To see Him risen: Matthew 28:1 NKJV Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. ( they came to view with purpose in mind) 2 And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door and sat on it.
Verse 5 But the angel answered and said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. 6 He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lays. 7 "And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you." 8 So they went out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring His disciples word. 9 and as they went to tel His disciples behold, Jesus met them, saying , "Rejoice". So they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him. 10 Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid.
Go and tell My brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see Me."
What were they told? They were being sent on a Great Commission! It begins with worship! Try going on your own and you will flop indeed!
Foundational Scripture: Ecclesiastes 12:6-7;11--14 Amplified Bible 6[Remember your Creator earnestly now] before the silver cord [of life] is snapped apart, or the golden bowl is broken, or the pitcher is broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern [ and the whole circulatory system of blood ceases to function]. 7 Then shall the dust [out of which God made man’s body] return to the earth as it was, and the spirit shall return to God Who gave it.
11 The words of the wise are like prodding goads, and firmly
fixed [in the mind] like nails are the collected sayings which are given [as
proceeding] from one Shepherd. 12 But about going further [than the words given
by one Shepherd], my son be warned. Of making many books there is no end [so do
not believe everything you read]. And much study is a weariness of the flesh.
13 All has been heard; the end of the matter is: Fear God[ revere and worship
Him, knowing that he is] and keep His commandments, for this is the whole of
man[ the full, original purpose of his creation, the object of God’s
providence, the root of character, the foundation of all happiness, the
adjustment to all inharmonious circumstances and conditions under the sun] and
the whole duty for every man. 14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every
secret thing, whether it is good or evil.
We will know death....it will come....that silver cord will be snapped apart. We are warned that under the sun is without God. Take note of our culture today. It is leaving the word of God out. It is culture for the Me, Myself, and I. It is not serving God but self!
Ephesians
2:11-13 NKJV 11 Therefore
remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh---who are called the Un-circumcision
by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands---12 that at that
time you were without Christ, being
aliens from the common-wealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of
promise, having no hope and without God
in the world.
1.
We
were estranged from our Creator our Father
2.
Were
without a Savior, living in futility and hopelessness
What might we think of Cain: when approaching God, Cain was coming to God in his personal worthiness.....that stinks
He was not accepting of God’s way
Cain was offering to God what God had cursed, the whole ground of the earth
Cain presented the toil of his own hands:God refused it................ Anger culminated in Cain’s character......... His path was set for rage, set for the unworthy…no good purpose
Ephesians
1:18-19 Amplified Bible 18
By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light; so that you can know and
understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious
inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones), 19 And [ so that you can know
and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness
of His power in and for us who believe, as
demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength.
1. Strength
of God is in us who believe
2. That
strength is demonstrated through us when our eyes for seeing is flooded with
His light
3. That
is our hearts must be filled with His thoughts, His ways and His plan
Galatians
5:5-9 Amplified Bible 5
For we, [not relying on the Law but] through the [Holy] Spirit’s [help], by faith
anticipate and wait for the blessing and good for which our righteousness
and right standing with God [our conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action,
causes us to hope. 6 For [if we are] in Christ Jesus, neither
circumcision nor un-circumcision counts for anything, but only faith
activated and energized and expressed and working through love. 7 You are
running your race nobly. Who has interfered in (hindered and stopped you from )
heeding and following the Truth? 8 This [evil] persuasion is not from Him Who
called you [Who invited you to freedom in Christ]. 9 A little leaven ( a slight
inclination to error, or a few false teachers) leavens the whole lump [it
perverts the whole conception of faith or misleads the whole church].
1. Faith
perverted is evil persuasion
2. It
is not of God, for God is of truth, energized and expressed through love
3. By
the Holy Spirit, we are to anticipate and wait for the blessing when conforming
to God’s will in our thoughts, our actions that results with hope in our heart
Repentance is required. Worship is so important. Righteousness is not earned, it is the gift of God! Galilee represented a place of faith found in John 4:45 So when He came to Galilee, the Galileans received Him, having seen all the things He did in Jerusalem at the feast for they also had gone to the feast.
The Speech in Galilee was noted: Mark 14:70b "Surely you are one of them; for you are a Galilean, and your speech shows it."
And Pilate's cruelty toward Galileans: Luke 13:1-5 NKJV There were present at that season some who told Him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. 2 And Jesus answered and said to them, "Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than all other Galileans because they suffered such things. " 3 "I tell you no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish." 4 "Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse sinners than all other men who dwelt in Jerusalem?" 55 "I tell you, no but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.
