The Chaos of a Nation

Unity is not about unity of many people in one church gathered. Unity is about the unity of believers in Jesus Christ in one place. You may gather with many males and females, but not all are believers in Christ, the anointed of God. Gathering for the sake of just gathering does not make you one with God. It just means you are gathered with a group of people. And who are we gathered to? Are you gathered to being a "Sanctuary" state for certain individuals who choose to break the law by killing and maiming others?

Was reading in a book my husband got me for Christmas. In this I am reading of the Greek for words used in the Bible. It is so interesting to learn the meanings of these words God saw fit to use through those who would believe in Jesus. In the years before Jesus' appearing on earth, produced by Greek theater, people would gather in a circle around the specific play as such. In those centuries, it was discovered that in ancient synagogues that have been uncovered by archaeologists, that a platform called a "bimah" was found in the center of these main auditorium. It was the "center" where the word of God was given. In this message only truth is given. The teachings were kept in what is called "know before Whom you Stand". The scrolls kept in this area were concealed in a cabinet. It was written for all to see that each of us should know before whom we stand.
Today, many have their own doctrine. They have the kingdom of music, the kingdom of body parts, the kingdom of foul mouths and the kingdom of lazy, do-nothing doctrine,

My question today: Is there worship for Destructive Doctrine?   1 Peter 2:1-2  NKJV  Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, 2 as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, 3 if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

Following I Peter 2:1, in which he admonishes us to rid ourselves of the fruits of spiritual junk food, Peter lists evidence of a mind afflicted with a poor spiritual diet:

1.    Malice is ill will, the desire to inflict pain. ( woman used her vehicle to inflict pain on an I.C.E agent. He had internal injuries when hit on roadway in Minneapolis)

2.   Deceit is lying or crafty, seductive, and slanderous activity. ( changing the news to fit a narrative is wrong in so many ways)

3.   Hypocrisy is pretending to be what one is not.

4.    Envy is the strong desire to possess what belongs to another. ( people want free stuff and debit cards with 10,000. dollars on them monthly.)

5.   Evil speaking is using the tongue to gossip, deceive others, or destroy reputations.  The pure milk of the word helps us to grow! (leaders not secure in their positions are using cursed words to show their courage or strength....I think not)

Peter proceeds to encourage us to crave God's Word just as a baby craves milk. He is not encouraging us to desire elementary spiritual food but emphasizing the energy we should exert to get good spiritual food. Babies demand milk as if their very life hangs in the balance at each feeding.

1.   Exertion to reach for  the Lord’s ways. Reach to hear Him, stretch out to take hold of each of verse the Lord gives us. Reach for His goodness!

2.   Kings search out  a matter:  Proverbs 25: 2 It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter.

3.   Romans 11:33 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the unsearchable are His judgments and  His ways past finding out!

4.   God’s glory is displayed in His sustaining power. He continues to give and it comes out of a plan from the beginning of time!

The apostle Peter gives God's Word as pure, meaning uncontaminated. It is unpolluted by fraud or deceit. God's Word is truth (John 17:17 NKJV Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.

Yet, today in some church sermons, you will find that which points to only one race of people. You find many teaching and some most unusual things are spoken about that Jesus brought to us! We are to crave God's word to abide in His truth. And know His truth, not some made up fantasy! We are not to abide in the word of this culture we see today. Justice has been turned upside down. And that which is truth we are to stay bound to!  Isaiah 59:14 Justice is turned back, and righteousness stands afar off; for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter. 15 So truth fails, and he who departs from evil makes himself a prey.

(This nation is submerged in injustice, oppression and falsehood. People have created their own problems. And today they blame their neighbor.) Does this sound familiar to this day and hour? Pray!

With all the chaos in the nation, the only answer for this nation is found in God’s Word the Bible! The blame game prevails and tragically lives are lost by the selfishness of men or women who are angry with life, with themselves and others. Hate appears in words and violence.  Graffiti spells out hate in the form of that which is against the Jewish nation and most likely our neighbor and often times points out to one race. But God made us all with one blood and the color is still red. Whatever your outside package, you will still bleed out red! Fear not man but fear Him who can cast into hell!

Prayer is needed!  And may we all know the falsehood and stop it before going to the streets! Most certainly we have seen women forget to the count the cost of changing their identity for another. They are choosing to police the police and agents of this government themselves. They give their babies and children to strangers to go stand in the street and fight with cursed words and clubs!

Our country was built on the foundation of God’s words and through time we have seen a broken fellowship with Him. If we truly expect to be God’s children and not just His creation, we must know God and love Him as He loves us.  In this the 21st century, we have abandoned His truths  & sought out to make our truths the right way.

Matthew 12:18-21    NIV  18 "Here is my servant whom I have chosen, the one I love, in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him, and he will proclaim justice to the nations. 19 He will not quarrel or cry out; no one will hear his voice in the streets. 20 A bruised reed he will not break, & a smoldering wick he will not snuff out, till he leads justice to victory. 21 In his name the nations will put their hope."

So it is the willing and the obedient who eat the good of the land. And it was Jesus WHO  was the Servant to whom God had chosen and HE was going to proclaim justice to the nations. He did it by the Holy Spirit.

Having our identity in Jesus, then we

1.       Make an impact in our neighborhoods, in our communities and the world.

2.      Turn from the old man and his old ways, we follow Jesus with every spoken word of God.

3.      In that is justice of God revealed. It is God who desires us to deal what is right and just in every situation, in every conversation, in dealing with people day to day….we are expected to be the honorable person!

Does mercy live in our hearts?  For mercy speaks in kindness and does not manipulate or seek cruelty to others! For tenderness to appear, we must find ourselves in that love of God. For us to love others it will only come through knowing Him who loved us first. This nation was built on the Constitution & the Bill of Rights.  Documents that godly men wrote were to establish this nation. And now men are trying to change those very things that prospered this nation for over two hundred years.

A quote from an unread portion of George Washington’s inaugural speech of 1789 …: “ America would endure until the people of America shall have lost all virtue; until they shall have become totally insensible to the difference between freedom and slavery; until they shall have been reduced to such poverty of spirit as to be willing to sell that pre-eminent blessing, the birthright of the freeman, for a mess of pottage. In short, until they have been found incapable of governing themselves & ripe for a master.”

Today, we have many people, and every color bowing to flesh creature. It is not the character of people we see, it is the madman who is strung up by his own flesh creature. They expose their body parts to parade falsehood in the streets. They show their brain is empty of any wisdom of God!

Will Penn spoke this: “Those who will not be governed by God will be ruled by tyrants.

May Malice, Deceit, Hypocrisy, Envy, and  Evil speaking be removed from us. These are of a kingdom not of God. We should know that it is "  The pure milk of the word helps us to grow"!

We are finding that the garbage dump fire is burning day and night around this old world. Seen in Mark 9:43-48, the worm did not die there. Yes, maggots went through their life-cycles, as all were feeding on the trash there. Through these many centuries, that place known as the Valley of Hinnom is a fitting picture of resurrection of condemnation. (John 5:29)

Let God arise today and let His enemies be scattered!

Humility Over Worldliness

In reading this week I saw the word “tent” in Psalm 84:10-11 Amplified Bible: 10 for a day in Your courts is better than a thousand [anywhere else]. I would rather be a doorkeeper and sand at the threshold in the house of my God than to dwell [at ease] in the tents of wickedness. 11 For the Lord God is a Sun and Shield; the Lord bestows [present] grace and favor and [future] glory (honor, splendor and heavenly bliss)! No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

How many want to live among the wicked in these days? Here the author mentions he would rather live at the threshold of the house of God than to dwell among the wickedness in the tents. Then in verse 11, he mentions the Lord God is a Sun and Shield. Jesus is our Shield. He bestows on us grace, favor and future glory with added glory which is the honor, splendor and heavenly bliss of God. No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

In this 21st century terminology one sees rebellion that is made of murky and confused thinking. It is one that is “a world separated from its Creator”. This is seen as the counterfeit pursuits that has nothing to do with God, but everything to do with man & his plans. Yes, it has everything to do with the world indeed.  Whether it has to do with what gender you are, it matters to God that he made us each either male or female. What you came equipped with is who you are today!  God does not make mistakes. Today the psychologists are trying to remove guilt from our thought life in the very words that we speak in daily use and in our working environment. People want pronouns and God wants obedience to His commands!

No Hormones nor knives can cut away what God has placed in me. No amount of speaking, gender pronouns, no manipulation on man’s part can change what God has purposed for the life of people on earth.

Nothing can change who I am. Nothing in man has any power over me or over men. I can and do know the will of God and have His ways and thoughts lead me. But man can do nothing. He is vapor. James 4: 14 Whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life. It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. 15 Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.”

Psalm 39:5 Indeed, You have made my days as handbreadths, and my age is as nothing before You; certainly every man at his best state is but vapor.   Selah  6 Surely every man walks about like a shadow; surely they busy ( make an uproar for nothing) themselves in vain; He heaps up riches, and does not know who will gather them.

Many things can make one angry! But once you gain a look on the closing door, death’s final blow, you find that life is short indeed. And what was that which made me angry? Are they even alive today? Did I really say that?

James is so right: Life is a vapor! Like a morning mist that soon vanishes, so life is short and uncertain. There are no guarantees about tomorrow, let alone next year or ten years from now. Certainly in the last twenty years, we have seen the Twin Towers come down by people who were nothing more than suicidal. Heard of a man of another country who took the life of about thirty-three children who were pre-school age and then went home and finished his work on his wife and two children. What glory did he gain? Did he find dignity? No to both questions would be our answer.

Did God plan this? No! It is many people who have help from the Bible to see and hear clearly. Yet they take no advantage of His truth! You may be young and healthy this morning, but you easily could be a corpse by sundown tonight. You may be thinking, “ Well, That’s a morbid thought! I don’t want to think about such things!” But if you ignore these things, you will not live your life properly in light of eternity. James wants us to know that…

We are in His hands, holding to the hope of Jesus Christ in us, glory!

Gods thoughts and ways leads us home to Him! So, because life is a vapor we should humble ourselves before God and obey His will. James lights on our short life and the humbling oneself before God:  In 4:1-12, James hit the need for humility to resolve conflicts and have harmonious relationships where he teaches, that humility with regard to the future and where is confronted an arrogant spirit that he had observed among the churches.

To call anyone  a name other than their first name, is criticism. And that criticism is malicious. It brings judgment to them quickly! Here James in his daily dealings, he wrote that these people professed to know Christ, but they were living with a worldly attitude that the apostle John calls “the boastful pride of life” found in 1 John 2:15. They were making plans without taking into account their own mortality and God’s sovereignty. Like the prosperous man in Jesus’ parable, they were saying, “I’ll build bigger barns to store my goods,” and “I will say to my soul, ‘Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years to come; take your ease, eat, drink and be merry.’” “But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your soul is required of you; and now who will own what you have prepared?’” (Luke 12:19-20).

James makes four points that we must keep before us: that life is a vapor, that life is frail written in James 4:13-14, “Come now, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit.’ Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow.” Or, the text may read, “You do not know what will happen tomorrow.”

How can we know what will happen ten minutes from now, let alone tomorrow or next year? These businessmen were arrogantly assuming that they would wake up tomorrow, start all over and do the same again, that they would safely get to the city, that their business venture would be successful within a year, and that no one would rob them of their income. They were presuming all of these things about an unknown future that they had no control of and no guarantees about!

I thought of those who went by way of a virus. Some just barely coming to know their neighbors and they go unexpectedly into eternity. Again, you may protest that to think about such things is morbid and depressing but we must understand that people make plans all the time and what do they include? Is it for life and trusting in God or is it for trusting oneself? Is it expecting the world to prepare a table for them with goodness? It will not happen in the end!

For you and I, we should be proudly going about our plans and life as if you will be forever young and healthy. James says (4:16) that “all such boasting is evil.” Yes, that is so evil to speak of indeed! God should be in our thoughts! God indicates the course of our Life!

Life is short, like a vapor, or a mist if you will. I think of that anytime I pop open a can. We are here in one moment and gone the next. You see the steam coming out of your coffee cup and in just a second, it disappears into the air. Life is like that would you not say? Or how about that mist of your drink from the can, a mist in a moment and then nothing!

You would think that because death is not just probable, but absolutely certain, and that it can happen at any minute, and that each person must stand before God for judgment, every person would be desperate to know how to get right with God. But, strangely, people put it out of mind and go on about life as if they will live forever. They can watch the catastrophe of Hurricane Ian on TV,  and maybe shake their heads in disbelief!  But truly the next day, the door swung open and those alive knew the potential within them. They went out the door to their daily routines without getting on their faces before God and repenting of their sins!

People today in big arenas prophesy health, wealth and success on every corner, but we know that to not be truth at all. They speak those who get disasters is not truth either. They speak they “deserved” that because…… ( and you fill in the blank) Yes, this is the world but we live for the Lord. Our hearts are set on Him. Amen.

Jesus taught us how to think when we hear about such disasters. And we will hear of disasters every day. Some people reported to Jesus about some Galileans whom Pilate had slaughtered. Jesus responded this in Luke 13:2-5:, “Do you suppose that these Galileans were greater sinners than all other Galileans because they suffered this fate? I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish. Or do you suppose that those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them were worse culprits than all the men who live in Jerusalem? I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.”

We should understand that these men’s sacrifices specifies that their deaths took place in the southeastern part of Jerusalem. Jesus questions the sinfulness of the Galileans and those killed by the tower was apparently inspired by widespread opinion that such things only happen when punishment was for specific sins. But Jesus countered them. He emphasized that every person must repent or else perish spiritually for eternity. How sad indeed?

So when we hear of disasters, or those human caused like the schools or elsewhere, and due to hurricanes, then we must make sure we have repented of our sins. Because if we do not repent,  then we will die in our sins and will perish. James’ first point is, life is a vapor.

We know God is sovereign. This means, we are not sovereign but only human! Financial planning is good stewardship if it is done in dependence on God and with regard for biblical priorities. It is wise to have a will or living trust. It is wise to have some savings to cover possible future expenses or the potential loss of a job. The Bible commends hard work and being rewarded financially for it.  These people were not planning under God’ s sovereignty. The arrogant was making plans for their future financial security, but their plans did not include God. Their trust was not in God, but in their business ventures and in all of the money that they supposed they would make. They were assuming that they were in control of their future and that everything would go according to their plans. Instead, they needed to acknowledge (4:15), “If the Lord wills, we will live and also do this or that.”

Any boasting in oneself is evil. We are not to do that ever!   “God is God; I am not God!” He is sovereign; I am not sovereign. He controls the future; I do not in any way control the future. I believe in saving and investing as I’m able towards the day when I may be too feeble to work (Prov. 6:6-8), but there is simply no such thing in this world as financial security. It is impossible to cover all possible contingencies. Our economy may crash. Our country may be overrun by terrorists. THE retirement investments may fail but it is trusting in God that is the only true source of security for the future.

In this list is vapor and God’s sovereignty. Another would be added as that of pride. It is a great sin indeed. And it covers everyone born on earth! That pride can promote strife. James 4:1 Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members?

Yes, that pleasure thing. We love the admiration of our parents, our grandparents, but we also pay attention to what they like in us. For one older gentleman yesterday, his grandmother loved he dressed up in purple dresses, and he was only four. It got his “attention”. And that is what parents and grandparents are doing today. They will “applaude” the purple dress on a four year old boy. They give accolades to that which is not truth, but far from God. They set their tents far from him for their own pleasures and we use them for our own. The four year old grows up and is undecided about his life, he is drawn to accolades and purple dresses where in this life he had lived as an engineer for a well know automobile company overseas! What a struggle, but he knew himself to be a man!

Another truth found in James 3:14  NKJV  14 But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth.

James focuses on "bitter envy." If "envy" is desire for what another has, "bitter envy" must mean a person wants something so much that he is angry and hateful over it.  And this is so true: Bitterness is a child of anger and resentment. Satan takes great delight in burdening our hearts with these harmful emotions. Unprovoked or quick-tempered anger is a hallmark of our modern cities, which resound in the night! It is midnight and there is heard gunfire and then there comes those howl of sirens. No not the quiet of the night for this city. They hear what is not the quiet atmosphere of nightfall but the atmosphere of hate. The envy has started a war and it grows daily.

Bitter envy takes jealousy to the next step by adding resentment and anger, and from it emerges words that stab, cut, tear down, refute, and diminish. REMOVE! Take them out and it reduces the stature of that someone to make us appear as the “taller” indeed. But we are not taller. No we become small, we become ants, or grasshoppers in eyes of those taking over this nation. If a talebearer or even a gossip wants their listener to think less of another so that we might think more of him, then we lose everything. We choose envy, pride, our own way and leave God.

Envy often springs up when we receive unwarranted correction and someone else, who deserves it, does not. We can feel envy when one receives attention we desire for ourselves or when we fail to receive hard-earned recognition. And those envious words, those bitter weapons are pointed and they are sharp. But the target is subtle, for on the surface, they sound oh so righteous, but in truth, they manipulated in the speaker’s favor.

James also talks of the “tongue”. And it is the un-tamable tongue.  Unruly evil of the tongue must be changed to the word of God. We are to gain His wisdom and not the world of pronouns. Our identity is in the Lord Jesus Christ. James 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gently, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.

From James 3:17  the fruit of righteousness is sown…..as to The whole is the principle of righteousness in the soul, and all the virtues are the fruits of that righteousness. Peace sown, when God rules the heart…and the virtues and graces grow.   The peace-makers are continually recommending this wisdom to others, and their own conduct is represented as a sowing of heavenly seed, which brings forth divine fruit. It is not trying to cover ourselves when we choose to not do something. Practicing peace will always involve giving truth, and that is God. To enjoy the peace of God in the conscience is promoting peace among men. Those who continue to have brawls will have the wretched life; who love the life of the salamander who will share no small portion to the demoniacal nature.

Let us wipe down our faith shield with Jesus. Let us use the oil of the Holy Spirit to have faith for our future. Let us be prepared for the gathering with Jesus, He is Gathering for His coming that will appear. In truth we are to overcome any doubt in God, to His Word, and remember His faithfulness carrying His Word and His presence to others as we look toward our future with Him!

At the end of James is the prayer of faith. There are commands to pray and to worship like James 5:13-14. The prayer of faith will echo James 1:5-8 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith, without doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

It is no hormones or knives, it is not pronouns but the word of God will cause us to stand and be ready. For tomorrow we must know the spiritual understanding of the purpose of any trail or tribulation, any sickness or hurricane, we do it with a repentant heart trusting the Lord has His way in our lives this day in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Healthy Whole

Good....true....healthy!
Two years ago I had done a teaching on healing for the body. I knew it was of the Lord and wanted to get it out for others to hear! I was reminded of it today!  Many times sickness just comes because we fail to recognize that our bodies need vital food that is real and not man-made! Like some diet drinks contain contaminates that can reduce vision. So anything that is a comprise to God's word and His ways for us, comprises the person: not only in their body, but in their mind both mentally and emotionally!

Mark 11:12-14………….12 Now the next day, when they had come out from Bethany, He was hungry. 13 And seeing from afar a fig tree having leaves, He went to see if perhaps He would find something on it. And when He came to it, He found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. 14 In response Jesus said to it, "Let no one eat fruit from you ever again." And His disciples heard it. NKJV

The 1st or early figs became ripe by the end of June
The 2nd crop or summer figs appeared in June and matured in August
The 3rd crop or winter figs appeared in August and were ready in late October but would and could carry through the spring season when the early figs would again appear.

Jesus cursed the fig tree…Mark 11…., not because it was fruitless, (for the season of figs was not yet, and if it had been leafless He would not have sought fruit on it!  But the fig tree was boasting a falseness to its bold claims. With leaves appearing, fruit should be found under the leaves……again as to righteousness producing fruit worthy of giving out to others, or unrighteousness…are the dishonest, untrustworthy, separated from God

In this we find what is evil, versus good, the false against truth, so that what is showing, either by a mask or leaves is hypocrisy!

In Jesus’ speaking, the fig represented Israel, & it’s bold claims that it followed God was without merit.  From the early beginnings with men who followed God closely & held on to the promises of God, these in Jesus’ time had slipped into that un-fruitfulness that was deceptiveness.. They LIED! They believed they had no flaws!
Jesus saw the prolific display of leaves on the Fig Tree, and anyone who has cared for fruit trees knows the flower appears first & then fruit and leaves last. We know that Jesus addressed those Pharisees who operated by THIS  pretentious show and hypocrisy.

You and I can do something to improve our health. Everyday we must speak truth against any pretentious attitude that we are fine, our blood pressure is normal and we may only have a few pounds to lose when reality speaks like this fig tree did. Weight additions can mount up and blood pressure can change from normal to real "high" mark!
I know that between my husband and myself we made many changes and still seek to change some things. We have also found my blood pressure is back to normal like it was suppose to be. And yes, pounds are lost when avoiding that sweet high road of sugar and carbs!

WE must be truthful about our body and make the needed changes:   The hypocrite does not discern his hypocrisy, for he cannot perceive flaws within himself.  He or she will NOT actually deal with the corruption in his heart. Since he seeks no mercy, he has no mercy to give; since he is always under God's judgment, judging is what comes through him. God resists the proud but His grace is drawn to the humble.

It is like speaking that you can eat all you want without limits. But in truth, eating ice cream daily will put on pounds of weight! Eating large volumes of food at bedtime will also amount to calories being stored instead of being burned.

A hypocrite can be a man or woman who excuses their own sin while condemning the sins of another. A hypocrite, can only impersonate righteousness but he fails to live by righteousness. They say at times they are confused when in reality they are trying to throw you into confusion.  WAS reminded of this young woman who died decades ago. She said she had no issues with food, but she only drank protein drinks! UNKNOWN to her friends, she also would binge on certain foods to throw it all up later. YIKES! So yes, these things wrecked havoc on a young person's body and she died not much past 16 years of age.

Mark 11:20-26.........20 Now in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. 21 And Peter, remembering, said to Him, "Rabbi, look! The fig tree which You cursed has withered away." 22 So Jesus answered and said to them, "Have faith in God. 23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will come to pass, he will have whatever he says. 24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

25 "And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. 26 But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses." NKJV

People considering that they are the "saved" will venture into un-chartered territory of exotic foods and find stomach complaints and many other bad factors like diarrhea! In their thinking they have Jesus and His blood but....we must use His wisdom to know where we were born, what was raised as crops in that locale and eat those foods. I was raised where they grew great pecan trees and I still love them and eat them today. People who grew up where they planted almond trees also enjoy them without any harm. Still if you put a macadamia nut with chocolate all over it in front of a person who has neither seen one or eaten one, you might have a problem.
According to the scripture above we are to forgive others: like forgiving maybe your absent parents who worked through the evening meal and you tanked up on coke and popcorn! But we also must forgive ourselves when such things as overweight occurs or some sickness. For we truly have control at our fingertips if we do not touch the handle on the door of the refrigerator. We can turn down chocolate, even that rich chocolate one...... if we remember  a specific scene from the movie Charlie and Chocolate Factory.  You know that just the thought of that "kid" swimming around in that river of chocolate is enough to stop my walk and focus to any type in our house...indeed!

Fig tree: Withered away without the life of God.  It only had leaves but no fruit.  Not good for anything, AND was cursed. That Faith in God is where our trust must rely on…….AND anything that lifts itself up as a mountain…..is to be cast into the sea….
You and I are to be intentional to rid those things out of our thinking...........anything from a " wrong " core belief system as from our parents or in some doctrine we have heard other than the truth of God our Savior!

Ask anyone who has stepped into a weight-loss program and they will tell you it takes more than money to purchase the needed healthy items to get on the road of healthy whole.  One has to cooperate to eat less and not more food. God's word equips us to take the needed steps to change our thinking and to make our body line up with that TRUTH God has given us in the Holy Bible.
Choices are to be for the right things that produce more life not death.

On the road to Healthy Whole, we remember that this is the day the Lord has made for us.....WE ARE TO BE GLAD IN IT........Psalm 118:24 This is the day the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.
Through salvation, God turned things around for us! We have the Holy Spirit to direct our way through what may appear as a maze of things that might confuse. But when we truly ask Him for help with our body in mind, He will direct our path into that which is of life.
I like what Charles Spurgeon wrote on Prayer and Spiritual Warfare. He said and I quote here: I write this with all reverence: God Himself cannot deliver who is not in trouble. Therefore, it is to some advantage to be in distress, because God can then deliver you. Even Jesus Christ, the Healer of me, cannot heal a person who is not sick. Therefore, sickness is not an adversity for us, but rather an advantageous opportunity for Christ to heal us. The point is, my reader, your adversity may prove your advantage by offering occasion for the display of divine grace.

May Divine Grace appear for you in your road to health. If you find you are in a darken place, depression seems to be everywhere you look, then you are focusing on the wrong thing. We must have a focus on what He has given us to run the race set before us! Depression can occur and many people experience it at some point in their lifetime, but we have HELP from the Holy One!

In making the decisions for life saving food preparations: May you know the Lord Jesus desires you to have the full measure of His joy within you. (John 17:13) Remember God brings comfort to the downcast. Isaiah 41:10 reminds us that we are not to fear. "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. I will uphold you with My righteous right hand."
Start with small decisions and stick to them. Exercise is important and learn to take that walk out the door everyday. Get out and be glad in the day the Lord has made for you. In that gladness, you will find the thankfulness to speak to Him, about that day, and tomorrow and your future.

If you have had drastic situations done to your body in recent months, know God is all knowing. He is not surprised. Nothing catches Him off-guard.  Speak through in that distress, for Isaiah 63:9 tells us that when we are distressed God too is distressed for us. In that God will carry us . May He carry you into your tomorrow. May depression be removed from you. Take that walk outside, take that step into an adventure where He leads you into His paths of righteousness for His name sake. May you reside beside still waters and lie down in grass that is knee high.
May you know His comfort as you make the changes that bring more life into your being. May you know His love that will guard in that peace which is totally of Him.

Oh Father, answer us when we call to you, O our righteousness. O God...give us relief from our distress; be merciful to us and hear our prayer. (Psalm 4:1) In distress, we call to You, Lord; we cry to our God for help. From Your temple You hear our voice, our cry comes before You, into Your ears. (Psalm 18:6) Please hear Lord and answer us for our thoughts trouble us and we are distraught. (Psalm 52:2)
We give thanks for Your faithfulness to correct us. We will not despise the discipline of the Almighty. For our issues we have at one time or another wanted people to just leave us alone for we felt like our days had no meaning. BUT you O Lord would not leave us here on this earth a single day that was not meant to have meaning. Our lives have meaning. Please help us not to despise our lives or isolate others from it. YOU too Christ were the despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows & familiar with suffering. You were like the one who from whom men hide their faces. You were despised & we did not esteem You. ( Isaiah 53:5) YOU know exactly how we feel, we will put our trust in You.
We give a shout, we have the victory, God has heard and we see it come to pass in Jesus' name. Amen.

A Song or A Complaint

Continuing Steadfastly in Prayer
Proverbs 17:10 tells us that rebuke is more effective for a wise man than a hundred blows on a fool. Proverbs 10:17 tells us  that 'he who keeps instruction is in the way of life, but he who refuses correction goes astray.'

Ever hear a parent tell you or another not to stick a metal object into an electrical outlet or you will get shocked? I have seen it done time and again by those who refuse instruction. We had a cousin who tried it and suffered the consequence. If the one person is tending toward being wise, they will heed instruction. But there are those who are intent on doing their "own thing their way". In respect to that you also find those with short lives lived out.

And Proverbs 26: 4-5 Do not answer a fool according to his folly, lest you also be like him. 5 Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes.

In respect to that which these state, they appear as speaking the opposite. Yes, they are opposite and if you and I choose to imitate the style of a fool, we will be one too! If you or I choose to respond to a fool as one who would be wise, then we will make that 'fool' out to be the wise man to imitate and to follow.

Instruction is there for us to reach and obtain to live by. It will keep us when it is the instruction given by the Lord. If one would pay attention to any news of late, you would be reaching for that of the one who speaks as the 'fool'. Life should be the foremost character of the person speaking. Are they representing the life Jesus came to give us? Are they representing love that is of God?
Do they display that song in their heart or just a complaint about another?

Fools are like animals. They will not use their brains. They do not take time to think through a situation or problem. They are ruled by their emotions and lust after their own desire.
A wise person will take instruction and apply it to their life. They could see a Doctor for some problem in their body and take the information with prayer to God and find, yes, that drinking extra water is helpful to keeping a healthy body. So why not drink more water every day to see that desired affect appear?

Another is taking a homeless person giving them the right things, with good intentions and speaking instruction to get them off the street, yet if they refuse it, it is throwing money, and services and good toward something that is void of understanding.
We must want to value life, not complain about it. We must desire to work at this life God has given to us to have that song in our heart.
If I value nothing, if I place no value on the life of a child, I am nothing. If I place no value in my marriage, I am as nothing. If we do not value the laws that built this 'republic', we value not the God who planned its inception.

People truly want to help other people and especially those who are down and out. Prayer is certainly a good place to start. Feeding people is a 'great idea'. But we must remember if we had parents, when we got to a certain age, we were expected to help with the evening meals, with clean up and with making it a team effort.
If you always got served with breakfast in bed and no clean-up and no actually plan of being apart of family, then you will most likely choose to have breakfast in bed with servants at your beacon call!

WE each have a role to play in this life given us. It is one that calls on us to be accountable for our actions. It calls us to have character strengths to rise at 4 or 5 am, to go to a job, work the best we can for the company, to make that check for spouse and children. The object being families filling communities with activity that seeks each person doing their part in the life they are given.

Psalm 14:1-3 The fool has said in his heart, " there is no God". They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none who does good. 2 The LORD looks down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there are any who understand, who seek God. 3 They have all turned aside, they have together become corrupt, there is none who does good, no, not one.

Heard this woman speak the other day. She announced her run for the White House in 2020. In her speaking she spoke she had sought God. I heard that and wondered what god she sought. For those who would speak ill for another's hurt is wrong. To be intent to destroying a man or a woman's character because we do not like them is sin. Any one thing  that which is done with pride in the heart against another is as iniquity just like satan revealed when he fell from heaven.

Romans 12:9-17 NKJV 9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. 10 Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; 11 not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; 12 rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; 13 distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality. 14 Bless those ho persecuted you; bless and do not curse; 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep. 16 Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion. 17 Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men.

The thing is that many men have no regard for good things in the sight of all men. Many are not saved. Many know not Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We must operate in God's wisdom and declare His truths, we use money wisely not to just make others think that we are all that and more. For hypocrisy is the actor who just plays a role to convince others of their intent. They use children, and families as their springboard but in truth show a much darker side to death to unborn children. Truth is made know by the one who seeks life and not death of others, it seeks to reveal truth and not lies, the one who seeks to live is the one who seeks God who gives life to us. Hypocrites demand their ways and agendas. Hypocrites reveal death and hate with violence.

Just look at what they wanted to do to Jesus!
YOU and I must abhor what is evil. We must cling to that which is good. We are to be kindly affectionate to one another in brotherly love.............remember this is speaking to the church body.
We are to stand with voices declaring God's truth as the wise displaying character that is one of strength and honor.
Matthew 5:38-41 NKJV You have heard that it as said, "an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. 39 But I tell  you not to resist any evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right check, turn the other to him also. 40 If anyone wants to sue you and take away your tunic, let him have your cloak also. 41 And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two.

Your example and mine to others is to be loving, but we must be willing to stand toe-toe with evil and give God's truth. For when they slap you with evil , we turn to expose the other check. We reveal God and His love but we do not back down nor turn away.

For some reason, I always tend to think of the movie Forest Gump and his reasoning given by his mother, "stupid is as stupid does!" I do not want to be the foolish. I know we stumble, but I do not want to be the foolish or act like the "fool".
For whatever the situation or problem, we are to be the true follower of Jesus who speaks out in faith that is by us living in the spirit, operating by loving others by choice and experiencing God as our Father ,who has good in mind for us.
May His kingdom come to earth for us today, to see the unseen, to prevail in prayer for all dignitaries and those who would lead this nation of America or the nation you reside. As we seek the other's good we will speak that good that is of the Father in heaven revealed through Jesus and displayed by the Holy Spirit in power through us.
No matter the chaos, God leads. It is to be our desire to freely forgive understanding that forgiving another may not mean that person or group is right, but it does free you & me to continue in God & become what HE purposed for our lives. May we represent a song that is forever sung for the glory of our God through Jesus Christ.............yes it is the demonstration of the Spirit and power....Amen!
