A Harsh Word

Can you imagine a believer today receiving a harsh word? How about a word that is of God and still harsh? What if it could save your life and your loved ones? Would you receive it or go about your own business?

In the book of Esther, we find there is this occurrence! Today one would just say, “Well that is not of God and continue in their own opinion and plan!” Yes, it is sad but so true today!

In this book of Esther, we learn that Esther’s parents died and she is raised by her cousin Mordecai who is a scribe for the king. ( he adopts her as his own child) We learn that within the king’s partying mode, that Queens Vashti will not come before her drunken king husband nor before his drunken friends to coax their egos. No, she refuses and the king decides to get a new Queen.  She was not going to be brought down from her rightful place by marriage to the king to be ogled by his drunken lustful fiends!

In this day, the young women and girls are taken from their homes in Persia. They are kidnapped under the dark of night and are faithful to the instruction told them, and with that, they bring back as many young girls for the kings viewing.  (Yeah, I think they call them “harems”)

The process would begin with all the right beauty products, the right clothing, hairstyle, jewelry and perfumes, and would include even the foods they would eat. The process would take a year and then the “groomed” girl would come to stand before the king!

While in the home of Mordecai, Esther is raised to know the customs of her people. She also has the advantage of knowing the wisdom Mordecai has gained from the many years of walking with God. He had given her knowledge of the Holy One and he gave her insight  before she was taken by surprise to be given over to the king and his whims.

Now in this day, one might see this as sexual trafficking. Still the very lives of these people are portrayed in their actions to the hostile time of which they lived, the opportunity to uncover a conspiracy and hold out in prayer for God’s plan was seen. Would that hold true for our hearts?

Esther is chosen to be Queen. The hostile actions of people like Haman increases and choices will have to be made. In Esther 4: When Mordecai learned all that had happened, he tore his clothes and put on sackcloth and ashes, and went out into the midst of the city. He cried out with a loud and bitter cry. 2 He went as far as the front of the king’s gate, for no one might enter the king’s gate clothed with sackcloth. 3 And in very province where the king’s command and decree arrived, there was great mourning among the Jews, with fasting, weeping and wailing; and many lay in sackcloth and ashes. 4 So Esther’s maids and eunuchs came and told her, and the queen was deeply distressed. Then she sent garments to clothe Mordecai and take his sackcloth away from him, but he would not accept them. 5 Then Esther called Hathach, one of the king’s eunuchs whom he had appointed to attend her, and she gave him a command concerning Mordecai, to learn what and why this was.

Esther 4:6 So Hathach went out to Mordecai in the city square that was in front of the king’s gate. 7 And Mordecai told him all that had happened to him, and the sum of money that Haman had promised to pay into the king’s treasuries to destroy the Jews. 8 He also gave him a copy of the written decree for their destruction, which was given at Shushan, that he might show it to Esther and explain it to her, and that he might command her to go in to the king to make supplication to him and plead before him for her  people.

Esther 4:9 So Hathach returned and told Esther the words of Mordecai. 10 Then Esther spoke to Hathach, and gave him a command for Mordecai: 11  “All the king’s servants and the people of the king’s provinces know that any man or woman who goes into the inner court to the king, who has not been called, he has but one law: put all to death, except the one to whom the king holds out the golden scepter, that he may live. Yet I myself have not been called to go in to the king these thirty days.” 12 So they told Mordecai Esther’s words.

Esther 4:13 And Mordecai told them to answer Esther: “Do not think in your heart that you will escape in the king’s palace any more than all the other Jews. 14 For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” 15 Then Esther told them to reply to Mordecai: 16 “Go, gather all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and fast for me; neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will fast likewise. And so I will go the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish.”

Mordecai, clad in sackcloth and ashes descended to the city square! He has heard a harsh word. Death would be coming to take out the Jews. And in his mindset of a prophet he sits and mourns in the square. He is pronouncing what is coming. There is the sound of hoofbeats with riders descending on a nation set to destroy a people. And Queen Esther sends out a word. She has come to the king’s palace. She has dressed in fine apparel, she has eaten the finest foods and had the fabulous treatments of a spa in her own home. And now Mordecai, does this act and speaks these things! Harsh word is given and she has heard it. But she wants to dress him and tell him everything will be okay. Let me dress you up, and here put on gladness because of these fabulous glad type clothing I have here. Come on and cheer up and let me clothe you and feed you with the finest from the king's table!

But all is not good for the Jews! And it is he who tells her so. Mordecai knows the heart of Haman and his destructive plan for the Jewish people. Mordecai would not bow before Haman and now this thing is appearing on the horizon and it is now growing substantially. A man with a hatred toward the Jewish people is more apparent with  money paid, and violence is heard and the horses with riders, yes, the men ride to send out the decree!

Esther 4: 13 And Mordecai told them to answer Esther: “Do not think in your heart that you will escape in the king’s palace any more than all the other Jews. 14 For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

Here Mordecai, reminds her to not think in her own heart that she will escape in the king’s palace and even more than all the other Jews. He says even more, for in this he is reminding her of her place among the Jews and the heritage her parents had for her long ago. He is telling her to not wrap this hostile action against the people in fine apparel, with the finest that is found in the palace among the king and his men. No one can serve the world and God also! You cannot have two masters. And what are you serving when you go for the quiet time, that quiet moment with God? Did you bring back loads of revelation or just find you like being left to your own? It took Mordecai, Esther the Queen and many servants to pray for the righteousness of God to be seen in the land in a tremendous time of hatred! And everyone would be affected by this hate: both adults and the children and future children of this nation!

Where has God placed you in this nation? Where has He planned for you to live in this world? For those who really hear, will know in the midst of chaos God rules from a quiet heart that is ruled by Him. In the midst of great noise, God can hear in the softness of His speaking. Instruction came!

Whatever beauty she had, whatever grace held, she only had left of what God could and would do in a believing and faithful heart. We cannot wrap the world around what God is doing! We cannot wrap the world around just anything and call it good! No! What we should take note of is, like Mordecai went in the extreme manner, to display the importance of what was about to occur to a people: certain death! Dressed in sackcloth and ashes, he mourned for that which belonged to God! He mourned for a people of God.

And his response to Esther is one that she can die in the palace as well as those outside could and would die. But he reminds too, that she has come to the palace for such a time as this and that being tuned to God in this hour is paramount to ending with God. She is impacted by a greater purpose than just her own comfort and status quo. By her uncle's words she is turned from her own self-interests to the plans and purposes of God. Her heart had to have purity to go and do for the Lord.

A harsh word she had heard! A harsh word she had to receive or end in death with many people. A harsh word by Mordecai the prophet, to a Queen, to be reminded what side are you on!

May we not be short-sighted. May we be women and men, too, who will delight in heart and receive correction when it is for a people of a nation that God calls his own for His purposes and to His praise. Shine, you are made for this day and this hour to pray, hear from God above the noise and run with purpose.

In my own life, I remember loving those quiet moments, those minutes that evolved into many hours of prayer and study of God's word. For talking with Him is still my favorite hearts desire. I can wear those ear buds, have my phone in hand, but the language is by the Holy Spirit and the word I hear is God's by His own voice! ( for we are to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added to us. So when our God is daily added as first for twenty years, one would have that walk established, and it would be to His will, purpose and glory to pursuing His call for our lives. Also remember that seeking His kingdom and His righteousness always comes with knowing those who will receive His word of truth and who will not receive that word of TRUTH in Jesus. For Matthew 7 is a continuation of Matthew 6 and He warns of preaching or teaching the Gospel to those who would cheapen the Word, the Gospel of Grace. He called them dogs and swine!) Yikes!

And I remember the day, our daughter and new son-in-law were arriving at Seatac. I remember having to stop that regular routine in my day to get to the airport at the right time. And as I drove there about mid-afternoon, I remember the Lord speaking to me to be able to hear in and above the noise. He said to me back then in 2002 that noise would be the rule in the world. He revealed noise would become a real burden. He also warned me to be able to discern by what was His speaking and what was of the world.  Yes, that of the world you know of like: the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and that pride thing!

So I began that day: getting up early, spent time in prayer, did some things around the house, headed to the airport about an hour earlier than required. I got parked, headed into the terminal and got a coffee and sat. I did not find that "quiet" out of the way little table by the wall.  Did not go search out a cubby hole somewhere! No, I found an empty seat with a loud T.V overhead playing loudly the days news events. And the noise was great and it increased while I sat there. And I prayed even more, but I could hear Him speaking and what a wonderful time I had at the airport waiting to meet and greet my family back from their honeymoon.

1 Thessalonians 4 reminds us of comfort of Christ’s coming. In verse 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the triplet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first, be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words. 1 Thessalonians 5:1 But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. 2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. 3 For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. 4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. 5 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober ( self-control) 7 for those who sleep, sleep at night, those who get drunk are drunk at night. 8 But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love and as a helmet the hope of salvation. 9 For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him. 11 Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.

Yes that "peace and safety" and then that sudden destruction. I tell my husband daily I love him so that I miss not an opportunity in case of a sudden thing.

Of late, we have seen a number of those documentaries of Draining the Ocean. And in a couple I saw this last weekend was eye openers. Draining the Ocean in a number of areas, yes, with that new technology, they uncovered vast amounts of volcanoes erupting, vast amount of fault-lines in the oceans, especially the mid-Atlantic ridge that runs all the way to Iceland. And this can give way to an earthquake under the ocean that can cause cities to be taken over by extreme sized tsunamis in minutes and in some cases even in seconds. We also saw one such volcano under the ocean that exists off Italy   ( the west side). We saw how vast the destruction would be from one erupting under the ocean that would give way to the earth sinking into the oceans depths. They know this because it had occurred before to another thriving community hundreds of years ago. How far reaching would such the magnitude of a volcano erupting within the depths of salt water that could overtake a country in under some thirty minutes and how much great destruction would be experienced. For they noted one such community was hit by the volcanic eruption, then a tsunami and then a second eruption that led to more than two years of winter. In moments a great quake can take out cities along coast lines and wash out hundreds of miles of land inland. And that is done underground, so can you imagine above the ground and what you might see? We have one such volcano that erupts regularly that  we keep watch on off the coast of Oregon and it is growing in size indeed! (you know that is how the Hawaiian islands were formed, right?)

Let us be of the day, lights shining bright, not to given to much sleeping when we should be awake. Not to being drunk in our own vanity but having a breastplate of faith and love. As the Christian we are to enjoy the advantages of being in the light. It is to avoid those potentially dangerous and destructive surprises given in the darkness.

In the lives of Mordecai and Esther, we recognize honor. Honoring God, these were honoring His people, and to behave in Him so that when an unbeliever sees, they will honor God and Him as their source of godliness. Each of us can most likely say we have lost a loved one in the last two years. And some might even say that loss occurred during 2020 and also 2021, but we expect to see those loved ones again. Our comfort is receiving God and His word and however harsh it might seem, we would do well to obey and move by His Holy Spirit to see His kingdom to continue to come into our lives and see His glory fill this earth indeed!

Because we can see things can change in an instant of time! Anyone ready to receive a place for a "harsh word"?

What Will We See in This Day

Seeing that which is life within our day is seeing future for tomorrow! What we receive in our hearts determines whether we receive God's truth or man's words and dark wisdom! Will we see with the eyes of faith or that of unbelief?

What will we see in this day?

Luke 24:13-35    NKJV 13 Now behold, two of them were traveling that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was seven miles from Jerusalem. 14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened. 15 so it was while they conversed and reasoned, that Jesus Himself drew near and went with them. 16 But their eyes were restrained, so they did not know Him. 17 And He said to them, “What kind of conversation is this that you have with one another as you walk are sad?”

18 Then, the one whose name was Cleopas answered and said to Him, “Are YOU the only stranger in Jerusalem, and have You have not known the things which happened there in these days?” 19 And He said to them, “What things?” So they said to Him, “The things concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who was a Prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people, 20  “and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered Him to be condemned to death and crucified Him.” 21 “But we were hoping that it was He who was going to redeem Israel. Indeed, besides all this, today is the third day since these things happened. “ 22 “Yes, certain women of our company who arrived at the tomb early, astonished us.” 23 “When they did not find His body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angles who said He was alive. 24 “And certain of those who ere with us went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said: but Him they did not see.”

25 Then He said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!” 26 “Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?” 27 And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.

28 Then they drew near to the village where they were going, and He indicated that He would have gone farther. 29 But they constrained Him, saying “Abide with us, for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent.” And He went into stay with them. 30 Now it came to pass, as He sat at the table with them, that He took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. 31 Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight.

32 And they said to one another, “Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?” 33 So they rose up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together, 34 saying, “ The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!” 35 And they told about the things that had happened on the road, and how he was known to them in the breaking of the bread.

The resident in our heart is the Lordship of Jesus. An entire Bible gives the Beginning and the End! Jesus came to spread the Word: Him manifested to declare God and His glory. And present is the Holy Spirit given in Acts 2:4. Those present within that prayer time were filled and spoke in languages they had never spoken before. Holy Spirit is the "Breath", the air we breathe. The same God who breathed into Adam is the same God who raised Jesus from the dead. And is He Who breathes into us and activates us when we speak His words! There are several appearances of Jesus. And who saw Him, who experienced His presence after the crucifixion?

It was Mary who told of seeing Him in the garden: John 20:11-18 NKJV 11 But Mary stood outside by the tomb weeping and as she wept she stooped down and looked into the tomb. 12 And she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. 13 Then they said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping?" She said to them, "Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him." 14 Now when she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, and did not know that it was Jesus. 15 Jesus said to her, "Woman why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?" She, supposing Him to be the gardener, said to Him, "Sire, if You have carried Him away, tell me where You have laid Him, and I will take Him away." 16 Jesus said to her, "Mary!" She turned and said to Him, "Rabboni!" ( which is to say Teacher). 17 Jesus said to her, "Do not cling to Me for I have not yet ascended to My Father, but go to My brethren and say to them. "I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God." 18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, that He had spoken these things to her. There are several appearances of Jesus that occurs. Other women, either on their way back to Jerusalem or on their way to Bethany tell the disciples that they too met Jesus on the road. Their response was that of wonder and yes of a joyful worship! Will we see Jesus on the pathway today?

We have seen that of Luke 24 where Jesus taught the two disciples and brought revelation where the Scripture had to be fulfilled. Here in Matthew 28, Jesus is seen, and gives instruction to rejoice!

Matthew 28:9-10 And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, “Rejoice”! So they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him. 10 then Jesus said to them, “do not be afraid, Go and tell My brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see Me.”

Yes, instruction is important to us. And when we are active in receiving the Lord’s instruction, we see Him! For instruction is seeing Him and hearing to obey: Marks 16:17 And these signs will follow those who believe: “In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues, 18 “they will take up serpents, and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover.”

Knowing Christ Jesus is Knowing His name and He Who lives! It is not the name of the media, nor show host that gives words importance. Nor is it the name of some billionaire, or a great city, but it is the name of Jesus that we speak. WE Speak Jesus for His is living and active. He is the Word made flesh to dwell with us. And the Holy Spirit is on the scene and ready to breathe that life into you and me. Daily we are to speak, not that of dead men’s words but those that are words of life about Jesus and the Holy Spirit Who has come! Purpose was before them! And purpose is before us and we must allow the Holy Spirit His way in our lives.

I had thought of this passage in Ezekiel. It speaks of when there is no hope as when our bones are dry, when all seems lost and there the people are cut off! Ezekiel 37:11 Then He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They indeed say, ‘Our bones are dry, our hope is lost, and we ourselves are cut off!

Let us look at: Ezekiel 37:1-14 NKJV  The hand of the LORD came upon me and brought me out in the Spirit of the LORD and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones. 2 Then He cause me to pass by them all around, and behold there were very many in the open valley; and indeed they were very dry.

Yes, these bones were so dry, the man or woman would not rise to live. They are in pieces!

3 And He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” So I answered, “O Lord GOD, You know.”

The prophet is telling God that it is only He can know if they will live!

4 Again He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, “O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD! 5 ‘Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones, “Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live. 6 “ I will put sinews on you and bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin and put breath in you; and you shall live. Then you shall know that I am the LORD.

& So I prophesied as I was commanded and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and suddenly a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to bone. 8 Indeed, as I looked, the sinews and the flesh came upon them and the skin covered them over; but there was no breath in them. 9 Also He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man and say to the breath ( breath of life), ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Come from the four winds, O breath and breathe on these slain, that they may live.” 10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath (breath of life) came into them, and they lived, stood upon their feet, and exceedingly great army. 11 Then He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They indeed say, ‘Our bones are dry, our hope is lost, and we ourselves are cut off!” 12 Therefore prophesy and say to them, “Thus says the Lord GOD: “Behold, O My people I will open your graves an cause you to come up from your graces and bring you into the land of Israel. 13 Then you shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O My people and brought you up from your graves. 14 “I will put My Spirit in you and you shall live and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I, the LORD have spoken it and performed it,” says the LORD.

God the Father told Ezekiel to prophesy to the dry bones. He commanded them to listen to the Word of the Lord! Creation is moaning and groaning and waiting for the Word of the Lord to bring forth what God purposed in Jesus and in us.

But manifestation cannot appear till the sons declare the Word of the Lord! It's time for YOU to arise and declare what God is saying to this generation! Ezekiel prophesied and the faith was released. There was a great noise. When faith rises, things shake loose in the heavenlies and in the earth! The Holy Spirit is in action moving!

As the Bible says in Haggai 2:6, "For thus saith the LORD of hosts; 'Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land...'" As we look throughout the world, things are being shaken, but don't be afraid! It is all a part of God's plan to bring forth restoration, restitution, and revival for His people! Look to your nation and people and do they not need some shaking? We need to be awakened to God, awakened to His Word and allow the Holy Spirit to breathe in us and that which we have created for His glory and His praise.

The word that Ezekiel began to declare brought forth God's manifestation, but it was incomplete because there was no breath in the regenerated bodies. You can see this in much the same way of that creating and visions of churches, of ministries,  of families and even in businesses, but they will not be complete until they are filled with the breath of the Spirit!

It was God who thought of this land we live in. It was God who has purpose for it. We speak His divine word of life over it. We release the wind of the Holy Spirit for future. From Moses to Elijah, even to the Day of Pentecost, the winds of God have all played a part in bringing God's will into the earth! The wind of the Holy Spirit is destiny for that purpose, power, prosperity, and passion! Habakkuk 2:4 “Behold the proud, his soul is not upright in him; but the just shall live by his faith.

That “ shall live” is (chah-yah) to live …to stay alive; to be preserved, to flourish, to enjoy life, living in happiness, to breathe. To recover health.

Be the “prophet” in your life and family. Prophesy God’s words. God speaks through pastors and teachers. He brings what is needed in that week and within that moment. Are we hearing and obeying what the Holy Spirit reveals to our hearts from the passage that is given to us?

We must understand that there are times the prophetic word is for correction and confirms that God knows what we have been doing in secret. Scripture tells us that what is done in darkness shall be brought into the light, and that which is done in secret shall be shouted from the rooftops (Matthew 10:27, Mark 4:22). It is the prophet's place to speak when God calls upon him or her to minister in a prophetic word of correction. If the prophetic word is received, the rebuke can bring comfort, exhortation, or edification.

Of God in you will be made known. What is not of God will also be made known. Sin certainly wants to hide and stay quiet so as not to bring anything about the Lord, but they will certainly display all kinds of pics of their parties and adventures to places angels would dare to go!

What part will you play in these end days? Holy Spirit can bring His wind to have change come. Jesus is our Cornerstone to set the right foundation. We must have the Scriptures opened to us. We must see them as representing purpose for God’s glory and praise. Because we can organize and order certain projects or plans we are the "busy ones", but without the breath of God on them, they will lie as in a coffin. We must have Holy Spirit movement that is rising and doing: the alive, the hopeful, the fruitful. Because without God, we are without hope. For this nation and others around the world, the only hope is from the breathe of God and the power of His written word spoken over it! Amen!

Compassion Fatigue

What is compassion fatigue and who has it? Who suffers with that really needed compassion for others...........to love others as we love ourselves? Maybe you know someone who has that kind of  "compassion fatigue" for another!

Today we find many people are "compassion fatigued". They rather shoot now and talk later. Yikes!  But to have compassion for others is to know that love and compassion of the Father. He the Creator of heaven and earth. He called God, who planned for man to be made. And many people, unbeliever’s and believer’s today like to play that card of “love your neighbor as you love yourself” and sneer to make demands on others for the vaccination and such! You know it for you have heard it too: “you do this and do it now!”

But Scripture tells us to love God first  and to love Him with all our heart, soul and strength.

Mark 12:30 And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. This is the first commandment. 31 and the second, like it, is this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

1 John 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments.

So how many are keeping God’s commands? You know the one like loving God first and with all our heart?

IN keeping step with God, we know His love and be filled with that love ( agape’ kind of love) especially when you spend time in worship to Him and in reading 1 John, 2 John and 3 John. But some keep their belief of love is all the same, even like God’s, but it is not.

I know some who are just keeping an agenda for the means to a certain end. But they should know God has the last word in this! Psalm 2:4 He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; the Lord shall hold them in derision. 5 Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, and distress them in His deep displeasure:

This Lord is lower case "lord" meaning Jesus the Lord. He shall hold them in derision. Yes, have you read the book of Revelation. I am so surprised many times by the though process of many Christians thinking Jesus turns the cheek at every situation of anger or harm. They seem to view Jesus as there but just to blend in. No blending end, one loses their doorway. They try to leave by the exit door when trying something knew like drugs and they find themselves following a path into a brown paper bag.

Loving God is really knowing Him. And knowing Him is through His Son Jesus Christ. And the way is present in Him. It is a narrow gate. Is singular with Him indeed. And we know Him better the more we call out His name, HIM who lives and not by calling out a dead person’s name.

That only brings what dark activity they were in before their dying.

Compassion is only in God and it is where justice is found! COMPASSION: in the Hebrew......mercy....to be gentle to another. ....to have concern for another.........

Psalm 103:11-14...........11 For as the heavens are high above the earth,
So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;
12 As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our transgressions from us.
13 As a father pities his children,
So the LORD pities those who fear Him.
14 For He knows our frame;
He remembers that we are dust.   NKJV

This verse in Psalm 103 reminds of His great mercy toward those who fear HIM! It reminds us that His great compassion exceeded what many believed could happen, but hoped for, as the prophets saw the coming of a Savior to the World. They saw the day when Jesus would appear and all things would change for good! Amen.

MERCY: OT: 2617...........checed (kheh'-sed);
from OT:2616; kindness; by implication (that placed toward God) piety: rarely (by opposition) reproof, or (subject.) beauty:

KJV - a good (-liness, -ness) deed, kindly, (as in loving-), merciful (kindness), mercy

So in understanding the compassion Jesus has, we must have that same compassion. It is in spending time with the God of love who has compassion on mankind to send a Savior. How great is His mercy toward those who fear Him. He remembers we are dust!

I think how awesome that when we show a fear to HIM, a fear to our God that He is God, giving an honor and respect to Him, and seeing this beauty and yes as a reproof to us that shows to the outside world we are different. Displaying a character of God, by showing a beauty that is merciful, is displayed in loving those who may not look like us, sound like us and dress like us. We are to be like Jesus displayed for all to see!

These specific ingredients are found in the kingdom of God, is not found among man’s plan or instructions. No the kingdom came through Jesus, and that is a merciful God who desired His children to live by faith in His Son!

Matthew 5:7......7 Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.   NIV

Again these come about by knowing God and His God-kind of love and compassion.

Romans 12:9-17......................9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. 10 Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; 11 not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; 12 rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; 13 distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality. 14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. 16 Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion. 17 Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. NKJV

So meditating on Romans 12 and starting in verse 9 that love is to be without hypocrisy.

It is to be a compassion believer that has no deceit, but speaks truth. It is a compassion that has no "masks", no covering up, but a true upright heart looking out for another person. It is one that does not trick another but speaks and operates in an openness to benefit another person’s care.

We become the "good report" on another person. We become the voice that lifts up the weary, the defeated, that one which the world says is different because of color, or ethnicity or even by youth. God created us in His image and that certainly means to look like Him, sound like Him and act as He would act in any given situation.

Our Character would appear as:

1. giving preference to another

2. not lagging in being diligent to do what we can for the weary, like Jesus feeding them the Word and feeding them with the natural to keep their bodies going

3.fervent with a fire in our spirit man to light other's with a fire for the things of God

4.serving the Lord to how He has called us to serve Him.....giving Him glory for all that happens in your life

5.rejoicing in hope with everyone, even the low, the broken in heart, the downcast, those who have lost their effectiveness in serving the Lord

6.patient in tribulation, lifting the name of Jesus and have a camp around the Word that gives a yell that the victory is ours

7.continuing in prayer, just like we saw Jesus do, day in and day out......

8. distribute that which should go to the saints in regard.......to.........their raiment, food or any need considerable for them at the time

9.showing hospitality to those who come

10. bless and do not curse

And wrap all this up in the verse 9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. Wrap all this in that compassionate love that abhors what is evil and will not participate with evil toward another human being or created thing of God and then have no thought BUT TO CLING TO THAT WHICH IS GOOD FOR ALL!

Sounds easy, right? Must not be for there are many today who are "compassion fatigued"!

Isaiah 50:4...............4 "The Lord GOD has given Me

The tongue of the learned,

That I should know how to speak

A word in season to him who is weary.

He awakens Me morning by morning,

He awakens My ear

To hear as the learned.  NKJV

OT:3287.....ya` eph (yaw-afe';) from OT:3286; fatigued; exhausted

KJV - the  faint, the weary.

Like Isaiah, we can speak a word in season to him who is weary.......him who is fatigued and exhausted, the one who is faint and about to drop. We can speak to someone who "left church" a while ago, and we can speak to the baker or the butcher who just needs the Word of life. Will you speak it?

Pray to have the boldness to speak now to others and speak truth with no masks, no jumping through hoops, but display the beauty of God in the place we meet someone who is weary, dry, and exhausted. Speak in that strength of loving God with all your heart to reach out to others, not for an agenda but that which is life in the Lord. You may be the one who keeps them from making a "bad" move towards another and keep them all safe by speaking the powerful Word of God into people's lives!

We have such a wonderful view of Jesus and the love displayed through His sacrifice on the Cross. What a great sacrifice God gave for us all! We should be those who will speak as the tongue of the learned. Speaking a word in season to those who are weary, faint, fatigued and exhausted because the Lord called us to rest in Him….to find rest for our souls and carry His presence, that tangible anointing where all things are possible to the believer.

Value His presence above all else. Today, we believe and expect to be that "one" who will move and give the Word of God, that will empower others to be refreshed and keep them from the wiles of the enemy.

God first with all our heart, soul and strength. AND then God in His love in our hearts will flow out to our neighbor, for only then is alignment for truth exhibited and obeyed for all to see the glory of the Lord in this place. Amen.
