That Flashing Light of Doom to the Enemy

 

Mayhem in the streets, all day long, is of the enemy. That entitlement comes to those who choose to defy God and His ways and choose to lie, cheat, to have love affairs with things of wood, metal, and sewage "leaders of Portland Oregon choose to allow people into the Willamette River even after raw sewage has leaked into the river at least five times this year".  We must stand strong in this hour.

Hebrews 13:5-6    NKJV   5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." 6 So we may boldly say:

The LORD is my helper;

I will not fear.

What can man do to me?'

 

We see the ugliness of fear when people were told a fable or story if you will. Fear is to be of the Lord. Understanding He is God and we are not to fear man. Man cannot cast you into hell. Although he can tell his peers to smear you in some fashion. Yes, society is different than some 30-50 years ago.

 

Fear, when not controlled, gives evidence that a person does not believe that God is telling the truth and that He cannot be trusted to have one's best interests at heart. What rules our heart? Is it the Lord or something else? Does money rule or does some group of people rule your heart? People will most likely not have peace for you in any form. But God has peace for us when we seek Him.

Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope." To leave no doubt, God reassures us that He wants the best for us, peace and a future with Him forever.

No matter what problems we face, God has a glorious end-game in mind for us.

When we are sick, the symptoms of our illness tend to show up way before the root is exposed. We may face symptoms such as paralyzing anxiety, anger out of control, marriage in distress, financial chaos, a medical emergency, a suicide prevention at work and much more. In that problem, you and I will lack peace and will certainly long for relief. Where does this pain originate? Our Great Physician offers us great clarity and help.

Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. Proverbs 4:23 (NLT)

Your heart determines the course of your life. God reveals that the condition of our hearts will determine the course of our lives. What is inside your heart is taking you somewhere!

Christ points to it in Luke 12:32 as a reason not to fear: "Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom." The end-game for this physical life is only the beginning of the next—eternal life. Our God, with all the power at His command, is committed to getting us there, as I Thessalonians 5:23-24 reveals: "Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it" (emphasis ours).

The Lord is leading us into eternity. But the world will lead you someplace else.  It will take you to hell! Jesus looks on our spiritual growth. He will bless us spiritually or will bring judgment to us spiritually. Again, this is for the believer indeed.

 

Our God is not passive in His love for us but is actively looking for opportunities to do us good, assuring us in 2 Chronicles 16:9, "For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him." Not only is it God's will to be a present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1), this verse in 2  Chronicles also reveals that He takes it much further. God is with great effort, illustrated by running to and fro, actively looking for opportunities to help us. Kiel and Delitzsch says of this verse, "[He] looks forth over all the earth, uses every opportunity wonderfully to succor those who are piously devoted to Him."

So knowing that God is looking for every opportunity to help us, we should be able to relate to Psalm 121:  I will lift up my eyes to the hills—from whence comes my help? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is your keeper; the LORD is your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore.

With all these promises, why do we have fear? We will fear if we do not make God's promises part of our thinking or lack the faith to believe them. We have some of God’s promises on mirrors. We keep watch on His word and make sure it is within our heart.

Heard today that people in our neighborhood are choosing to be too busy to read the word of God! Psalm 91 conveys to us the importance of a dialogue with God. Surely we have one with God daily, read His word and ask Him questions!

Psalm 91: 1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the LORD, 'He is my refuge and my fortress, My God, in Him I will trust. 3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler ...And from perilous pestilence. 4 He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. 5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night. Nor of the arrow that flies by day, 6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. 7 A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you. 8 Only with your eyes shall you look and see the reward of the wicked.  9 Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your swelling place. 10 No evil shall befall you. Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling: 11 For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. 12 In their hands they shall bear you, lest you dash your foot against a stone. 13 You shall tread upon the lion and cobra, the young lion and the serpent you shall trample under foot. 14 Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him.  I will set him on high because he has known My name. 15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. 16 With long life I will satisfy him and show him My salvation.

Abiding in the secret place, we declare the LORD, Jesus will be our refuge. In God we safe and delivered from the snare of the fowler. We are far from perilous pestilence. A thousand may fall at our side, ten thousand at our right hand; it shall not come near us. Only with our eyes shall we look and see the reward of the wicked.

From verse 11 ....satan always leaves this out of his quoting the scriptures: he speaks, that God gives angels charge over you but he always leaves on the passage..."in all your ways".

Our ways have to be with God in communion with Him and obedience to His word. (We cannot say we believe in Him and never talk with Him.) He is our refuge. He is our strength and safety. No total immunity from things occurring around us, still we rise to the top in God. WE confide in Him! It is a relationship. Start there in Psalm 91 and speak everyday over your lives. Plead the blood line of Jesus around your property and be consistent. Ask God any questions, and He will answer you!

God is Engaged with Activity: John 4:24 God is Spirit and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth

1.   Alive in the new Birth; Alive in the flow of His spirit

2.   Enabled by His power and not as a mechanical thing.

3.   It is humble manner of transparency according to His word of truth for Worshiping Him is not a matter of location but the location of our heart: is it for Him out of true knowledge of God

Holiness starts in one's relationship with the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ. Justification through God's merciful act of grace opens the door of access to Him, as well as the door to the Kingdom of God. Justification is entirely an act of God, a legal action on our behalf that we accept by faith because He does not lie. Others do not easily discern our justification, since in most cases it has no outward manifestation.   While sanctification unto holiness begins at the same moment as justification, it is a progressive, creative, time-consuming work of God within us.  Unlike justification, sanctification cannot be hidden because it appears in our godly conduct. By it, a witness is made that God dwells in us. Where there is no holiness, there is no witness to glorify God. 

 So we see that justification and sanctification are two separate matters. They are related - indeed, they cannot be separated - but we should never confuse them. If one partakes in either, he is a partaker of both, but we should not overlook the distinctions between them. Keep away from the world's ways. Do not lie, nor seek evil, for evil is watching you. Let us be found faithful to the Lord and walk in all His ways of truth.

May this help anyone who finds themselves seeing evil in wrong places against you. Remind the devil you belong to God and quote Psalm 91. As I was reminded by my niece recently. and referring to my sister, her mother, to declare certain scriptures. In that the Lord showed me to give all of Psalm 91 again as I did before my sister passed into heaven. I also quote those harassing scriptures as in Jeremiah 15:14 "let every harassing spirit be roasted with double fire. Using the blood Of Jesus when drawing those blood lines around property ...Revelation 12:11. Philippians 1:28 gives the devil that neon of : "Doom, doom, and doom! " And in nothing be terrified by your adversaries, which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God." Amen.

Walk Like a Man: Pull Up Those Pants

 

Deborah: remarkable! She was a prophetess, a wife and a judge. She was married, known as a leader and a woman of faith. She was also known as a poet. “She was a mother in Israel.”

a.       Her husband was Lappidoth (Judges 4:4) although nothing is known of her husband, we are told his name and she was his wife.

b.      She loved God, and she obeyed

c.       She was a remarkable witness due to the time period she lived. The book of Judges was a time for Israel that was characterized by idolatry, defeat and disobedience

d.      Deborah became Judge at the time of when Jabin was king of Canaan (he oppressed the Israelites for 20 years.)

e.       As a Judge, she was a discerner and declaration to the mind of God. She ministered in His wisdom, knowledge and instruction.

f.       Remarkable wisdom: gained through her humble path of service. She was not the aggressive or assertive. She was appointed by God!

g.       She was submissive to her husband and to those in leadership.

h.      Deborah: waited on God, always encouraged others to lead and assisted when needed.

i.        She was clothed with humility (1 Peter 5:5)

j.        Because she humbled herself, God exalted her in due time…(1 Peter 5:6 )

Deborah marked a place in history in Israel be being appointed by God  a judge in the land of Israel. She was the remarkable witness in the period of which she lives. At the time of her appointment, Israel was deep into idolatry and was characterized by their continual defeat and disobedience to follow truth.

It was at the time  of  that Jabin was king of Canaan and his oppression on the people made a real hardship on all.

But we find Deborah, who was the faithful wife, a lover of God and His ways, that brought her to a place of honor in leading a land of God’s people. She had discernment and was mindful to declaring God’s heart on all matters pertaining to her office of judge.

Deborah spent the time to hear God voice His declarations of what was to come and allowed her to speak for HIM> She spoke and encouraged others to lead and she even assisted as we see from scripture above.

Deborah was a lady who was clothed in humility (1 Peter 5:5) She had humbled herself to hear God, she humbled herself to serve her husband, and when she did, she ministered to the land of Israel in God’s wisdom, knowledge  and instruction.

In my opinion Deborah was remarkable! She was a prophetess, a wife and a judge. She was married, known as a leader and a woman of faith. She was also known as a poet. “She was a mother in Israel.” Another note here is that she led men to fight the battle. She was told by the leader of such was Barak that he would not go to battle unless she went too! Judges 4.

Deborah provides a picture of leadership that wasn't normally seen in the society of her time. She was the very talented indeed. Very few women in Scripture rose to positions of national leadership. Deborah stands out due to both her spiritual and civil leadership. She was the only woman who served as a judge during those extended years of turmoil.

THE Book of Judges reflects a negative picture of God's people drifting away spiritually and then eventually experiencing God's judgment. This comes through His allowing other nations to come in and dominate their existence. At times they pillaged Israel's crops, as seen in the account of Gideon and the Midianites. Other people, such as the neighboring Philistines, dominated the nearby areas of Israel. Each time the Israelites woke up spiritually and repented, God provided leaders who made a difference in their situation.

Our society is currently in a second cycle of leadership emphasis within about a 25-year period. Leadership first came to the forefront in the early '80s. A number of books on leadership were written. Some Christian titles highlighted the leadership principles found in Nehemiah's actions in building the walls of Jerusalem. The current emphasis on leadership often draws from secular sources drawing from business concepts and principles.

Barak's response to Deborah's message indicates he accepted the plan. But he did not want to do it by himself. As we feel at times, he wanted the comfort of another human with him before fulfilling God's guaranteed plan. Moses did the same thing when God appeared to him in the desert (Exodus 3). He came up with various excuses until God said Aaron, his brother, was on the way and would be his spokesperson. Though having been given verbal assurance and a miraculous demonstration, Moses resisted until he had a family member with him.

Barak made Deborah's presence with him to be the deciding issue as to whether or not he would fulfill God's plan. Without hesitation or rebuke of Barak, Deborah agreed to accompany him. She did, however, point out there would be no personal honor in the victory for him. In spite of his being the leader and gathering the forces, there would be no acclaiming his name after Sisera's defeat. This did not seem to bother Barak. We can only speculate as to why he accepted this so readily. Probably the might of the enemy loomed before him. Or, it could be he valued the defeat of the enemy above his own personal acclaim.

In response to Barak's call for a military force, 10,000 men joined him. The engagement was not long in coming. Hearing of the gathering of rebel forces, Sisera activated his chariots and soldiers.

Here the family of Heber the Kenite enters the narrative (v. 11). Normally the nomadic Kenites lived in the wilderness south of Judah. Heber, an independent person, moved his family to the north. They were camped in a plain near Kedesh. When Sisera and his forces came where the family camped, they showed him the path that Barak's forces had taken up the mountain. Exactly as Deborah stated, Sisera moved his forces to the river of Kishon (v. 13).

Talk about that Proper Timing (vv. 14-16)

14. And Deborah said unto Barak, Up; for this is the day in which the Lord hath delivered Sisera into thine hand: is not the Lord gone out before thee? So Barak went down from mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.

15. And the Lord discomfited Sisera, and all his chariots, and all his host, with the edge of the sword before Barak; so that Sisera lighted down off his chariot, and fled away on his feet.

16. But Barak pursued after the chariots, and after the host, unto Harosheth of the Gentiles: and all the host of Sisera fell upon the edge of the sword; and there was not a man left.

When God says "now," timing is everything. In verse 14, Deborah gives the signal. Today is the day of deliverance. In complete obedience, Barak leads his force down the mountain to meet the enemy. Their victory is overwhelming. It's not because of their tactics or fighting skill. Rather, God enters the battle and Sisera's forces are utterly confused and destroyed. According to Judges 5:21, it appears God sends a flash flood which turns the plain into a muddy quagmire. The chariots are rendered useless.

Barak's army kills all of Sisera's forces. Only the leader escapes after abandoning his chariot. He literally runs for his life, hoping to find some shelter of escape. Deborah's prophetic announcement to Barak is fulfilled exactly as stated.

Looking for a safe haven, Sisera comes to the tent of Jael, the wife of Heber the Kenite. She invites him to come in and find safety. To enable him to rest, Jael covers him with a quilt or rug and gives Sisera milk when he requests a drink of water. Assuming his hostess will redirect anyone looking for him, Sisera goes to sleep. He never wakes again due to Jael's brutally killing him.

Jael's actions are debatable. On the one hand, Sisera knows the custom of never going into a woman's tent without her husband being there. Anyone who does can be killed. On the other hand, Jael's action of inviting him to come in without fear covers her intention. She doesn't hesitate to commit cold-blooded murder after having offered hospitality, which always included protection.

The end of the story results in Jael's receiving the honor of having overcome the enemy leader. "Though predicted by Deborah, the act was the result of divine foreknowledge, not of divine appointment or action" (Jamieson, Fausset and Brown). When Barak finally catches up with Sisera, it's by Jael's coming out to meet him and showing him the body.

Humble and the Grateful….(Judges 5:1-31)

A. Song of Praise (vv. 1-5)

1. Then sang Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam on that day, saying,

2. Praise ye the Lord for the avenging of Israel, when the people willingly offered themselves.

3. Hear, O ye kings; give ear, O ye princes; I, even I, will sing unto the Lord; I will sing praise to the Lord God of Israel.

4. Lord, when thou wentest out of Seir, when thou marchedst out of the field of Edom, the earth trembled, and the heavens dropped, the clouds also dropped water.

5. The mountains melted from before the Lord, even that Sinai from before the Lord God of Israel.

When reading through the Book of Judges, this is one chapter which we could easily bypass in favor of reading about the next judge. In doing so, we miss a poetic description of the preceding events as they recap God's deliverance. Also, failure to spend some time in this chapter robs us of reading one of the masterpieces of Hebrew poetry.

The "Song of Deborah" begins with the historical past. She calls for a remembrance of God's marvelous manifestations. It goes back to Mount Sinai where God demonstrated His power and spoke verbally to them. Then it covers the overall journey to Edom. This part of history includes God's punishment for sin as well as His provision. It also points to God's revelation of Himself.

It is easy to think of the specific events referred to here and miss the key point—praise. Deborah and Barak knew what their response needed to be. God deserved all the honor and glory. The tremendous victory over superior forces came through divine intervention. In themselves, Barak and his foot soldiers could never have accomplished such a feat.

When God is with you, victory will be seen and experienced.  Was seeing the young man who was lifeguard at a Santa Monica , California beach, who rescued the 10 year old boy who was not only drowning but being washed out to sea by the brutal waves of July 25, 2026. What I saw and loved about this rescue was the lifeguard whether 19 years old or not, he knew his job. He loved rescuing people.  And when he had reached the young boy in the tumultuous waves of that day, he started to bring him back to shore. And each time a tremendous wave came toward them, the lifeguard put himself toward the  main hit of the wave and so protected the much tired and anxious young boy. The lifeguard always put himself toward harm’s way to keep the young boy safe.

We have the opportunities to teach life values. We should be willing to give others God and tell them of His Son’s sacrifice on the Cross. Today some are called as Judges, they are called like Deborah, to lead men, to do their job, with their pants pulled up in the right place, to work toward the goal of safety for those to whom that they or we are sent to this day. When God gives you the plan, then follow that plan for His glory and not for your 15 minutes of fame! Lead in the authority God has given you!

Whether we rescue those overwhelmed by the high seas, or maybe overwhelmed and made anxious about following a woman’s plan for victory. When God speaks and a man will not listen, a woman will!

Francis Frangipane wrote in The Three Battlegrounds: In the battles of life, your peace is actually a weapon. Indeed, your confidence declares that you are not falling for the lies of the devil. You see, the first step toward having spiritual authority over the adversary is having peace in spite of our circumstances. When Jesus confronted the devil, He did not confront Satan with His emotions or in fear. Knowing that the devil was a liar, He simple refused to be influenced by any other voice than God’s. His peace overwhelmed Satan, His authority then shattered the lie, which sent demons fleeing.

The young lifeguard was doing his job in peace. He was not moved by his emotions. He was moved by what he was taught to save another’s life. That is what Jesus did, and that is our call too! Pull up those pants men and let’s march to the voice of God finding someone who needs eternal life with God. Amen.   God will shield us in circumstances that overwhelm. He will cause us to be VICTORIOUS!

Language Means a Lot

 Think of the frustration and disbelief, the Pharisees confronted temple officers. What came back? "Why did you not bring him?" They had been sent to arrest Jesus. The officers returned empty handed, not out fear nor confusion, but conviction. Their answer? No one ever spoke this man". John 7:46

Language is important. One speaks what their heart holds! If you study math, consuming it yearly, you will have a heart for math. Someone who loves spelling will learn to spell many words. What about him who learns a trade: like being an electrician, a machinist, welder or crane operator. Each will work in that which they have learned. What about them who study to be a doctor or lawyer! And then A.I. I hear is writing some kids work in school. The teacher commented last week when we heard it: the teens are writing not their language but that of the A.I. Think that is a problem. She said she knows how these boys and girls speak, yet they are writing words A.I. would use.

Language is considered an art one you will learn when you study something specific! In the news today, you might learn something you did not know, like Johnny has a new house with five bathrooms. You will hear Sara just back from Hawaii for the fifth time. Yikes, did she not see what see needed or did she sleep through the other four trips there.

People are wanting inclusion but on their terms. The hearing is one religion. One religion....oh yes, they want a one world system! Listen to the news and you hear peaceful protests in Los Angeles, yet that displayed is fire . It is police cars on fire, graffiti on federal buildings, projectiles pointed at moving cars. We just saw on the news one doing a car burning circles while someone waved a Mexican flag close by.

Language.

Our faith walk accepts God’s testimony and salvation; By the holy Spirit’s leading and control, Jesus’ life is being reproduced in each of us. If we are committing sorcery or hatred: we are not led by the Spirit of God                                                           

REJECTION of God and law is the natural result of man becoming obsessed with the power of self. Worshippers of self-power will not voluntarily submit themselves to God's rules or laws. It is known as Antinomianis.

 Matthew 7:16-18 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 a good tree cannot bear bad fruit, not can a bad tree bear good fruit.

Romans 16:17-18 Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, & avoid them. 18 for those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, & by smooth words & flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple.   Luke 16:15-16 You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God. 16 The law and the prophets  were until John. Since that time the kingdom of God has been preached, & everyone is pressing into it.

 That is: One must reject the earth-level rule, THE WORLDLY RULE; We must surrender to                God and submit to Him in all our areas for life and living:  Is accomplished by prayer time,                     also includes that one surrenders their will to God and to surrender self-interests. Repentance and belief are the entrance into the kingdom of God. It is seen as God’s plan and purpose for our lives and not BY someone else’s plan and purpose

 Rebellion must be stopped: it is as bad as the sin of witchcraft and stubbornness is as bad as worshiping idols. 1 Samuel 15:22-23  NKJV So Samuel said: Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings & sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, & to heed than the fat of rams. 23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft (divination), & stubbornness is as iniquity & idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, He also has rejected you from being king. Standing in opposition to God’s commands is witchcraft.

Holding a flag for a nation you say you hate, but willingly receive monetarily gifts here, only proves what you have a heart for. Language is to be heard, but that of the heart is seen and speaks volumes of those who hate.

 Operating by UNBELIEF…Matthew 17: 16-21 NKJV 16 So I brought him to Your disciples. But they could not cure him. 17 Then Jesus answered & said, O faithless and perverse generations, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me. 18 & Jesus rebuked the demon, & it came out of him; and the child was cured from that very hour. 19 then the disciples came to Jesus privately, and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” 20 so Jesus said to them, Because of your unbelief; for assuredly I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, Move from here to there & it will move & nothing will be impossible for you. 

Faith walk…and  a trust that God’s word works…..is taking dominion , not by the flesh but by the spirit of God..Confidence should be in God and the promises He has given us. His promises were given to be planted within our hearts and rely on the truth so that we shall see them come to pass in our lives. 2 Corinthians 1:20 For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him, Amen. To the glory of God through us.

Through Jesus we say Amen. But we must submit to God and resist the devil. Any ploy of the enemy can be stopped but we must keep speaking what God has given to us to speak. We must declare those truths and keep them in our own hearing as well. But if we only speak what some friend has given and has nothing to do with the divine truths of God then get rid of them….Have a Bon-FIRE with them…..God’s truth will not lie…So faith and love are wrapped up in our daily walk with God. 

WE are to demonstrate the power of the Holy Spirit in us! Our heart is to  be set with the Father to stand against sin and speak of its destruction to man. To do less is giving no care….to do less…marks the person who will endeavor to having their own way, doing their own thing, for the time they have here…and for…allowing the attractive and the easily absorbed way become their own way and life to see death come for them.   BUT for us” we are followers of Jesus. We are born again to serve in the kingdom which has come. 

We have set our priority in Jesus, the same yesterday, today and forever. Today we choose to take territory for Him in His name…not cheering from the sidelines but a part of the Lord’s movement on earth, that church without walls! Each of us are the committed individual, with a dedicated life to God, humbled to seeing His kingdom come……giving thanks, where spiritual life is demonstrated and God’s words are spoken daily. We live to see His coming back to earth. His kingdom to be seen ………..where people cheerfully give and rejoice at His word. We truly desire to see His glory in our lives. Come Lord Jesus, Come!

Speaking What Happens to A Wicked Generation while being called of God & led to faith in Jesus Christ and repentance toward God, every person is performing some measure of work to reach those states. Christ, after all, calls upon us to present fruit fit for repentance even before our baptism (Matthew 3:8). We work to bear fruit that provides evidence that we believe God by turning toward giving our lives to Him. Without holiness, we will not be fit for living within that Kingdom. We would be miserable round pegs in square holes, intensely disliking the pattern of life necessary for God's plans to be carried out. We would be as the demons are today, constantly fighting to impede God's work and truly making everybody else as miserable as possible. We must be holy as He & His Son are holy: we must work with the Father and Son now by yielding to Their purpose for us.

Matthew 12:43-45 When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. 44 Then he says “I will return to my house from which I came.” And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept and put in order. 45 Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of the man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation.

 Speaking is important. Holiness marks us for His glory and to His praise. Psalm 91 tells us to “say of the Lord”!

 Psalm 91:1-2 NKJV  He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 “I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”

From Psalm 91 we find dwelling in the Secret Place of the Most High abides under the shadow of the Almighty. That place we speak: “I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress; My God in Him I will trust.”

 Psalm 91: 3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. 4 He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.

From perilous pestilence, God delivers us from plagues. Our feet cannot be caught in nets when we take refuge in Him and speak His truth as our shield and buckler. We reside in Him Who is our fortress. He delivers us from fatal disease.

Psalm 5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night nor of the arrow that flies by day; 6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. 7 A thousand may fall at your right side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you. 8 Only with our eyes shall you look, and see the reward of the wicked.

From verse 5 we are not to be afraid of the terror by night nor of the arrow by day. That of night terrors God already knows. That of day might be missiles short or long range still He is God. we are shelter into His personal care. Pestilence that walks is that made by man and made to move for evil intentions. Some disease is shielded from the sun’s rays and moral evil breeds in the dark!

We have safety even in a massacre. Only with our eyes will we see the wicked perish!

 Psalm 91:9-13….9 Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place, 10 No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling. 11 For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways, 12 In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone, 13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.

We are insurance against calamity. Because the Savior made the Most High His refuge and His dwelling place, no disaster would strike Him, no calamity would get near Him. We are guarded by angelic beings. We have an escort.

We trample the efforts of the enemy. The devil presented in scripture as a roaring lion: 1 Peter 5:8 and as an ancient serpent seen in Revelation 12:9.

 

Revelation 12:1  Now a great sign appeared in heaven, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a garland of twelve stars. 2 Then being with child, she cried out in labor and in pain to give birth. 3 and another sign appeared in heaven, behold a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns and seven diadems on is heads. 4 His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood.  Before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born. 5 She bore a male Child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. And this Child was caught up to God and His throne. 6 Then the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God. that they should feed her there one thousand two hundred and sixty days. 7 And war broke out in heaven, Michael and his angels fought with the dragon and the dragon and his angels fought, 8 but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. 9 So he great dragon was cast out that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan who deceives the whole earth and his angels were cast out with him. 10 Then I heard a loud voice saying heaven, “Now salvation and strength and the kingdom of our God and the power of His Christ have come for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb  and by the word of their testimony and they did not love their lives to the death.

 

Victory over the lion and cobra. Holy Spirit have us nine guarantees of safe conduct to the Son of Man during His life of perfect trust and obedience on earth.  A guarantee of six in writing indeed: 91:14 His spotless life on earth, “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name.”

91:15 His suffering for sins: “He shall call upon Me and I wil answer him: I will be with him in trouble.”

91:16 His present session at God’s right hand and coming kingdom. “With long life I will satisfy him and show him My salvation.

There is safety in the Lord always!

  2024 and 2025 will appear and it will be those who keep these words on their lips declaring their safety in Him. From verse 1 abiding in the shelter of Almighty, we are those to have long life in Him. We are kept by the power of God through faith!

The Almighty: Psalm 17:8 Keep me as the apple of Your eye; hide me under the shadow of Your wings, 9 from the wicked who oppress me, from my deadly enemies who surround me. Deuteronomy 32:10 He found him in a desert land and in the waste land, a howling wilderness; he encircled him, he instructed him, and He kept him as the apple of His eye.

Before salvation: we live in a howling waste, a trackless wilderness, a scene of utter disarray, a desolation and barrenness. But God brings us into order and balance. No longer the confused caught up in chaos, but in order, that right conformity to God and righteous before Him.

 In the secret place: are we in a desert dune, a submarine ride into the depths, a waterfall with freshness filling the atmosphere around us or is it that quiet sunset :Hebrews 13:6 The Lord is my Helper, I will not fear. What can man do to me?  Psalm 118:6 The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?

Psalm 56:8-11 NKJV 8 You number my wanderings; put my tears into Your bottle; are they not in Your book? When I cry out to You, then my enemies will turn back; This I know, because God is for me. 10 In God (I will praise His word), in the LORD ( I will praise His word), 11 In God I have put my trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?

David wrote this: was when David was harassed in the Philistine city of Gath. He had left from the presence of Saul who sought to kill him.

God keeps record: Luke 10:20 Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.

The habitation of the Most High is not a revolving door that we are to go into and then out of; it is to be our "constant." Whether we are resting on our beds or traveling the nations, we dwell in His shelter! A place of habitation for His presence,  is that place where is authority is seen and delegated, it is that place where we are the committed to His command, for  He is never boring but rather the amazing. That Secret Place is a holy place: abides there great power and authority with a humbling comfort and rest. All are welcome to that place!

Christ-confidence is found: Proverbs 3:26: "For the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being snared."

Psalm 118: 8 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. 9 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.

Psalm 40:4 blessed is that man who makes the LORD his trust, and does not respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

 

Psalm 91:9-10 Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling (habitation) place, 10 No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling.

Proverbs 14:26…. In the fear of the LORD there is strong confidence, and His children will have a place of refuge. A refuge from storm, as a shade from heat. This is a fresh, a flow of life where satisfaction is found.

 Habitation is Not a Visitation: Hebrews 13:5-8 NKJV 5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” 6  "So we may boldly say... “the LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” 7 Remember those who rule over you, who have spoken the word of God to you, whose faith follow, considering the outcome of their conduct. 8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.

In the presence of God: that habitation, we speak as He speaks, “the LORD is my Helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me.

The Lord counsels us, even in our sleep, He counsels our heart or our inner person! To our heart we receive His counsel, knowing the inheritance but the greatest thing is knowing God above all things!

Psalm 68:5  A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy habitation. The weakest & most vulnerable members of society God helps defend those oppressed.

Deut. 10:8 God separated the tribe of Levi…a priesthood to stand before Him/ who bless His Name continually. That is those who are born-again!

            

By the Holy Spirit, we are choosing life in Jesus daily: Ephesians 2:19-22 Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers & foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints & members of the household of God, 20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, 21 in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, 22 in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

Who has spoken the word of God to us, who has ruled over us with God’s word, directing us into light and not darkness…where faith is active because it relies in a trust that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.     Not timid, nor weak

In Habitation We Become sons and daughters: Psalm 144:12 That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as pillars. sculptured in their palace style; Isaiah 44: 3-5 For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, & floods on the dry ground; I will pour My Spirit on your descendants, & My blessing on your offspring; 4 They will spring up among the grass like willows by the watercourses. 5 One will say, “I am the LORD’S; and another will call himself by the name of Jacob; another will write with his hand, “The LORD’S, and name himself by the name of Israel.

 The Spirit is poured on those who are descendants ;It is the empowering and equipping of the Holy Spirit on God’s children: his sons & daughters:  Acts 2:17 ‘and it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and daughters shall prophesy….The authority of the Spirit is over all “flesh” under the new covenant.

2 Corinthians 6:18 ‘I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the LORD Almighty. Our children should be coming forth in that rest in Jesus ;It is for the glory of the Lord …for in Him, His manifested presence transform us into sons and daughters

He POURS out His Spirit: Upon the ascension of Christ, Jesus left with us Holy Spirit to dwell in our hearts. Holy Spirit works within our hearts to not only give us peace, but also direction. When we seek the Holy Spirit for truth, we are asking to know the route to the will of God in order to be obedient & full of wisdom. Even the groans we profess can be translated by the Holy Spirit to the Father as prayers on our behalf. Communication from God in different forms comes by the Holy Spirit so that we can better know His heart for us through revelation. The Holy Spirit works to be the Helper of God.

Our God is enthroned on our hearts! His righteousness is established.  And in that righteous reign a fulfilling through the son of God, the kingdom has come! Lets abide in speaking what is true and see His will on earth as it is in heaven. Amen
