Armor, Shields, Slingshot and Backbone

1 Samuel 17:1-11 NKJV Now the Philistines gathered their armies together to battle, and were gathered at Sochoh, which belongs to Judah; they encamped between Sochoh and Azekah, in Ephes Dammim. 2 And Saul and the men of Israel were gathered together and they encamped in the Valley of Elah and drew up in battle array against the Philistines. 3 The Philistines stood on a mountain on one side, and Israel stood on a mountain on the other side, with a valley between them. 4 And a champion went out from the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, from Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span. 5 He had a bronze helmet on his head, and he was armed with a coat of mail, and the weight of the coat was five thousand shekels of bronze. 6 And he had bronze armor on his legs and a bronze javelin between his shoulders. 7 Now the staff of his speak was like a weaver’s beam, and his iron spearhead weighted six hundred shekels and a shield-bearer went before him. 8 Then he stood and cried out to the armies of Israel, and said to them, “Why have you come out to line up for battle? Am I not a Philistine and you the servants of Saul? Choose a man for yourselves and let him come down to me. 9 If he is able to fight with me and kill me, then we will be your servants. But if I prevail against him and kill him, they you shall be our servants and serve us.” 10 And the Philistine said, “I defy the armies of Israel this day; give me a man, that we may fight together. 11 When Saul and all Israel heard these words of the Philistine, they were dismayed and greatly afraid.

In this we see conflict! In the age of kings and his men, we see Saul and his army scared to face Goliath. The mighty do not seem so mighty against Goliath the giant. They are gathered listening to the critical complaints of a bully! Speaking among themselves and watching the giant parade before them in all his arrogant pride!

Even today, we have such bashing's against those men of war, a bashing and complaints to those men and women who police the community for safety and then continue to see an all out brutality with knives to those who respond to help either by first-aid or that ride to the hospital in an emergency. But the culture has dictated to belittle the man, the leader, the source who should lead. Alas, man is being bashed and pushed aside like Adam in the Garden of Eden. The voice of them should be heard today where chaos is running a muck. And some are choosing to speak up while others pack up and leave. But man should be on the “alert”. Man should take his place and lead others by his influence held by the Holy Spirit of God.

We see David being sent to his brothers on the front-line!

1 Samuel 17:19-54…………… 19 Now Saul and they and all the men of Israel were in the Valley of Elah, fighting with the Philistines.  20 So David rose early in the morning, left the sheep with a keeper, and took the things and went as Jesse had commanded him. And he came to the camp as the army was going out to the fight and shouting for the battle. 21 For Israel and the Philistines had drawn up in battle array, army against army.

          *  David rose early to do the father’s bidding

          *  David left his sheep in the hands of the keeper

          *  David took the food and went as Jesse commanded him

          * David had order in his life; disciplined to obey the commands

22 And David left his supplies in the hand of the supply keeper, ran to the army, and came and greeted his brothers. 23 Then as he talked with them, there was the champion, the Philistine of Gath, Goliath by name, coming up from the armies of the Philistines; and he spoke according to the same words. So David heard them. 24 And all the men of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him and were dreadfully afraid. 25 So the men of Israel said, “Have you seen this man who has come up? Surely he has come up to defy Israel; and it shall be that the man who kills him the king will enrich with great riches, will give him his daughter, & give his father’s house exemption from taxes in Israel.” 26 Then David spoke to the men who stood by him, saying, “What shall be done for the man who kills this Philistine and takes away the reproach from Israel? For who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?” 27 And the people answered him in this manner, saying, “So shall it be done for the man who kills him.”

David was rehearsing what the men of Israel spoke in regard to the three things done for the man who slew Goliath! He, David would see wealth, he would be given the king’s daughter and his father’s house would have exemption from taxes!

1 Samuel 17: 28 Now Eliab his oldest brother heard when he spoke to the men; and Eliab’s anger was aroused against ( his anger was one of arrogance when he spoke of David’s pride and insolence.)David, and he said, “Why did you come down here? And with whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know your pride and the insolence of your heart, for you have come down to see the battle.”

David was anointed. We read it in 1 Samuel 16:13….how Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed David in the presence of his brothers and the Holy Spirit came on him in power) 29 And David said, “What have I done now? Is there not a cause?” 30 Then he turned from him toward another and said the same thing; and these people answered him as the first ones did.

1 Samuel 17:31 Now when the words which David spoke were heard, they reported them to Saul; and he sent for him. 32 Then David said to Saul, "Let no man's heart fail because of him; your servant will go and fight with this Philistine." 33 And Saul said to David, "You are not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him; for you are a youth, and he a man of war from his youth."   This battle was not David’s battle!

34 But David said to Saul, "Your servant used to keep his father's sheep, and when a lion or a bear came and took a lamb out of the flock, 35 I went out after it and struck it, and delivered the lamb from its mouth; and when it arose against me, I caught it by its beard, and struck and killed it. 36 Your servant has killed both lion and bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God." 37 Moreover David said, "The LORD, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.”

Conflict: how people hate the word conflict ….that confrontation; the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear… is viewed in the natural as a conflict of interest. It is a place of violence spoken of you and about you. It involves you and will be the up close and personal, a rolling in the dust. It will attack your character and your voice in what you give regard to as to God, YOUR Lord and to His Word!

WILL have an outcome of something or someone coming against your person, will be about shutting you down and if you are ruled by emotions, then a most probable defeat. Matthew 8:26 But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith? Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea and there was a great calm. When our faith is little, it is not trusting in God. We have no confidence that He will do what He has spoken in His word. Destructive power can appear on land as well as the sea. And it can be loud and boast great things, but anything that kills, steals or destroys is not of God, but of the enemy. And we as believers are to stand against that which has come to kill, steal from us and destroy our lives.

OUR faith is that which resides in God  WHO is our righteousness, & we  know without doubt that His truth prevails in our lives, & we stand firm in the faith voicing freely God and His love to others.

Saul said to David, "Go, & the LORD be with you!" 38 So Saul clothed David with his armor, & he put a bronze helmet on his head; he also clothed him with a coat of mail. 39 David fastened his sword to his armor, & he tried to walk, for he had not tested them. & David said to Saul, "I cannot walk with these, for I have not tested them." So David took them off.

·         Saul decided to cloth David in his own armor, but David had no freedom in that which he was dressed

·         David refused those things and removed them.

·         To do what God has for us is to be dressed in Him: dressed in salvation ( white garment) and to be dressed in the robe of righteousness

1 Samuel 17:40 Then he took his staff in his hand( remember the promises of God); & he chose for himself five smooth stones from the brook, & put them in a shepherd's bag, in a pouch which he had, & his sling was in his hand. & he drew near to the Philistine. 41 So the Philistine came, and began drawing near to David, & the man who bore the shield went before him. 42 And when the Philistine looked about and saw David, he disdained him; for he was only a youth, ruddy & good-looking. 43 So the Philistine said to David, "Am I a dog, that you come to me with sticks?" And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. 44 & the Philistine said to David, "Come to me, & I will give your flesh to the birds of the air & and the beasts of the field!"

·         From verse 41….and the man who bore the shield went before him

·         Can you imagine a giant some 9-11 feet tall requiring an armor bearer, a man who bore a shield who would go before Goliath?

·         I have read it  and re-read it and I am always in awe how a big guy had an armor bearer. What kind of shielding can this short guy do for a 9 plus-footer?

·         All I know is that this armor bearer of Goliath's had a real job before him!

1 Samuel 17:45 Then David said to the Philistine, "You come to me with a sword, with a spear, & with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 This day the LORD will deliver you into my hand, & I will strike you & take your head from you.  And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. 47 Then all this assembly shall know that the LORD does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the LORD's, & He will give you into our hands."

1 Samuel 17:48 So it was, when the Philistine arose & came and drew near to meet David, that….  David hastened & ran toward the army to meet the Philistine. 49 Then David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone; and he slung it and struck the Philistine in his forehead, so that the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth. 50 So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone, and struck the Philistine and killed him. But there was no sword in the hand of David. 51 Therefore David ran and stood over the Philistine, took his sword and drew it out of its sheath and killed him, and cut off his head with it. And when the Philistines saw that their champion was dead, they fled. 52 Now the men of Israel & Judah arose & shouted, & pursued the Philistines as far as the entrance of the valley & to the gates of Ekron. & the wounded of the Philistines fell along the road to Shaaraim, even as far as Gath & Ekron. 53 Then the children of Israel returned from chasing the Philistines, & they plundered their tents. 54 And David took the head of the Philistine & brought it to Jerusalem, but he put his armor in his tent. NKJV

·         Now my question: where did the armor bearer go when Goliath went down

·         I thought the armor bearer was to be available always, especially in events, in activity the armor bearer should be on the spot, in the scene, but I find no place where he is mentioned when Goliath goes down and ……then dies by the sword.

In Facing a Philistine!  Philistine is a word meaning  “unclean spirit”. Unclean spirits can manifest in different ways but one main quick attack is through trying to “silent mouths” that is to shut a mouth so that it will not speak for God.  The open door was the encounter with Goliath and it was through Eliab’s anger he testified and confirmed his hate when he told David that David had insolence and pride. In Goliath, we see one wanting to shut their mouths & scare the nation of Israel away!

We have demonic spirit doing the same thing today through people just like David saw back in his day! You have those of an unclean spirit targeting your testimony of victory and God’s goodness in your life.

Those who follow truth and operate in it are being harassed by those who love lies and live in them. We cannot watch our weather man any more as a T.V. station who promotes lies now none of their reports even come close to truth including their weather report! We are relying on God for our own weather report these days!

Another  manifested form of an unclean spirit that pertains to and is of a performing nature, is like that of Goliath parading around on the merit of  his size… and his big mouth.  Some 9'-11' feet in height must have helped Goliath accomplish something…Remember in Canaan that the very giants Joshua and Caleb saw were evident indeed? But maybe it was just his big mouth that was the chaos and fire-starter for hate that rallied people that day!

Have you seen people who are there just to perform and not minister anything? No life, and no good word comes out of them, but they speak of me, myself and I …. Just saw a woman make voice to the vaccine mandate. She gave her opinion of it while  holding her 2 year grand-daughter in her lap. This “grandmother” hissed out venom that she was getting the vaccine and then get to all the people to infect them to make them sick. (Remember now that the vaccine gives a spiking protein throughout the body of the person who has taken it. They can shed that protein for six weeks infecting others!)  She wanted freedom and she said she was going to get it by infection. Yikes! She said it was enough and it was time this “thing” was  all over. Well, most certainly it is over. But it is over and done in and through those who trust the Lord and His leading by His grace and His love.

IN Scripture unclean means "to be the defiled, to be the polluted, unwholesome," … readily refers to foods that are unfit, defilement can be of a religious character, and moral or spiritual impurity.  In the New Testament we find a spiritual application: in it is listed as uncleanness or moral defilement with fornication plus other sins as "works of the flesh in reading from Galatians 5:19-21.

Are we behaving as we gather together with other believer’s?  Behaving in an environment focused on God and praise to Him that can cause some people to shrink back into that which many seek to find as a place of comfort and the hidden. But our love for others should be seen.  And our voice should give heed to that which is of God for life and not of the enemy for death!

Are we waving at God as we pass by on our journey of this life, or do we really stop, visit, and have some time of serious talk, some laughter and always a few tears with our Father God. Behaving is about allowing the Holy Spirit to have His way in us either in the home, in the prayer closet, in public as to shopping and greeting others and even within a church service. As the righteous we are committed to truth and no lies. We are committed to God’s word and no changing His word. And as a child of God, we follow no one but the Lord. And when He tells us to go, we GO and if we are not take anything deadly into our bodies, even then we are to obey always by His truth and His will in our lives being done. If not, then we are all lost without our Lord and going to hell. I have seen it on earth so far and not fond of where most will find their home. Hold on for this ride is going to be good indeed and some will enjoy God's peace on it and others will only smell smoke and feel the heat of the flames of fire!

Romans 13:11-14…..the hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. 12 The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. 13 Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality& debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. 14 Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, & do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature.  NIV

David spoke in verse 47. 47 Then all this assembly shall know that the LORD does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the LORD's, and He will give you into our hands."

And in verse 51….David runs over, takes the sword from the sheath of Goliath and uses it against him.

David’s faith was in God: He went in His Name, the God of the armies of Israel

David was speaking against that whom defied God

David affirmed that the LORD would deliver the enemy into his hand

David also included the entire camp of Philistines for destruction to be food for the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth

David understood, that the “battle is the Lord’s.”

Every time he took up his shepherd’s staff, David could read the promise God had for him from it. Marked with every good thing God had done for him like a journal, even his own staff marked good things done by God. David walked with the promise in his heart. David walked forward and his path included a giant.  Deuteronomy 31:6 in the Amplified Bible, “ be strong, courageous and firm; fear not nor be in terror before them, for it is the Lord your God Who goes with you; He will not fail you or forsake you.”

The courageous do not have to pretend. They have this undaunted courage. They have no fear, they have no discouragement. They are armed with the Presence of God!

In this hour, all men stand in faith of God, all believers stand in readiness to speak by faith a confidence that God is with them and from the willing heart they are disciplined in prayer and of the spoken Word! God our Father  has given us His Holy Spirit to not fear.  He has given us power, love, and a sound mind to prevail in all situations. Holding fast the pattern of sound words & always cultivating a relationship with His Holy Spirit that propels us into the power of God for signs and wonders.

John 4:23-24........ 23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."    NKJV

The more infusion of His Spirit into our lives, the greater of God’s love flowing through us. The true believer is one who manifests the love of God and moves in that love toward others. It is always residing and abiding in His truth, not moving from that truth, using the weapons He has provided for us in worship to Him that is a love revealed. Is our love showing to reveal God on earth? Are we positioned to take our land of freedom that is of the Lord and not of any enemy?

Where will you stand when the smoke settles and the dust clears for our battle is not ours but the Lord who is true and prevails, for He is the power and He is the might!

Operating Against Emotions

Are our emotions like wild horses?

Our emotions should not rule us. They make bad masters! And running hot and cold, wearing emotions on our sleeves, melting at the first hint of confrontation only proves a great disaster in results. Are our emotions like wild horses running wild? Was hearing a testimony of this gentleman yesterday and as he spoke of seeing heaven I began to see the garments of those in heaven. As he continued of the worship of heaven, was reminded of scripture of the garments a believer is dressed in.

Like for salvation and that robe of righteousness: there is listed two garments found in Isaiah 61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, My soul shall be joyful in my God; for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness. As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. 11 For as the earth brings forth its bud, as the garden causes the things that are sown in it to spring forth, So the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.

So here we have two garments. Salvation would be like a white tunic or like such worn to feet. But the garment of righteousness is a robe. That righteousness is that “repentant heart” that keeps coming to God to hear and obey. The repentant chooses to live by faith and not by self. The righteous know who the LEADER is. They know the KING of kings and LORD of lords! That robe is one we read of in the son who returns home after spending all his money on wine, women and song! You can find that in Luke 15:11-24.

Ever hear that phrase: “now be kind like Jesus!” Jesus was merciful but Jesus was authority and He knew from whom He had been given authority. ( John 5:27 and John 17:2) Many people enter the door by salvation. They go through Jesus and step just inside the safe zone and there they stop. But the Lord will ask what we did with that salvation we received! And what will be our answer to that question when asked? If we just stop and do nothing with our salvation, but does that speak about us?

God is the Refuge of the Righteous: Psalm 94: 1-7 NKJV O LORD to whom vengeance belongs----O God, to whom vengeance belongs, shine forth! 2 Rise up, O Judge of the earth; render punishment to the proud. 3 LORD, how long will the wicked, how long will the wicked triumph? 4 They utter speech, &  speak insolent things; all the workers of iniquity boast in themselves. 5 They break in pieces Your people, O LORD, & afflict Your heritage. 6 They slay the widow & the stranger, & murder the fatherless. 7 Yet they say, “The LORD does not see, nor does the God of Jacob understand.

“Oh Lord rise up against those against YOU!” 1 John 2:15-16   NKJV  15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, & the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.

We are warned in I John 2:15-16 to not love the world of Satan's creation because it is a huge reservoir of influences to accomplish our own ambitions and not God’s plan.  Worldly Ambitions Affects Everything we do including Prayer: Luke 18: 11-12 Amp. Bible "The Pharisee took his stand ostentatiously and began to pray thus before and with himself:  'God, I thank You that I am not like the rest of men—extortioners (robbers) , swindlers [unrighteous in heart and life ], adulterers, or even  like this tax collector here. 12  I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I gain (or possess)'"

The Pharisee was blinded & his spiritual condition suffered. He could not see God nor hear His voice! He did not recognize that the kingdom had come to him!

Jeremiah 49:16  “Your fierceness has deceived you, the pride of your heart, O you who dwell in the clefts of the rock who hold the height of the hill! Though you make your nest as high as the eagle, I will bring you down from there,” says the LORD.  One of pride's most destructive fruits is self-deception. It is that blindness to one's own spiritual condition. It strongly tends to produce a sense of infallibility, Inerrancy, and yes, Unreliability in us!

We are given these nuggets of truth in the Book of Proverbs: Proverbs 13: 6 NKJV Righteousness guards him whose way is blameless.

Proverbs 11:4 b But righteousness delivers from death. 5 The righteousness of the blameless will direct his way aright. But the wicked will fall by his own wickedness.

Proverbs 11:8 The righteous is delivered from trouble, and it comes to the wicked instead.

When will real true Believers willing step out of the crowd of cowards and pioneer a path forward with divine wisdom, supernatural strategies, and offer the world transforming love that actually does conquer a multitude of sin?  Many just walk a path with blurred perspectives on what sin is. And they most certainly have no concept of true love really is!

We are to understand that Conviction is not Condemnation. When Jesus spoke with the woman who was caught in adultery (John 8:1-11) He said, “Does no one condemn you? Neither do I condemn you. Go your way and sin NO MORE!” Did you catch that?

Jesus tells her that He does not condemn her though He makes a point to tell her to go and sin no more. How many of you know that when God convicts us, He actually empowers us to “go and sin no more.” Get it straight, knowing the difference between right and wrong is considered wisdom, not bigotry and damnation, as the world defines it. It is not demeaning a race of people of their attitudes of working, earning that living to support family and make a difference in a community and the nation of which they live.

To live in peace is following like the rules of the roadway! To live in peace with others is obeying what is placed before you as in education: reading, writing, math and science. It is learning what kills and to stay away from it. Lying kills and so do abortions. If we dummy down education for our youth, the future children as tomorrows adults, will they be the responsible or reside in sexual perversion and sickness and disease of such horrific sexual exploits? Should our future be exploited to only use the flesh and not the mind and heart to know the Lord?  How can a “human right” deliver another human to death? But we see it here when people lie and call an actual child in the womb a mass of tissue? REALLY! Or when school leadership is calling for a child of 5 to know pornography! WHAT???

Brutality is evident. And that brutality is seen in classrooms, in screen time and other times too!  It is moving toward normalizing a brutalization of a life of another. Any misguided feelings will lead you down a brick road to a man pretending to be the great Oz!

It was like seeing this pole with an electric box used to move something in the sewer system. Yes, I was watching the news. And this occurred in another state. What captured my attention was all "those snakes". And they were big ones too climbing this pole.

Now my husband had to explain it to me. This was in another state in the south! In the video shown, these bull snakes were trying to get up this tall tower of a pole to get at what the media thought to the power box. Yeah, that was wrong!

My husband explained where this is located ( the electrical box)opens into that part of upper sewer system and the decay of “such stuff” was most likely drawing the mice and big rats to eat there. So the top part of pole above the ground was probably, yes full of rats and mice. So the bull snakes, some eight feet long were climbing up this pole to get to the big rats. Yikes! That then made much more sense to me. But to see big snakes hanging on an electoral box did not make sense to me at all! Normal for the snakes was rats indeed. Their behavior was evident in their ravenous appetite. So too, renaming sin, calling evil good and good evil is a path leading to a bankrupt life and mind. It is a cesspool where morals are only fit for the rats! ( and large snakes)

In other words, forming a new moral code out of misguided feelings or sinful temptations pacifies society's conscience and creates a "normal" out of behavior that would otherwise be seen as overtly wrong. Renaming sin is a bottomless moral cesspool. Where is the line ever drawn? Certainly, we should mourn over all the corruption, the wickedness that seems to infiltrate even into the most unlikely places like board rooms, school classrooms, rehabilitation centers & even day-cares for babies and toddlers. Are our hearts revealing God’s character for these injustices in the land of plenty?

Will He find us distressed & repulsed by what is displayed on television screens or on the wide screens that are displayed on the major squares & business hubs of cities like New York City, Las Vegas or even Dallas?   For if we are those who are called by His name, set apart to do exploits, in Him we find and become what He purposed, that we, yes you and I would be a people dressed in robes of righteousness to display His kingdom that has come.

Turning a blind eye to any sin is not merciful and never will be! Mercy extended is to him who by an act of adultery is given mercy. But for the person who says adultery is right always, then mercy is not merciful because it is only for those with a repentant heart who turn from adultery and speak they were wrong to do that. There must be that confession of being wrong of whatever is not of God and His mercy or His merciful heart. Without repentance, one is only a pretender. They say all is okay.  And so they continue to pretend! The sinner who kills that unborn child, or the person who tells the homosexual he is okay in his sin, is offering pretense and emotions. They are turning a blind eye to protect the sinner’s feelings. We are to adjust to God, He does not adjust to us! He is God! He is the Possessor of the heavens and the earth. He changes not!

Jesus walked among those who lived in Israel. Many knew Him as the carpenter’s son, but He was not the poor. His step-father Joseph was a stone mason and was known as far and as wide where nations connected knew the stone mason who could do the job at that time. Ever seen any of that wonderful mosaic floor patterns, walls of mosaic patterns, or exotic hallways of color and style that has been uncovered in the holy land? God would not send His only Son into the hands of a nobody, of someone destined for the streets for each of us has purpose and as God sent His Son to him who would raise Jesus up to be the responsible and the reliable where work is noble and honor is given when truth is found and lived.

Even today, archaeologists have uncovered where Jesus' home was located close to the sea of Galilee.  It was not a tiny shack! Jesus told us that it is the truth you know that sets you free. It will be what is given to our hearts in truth where understanding of God’s words help us to possess the land, to possess that place in which He has called us to stand. (Leviticus 20:24) It is to be a place of milk and honey not of sewers and phoneys!

Righteousness delivers us from death! It delivers us to a land that is holy unto the Lord. Righteous behavior delivers us to pathways of peace. And it delivers us to being noble and courageous, not cowards caving under some brutal and hateful attitude of a few who are against God. Where are the people who believe in God, who cling to the hope in Jesus Christ who really understand the “sign of the times”?  I am in awe that today, modern Christianity has become more about sanctioning sin and calling it unity than it is about God or His kingdom. God forbid someone ever feel the presence of conviction and experience the uncomfortable tension that comes with the weight of sin.

For certainly sin is crouched at the doorway! And many believer’s must be walking daily with the Lord and not standing by the doorway pushing, shoving and jockeying for positions. Walking with the Lord, is a daily thing, it is daily revealing in our hearts openly to Him. Talking with Him is not “what’s up Doc”? but it is what is standing at the doorway Lord? God certainly told Cain that sin was crouching at his doorway! This is found in Genesis 4:7. Cain had no thought of repentance. He only wanted revenge. And that is where many people lie in their emotions and thought process....not to repent but take revenge on another because he may have something the weak emotion led person does not have.

WE should ask: "Am I moving forward or stuck in drama city where the patrons care more about skin color than character of heart"! Yes, we pray for them, but also pray for laborers who live in those areas to cross the path of someone who will give them God’s love and His truth that brings change. Lets speak truth and not lies or half-truths! . Sin is sin, and beating people to get an agenda is not life-giving nor life sustaining. It is only death that leads to more death and we have seen a lot of that lately.

It was Jesus, the spotless Lamb of God who did not agree with sin. He listened to the voice of His Father. He heard and revealed the noble heart. Will we?

Will we take a stand for nobility and stop being deluded. Or will we continue to operate out of our emotions?  May we all see with the eyes of God what is shaping our culture and dividing families this day. May our children and grandchildren not drown in a cesspool created by silent Christians and  absentee prayer people. Today we must stand against our emotions. May we not be controlled by depression, anger, anxiety, jealousy, hopelessness, fear, or suicide.  May we choose to move away from fake media and hear God so that we are not pulled down with the fraud that causes one to struggle. Lord, we thank You for the words to say and pray for others that will bring life.

Even now we thank You that we are free to share deepest feelings to those qualified to help. Father, thank You for the gift of laughter and ability to find humor in even serious situations this day and within this hour. Holy Spirit teach us to take our eyes off circumstances and trust in You, regardless of how we are feeling. WE give thanks for that patience to possess soul and the ability to take charge of it (Luke 21:19) .

We believe we are set from negative emotions this day in Jesus name. Amen.

Angels, Words, and Judgment

White Horse and Rider: Revelation 6..politics and vaccines

Psalm 91 NKJV
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

Almighty: El Shadday

1.   Seen in Genesis 17:1 ( Abram called out); Exodus 6:3

2.   Meaning the unconquerable; God’s greatness in strength or His everlasting nature

Psalm 91:2 I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”

3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. 4 He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. 5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, 6 nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

7 A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you. 8 Only with your eyes shall you look, and see the reward of the wicked”

9 “ Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, Even the Most High your dwelling place, 10 No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; 11 For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.

12 “In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot  against a stone, 13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.”

14 “Because he has set his love upon Me, there will I deliver him. I will set him on high because he has known My name. 15 He shall call upon Me and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. 16 With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation.”

In the Place of Trust: Confiding in God Who is to be our Refuge

1.   Dwelling place

2.   Dwelling together: as in marriage: that is we are counseled by Him, spend time hearing Him speak His words to us as we read it; loving that we have a place to go when the storm clouds gather, when things do not go as we thought they would and when health is not strong!

3.   In His mercy we have a continual flow of healing for our minds, our will, our emotions and our bodies.

4.   Pestilence from attacks like plagues (Zika virus or coronavirus) ; Ebola virus in Africa

5.   Angels can strike a person: Acts 12:23 for Herod did not give glory to God; angel stood by Peter in prison …struck him on the side or awaken him

Reminded that God takes no pleasure in wickedness:

Psalm 5:3-7 My voice You shall hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning I will direct it to You. 4 For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness, nor shall evil dwell with YOU. 5 The boastful shall not stand in Your sight; You hate all workers of iniquity. 6 You shall destroy those who speak falsehood; the LORD abhors the blood thirsty and deceitful man. 7 but as for me, I will come into Your house in the multitude of Your mercy; in fear of You will worship toward Your holy temple.

1.   Worship toward His holiness: His righteousness

2.   Haggai 2:15-19 NKJV ‘And now carefully consider from this day forward; from before stone was laid upon stone in the temple of the LORD----16 ‘since those days, when one came to a heap of twenty ephahs, there were but ten; when one came to the wine vat to draw out fifty baths from the press, there were but twenty. 18 consider now from this day of the ninth month, from the day that the foundation of the LORD’S temple was laid----consider it: 19 ‘Is the seed still in the barn?’ As yet the vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate and the olive tree have not yielded fruit.

But from this day I will bless you.’” ….walking in righteousness toward God

3.   God’s unmerited favor toward us …we have sanctuary

4.   In this work God has called us to is this: that it is to be the priority that it is seeing the foundation laid in everyday living; and within that the Lord’s blessings begin to flow in and through our lives.

Jesus gave His angels charge over us: Psalms 91:9-16

1.   Nothing shall hurt the believer: though trouble &  affliction come .shall not come to harm him

2.   Rightly knowing God: we will set our love Him and not on things

3.   They will pray constantly with fervency reminding Him of their walk with Him

4.   The Promises of God will flow from the believer’s heart: Luke 4:3-4 NKJV 3 & the devil said to Him, “if You are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.” 4 But Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’”

5.   We are to continually look up: not to the situation or the bad report, but look up and see who walked out of the tomb….the tomb of defeat to victory and gave us a new life in HIM!

6.   We speak God’s word & the angels carry out what the spoken word is meant to do! Psalm 103:20 bless the LORD, all you His hosts, You ministers of His who do His pleasure.

7.   Angels serve to bless (worship  & serve God), to do His word on Earth, heed His voice, minister as prescribed in Hebrews 1:14 and they willing do God’s pleasure.

8.   Heb. 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation? Angels revolve around the ministry of the church Jesus established. They advance His ministry on earth as it is in heaven.

Psalm 91:12: 12 “In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot  against a stone, 13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.”

1.   Luke 4:9-12 NKJV 9 Then he brought Him to Jerusalem, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here.” 10”For it is written: He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you,’ 11” and, in their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone.” 12 And Jesus answered and said to him, “it is has been said, ‘You shall not tempt the LORD your God.’

2.   Deuteronomy 6:16-20,23, 25 NKJV 16 You shall not tempt the LORD your God as you tempted Him in Massah. 17 “You shall diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God, His testimonies and His statutes which He has commanded you, 18 And you shall do what is right and good in the sight of the LORD, that it may be well with you, and you may go in to possess the good land of which the LORD swore to your fathers, 19 to cast out all your enemies from before you, as the LORD has spoken. 20 “When your son asks you in time to come, saying, ‘What is the meaning of the testimonies, the statutes, and the judgments of which the LORD our God has commanded you?”

3.   23 then He brought us out from there, that He might bring us in, to give us the land of which He sword to our fathers.  25 then it will be righteousness for us , if we are careful to observe all these commandments before the LORD our God, as He has commanded us.

Psalm 78:40-53  NKJV 40 How often they provoked Him in the wilderness, and grieved Him in the desert! 41 Yes, again and again they tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel.

1.   Tempted :trying to test God; checking to see how God will respond; But we are reminded by David who asked God to test David’s own heart.

2.   It is not right for man to test God; doing that is limiting God and His power in our lives

3. People today in prayer will tell God how to answer their prayer. They are set to give details to Him in how to respond to their dilemma!

42 Yes, again & again they tempted God, & limited the Holy One of Israel. 42 They did not remember His power; the day when He redeemed them from the enemy, 43 when He worked His signs in Egypt, & His wonders in the field of Zoan; 44 Turned their rivers into blood, & their streams, that they could not drink. 45 He sent swarms of flies among them, which devoured them, & frogs which destroyed them. 46 He also gave their crops to the caterpillar, & their labor to the locust. 47 He destroyed their vines with hail, & their sycamore trees with frost. 48 He also gave up their cattle to the hail, & their flocks to fiery lightning. 49 He cast on them the fierceness of His anger, wrath, indignation & trouble, By sending angels of destruct among them.  50 He made a path for His anger; He did not spare their soul from death, but gave their life over to the plague, 51 & destroyed all the firstborn in Egypt, the first of their strength in the tents of Ham, 52 But HE made His own people go forth like sheep, & guided them in the wilderness like a flock; 53 & He led them safely so that they did not fear; but the sea overwhelmed their enemies.

1.   Remembering when God redeemed us; the day we repented and received salvation

2.   We are not overwhelmed by enemies and not certainly not to a "cult" in vaccines! The apostles to the mandates of a cult always teach to follow their whim into that existence. But Jesus brought us peace in Him and not in some drug!

Jesus Spoke this: Matthew 26:53-56  KJV 53 Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? 54 But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?  55 In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.

56 But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.

Yes, the disciples broke and run when the enemy appeared in the Garden! They came to take Jesus away. And that is how the enemy works today, he comes into your quiet home and speaks thoughts that he believes we will take and run! Remember those flaming arrows: we can stop them with God's word!

Luke 24:18-29 KJV 18 And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days?   19 And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:  20 And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him.  21 But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, today is the third day since these things were done.

22 Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre; 23 And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive.  24 And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not.    25 Then he said unto them, O fools, & slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: 26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, & to enter into his glory?  27 & beginning at Moses & all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself. 28 & they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: & he made as though he would have gone further.  29 But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, & the day is far spent & he went in to tarry with them.

1.   The righteous can see angels and can hear them

2.   These people had thought for Jesus whom they loved & sought to know where He was at

Angels Minister to Those Who Speak God’s Word: Matthew 4:1 1 then the devil left Him and behold, angels came and ministered to Him. (also seen in Luke 4)

1.   Angels: angelos: (ang-e-loss) spiritual heavenly attendants ..see Psalm 104:4, Luke 1:19

2.   Functioning as ministers of the Lord sent to Earth

3.   They execute His purposes and make them known to men. Daniel 10:12 Gabriel appeared to Daniel “ I have come because of your words”

What words do we speak? Are they the words Jesus spoke to His disciples? Do we keep a watchfulness over what comes out of our mouths?

In our call to the kingdom that is come, we repent, and believe with a trust in God that He will fulfill His promises. Jesus came to save the “lost” and that was us, but we now must reach others understanding that by prayer and speaking God’s truth that angels are hearing and will go with that word of God and God will see it accomplished to where it is sent. Amen!

More important words are given in Revelation:  Revelation 3:12 NKJV   12 He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name.

Anyone want to stand as a pillar within your home, within your community in the land of which you live and abide?

Revelation 3:21 NKJV  21 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

These are to warn and yes remind that which is important to Christ, that at the end, pressures will mount. What was a mild year some five years ago is now mounting to the more intense, turn up the heat, forces are raging and not all of it is for good but for evil. Today, we can clearly see that Satan is lining up all of his forces, all of his armies, all of his weaponry yes, to persecute those in Christ Jesus. And this persecution will be to such an extent that the whole earth will be thrown into convulsions, the likes of which this world has never seen!

Even today, we remark we have never seen anything like it! Where are the voices who stand with Christ Jesus in this hour?

Christ, our Shepherd and like any good leader who sees what is coming, will take steps to prepare His people. He will focus their attention on what is most important to survive and grow during that period. This is why He talks about what He does to the churches in the messages in Revelation 2 and 3.

Words spoken, given to prompt the hearer to do! Revelation 2:10 is to not fear. "Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. 11 He who has an ear, let him  hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death."

Revelation 2:5 "repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lamp-stand from its place-----unless you repent.

There are two fires, or two lights, that which is of the Lord and that which should be in us. But if we have lost our first love, then we should repent of losing that love for Him.

Revelation 2:16 "Repent, or else I will come to you quickly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth. Yes, the sword of His mouth, His WORDS . Christ's words judge!!!

Revelation 2:25 BUT hold fast what you have till I come. 26 And he who overcomes and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations-----

The over-comer will share in Christ's triumph over evil and evildoers. Jesus will begin His messianic rule and we can be seated with Him!

Revelation 3:2 to be watchful and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before God.

Revelation 3:3 ...hold fast and repent. therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief and you will not know what hour I will come upon you.

Again those from Revelation 3:12 and 3:21!

Revelation 3:12 NKJV   12 He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name.

Revelation 3:21 NKJV  21 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

These are to warn and yes remind that which is important to Christ as He watches over us!

Titus 1:16 says, "They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified." Titus 2:1 But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine: 2 that the older men be sober, reverent, temperate, sound in faith, in love, in patience; 3 the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things----

( never understand how those who divide the thought within the Bible, but verse 16 goes with Titus 2:1)

Where is the heart is in what they "profess"? But Christ knows what we are doing. I know your works. Does the heart profess loyalty to Christ? Are they proving to be the conscientious and faithful?

Many believe that we do not have to qualify for the Kingdom of God. It is true that works cannot justify us; they cannot wipe out our sins. However, it does not follow that, because they cannot save us, they are of no importance. Recall that James uses Abraham, the father of the faithful—the father of the loyal, the conscientious—as the illustration that faith without works is dead! Living faith works! Jesus says, "I know your works"!

Of all that is written, specifically in the New Testament, Revelation 2 and 3 are the examination of our works. And in that examination, is it revealing a love for Christ in our words, in that which appears as unto the Lord in what we are doing. Colossians 3:23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.

It should sound like those words Christ spoke about His believers: that we are salt and light, that we hear Him, and know that the Holy Spirit is with us to guide us and tell us things to come. For certainly Matthew 5:21-30 reveals that murder begins in the heart as does adultery. As marriage is sacred and binding to a couple being wed together as husband and wife, no other should enter into this relationship other than the Lord himself. And in marriage, one should be going that extra mile when one spouse is sickened or close to death. If a spouse has compelled his wife to work, then no one is to come between what the husband speaks. Within all this, we are to love our enemies and pray for them. Still those we pray for seem to be failing greatly, but God is forever God and He is faithful! We walk, we pray, and we continue to place our hope in His word and His strength and not in angels. We speak words of faith and believe them to come to pass. We keep going because Jesus is life to us!

Revelation 2 and 3 are an examination of our works because Christ wants to see whether we believe Him! Living faith exhibits itself in works! It is a test of our faith. If we are faithful, we will be working: overcoming Satan, the world, and our self-centeredness. That is what works accomplish.

Words propel you either toward life or to death! There are great lights: the sun, the moon, the stars, but there is the light of Christ and in us, we should be blazing a trail of His words so others will know about Him, and want to hear what He has spoken. It is a choice for right words and in those right words we are directed into the light of Christ and glory of the Father. Words of truth will always light up the world to see the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ! May we participate speaking words that reveal where our heart resides to His praise and to His glory! Amen!

Feeding on Foolishness

FOOLS MUST BE DEALT WITH DIFFERENTLY THAN THOSE WHO ARE WISE. We cannot deal with all men in the same way. Our response to people must be ...
