Enduring Faith

Enduring by faith: Romans 1:17   NIV

17 For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith."   Speaking words of faith…

Diligently Seek Him: Hebrews 11:5-6    NIV…..5 By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death; he could not be found, because God had taken him away. For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God. 6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Enoch walked with God. He had relationship with Him. He did have to run to catch up to HIM!

VERSE 6:  Without faith, it is impossible to please God.

Living by Faith, receiving His promises: Hebrews 10:36-39      NIV

36 You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. 37 For in just a very little while,

"He who is coming will come and will not delay.

38 But my righteous one will live by faith. And if he shrinks back, I will not be pleased with him."   39 But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved.

Philippians 1:25-30   Amplified Bible……………25 Since I am convinced of this, I know that I shall remain and stay by you all, to promote your progress and joy in believing and glorying in Christ Jesus, through my coming to you again. 26 So that in me you may have abundant cause for exultation. 27 Only be sure as citizens so to conduct yourselves [that] your manner of life [will be] worthy of the good news (the Gospel) of Christ, so that whether I [do] come and see you or am absent, I may hear this of you that you are standing firm in united spirit and purpose, striving side by side and contending with a single mind for the faith of the glad tidings (the Gospel) 28 And do not [for a moment] be frightened or intimidated in anything by your opponents and adversaries, for such [constancy and fearlessness] will be a clear sign (proof and seal) to them of [their impending ] destruction, but [a sure token and evidence] of your deliverance and salvation, and that from God. 29 For you have been granted [the privilege] for Christ’s sake  not only to believe in (adhere to, rely on and trust in) Him, but also to suffer in His behalf. 30 So you are engaged in the same conflict which you saw me [wage] and which you now  hear to be mine [still].

From verse 27 are we those worthy of the good news the Gospel so that we stand firm in united spirit and purpose that God sent forth?

It is God’s grace which causes us to throw ourselves at the feet of the Lord Jesus. It should certainly look like praise and much rejoicing for His pleasure. For He granted us salvation through Jesus and by His grace to us,  we have a life abundantly forever which we have not earned nor have we merited. It is only through Jesus that we live, move and have our being.

Hebrews 10:22-25    NIV…………22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. 25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another-and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

1 Corinthians 16:13-14    NIV

13 Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong. 14 Do everything in love.

May we on this journey with God always maintain what Paul had for all the churches. That whether there were false brethren, danger in the wilderness, sleeplessness with hunger or thirst….may our daily thinking keep watch over ourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made us overseers. May we be those shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood.

(circle of influence)   So be on your guard

The GUARANTEE of the Holy Spirit: Where Burden Turns to Wonder

As a Christians have you ever had somebody tell you they're out to get you? They are going to level you? They're going to get you fired, plotting against you, or are out to take your children or spouse? Maybe you've had children or a spouse turn against you. But what God commands is what is to be seen spiritually in our lives.  Heard of this Christian missionary going from their church overseas to be held captive by those who have evil hearts. Steven Riddle and his wife, pastors of a church here in the U. S. but went overseas to help. But in that which hurt came against them. But God gave them His peace that whether shot or not, they would come home and unite with friends and family. And they did. Their peace was preaching to others all the way home and the many months of rehabilitation in another country.

Acts 20:22-31  NIV…………..22 "And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there. 23 I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me. 24 However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me-the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace. (he is speaking of the task, that set before him was to testify)

25 "Now I know that none of you among whom I have gone about preaching the kingdom will ever see me again. 26 Therefore, I declare to you today that I am innocent of the blood of all men.   27 For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God. (the will of God is His Word)

28 Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood.  ( circle of influence)

29 I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock. 30 Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them. 31 So be on your guard! Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears.

Foundational Scripture: 2 Corinthians 1:6-24     NKJV……. 6 Now if we are afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effective for enduring the same sufferings which we also suffer. Or if we are comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation. 7 And our hope for you is steadfast, because we know that as you are partakers of the sufferings, so also you will partake of the consolation.      Jesus Christ, the hope of glory in us…Paul was encouraging them in their faith walk…

8 For we do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, of our trouble which came to us in Asia: that we were burdened beyond measure, above strength, so that we despaired ( some doubt) even of life.

Paul is stating information on his trials. From Asia probably meant his trials in Ephesus or even Lystra. He was sharing his trials with them, and how his endurance caused them to reap the benefits. Of those places Paul experienced the miraculous of God in his life. He experienced it by the Holy Spirit. He could walk away from a situation no matter how severe it was at the time.

By these trials, his life had been endangered, perhaps, more than once, and he had been called to look death calmly in the face. Of  all these trials;  he would not have the Corinthians ignorant; but desired that they should be made aware of them, that they might sympathize with him, and that through their prayers they might be turned to his benefit. ….. Paul was speaking of that which he had to contend whether it was with wild beasts or destroyed by the people.

2 Corinthians 11:22-28      NKJV

22 Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they the seed of Abraham? So am I. 23 Are they ministers of Christ?--I speak as a fool--I am more: in labors more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequently, in deaths often. 24 From the Jews five times I received forty stripes minus one. 25 Three times I was beaten with rods; once I was stoned; three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I have been in the deep; 26 in journeys often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils of my own countrymen, in perils of the Gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; 27 in weariness and toil, in sleeplessness often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness-- 28 besides the other things, what comes upon me daily: my deep concern for all the churches.

 2 Corinthians 4:8-12    NIV

8 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. 10 We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. 11 For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus' sake, so that his life may be revealed in our mortal body. 12 So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.

Perplexed  from verse 8…  is not having a way out…but not in despair that is…..at a loss…what is the situation and what do you do next…..???

 2 Corinthians 1:9

9 Yes, we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead, 10 who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver us; in whom we trust that He will still deliver us, 11 you also helping together in prayer for us, that thanks may be given by many persons on our behalf for the gift granted to us through many.

12 For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience that we conducted ourselves in the world in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom ( not of the old man) but by the grace of God, and more abundantly ( beyond measure the Word was preached)  toward you.

Living as the new man, in that godly sincerity, it was not in or by any man-made ideas of worship. The grace of God had been displayed by their opportunities to minister there.

Their testimony was to glory in the presence of God.  For it is by our faith our worship  pleases God…..God’s holiness is the foundation of everything else God is  and is totally and completely set in Him.  Whatever Paul did, it was always about serving God as the New Man.  Their trust had to be in God Himself.

Is our faith, that trust in God??? When we no longer see what was once our home, will we melt or will we stand for the Lord in this hour?

Side Effects

How many people know that they must read the label before using any product especially those with medical implications? How many actually read that label when say getting a prescription from a doctor, but in truth they end up throwing the Must READ page in the drawer to be read either later, tomorrow or never!

Said person then goes and takes the medication with a faith in the Doctor and never learning to read nor understand what that product might contain for ill health say as to worsening symptoms or even death! Then some would say , “well he is the doctor” and I would agree if he has all his degrees and credentials, but I am the other adult in the room and not a child to speak about such things. Thinking as the man that he is practicing medicine is practicing on you and you really need to know if he is really qualified. This appears just like the sports enthusiast who wants to be named to the NBA or named to the roster of team like the Texas Rangers as their number one pitcher! Each are practicing and each can come into a place they have not known in to regard of health of the body and the injury that can occur to it! But going full on into any treatment and not knowing its effects is foolishness!

In watching any commercial for pharmaceuticals, those requiring drugs for ailments with such names you have never heard of, but only find that said drug from an pharmaceutical can have twenty harmful effects or more and one of them is that which includes death.

But God’s word is to life and not to death. God’s word is health to us: Proverbs 4:20-27 NKJV  My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. 21 Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; 22 for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh. 23 Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life. 24 Put away from you a deceitful mouth, and put perverse lips far from you. 25 Let your eyes look straight head, and your eyelids look right before you. 26 Ponder the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established. 27 Do not turn to the right or the left; remove your foot from evil.

Health is what is good to maintain life. Putting God’s word in our hearts helps us to maintain that good health. His Word directs us into His thoughts and His ways! Have been watching the Chosen series again as the second season has started up again. And in watching these, I am reminded of Jesus ministering to all the lame, maimed and blind who came to see Him. In the series, they write of the disciples of those staying close by but not actually standing in close perimeter to Jesus as He ministers life to each person. In one specific one we saw over the weekend was where the disciples had to keep watch over those standing in line to see Jesus and it is no different today to the fighting and the bickering with people wanting something from Jesus and wanting to get to Him quickly. Yet, Jesus set forth the Father’s plan for healing and wholeness for the body to those seeking relief! We receive from Him knowing He is the Healer! It should never be about Him giving for the sake of giving but because our trust is Him to do what He said He would do!

So back to that medicine you are required to take, and have you ever given thought to the truth of the health in God’s word or the prosperity that is available by adhering to His truth? How much better His word heals than a man-made product does!

What is so awesome about God and what He has given us in the Bible, is that it has the Beginning in God, it has the middle, that is today and it has Future and that is with Jesus. No other religion has the God at the END……..where life continues with the LORD! Unless you have a living God, you have nothing! Unless our thoughts and ways come from God, we end up going around the mountain with no exit signs to get off from the monotony of the world. Monotony is hearing and doing the same thing expecting a different  result! I think that is why I love the series Chosen because it shows people wanting to learn the word of God and to speak it, to see it used and see the power of it now. We are to minister life to the world and not join it!

Ephesians 6:10-18 NKJV  10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

WE put on the divine nature of God to stand against the enemy who can and will use others to terrorize. We put on God’s character: His wisdom,  His will, His thoughts, His justice, His faithfulness, His righteousness, knowing He is all bountiful, all sufficient Who is revealed in Jesus. He who makes bitter experiences sweet being set apart to His plan and purpose for good, it is He who knew us from our mother’s womb.  He and His peace carries a peace which transcends all understanding, and garrisons and mounts guard over our heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 6:14 Stand, therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints---19 and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly as I ought to speak.

From verse 15 having shod our feet with gospel of peace, Jesus washed the disciples feet, He had already given them God’s word and continued to speak it to them. But He washed their feet, found in John 13:3-17. A concrete action, set in God, set in servant-hood, with a humble heart. Jesus is God and Jesus served as the servant with humility and much grace. Side effects would be in the grace to spread a testimony in the love of the Lord. Jesus gave instruction to them but He also gave them examples in love.

I think of David who would become king in the land of Israel. He the shepherd boy would take down a military might. He went to the valley where the giant stood, but David looked further into God his father. He, David gave accounts of his hours with the God of Israel. He wrote the book of Psalms and he gave prayers to his feet to run. He spoke and brought light to those in darkness.  Prayers to converse with God whether he was in dire straits, or far from his home, he found the words that spoke to God and God answered them.

He wrote in Psalm 25:9 The humble He guides in justice, and the humble He teaches His way. In this Psalm David was giving a plea for deliverance from his enemies and forgiveness. Whatever problems King David had within his heart, His nation would have troubles too. He mentions of deliverance from bondage's for Israel but we also know spiritual bondage's can appear too. What effects the world can have on anyone is to know this: fear is expecting the devil to move but faith is expecting the Lord. I heard many people speaking that they were waiting for the other shoe to drop, that is: they were expecting the devils tactics!

The devil certainly can be an architect for evil since he is the father of evil. Known also as an angel of light…..found in 2 Corinthians 11:14. He was found early on in Cain, son of Adam. Then the lineage continued to the Tower of Babel where many were set against God. But the line of Seth was godly, set for God to run the course for good. Washed feet is free from that which might attach to our walk with God. Washed feet is kept for God’s business and not for the enemy: the devil!

Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. He is our Way in this day, this week, this month, this year and forever. He is truth that delivers us from bondage's so that we can minister life to the world, not be one with the world.

In Psalm 25:12-15 David wrote this: Who is the man that fears the LORD? Him shall He teach in the way He chooses. 13 He himself shall dwell in prosperity ( meaning goodness), and His descendants shall inherit the earth. 14 The secret of the LORD is with those who fear Him. 15 My eyes are ever toward the LORD, for He shall pluck my feet out of the net.

He teaches in the way He chooses. There is spiritual prosperity. Truth is found in the mercy of God. His secret counsel is with close friendships, not one weekly meeting with the crowd. David, when bringing food to his brothers and those in the military facing Goliath, David looked beyond Goliath, he looked beyond the harsh words his eldest brother Eliab spoke to him that day. A harsh word can be spoken by someone close to you so that you are reminded to what side you are on! And one can choose the harmful effects of answering its call or you can refuse them and stay with God for the purpose set in your run with Him.

Some side effects of drugs: is the risk of having a stroke, profuse bleeding, can cause problems with surgery due to a medical or dental procedure, cannot be taken with pain meds as for headaches or other. Can cause joint pain, swelling that dizzy feeling or feeling weak. May cause swelling in feet and face. To some, the possibility of paralysis, numbness, tingling and oh yes, that problem it gives to your liver and kidneys. Yikes!

But with God’s word, going into your heart and being spoken out of your mouth, you have chosen life and not death. You have chosen your kidneys and liver to be strong! It is choosing the Healer. It is choosing life with the effects of our growth in the Lord. It is the place in Him where our souls find rest in Him alone for our hope comes from HIM.

We, Your people , Father, clothe ourselves as Your own picked representatives and Your chosen ones, who are purified and holy and well-beloved by You  are putting on the behavior that is merciful, and tenderhearted. In gentleness and patience, we have the power to endure whatever comes, with good temper. We are fore bearing with each other and if having any grievance with one another, are readily active to pardon each other. As You Lord, have freely forgiven us, so do we also forgive.

The Word spoken, alive and active has its home in our hearts.  It is Jesus Who sits on the throne of our hearts and that word dwells in us in all richness , as we teach, admonish, and train each other in all insight, intelligence and wisdom in spiritual songs, making melody to You, Father, with Your grace in their hearts.

Side Effects of moving away from God are those with darkness, agony with the heat of hell breathing out destructive forces. It will appear as a reality: the place of outer darkness, a place of weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth. A place created not for people but for the devil and his angels. ( Matthew 25:41)

Side Effects of the world are seen daily who choose to follow a sinful life, who persists in siding with the flesh but siding with God is love and being full of unspeakable joy. It is healing and health, strength and courage, it knowing when to stay silent and then when to speak. It is knowing by discernment the move of God! 2022 is not the year to be deceived by satan. He as light can make you think about the light of God, but he will force one or more of his own designs into the pot and when deceived by them, one can choose to follow him without any arm-twisting. But 2022 is the year for the believer with no side effects, those of the Lord’s where they move in the way of truth and grace. We arrive on the wings of Holy Spirit’s power to be in right places at right times for the plan of God. May we not be committed to that which causes side effects to death, but that which is to life and see with the light that shines at noonday in Jesus name. Amen.

A CONFIRMATION

Voice of Prayer: Picture by R. Twiner
Hebrews 9:27 NKJV 27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,
Paul writes in Colossians 2:11-14: In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. And you, being dead in your trespasses and the un-circumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.
Two points we must note here: first, it is God’s sovereign authority and almighty power that is the source from which mankind derives any ability to share in the exercise of the kingdom of God. And the second point, sinful man lost all privilege, he had no claim to the early ruler-ship given to man in the garden of Eden. The power is only restored to those who have received Jesus as Lord of their lives, it is by the grace of God and empowered by the Holy Spirit!

Every person who has lived on earth will die at some point in their life. We find from this passage in Colossians 2,  that the apostle explains that a Christian is free from the bondage of death because Christ's death has removed the charges of sin against us. Truth is given here; yet today there are those who think there are many pathways to heaven and to God. It sounds like a pick and choose time of which god you desire to choose for your own privilege. But when we continue to look into the pages of the doctrine given us by grace we find this: that Jesus, in Revelation 1:18, adds another factor in our favor or the favor for the saved one who has confessed Him as Lord of their life!

Revelation 1:18-19  NKJV states this: “I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.” Jesus Christ paid the price. 19 Write the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which will take place after this.
Here both present and future events are recorded.

That price was the penalty for our sins. At the Cross Satan was the defeated foe. Christ Jesus has the power and has given us authority too! The price paid for us was over the Second Death. Going further we find this in Revelation 20 and verse 14: “Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.  Detail is given to us in  Revelation 21:8 “But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

BUT we are to be prepared! As living stones, we are being built up as a spiritual house. That is called the holy priesthood.  1 Peter 2:4-5: NKJV 4 Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, 5 you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
Yes, this is confirmation to being prepared for something called the spiritual house that looks like and sounds like a holy priesthood. As His “special people”, we are the chosen generations, a royal priesthood, His own special people; that we may proclaim the praises of Him who called us  out of darkness into His marvelous light. (1 Peter 2:9)
As the living sacrifices, we deliberately choose to allow the Holy Spirit to change us into the image of Jesus Christ. That is, we allow the doctrine of the kingdom that has come go deep into our hearts and change our thinking where we follow after Jesus. We become obedient to His plan for our futures. Salvation is important to come into His kingdom but the paramount objective is to be leaders in His kingdom.

It is not about how many people we have in a congregation nor is according to how we as the leaders lead many people, but that we stand responsible to learn truth and teach truth. Being created into Jesus Christ’s image teaches us that. Leadership certainly is what God is looking for in you and in me! The most important note here is that we overcome our carnal natures. When we begin to see leadership in our lives leading others to truth then that becomes the norm for us. It comes by living by the spirit man that is led by the Spirit of God.

It is about being faithful as He is faithful.  As we allow more of His truth in, light dispels the darkness. We are to embrace and protect that which is truth.  We should not take part with that which is to unrighteousness.  Many today are becoming discouraged. They somehow choose not to stretch minds when thinking on Christ Jesus and the standard He represents!

Remaining in Christ Jesus is the real test. Keeping to the teaching of His truth shows where the heart lies! Many will say it is about whether you go to church or if you are staying out of church. But truly not about opinions but where the standard of God’s word is given without any interference in each person’s life. People are to be given the whole truth and not just pieces of it.

Then when truth is given them, then that truth is to be proclaimed. It is not just to be kept by you although that is important, but is about God  who is desiring us who are grown spiritually to lead in the future world that is coming when Christ Jesus becomes the seated king in Jerusalem. If you cannot lead now, how could you possibly lead in the future!  May we not be cold, the frozen chosen and the depleted of life not to recognize that it is God who turns up the heat so that we not fall into a frozen lifestyle and frozen mentality that things will continue just as they have. For Jesus is returning and God’s Word will judge.

A Closing Point: In Revelation 21: 2-9 describes the setting of the Jerusalem come down from heaven. In Revelation 21 and verse 9 tells of the Lamb’s wife. Verses 22-27 gives details that nothing impure will ever enter the city’s gates. It is God’s “shekinah” glory that will be the light, yes, it is His own presence to shine in as the “holy place”. Those who enter, those nations and “the kings’ of the earth” will bring into this place their splendor. These kings stand for the peoples of the earth who are the very servants of Christ Jesus. Offerings will be brought to the throne of God. Those who belong to God will enter here. Their names are written the Lamb’s Book Life. Total loyalty will highlight these people. Truth will be their standard and their character will have the witness that glorifies God.
Confirmation is found among those who follow the process by submitting his all to God to gain the life Jesus came to give us. It is in the here and now one will be confirmed and not later. It is walking holy before God today remembering that it is given that a person will die once and then the judgment.
Which will we be at? Will we be leaders in the holy city of Jerusalem that is coming or will we find a different destination?
