Like John we are to be re-provers by office and by that which God provides in our hearts to speak: 2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
For Understanding: Prov. 10:13 Wisdom is found on the lips
of him who has understanding, but a rod is for the back of him who is devoid of
understanding. Prov. 13:15 Good understanding gains favor, but the way of the
unfaithful is hard. Understanding: 7922 O.T. )say—kel….to have prudence, to
have discretion, being wise.
Unfaithful: are those with no real relationship, they move
on a whim, when catastrophe or sudden illness is seen, many will leave. They
shift to the winds of caprice and self-indulgence! Many just want to be heroes
with no work or detail of domestic life appearing!
WISDOM and Revelation…. The Holy Spirit is called the Spirit of wisdom and revelation. (Eph 1:17) that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. Revelation knowledge penetrates right to the heart of man, it is the Word of God with the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Even Satan can quote scriptures but it is the Holy Spirit that makes God’s Word relevant in Love to the receiver. If we just operate based on wisdom, we become an old wineskin that cannot take in the new wine, the present Word of the Lord. Without revelation, we will merely maintain our ministries and not truly operate in Kingdom advancement. We must continuously come to God for fresh truth so that our youth is renewed like the eagle (Psalm 103:5). This heart posture will keep us willing to break out of the mold and jump off new cliffs into deeper waters that He can release through us.
Delivered to the Kingdom of Heaven, Redemption, to Being
Filled with all His wisdom and His spiritual understanding: Colossians
1:9-14 NKJV 9 For this reason, we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease
to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with knowledge of His will in
all wisdom and spiritual understanding.
10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being
fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God, 11
strengthened with all might according to His glorious power, for all patience
and longsuffering with joy, 12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified
us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. 13 He has delivered us from the power
of darkness and conveyed us into the
kingdom of the Son he loves, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood,
the forgiveness of sins.
Endurance: having constancy in our lives with God and His Word
1.) Living a
life worthy of the Lord
2.) Pleasing
Him in every way
3.) Bearing
fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God
4.) Strengthened with power according to His might
We gain discernment when we spend time with God and His Word:
Gaining Discernment Through God’s Word : Heb. 5:11-14 NKJV
11 Of whom We have much to say
and hard to explain since you have become dull of hearing. 12 for though by this time you ought to be
teachers, you need someone to teach you the principles of the oracles of God; &
you have come to need milk & not
solid food. 13 for everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word
of righteousness, for he is a babe. 14 But solid food belongs to those who are
of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to
discern both good and evil.
Motivated by God’s will and Not Our Opinion: Influence of
the Unkind: From James 3:15 good conduct done in wisdom…15 This wisdom does not
descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. ( it is of the flesh)
1.) But some
operated out of the bitter envy: they are fierce, with the contemptuous spirit,
while attempting or pretending to defend true religion but in truth have no
religion.
2.) They
profess by lying against the truth. 3. God
is not the author of worldly wisdom! The
world’s wisdom is bitter-not meek. They live for the moment……….that which is
sensual! Look at that of Salome in this
passage: : Matthew 14:3-12 NJKV 3 For Herod had laid hold of John & bound him,
& put him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife. 4
Because John had said to him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.” 5 And
although he wanted to put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they
counted him as a prophet. 6 But when Herod’s birthday was celebrated, the
daughter of Herodias danced before them & pleased Herod. 7 Therefore he
promised with an oath to give her whatever she might ask. 8 So she, having been
prompted by her mother, said, “Give me John the Baptist’s head here on a
platter.” 9 And the king was sorry; nevertheless because of the oaths &
because of who sat with him, he commanded it to be given to her.10 So he sent
& had John beheaded in prison. 11 And his head was brought on a platter &
given to the girl, & she brought it to her mother. 12 Then his disciples
came & took away the body & buried it, & went away & told
Jesus.
1) Immorality
was found among Herod & Herodias; lust bound him to more oppressed and dark
tastes leading to murder
2) We too
should tell Jesus when there are times of persecution, oppression, suffering
and sorrow when seeing it among our peers! Do we mention it?
3) Herodias’
daughter Salome danced a most provocative dance before this king
4) Considered
the minor ruler over Galilee: Herod Antipas; Mark 6:17-27 NKJV 17 For Herod
himself had sent & laid hold of John, & bound him in prison for the
sake of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife; for he had married her. 18 Because
John had said to Herod, “It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife;
for he had married her. 19 Therefore Herodias held it against him & wanted
to kill him, but she could not; 20 for Herod feared John, knowing that he was a
just and holy man, & he protected him. And when he heard him, he did many
things, & heard him gladly.
5) This same
king Herod had seduced his niece Herodias, who was married to Herod’s brother
Philip. He the face of evil persuaded her to divorce her husband & marry
him. He in turn divorced his own wife!
So their influence is demonical inspired, and maintained by the influence of the demons. That is the reason they call it demonic! It is self-seeking, confused and evil and they bring other evil with them! This is ultimately the devilish source indicating human cooperation.
In this passage Herod hears of Jesus & thinks of John
the Baptist who had beheaded to please Salome. Mark 6: 21 Then the opportune
day came when Herod on his birthday gave a feast for his nobles, the high
officers, & the chief men of Galilee. 22 And when Herodias’ daughter
herself came in & danced, & pleased Herod & those who sat with him,
the king said to the girl. “Ask me whatever you want, & I will give it to
you.” 23 He also swore to her, “Whatever you ask me, I will give you, up to
half my kingdom.” 24 So she went out & said to her mother, “What shall I
ask?” And she said, “The head of John the Baptist.”
25 Immediately she came in with haste to the king &
asked, saying, “I want you to give me at once the head of John the Baptist on a
platter.” 26 And the king was exceedingly sorry; yet because of the oaths &
because of those who sat with him, he did not want to refuse her. 27
Immediately the king sent an executioner & commanded his head to be
brought. And he went & beheaded him in prison, 28 brought his head on a platter
& gave it to the girl; & the girl gave it to her mother.
At the time of John’s Execution: it was John the Baptist Who had reproved Herod for taking Herodias as his wife, since she was married to his brother Philip. Herodias hated John the Baptist for trying to destroy what she valued but it was Herod who thwarted her plans because he had respected John & had received from him daily: That which is evil always hate the light & the truth it brings!
The influence Herodias gave to Salome was of the flesh and sexual. He had her daughter to dance and please Herod. And him the pushover asked what he might do for her. He swore to her, “Whatever you ask me, I will give you, up to half my kingdom.” This is a bad demonical inspired influence where demons perform!
NO Opinions: No Pushing the Envelope to Get our Way….. Will not be overbearing in conversation: Proverbs 14:16 NKJV A wise man fears and departs from evil, but a fool rages and is self-confident. Proverbs 21:24 NKJV A proud and haughty man---“Scoffer is his name; He acts with arrogant pride. ………….When a person says that they have no fear of evil in them; they do not care about living godly lives. There are no RULES! Many today claim to live as Christians but they do not fear God. They will give no honor or reverence to Him. But we are told to depart from evil!
Proverbs 21:30 NKJV there is no wisdom or understanding or
counsel against the LORD. Deliberately determined to do what is wrong is death
to those who do it; We have seen this come from Adam and Eve and it is
happening in the streets of America today. Deliberately choosing to one’s own
agenda is death indeed! Anything outside what God purposed is one choosing to
themselves in due to the world’s ways. To me that is just dangerous and so
wrong to take yourself and your loved ones down the one-way path to hell and
destruction!
In applying God’s word to our lives, we seek to place His will over our own will. Like Jesus, not our will but yours Father be done on earth as it is in Heaven. In applying that word, we find that which is taking us in strength. Like from Proverbs 19:21 that there are many plans in a man’s heart, nevertheless the LORD’S counsel---that will stand. That we reject the counsel of the ungodly and hear the LORD’S counsel above all others. We also confess that we are instructed even as when we are sleeping and in the morning, that we pray to do what is right rather than follow the leading of our own flesh. We also speak out that the wisdom of this world is foolishness with You, Lord (1 Corinthians 3:19) and may we not buy into it, but keep our eyes on You and have ears to hear Your voice.
May we not be presumptuous in any step we take, we must know
our steps to be ordered of the Lord and not to make adjustments to His word as
we see fit. HE is the healer, the ONE worthy to receive honor and praise for
the great sacrifice to see us get not death, but life everlasting.
Romans 6:21-23 …….What fruit did you have then in the things
of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. 22 But now
having been set free from sin, &
having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, & the end,
everlasting life. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is
eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
A changed heart is a seeking heart, not of worldly things
that are passing away, but a seeking Heart is transparent, it is one that
reflects life in Christ Jesus. Jesus
must not only be Savior , He must also be our Lord. Not being obedient to His
word brings unwelcome consequences. We
are not saved by the admission of guilt, nor are we saved because we attend
church every week. In God’s kindness and mercy, salvation that is true comes
from accurately understanding the cost to save and the cost required to be
saved. May our lives truly exhibit change that is of a holy life abounding in
God’s grace not to sin but to really live a life in Him. Amen.
Are we like Mary, the mother of Jesus? Or are we like Herodias influencing our daughter into the wrong thing of the flesh creature? Are we encouraging our young sons to be men and not drag-queens? Are we encouraging our children to be all God called them in His word?
Each of us are responsible for spiritual warfare and anticipated victories! Yet even in this hour, the presence of evil struggles for survival. We do battle in faith and with faithfulness to the Lord; it is His ultimate kingdom we live in; Holy Spirit is preparing us even now for these kingdom victories today: Daniel 7:21-22 NKJV “I was watching; & the same horn was making war against the saints, & prevailing against them, 22 until the Ancient of Days came, & a judgment was made in favor of the saints of the most High, &the time came for the saints to possess the kingdom. God overrules all other thrones.
Jesus spoke this in Matt. 7:15-23 NKJV “Beware of false
prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous
wolves. 16” You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from
thorn-bushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good
fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.
Matthew 7: 18 A good
tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19” Every tree
that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20
“Therefore by their fruits you will know them.”
Matthew 7: 21 “ Not everyone who says to Me, “Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord Lord, have we not prophesied in Your Name, cast out demons in Your name, & done many wonders in Your name?”23 “And then I will declare to them, “I never knew you; depart from Me you who practice lawlessness!”
