Does God have our Attention?

We are Not to Withstand God (not to stand opposed in firm determination or with strong resistance ) Blood, Fire, Vapor and Smoke: Cosmic signs will appear toward the Day of the Lord. Will inspire awe for believers and terror for unbelievers. Some see it as a revival, but it is far more…it is also judgment on unbelievers !

Revelation 6:12-17 NKJV I looked when He opened the 6th seal, & behold, there was a great earthquake & the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, & the moon became like blood. 13 And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, as a fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind. 14 Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up & every mountain & island was moved out of its place. 15& the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men & the commanders, the mighty men, every slave & every free man, hid themselves in the caves & in the rocks of the mountains, 16 & said to the mountains & rocks, “Fall on us & hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne & from the wrath of the Lamb! 17 For the great day of His wrath has come, & who is able to stand?”

In reading through Revelation, you find the seals being opened. Of the first four seals represents that of persecution to Christians. It is a testing and sifting time for those who will stay with their Lord or follow the anti-type against truth! The white horseman is sent. Here one can see destruction start on unbelieving Israel. The second horseman is war and bloodshed. He is the firey red steed. He represents the slaughter that will come. The third, that of the black horse represents poverty and famine. In this is there seen that of much sorrow, much death with mourning, and there is desolation. (see in Isaiah 50:3; Jeremiah 4:28 and Lamentations 5:10.

The rider holds in his hand a “pair of scales” representing economic terms where food prices rise some twelve times the normal price. The fourth rider is the pale rider of the yellowish-green horse. The rider’s name is Death! Pestilence like is seen in corona-virus. Then the wild beasts are sent out. It is here when saints on earth cry out. It is when prayer is sent upward by both saints and those who would be martyrs. Asking for God’s vindication: Luke 18:7-8.

The sixth seal is opened.: earthquakes, and storms, will affect the moon and sun. There is the falling of stars; and terrors on earth.

Not sure where you live who read this, but some most likely in a region where earthquakes dominate the land! We hear of many on what is called the Sandwich Islands and then again, we hear of regular tremors somewhere along the ring of fire in the Pacific Ocean.

Earthquakes like Cascadian Subduction Zone will occur and will be far worse than that of Yellowstone : Ash will fall not from 1 volcano but from many volcanoes with great eruptions: boulders thrown out by heaving mountains filled with volatile gases in seismic eruptions responding to plates shifting, mixing gases, soil with rock debris & hot lava will flow like rivers ; light of the sun, moon & stars will be blocked by that which fills the atmosphere from volcanic activity: No sunlight will enter/winter will begin, a scenario for that inundated by a severe volcanic apocalypse /Tsunamis will take out coast lines:& Gospel Message will be given

In this text of the sixth seal is a straightforward and uncomplicated detail. But this seal has a far more importance in that it is referring to judgment and gives the effect the signs have on the people of the earth. In Revelation 6, the first seal is opened. The Lamb of God opens it. The first rider is equipped with the bow but no mention of arrows!

The seal is opened: a great earthquake. This would seem to make a great land mass to move. You can see the effects given in Acts 16 when Paul and Silas are locked away in a prison for doing God’s will on earth. It was for God’s purpose indeed!

But when we see the terms of anger and punishment given, God caused an earthquake to open the ground in the wilderness and swallow Korah and his fellow rebels found in Numbers 16:31-32. This passage is a good read when people rebel against God. We should know what God has given to us for knowledge of Him.  Verse 32: “and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up, with their households and all the men with Korah, with all their goods. 33 So they and all those with them went down alive into the pit; the earth closed over them, and they perished from among the assembly.”

Found in Psalm 18:7, David writes, "Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of the hills also quaked and were shaken, because He was angry" (see Isaiah 5:25; Nahum 1:2-5). God prophesies in Isaiah 13:11, 13, "I will punish the world for its evil, and the wicked for their iniquity. . . . Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth will move out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of His fierce anger."

Yes, the word earthquake makes a frequent appearance in the passages of the Bible. Revelation 8:5 reveals one accompanying when the seventh seal is opened. Also noted is that of the two Witnesses found in Revelation 11:13.  In the same hour there was a great earthquake and a tenth of the city fell. In the earthquake seven thousand people were killed, and the rest were afraid and gave glory to the God of heaven.

When the seventh trumpet sounds there is another quake: Revelation 11:19 The temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of His covenant was seen in His temple. And there were lightnings, noises, thundering, an earthquake and great hail.

Revelation 16:18 and there were noises and thundering and lightnings; and there was a great earthquakes, such a mighty and great earthquake as had not occurred since men were on the earth.  In this a great city has fallen completely. These who oppose Christ, the many people’s are judged!

A remnant watches for the Lord’s coming. When the Holy Spirit was first given: was drop by drop through this prophet like  Elijah, then a drop so to speak through that prophet Isaiah, also to that prophet Daniel and  through the many others….but still drop by drop.   Deuteronomy. 32:2 Let my teaching (doctrine) drop down as the rain, My speech distill as the dew, as raindrops on the tender herb, and as showers on the grass.

Jesus, the Lord of glory, will be bringing universal change of nature by His Holy Spirit. This outpouring of the Spirit is very comfortable to the righteous, those who go beyond any religion in their walk with the Lord. Their hearts are set to His truth and not to man's lies! Matthew 5:20 for I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes & Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.

But the unrighteous hear this and they tremble. That is a day coming, the Lord will be seen, but what ushers His coming is the wonders in heaven & earth, blood, & fire, and pillars of smoke. It is coming soon: the sun becomes dark and the full moon will turn as blood! How much will we see, well God knows!

It was Jesus’ death that occurred as the result of the plan & foreknowledge of God. But it was the free and very sinful acts of the many human beings that executed the plan. What you see in this nation is also going on around the world in other nations as well!

How can the two work together for the end of days?

Those who are the true followers of Jesus have the Holy Spirit of truth, they hold the Gospel in their hearts, for they pray and they heed the warnings coming to earth! Many signs and wonders will fill the earth & heaven! And these will usher in a harvest of many people. Just as the Holy Spirit was hovering over the face of the deep in Genesis 1, He still hovers  over God’s plan and it is a good one! Are you ready to see what comes next?  I am!

A great event will be occurring: Joel 2:30-31 describes the same event: "And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: blood and fire and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and terrible day of the LORD."

In what is called the Olivet Prophecy, Jesus repeats the warning found in Matthew 24:29 and Mark 13:24-25: "Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken".

The Event is given in detail of signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men's hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of heaven will be shaken. (Luke 21:25-26)

When men's hearts are failing, it is because they have faith in men and not in God. They can have faith in their workplace to receive that check! But what happens when that company closes down or you have to do something that involves you health-wise to keep that job? Will our trust be in the Lord or will we take something deadly into the body that kills in time?

No men should have faith in Jesus, the Savior of the world!

In the Sun Darkened: John gives a really good description of that darkness of the sun as "black as sackcloth of hair" found in Revelation 6:12, he was comparing it to the black goat hair used to make sackcloth and tents in the day in which he lived. This may depict a solar eclipse or possibly a massive dust storm caused by a volcanic explosion. Even today, smoke from fire and volcanic ash hinder plane travel in some regions of the world.

In the teaching of the plagues of Egypt, the 9th plague was a “darkness which was felt” and I remember telling of this same thing, when we were on vacation one year when we traveled to some caverns in Carlsbad, New Mexico. As a youth with my family, we hiked downward into this large open room some 800 feet below sea level, and some 50 people with us huddled together in this damp cathedral type room to experience “lights out”! AND the darkness felt like it was embracing you. Yes, might God Himself repeat something so wild as a darkness that is so thick you cannot see your hand before your face. Might you experience that darkness that has some type of life to it, that it scares you?

Whatever the case, visibility will be severely limited, even during the daylight hours while people are about their daily business!

Chilling truth is there is a sight of moon like blood. Calamity and death as seen in war can be seen in that color of the 2nd horse seen in Revelation 6:4. We have conditions here today of smoke and dust in the atmosphere. It is not an eruption but fires burning in California, Oregon and all the way into Canada! This smoke can lay in the gorge areas of Washington and one cannot see the sun, but only a gray cloud floating that has the stinky smell of smoke. Saw a visual on the weather channel this morning concerning smoke. With the fires here and on the other side of the world, there is this non-stop plume of smoke circling daily the earth.

The Stars will fall and within John's imagery there reflects countless late figs blown down by the violent winter wind as seen in verse 13. Most likely this will be a meteor shower of immense proportions, possibly containing larger-than-normal meteorites, thus increasing the effect and making it seem as if the stars themselves are falling. We hear of many near misses, but some have made their way through our atmosphere to touch the surface of the earth.  Some meteors have landed in Russia. And that of Apophis, a super meteor is to come to earth in 2029 and they say you will be able to see it visually with your own eyes sometime in the year 2025. ( thinking they mean with a telescope) But seriously, that is not too far off now from 2021!

The Sky is to recede. It will appear like a scroll rolling up. The mountains and islands will move. Such a convulsion of the earth will cause massive land transformations. The shifting of all land and that which is under the sea, all will face a violent shaking that  will see much destruction and a loss of life. I keep wondering if that is happening now. Where the sun sets in the west seems to be setting in a different place from last year September 2020.

The sixth seals’ disturbances all point to a cataclysmic force where the land is in a calamity, nothing is stable, not the earth under our feet.

“And who is able to stand?” Well this is answered in Revelation 7 where 144,000 servants of God on earth (Revelation 7:1-8) and the innumerable multitude of saints arriving heaven seen in Revelation 7:9-17. These 144,000 are able to stand on earth protected by God’s seal in verses 2-4. And the innumerable  multitude stands in triumphant before the throne of heaven in verse 9-10.

And then the silence! Oh yes, that silence. It will be thirty minutes of silence. No one anywhere will speak. Those sealed by God will stand. They are sealed by the Holy Spirit and that is found in 2 Corinthians 1:22 and Ephesians 4:30. Of the 144, 000 sealed is found in verses of Revelation 7:2-.

After the silence, it is full speed ahead! It is final judgment time. Do you think they will have a "double jeopardy" question to answer? Because double is the danger coming to those who resist God and His Son Jesus! Does God have our attention? Do we take note of the changes going on around us in nature? Or do we blow off any word from Him when He tries to give us warning of what is coming?

Revelation 1:3 reminds us of this: Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those  things which are written in it; for the time is near.

Yes, the time is nearing. Only this Gospel has this prophecy of warning. No other has the prophecy. No other will know but those who heed the word of God and live. We read, we hear and place His word in our hearts, because that day is fast approaching. But for you and I, we live and move and have our being in Him. And without Him….all is lost. Does God have our attention, yet?

First Responders

Voice of Prayer
Do you ever pay attention when someone speaks of "those First Responders"? You know those first on the scene to give attention to the injured, the first willing to give assistance to what they may find on "the scene" of twisted metal resulting from a derailed train.
Was thinking this morning upon arising and wanted to check a quick look at the weather for today for our area, then I saw the horrific wreck of a fast train, from Seattle derailed and scattered in all directions of Interstate 5 in Washington!
Now we have had on occasion a family member or two to ride that fast train, but when they took it was more for pleasure to take a young child on their first train ride.

But in looking at the scenes they continued to show, I spent more than an hour watching to find out if anyone survived. And yes those on the roadway had survived, but those on the train were without seat-belts and left to be thrown forward or like passenger reported, "to be catapulted forward" and when you are not expecting the abrupt stop, and rock-and-roll of such a sizable vehicle. What may have  been a quick business trip, turned upside down into chaos.

For whatever the cause, there is always something done that will affect another! Just look at I-5 in a snowstorm and people will leave their vehicles when they lose traction from their tires....only to affect other people who probably can make it just find for they prepared with the proper snow tires, with chains on only to find the road blocked by those who chose to stop in the middle of a lane and walk home in subzero temps!

Oh, those First Responders, who show up to put out fires like we have seen in rapid succession from Washington to California and beyond. We have seen them run to those areas of Houston, to get in boats to help those stranded by the ever growing flood that came to that region in August of 2017.
My husband had opportunity to talk with a First Responder who was from Maine. He is a firefighter and came with a group of men who travel far from family and friends, the home they love to fight fires in all regions of this country. A First Responder gives, and they give a lot!
Heard of two lives of fire fighters lost this past week. One from California and one from Oregon. Each devoted their lives to helping others, and they lost their own lives doing it.

Again, First Responders, are those when the child on the playground gives the first hint of pain. They cry out, then sometimes a great cry with sobs as they bury their face in their own hands trying to push away tears to find mother or maybe day care provider who is close by. But the First Responder is evident in who gets to the crying child first.
If you travel to many parks for your child or grandchild to enjoy, you know of what I write here. You have seen maybe two parents available, but one just looks on while the other runs to the painful cries. Yes, you can see that played out regularly and why is only one will respond to the scene playing out in tears, maybe some blood, and possible dirty faces, hands and scraped knees?

While thinking and meditating the scene playing out, I was reminded of the woman brought to Jesus who was caught in the act of adultery.
John 8:3-12 NKJV  3 Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery.
And when they had set her in the midst, 4 they said to Him, "Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act. 5 Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?"
6 This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though he did not hear. 7 So when they continued asking Him, He praise Himself up and said to them, "He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first."
8 And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. 9 Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. 10 When Jesus had raise Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, "Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?"
11 She said, "No one Lord." And Jesus said to her, "Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more."12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life."

For this world, Jesus was speaking that the darkness and all it covers is far from Him. In Him is light and life, to bring people from chaos into the place of "peace, love and joy " in Him! For those First Responders, they point no fingers of who is in the wrong, but they fight their way through flames to make right what was made wrong either by just a freakish event to something caused by man to commit some kind of heinous act against other men, other families, to people and their homes , to their jobs and even to their lives.
As the First Responder we see first on the scene of man-kind was Jesus. And He still lights the way to that which is truth and life to us! Jesus came to set the captives free, to move us from the chaos to peace in Him. He came to move us to victory in the purpose God set for us to have, and the inheritance comes to those who would be His sons and daughters.

We each can be like the First Responders! For just like the firefighters, the police officers, and those paramedics, we too can possibly be the first on the scene to see someone who needs a Savior, one who needs encouragement in their faith walk, someone who needs the word of God to understand more firmly that our lives should be the determined to obey the Lord and align to His will.

As the First Responder, let us not neglect our ministry to HIM! Let us worship and be thankful this year and every year so that we might draw on that which Jesus gave and from His life so healing will flow, and our lives will demonstrate the goodness of God to those who might need the great Medic, Jesus Christ!
Jesus wrote on the ground, and many of them I think were concerned of what He wrote. But one thing is certain, that Jesus came, He bowed not to their rant. He bowed His knee to the Father and in full view, He gave voice of His whole body for that of which He came. He wrote in the dust of that which of men would soon return to the dust of whence they came.
No finger pointing allowed when Jesus is there to protect those who are the bullied by those who commit the same crime as these did against this woman!
We are not to hold another in condemnation, we are not to point to those mistakes, for truly God makes known what must be made known and real in His own time, when truth is revealed.
Luke 12:3 "Therefore whatever you have spoken in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have spoken in the ear in inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops."

THE Competitive SIDE

Jesus was never about competing for attention!
He never talked in the city gates about Himself!
No, He was about speaking of His Father.
Interesting was that the disciples focused on His comments and His heart concerning His passion of what would occur in the days and weeks ahead of Him, concerning His first given word on His coming crucifixion.

Matthew 16:21-28
21 From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day. 22 Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, "Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You!" 23 But He turned and said to Peter, "Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men."

24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. 26 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? 27 For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works. 28 Assuredly, I say to you, there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom."   NKJV

As I meditate this passage, and the passage of Matthew 20:20-28
the disciples had a view of the kingdom which was not the view Jesus was relating to them. People desire to be number 1! They want their name known around the world, live in fancy surroundings that is spelled out in palaces, millions of dollars, and more material stuff that you need or require a storage unit to store all the "stuff".
Too many times, people only look for the "stuff" Jesus can get to them and their own fame and glory and then never consider what price He paid for us to have salvation in His Name.!

That suffering in His Name most would like to AVOID. They consider those Words of suffering, of trouble and Refiner's fire as FIGHTING WORDS.
YIKES!
But what we do for and in His Name is higher. He serve and He gave!
What an amazing life!

 Matthew 20:20-28
20 Then the mother of Zebedee's sons came to Him with her sons, kneeling down and asking something from Him. 21 And He said to her, "What do you wish?" She said to Him, "Grant that these two sons of mine may sit, one on Your right hand and the other on the left, in Your kingdom." 22 But Jesus answered and said, "You do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?" They said to Him, "We are able." 23 So He said to them, "You will indeed drink My cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with; but to sit on My right hand and on My left is not Mine to give, but it is for those for whom it is prepared by My Father." 24 And when the ten heard it, they were greatly displeased with the two brothers. 25 But Jesus called them to Himself and said, "You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. 26 Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. 27 And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave-- 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."    NKJV

Yes, that competitive side of the male came into being. The mother of Zebedee's sons came to him asking for favor for them to seated with Him in His kingdom. Many people want that royal seat to be FRONT and CENTER yet few are willing to pay the price in study, in prayer and in the RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD  to see that occur.

But Jesus' heart was the Father's glory and not His own. His was to do the will of His Father. The FRONT ROW SEAT was THE CROSS!

In this valued testimony written for our benefits, I think on the game of golf.
I am no golfer other than miniature golf. So when my husband and daughter play I am in awe how anyone can keep up with that tiny "very white" ball.  Our daughter desires the fluorescent  colored balls so she can keep a clear watch on where "it" flies and where it might land!

In that game, and the clear cut of grass, one would certainly want to stay out of the trees, the waterways, and the areas that are not within the playing area. Yeah, stay out of the rough!

In watching, I am amazed how the ball can fly so high and fall to the ground and roll and roll and roll! The terrain you hit that ball in and toward, will determine the balls outcome. The point you know is to get that teeny ball down the length of the green in very few strokes of the club and then down that ball into that hole that the flag beckons you too!
In and around these areas, from teeing off to finding the ball on the edge of the well manicured green, you find in some instances that "sand trap". Considered bad and the dangerous area, the sand trap is where well meaning, (good) people lose their cool. Although my gang here does not go into the sand traps yet they manage that ball to keep it out of that sandy mess, but close by that sand area.

Our lives can look like a golf tourney. Our lives can have many people on board, around and just observing. As they view life, ours is living it. In the moving down the green, we certainly pray and believe knowing our trust is in God and that He is with us. In that we continue, from hole 1 to hole 2, then hole 3.
By the 9th, the issues become apparent. That need to get that ball down to where that flag waves definitely in the breeze mocks one as they try their best to do that hard putt. Now some see it as a challenge, some see it as joy and others just see it as a few hours riding around in the golf cart watching all the other golfers, mince, lose their balls, roll their eyes, see those cute carts go past you on a one lane pathway as they qualify for the Indy 500.............. because you are either too slow either by no practice, or some practice. If we saw the golf game like with another hole to get "my flag" raised would not mean much. We certainly like those times when the ball goes into that round hole and the experience on the next hole takes on the new hope, the new adventure of being master over a tiny ball. Yes life can look like that golf course, hidden there within are the sand traps, the grove of trees, that standing water filled full and with those cat-tails and mosquitoes. Yeah what fun, right?

When Jesus told His disciples what was to occur, they balked in such a way, that Jesus rebuked Peter for getting in His way and the plan that was set by the Father. We should not be alluded into thinking all our days are coming up roses when being saved. Roses have thorns!

Jesus spoke this in John 17:25-26
25 O righteous Father! The world has not known You, but I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me. 26 And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them."  NKJV

Jesus prayed.

In John 17 and verses 6 and 26….the Greek word for Name is onoma. When Jesus spoke this: He was speaking the authority, the character, the very majesty, and the power of His very excellence which belongs to God. He was expanding and advancing God’s name on the earth and in the earth.
In His prayer to God He said this: “I have manifested Your authority, Your character, Your very majesty, Your very power and excellence has been given to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.

When we can see with our spiritual eyes and understand in our hearts that being united with the Father is not about competition with others. Being united with the Father presents to us the opportunity to participate with the Son as the Son did with the Father. How much more should we expect to see His glory and His majesty to be declared  through our voice?

If one has a VOICE it is because God our Father has given them His wisdom to speak, to teach and to declare.

Playing golf will take you around the green, the well-manicured and the smooth. Still other places will take you across the sand trap, down into the well filled ditches of water and cat-tails. And in other places, the trees just blot out the sun, the leaves hide the ball and you are forever searching in all the debris that accumulates around those out of the way places. Still if we would consider that our life is mapped out. Just like Jesus, He was walking toward crucifixion and death. He was going to die at the hands of those He came to save. We can get into sand traps, end up looking into the tree grove for the teeny white ball and yet come out with a cut on the hand, dried leaf attached to the shoe lace and some kind of spider crawling down the arm of your jacket.
Keeping God and His Word is evident when we declare it to others. The place you will be seated.....well, it comes with a price. It is just in relationship with the Father and many do not want to take the time. They are the busy, bogged down in the sand trap, held down by devices that were never meant to hurt, stop or kill.
In competition, the measuring is done wrong. For those in His kingdom, that measuring is that plumb to check out if our hearts are filled completely with His righteousness. The rightful place will not just be given, but handed to the one who suffered for Christ and for the Name that SAVES.
Jesus WAS NOT HUMAN ENDORSED.
HIS DIVINITY WAS OF GOD!

He voiced the Father, and raised the awareness that heaven had come to earth.
Jesus did not elevate Himself. In leaders that prove their handicap in hate, Jesus walked amid the treachery. His disciples proved their competitive side, and Judas.......well, he wanted the kingly rule now with money, palaces, and royalty.

I know those who value Jesus and all that He spoke and did about the Father should be our example. For those who value Him will rise and be seated with Him. Those who lightly esteem or value Him will reside elsewhere.
Many try to jockey for positions in His kingdom. He gave His gifts to men. We are to know what we are anointed to do. If prayer, then pray. Prayer is never wasted time, it always speaks to the Father and of His glory. And like Jesus spoke, "Holy Father".....He touched heaven to change where He was born, lived, and died.

Jesus did it with humility.May we see that the power and the scope of His teaching was truth and gained Him favor with God and with man!

No Voice, No Answer, No one Pays Attention

1 Kings 18:25-30
25 Now Elijah said to the prophets of Baal, "Choose one bull for yourselves and prepare it first, for you are many; and call on the name of your god, but put no fire under it." 26 So they took the bull which was given them, and they prepared it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even till noon, saying, "O Baal, hear us!" But there was no voice; no one answered. And they leaped about the altar which they had made. 27 And so it was, at noon, that Elijah mocked them and said, "Cry aloud, for he is a god; either he is meditating, or he is busy, or he is on a journey, or perhaps he is sleeping and must be awakened." 28 So they cried aloud, and cut themselves, as was their custom, with knives and lances, until the blood gushed out on them. 29 And when midday was past, they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice. But there was no voice; no one answered, no one paid attention.

30 Then Elijah said to all the people, "Come near to me." So all the people came near to him. And he repaired the altar of the LORD that was broken down.
NKJV

These prophets of Baal were serving Queen Jezebel. She was the wicked and hateful queen who had Baal worship implemented into the Hebrew nation when she married King Ahab. She was the severe in rules and regiments. She was the unforgiving, the uncompromising toward evil, and who brought others into her way of thinking and doing things. She lived in witchcraft and dealt it into other people's lives.

In this confrontation on Mt. Carmel, Elijah is having a face-off with those false prophets of Baal. Elijah told them to choose one bull for themselves to prepare. Call on your god Baal and put no fire under it.
We see from verse 26 that the bull was received and they prepared it. They then called on the name of Baal from morning till noon saying, "O Baal, hear us!"

What brought these false prophets and Elijah together? Well, there was famine in the land! It had not rained, and the land was becoming a dust bowl. In the thinking of the King Ahab, we find who the leader of that land was leaning toward who troubled Israel.

1 Kings 18:17-24
17 Then it happened, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said to him, "Is that you, O troubler of Israel?" 18 And he answered, "I have not troubled Israel, but you and your father's house have, in that you have forsaken the commandments of the LORD and you have followed the Baals. 19 Now therefore, send and gather all Israel to me on Mount Carmel, the four hundred and fifty prophets of Baal, and the four hundred prophets of Asherah, who eat at Jezebel's table."

Yes, Ahab was calling Elijah the "troubler" of Israel. But Elijah's response was that Ahab and his father's house had forsaken the commandments of the LORD and followed the Baals. Yes, there was no compromise in Elijah, and he nailed it when he spoke.  He was telling Ahab that because of their entire household ( King Ahab and Queen Jezebel) toward the carnality and worshiping the Baals, that their household had on display 24-hours a day, the worship of sin was bringing down his house and the land of Israel. Jezebel served corruption at her table!

20 So Ahab sent for all the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets together on Mount Carmel. 21 And Elijah came to all the people, and said, "How long will you falter between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him." But the people answered him not a word.
22 Then Elijah said to the people, "I alone am left a prophet of the LORD; but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men. 23 Therefore let them give us two bulls; and let them choose one bull for themselves, cut it in pieces, and lay it on the wood, but put no fire under it; and I will prepare the other bull, and lay it on the wood, but put no fire under it. 24 Then you call on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the LORD; and the God who answers by fire, He is God." So all the people answered and said, "It is well spoken."
NKJV

So Elijah tells the false prophets who have been sent by Ahab to make a statement for their idol Baal. But Elijah asks them, "How long will you falter between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal, then follow him." But no one answered.

Let's read again, 1 Kings 18:25-40......that Elijah invites them to choose one bull for themselves. Cut it into pieces, lay it on the wood, but put no fire on it.
Elijah takes the other bull, and prepares it. He laid it on the wood,

1 Kings 18:25-40

It  was noon and the prophet Elijah mocked them in their very demonstrative way of leaping, and crying loudly for the god Baal to answer them. Elijah asked them if the god might be sleeping, or if he was busy or on a long journey.
They used knives to cut themselves, as was their custom, their way of doing something to get another's attention specifically Baal. It was the "way of doing and behaving what they were told to do" and they did it. And the blood gushed out of those wounds they had made in their skin. That was a lot of cutting. Then midday had passed and was almost time of the evening sacrifice.
There was NO Voice, NO Answer, NO ONE PAID ATTENTION!
There was no answer. All that doing, all that yelling, all that crying building into a moment of silence. They came up empty. They came up as a group but they had no power. They served the god who was not the LORD. Verse 29 says that they prophesied till the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice.

30 Then Elijah said to all the people, "Come near to me." So all the people came near to him. And he repaired the altar of the LORD that was broken down. 31 And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, to whom the word of the LORD had come, saying, "Israel shall be your name."

32 Then with the stones he built an altar in the name of the LORD; and he made a trench around the altar large enough to hold two seahs of seed. 33 And he put the wood in order, cut the bull in pieces, and laid it on the wood, and said, "Fill four water pots with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice and on the wood." 34 Then he said, "Do it a second time," and they did it a second time; and he said, "Do it a third time," and they did it a third time. 35 So the water ran all around the altar; and he also filled the trench with water. 36 And it came to pass, at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near and said, "LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known this day that You are God in Israel and I am Your servant, and that I have done all these things at Your word. 37 Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that You are the LORD God, and that You have turned their hearts back to You again." 38 Then the fire of the LORD fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood and the stones and the dust, and it licked up the water that was in the trench. 39 Now when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces; and they said, "The LORD, He is God! The LORD, He is God!" 40 And Elijah said to them, "Seize the prophets of Baal! Do not let one of them escape!" So they seized them; and Elijah brought them down to the Brook Kishon and executed them there.
NKJV

"Come near to me," Elijah spoke to them. (What Jezebel had broken down, Elijah was repairing for use.) Elijah wanted them to see what the altar looked like. He also showed them how to prepare it.

Elijah repaired the altar that was broken down. And Elijah went through every step of placing 12 stones according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob. The prophet was echoing what God had said before: "Israel shall be your name." Meaning you shall be of unity serving one God!(Genesis 35:10)
The altar was built in the name of the LORD. Was not built according to any false thing, god, or idols.
The meat was placed on the wood, the trench dug held 2 seahs of seed. Now that is about 1 and 1/2 pecks of seed. And then water was added four times. ( 4 represents the divine of YHWH: meaning Yahweh)
Then Elijah spoke: "LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known this day that You are God in Israel and I am Your servant, and that I have done all these things at Your word. 37 Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that You are the LORD God, and that You have turned their hearts back to You again."

Fire fell! The sacrifice, the seed, the water, stones and even some dust was gone. The fire consumed it! Pleasing God is about what is right in His eyes. When serving the things that are created things, we certainly are not the pleasing, and just shouting, dancing around and exhibiting any thing like cutting is wrong, dangerous, and can harm or kill.
God's plan is all to be unity under His rule, by His Word, His commandments. Elijah prophesied in this prayer, this communication that the LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel was the God IN ISRAEL. Elijah went on to say I am Your servant, and I have done all these things at Your Word. Hear me, O LORD, that this people may know that You are the LORD God, and that You have turned their hearts back to You again.
Well, if I had seen that I would have turned immediately. I mean, we are seriously talking about fire and it's power. Remember that there was already wood in that place and he rebuilt from that wood on that site. That wood would represent the quality of the sacrifice to God. If the wood was already there then it had been used before and was used that day to obey God. Are we living for God? Is our faith that which directs our trust is in Him? To live for God is to have the faith that is believing and relying on His Word and that it will not return to Him void.

 Romans 12:1-2
12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
NKJV

We are to offer our bodies in sacrifice, to not be conformed to the world but be transformed in our minds to know and prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Recognizing truth is paramount. There is no crawling off the altar. It is involves our time, our money, our hearts, our talents and our praise. There will be pressure and no doubt Elijah had to had some kind of pressure bearing down on him. But what will we sound like when pressure comes?
Now Elijah went above and beyond with that to prepare the sacrifice.......and the adding of water, but his trust was in God and for God's glory. Is what we do today in these living bodies a sacrifice to God in that we "just obey" and with no complaint? Just a question now!

When we build things for God based on speaking His Word and prophesying it over our kids, grand-kids, our jobs, our family, our health, our finances, we see God answer that is truth. It is also about being the Good Samaritan who looks to the need of those who are the beaten, the wounded, to those who have been stripped of their dignity (our neighbors).
God demonstrated that we are to give as He gave. He gave us His best, should we not do the same? Not with that which speaks as of the world, is of the flesh, but that which is of a compassionate heart that puts their trust in one God and expects the fire to fall from heaven. Remember the man who lives in Argentina is your brother, and the woman at the Mercantile is your neighbor as well!

When we see what happens next from this event on Mt. Carmel, we see how Elijah prayed for rain. He worshiped God at the altar and moved over to prayer and in that we see the power of the Holy Spirit. It was a place of famine and Elijah prophesied and prayed for unity in the land of Israel, with one God. And he prayed that the hearts of the people would be turned immediately back to the LORD God. Elijah prepared the table of the Lord (the altar) of sacrifice, and prayed. The table of the Lord was of righteousness. Elijah went one on one against that which is unholy to remain the holy before God, to be the one standing in the gap through prayer for those lost in lust, and worship of idols. Those doing empty things but think they are really having a great time.

Those people seeking after the false got no voice, no answer, and no one paid attention! When one sows toward evil, they get evil in return. When we sow towards peace and justice that is of God we get what we ask for in praying. It is that which every living person lives out their purpose for which God planned. It is not about the color, the age or even how smart, but how everyone can be of one unity in God. Today we see famine when it comes to the loss of youth and teens to the streets of America. Today we see famine where the young reside in gangs and not within homes with a loving father and mother to care for them. Today we see famine in those young girls who are of more value for what their bodies look like than for what God placed in their minds. For God certainly placed great minds in our youth to think and create, in our young men and women to become those working citizens who will not bow to greed and the power game of the competitive, but embracing that which is mercy and good for all those who are around them. And for the mature of age, we have the opportunity to continue to pray, encourage the young, and bless God for giving us a great family of people that God considers as His own.
When we pray to the living God and seek His Word, worship in giving thanks and singing His praises, we are prophesying there will be no famine in our land. When we stand for righteousness, and are obedient to the Lord's call in the hour of need, will we be the one to pray? Will we go to the altar of God and give our best of what we have in our hearts to pray and see America turn, to see our community turn toward God? Will we bring glory to God in this hour?
May we speak with one voice that we are united under God, and get the answer when we pray so others will see and know that we have been with Jesus!
May America be what she was intended to be.............a place of freedom to worship God!

THAT PROPHETIC WORD!

WHAT captures our attention? When God speaks, especially in that prophetic Word, it is one that may delight us, may cause us to remember that the "natural" has to line up with the supernatural of God's Word, can warn us, and sometimes bring shock.

They say there are a lot of prophecies the last several months concerning disasters, some economic downturns, but our focus is on what the Lord is speaking. Especially in this the Jewish Year of 5774. I heard a lot about those whose objective is seeing this whole world running towards Armageddon and how the world was coming to an end. Oh my, where did they get all that. Recently I wrote on the orphan and that mentality.

Excerpt from the .....blog......: Orphan: That One Who Can Finish Strong!

Many people today are voicing loudly their life of the desolate. Many have not seen the example of a "figure" to lead them with wisdom. Many today have been led by maybe a sibling or friend and most have been taken far from the place of being nurtured in love, but brought up in neglect, or left as in abandonment, and in deprivation of anything to sustain them to life. Love never enters the arena where they reside. These are they who are usually used in some way for another's gain.

These are the "orphans"!
This has come on my heart to write in the last few days. I was never left an orphan, but I met many who had been left to their own devices. I met many who had to fend for themselves, and I saw the mistakes they made by trying to be "grown up" when there was still so much of a child inside. One young lady who had failed a couple of years in school, desired to quit school and marry. I remember watching this game being played at our school one afternoon. It was a basketball practice being held outside and I remember sitting next to this young teen. Although she was some three years older than me, I liked her gentle spirit. She loved to talk and so did I.  I was in Jr. High and liked being that age and being in school.I loved "homework"!  But this one talked how she wanted to be married and take care of a home. I wondered, "does someone really like cleaning house and cooking food"? Remember I was in Jr. High.

I believe too many are afraid to face the future. I hear those "words" going out ..........and I always think of Chicken Little.......you know......" the sky is falling" mentality. I know what the Lord has shown me and it is not to fear the future. Our Father has a future for us..............those who believe............for there is no lack in God's kingdom.
Again, thinking on the young lady...........I wonder who steered her towards marrying at such a young age. I wonder who told her how great it was to "clean house". I knew for myself, that my parents desired me to get an education. They were not seeking to having me to be married off at sixteen.

There is a harvest coming...of many souls for the kingdom............and there must be finances to bring that harvest in............not by hiding out in bunkers or those buildings put up for family only............hording dried food, and water, but giving now.........reaching out to others now..........for IF everyone got in their bunkers, hid out............and kept as much for themselves, then who would want to hear about Jesus? Who would want to come to a kingdom where Chicken Little rules? I would not want a place like that.

I know what I have been taught, and I know what the Father speaks............I know without a doubt that there is a real coming time to have supplies on hand for those sudden emergencies not expected, and we are to be obedient to ready ourselves to do that as the Lord has shown or directed us to do. WE certainly have supplies on hand for the Cascadia Event! (anyone living in the area of the Cascadia Subduction zone should know what preparation they should undertake for a sudden impact to this region) The warning for that has been going on now for almost two years!

We have also watched those informational news programs given by those who study these kind of earthquakes and how far they will reach inland. Have you? Also, we have learned what the area west of I-5 will look like after a cataclysmic Cascadia Subduction Zone quake will look like or where it will be located after the event!
But also being prepared is knowing that we are not left to our own devices. We surely need His wisdom on this, do we not?  God has given us His Word to direct us to a future that hope resides.  I know there are many today say they spend time in the Word and researching and the such.......but I see them more like those groping in darkness for any hint of light. The world can certainly bring the most unexpected things on the scene, but we do not have to receive them. We are suppose to be those who are just passing through to our home in heaven. We are to be those who take the truth of God and believe it. His powerful words are to be set up in our hearts where victory comes from. If we stay in the doom and gloom, then why get up in the morning, and why try to clothe yourself?
But God has bestowed on us the family name. He has given us the righteous garments. And we are the empowered:

Daniel 11:32
32 Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.  NKJV

Those who know their God will be the strong and carry out great exploits.
Doing those exploits is cultivating that relationship with Him.
Getting to know someone new, we take time to meet with them........speaking to them and they to us!
We know Him by observing how He does things. We notice when He is quiet and when He has a lot to say to us!
We become the strong when we become confident in what He is showing us by His Word and what He speaks.
We become those like our daughter who could take a group of teens to the Panamanian Jungle in 2000.
In the scripture below we find a prophet who spoke about a great famine throughout the world.
Acts 11:28
28 Then one of them, named Agabus, stood up and showed by the Spirit that there was going to be a great famine throughout all the world, which also happened in the days of Claudius Caesar.  NKJV

We can see famine coming.......we see the months with little or no rain. But our hope is for the Northwest to be rainy all nine months! Those who live in the Northwest are the expectant that Fall, Winter and Spring will be rainy, wet-filled days, little wind, and see no famine ever.
Prophetic words can come. They come in the form of warnings, in the form of knowledge concerning people, places or things or come as what is in the mind and will of God.
In looking at Acts 11, we also see Agabus giving a personal prophecy to Paul. He did not tell Paul to go to Jerusalem, but he simply showed Paul what would happen to him there.

Those prophetic words need to be kept where we can see them and remind ourselves God gave us His heart on them. When they are from Him, they will come to pass when we expect them, when we keep watching, keep seeking, although some can be delayed at times, but we check ourselves to see why they are being delayed. And that prophetic word will confirm what God is saying to your own spirit man.

Always remember to put God's Word first and foremost. Being confident in what God is saying at this moment is something to be treasured, and is important as a family member of God. What God is speaking to us is important for others to know. That Word will build us up and not tear down. Any tearing down is done by the Holy Spirit and He will do it in a gentle way. But we also must ask Him to be here to guide us and to direct us into and through circumstances we do not expect.

As we saw in Jesus' ministry, we know that the modern day prophets prepare a people for the Lord by pointing to that intimate relationship with HIM! Please see John 3:29. Jesus pointed  out in His ministry that those who spoke by lies were of their father the devil,

John 8:42-47
42 Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and now am here. I have not come on my own; but he sent me. 43 Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. 44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. 45 Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me! 46 Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don't you believe me? 47 He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God."   NIV

Jesus told us in John 8....that those of God would love Jesus. He also spoke of the language He spoke and asked them why was it not clear to them!  For Jesus nailed it when He said, "you belong to your father, the devil and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth  in him."
He even asked if they could find HIM guilty of sin. Then the most astounding thing He spoke: "He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God."
So Jesus was equipping those to discern God's voice.

Like we have talked about and seen...........those of the cursed tree will ultimately wither and die. That of the living tree will produce fruit. Pay attention, watch the signs, and do not fly off like Chicken Little, but keep your composure as your peace will be in God and NOT in this world's economy. May God bless the works of your hands for His kingdom.

TOMORROW'S CIRCUMSTANCES

Many years ago, now probably two decades ago, I had this dream. I knew it was of the Lord. I went up into this tower, although not terribly high in the sky. But it was high above the city we lived and was next to the Sound. And as I had walked into this almost round like room at the top, I saw this area that was circular right in the middle. It was a workstation. On it was all the drawings and important information regarding all my tomorrow's. I was led to look out the window and watch the water that makes up the Sound and from time to time to watch the sun move from early morning into the late evening. As I looked toward the circular table again, I saw three beings working: Father, Son and Holy Spirit!
Yes, I knew I was in great hands.
All of our tomorrow's will come. Those circumstances will certainly appear, but how we handle them determines all other tomorrow's.
Since my dream, I have understood it to mean, that all that is secret in the Sound, God knows, and that we can dive deep in that understanding of He Who is and what He desires when we dwell in His Word. And all that the sun shines on, God knows that too! He created it all. With His hand on it all, I know that He can watch over me. And He has the Drawing Room to do it in as I have been there to see it myself!

Philippians 4:8-9
8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things. 9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.
NKJV

What happens in our mind will certainly happen in time! We are to keep watch on what we think about for too long. Surely the Word should be the most important thing. But as individuals, we have a spouse, maybe a child or two, maybe a job, or even ministry. Yet in all these, we are as those individuals to keep watch on what we think on.
MEDITATE ON THESE THINGS:
things that are true....like God's Word, remembering God's righteousness, eternal truth. as God speaks and delivers to us His thoughts and plans
being people of justice and integrity ( will have nothing do with lying)

things that are noble.....being noble in character, giving their word that they will do it,

things that are just....knowing God is justice and righteousness and every one of His commands is right

things that are pure......anything we act out in our body should be in the pure state and nothing to defile it. That means even the mouth is to have a guard on it!

things that are lovely........speaking wisdom of God to others, that which is useful. Holding ourselves in a respectful way and being considerate of others in conduct or conversation

things that are of a good report.....cheerful, leading others to the goodness of God and all that He has is good. Reminding others of is faithfulness toward us, His giving of Jesus for our sins. We should be telling it everywhere we go!

there be any virtue......being strong, a person of valor, courageous from the inside out, like the worker bee. I think of the virtuous woman from the Bible.
Taken from an earlier blog I wrote on Humility and Honor Equals Courage in Your Heart, September 10, 2014.............I love the scriptures of the virtuous wife. It tells she girds herself with strength and strengthens her arms. She looks to keep fit and looks out for her household, but she also extends her hands to the poor. She is not afraid of any kind of weather, she is on the go and so is her family. They keep their pace for the kingdom of God. Her husband is known in the city gates. He works with his hands  and is known as the business leader. As he sits among the doers in the community, it tells that she gains strength and honor. For as she honors her husband and takes care of her family, people will know who she is as she speaks wisdom and her tongue with kindness. She is never idle for she keeps watch over the food supplies, the clothes that need to be washed, the dry cleaning taken to the cleaners, and the job that has to be done. It says her lamp does not go out, and I think of how busy she is, but also think she is aware of the IMPORTANCE OF Prayer and word that must be spoken over her husband, her family and the new day coming! But in all this, we are told as she watches over her household, her children and her husband bless her, they praise her for what she does for them. In the end, she has done well, a woman who fears the LORD, is praised! And it is God who will give her the fruit of her hands and her own works will praise her in the gates.

A person who carries this courage and strength that is seen will cause praise to come. It will come to me and to you when we follow hard after seeing to others needs. Love that will never murmur but does something. It fulfills a job to be done. It will be done without being told to do it and the work will be done quickly and possibly in secret most of the time when no one is looking. It is this kind of serving others in the excellence as Jesus did and that which is given in an amount that is noticeable, it is by words of kindness and sometimes by correction and always by action!

Lastly, think on these things...........give attention to, set them into practice everyday. And do them being determined, faithful, persistent, adventurous, being cheerful, happy, and sincere.
When we practice these things, the peace of God will be with us. Do we not need His peace everyday?

Matthew 6:30-34
O you of little faith? 31 Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32 "For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. NKJV

We are not to worry about tomorrow and in all circumstances, you know all those speed bumps that seem to slow us down, but when we rely on God, meditate on all His good, we remain in peace, that peace of God that passes all understanding. We stand strong, whether man, woman or child, being led by God is the greatest plan of redemption and a life of adventure. I want to be in His plan, how about you?

Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
3 Give us day by day our daily bread.
4 And forgive us our sins,
For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us.
And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one."   (Luke 11:2-4)

Feeding on Foolishness

FOOLS MUST BE DEALT WITH DIFFERENTLY THAN THOSE WHO ARE WISE. We cannot deal with all men in the same way. Our response to people must be ...
