When we think of prayer, do we consider what the scripture
mentions about the “fervent prayer of the righteous man that avails much (James 5:16)Now ‘fervent’ in the KJV
dictionary fervent has the meaning of to be hot, to boil, to glow. As to
boiling; as a fervent summer; fervent blood. To be hot in temper; vehement and
also…..ardent; very warm; earnest, animated as in fervent zeal.
Romans 12:1-18 NKJV I beseech you therefore, brethren by the
mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy,
acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed
to the world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may
prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. 3 For I say,
through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of
himself more highly than he ought to think but to think soberly, as God has
dealt to each one a measure of faith. 4 For as we have many members in one
body, but all the members do not have the same
function, 5 so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members
of one another. 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is
given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our
faith; 7 or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in
teaching; 8 he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he
who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. 9 Let love be
without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. 10 Be kindly
affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to
one another; 11 not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;
12 rejoicing in hope, patient in
tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; 13 distributing to the
needs of the saints, given to hospitality. 14 Bless those who persecute you;
bless and do not curse. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those
who weep. 16 Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on
high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own
opinion. 17 Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the
sight of all men. 18 If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live
peaceably with all men.
So yes, this takes us through the steps of behaving like a
Christian. Our lives should reveal fruit that has an interest in other people.
As love is to be our guiding principle in those Christian relationships, our
duties as that Christian should reveal that we pray for others and are intent
on seeing after the needs of the saints!
If you have been watching any of the teachings from Voice of
Prayer or Life Giving Wells, you know that Jesus was interested in the life of
men to be saved. He knew it as that ‘special’ opportunity to come back to life
that God presented in the Garden of Eden but Adam botched up big time.
Jesus, we know was praying in John 17 for those who would
come to believe in His name and live by a faith that is revealed and active. So
by reading the above scripture would you not think that Jesus was highly
persecuted and yet fervently prayed in the garden before being handed off to
Roman soldiers by the kiss of Judas?
In this last year, I had seen changes in my vision. And I had been told
I would need some corrective things done. And the time had come six weeks ago
to make that appointment. I know many my age can have some vision changes but
have found out that younger people are having the same corrective surgery done
because of their face time on the internet and cell phones. Yes, please watch
out how much time you put into using that laptop or cell phone….and all the amount of time you invest into all that
bright light!
For over three years that word of surgery was mentioned but it always
seemed that surgery could be put off for another five years or so. But this
pass year, even confessing scripture, things still seemed to be in the way of seeing clearly and I had to take the step to have this
surgery done.
Now did God choose not to heal me? I only know that He is with me whatever the tribulation or trial may be. But constantly my husband and I prayed, confessed and believed to have that faith walk where changes appear, even suddenly. Still I went in to be told what needed to occur and had one eye done so far. Another yes will be done soon.

But constantly my husband and I prayed, confessed and believed to have that faith walk where changes appear, even suddenly. Still I went in to be told what needed to occur and had one eye done so far. Another yes will be done soon.
What I want to point to is that my husband and I started all
this process years ago in prayer! We started in the beginning to speak as God
would speak and yes, my husband would correct me when my mouth and my heart
needed God’s GPS and not the world’s GPS.
We moved to speak in that wise faith of God and come to the
HEALER! We focused on being the persistent in faith. And for me, I wanted to
walk through with my head high and my heart praising God all the day long. My
husband I prayed for the surgeon who would perform the eye surgery. And we desired
that if they (he or she) did not know Jesus that they would see evangelists and
disciples of Jesus Christ on their pathway soon and be saved.
The other thing we always mentioned and for me daily was
that I would have the opportunity to pray with someone and have the time to
give testimony of the love of God. I would not be intimidated by the dark
glasses that they make you wear once you have this surgery done. I would
continue to display my Lord and Savior to all who came across my path.
I still know Jesus as the HEALER/ the great PHYSICIAN…and I
know Him who will never leave nor forsake me. And we prayed for others to know
the Healer and KNOW HIM for His goodness in the land of the living. I would
tell anyone to go get this surgery done if they require it and make sure the
Lord is with you.
We should not want to sit around and complain about the
woeful condition, but be willing to say, “LORD I know you are with me….YOU will
never forsake me and thank YOU for being here in what I consider that hour of
need. With that active faith, I chose to move through the process and greet
people who minister in the ways of the medical field and I tip my hat to them for
their gracious acts of kindness and mercy to both myself and my husband. They
answered the questions we needed to ask and they were willing to wait awhile with
you to make sure all is well for the trip home and even then after you are home for some time they call to check on how you are doing.
On the day of the surgery, we were led to this room where other men and women of all ages were to get the same procedure done. There were several
attendants and they each had a specific thing to do as they greeted you and
called you by name. They came one by one, and left you with things: like a
small dot over which eye was being done, they would leave hardware attached to
your hands that would be hooked up to a machine during the surgery. Another
took the blood pressure and another gave that dropperful of valerian like
substance to take the edge off. YIKES!
The next step was the shot under the ‘eye’ to be done. One
long needle will do it. And then I was placed in a chair close to the room that the procedure would take place. And God's best surprise, the surgeon herself came out
to take me by the arm and walked me back to the room for the surgery and she talked about what we would be doing together!
And the greatest thing of the LORD being in that place: the
surgeon asked if she might pray for us….and I agreed……….and the prayer she
prayed was the very same prayer my husband and I have been praying from the
beginning. Dr. Choe and I had agreement. It was heaven touching earth. Yes, He
is still with me and every check-up is good, still I keep my praise going up
and I still confess scriptures for tomorrow is another day in the Lord and I am
excited to see where He will appear to see His glory fill this land. Yes, this
is for His glory and it is to His praise! Amen.
