy, a disease picked up while having a fling even though married for twenty-five years.   We should not view our salvation as that ticket to heaven, but understand God by His word directs us to understand and to share His eternal life with others as He has given to us. (see in John 1:12-13)

Believing in Jesus Christ comes to salvation, is repentance and comes by the power of God, His Holy Spirit, the same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead!
So to comfort that faint-hearted, we must be equipped with that which comes by the Holy Spirit and is alive in us with that power. We give thanks for this!

In 2 Peter 1:4 Peter says,  “Through which He [God] has granted to us precious and exceedingly great promises that through these you might become partakers of the divine nature…”   In searching out God our Father, we see His promises revealing His nature to us. And it is the table He prepared for us to partake of these precious life giving bites of life that is eternal.

God's word feeds our spirit man, and gives light to operate in the fallen world of which we still live. As the born again believer we are born again to God's way of thinking. And we can claim this divine right every morning we awake!
1 Timothy 4:6 tells us that if you instruct the brethren in these things, you will be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished in the words of faith and of the good doctrine which you have carefully followed. We read His word and find His thoughts. Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.  So we cannot operate by the old man's thoughts but by those God has for us to live by.

So from 1 Thessalonians 5:14.... We are to uphold the weak! And we find this in: Romans 14:1 "receive one who is weak in the faith, but not to disputes over doubtful things". Again we have the Holy Spirit to guide us in this situation.

We are to be patient with all and are not to render evil for evil to anyone. Yes, church folks should not be about doing evil or planning evil on another person. YOU and I are to be about what is good both for ourselves and for all. And then we are to rejoice always. Giving thanks to God for all that He has planned for us is so important to hear and stay within His will for us! We are to be those willing to pray for our leaders in high places, pray for our communities and states of which we live. But the major point here is that we do not quench the Holy Spirit of God! It is in Him that we live, move and have our being. Jesus died to give us life and the Holy Spirit and by the Holy Spirit we are activated  to participate in the plan of God!

Luke 24:49 "Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high."
We have been enabled by the Holy Spirit to carry out the task. Finding the will of God is giving thanks for all that He has done through His Son for us. And we give thanks through situations but it's not about the situations. You should never thank God for cancer when cancer is of the devil , the evil one, the destroyer.
God came to give life abundantly and when we seek to worship and give thanks to Him daily, we find that desire of God coming through us that He purposed for us to do. Yes, some may be called in the business arena, some in the medical field, the scientific exploration of this world, the oceans or even the moon!

Jesus obeyed His Father and we should be willing to do that too. We should not be rolling our eyes, and only willing to do that which suits that fleshly fancy, but our obedience is the response of faith to any instruction from our Father God. And God's manifested presence and will is revealed when we choose to follow Him, stay close to communicate and worship Him with thankful hearts.
Fall into the activity of worshiping Him and giving thanks today and you will most certainly find God's will for your life!
