Are We Tuned into ABUNDANCE?

1 Kings 18:41-46  NKJV……41 Then Elijah said to Ahab, "Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain." 42 So Ahab went up to eat and drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; then he bowed down on the ground, and put his face between his knees, 43 and said to his servant, "Go up now, look toward the sea." So he went up and looked, and said, "There is nothing." And seven times he said, "Go again." 44 Then it came to pass the seventh time, that he said, "There is a cloud, as small as a man's hand, rising out of the sea!" So he said, "Go up, say to Ahab, 'Prepare your chariot, and go down before the rain stops you.' " 45 Now it happened in the meantime that the sky became black with clouds and wind, and there was a heavy rain. So Ahab rode away and went to Jezreel. 46 Then the hand of the LORD came upon Elijah; and he girded up his loins and ran ahead of Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.

Are we tuned into Abundance? God is the God of Abundance! Elijah spoke: I hear the sound of the abundance of rain: So our ears are to hear God's heart.....GOD’S SPIRIT TO MY SPIRIT MAN.……Sound = vibrations……. my SPIRITUAL ear has picked up the vibration of something that is coming. The "something" from God is on its way to me! I can't see it, I can't touch it, I CANNOT feel it…….. but IT IS on the way!

Sound always indicates something: it can be good or it can be bad, but something of sound is occurring! When 120 men and women had gathered in the upper room waiting for the promised power, the Bible says: Suddenly there came a sound from heaven like a mighty rushing wind and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

There was a sound: The sound was an indication (Something is coming).
Suddenly cloven tongues as fire appeared on each of them and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.

These men and women came together in prayer. They came with one thought to receive the Promise!

I hear the sound of an abundance of rain: Elijah spoke in a place and a time where there had not been rain for sometime because famine had been present in the land for some 31/2 years.

What did that mean ? (Rain) as being the river of God meant for Israel: new life, restoration, the rivers will run again, fish will be caught again, the crops will grow again, there will be gladness and joy that will have  replaced sorrow, there will be laughter where there has been weeping.

Psalm 65:9-13……..9 You visit the earth and water it,

You greatly enrich it; The river of God is full of water;

You provide their grain, For so You have prepared it.

10 You water its ridges abundantly, You settle its furrows;

You make it soft with showers, You bless its growth.

11 You crown the year with Your goodness, And Your paths drip with abundance.

12 They drop on the pastures of the wilderness, And the little hills rejoice on every side.

13 The pastures are clothed with flocks; The valleys also are covered with grain;

They shout for joy, they also sing. NKJV

Prayer is communication where God is present in His word and as we communicate with Him. And it is God WHO desires us to prophesy and say to the dry bones, get ready, Rain is on the Way!  RAIN IS ON ITS WAY…….. God’s answer is on the WAY!

We STAND! We look and are expectant. It is not giving up, but it is praying in giving thanks for the answer is coming. The fire burns brightly, giving away to a new strength to continue in the Lord!

The more You and I spend with God, the more we will hear Him speak. Even in the midst of chaos, in the time of a bad report, the Lord still speaks. There are days I can walk outside and I sense change. It is there in the atmosphere! I cannot see it, I cannot hear it, but there is a sound of change in the atmosphere.

So God tells Elijah in a sound, abundance of rain. IT IS A DOWNPOUR………….. GOD IS PROCLAIMING IT IN THE SPIRIT REALM…………IT IS ONLY PICKED UP IN THE SPIRIT REALM………in 1 John 5:3-4…..we are told this: 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. 4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith. NKJV

Our faith, our trust in the Lord, and hearing HIM declare that there will be rivers in the wilderness……..….. Isaiah 43:19-21…19 Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.  20 The beast of the field will honor Me, The jackals and the ostriches, Because I give waters in the wilderness And rivers in the desert, To give drink to My people, My chosen. 21 This people I have formed for Myself; They shall declare My praise. (NKJV)

When we trust the Lord and are expectant, we can know in our spirit man that we have changed, we have grown, and not trusting in the flesh creature anymore. Our spirit man is in the ascendancy to receive what the Lord speaks and to declare to our body, the five senses, get ready for abundance is on its way.

When we really start to hear Him, we move from Hindered Street to Power Boulevard and the atmosphere is changing.I declare His Word of abundance over me and my family and move to more than enough Avenue!

Like Elijah, we can see the result of answered prayer.

We can see God turn things around for our good!

The rain was on the way but there was work to be done: Ahab went to play and Elijah went to pray.

E.M. Bounds, one of the greatest men of prayer that ever lived said: “God does nothing except in answer to prayer.”
So if things seem to be stagnating around us and nothing appears to be moving then we should be looking at our Prayer life. When we have no prayer, we have no life! If you have no prayer life then you have no power in your life!

John Wesley was quoted as saying, “Prayer is where the action is."

"We have to pray with our eyes on God, not on the difficulties." Oswald Chambers

"Prayer is not learned in a classroom but in the closet."  E. M. Bounds

Before interceding in prayer, we must find the quiet place to worship God. We are to have the thankful heart.  Think of what He can do, and how He delights to hear the prayers of His redeemed people. If we truly are the Redeemed, then we must let God know how thankful we are to be HIS REDEEMED! Psalm 107:1-3 NKJV…….Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. 2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy, 3 And gathered out of the lands, From the east and from the west, From the north and from the south.

As Elijah, when God gives us the sound of something coming………whether it is change either spiritually, physically or financially, we keep our eyes on Jesus. Thanking the Lord for you heard the sound and you begin to prophesy to the walls.

We cannot look at the circumstances surrounding us. The servant returned with an answer……….. I’m looking but I don’t see any evidence of an answer to your prayer.
But Elijah just keeps on praying, he sends his servant back to the sea and while the servant is running Elijah is praying.

There are times that we must continue to pray. In prayer, we continue to look at the Word and not the circumstance……EVEN …..when a word from God in our spirit has come, we keep on praying. We hold in our heart: the sound of abundance of rain.

We should never stop if the answer does not come right away! We are to continue our worship to God, and keep expecting. For every moment we move aside to the secret place and pray, we put pressure in the spirit man to hear God completely, with no noise, only the sound of His voice speaking.

What am I expecting? What are you expecting? What do you require? God gave me a sound…………..I heard it……….I keep praying, keep seeking, I keep knocking and believing I will see what I heard in the spirit. I give thanks for a "hearing ear" to hear Him speak to me!

It is on the 7th return to Elijah that the servant speaks……..”  Behold there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea.”  He heard the sound in the spirit and then a Rhema word came………
A Rhema word: A specific word, for a specific purpose, for a specific time.
There’s something about faith that lets you see the greatness in little things:

Faith can see:  mass destruction in the jawbone of an ass ( Judges 15:16-17), a small child’s lunch feed 5000 men ( Mark 6: 30-44), or a king in small ruddy-faced young boy who shepherds sheep ( David: 1 Samuel 16: 1-13).

Elijah prayed and the servant saw……..he saw the cloud the size of a man’s hand………….but Elijah remembered the sound……….it was a gully washer coming, it was going to be the rainstorm of rainstorms to end drought and to fill rivers to overflowing capacity.

I don’t care how big the problem may seem to you, or how long it has existed: The promises of God come in concentrated form and one little word from God will set you free, and will "destroy" that thing forever.
Jesus said: All it takes is faith like the size of a mustard seed and you can command mountains to jump into the sea and they will have to go.

Jesus told us in Luke 17 of faith……….. Luke 17:6………….6 So the Lord said, "If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,' and it would obey you. NKJV

Elijah got off his knees and told Ahab: It’s here, The rain is here, If you don’t get that chariot rolling you aren’t getting off this mountain.

And while Elijah was prophesying, the wind blew, and the clouds turned black and the rain came. It was Elijah who heard it with his spirit man, prophesied it with his mouth and saw it with his eyes.
And then Elijah out ran a king in a chariot and horse to get to the city where the queen was waiting.

How did Elijah do that? How could he outrun a chariot drawn by a fast horse in the mud? Prayer helped him! That which he prayed for the nation would also come to him. Seeds sown for the good of another came to Elijah. Elijah had a relationship with God. And it was God who broaden the path under Elijah.

Behaving under pressure is revealed by how we behave in everyday life when a "suddenly" appears. Because a "suddenly" can bring extra pressure to you, your well-being and your check book or savings account!

Prayer picks fights! Prayer seeks God and His presence. Prayer seeks that which belongs to God. Prayer helps us to guard truth! It is carrying the right name of Jesus as our treasure which is above silver and gold! Prayer in us and through us will set up the word which has free course to be free running through our lives that is of His justice, His peace, His strength, His power and His love.

Prayer is submitting to God and resisting the devil: James 4:7-8 NKJV Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinner; and purify your hearts you double-minded. Choosing prayer in the time of prayer for Elijah was choosing to draw near to God to hear Him and to receive rain! Faith is not accidental. Faith is a like a bull dog holding onto the edge of someone's coat with teeth showing and with no outward appearance of letting go of that coat edge. It is being determined to hear God, being determined to embrace God's life and renounce the enemies lies.

Prayer is knowing God and being known by Him! And the opposite will appear, that those who pray will be known they just came from God and He God knows them well because they speak with a bold response of a believer by faith in Him.

Today, you and I have the Holy Spirit. May He the Holy Spirit magnify the ability in prayer through us. May we forget the past and regard today that is alive unto God where His counsel to us is wisdom and revelation through Christ Jesus. May our eyes be opened and our ears to hear what the Lord will speak. For by the Spirit of Grace, we are directed into a spiritual life where abundance is seen and received in the physical. It is that place where we give thanks as we walk into that abundance place that it our inheritance.

Are you ready to pick a fight? Are you ready to see abundance come? Make sure you are kneeling for the "right thing" for it is found only in God and in Him alone. Amen!

GAME ON!

In the pandemonium of 2020, are our eyes open to God, or to the world and it's games? Do we lament the sin of the world or sing in sin with the world? The President of these United States worked on a peace treaty for Israel. In the process of time, all parties that have been meeting with the president of the U. S. as well as Israel's leader plus those ready to be at peace in the Middle East have come to a mutual agreement and signed that agreement. Even the President is up for the Nobel Peace Prize, yet there is no one writing nor speaking about it today!

What this signifies is the earth's last empire: the final game of thrones! We know that once a peace agreement is in place, there will be some 3 and 1/2 years of peace till one anti-christ from Babylon will want to take his seat as leader of the world.

In Ezekiel the Holy Spirit is active and authority is there to relay without a doubt that which will involve, not only Israel but the entire world!

What I love about Ezekiel is that he had to be ready as the watchman to  warn others!

Ezekiel 3:8-21 NKJV 8 "Behold I have made your face strong against their faces, and your forehead strong against their foreheads. 9 Like adamant stone, harder than flint, I have made your forehead; do not be afraid of them, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they are a rebellious house." 10 Moreover He said to me: "Son of man, receive into your heart all My words that I speak to you, and hear with your ears. 11"And go, get to the captives, to the children of your people, and speak to them and tell them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD,' whether they hear or whether they refuse." 12 Then the Spirit lifted me up and I heard behind me a great thunderous voice; "Blessed is the glory of the LORD from His place!"

So Ezekiel is told his forehead is now hard like adamant stone harder than flint to repel that from a rebellious speaking and acting people. He is told of a people rebellious who will not hear.

Ezekiel 3:16 Now it came to pass at the end of seven days that the word of the LORD came to me, saying,  17 "Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore hear a word from My mouth, and give them warning from Me:  18 When I say to the wicked, "You shall surely die," & you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life, that same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand.  19 Yet, if you warn the wicked, & he does not turn from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul. 20 "Again, when a righteous man turns from his righteousness & commits iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die; because you did not give him warning, he shall die in his sin, & his righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; but his blood I will require at your hand. 21 Nevertheless if you warn the righteous man that the righteous should not sin, & he does not sin, he shall surely live because he took warning; also you will have delivered your soul."

The rest of the chapter relates that Ezekiel himself will be a sign through the means of being struck dumb. The only words that he could speak were what God gave him to say by His Holy Spirit. This was how the people would know that God was speaking through the Prophet! This also shows that the servant of God is a watchman sent to warn the people. What God dwells on is sin; the prophet is to warn them of their sins. In the reading there is  an element of warning to them of what is coming, but this warning message also has a personal and individual aspect to it. It is not just telling the world, that  the Tribulation is coming but it also relates of the coming of Jesus Christ!

There is the part of "show My people their sins"  that in effect, the prophet Ezekiel is speaking by saying .........."Look here, you perverts. What you are doing is way out of line and is not the way it should be! This is the way God has said for righteous behavior. You should change. Repent now!"

Yes, the prophet Ezekiel was supposed to deal with the bitterness, the anger, and the astonishment that had been building inside him for the seven days. God tells him, "This is how you channel that attitude and those emotions within you. This is how you act in a godly manner: You preach a warning message, as a watchman."

It is like right now all around the world people are talking, and even screaming about global warming! And in truth, there is no warming, but  s that of the earth readying itself to receive the Lord of Glory, the consuming fire ....for the earth will worship Jesus whether we do or not! Those stones will cry out with praise when man sits alone trying to figure out what is going on with the earth and with people who speak with a un-intelligible speaking. Those rocks will give heave to make a land slide, those fire driven volcanoes will belch out more and more molten lava to give praise to God Almighty! And do we give any voice to the same amount of praise and expect to fire for HIM in these last days?

Ezekiel was coming into conflict with the people. No doubt, people were going to have some attitude. And certainly people do not want to hear such messages of warning. They are not interested in  hearing where things are going from bad to worse and especially finding when they are the personally responsible party.

Yes, being a watchman on the wall is a message only the watchman himself will give to the people. And in that message, he too will have to channel the things like anger, bitterness, and astonishment that builds within as he who prays for people outside of their own family! You cannot of the world pray for the world, but outside of the world, you pray for sin to be seen in men's eyes where their hearts are pricked and they have a willingness to hear God speak! As the watchman you cannot make people listen, so anger can build. But channeled toward God in praise, we become like those volcanoes that light up the night and the darkness in the world.

Yes, there is a Game on within the world. What country and what leader will take the lead role? All is up for grab! Everyone desires to be number 1! For those who choose to lie their way around situations, creating pandemonium in the streets with a single agenda on their heart and then they  sneek through passages in secret meetings and speak things that changes nothing but still brings destruction like we see today in certain large cities of the U. S. have we the lamenting spirit?

Each individual on this earth has a responsibility and especially if they have heard the word of God. Repentance must come in each of us for society to change. I remember how people came for awhile when the Twin Towers in New York were hit September 11, 2001! Yes, some people came for about two weeks, asked for prayer and when the smoke cleared and the ash was removed, the people went back to living their lives as they saw fit!

What stands out, yes what is even more astonishing, is that what the prophet Ezekiel will speak will fall on deaf ears. So he must have a forehead like flint. He is the undaunted, the courageous spirit to keep repeating the same message until he dies! Are we willing to give that message? For all things are coming to a head this year and if we do not turn and repent to see God and His purpose for our lives....then kiss it good-bye! We have much to look forward to in the new year of 2021. But people are choosing to ignore what is going on in the world today. They desire to have like it was in those good days before Covid-19!

Ezekiel 14 :1-23 Now some of the elders of Israel came to me and sat before me. 2 And the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 3 "Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their hearts, and put before them that which causes them to stumble into iniquity. Should I let Myself be inquired of it at all by them? 4 Therefore speak to them, and say to them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD: "Everyone of the house of Israel who sets up his idols in his heart, and puts before him what cause him to stumble into iniquity, and then comes to the prophet, I the LORD will answer him who comes, according to the multitude of his idols, 5" that I may seize the house of Israel by their heart, because they are all estranged from Me by their idols." 6 "therefore say to the house of Israel, ' Thus says the Lord GOD: "Repent, turn away from your idols and turn your faces away from all your abominations.

Ezekiel 14:7 "For anyone of the house of Israel or of the strangers who dwell in Israel, who separates himself from Me and sets up his idols in his heart and puts before him what causes him to stumble into iniquity, then comes to a prophet to inquire of him concerning Me, I the LORD will answer him by Myself. 8 "I will set My face against that man and make him a sign and a proverb and I will cut him off from the midst of My people. Then you shall know that I am the LORD." 9 " And if the prophet is induced to speak anything, I the LORD have induced that prophet and I will stretch out My hand against him and destroy him from among my people Israel. 10  "And they shall bear their iniquity; the punishment of the prophet shall be the same as the punishment of the one who inquired, 11" that the house of Israel may no longer stray from Me, nor be profaned anymore with all their transgressions, but that they may be My people and I may be their God, says the Lord GOD."

Ezekiel 14:12 The word of the LORD came again to me, saying: 13 "Son of man, when a land sins against Me by persistent unfaithfulness, I will stretch out My hand against it; I will cut off its supply of bread, send famine on it and cut off man and beast from it. 14 Even if these three men, Noah, Daniel and Job, were in it, they would deliver only themselves by their righteousness," says the Lord GOD. 15 "If I cause wild beasts to pass through the land, and they empty it and make it so desolate that no man may pass through because of the beasts, 16 " even though these three men were in it, as I live," says the Lord God, "they would deliver neither sons nor daughters; only they would be delivered, and the land would be desolate. 17 "Or if I bring a sword on that land and say, 'Sword go through the land' and I cut off man and beast from  it, 18 "even though these three men were in it, as I live," says the Lord God, 'They would deliver neither sons nor daughters, but only they themselves would be delivered.

Ezekiel 14:19 "Or if I send a pestilence into that land and pour out My fury on it in the blood and cut off from it man and beast, 20 "even though Noah, Daniel and Job were in it, as I live" says the Lord GOD, "They would deliver neither son nor daughter; they would deliver only themselves by their righteousness."

Ezekiel 14:21 For thus says the Lord GOD: "How much more it shall be when I send My four judgments on Jerusalem -----the sword and famine and wild beasts and pestilence---to cut off man and beast from it? 22 "Yet behold, there shall be left in it a remnant who will be brought out, both sons and daughters; surely they will come out to you and you will see their ways and their doings. Then you will be comforted concerning the disaster that I have brought upon Jerusalem, all that I have brought upon it. 23 " And they will comfort you, when you see their ways and their doings, and you shall know that I have done nothing without cause that I have done it," says the Lord GOD.

God's answer and judgment against those who worship idols was for their good so that His people might not continue to be far from Him. Idols causes man to be alienated from God! In In Romans 1:18-32 in the New Testament reminds us that God the Lord will eventually abandon people to their corrupt passions. The Lord GOD would send false prophets to tell them what they wanted to hear rather than what they needed to hear. So if God would do that to Jerusalem, would He not also do that to the church? Would not God want men to be about God's business and know Him as God?

Noah, Daniel and Job were righteous men. They were known as those with a righteous behavior in the midst of a corruption in a generation. The only way they prevailed in those corrupted times was because of their righteousness. What each man held in that moral responsibility, they held to themselves and it could not be transferred to any other people including their children.

S   Sword, plague, famine and even dangerous animals are named among that which brings punishment to a people.  The sword is war; and we can see a civil war today that resembles what was going on like back in the day of our president Abraham Lincoln. There has been famine in some regions where crops failed and even a plague appeared, but God did not sent it, but He certainly allowed it!

These men of Israel came to the prophet to know what God was speaking, but in their inquiry they held to their idols. And God revealed this to the prophet Ezekiel.  It was then God who would answer them according to their idol enthroned on their heart. For in that the lying prophets will give the people exactly what they want to hear and in what they desire to live will certainly appear as a doom most certain for that group of people!

There are people praying even now for nations around this world. There are people praying for the country of which I and my family reside. I cannot speak about other states, but I certainly hear the reports out of New York as a city now dead, where people have abandoned it to live in other states and where people who do continue to live there have no money to leave and are being killed by the violence of others with no value for life. Yes, our hearts should be set for God and not idols. We should be about praising Him and glorifying His awesome deeds for the miraculous occurred in salvation to us! But there is sin in the world as Noah saw. A man of integrity and for his sake and his family were saved along with his wicked son Ham on the ARK.

Has the faithful become the harlot? Great wealth was spent on things such as those things of idols and rebellion was seen. Rebellion was seen in Ezekiel: chapter 2, 3, 12, 17 and 24. Israel, the rebellious house would fall given in chapters 1-24. Ezekiel was the watchman, the prophet to bring the warning message of what was coming toward them! Visions were given and actions are mentioned in detail. Yes parables of doom are presented in Ezekiel 15- Ezekiel 19, then there are the rebukes and the threats in chapter 20-22. News of the fall of the rebellious house in chapters 24 and chapter 25-32 presents other nations destroyed. Judgment was on the lips of the prophet till the news of the fall came. Then a message of hope appeared.

God has given us His Holy Spirit to stay connected, with new hearts and a new spirit to be the people God desires in being faithful to Him and to avoid any future judgment. TODAY, some are His sons and some are just those He created. They serve no real purpose but only in being themselves, serving themselves and are given to their own agendas. Holiness returns, and justice is seen in those who love God and serve Him with hearts set for Him.

Humans need quality leadership in important areas of life, or because of Satan's influence on the carnal mind, human community life tends to degenerate! And when it degenerates, it could like Mad Max and the Superdome kind of existence where it is only survival of the fittest, resulting in large numbers of people living as little more than slaves of those mightier than they are. For the majority, life in such a community becomes a hopeless existence like we are seeing in some cities of this nation even today!

It takes Godly leadership to lead and when it is in short supply as it was throughout most of Israel's relationship with God  and as the scriptural record chronicles that an occasional Noah, Abraham, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, David, or another good leader arose among them, but Ezekiel 34 succinctly summarizes Judah's leadership, in particular, as shepherds who ruled for their own well-being rather than the citizens'. Such leadership does not produce good results and it never will!

Our nation has been helped by one I know that was sent by God Himself for such a time as this! We pray for our President and believe God has His hand on him always. But for those of a different heart, set for their own agendas will see more pandemonium and decay with death. But that of God is to strengthen leadership where man is working, life is produced in being productive and it includes, not only the religious ministry, but also includes leadership in government, education, business, entertainment, and media, reaching all the way to parents in the family home, yes, children having an actual father and mother.

Game On! The Stakes are high, your life is called and where will we stand? Hopefully we are not standing with our heads stuck in sand, but aware and active to speak and believe for the better is here if we will only reach out and stand for that which is of God. We can receive it with hearts boldly proclaiming His goodness in the land of the living. I have read the book of Revelation and we win!

FAITH REVEALED

Had been reading some on the faith of those who lived before us like Jesus! The Hall of Faith found in Hebrews 11. You find Enoch who lived by faith and did not die. And he lived in a time much like we are living today! Found in that hall of faith is Abraham, called to come out of from his family who were rich in idol worship. He was called out of his ethnicity to live for God in the kingdom His Son would deliver. Patriarchs, Moses, Gideon, Barack and Samuel are listed. A harlot was listed in Rahab, who did not perish with those who did not believe, when she had received the spies with peace. Yes, Israel walked around Jericho for seven days and those walls came down and Rahab and her family survived because she believed truth given her by the men whom she hid from her neighbors and her culture!

And Jesus, whose faith was revealed in His speaking that His focus was on His Father and who would deliver Him in a resurrection for all to see. His faith was revealed in where it was placed!

Jesus knew who He was and where He was headed. John 13:3-5 NKJV Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that He had come from God and was going to God, 4 rose from supper and laid aside His garments, took a towel and girded Himself. 5 After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash, the disciple’s feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded.

Yes, that is a relationship of loving others and doing that which is honorable!

In an hour of destruction, when all you have done is confess the goodness of God in the land of the living, when you have praised the Lord, proclaimed His goodness and how His mercy endures, you turn yourself toward rest in the nighttime and close your eyes to that which growls in the night hours! You snuggle into the peace of God and reside in the safety of His strong arms!

Our trust is to be in the Lord and it certainly is tested when you live in an area where many people come to enjoy hikes, wind surfing, and even fishing! We see many people riding a variety of bikes from the ones requiring your own strength, to those 20 speeds up to those with “a little motorization” added. We have seen those with hover boards and blades going with the only focus of where to go next and how fast to get there! Although we often see that on I-84 as well: how fast can they get to where they are going! At times they leave the interstate to the two lane state highway and try to qualify for the Indy 500. Please be careful the two miles into our little village from the west for in that two mile area, you see people in a four cylinder car trying to out run an 8-cylinder vehicle coming from the opposite direction. Yeah, the 4-cylinder driver has made a state highway into a one way highway running west to the east not regarding those vehicles coming from our little village going west to the city!

You and I can find those things we enjoy to do. And then we remember of those who have not had an easy time through the last several months of a virus they say has killed the infirm, yet the numbers only reveal a seasonal flu. Yet are we not responsible for our own bodies. And should we not know of the serious things affecting our immune system, so that important steps are required to eat properly the right healthful foods, to take vitamins and minerals especially that vitamin D-3 and zinc. For certainly, we do take those things with the diet required for good optimum health. Our life is not to be bent toward “fear” nor are we to bring fear on others! Still we must have truth and not some fallacy someone is trying to lay into the laps of those people who should know their own bodies and how to proceed in maintaining that good health through any event of virus rampaging the countryside.

Was reading over scripture and I began to see some things in regard to those willing to jump and help others without a thought. Certainly there are many suffering in this hour, those without work, those choosing not to work but receive a check instead, and those too sick to work. But Jesus spoke that we would always have the poor with us.  And if we listen to a man and not God, and go into that thing of giving to certain people or groups, are we really doing it from the heart of one set for God and to give that thing needed or is it about others seeing us do something for others?

Proverbs 31:8-9  NKJV 8 Open your mouth for the speechless, In the cause of all who are appointed to die. 9 Open your mouth, judge righteously, And plead the cause of the poor and needy.

Here the word God has given us to see to the disadvantaged, but God also tells us to judge righteously. We do know of some people in the world who have great amounts of money and time on their hands. So within their thought process they become what one would call advocates for the various causes that seem to appear like dandelions in your yard in the spring time. But what are the consequences if supporting something or someone in the length of time which might appear as a good thing, but causes great difficulty down the road for many people.

One such teaching I had received recently had written on this very thing. That of which appears as good followed to the end would appear more like living in a socialist state. It is that place where no one is free!

Again, it was Jesus who spoke:  "The poor you will always have with you." So that being the case, the question then becomes, "How best can we help them?"

Certainly the Lord checks our fruit as He inspects our hearts speaking. He regards what we do with our life each day. Fruit appearing is a righteous person growing in the image of the Father. So feeding others or clothing them is a good thing, but the long term should be doing that in regard to the Cross where Jesus took our place, and in  regard to that faith that is required to live and as we do, we should be about telling others of this faith walk in Christ Jesus. We should not become "Jesus" to them where their dependence is on us!

If we remember that of Martha and Mary, it was Jesus who said to Martha: "Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things, but one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her. In Luke 10:38-42, Jesus’  teaching point is that when service and good works become a distraction and a worry, crowding out the higher duties of listening to Him, thus we enter a danger. Good works we want to do for our lives have changed for the good. But ours is not to take over other’s lives to change them for them.  Those great fruits are wonderful but they cannot them nor can they save us!

Ephesians 2:8-10 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

We can see that when we operate in the word of God that is truth, we become a poem that is of God. We are His work, to produce Him on earth. But it is having faith in Jesus that we are saved as we see in verse 8 of Ephesians 2!

Galatians 3:22 But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.

You could look at it like this: if you hold a person in their condition by continuing to give to their need, they might respond by not making any moves forward or toward living with responsibility to actually live, by getting a job or doing anything productive to change the existing position they are in bondage to at the moment. They would also include any health issues they might have currently. Inviting someone to take a walk with you but would be better than buying them a box of chocolates that only adds more weight to their overweight condition!

Certainly the two brothers who bombed the Boston Marathon lived in Boston within a nice expensive home. Filled with several members of their family, they all sought after a monthly check where they all brought in together some fourteen thousand a month to live. They did not change their mindset that was bent toward destruction as terrorists! As most, they sought how to get money without doing anything to earn it and still do their desired thing of the heart! That was to kill and destroy!

Faith revealed is seen in what we have placed our hope. If our hope lies in Jesus Christ, we watch for His return. We listen intently with an ear that expects a sound, a good one, where we are taken away to be with Him forever. Faith does not speak when I am helping another although it reveals ones heart for the person’s need. It reveals a loving person for another. Faith must be present to speak out in a boldness for God especially in the face of persecution, any hostility or sickness. When assisting others, it must point back to God and not us!

John 1:15 Jesus spoke this: John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, He who comes after me is preferred before me, for he was before me.”

In that faith revealed, it is only Christ who can save, for we can reach out with our hands, walk with our feet and touch others with our hearts in their need, that is a good deed indeed, but they need Jesus the Savior to save. We can feed them, and we can clothe them, but it is only He who can deliver from death, hell and the grave. And every man requires that “one thing”! Amen.

Wisdom Under God's Control

Wisdom follows a standard. It is revealed by God's Word. Proverbs 4:7-9  NKJV 7 Wisdom is the principle thing; therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. 8 Exalt her and she will promote you; She will bring you honor, when you embrace her. 9 She will place on your heard an ornament of grace; A crown of glory she will deliver to you.

Wisdom is to be studied. Proverbs 1:2-6 NKJV To know wisdom and instruction, to perceive the words of understanding, 3 to receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, judgment, and equity; 4 To give prudence to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion----5 A wise man will hear and increase learning, and a man of understanding will attain wise counsel, 6 To understand a proverb and an enigma, the words of the wise and their riddles.

Wisdom always evaluates "time". And our time is brief indeed. James 4:14 NKJV 14 Whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.

Wisdom makes this day count. Romans 13:11-14 NKJV 11 And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. 12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. 13 Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. 14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.

Wisdom always lives under God's rule. You and I are to be filled and controlled by the Spirit of the living God: Romans 8:14-16 NKJV  14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God. 15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father".

Father of Wisdom be our source for contentment, for comfort and yes, excitement! Isaiah 61: 1-3 NKJV " The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the LORD has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; 2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn, 3 to console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness. the planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified."

A Wisdom Walk guided by the Lord: Proverbs 4:10-13 NKJV Hear, my son, and receive my sayings, and the years of your life will be many. 11 I have taught you in the way of wisdom; I have led you in right paths. 12 When you walk, your steps will not be hindered, and when you run, you will not stumble. 13 Take firm hold of instruction, do not let go; keep her, for she is your life.

In this day and within this hour,  a man, a woman or child all have the potential to grow up as leaders in a leadership that is productive for life and not destruction! Many are called into leadership but few actually have the capability of leading others.

It is apparent at times to see some kind of leadership in young children and how they will tell other children what to do and when to do it. But the leadership I write about is that which influences others. You may tell me that you are the President of the Women's Committee for such and such........and that means nothing to me. I will be more influenced by what problem you have solved for that committee or what you have accomplished to lead others by your influence within a community or even within your own home.

Leadership always involves being problem solvers. When my husband became head usher at a church some twenty plus years ago, it was women who seemed to step up to usher. Oh yes, men came and tried to usher but women seemed to not complain and just do the job. They stepped up to solve a problem!

Jesus was certainly a problem solver for man’s sin. He lived a sinless life to become the perfect sacrifice before God for man’s destructive life! Jesus had stayed before the Father in prayer and in the study and rehearsing of the word in the synagogue. Do we pray and do we study to show ours approved rightly dividing the word of truth?

Like Jesus, our days can be very busy. He was teaching, traveling and also preaching. He had time to mentor those who wanted to learn. Jesus always went to the quiet place to spend time with His Father. Jesus, I believe, came away from that  time of prayer being refreshed and rejuvenated. Jesus showed a diligence to continue to seek the Father for His plan and purpose for His life.

Leaders are those who walk in integrity. Jesus always spoke and did what He saw His Father speak and do. Those who truly desire your success will always deal with you in truth. If anyone does lie to you, understand that it may take weeks, months or years, but it will surface. We are told in Proverbs 28:13....that "he that covereth his sins shall not prosper."

Communication is always key to being a good leader. A leader will always reach out to others. Many times people stop trying to connect with others just because they have the fear of rejection. But our dream is greater than any rejection. When finding that fear thing appearing, it is time to find that one person who desires to grow. In our communicating with others, we should be looking for those who go beyond their own skill, talent and ask questions about why you do what you do!

Today, make a plan to communicate with others. Send them a note, or write an email and give them an encouragement. Make a plan to touch someone's life and make a difference. We may not know they are going through something, but it may be just the word, or scripture they need to make it through the day and actually see the Lord in you.

In our day to day routines, is there anything we could change to have more time listening to God’s word and prayer so that it shows up in our life and in our speaking?

When our daughter and son-in-law were expecting their first baby ten years ago, our son-in-law called our daughter "the champion" and sometimes just "champ"! I really thought that was awesome and although some may think it unusual, I thought at the time of how appropriate it was for our daughter who was preparing herself for the birth of a baby. She prepared in excellence in eating the right foods, and exercise. She got her rest and she traveled less often to prepare for the birth. She showed passion and desire to see that this baby got the right start in life. She got the Bible on CD and such other teachings, so the baby could hear the Word of God. Even today, I think our grand-daughter knows God to sound a lot like Johnny Cash. Our daughter planned with passion that empowered her to go the distance. At birth time, and a C-section ordered, our daughter had no birth pains, although her body was registering birth contractions on the Dr.'s equipment, she felt no pain! Our daughter put out the honest effort to trust God and His Word. As she put forth to care for her unborn child, God went ahead of her to prepare the way with no pain for her to experience.

Leaders will know their opponent. They will know when to avoid conflict and when to address a situation. In conflict, the flaws are revealed, but in dealing with others, we always look for their potential. What has God placed in them? What is God's desire for them and especially if they truly love the Lord with all their heart?

Leaders will know when to confront and when to rise above those who are critical. When Jesus was being prepared for His crucifixion, He was silent. Matthew 26:63...states "but Jesus held His peace." Like Jesus, we would do well to refuse the critics.

Like Jesus, we as leaders are to teach others. Activate the gift in you and use it for the kingdom of God. It  is important that you mentor someone today. Teach your children, and find those who stand out in the crowd, who love the Lord, and would excel in the excellence of the Lord. Mentor and instruct a teenager, a friend, or an employee. Jesus was the Master Teacher! He needed NO microphone, but He taught. He held no megaphone in hand when He taught at the water’s edge, no He motivated them to come out, and He gave them instruction in relationships and how to lead others.

Spend time today and find those you can nurture in their vision. We can all grow and mature in leadership. I was inspired by our son-in-law when he spoke the words of "champion" so many years ago, and I speak them to you today.

I call you out to mentor those God has placed around you. Help someone to see Jesus and prepare them to see that they can succeed in truth and integrity. The wisdom of God is to influence with that wisdom and not with a loud mouth and megaphone! Be that one who will influence with the voice of wisdom to direct others to the light in Christ Jesus. Just like the lamp needs to be plugged in to be activated to light the living room, so too, you need to connect. Seize the day and create that connection that causes someone else to succeed in leadership!

It will be a special thing when they appear acting and living life in the wisdom of God!
