Is There a Lion in Your Street?

Proverbs 26:13  NKJV   The lazy man says, "There is a lion in the road! A fierce lion is in the streets.

In the streets refers to the main squares or plazas of a city!

In the Passion Translation found in Proverbs 28:15  "Ruthless rulers can only be compared to raging lions and roaming bears." "Abusive leaders fail to employ wisdom, but leaders who despise corruption will enjoy a long and full life.

A sloth man is the lazy man. They see the changes in their city and even neighborhood but do nothing to change it. They never vote thinking their vote will not count. They complain to the high heavens about the injustice but stay put in their easy chair.

Proverbs 19: 15 Laziness casts one into a deep sleep. And an idle person will suffer hunger.

Slothfulness will cause you to sleep when you should be working.. There is a tragedy in idleness. Proverbs 24:30 I went by the filed of the lazy man, and by the vineyard of the man devoid of understanding; 31 And there it was, all overgrown with thorns; Its surface was covered with nettles; Its stone wall was broken down. 32 When I say it, I considered it well; I looked on it and received instruction: 33 A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest; 34 So shall your poverty come like a prowler, and your need like an armed man.

We are warned in 1 John 2:15-16 to not love the world of Satan's creation because it is a huge reservoir of influences to accomplish our own ambitions and not God’s plan. The Pharisee was blinded & his spiritual condition suffered. He could not see God nor hear His voice! He did not recognize that the kingdom had come to him!  Jeremiah 49:16  “Your fierceness has deceived you, the pride of your heart, O you who dwell in the clefts of the rock who hold the height of the hill! Though you make your nest as high as the eagle, I will bring you down from there,” says the LORD.  One of pride's most destructive fruits is self-deception. It is that blindness to one's own spiritual condition. It strongly tends to produce a sense of infallibility, Innerrancy, or unreliability

People not knowing wisdom of God rely on their own abilities and imaginations. Today it is someone relying on other helps like government and not God!

Passion Translation Proverbs 19:24 There are some people who pretend they are hurt----deadbeats who will not even work to feed themselves.

Proverbs 26: 13 Passion Translation The lazy loafer says, " I can't go out and look for a job-----there may be a lion out there roaming wild in the streets!" 14 As a door is hinged to the wall, so the lazy man keeps turning over, hinged to his bed!  15 There are some people so lazy they won't even work to feed themselves. 16 A self-righteous person is convinced he's smarter than seven wise counselors who tell him the truth.

Hebrews 5:13  for everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. Those slothful in their attitude of hearing have a hard time!

Saw a man pull out an easy chair in the Gaze Strip when it was bombed. People told to leave the area but no, they were taking their "Chances" in this ruins of Gaza. Today there are hundreds with their big pans all in line for FOOD!  Told to leave so clean up can begin....no those leaving in the ruins will stay until pushed out. Sad! Many today here in America do the same. They like their way of living and doing! Leave for an area that is growing in the seed of God's WORD. Go to where you are embraced for your love of God and not by how much you own. Remember God loves you and so do WE!

Continue to read and pray the word of God. Continue to walk in the light of Him. Keep your eyes on the Lord and know He has called you out not to be a wimp but a lion who walks in His ways that are everlasting! Amen.

In These Times of Violence

Father, we repent as a nation of not turning to YOU in these times of violence. As Daniel prayed in 9:4-19 …..O Lord, great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant and mercy with those who love Him, and with those who keep His commandments, we have sinned and committed iniquity, we have done wickedly and rebelled, even by departing from Your precepts and Your judgments. Neither have we heeded Your servants the prophets, who spoke in Your name to our kings and our princes, to our fathers and all the people of the land.
O, Lord, righteousness belongs to You, but to us shame of face, as it is this day----to the men of this nation who have been unfaithful to YOU!
(v.8) O Lord, to us belongs shame of face to our (leaders, our fathers) who have sinned against You  …….To the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness though we have rebelled against Him.  v. 14 Therefore the LORD has kept the disaster in mind, and brought it upon us; for the LORD our God is righteous in all the works which He does, though we have not obeyed His voice. V. 15 And now, O Lord our God, who brought Your people out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and made Yourself a name, as it is this day-----we have sinned, we have done wickedly!
v.16 O Lord, according to all your righteousness, I pray, let Your anger and Your fury be turned away from us….this nation which was established in YOUR holy name…
v. 17 Now, therefore our God, hear the prayer of Your servant and his supplications, and for the Lord’s sake cause Your face to shine on Your sanctuary, which is desolate. 18 O my God , incline Your ear and hear; open Your eyes and see our desolations  and the city which is called by Your name, for we do not present our  supplications before You because of our righteous deeds but because of Your great mercies. 19 O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, listen and act! Do not delay for Your own sake my God, for Your city and Your people are called by Your name.

From verse 14, we see the LORD has kept the disaster in mind for the land! When people choose to lift up the false narratives and false ways and give praise to those who choose to be lazy and not work, but beat up and kick to the curb those who sacrifice time for their family, for their job and to be responsible then a nation has gone in the wrong direction!

What comes from our hearts? Is there a cry for righteousness or just to get our own way? What if we ask God for His way and His truth? What if we walk the straight and the narrow to see His kingdom come on earth and in us? Jesus did not come to accommodate our culture, but He did come to set up His kingdom!

WHEN Daniel prayed out his petitions to God: he prayed basing them on God’s character:   His greatness , His faithfulness, His righteousness , His forgiveness & mercies; & on the very interests God has for His people including the city of Jerusalem, the holy mountain of God, His sanctuary.

If we as a nation see corruption, do we pray for our leaders, not only in the government of this nation as our President, vice-President, those that represent the districts within states of this union,  but also for the mayors of cities & towns, for police officers, firefighters, those first-responders & medics or for our schools & those as leaders in those places? Do we stand in the gap, when so much immorality is given in war of words, paraded in commercials on T.V., flaunted on our streets & where lies prevail in the marketplace!

WHO will stand in the gap for God: Ezekiel 22:29-30  NKJV The people of the land have used oppression's, committed robbery, & mistreated the poor & needy; & they  wrongfully oppressed the stranger. 30 So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, & stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.

Are we too busy to pray? Are we caught up in tracing our ancestors of yesteryear that we have no time for today? Do we look for more ways to be entertained than to see why our children are acting out in public or at school?  For what is in one’s heart will certainly reflect what they fill up on in the place they call home.
Our grand-daughter had been over for a visit in recent weeks and one of the things I noticed that a channel I purposed showed nothing for a nine year old. It was young teens acting like they were twenty years and older and then acted  out like they were much older for those things with guys that was not prudent or safe for a young girl to see and entertain within her thinking. YES, I changed the channel!

What has happened to this nation? What has happened to your nation? Do we pray for our leaders and those in charge of making decisions or are those elected only there to direct their wishes onto the public. I heard a man speaking yesterday that all baby-boomers were spoiled children and they all acted out by becoming hippies. In regards to a past president, he made comment of the Clinton's and their thing with 'pot'.
My husband and I were considered of that generation, but we came later and while those twenty something’s were out parading with their drug paraphernalia, going bare-footed, and speaking “groovy man” we were working after school. My husband worked till dark every day after school while he was still at home. I was to do my homework and then to find the dish soap to wash a dish when the dinner was done, and if the lawn needed cutting, my sister or I would cut it in order to help our parents out who both worked for a living.
'Pot' was not a part of our thing, paraphernalia or anything else. If my dad or mother knew we had gone to do any of that kind of thing, we certainly would know that sitting down would be a hard thing for us do for the next week and we would know that we were not to do that thing again. My parents did not drink in front of us nor behind us. They chose to leave that stuff when raising a family.

Some of the people that I knew told stories of that hippie thing were those who were born in the early and mid-forties of the twentieth century. So too me, they were those who did not have a father at home due to the battles overseas and the war with Japan. Still, we had our dad at home with us when the Vietnam war came. The sacrifice that came was because people dared to think our nation could continue as the one nation under God. And many who went to war did not return home to their home or family again!
We were taught to have a respect for those who fought those battles overseas so there would never be battles here. But I believe someone forget to teach the importance of knowing the truth of those wars and why they were fought over there!
When our daughter was growing up, we taught her about the history of our state and the history of the nation. We talked about relatives who went to fight overseas and reminded her of those who gave their lives for that freedom that she could enjoy!

What we magnify, we create!

As Daniel prayed: " O Lord, great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant and mercy with those who love Him, and with those who keep His commandments, we have sinned and committed iniquity, we have done wickedly and rebelled, even by departing from Your precepts and Your judgments. Neither have we heeded Your servants the prophets, who spoke in Your name to our kings and our princes, to our fathers and all the people of the land."
Yes, we have committed iniquity and it continues to grow at an alarming rate. Will people wake up to the "mess" that embroils this place we call 'home'? Or are we satisfied to go about doing our own thing as long as we are not disturbed in any way.

Many of those who came after us and still considered 'the baby boomers' have all held jobs and raised their children to become adults that choose to live in a house and pay taxes. They chose to raise their children to know truth and be raised in the admonition of the LORD.

I pray people would stop playing the 'blame game' and come out from among them to find peace in God and become all that He purposed for His people. For He has given us direction in our identities. He purposed us from our mother's womb to be precisely who He planned for from the foundation of the world. I pray people would stop to pray whenever they read this or wherever they might be that they would set their hearts to pray and to hear from heaven for this nation and its leaders, for that place where they live and reside to be responsible with what God has placed in their hands to do for Him and His glory.

Father, we pray because we love You our creator.  As the man or woman, we have this desire to be together with You and communicate! We give praise for who You are and what awesome power and majesty surrounds You. You are our strength and You are our portion, our source and our life!
Jesus warned his disciples to watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation
(Matthew 26:41)

Thank You Father for the power in prayer for we have learned that having this spiritual life is air to our natural life. Today we choose prayer so that we would not become the weak and the exposed. Nor we will not allow the enemy to gain any ground in deceiving us.
We ask for intervention so that human affairs will not dominate this nation and the world. We invite You to work on earth so that Your kingdom comes into those multitudes who would be lost without this intervention.
We are thankful for salvation and we earnestly remember Your goodness to us in the land of the living. We set out to pray and not lose heart and to pray without ceasing. For in Daniel we saw him pray and be given more insight to revelations of You and Your kingdom. We know those who have been subdued by the strength of Your fire. For those raged against Daniel certainly were hushed when consumed by the lions when they had poised to take out Daniel because he prayed. Chains were broken for Paul & Silas when they praised God. And Hannah received a child into what was once a barren womb when she prayed and believed for that child that God could give.

We pray expecting truth to prevail in this nation and around the world. We pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ, both near and far that they would see Your kingdom come into their lives, into their communities and into their nations. For in these times of violence, we pray for them to have freedom in religion to worship the true God, where the fountain of life flows and the blessings manifest!

We pray babies will no longer be aborted but live for God and for His glory. We pray marriages would be strong and overcome the works of the flesh. We pray children would be raised to know the truth of God and become the strength He has planned for their lives in the future. We call out those destined for leadership and to take their rightful places in righteousness of God to pray,  to inhale His goodness and His word and exhale the strength of that wisdom into the work place, schools, and government.

We pray for the safety of children of all ages and that the enemy cannot touch them in the womb or within their homes. The enemy cannot have our children or grand-children, and he cannot touch what we have asked God to protect by the blood of His son Jesus!
We pray for safety for our brothers and sisters in Christ who go out to give the Gospel to those wandering in the dark. Father, thank You for their faithful hearts and give them strength to carry out Your plan. We honor You this day and this hour and speak, Come Lord Jesus, Come!
It is in Jesus' name we have prayed. Amen

Executing Wisdom on the Earth

Proverbs 24:30-34 I went by the field of the lazy man, and by the vineyard of the man devoid of understanding; 31 And there it was, all overgrown with thorns; its surface was covered with nettles; its stone wall was broken down. 32 When I saw it, I considered it well; I looked on it and received instruction: 33 a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest; 34 So shall your poverty come like a prowler, and your need like an armed man.

Observing the sloth there is tragedy in the house! According to this passage, this man has no understanding. His place, that where he resides is all grown up and the surface is covered with nettles. It did have a stone wall but that is broken down. Being asleep to responsibility is allowing things to go without attention!

Do we set purpose toward having a job and showing up on time? DO we seek to caring for that which has been given into our hands? Do we struggle on getting up in the morning but chose to stay up late? Proverbs 6:9-11 How long will you slumber ( lie down), O sluggard?
When will you rise from your sleep? 10 A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep----11 So shall your poverty come on you like a prowler, and your need like an armed man.

Showing no effort towards living this life given us, really points to that idle behavior, that has no result of good in it! In relating to the one, who, when the alarm goes off in the morning should one readily reach to shut off the alarm and arise to the day the Lord has made? But I wonder how many struggle with that alarm! I wonder how many just want to stay in bed.
What about shopping for groceries or taking care of paying those bills? The sloth appears when one has no zest to take the trash out to the container for the morning's pickup. Some folks choose to be slack by choosing to leave it at the back door as if that trash bab will some how make its way to the bin on its own!

It is one thing if a person is ill and requires help for that daily living assistance. But if it amounts to being lazy, the slacker, the one who really dislikes the whole "work" thing really places one into a new category. Not taking care of daily issues like sacking trash and purchasing food for meals gives others the idea and notably true that we dislike doing that thing.

When our grand-daughter is here for a visit, we have always liked to watch Zootopia with her. Now this last time that she came for a visit, we never had much time for television and movies. The days she was here proved to be days of sun and fun. And although we missed Flash, the sloth from Zootopia, I still thought of that character. You know his name is Flash and he works at the DMV. Still he is a sloth that shows up for work. Yes, I know this is a animated character from a kids movie, but should we not also consider what people see as humor is not really humor. We are made in the image of God and not the image of a sloth.
Seriously, would you want to look like a sloth?

Proverbs 12:27 The lazy man does not roast what he took in hunting, but diligence is man's precious possession. One who is too lazy to to cook the game he went after is truly lazy!
Proverbs 4:23 Keep your heart with all diligence for out of it spring the issues of life.

Yes, it is the heart of man that tells the world what is going in their thinking. Living in that regard is not really living life that God intended. We each have a 'garden' to care for and whatever it looks like, whether a tent, a model home or palace should still be regarded as to be cared for that which we have been given.

The description given in Proverbs 4: 24-27 gives great detail how our lives should be lived with intent and not as a sloth. Verse 24 : Put away from you a deceitful mouth, and put perverse lips far from you. 25 Let your eyes look straight ahead. And your eyelids look right before you. 26 Ponder the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established. 27 Do not turn to the right or the left; removed your from evil.

Our mouth and lips convey communication. Our eyes look at what has our attention and the feet walk out our behavior. So if we are hooked on television and how to be the next great singer or dancer, and cannot sing or dance, that tent might be where one will find themselves living. What behavior we execute from our thinking then will determine our outcome!
Proverbs 1:16 For their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed blood. 17 Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird; 18 but they lie in wait for their own blood, they lurk secretly for their own lives. 19 So are the ways of everyone who is greedy for gain; it takes away the life of its owners.

People can easily be ensnared when they project their wants above truth and what is right for life. Those who are considered the wicked are always looking for easy prey. They will look how to take money from unsuspecting women by making them think they have a love interest in them. There are those seeking who they can prey upon who think they can actually have a singing career and be 'talked into making decisions' that are wrong for the unsuspecting prey. They could be talked into doing that which relieves them of their bank account to zero. And the unsuspecting could have their name exploited by those who do not care about the person nor do they mind taking them to the 'cleaners' in doing so.

It is God and His truth that helps you and I to make godly choices. His truth helps us to not make foolish mistakes. You and I must have the counsel of God to reject the counsel of the ungodly. We should hear God's voice above all others when the wicked appear. And today, they appear in all kinds of places : like schools, churches, hospital and rehabilitation units as well as the parks and gyms, lifting weights and cycles that are regarded as spin class!

If our eye just looks on our wants, those fleeting passions of the flesh, we can find a lot of emptiness and everything void of life. Our salvation was meant to save us from destruction. It was the plan of God for us to have a relationship with Him. We are to know Him intimately.  Isaiah 26:1-3…..We have a strong city; God makes salvation its walls and ramparts. 2 Open the gates that the righteous nation may enter, the nation that keeps faith. 3 You will keep him in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. NIV

And our God is not passive in His love for us but is actively looking for opportunities to do us good, assuring us in II Chronicles 16:9, "For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him." Not only is it God's will to be a present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1), this verse in II Chronicles also reveals that He takes it much further. God is with great effort, illustrated by running to and fro, actively looking for opportunities to help us.

But if we are too lazy to look into His perfect law of liberty, if we are too intent on being the singer and spend time with watching singers on television or even you-tube, we might certainly miss that which God is willing to show us out of His great love for us.

For truly, God's word exposes that truth but it is only our trust in Him that sees that word executed in our lives. If we live as a sloth, then everything will go to ruin, to weed and to the point of us having no protection. With the wall torn down, one is put in danger of predators coming to take over not only what you have but live in that which you never fought for. For being idle is truly a sad state to be in.

Proverbs 5:1 My son, pay attention to my wisdom; lend your ear to my understanding 2 that you may preserve discretion, and your lips may keep knowledge. When we bow before God and His wisdom...that is...we pay attention, we set our heart on what He gives as truth to us. As we listen to Him, we will not stray from His wise instruction. Without God, we come to death, poverty, condemnation, and disgrace.
Living diligently is living with purpose, is living with lips that keep God's knowledge, that sound like the wisdom of God  and behaves in His wisdom that we execute His wisdom on the earth. Amen.
