AWESTRUCK!

Jesus before Pilate.
Heard this woman speak this past Wednesday the fifth of April. She a Jew, mentioned her time during Holocaust and her seeking this week in the Vatican.  She wanted to worship. Interesting but she looked younger than myself. She mentioned her faith in God and in man. That is what stopped me in my tracks regarding her speech. Faith in God, in the Lord, faith in the bloodshed at Calvary and that given for us to walk in freedom of sin indeed, but knowing she has faith in man was regarding earthly things.

She had faith in man!

In remembering the great sacrifice of Jesus for mankind and referencing nothing toward Him but only for faith in man brings tears indeed. What death occurred and what horrendous hate accumulated in the flesh of Jesus to be hung on a Cross for all the world to view at that time.

Mark 14:32-42 NKJV 32 Then they came to a place which was named Gethsemane; and He said to His disciples, “Sit here while I pray.” 33 And He took Peter, James and John with Him, and He began to be troubled and deeply distressed. 34 The He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch.” 35 He went a little farther, and fell on the ground, and prayed that if it were possible, the hour might pass from Him. 36 And He said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for You, Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will.” 37 Then He came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “Simon, are you sleeping? Could you not watch one hour? 38 Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit is indeed willing, but the flesh is weak. 39 Again He went away and prayed, and spoke the same words. 40 And when He returned, He found them asleep again, for their eyes were heavy; and they did not what to answer Him. 41 Then He came the third time and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? It is enough! The hour has come; behold, the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners.” 42 Rise, let us be going. See, My betrayer is at hand.”

Are we keeping watch today? Do we note what to pray for?

Mark 14:43 And immediately, while He was still speaking, Judas, one of the twelve, with a great multitude with swords and clubs, came from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders. 44 Now His betrayer had given them a signal, saying, “Whomever I kiss, He is the One; seize Him and lead Him away safely.” 45 As soon as he had come, immediately he went up to Him and said to Him. “Rabbi, Rabbi! And kissed Him. 46 Then they laid their hands on Him and took Him. 47 And one of those who stood by drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his ear. 48 Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Have you come out, as against a robber with swords and clubs to take Me. But the Scriptures must be fulfilled.” 50 Then they all forsook Him and fled.

Do we pay attention when things are about to change? Do we know those who are against us? But we walk like Jesus, we walk forward with truth! Jesus went voluntarily. He went to do the Father's will!

Mark 14:53 And they led Jesus away to the high priest; and with him were assembled all the chief priests, the elders and the scribes. 54 But Peter followed Him at a distance, right into the courtyard of the high priest. And he sat with the servants and warmed himself at the fire. 55 Now the chief priests all the council sought testimony against Jesus to put Him to death, but found none.

Peter followed at a distance. He was lagging behind and when he sat, he sat to warm himself. Not with his peers but with others trying to be lost in a crowd!

Mark 15:6-15  NKJV  6 Now at the feast he was accustomed to releasing one prisoner to them, whomever they requested. 7 And there was one named Barabbas, who was chained with his fellow rebels; they had committed murder in the rebellion. 8 Then the multitude, crying aloud, began to ask him to do just as he had always done for them. 9 But Pilate answered them, saying, "Do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?" 10 For he knew that the chief priests had handed Him over because of envy. 11 But the chief priests stirred up the crowd, so that he should rather release Barabbas to them. 12 Pilate answered and said to them again, "What then do you want me to do with Him whom you call the King of the Jews?" 13 So they cried out again, "Crucify Him!" 14 Then Pilate said to them, "Why, what evil has He done?" But they cried out all the more, "Crucify Him!" 15 So Pilate, wanting to gratify the crowd, released Barabbas to them; and he delivered Jesus, after he had scourged Him, to be crucified.

Pilate recognized the envy of the Jews at this time. The chief priests stirred up the crowds to release the rebellious one and crucify the humble and faithful One.

Mark 15:33 Now when the sixth hour had come there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour. 34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabacthani?” which is translated :MY God, My God why have You forsaken Me?” 35 Some of those who stood by, when they heard that, said, “Look, He is calling for Elijah!” 36 Then someone ran and filled sponge full of sour wine, put it on a reed, and offered it to Him to drink saying, “Let Him alone; let us see if Elijah will come to take Him down.” 37 And Jesus cried out with a loud voice, and breathed His last. 38 Then the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. 39 So when the centurion who stood opposite Him, saw that he cried out like this and breathed His last, he said, “Truly this Man was the Son of God!” 40 There were also women looking on from afar, among whom were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James the Less and of Joses and Salome, 41 who also followed Him and ministered to Him when He was in Galilee and many other women who came up with Him to Jerusalem.

As Jesus hung on the Cross, & darkness took over for 3 hours, the depths Jesus went was the very place where Lazarus was placed in the Bosom of Abraham.  Noise filled the place, & vicious hatred came out against Jesus. Only His body remaining on the Cross, his soul was taken by the dogs of damnation to be punished because of man’s sin. Yes, when Jesus cried out “It is Finished”, those that filled the depths of hell came to take Jesus to hell. The ground shook as the bulls of Bashan came out. The stout-hearted devil angels of hell held Jesus in Sheol.    Deut. 32:22-24 For a fire is kindled in mine anger and shall burn unto the lowest hell[Sheol]…they shall be burnt with hunger, & devoured with burning heat, & with bitter destruction: I will also send the teeth of beasts upon them, with poison of serpents of the dust. Amos 5:18-19 For what good is the day of the LORD to you? It will be darkness & not light. It will be as though a man fled from a lion & a bear met him! & a serpent bit him! That takes place in hell is the evil demonic force in their hatred of men made in the image of God is horrific. The extent of your anger & hate is the depth of your flame!

Mark 16: 1 Now when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Salome bought spices, that they might come and anoint Him. 2 Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week, they came to the tome when the sun had risen. 3 And they said themselves, “Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?” 4 But when they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away----for it was very large. 5 And entering the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a long white role sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed. 6 But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him. 7 But go, tell His disciples-----and Peter-----that He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him, as He said to you.” 8 So they went out quickly and fled from the tome, for they trembled and were amazed. And they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.

Nothing was found in Jesus to crucify Him on the Cross. They chose the “world”, they chose Barabbas! That Passover day in AD 31, there was a guilty "son of the father"—Barabbas—and a totally innocent "Son of the Father"—Jesus Christ of Nazareth.  Ancient texts say that Barabbas' full name was Jesus Barabbas. If that is correct—and it may be—then the crowd picked the wrong Jesus to be freed! Is that not typical of human nature? On our own, we too would choose the wrong savior and doom ourselves to bondage to sin and death rather than freedom from sin and eternal life (John 6:44; Romans 2:4).

Our faith is to be in Jesus! He stood before the Pharisees and the governor Pilate! He stood and spoke nothing to bring accusation to Him. Man brought false accusations.

Mark 16:5 And entering the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a long white robe sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed. 6 But he said to them, “Do not alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him. 7 But go, tell His disciples-----and Peter-----that He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him, as He said to you.” 8 So they went out quickly and fled from the tomb, for they trembled and were amazed. And they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.

Awestruck: an angel appearing to them. He is clothed in a long white robe. He brought alarm to those seeing him. Anyone seeking Jesus: He is not here. But is risen. Jesus of Nazareth is not here. See the place where they laid Him. But go, tell His disciples and Peter. He is going before you into Galilee. There YOU will see Him as He said to you.

Jesus was on the move. He was not held by nails, nor a Roman cross! Coming and finding an open tomb, they were bringing spices to bind that which was now dead for the bones to appear. But an angel, with lightning appearance spoke to them. An angel who had no work to open that tomb to some light. He spoke instructions that Jesus had given earlier to them. Tell His disciples and tell Peter. Jesus would see them in Galilee.  Jesus would appear to them and His wounds would verify His last moments on the Cross! He gave instructions to them. Scatter they did, and scatter they will do today. If they scatter like the disciples, as they did then, they will do now. For many hide to not be found, but Jesus is alive and He expects us to deliver His message. For things changed certainly, but Jesus is alive and His message is important to live and declare His very works to the lost. We will do this to the end of the age!

His is exclusive and not inclusive. His kingdom is truth and only His truth. We listen, we obey and become more like Him, to abide in the kingdom of God that is coming. We abide in His truth now, knowing people stood against Him then and they will do it again in this time. But God is everlasting. His truth endures to all generations.

This woman of Jewish heritage made it known she came through Holocaust. Praise the Lord. She waits for Jesus. We are to be diligent and honest in our search for a true shepherd of the church of God. It is everyone's responsibility. It is imperative that we find a fold where we can be properly fed and where we can serve. The enemy has scattered the flock through the extensive doctrinal changes, and God has permitted it for our good.

Faith holds us together in His grace. But only Jesus leads us. And man should know the Lord by his heart. WE are to remain constant in our call and the place God has placed us. How necessary this is in the heart and life of every believer. Yet, in many of the churches of our land; the radio and TV programs together with statements and articles coming from the lips and pens of the most popular and influential “Christian leaders” in our day make it crystal clear that “church growth” and “success” in the eyes of men has replaced absolute fidelity to the Word of God! The Word of God is never replaced. Men move from the peace of God to living outside Him in their own sufficiency.

We as believers who refuse to bow the knee to Baal—those who will not go along with the crowd are a great blessing and encouragement. WE hear from and correspond with an increasing number of others of like precious faith and we give thanks to God our Father in Jesus’ name. As we believers increase in that developing spiritual discernment  as the group in the Lord, we will no longer follow and support those leaders who glorify the psychological approach and depend upon every trick of modern advertising and salesmanship to broaden their sphere of influence and increase their prestige and following. We are thankful that God always maintains and sustains His faithful remnant in every generation.

Awestruck, yes, that God Himself sent the Son of His love, to bring the presence of the Father to a lost people, to bring Holy Spirit for change and bring the doctrine of life for us to become the image of our Father God. Awestruck, an angel appeared, Jesus not there, but Jesus alive and speaking, eating and enjoying His disciples. Jesus alive with wounds of the world to point to way in Him to heaven, to hearing His voice and know the truth. It was a babe in a manger, a twelve year old with God’s wisdom, it was signs and wonders to the interest of God for people, it was the blood shed for humanity and it was love that ruled through it all.

Awestruck! If God be for us, who can be against us?

What I have Written, I have Written

What do we see as the enemy? What do we see that we honor without really knowing what it or they represent to us and to others?

It was evident that the Jews had a direction they decided to travel and Jesus was not a part of their plan. Yet, He was and is truth and life to them and they refused Him!

John 19:17-22 NKJV And He, bearing His cross, went out to a place called the Place of the Skull, which called in Hebrew, Golgotha, 18 where they crucified Him, and two others with Him, one on either side, and Jesus in the center. 19 Now Pilate wrote a title and put it on the cross. And the writing was: Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews. 20 Then many of the Jews read this title, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city; and it was written in Hebrew, Greek and Latin. 21 Therefore the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, "Do not write, "The King of the Jews." 22 Pilate answered, "What I have written, I have written."

Each of us can give voice to that which is desirous to our heart. What do we celebrate but is really death to us?  We can give our opinion or view of any subject that we think we have great knowledge of and on. And if we appear in a place of position, somehow that place seems to give more credence to what we may believe and trust in our heart. So if we are giving voice to something, have we started in the place of prayer? It is important hat God's love shows up in that which we pray for and seek to know that is the knowledge of God where insight is given to help us discern the best, the pure and the blameless way of walking while presenting truth to any  situation and possibly the world?
To give voice to the right thing, means we give it in the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ who is the glory and praise of God. (Philippians 1:9-11)

But there are those who abuse their power to exert their own agenda in having things their way even if it brings death to another!

Have we bound mercy and truth around our neck and written them on the tablet of our heart so that we find favor and high esteem in the sight of God and man. Or are we going about to make a statement about someone or something just to exert that "our will" is exerted on another person? (For that is sin) You and I are to trust in the Lord with all of our heart and not to lean on that which is known as the human living in a humanistic world, but we are to acknowledge Him in all that we do in the ways of walking through this world into the next place in our future.

For if we acknowledge Him, then He is directing our path and He can do for us that is life,  for that relationship with our spouse that is a marriage founded on His word of truth. Acknowledging Him in raising children for Him, or even to acknowledge what our place in Him is to look like and how we get there without exerting pain on others.  So, as we choose not to be "wise in our own eyes" we fear the Lord and depart from evil to find health for our flesh and strength to our bones. In this we look to honor Him with our possessions and with the first fruits of all our increase. (Proverbs 3:3-10)

Acknowledging Him is to be our thought and to be our way. It is not making Him aware to be on guard for us on this, but that we make our heart aware to follow Jesus, counsel with Him, and that we make our own heart know His truth and His thoughts to walk in His ways while we travel a lifetime to eternity! Continuing in His righteousness, we see the reward of that effect. And when correction comes and it will most certainly come, we are to heed that is of God's love and His concern for us as individuals that the correction comes. And then how you and I respond to that correction will reveal what path we truly travel on: either for Him and His glory or for ourselves and for our own glory!

In Matthew 27:15-26 NKJV Now at the feast the governor was accustomed to releasing to the multitude one prisoner whom they wished. 16 And at that time they had a notorious prisoner called Barabbas. 17 Therefore, when they had gathered together, Pilate said to them, "Whom do you want me to release to you? Barabbas or Jesus who is called Christ?" 18 For he knew that they had handed Him over because of envy. 19 While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, "Have nothing to do with that just Man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of Him."
Matthew 27: 20 But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitudes that they should ask for Barabbas and destroy Jesus. 21 The governor answered and said to them, "Which of the two do you want me to release to you?" They said, "Barabbas!" 22 Pilate said to them, "What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?" They all said to him, "Let Him be crucified!" 24 When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but rather that a tumult was rising, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, "I am innocent of the blood of this just Person. You see to it."
Matthew 27:25 And all the people answered and said, "His blood be on us and on our children." 26 Then he released Barabbas to them; and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered Him to be crucified.

Pilate's wife sent word to tell him of her dream the night before. He is given a word by her not to have anything to do with Him because of what she experienced while dreaming of Jesus.

In remembrance of all the things that occurred to Jesus, we consider Peter denying him and Judas betraying him for monetary gain. It was Pilate who declared Jesus the Christ to have no fault in him. And for Pilate’s wife a dream was given. How much previous knowledge would she have had of Jesus before that night? It is possible she had heard many voices speak of Him, but did she regard the voices?

If we view the whole of the written word of God, it is God Himself who will not leave himself without witnesses to the truth of what He is giving to a people. “Have nothing to do with the just Man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of Him.”  Pilates’ wife gave a caution of warning what would be wrapped up in Jesus the Christ.

In regard to others, do we regard that friendship to be foremost and given especially when so many things are appearing around us? Pilate was bombarded on all sides: the Jews who desired by envy to put Jesus away for good, the Sanhedrin who were led by Caiaphas the high priest and elders present were active to influence the people in favor of Barabbas. Then there was also the Roman government with its rules and own law.  And we know Jesus was led to Annas first .( John 18:12-14)

The detachment of troops and its captain and officers of the Jews arrested Jesus. And bound they led Him away. This Annas asked Jesus information of His disciples and His doctrine. And Jesus answered that He had spoken openly to the world. He told him that He had taught in synagogues and in the temple where the Jews always met and in secret He told Annas that He had spoken nothing.  In John 18: 21 “Why do you ask Me? Ask those who have heard Me what I said to them. Indeed they know what I said.” Because of Jesus’ answer to Annas, He was struck by an officer who stood by, but Jesus' answer was: “If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil, but if well, why do you strike Me?”
And of course, then Jesus is sent to the court of Pilate!

What lay ahead was a view of people who asked for the evil of Barabbas to be released and to destroy the just Man Jesus.  These were corrupt leaders who set themselves to show Jesus as the corrupt, the Man who did wrong, was spoken of as a deceiver and was in league with the devil. This people became those who managed mobs at the expense of the innocent man.

In truth, the High Priest Caiaphas was never to tear his garments. And some have written that he most likely did not have on his priestly garment at the time…..not sure why that would have been since he was High Priest! But we do know that the High Priest was present and that Jesus Christ stood before him.  And what was to be regarded as truth, these priests did wickedly. In  Deuteronomy 17:8-9 If a matter arises which is too hard for you to judge, between degrees of guilt for bloodshed, between one judgment or another, matters of controversy within your gates, then you shall arise and go up to the place which the Lord your God chooses. 9 and you shall come to the priests, the Levites, and to the judge there in those days, and inquire of them; they shall pronounce upon you then sentence of judgment.
A witness was required to initiate the penalty by casting the first stones, thus subjecting himself to blood revenge should his testimony prove to be false. (Deut. 19:15-21)
The witness was to give truth!
Some people love having the power but they choose to abuse by lies exerting that power bringing pain or even death it upon those who would be the “innocent”. Those with the abusive power do come to their end in the error of their ways when causing such wicked things on the innocent.
Within these scenes that led up to Jesus' crucifixion we find a group of people who moved hurriedly to make decisions  that revealed violence not only on Jesus, but also that which ultimately would come to their nation. They were the blind leading the blind!

Even though Pilate did not regard the warning from his wife, he did see something in the Just Man. But choosing to disregard the good Man , the Just Man sin is expressed and multiplied indeed.

Proverbs 8: 29 When He assigned to the sea its limit, so that the waters would not transgress His command, when He marked out the foundations of the earth, 30 Then I was beside Him as a master craftsman; and I was daily His delight, rejoicing always before Him, 31 rejoicing in His inhabited world, and my delight was with the sons of men.

God's wisdom is a life-giver. He enriches us with His wisdom when we seek His counsel and when we seek to be the witness that declares His goodness to man. Peace on earth comes when men have the Prince of Peace on their hearts. When the water represents man, then those people should not transgress the Lord's boundaries for safety!
Psalm 93:2-5 NKJV Your throne is established from of old; You are from everlasting. 3 The floods have lifted up, O LORD, they floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves,  4 The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, than the mighty waves of the sea. 5 Your testimonies are very sure; holiness adorns Your house, O LORD, forever.
Things are swept away by floods of adversity, swept away by those with hostile natures against other men and when they all make their voices heard, it is only God Who is established and His word stands sure!

Pilate had sought to release Jesus: John 19:12 From then on Pilate sought to release Him, but the Jews cried out, saying, "If you let this Man go, you are not Caesar's friend. Whoever makes himself a kings speaks against Caesar."
The pronouncement: "What I have written, I have written." Roman law forbade the sentence written to be altered in any manner or form. It was an inscription pronouncing something against Jesus. BUT what was given was prophetic indeed. The kingdom of the Jews would have no other Messiah. Jesus was crucified because He was the king of the Jews. In the book of Matthew it was given as an accusation against Him, but in the book of John it is given as His title!

What do we profess? What does our day, week or year look like in regards to Jesus? Do you and I regard Jesus by His title in all we do and how we regard others when making appointments with them? Do we consider those things as important as enjoying the world and its positions for such a limited time to leave Jesus behind and do our own thing?
Again, do we give regard to Him or do we take account of choosing Barabbas to serve the world? There was no crime in Jesus, and that innocence when it was written of Him, that sign would be revealed upon the cross of the dying Messiah.
Yes, Caiaphas pronounced someone had to die for the good of the people. In meaning: these men in some form of witness  but not for the good of Jesus, but as the witness against Him, that which was the written proved to be that which prophesied of His title. Yes, the Jews rejected Christ Jesus and would not have Him for their king. And Pilate the Gentile knew this, still he remained to give an earnest account of the king of the Jews.
John 19:19 Pilate wrote the sign himself: Jesus of Nazareth , the king of the Jews. And verse 21 "the chief priest of the Jews" meant they were no longer priests of the Lord.
What is written on your heart?  Have you written on your heart: "Jesus of Nazareth, the king of the Jews"? What appears written if we take a look into that arena of your heart?

In 1 Kings 3:9 Solomon as king asked for a hearing heart. "Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of yours?" Whatever our walk, whatever is given to you and me we are to deal in that knowing our limitations are there no matter what and ultimately we are to rely on the Lord to have victory in this lifetime. In His wisdom we gain even more wisdom and discernment of the King, and we discern the importance to honor Jesus and to honor relationships that He has given into our hands. If we do not honor them, then how much less do we honor HIM?
What I have written, I have written!

What Will We Do with Jesus?

Matthew 27:15-26
15 Now at the feast the governor was accustomed to releasing to the multitude one prisoner whom they wished. 16 And at that time they had a notorious prisoner called Barabbas. 17 Therefore, when they had gathered together, Pilate said to them, "Whom do you want me to release to you? Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?" 18 For he knew that they had handed Him over because of envy. 19 While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, "Have nothing to do with that just Man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of Him." 20 But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitudes that they should ask for Barabbas and destroy Jesus. 21 The governor answered and said to them, "Which of the two do you want me to release to you?" They said, "Barabbas!" 22 Pilate said to them, "What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?" They all said to him, "Let Him be crucified!" 23 Then the governor said, "Why, what evil has He done?" But they cried out all the more, saying, "Let Him be crucified!" 24 When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but rather that a tumult was rising, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, "I am innocent of the blood of this just Person. You see to it." 25 And all the people answered and said, "His blood be on us and on our children." 26 Then he released Barabbas to them; and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered Him to be crucified.  NKJV

The feast had begun. The governor was to release "one prisoner" at that time. On deck was the notorious prisoner called Barabbas. (famous for being bad)
And Pilate asked the people who had gathered around, "Whom do you want me to release to you?" "Barabbas or Jesus, who is called Christ?"
And while the preparation of the Feast was underway, the governor's wife told him she had a dream about Jesus. It was a dream that caused her much anxiety

It is noted here in verse 18 that he the governor Pilate knew they the people who gathered envied Jesus. Envy is a poisonous thing. We are told this in Proverbs 14.

Proverbs 14:30
30 A sound heart is life to the body,
But envy is rottenness to the bones. NKJV

Yeah, have you smelled something rotting? Have you been around someone so sick, their body seemed to be rotting away under the affect of that which diseased the body part?
These people envied Jesus, and it was rottenness that was found in them to their very bones.

James 3:13-18
13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. 14 But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. 15 This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. 16 For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. 17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. 18 Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.  NKJV

These people hated Jesus. They despised the truth He brought to them.
The governor asked, "why, what evil has He done?" But they cried out and it must have been a real riotous time. The people wanted Jesus crucified!
Pilate said he washed his hands of the matter and would release the "one known for his famous bad deeds"!
Justice? Not likely.
But everyday, people should to love Jesus. They find that strength in Him that is true joy to rise and do for His glory.
Likely, you too, will be in a crowd and probably will look like some believer's and some who just want their way. Those self-seeking will look to have their way. They will do little to help you, or they will ignore you entirely. They will either be for truth or they will love the way things are a comfort to them even though they are the naked, the blind and far from God. Some just delight in having their way that is the way of destruction.
And these people were the adamant about it. They said this: " His blood be on us and on our children." (see below)
Yikes!

Matthew 27:24-26
24 When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but rather that a tumult was rising, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, "I am innocent of the blood of this just Person. You see to it." 25 And all the people answered and said, "His blood be on us and on our children." 26 Then he released Barabbas to them; and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered Him to be crucified.  NKJV

In choosing Barabbas, they sought their way, and they gained "the bad of Barabbas". They even spoke it to be done to their children as well.
In choosing to reject Jesus and truth, people invite the evil, that which acquainted with envy for another, in what they believe, what they look like, envy what they have, envy their social position in life, envy their confidence in God and in doing that lose their very soul.

Saw somewhat a controversial topic on CNN and it was on the 80's and the music that was on the scene at that time. They had notables talking to the stage of the country leaders to voice their objection to the violent music, the kind they believed that would permeate into violence and they spoke on the objectionable music videos. And to me, in some respects they were right. But where were they, the notables, when one atheistic woman wanted prayer done away with in the schools in 1964? That is my question. Where were those who had ministry and ministered at the time? What happened that day has brought a great darkness over this country. And one can see what can happen when one wants their way just by watching the evening news most every night.
Yes, there are those who live to give encouragement to others, but they seem few.

Where was the rallying at that time of the early 60's? One woman took center stage and demanded. What did they do with Jesus at that time? What will we do with Him today?
I heard there was tent revivals going on from the 40's and 50's..............what happened?
We have opportunity after opportunity to minister the life that comes through Jesus alone. We must pray, we must know Him and trust completely that He has not abandoned us.
He surely watched as the High Priest when young Stephen was being stoned. He, Jesus, surely took His place to watch over him...........why........because Stephen prayed while he was being stoned.
And today people cower instead of standing face to face in the devil's face and tell him that his time is up. They cower in fear. They have become "the paralyzed".
Stephen prayed and asked in those last moments of life and Jesus stood as the High Priest........the Great Intercessor and quickly Stephen was received up into heaven.

Who are you rallying with? Do we even have a faith cry? Do we speak Jesus or find another like Barabbas? Are we like those who desire to put away Jesus from our lives? Are we seeking our "own thing"?

Like Jesus, we should speak as well: ”THAT He who is of GOD hears GOD’S WORDS………”   “That of myself I can do nothing; BUT AS MY FATHER TAUGHT ME, I SPEAK THESE THINGS.” “He who has sent me gave me a command, what I should say, and what I should speak. Therefore, whatever  I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak.  (scripture references below:)Jesus said:  John 8:47……47 He who is of God hears God's words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God." …NKJV    John 8:28….28 Then Jesus said to them, "When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and that I do nothing of Myself;  but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things. NKJV   John 12:49-13:1………49 For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. 50 And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak."   NKJV

For what is written today, He commanded. I do not speak of myself, but what He has given me. It is "He who is of God who hears God's words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God."
May we speak and not be silently, but ever mindful of why Jesus was crucified for us. Let us not take for granted one moment that we should our lives like the devil and hope to be in heaven one day. It does not work that way and never will.

What will you do with Jesus?
