Thank God Salvation Does NOT Depend on the Food Delivery Truck

Voice of Prayer
Growing up in the south, I remember those days my mother set out for grocery store. With her list in hand, and her two girls in the backseat, she set her face toward the grocery store and the best buys of the day! Now that was in the twentieth century and not that long ago, but I so remember mom and her "lists".  She had her list for the meals she would prepare and on what day. She had a list for the cleaning supplies, the laundry supplies, and then what she would require when making those yeast rolls from scratch! I wonder if people do that anymore?
I so remember the times though when she required something and it was a popular item that probably every household had within those closed cabinet doors, yet she would be told, "well, truck has not made it in this week."
With a disappointed look, she received their answer, finished her shopping and we loaded the trunk of the car and headed home.
By the time I got  into high school, I still remember my mom with her lists: the grocery shopping, the list from the local market, and the list from the "super market" ten miles away, and the list for what she desired to prepare for meals. I remember going with her, especially in the summer months and when she was not working, and we would make our jaunt a short ten mile trip, load the grocery cart, and still hear, "well, the truck has not made their delivery this week!"

She would make a quick run to the little market about three blocks from where we lived to check if they had the item or items she required. Yes, you guessed: "well, the truck has not made in this week."

Of a different note: my husband has even noticed in getting some salads already packaged, that the bin for them is bare on his arrival two days later. Then two more days after that again, the bin is still empty and the reply the same: "well, the delivery truck has not made their delivery this week!"

"So what day does your delivery truck make their delivery on?"

My question: "where is this 'delivery truck' coming from....China! I mean seriously, do we not grow lettuce anymore in this country? One can order something on line, but I believe it is the same truck that delivers to the grocery store is making the rounds for those big companies as well.
I was wondering about the great technology, why can't delivery systems work the same for getting the produce to market? Just a question from me on that specific thing, but seriously is it always a "truck delivery" issue or the people running the truck delivery thing?

But thanks be to God we did not have to depend of the food delivery truck for salvation! For those running that truck service could not have held up to the pressure Jesus the Redeemer did. He was well acquainted with His father in heaven and by faith depended on Him to raise Him from the dead! In the seriousness of what was at stake, Jesus grew in His knowledge of His father so others could see His walk with Him.

In thinking of that "delivery" truck, do they seriously work at getting the truck to the market or is it a miscommunication somewhere else? Still, am thankful there is a delivery truck and trains for delivering the items we required for living. I remember a day when people grew their own food and canned their vegetables and fruit for use during the fall and winter seasons. And in all that, they only require going to their basement or such to reach for the desired article of food they wanted to serve.

With the vast numbers in population and starvation going on in the famine burdened countries where scarcity is the rule, death is eminent, and politics seems to play some part in some regions of the world, yet Jesus came to set captives free and give life to those who were in need of a Savior.
He did not depend on a truck to make "his delivery". He kept to the purpose His father set for Him and in that walked out the death and resurrection to the glory of the Father who desires for man to be saved.
No, it was love that carried the Message far and wide and people still must hear the Gospel at least once.........and then Jesus will return for His church without spot and without wrinkle.  For the vast population of this world, and the famines seen in other third world nations, is it possible that   "famine " could reach other parts of the world to affect many more people?

Knowing Jesus as Lord, He is the provider for all the Father has for his "sons and daughters". Our trust must be in Him and ask then believing to receive that of which thing we ask for. In all this, it is God's love that is evident. He wants to provide for the children He so dearly loves and you do not have not wait on the "delivery truck" to receive.

We are not to be earth bound in our outlook when receiving Jesus as Lord. We must view everything as it appears in the natural but in reference to God and to eternity. In our now resurrected stated with Jesus we have disconnected from this world and man's wisdom of this world.
As being chose by God for resurrection we have come to His kingdom that Jesus came to set up. As the saved by grace we spoke and believed:
To receive salvation: we Admit our need: for all have sinned and fallen short  of the glory of God:Romans 3:23
Believe Jesus died for you: John 1:12 But as many as received Him to them, He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.
And then we:  Confess Jesus as Lord: Romans 10:9-10 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved!

Yes, thank God salvation and it did not depend on that delivery truck, for we have it today in His name and by faith in that Name: Jesus!
Remember the next time you are at the local grocery market, and an item on your list may not be available because of some truck issue, but remember our Lord and your place in Him, and that you are never without His goodness for you and for your family. Truly your place is in a place of abundance where you lack nothing: Psalm 23: 1-3....nkjv  ..The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want, He makes me to lie down in green pastures, he leads me besides still waters, He restores my soul, He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name's sake.

For the Lord is good and when He becomes our Shepherd, truly we come to a place where we lack no good thing. He leads us into quiet places where there are no riots, but His peace restores our mind, our will and emotions to His plan. For our minds must be tuned into His ways and thoughts and obey His every rule......to love God Himself foremost and to love our neighbors as ourselves.
Yes, it is a wonderful life in knowing Him.
It is a day that He has made for us, "let's rejoice and be glad it in it." I look forward to sharing that life eternally with you! Amen.

Where Our Spirit Fails, God Never Fails

Voice of Prayer
Psalm 143:7-10  Amplified Bible 7 Answer me speedily, O Lord, for my spirit fails; hide not Your face from me, lest I become like those who go down into the pit ( the grave). 8 Cause me to hear Your loving-kindness in the morning for on You do I lean and in You do I trust, Cause me to know the way wherein I should walk, for I lift my inner self to you. 9 Deliver me, O Lord, from my enemies; I flee to You to hide me. 10 Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God; let Your good Spirit lead me into a level country and into the land of uprightness.

Answer me speedily!
Answer me yesterday Lord.....sound familiar. Gee God, I needed the answer yesterday. For many us, we need the answer yesterday to whatever may be occurring today. But if we had been on guard over our walk with Him, we would have known when to spend that extra time praying, and less talking or more time reading His word about something specific instead of looking for the answer from another mouth other than God's mouth.

We are to live by the Bread that comes from heaven. It is life -giving, power packed with all we need and it keeps us safe in God's presence.
That self-gratification thing though can get us into trouble. It takes us places that are terribly unsafe, reckless and where our spirit can fail within us.
David said this in Psalm 143 and reading from verses 1 and 2: Hear my prayer, O Lord, give ear to my supplications! In Your faithfulness answer me, and in Your righteousness. 2 And enter not into judgment with Your servant for in Your sight no man living is [in himself] righteous or justified.

David has prayed. When we get to verses 7-10, we see him praying for his deliverance and the quickening of the Holy Spirit in his life.
David prayed for the agreeable in God. Though really bad things were occurring, still David held on to his convictions that God is good. He was seeking the Spirit of God that would reveal the prudent, the reliable and yes the most wise way to walk on the right path.

There will always be situations in our lives: some mistakes made by us and some made by those who may touch our lives in some way. Still the prayer to God is made for the guidance when trouble is not only prevailing but should be implemented well before something or someone "comes to disturb the peace".

It is holding on to God's peace within His presence, we keep to the level country. Anything outside of God is then revealed that is where the dangers and false speaking lie.

But when we get to verses 11- 12 of Psalm 143 we find this: 11 Save my life, O Lord, for Your name's sake; in Your righteousness, bring my life out of trouble and free me from distress. 12 And in your mercy and loving-kindness, cut off my enemies and destroy all those who afflict my inner self, for I am Your servant.

What David is praying for here is to be helped in his daily devotions to God. Quicken by the Spirit of God is what David desired most. Though so many things were incensed against him, still his thoughts were on keeping his heart open to hearing and receiving God's truth.

No one is exempt from trouble of this world, but when we keep our focus we prevail. Where our spirit seems to fail, we must be strengthened in the word of God and know that He never fails.

I like Psalm 27:13-14 in the Amplified Bible. It states this: 13 [What would have become of me] had I not believed that I would see the Lord's goodness in the land of the living! 14 Wait and hope for and expect the Lord; be brace and of good courage and let your heart be stout and enduring. Yes, wait for and hope for and expect the Lord.

Seeing God's goodness is remaining in Him. It is seeing Him on a daily basis and not once a week for an hour. If we truly are the sons of God, we will glory in His might and strength. If we truly are His sons we will know His voice when He speaks. We will know when He has come to our defense when it is really needed and not when we just whine about something.
He knows us, He knows what we are about. He knows our failings and our triumphs, but they fail in comparison to His great love and glory. Our hearts are to be filled with all that He is from His word. Anything less is the grave!

Keep your peace, gain your strength and let your heart become the stout and the enduring. Make your stand with God and see His glory fill your life. Amen.

In This I will Be Confident

Psalm  27:1-3.........The LORD is my light and my salvation;
Whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the strength of my life;
Of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When the wicked came against me
To eat up my flesh,
My enemies and foes,
They stumbled and fell.
3 Though an army may encamp against me,
My heart shall not fear;
Though war should rise against me,
In this I will be confident.    NKJV

In salvation, we have moved from the desolate to the blessed. We become those who come to the good in the Lord. We come to a place of blessings that God planned for His family. In this Psalm and Psalm 91, we see the particular safety, a great protection, when we abide in the Lord. When we abide in His word it will deliver.
From the above scripture passage, it says, "in this I will be confident", confident in what? He is confident because he has known the light and salvation. He leads us out of trouble, out of that which brings chaos. So there should be "no fear". The Lord becomes our strength, when we abide in those scriptures that lead us to strength.

Like in Psalm 119:28.....My soul melts from heaviness; strengthen me according to YOUR word.

This strength is for the our soul..........our mind, our will and emotions. It is about the "breathing part" of me. That which is born as a person. And that heaviness of soul......is.....the closed off heart.......that which is inward.......and concerned for what is interrupting our life. But God delights to clothe us in a garment of praise for that heaviness of soul. He wants to bring us out of that secrets of heaviness we hold for ourselves and wants us to express the joy of heart .........gladness to being alive......and.....not governed by the five senses.
Five Senses: are feel, what I can touch, what I see with my eye, taste in my mouth, sound, and smell.
These make for bad "masters" for us to be ruled by, ever!
Have you ever made a decision on the "spur" of the moment? Did you afterward feel like your body was an earthquake all by itself? Not a good place to be! Basing any decisions on our senses is folly, indeed! Without that true knowledge, we fall as a victim to those five senses. Making any decision on that fear factor, we move to a place of confusion. Father God is to be our light with His knowledge leading us by His wisdom, but do we choose to blanket ourselves in that confusion where a "terror" grips our souls? When we will not rely on God's word, we become "the driver" of any situation. When we shift the gears to go forward, we are acting on fear based emotions that have taken the command and lead. This place is called "FALSE" EVIDENCE AVENUE!   Our trust is to be in God. We are to have knowledge of the Holy One.
When we seek that gladness, and put on praise......we can see differently. We can actually see with new eyes, that life includes God. Not reflecting on how bad the economy, or what the government leaders are speaking!  Some lead by what was done yesterday or last year. We are to turn from wrong sources for our answers and success. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but He has given power, love and a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7)  Staying in God and His knowledge, teaches us His wisdom and will keep us out of the "fear factor" camp! It is imperative to have light of God's truth shining in on the "thing" or the "man" who has set out to harm us! We certainly saw this in the 2007-2008 Global Crisis when so many lost in the stock exchange fiasco and many lost because they believed the bankers who wanted to lend money on homes that people could not afford. I remember seeing a documentary not soon after all that about Las Vegas and all the brand new homes that stood empty. There was no one living there because all those who had bought could not afford that "new home".

I do not want to be that driver, who will forcefully drive further into darkness and confusion to make a decision. We can be confident that God will preserve you and me and deliver us from the way of evil, from the man who speaks perverse things.
When the enemy appears, we can have courage in our hearts to defeat him with light and truth that is found in God and in Him alone!

Psalm 46:1...God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Well, trouble comes to hassle you, It comes bringing inconvenience, much worry and concern. Yes, trouble is  ANXIETY! In it, one finds if their trust is in God, or in themselves. When trouble comes to trouble us, then we have the "force " of praise to fight against that which would want to dominate our thought life!

Isaiah 40:31...But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. NKJV

But they who will look to the LORD, look upon HIM, shall renew their strength.  This strength is "koach" meaning of firm, with vigor......a force.....that will produce fruit.......a substance. even wealth.
Like eagles, those who look upon the LORD move to another vantage point in looking. They gain their strength by looking into that perfect law of liberty. Keeping our focus on God the Lord, brings a substance........something tangible. We experience that "good" that adds and multiplies us and does not take away from us.
People with strength of the Lord will be noticed by others. When adversity strikes, those people will lead others out of the "problem". That walking is not only a leading others out, but it is a "marching"......a confident trust in the Lord. They can say with confidence, "This is mine, the Lord has given it to me..........and no devil can take it from me.".........type of attitude! This person is one who will be running to the "situation" and taking care of it with the wisdom of God and not running from it. They have kept their eyes on Him and not on things, people, or the world. They keep their focus always!

Psalm 27:1........the Lord is the strength of my life.....of whom shall I be afraid?
I have run to the "Rock" of my salvation.

Isaiah 26:4............4 Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD, is the Rock eternal.
NIV

Psalm 27:2..............2 When the wicked came against me
To eat up my flesh,
My enemies and foes,
They stumbled and fell.
3 Though an army may encamp against me,
My heart shall not fear;
Though war should rise against me

The wicked, the mischief maker, the person who sows discord, those wicked that try to devour the righteous, those who are out for financial gain by speaking lies, those enemies and foes stumble and fall. Though an army encamps against you, the heart shall not fear and even  in war.......but the LORD IS OUR CONFIDENCE!
We are the confident that the Lord will direct us through and lead us on to victory.

.....though war should rise against me...........IN THIS I WILL BE CONFIDENT!

Father, in Jesus' name we pray today for this confidence......that strength, which is of vigor, it is substantial and it is wealth to us.
May we stand today in readiness to receive Your word of truth, that Light and Salvation to us. I pray that each who read this will seek You daily, seeking that strength that brings us to another vantage point. That in worship, that praise of our lips brings us to a joy of heart. I pray that we would be those who would not want to remain in that "secretness" of our own wishes and closing ourselves off to do our own thing, but seek to be part of the secret place in You from Psalm 91:1-2. Dwelling in that secret place with YOU........abiding in Your Word and plan...........and by making YOU the Most High our dwelling, no harm will befall us. No kind of disaster will come near our homes. Lord thank YOU for commanding Your angels concerning us to guard us in all our ways, and that You rescue us. (verse 14) Thank You that YOU protect us, because we acknowledge Your name. And that when we do call on YOU, YOU will answer. We believe to be those who have a long satisfied life. Be glorified and magnified for YOU are good to us Lord. You are our Light and our Salvation. Amen and Amen!

Unbuckled?

On a trip recently to the East Coast, I saw this sign in one state that stated, "Unbuckled? Seriously?
All I could think was the importance of being buckled up, not only in your vehicle but also in the Word of God!
I love belts, and keep a few on hand to wear. Of late though, I wear maybe one a year. I like having those to match my shoes. But I dress up a lot and have no need for a belt.
But on that trip, it was important that even our grand-daughter be buckled in her car seat.

In scripture we find it talks of putting on or girding ourselves with the belt of truth.
Ephesians 6:14-18
14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
NIV

It was prophesied in Isaiah 11:5, of Christ, that righteousness should be the girdle of His loins and faithfulness would be the girdle of His reins. It is God our Father who requires and desires us to have truth in the inward parts.

Psalm 51:5-6
5 Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity,
And in sin my mother conceived me.
6 Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts,
And in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom.
NKJV

In God's word is wisdom, that keeps us safe and guards our bodies. It is His truth that causes us to deal in the sincerity of truth. On one occasion of the trip out to the East Coast, I told our grand-daughter the importance of telling the truth and that the Lord desires us to be truthful in all things, and all matters concerning others.
At one point, she had spoken something, and I asked her if she spoke the truth. I told her to remember  that Jesus is always watching us. She changed her statement and revealed her intent. No matter the age, we all know the "lie".

Paul describes to us in Ephesians 6:14 of the belt. And why does he start with "a belt"? From the the early days of the Roman rule, we were taught of their preparedness in having on the right armor. Paul depicts the importance of the effectiveness of the Roman soldiers armor. The soldier's belt held a place for the trusted sword. The scabbard would hold the sword in place till needed in battle. In earlier reading of the armor of the Roman soldier, we were told of the leather strips that would cover the lower body.
That truth of God should cover us much like a belt. It is to hold everything in place.

Like the seat-belt for our grand-daughter's car seat, it has to be one continuous length of belt.

God's truth we are told is His word. In John 17:17, it states, "sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth."
That word should cleave to our bodies like a belt does. And as Christians we are to test all things. We are to discard the false and keep the true.

In this day and age, if prayer does not bring an immediate answer to a problem or situation, people are ready to call the 1. 800. psychic or seek out the horoscope or some good-luck charm.

If we truly desire the supernatural, then it should be in the Word of God. The word is spirit and truth. It has everything to do with God WHO is high above anything this earth or world could throw at us.
Our daughter was born in the month of October. And whatever may appall us as we watch a little T.V. together, she always announces, "It's October!" For each commercial or advertisement that flashes upon the big screen T.V. has to do with witches, the walking dead, the "horror' if you will, on the most simple of things like chocolate candy. WOW!

The dangers of not wearing a "seat-belt" are well documented. Even on this trip, we heard on the news of those who had died at the scene of an accident as they did not wear a "seat-belt". If I cut myself, I will definitely bleed. If I do not wear a seat-belt, then I am in danger of dying a terrible death.
In living with faith in God and His Word, my trust comes, by believing what He has written to me and bring to me life abundantly. If I keep to the Word of truth, and that truth girds me, it is like the belt that keeps me in place to keep to or adhere to that truth, and I tell the world system to  take a hike. God's speaks to us of peace, restoration, healing, life in abundance of what we need and having a relationship with Him through His Holy Spirit.  My trust in keeping truth, is binding that word continually around my neck and to see that word is written on my heart so that I find favor with God and man. (Proverbs 3:3-4)
It is to practice the word, speak the word, and declare every good thing God has planned for us through His word in the Bible!

You and I can stand firm, with belt of truth buckled around our waist. When we do, then with  the breastplate of righteousness in place, our feet shod with the gospel of peace. and we raise the shield of faith to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

This may not be the look on the pre-fall runway shows, or be the "look" that makes the season's top designer's list, but this will certainly make your walk with God absolute. You will know truth and gird your belt around to keep the sword handy in the event of the devil throwing flaming arrows at you.

This is your front row seat to the latest move of God on your behalf! Dressed with the armor and making certain the belt is girded, fastened and positioned to hold you in place when temptations, sickness or bad reports of any kind come, you will see the supernatural occur in your life!

Father, we thank You that we have been empowered from on high. You have given us the Word of truth, the Gospel to proclaim freedom to the captives. Lord help us to see that we are no longer captives. We have a front row seat to see YOU prevail in our lives. You have robed us in clothes of the kingdom of Light. We do NOT need the tarot cards, or the psychic, Today, Lord, we ask that as we seek to put on this belt, we want to have the longing desire to keep looking into the perfect law of liberty. Lord, we are those who desire to be girded with truth, and to be able to charge the enemy when he rears his ugly head on our land. We pray to rise above frustrations and to be patient that Your word will prevail in our lives. Lord, we pray to turn away from the superstitious and pagan. That we will be those to turn away from tricks, routines, or even bad habits. Help us to see that it is YOU who formed us with a plan for our lives and that we should be seeking YOU whole-heartedly. You are the only supernatural we desire. Lord, have YOUR way in our lives today. Thank You for hearing us pray. We expect we will have Your power from on high to move through any stinking situations and frustrations that are just distractions to us. We want to be on the "walk" with You and know You more intimately. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen!
