How it is so easy to be brave in the easy day of life: no sickness, no disease, no pain, plenty of food and money with nice clothes on our back. But how about the hard day? Is it filled with courage or fainting? Just ask me! I could tell you when your body does not function like it did before, like the young adult, what is my bravery shaped by, or is it? Is our focus on the Lord when the Doctor or doctors cannot see you till the seasons change? Do we focus on truth or just lies ?
Psalm 119:160 Passion Translation The sum total of all your words adds up to absolute truth, and every one of your righteous decrees is everlasting.
Bravery should reveal this: Psalm 119:162 Your promises are the source of my bubbling joy; the revelation of your word thrills me like one who has discovered hidden treasure.
Easy or hard: we are told to despise every lie and hate every falsehood, for I am passionate about keeping your precepts, I stop to praise you seven times a day, all because your ways are perfect.
So I ask you for your day of life: is it easy or hard? Is your job causing you a great headache? Is it you facing another day of pain or you set on running 10 or 20 miles to keep that weight down to normal? Or are we facing another test to our functioning as the "normal" adult?
Is this God's wonderful WORKS? Psalm 135 Passion Translation reminds us of this in verse 4 For Yahweh has chosen Jacob for his own purposes, and Israel is his special treasure. 5 Next to every other god, the greatness of our God is unequaled for our God is incomparable! 6 He does what he pleases with unlimited power and authority, extending his greatness throughout the entire universe!
His power is unlimited power and authority and is seen throughout the entire universe. Sorry, doctor does not get the last word. Only truth will suffice in this day of life in the Lord. Only truth is to shine and be revealed in us and through us. Psalm 135 reminds us that He will vindicate His persecuted people. Verse 15 the unbelieving nations worship what they make. They worship their wealth and their work. They idolize what they own and what they do. 16-18 Their possessions will never satisfy. Their lifeless and futile works cannot bring life to them!
Their things can't talk to them or answer their prayers. Blind men can only create blind things. Those deaf to God can only make a deaf image. Dead means one can only create dead idols. and everyone who trusts in these powerless, dead things will be just like what they worship-----powerless and dead!
That "seven" times we read about is also found in the book of Revelation and it means completeness. It means He will complete His word of faith you know and hold in your heart.
The desert of dust in the eyes, the heat of another decision we face hoping to choose righteously is found among those Psalm 1 speaks. Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scornful; 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night.
I have not seen the fullness of His truth in me, but I continue to confess by faith He is for me. I may not stand where I did before, but I stand today with bravery because I keep Him close. I keep His truth in my heart.
I pray what you may face in your day of life: God is for you and will fulfill His promises in you. He is returning soon and may you and I be counted among the consistently righteous! Amen.
