Psalm
34:11-14 NKJV (11) Come, you children, listen to me;
I will
teach you the fear of the LORD.
(12) Who
is the man who desires life,
And
loves many days, that he may see good?
(13)
Keep your tongue from evil,
And your
lips from speaking deceit.
(14)
Depart from evil and do good;
Seek
peace and pursue it.
Now we know this is an interesting thing to speak, "come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD."
And David made it regarding that fear.
Living out of a good conduct appears as the one who is taught about the Lord, is for the one who desires life that is of an abundance of good days. Within that boundary we see one is to keep their tongue from evil , and their lips from speaking deceit. Departing from evil and to do good is the "one who seeks peace and pursues that peace"!
That peace is with God. It is Who He is!
David also wrote Psalm 12! I will place it here and we will look at what he had desired of God as he prayed!
Psalm 12:1-8 nkjv
Help! LORD, for the godly man ceases! For the faithful disappear from
among the sons of men. 2 They speak idly
everyone with his neighbor; with flattering lips and a double heart they
speak. (inconsistent mind: speaking that which is the false, that which gives
no life….they are speaking with insincere words or arrogance…..). 3 May the LORD cut off all flattering
lips, and the tongue that speaks proud things, 4 Who have said, “With our tongue we will prevail; Our lips are our
own; who is lord over us?” ( once godly
now they are self-willed)
5 “For the oppression of the poor,
for the sighing of the needy, Now, I will arise,”
says the
LORD; “ I will set him in the safety for which he yearns.”
6 The words of the LORD are pure
words, Like silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. 7 You shall keep them, O LORD, You
shall preserve them from this generation forever. 8
The wicked prowl on every side, when vileness is exalted among the sons of men.
*From
verse 1 prayer is given out to God for help because the godly man ceases to
exist. David refers to those who speak idle words who flatter with their
tongues and lips bring the false, that which has no life in it and possible
destruction even to death. Godly men cease to exist when they speak insincere
or arrogant speech. When those in
leadership disrespect authority, they use their self-will to excess resulting
in oppressing others.
*From
verse 5 the LORD hears the cry of those who seek His safety. God hears the
words He gave them. That word which is tried in fire shall keep them, to
preserve them forever. But of the wicked they prowl on every side as vileness
is exalted among them. Where immorality is promoted by elected officials, those
civic leaders or media personalities, crime is increased.

God is absolutely trustworthy. Amen!
Our mouths are to speak the good things God gave us in His word. From cover to cover that is the measure of faith. What we have placed in our hearts is that by which we abide and then ask in His name, when we pray.
Learning of God, is learning how He speaks, how He operates by the spirit.
Romans 3:18 is just as true now as it always has been: "There is no fear
of God before their eyes." The reason it must be taught becomes obvious
once we understand that it arises and grows from one's relationship with God.
Of the passage above, we found in Psalm 12 those who were godly at one time, but now have become non-existent. They are now those who oppress others, and God answers those who cry out for help from those who now oppress!
Our speaking must always line up with God's word. Our speaking is to be that which is true and follows that thread through the Old Testament all the way through the New Testament to the book of Revelation. That thread is of Jesus, the Son of God's love who was sent and do what God asked. Our relationship is to be much like Jesus'. Oh no you do not need to be crucified, but we must remember of what was done for us through Him.
The Apostle Paul wrote this in 2 Timothy 2 and verses 1-2. In the Amplified Bible it reads like this: So you, my son be strong (strengthened inwardly) in the grace ( spiritual blessing) that is [to be found only] in Christ Jesus. 2 and the [instructions] which you have heard from me along with many witnesses, transmit and entrust [as a deposit] to reliable and faithful men who will be competent and qualified to teach others also.
Our learning of God is so that we can teach others, not only by the example but by God's Word taught. If we speak only idle words, they flatter but fall to the ground. They accomplish nothing.
And in that thought, one who has known God and chooses to speak empty talk, that which is useless and vain, will find themselves moving into ungodliness.
Placing value on God and that relationship with Him ensures we are strengthened inwardly. We are found in Christ Jesus and the instructions we have embraced, we speak to others.
We must be found on the same page with God. For when we watch and seek, we find what we are looking for, our eyes opened and our hearts receptive, and in that time with Him we draw forth more life, more favor of Him and gain strength to move forward in our lives.
Note at the end of Psalm 12, David wrote this: 8 The wicked prowl on every side, when vileness is exalted among the sons of men. Notice whatever news media you watch, or take note of one who leads maybe as governor from your state. If they move toward that kind of talk, violence will be in their streets. Ungodliness leads to more ungodliness and then one sees the "blame game" begin!
Let's really take the time to abide in Him, and find that beauty that was planned not only for me but you as well. For in seeking Him in His words, we dwell in His presence, active in hearing Him speak, to see His peace manifest in our lives and our children's lives as well. Demonstrate His glory today! BE found with Him and abide everyday so that you can ask what you will in His name and see it done for you, for His glory! Amen!
(John 15:6-9.....6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. 8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. KJV)
