We find such wording found also in
the book of Matthew for those to take heed and repent.
In
this hour we are to endure. To hold one’s ground in conflict, bear up
against adversity and yes to stand firm in our faith! But where does faith lie
in us?
“Repentance grows as faith grows. Do
not make any mistake about it; repentance is not a thing of days and weeks, a
temporary penance to be gotten over as fast as possible! No; it is the grace of a
lifetime, like faith itself. God's little children repent, and so do the young
men and the fathers. Repentance is the inseparable companion of faith.”
― Charles H. Spurgeon ( All Grace)
Matthew 24:3-14 NKJV 3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came
to Him privately, saying “Tell us when will these things be? & what will be
the sign of Your coming & of the end of the age?” 4 And Jesus answered
& said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come
in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ & will deceive many. 6 “ And you
will hear of wars & rumors of wars. See that you are not troubles for all
these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 “For nation will rise
against nation, & kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines,
pestilences ( Covid -19 or Hantivirus) & earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the
beginning of sorrows. 9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation
and kill you and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And
then many will be offended, will betray one another, & will hate one
another. 11”Then many false prophets will rise up & deceive many. 12 “&
because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who
endures to the end shall be saved.
Matthew
24:15-28 NKJV 15 Therefore when you see
the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet standing in the
holy place” whoever reads, let him understand, 16 then let those who are in
Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let him who is on the housetop not go down to
take anything out of his house. 18 And let him who is in the field not go back
to get his clothes. 19 “But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are
nursing babies in those days! 20 And pray that your flight may not be in winter
or on the Sabbath. 21 “For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the
beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless
those days were shortened, no flesh
would be saved; but for the elect’s those days will be shortened. 23 “Then
if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ! Or There’ do not believe it.
24 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and
wonders to deceive if possible, even the elect. 25 “See, I have told you
beforehand.” 26 “Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert! Do
not go out; or ‘LOOK, He is in the inner rooms!’ Do not believe it. 27 For as
the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the
coming of the Son of Man be. 28 “For wherever the carcass is, there the eagles
will be gathered together.” 29 “For to everyone who has, more will be given,
and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has
will be taken away. “30 And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer
darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. (He CONTINUES with The Coming of the Son of Man in verses 29-31, the Parable of the Fig
Tree in verses 32-35, No one Know the Day or Hour verses 36-44 and the Faithful
Servant and the Evil Servant.)
From the above scripture,
repentance is involved. Down below we find no repentance in men or women.
Tribulation is evident and His return is certain. Destruction is coming! Earthquakes increase as does famine increase.
Luke
17:20-37 Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would
come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with
observation; 21 “nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘see there!’ For indeed, the
kingdom of God is within you.” 22 Then
he said to the disciples, “The days will come when you will desire to see one
of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it. 23 And they will say to
you; ‘Look here!” or ‘Look there!’ Do not go after them or follow them. 24 For as lightening that
fleshed out of one part under heaven shines to the other part under heaven, so
also the son of Man will be in His day. 25 “But first he must suffer many
things and be rejected by this generation. 26 “and as
it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of
Man: 27 “They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage,
until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them
all. 28 “Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot:
They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; 29 “but
on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven
and destroyed them all. 30 “even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man
is revealed. 31 “In that day, he who is on the housetop, and his goods are in
the house, let him not come down to take them away. And likewise the one who is
in the field, let him not turn back. 32 “Remember Lot’s wife.” 33 “Whoever
seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve
it. 34 “I tell you, in that night there will be two men in one bed; the one
will be taken and the other will be left. 35 “Two women will be grinding
together: the one will be taken and the other left. 36 “Two men will be in the
field: the one will be taken and the other left. 37 and they answered and said
to Him, “Where Lord?” So He said to them, “Wherever the body is, there the
eagles will be gathered together .
Here we
find a famine, not of bread, nor for water but of hearing the words of the
Lord. Amos 8:11-12 NKJV 11 "Behold, the days are coming,"
says the Lord GOD,
"That
I will send a famine on the land, Not a famine of bread, Nor a thirst for
water,
But of
hearing the words of the LORD. 12 They shall wander from sea to sea,
And from
north to east; They shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the LORD,
But
shall not find it.
Terrible
times occur. We can see today, people needing some kind of SNAP program, but it
is being taking from the hungry to feed the greedy with green backs on their
minds. Unfortunately when God's Word is most needed to help the people come to
repentance, it will be almost impossible to find. When the people finally
realize that God wants them to repent, it will be too late. The seeds of their
destruction have been sown, and the crop is already ripe. The only truth
available to them in the tumult of God's judgment is what they can remember. It
is for this reason that God warns us in these times to "[redeem] the time,
because the days are evil" (Ephesians 5:16). Spend time reading. Spend time rehearsing the words of the Lord’s
return.
If our
hope is in the Kingdom of God, the resurrection of the dead, and sharing life with
God eternally are not sufficient to motivate us to repent, perhaps fear of a
terrible calamity, the Great Tribulation, the Day of the Lord, or being spewed
from God's mouth as a Laodicean will move us to use the present to secure the
future. God prophesies to motivate us to cling to Him and His Word right now,
and He is willing to scare us nearly to death in order to save us.
During
this famine, "They shall wander from sea to sea, and from north to east;
they shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the Lord, but shall not find
it" (Amos 8:12). Amos probably refers to the Dead and Mediterranean Seas,
east to west, and adds "north to east," describing a triangle with
the south direction left out. Why would he do this? It is on a map of
Palestine, the Dead Sea lies to the east, the Mediterranean to the west and the
nation of Israel to the north. What lies to the south? Jerusalem, where the
truth was! In Amos' day, the truth was taught in God's Temple in Jerusalem. It
was the Israelites that wanted to be known as seekers of the truth of God. But
reality they did not want it. They would not humble themselves.
A tremendous word appears: Wander can be rendered "stagger" like a drunk or "tremble" like lips quivering in agitation because one is so angry or fearful he is unable to speak. It shows the people in a state of panic and intense agitation. They are desperately searching for what they had regarded so lightly: God, the Bible, His truth. But they cannot find them anywhere!
Today we
cannot find a truthful headline of news. It is trying to put puzzle pieces
together to find truth. Thankfully the Lord gives us His truth in the Bible.
For today many are seeking any kind of religion, and many will fall prey to
false ones. This scenario is already happening in modern Israel. New Age,
mystical, and Eastern religions are growing steadily, and many
"Christians" feel free to borrow "truth" from other
religions. Additionally, recent years have seen the rise of ecumenical
movements within a broad spectrum of religious bodies.
Is it
not common to find mosques located in your city? This was a nation built on the
Biblical standards of God our Father. Will we speak His truth, repent when
sinning and turn from wickedness to righteous ways?
Nuclear
missiles anyone? How many missiles would U. S. have on hand? How far will those
“old” one reach in a need? And will they do the job or only make a lot of smoke
and spread deadly gas? Just from a
Michael Snyder writing, I received that Vladimir Putin just tested an area the
size of Texas and destroy it in its entirety.
The RS-28 Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile has a maximum speed
of approximately 15,500 miles per hour. It is roughly the height of a four
story building. It can carry up to 10 metric tons of thermonuclear warheads,
and those warheads can destroy a land area the size of Texas.
Ah, this
is the crown jewel of Putin indeed! Anyone one single Sarmat will release 16
independently-target-able nuclear warheads. One goes up and 16 come down, and
will take out sixteen cities. Anyone for toast right now? This can show up at
year’s end on the schedule of Russia and its leaders!
What say
you? I remember living through the Bay of PIGS: the Cuban Missile Crisis and we
need Jesus. We should not wait till one is on the death bed. Your end or mine might be
sooner than expected. But thankful the Lord hears our prayers for these Russian
leaders. Being school aged and living in central Texas, in the fall of 1962. It
was a crisis of weeks. It lasted from October 16 to October 28, 1962. (Hiding
under a desk will not help you)
For
Jesus, His own neighbors rejected Him. They saw interruption in their
lifestyle, in their own thinking, but chose to carry on in their unbelief. They
chose sin over Him! Some people just want to be right all the time. But we
cannot be that way ….we must have God guiding us with His eye. Certainly those
who were astonished also became those who were ready to kill Him. They wanted
Jesus gone however they had to do it. But truth ruled Jesus’ life. The truth of
God carried Him to the Cross and then to the right hand of God in Heaven.
We are
warned in these books. Luke gives us that one will be taken and another left to
their sin. What is first on our schedule today? Might REPENTANCE rule over our
day when someone is close to hitting that RED BUTTON?
