One True God

There is a program I try to catch daily, but because the time of it is during the morning , I have to record to watch at a more convenient time. I pay attention to prophets who give the last day prophesy and how it lines up with the Old Testament prophets and their prophecies! Especially today when you have the return of early gods from early Greece. You know the ones, like whom the disciples had to work the Gospel against after Jesus was crucified. For when Paul was imprisoned in Rome, he certainly saw to it that John the apostle and Mary, Jesus’ mother, would move into Ephesus to keep the church going.

Of late, I have heard that this program needs help to stay on the air! Seems like those who would hear have either chosen to vacate their lives for fun world for several weeks in the hot summer sun or else have chosen not to see the kingdom of God go further in touching lives for God’s glory. So they just hoard their money in that “safe” place to use for their next summer fun in the sun adventure!

Was reading about Paul in Ephesus. I loved the parts about him laying his cloths on individuals and seeing them healed for God’s glory. And this proved to be against those who did their magic and incantations in that region. Can you see Paul working and praying in tongues. Then when he has worked he goes out to give people the word of God, the kingdom has appeared and how people are healed in Jesus' name.

Ephesus was notorious for its magical arts and amulets of parchment with inscribed incantations, valued at enormous prices (50,000 pieces of silver), yet freely given up to the flame when their possessors received a living faith found in Acts 19:19 Also many of those who had practiced magic brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted up the value of them and it totaled fifty thousand pieces of silver.

With the evidence of what occurred in Ephesus, Paul writes to Timothy in 2 Timothy 3:13 “seducers (conjurors) shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.  2 Timothy 3: 13 But evil men and imposters will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, 15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

So the very  "special miracles" which God wrought by the hands of Paul were exactly suited to conquer the magicians on their own ground: handkerchiefs and aprons from his body brought as a cure to the sick; evil spirits cast out by him; and when exorcists imitated him, the evil spirits turning on them and rending them.

EPHESUS was the capital of the Roman province “Asia” which included Mysia and Lydia. Ephesus supported a port in that region. This hub connected the great emporium of Asia with the interior. Ephesus was the place where John, Timothy and Mary the mother of Jesus were buried.

It was a proconsul or "deputy" that ruled Asia. We find that he is mentioned in Acts 19: on circuit, holding "the court days are (now being) kept." The "town clerk" had charge of the public records, opened state letters, and took notes of the proceedings in the assembly

Paul encountering those who worship Diana and Zeus, found that his reputation had spread throughout Asia thus making him a threat to the beliefs and lifestyle of many people. When Paul was here, the temple in Ephesus dated back to the eighth century B.C.  This temple was also considered one of the seven wonders of the world.

Acts 19: 26-29 NKJV 26 Moreover you see and hear that not only at Ephesus, but throughout almost all Asia, this Paul has persuaded and turned away man people, saying that they are not gods which are made with hands. 27 For not only is  this trade of ours in danger of falling into disrepute, but also the temple of the great goddess Diana may be despised and her magnificent destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worship. 28 Now when they heard this, they were full of wrath and cried out, saying, “Great is Diana of the Ephesians!” 29 So the whole city was filled with confusion, and rushed into the theater with one accord, having sieved Gaius and Aristarchus, Macedonians, Paul’s travel companions.

Yes, a business recession occurred among the idol makers in Ephesus. The spiritual awakening in the city was widespread. Demetrius, a silversmith, was one of those seriously affected. He made silver shrines of Diana. Serving as a spokesman for the trade, it was Demetrius who would gather together all his fellow craftsmen and sought out to stir the people to take some resolute action against Paul. But Paul had been successful in persuading the people that there are no gods which are made with human hands. For Demetrius had revealed his real motive when he said their trade was in danger, he also colored it with religious tones pretending great reverence for Diana and her temple so business could continue as usual.

Other craftsmen or laborers were also noted who would lose their financial status with the gospel going forward. Acts 19:24-25 For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, who made silver shrines of Diana, brought no small profit to the craftsmen. 25 He called them together with the workers of similar occupation, and said: "men, you know that we have our prosperity by this trade."

So loudly this silversmith proclaims his rights. And the crowd is livid. But the “clerk” gave a speech at a crucial moment. As the city clerk succeeded in quieting the mob, he in effect told the Ephesians that they had nothing to fear. Everyone knew that the Ephesians were the guardians of the shrine of Diana. The “clerk” worked hard to pacify those who have such a fuss. And he reminded them of regular courts of law were open to them and with help proconsuls were ready to hear their charges should they have anything else to reveal. So order was commanded. The city clerk wanted the riot to quiet down so those in Rome would not hear of the complaints as he most certainly would lose his job should Rome heard about was going on.

Protection from the municipalities had occurred. Paul saw the opportunity change for Ephesus. He moved on to the next area. He would go to Macedonia.

Taking just a minute detail from Paul in Ephesus, reveals he proved dangerous to the enemy. Paul had a prayer for the people to have insight.  Ephesians 1:15-19  Amplified Bible 15 For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints ( the people of God), 16  I do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers. 17 For I always pray to the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [ of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [ deep and intimate] knowledge of Him.  18 By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light; so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones), 19 And [ so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength.  In Ephesians 3, he gave the apostle's prayer for power: Ephesians 3:14-21 NKJV 14 For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is name, 16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height---19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. 20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

So how much of His power really works in us, so that we can as Him do the impossible? That power is to complete something. It is an exertion. A power that enables us to accomplish that which He desires us to do for Him and His kingdom. It is cooperating with God and it works as we continue to take on His likeness and enter His kingdom. You cannot work if you are not connected with Him! God wants to counsel us and lead us by His Holy Spirit!

Paul had this available and he taught those in Ephesus of that power. For our strength is by the Holy Spirit. It is by faith and love in Christ’s indwelling that we keep future focused. This is for believers connected and God’s glory. As the believer we are called to responsibility in unity with diligence. Just like we saw those against God in unity, we are to grow in maturing as the body of Christ becoming the Bride Jesus will come for. It is untainted love, to shine as undimmed light bearers and to have on the new man. It is knowing the one true God, pursing His will and wisdom, to maintain the fullness of the Holy Spirit through worship and humility. Ephesians 5:18-21 NKJV 18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, 20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; 21 submitting to one another in the fear of God.

The “clerk” in Ephesus wanted to please the people in their hearing. He wanted to keep his job. But what if we want to reveal the kingdom of God instead? It is according to God’s order. And it is a call to spiritual warfare: the reality of the invisible conflict,  armor for the warrior and the action involved in that warfare. Paul used handkerchiefs and aprons from his body that brought a cure to the sick; evil spirits cast out by him; and when exorcists imitated him, the evil spirits turning on them and rending those broken and bruised.

As Paul was and so are we SEALED by the Holy Spirit authorized to represent Christ, He is also the REAVEALER of Christ, He is the one who enlightens hearts for God’s purpose and he Empowers us to go as Christ strengthens us from within. As the Spirit of unity, and holiness, He is the Giver of the Word as sword for battle and He is on duty even now. Let’s go in Jesus Name and see His kingdom flourish: One true God! Amen.

Sons of Thunder

Voice of Prayer R Twiner
Mark 3:17  James the son of Zebedee and John  the brother of James to whom He gave the name Boanerges, that is "Sons of Thunder".

In reading Mark 3:13-21 a list of names is given. Accordingly they come in the order they are called. It is in the book of Mark that makes a “note” of James and John. He calls them Boanerges or “Sons of Thunder!
Why did He do that?
When my sister and I were young and still in grade school or elementary…but not in Junior High School, I called my sister “Sam”. No that is not her name, and she is not a guy, is not leaning toward being anything at all except what God has called her to be! There had been a show on T.V. called Bewitched and the husband called the wife Samantha but Sam for short. No, I do not remember watching that show for long. And no my sister’s name is not Samantha. She does not look like a Samantha. She has deep blue colored eyes that could penetrate through you. She also had a “ zeal for fun and in climbing trees”.
I am always thinking of when the Lord changes our names….and within this these men are “thunder”. Remembering Jacob’s name was changed to Israel! And so this story continues and names are changed as the Lord changes things and sets up kingdoms, and removes them as well.

I have looked for other scriptures, but alas have not found any that connect with this. So I turned to the commentaries and will continue to look for any scriptural basis for this change. And in regards to my sister, the name most likely represents a strength that comes only from God that is most profound in each of these men and my sister. Zeal will be seen and heard. And active for God will be seen and they will be heard.
Yet, I was the opposite of my sister I would say here. My mother called me the more “reserved” in nature and among people or even among my peers. Still I remember running, laughing and playing games outside with others when even at nine years of age, I thought I could outrun most boys but not my sister. I could not catch a ball as well as her, but certainly had her as my teacher!
And John, this Son of Thunder, would one day write REVELATIONS, the book of the Revelator Jesus Christ.  Well, that thunder is given and is heard. And within that book when opened, declares the most horrific time for mankind all due to sin. But the churches are revealed in Chapter 1-3. In chapter 4 the setting is of the throne of God and the Lamb and the scroll. In chapter 6 reveals the first seal opened and the white horse runs his course.
We are to hear what the Lord speaks and it is given by the Holy Spirit. Each church is given an urgent warning to hear “what the Spirit says”….chapter 2:3. In this is the prophecy given and bears witness to Jesus (Revelation 19:10) All genuine prophecy demands a response. “The Spirit and the bride say, "Come". Revelation 22:17
John relates “The Revelation of Jesus Christ.” Revelation 1:1
For the last book, a son of thunder wrote of the revelator and declares of that which is coming. Horrific indeed, yet there is a new Jerusalem coming, and the Bride of the Lamb will be there. (Revelation 21:9-21) And we will see the light of God’s presence in the place. (Revelation 21:22-27)
I desire to be there. I desire to that which is called the prophecy of Jesus Christ and to see His kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.
May we be “sons of thunder” to declare the Lord’s soon return and the glorious life of living with Him for an eternity. May we fully share in His present and future victory as well as in the present and future marriage supper.
Lord thank You for making Your home in us to dwell in us as we dwell in  YOU! Revelation 21;22
To God be all the glory….

THAT PROPHETIC WORD!

WHAT captures our attention? When God speaks, especially in that prophetic Word, it is one that may delight us, may cause us to remember that the "natural" has to line up with the supernatural of God's Word, can warn us, and sometimes bring shock.

They say there are a lot of prophecies the last several months concerning disasters, some economic downturns, but our focus is on what the Lord is speaking. Especially in this the Jewish Year of 5774. I heard a lot about those whose objective is seeing this whole world running towards Armageddon and how the world was coming to an end. Oh my, where did they get all that. Recently I wrote on the orphan and that mentality.

Excerpt from the .....blog......: Orphan: That One Who Can Finish Strong!

Many people today are voicing loudly their life of the desolate. Many have not seen the example of a "figure" to lead them with wisdom. Many today have been led by maybe a sibling or friend and most have been taken far from the place of being nurtured in love, but brought up in neglect, or left as in abandonment, and in deprivation of anything to sustain them to life. Love never enters the arena where they reside. These are they who are usually used in some way for another's gain.

These are the "orphans"!
This has come on my heart to write in the last few days. I was never left an orphan, but I met many who had been left to their own devices. I met many who had to fend for themselves, and I saw the mistakes they made by trying to be "grown up" when there was still so much of a child inside. One young lady who had failed a couple of years in school, desired to quit school and marry. I remember watching this game being played at our school one afternoon. It was a basketball practice being held outside and I remember sitting next to this young teen. Although she was some three years older than me, I liked her gentle spirit. She loved to talk and so did I.  I was in Jr. High and liked being that age and being in school.I loved "homework"!  But this one talked how she wanted to be married and take care of a home. I wondered, "does someone really like cleaning house and cooking food"? Remember I was in Jr. High.

I believe too many are afraid to face the future. I hear those "words" going out ..........and I always think of Chicken Little.......you know......" the sky is falling" mentality. I know what the Lord has shown me and it is not to fear the future. Our Father has a future for us..............those who believe............for there is no lack in God's kingdom.
Again, thinking on the young lady...........I wonder who steered her towards marrying at such a young age. I wonder who told her how great it was to "clean house". I knew for myself, that my parents desired me to get an education. They were not seeking to having me to be married off at sixteen.

There is a harvest coming...of many souls for the kingdom............and there must be finances to bring that harvest in............not by hiding out in bunkers or those buildings put up for family only............hording dried food, and water, but giving now.........reaching out to others now..........for IF everyone got in their bunkers, hid out............and kept as much for themselves, then who would want to hear about Jesus? Who would want to come to a kingdom where Chicken Little rules? I would not want a place like that.

I know what I have been taught, and I know what the Father speaks............I know without a doubt that there is a real coming time to have supplies on hand for those sudden emergencies not expected, and we are to be obedient to ready ourselves to do that as the Lord has shown or directed us to do. WE certainly have supplies on hand for the Cascadia Event! (anyone living in the area of the Cascadia Subduction zone should know what preparation they should undertake for a sudden impact to this region) The warning for that has been going on now for almost two years!

We have also watched those informational news programs given by those who study these kind of earthquakes and how far they will reach inland. Have you? Also, we have learned what the area west of I-5 will look like after a cataclysmic Cascadia Subduction Zone quake will look like or where it will be located after the event!
But also being prepared is knowing that we are not left to our own devices. We surely need His wisdom on this, do we not?  God has given us His Word to direct us to a future that hope resides.  I know there are many today say they spend time in the Word and researching and the such.......but I see them more like those groping in darkness for any hint of light. The world can certainly bring the most unexpected things on the scene, but we do not have to receive them. We are suppose to be those who are just passing through to our home in heaven. We are to be those who take the truth of God and believe it. His powerful words are to be set up in our hearts where victory comes from. If we stay in the doom and gloom, then why get up in the morning, and why try to clothe yourself?
But God has bestowed on us the family name. He has given us the righteous garments. And we are the empowered:

Daniel 11:32
32 Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.  NKJV

Those who know their God will be the strong and carry out great exploits.
Doing those exploits is cultivating that relationship with Him.
Getting to know someone new, we take time to meet with them........speaking to them and they to us!
We know Him by observing how He does things. We notice when He is quiet and when He has a lot to say to us!
We become the strong when we become confident in what He is showing us by His Word and what He speaks.
We become those like our daughter who could take a group of teens to the Panamanian Jungle in 2000.
In the scripture below we find a prophet who spoke about a great famine throughout the world.
Acts 11:28
28 Then one of them, named Agabus, stood up and showed by the Spirit that there was going to be a great famine throughout all the world, which also happened in the days of Claudius Caesar.  NKJV

We can see famine coming.......we see the months with little or no rain. But our hope is for the Northwest to be rainy all nine months! Those who live in the Northwest are the expectant that Fall, Winter and Spring will be rainy, wet-filled days, little wind, and see no famine ever.
Prophetic words can come. They come in the form of warnings, in the form of knowledge concerning people, places or things or come as what is in the mind and will of God.
In looking at Acts 11, we also see Agabus giving a personal prophecy to Paul. He did not tell Paul to go to Jerusalem, but he simply showed Paul what would happen to him there.

Those prophetic words need to be kept where we can see them and remind ourselves God gave us His heart on them. When they are from Him, they will come to pass when we expect them, when we keep watching, keep seeking, although some can be delayed at times, but we check ourselves to see why they are being delayed. And that prophetic word will confirm what God is saying to your own spirit man.

Always remember to put God's Word first and foremost. Being confident in what God is saying at this moment is something to be treasured, and is important as a family member of God. What God is speaking to us is important for others to know. That Word will build us up and not tear down. Any tearing down is done by the Holy Spirit and He will do it in a gentle way. But we also must ask Him to be here to guide us and to direct us into and through circumstances we do not expect.

As we saw in Jesus' ministry, we know that the modern day prophets prepare a people for the Lord by pointing to that intimate relationship with HIM! Please see John 3:29. Jesus pointed  out in His ministry that those who spoke by lies were of their father the devil,

John 8:42-47
42 Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and now am here. I have not come on my own; but he sent me. 43 Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. 44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. 45 Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me! 46 Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don't you believe me? 47 He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God."   NIV

Jesus told us in John 8....that those of God would love Jesus. He also spoke of the language He spoke and asked them why was it not clear to them!  For Jesus nailed it when He said, "you belong to your father, the devil and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth  in him."
He even asked if they could find HIM guilty of sin. Then the most astounding thing He spoke: "He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God."
So Jesus was equipping those to discern God's voice.

Like we have talked about and seen...........those of the cursed tree will ultimately wither and die. That of the living tree will produce fruit. Pay attention, watch the signs, and do not fly off like Chicken Little, but keep your composure as your peace will be in God and NOT in this world's economy. May God bless the works of your hands for His kingdom.
