Whatever You Do, I Pray JOY TO FILL YOUR HEART..

I had read this recently on a card and started to cry.  "Whatever you do, I pray joy to fill your heart...because you deserve the blessings...............! Now there was much more in the written sentiment, but my heart keyed in on the "joy".

How beautiful? Experiencing that joy of God to fill our hearts in such a way that is never taken away.
God's joy is one that is of Him, all supernatural and never fades away, never leaves, but always becomes more in our lives. It is tangible! When we suffer from losing a loved one, to finding out a relationship so broken and abandoned to grieve of the that loss..........all hope seems to appear on a distant land and far from our reach. But in keeping step with God, we venture into a land that is overflowing with His goodness that is a place of joy, peace, love, longsuffering..........and it all comes from the Holy Spirit who resides in us when receiving Jesus as Lord.

I love watching butterflies. I think on them today as I was reminded by my Father in heaven of the beauty they bring in those lazy days of warmth and sunshine. I was reminded how they seemed to dance across the yard of green and find all those delicious flowers calling them to come. In the beauty of all that color of the butterfly and called to color of fragrance and life........I was reminded how God our Father calls us daily to His life of love that overflows with much color. His life of love to be displayed on our hearts was to be that daily reminder He gave His greatest and best gift for us. He gave the Ransom for our release from an enemy who hates us.

I wrote on joy before. And in one writing I had put together that which Paul had written about the sadness when Jesus was going to the Cross. What the disciples experienced was that which was of heaviness in losing their Rabbi, their mentor, their Leader. But in that walk to the Cross, we gained victory and the way into heaven through the precious shed blood of a Savior.
The disciples thought "their" king  had come, and the "suffering Messiah" had come, but not to take His throne at that time. He came to get "things rolling" in that direction for the plan of God to be heard and implemented!

Galatians 5:19-26
19 Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality,

20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions,

21 envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

24 Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.

26 Let us not become boastful, challenging one another, envying one another. NASU

The man who is caught up in the flesh nature will be the one who is jealous, have those outbursts of anger, disputes, sensuality, sorcery, and strife. It will not be a person to be around. They make life miserable for many.

The fruit of the Spirit........the Holy Spirit living in us is producing (if we allow Him to do it) His love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, against such things where there is no law.
In Romans 14, we find Paul again talking about what is the "kingdom of God". It was not about eating and drinking, but what is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Read on:

Romans 14:17-19
17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

18 For he who in this way serves Christ is acceptable to God and approved by men.

19 So then we pursue the things which make for peace and the building up of one another.
NASU

I do not think Jesus had a "bad day". I believe He had all He needed from God in Word of the Scriptures and through His prayer time with Him. He was about seeing the kingdom of God begin.
I am certain in Jesus' time that He had no thought of a New Year's Resolution!
I had seen this meaning on resolution: an action to which a problem is solved, or a dispute is settled or a contentious matter has ended in satisfactory manner.

Did we mention back in 2015 that we would get the kids in school and serve the Lord completely? But alas, school started then came the holidays, right, and then oops, New Year! How fast time travels and we never have time to pack for the fast pace momentum of everyday life.
In the fast paced, qualifying for that Indy race, we forget what race we are in. Well, I am in the "one to get a raise in pay this year" or " I am in the race to lose 20 pounds this year" or " I want to study some more in college, but kids are starting in a couple of years, " or " I desire to take a vacation, but have no idea where to go where I could rest."
Then another year has passed!

But seeking the kingdom of God and His righteousness.........is finding His holiness, justice, and faithfulness..............just to mention a few. It takes discipline to gain that prize. It takes discipline to move away from the table when a meal is finished and eat NO DESSERT! It takes discipline to be faithful to commit what we have spoken we will do. It takes a disciplined life to follow Jesus, being prepared to follow His every command and to do it.

Today, we should invite the Holy Spirit in..........to take His view of how we are not doing it right, ask for His guidance and then we are to follow through and do it. That would mean in the eating department, as well as in the shopping and spending department! When we ask the Holy Spirit to control our lives, by the Spirit of God that is love, joy, peace, self-control, we are the enabled to walk within our homes with a clean heart. A loved one can die suddenly, but where we reside in that will either be in condemnation or in God's peace and freedom, that place of joy that is free.
It is a place that is the kind, the patient, not excluding ourselves at the end of day, say that we are tired..........and move to our little cubicle to be "the sad", "the gloomy" and the "depressed". We are to make it through our days with joy on our lips and a song in our hearts. When our spirits are broken because of sorrow............well it is sorrow for everybody in that place, but the enjoyment of a continual feast in the Word of God brings a merry heart. (Proverbs 15:15)
When we share our evenings with our family members we are choosing to dwell with our families in love and not because of some inner turmoil brought on by something that happened 20 years ago in my life or your life.
When we choose to give of ourselves, we are choosing to connect with people, and especially family............not the people in the job place (unless they are your ministry) still your own family who you delivered into your home by carrying for nine months is to be foremost of that which we are in the family: like the mother of said child/children and to be the wife who told her husband on their wedding day, "till death do we part"..........! No as the wife, and the mother who birthed child/children is that woman who will bring joy, laughter and fun, and not hardship, pain, and a sullen, no talking grumpy woman( or even in the case of the husband)..
One thing I pray for us as a family is that my husband and I would always have a spirit of joy and keep us from growing into a grumpy sort of people.
I always want to be those people who show up with a joy that is contagious. I want others to know we have been with God and how pleased He is with us.

Are we waiting for fall to arrive……..and kids go back to school……. Will the world’s schedule always interfere with God’s plan for us? Or are we waiting for the sun to shine, the wind to stop blowing, and summer temps to return before we can do anything for the Lord? Will there always be a lion in the street, and the Jordan always be overflowing its banks?

You will not gain joy that is of God by Facebooking. You will not gain His joy by reading the latest best seller of self-help books. YOU only gain His joy, by spending time with HIM, loving Him and gain His perspective on your life. For there will always be some disaster looming, some dark thunder clouds and loud noises, but our contentment is to be in the Lord.  Whatever may be flooding, spilling out of the washer, running down the kitchen cabinet, or making you stand for five more minutes on your feet, our true joy is that which is walking with the Lord and to esteem others.
Anointing is that which  breaks bondages, breaks the yokes, and brings freedom.

In the glory of God, His presence comes in...............AND BLIND EYES SEE, THE LAME WALK,...........THINGS CHANGE INSTANTLY. There is no virtue leaving our bodies as we lay hands on the sick or pray ..........but when the glory, His Presence comes in............it is in His undeniable power and strength.

Father, in Jesus name, our consolation is in Christ, and that comfort of love, fellowship of the Spirit is in the joy when we are like-minded, and having the same love, and of one accord.(Philippians 2:1-11)
Father, we desire to be those who are like-minded, having that lowliness of mind to esteem others better than ourselves. Help us Holy Spirit to put others first.
Help us to put our families first, and those of the body of Christ. Holy Spirit show us those who we should esteem and have found favor in Your sight.
May our lives reflect those days of summer of bright sunshine and warm temps. May our lives look like a soft gentle moving butterfly in motion that is of the power of God and not be the display of the rainy, cold, wind swept day of gloomy darkness. When we arrive at a certain time of year, may we be on time for that next season You have for us Lord to do. When we get to the beginning of a new year, may our focus be on how more deeply may we move into You our Lord and may we see more clearly YOUR plan for our lives.  Have people stop talking about weight loss, and talk more about the weightiness of God and of His glory in our lives.
Help us Holy Spirit today, to lay aside any apathy we may have toward our spouse. Help us to be demonstrative in how much we value each other. We desire to not be that "grumpy" person, the rude, cold, undemonstrative, and hidden in the remote cubicle of our past hurts and feelings.
Bring a balance into our lives for change and help us touch our spouse's heart with love to let them know we care. Our trust is in You and we lean not to our own understanding but in all our ways today of living in that place of joy, we will see Your glory and reside where no gloomy Gus, no remote Ramona can touch us, no past hurts or losses can change the atmosphere we choose to keep ...........and that is with a song in our heart and joy on our lips..........may praise go forth to YOU our Father and Creator forever. Amen.

Confessing Jesus Before Men, or Is it?

Luke 12:4-12
4 "And I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. 5 But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, fear Him! 6 Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God. 7 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

8 "Also I say to you, whoever confesses Me before men, him the Son of Man also will confess before the angels of God. 9 But he who denies Me before men will be denied before the angels of God. 10 And anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but to him who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven. 11 Now when they bring you to the synagogues and magistrates and authorities, do not worry about how or what you should answer, or what you should say. 12 For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say."
NKJV

In some services it is perfectly normal for the "pastor" to make mention of everyone bowing their heads and allow those who would like to become followers of Jesus to "raise their hand" and confess with their mouth the prayer of Salvation.
But if we are confessing God before men, why do we bow our heads? God knows what we are made of and He knows what each of us has done, then why bow the head? In making a true commitment to God and receiving His Son, do we not need to look up..........."well Shelley, it is the person looking inside himself for all that he has done wrong!"
And to that I respond: "bunk!"

I remember really long years of "church going" and in that I refer back to the "pastor" who wanted those to come forward and make their "new" stand for Jesus.
I think that should prevail today as well! Although I have been around for sometime now, I still see people who truly give their hearts  and want others to know they have a "risen" Savior, and they want to go through Water Baptism again, even though they did that as a youth!

People certainly do not mind making "a stand" for the music they like when you can hear it two-to-five cars away in another lane on a busy roadway. People like making "a stand" for their favorite football team, right? Well, what about making a "stand for Jesus"?
What if you did jail ministry? What if you did something you have not done before?
I liked serving in Jail Ministry and how women were excited to hear about Jesus but even more than that, they wanted others to know they "loved" Jesus!
I sometimes ask others who say they "have a ministry in outreach" and I will usually ask them where is their outreach? Who did you touch today? Where are they reaching to today? Did one of the cell phone services cause you to connect with so-n-so for the fifteenth time today........or did you allow someone to text you, but not answer them back? Or do we really need to text "minnie " during our time with our family? Can it not wait till tomorrow or is she near " a breaking point moment"? What if we left the phones shut off for about six hours at night? Just a question. I know some who cannot do that for they are the vital one who works with the: Fire Department, the Emergency Care unit, the Police or even the Rescue Squad!

But sometimes we need to shut off the phones. And when going to a service, what if we shut off the world for just a bit and hear God in that cool, calm and quiet that hears Him speak? Not in hustle and bustle fashion in a, do this and do that, but walking with God, enjoying the laughter with Him and finding pleasure in that time with others who love God!

I always think of this scripture when people refer to others bowing their heads. If we know what Jesus did that for us..........and we are the "Redeemed", then we should be standing tall, and shoulders squared, right? If the Redeemed, we should look like it!

Read on in Psalm 146:1-10

Praise the LORD.

Praise the LORD, O my soul.
2 I will praise the LORD all my life;
I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.

3 Do not put your trust in princes,
in mortal men, who cannot save.
4 When their spirit departs, they return to the ground;
on that very day their plans come to nothing.

5 Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob,
whose hope is in the LORD his God,
6 the Maker of heaven and earth,
the sea, and everything in them--
the LORD, who remains faithful forever.
7 He upholds the cause of the oppressed
and gives food to the hungry.
The LORD sets prisoners free,
8 the LORD gives sight to the blind,
the LORD lifts up those who are bowed down,
the LORD loves the righteous.
9 The LORD watches over the alien
and sustains the fatherless and the widow,
but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.

10 The LORD reigns forever,
your God, O Zion, for all generations.
NIV

In verse 5.......this blessed is :esher...blessed, happy.

While you and I live, we can praise the LORD ( we can praise Him for His goodness to us). We can keep and stay happy for the Word states in verse 5 Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help. We can praise Him who executes justice for the oppressed! That by His Word we will be the over-comer! If Jacob could become Israel, then could we not become what God planned for our good?
He gives food to the hungry and freedom to the prisoners. Those who are bowed down, cannot see anything but a lifeless existence. But when He comes in...........when He enters, we can stand tall......we can with eyes opened and body able to stand correct.......being free from the snares of the enemy, we are the righteous whom the Lord loves. Because Jesus came to set those captives free and to remove that which is from the enemy. (Is there baggage you or I need to get rid of today?)

When I travel, I like taking extra set of clothes, and shoes. In the travel, we may find a new place to check out that was not on our main itinerary. So when we take an extra day  of 24-hours driving back home, then we each have extra clothes for the extra night at the hotel before heading home.

Verse 9, the Lord watches over the strangers and relieves the fatherless and widow, but the way of the wicked He will turn upside down.
Yes thankful are we Lord to go forward and receive "Jesus" as  Lord. We are the Redeemed. We are the joyful in glory. That when we go to rest at night ( Psalm 149:5)...... that we have loud songs to sing on our beds. We go to sleep knowing You are active in performing Your Word and that it will not return to You void, ever!

So if I like to chat on the phone, what if I chat it up with the Lord instead? What if I find those things He delights in........
Proverbs 15:8-9
8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD,
But the prayer of the upright is His delight.
9 The way of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD,
But He loves him who follows righteousness.
NKJV

Colossians 3:20-25
20 Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord. 21 Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged. 22 Bondservants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearing God. 23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ. 25 But he who does wrong will be repaid for what he has done, and there is no partiality.
NKJV

So if I look at Proverbs 15 and verse 8, my Father delights in the prayer of the upright (righteous) person. And I if I really take note of Colossians 3:20............to obey my parents, and heed all their ways that are of "the righteous" then I will be pleasing to the Lord. But if I follow parents who do things that are wrong in this land and illegal.......then I follow my Father Who is heaven and Who keeps watch over me..........Psalm 101:6
6 My eyes will be on the faithful in the land,
that they may dwell with me;
he whose walk is blameless
will minister to me.
NIV
Ahh, being the blameless will minister to God the Father.

Psalm 101:7-8
7 He who works deceit shall not dwell within my house;
He who tells lies shall not continue in my presence.
8 Early I will destroy all the wicked of the land,
That I may cut off all the evildoers from the city of the LORD.
NKJV

Those who desire to please Father God are those who walk blamelessly and without lies. Integrity is so important today, not only for each of us as individuals, but in communication with others as well.
And if we mention that we are going to do something, then should it not be immediately .......and not days or a week later. Do we put any weight on what we say.........? Well, what about God, do we put anything of weight speaking that we have found what He desires, or are we just those remembering what some else said about finding things "the Lord delights in"?
From the above scripture, we find that he who tells lies shall not continue in the presence of the LORD!

1 Peter 4:14-19
14 If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. 15 If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler. 16 However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name. 17 For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God? 18 And,   "If it is hard for the righteous to be saved,  what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?"

19 So then, those who suffer according to God's will, should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good. NIV

If I can see how thoroughly committed God was to his plan, should I not be the faithful as He and commit to help others get to their destination as well. That destination is known! It has the sign of the Cross and the blood splattered ground. It was for intense pain and sacrifice, Jesus submitted to His Father plan. Ahh, can we say as much? You want me to walk next door and talk to them about Jesus? What? Who me? You want me to shut my phone off.? No, .........it is my "support" system!
Is it really a support system?
Am I or you allowing people to speak negative things into our being?

Back in the 1960's there was a song out "Good Vibrations"..........and I think of it from time to time. You know the beach goers had their favorite rock n roll band and the Beach Boys had some super tunes..........well, there was a lot of things going on in the 60's. In the scheme of it all, there was the Beatles in 1964 and of course Elvis Presley since his early days in the mid 50's. You had all the British groups and the many other bands like the 5th Dimension, the Boxtops, Jefferson Airplane that became Jefferson Starship in the 80's! Yikes! Then you had "Woodstock"............some folks showing up last minute in a farmer's field and playing rock n roll was not an ideal thing to me....with no restrooms and  all that rain and mud. Yuck!

But in good vibrations.........we connect with God. In reading and meditating we find His frequency that connects to us.............and it is a true vibration. It is day in and day out, meditating on the Word, and keeping that frequency open to hear. But when I just slide through the day, and through the night.......and give very little to hearing what God speaks then I just keep on sliding through every situation in my life. But when I heed God and His holiness, His wealth of wisdom, then I move out of Limited Village and move into God of more than enough!

If we for the moment consider Elijah praying on that mountain top............and kneeling in prayer.......and asking God for rain..........he did not leave his post in praying that till he got the word that rain was coming...........and what did Elijah hear?

Elijah spoke in 1 Kings 18:41........41 Then Elijah said to Ahab, "Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain." 42 So Ahab went up to eat and drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; then he bowed down on the ground, and put his face between his knees, 43 and said to his servant, "Go up now, look toward the sea." So he went up and looked, and said, "There is nothing." And seven times he said, "Go again." 44 Then it came to pass the seventh time, that he said, "There is a cloud, as small as a man's hand, rising out of the sea!" So he said, "Go up, say to Ahab, 'Prepare your chariot, and go down before the rain stops you.' " 45 Now it happened in the meantime that the sky became black with clouds and wind, and there was a heavy rain. So Ahab rode away and went to Jezreel. 46 Then the hand of the LORD came upon Elijah; and he girded up his loins and ran ahead of Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel. NKJV

"For there is the sound of abundance of rain." Now that is a good vibration!

His spending time with God connected to hearing God's frequency........and it was SOUND! God makes a sound and it was an indication that something was on its way!
When Elijah spoke that there was the "sound of an abundance of rain" .........it meant the drought was over. Rain was coming to fill the dry river beds and stream beds with flowing water from bank to bank. It was new life being restored in the new and freshness of rain. The rivers were going to run strong and fast. Fish would be caught for food, crops would again grow in the drought stricken region and fullness was being heard.
God wants us to see the Father, and speak boldly that He is on the Way with goodness. God is the answer and it is with Him.
It is a busy time, it is a chaotic time, yet I cannot see what is ahead, but I CAN HEAR IT. IT IS THE SOUND OF ABUNDANCE.

Let's allow others to look at Jesus. Let's allow them to connect with Jesus at the Cross, and move forward to 'THAT ALTAR" and receive that which God desires..........and that we confess Jesus to men everywhere. If I cannot make a stand at the altar and have to hide in the sanctuary with lights so dim that I cannot see my hand in front of me.............why all the secrecy and...........?

Romans 10:8-11 amplified
8 But what does it say? The Word (God's message in Christ is near you, on your lips and in your heart; that is the Word (the message the basis and object) of faith which we preach.
9 because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, relies, on Christ ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly  and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] salvation. 11 The Scripture says, No man who believes in Him [adheres to, relies on, and trusts in Him] will [ever] be put to shame or be disappointed. [Psalm 34:22, Isaiah 28:16, Isaiah 49:23, Jeremiah 17:7]

How refreshing it would be, in a society of low -accountability, that we would want others to come forward for Jesus!
But if we continue to keep it low key........accountability to almost 0 percent......no contact with others..........Salvation..........is salvation.........let's move on .........AND ROCK THIS PLACE OUT.............WHERE IS THAT BASS GUITAR?
Let's make it count for those coming forward for Salvation. The Lord is watching over it, right? And what if we keep it real and not the low-commitment, low or no accountability..........with no direction to a Bible study or Prayer group?
To not only survive this age of technology, we must want to thrive in God and the personal relationships and make them the "REAL" from the start. If we really want to keep it the "REAL", then lead people to come forward and maybe have someone stand with them. Let's get loud about the things God loves and takes pleasure in..............and that is building His kingdom!

Father, in the name of Jesus, enlarge our understanding to know that You make all things new. (Revelation 21:5)
Show us a fresh Holy Spirit-inspired way of relating to negative things that have happened. Give us the mind of Christ to discern Your voice clearly.
Salvation was Your idea God. You sent us the Son of Your love. That salvation was to stop anything that would hinder blessings to us. It was in the death of Your Son on the Cross and the shed blood of our Savior that gave way for us to a life abundantly. That life is one that oozes with every resource we need to fulfill the call You have placed on our lives. Today Your banner over us is victory. We are the spiritually connected with the Lord. No matter the day or hour, no matter the intensity of war or however many people coming for prayer or for hearing the Word of God, we are the equipped to do all that You have for us to day. May it be to Your glory and honor and May we see Your beauty forever.........!

Lord, I pray that You would give us the “incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious” in Your sight…1 Peter 3:4.
Where anyone in our past has convinced us that we are the unattractive and less than who You made us to be, I pray that You would replace those lies with Your truth. Keep any hurtful words that have been spoken to us from playing over and over in my mind.

May we Lord not base our worth on appearance, but on Your Word. Help us to see ourselves from Your perspective.
Holy Spirit show us how valuable we are to You, so that we will be better able to convince myself of how valuable I am to our husband, to our wife, and family.
Holy Spirit, You direct us today in the wisdom about the way to dress and adorn ourselves and remind us that time spent in Your Presence is the best beauty treatment of all.  May everyone see the beauty of Lord and Your image reflected in us............(Ps 29:2…….2 Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name;   worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness....Ps 45:11……..11 The king is enthralled by your beauty;  honor him, for he is your lord. )  Amen.

One Voice, One Loud, One Quiet and which Will We Hear?

John 12:27-31
Now My soul is troubled and distressed, and what shall I say? Father, save Me from this hour [of trial and agony]? But it was this very purpose that I have come to this hour [that I might undergo it]. 28 [Rather, I will say,] glorify (honor and extol)Your [own] name! Then there came a voice out of heaven saying, I have already glorified it, and I will glorify it again. 29 The crowd of bystanders heard the sound and said that it had thundered; others said, An angel has spoken to HIM! 30 This voice has not come for My sake, but for your sake. 31 Now the judgment (crisis) of this world is coming on [sentence is now being passed on this world]. Now the ruler (evil genius, prince) of this world shall be of this world shall be cast out (expelled).

This voice has not come for My sake, but for your sake!
This spoken word is spoken right now, because it was proof by the "Father" that Jesus was the sent one, the "Messiah".
When a voice speaks words that are a comfort to those around us.........and not just to confirm us, because God has sent us to speak to the broken, the sick, the lame and see change come.
Glorify Your name God......extol YOUR name, so those who hear will know that God is glorified in this "thing" that has occurred. It is not because of any greatness in any one man, but because of the glory of God!
It is the true witness. It is that which testifies of the holy and against the profane.
And they which heard, heard a sound.
Jesus prayed a prayer!
Some heard, just like in Acts 9:7.....and Acts 22:9...  .

Exodus 19:16-25
16 Then it came to pass on the third day, in the morning, that there were thunderings and lightnings, and a thick cloud on the mountain; and the sound of the trumpet was very loud, so that all the people who were in the camp trembled. 17 And Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet with God, and they stood at the foot of the mountain. 18 Now Mount Sinai was completely in smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire. Its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked greatly. 19 And when the blast of the trumpet sounded long and became louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him by voice. 20 Then the LORD came down upon Mount Sinai, on the top of the mountain. And the LORD called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up. 21 And the LORD said to Moses, "Go down and warn the people, lest they break through to gaze at the LORD, and many of them perish. 22 Also let the priests who come near the LORD consecrate themselves, lest the LORD break out against them." 23 But Moses said to the LORD, "The people cannot come up to Mount Sinai; for You warned us, saying, 'Set bounds around the mountain and consecrate it.' " 24 Then the LORD said to him, "Away! Get down and then come up, you and Aaron with you. But do not let the priests and the people break through to come up to the LORD, lest He break out against them." 25 So Moses went down to the people and spoke to them.   NKJV

That blast of the trumpet was the VOICE OF GOD. And it came to warn. When there is a unison of many speaking the same words at the same time, can sound like a "loud trumpet" or even "many waters".

Ezekiel  1:22-28
22 The likeness of the firmament above the heads of the living creatures was like the color of an awesome crystal, stretched out over their heads. 23 And under the firmament their wings spread out straight, one toward another. Each one had two which covered one side, and each one had two which covered the other side of the body. 24 When they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of many waters, like the voice of the Almighty, a tumult like the noise of an army; and when they stood still, they let down their wings. 25 A voice came from above the firmament that was over their heads; whenever they stood, they let down their wings.

26 And above the firmament over their heads was the likeness of a throne, in appearance like a sapphire stone; on the likeness of the throne was a likeness with the appearance of a man high above it. 27 Also from the appearance of His waist and upward I saw, as it were, the color of amber with the appearance of fire all around within it; and from the appearance of His waist and downward I saw, as it were, the appearance of fire with brightness all around. 28 Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around it. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD.

So when I saw it, I fell on my face, and I heard a voice of One speaking. NKJV

For many, even today, it is by some unusual way they hear about Jesus for "the first time". In the passage from John 12, we have already visited the passages where Lazarus is raised from the dead. And in all those "miracles" that transpired proved Him (Jesus) to be God's Will and Word. They were to provide proof that He was to see believer's as in John 2:23; John 4:48, and in John 11:42.

In demonstration of God's power:John 5:30;John 6:38, and Hebrews 10:7.
In was to also confirm His Son-ship.......in John 5:17-19, and John 5:30-36. See also in Acts 2:32.
It was also proving that the kingdom of God was 'present" in that moment........1 Corinthians 4:20.
We were also to see the work of the Holy Spirit and His power active and operating.... Luke 4:18; John 3:34; Acts 1:4-8

So when the Jews rejected Jesus and His Son-ship, they rejected God....AND......the Salvation came to the Gentile. And in that we find that those in that region, Philip and Andrew came from, was a region where many of the Greek heritage were receptive to Jesus' teachings and they became those who would follow Jesus and help take the word of the Gospel to others. These who stood by heard the "voice" from heaven and why?

Because they knew Jesus and recognized it to be God speaking. From the Cross the world was judged and the enemy, the evil one, prince of this world was cast out. When the Lord shows up: 1. you will know Him by what He speaks ( out of the pastor, prophet, teacher who gives the word of God) 2. the voice will be of God and not man, 3 will glorify God and not man 4 will be given and ......without doubt others will see and know of that God has entered the situation, the room and He is excited to let everyone know! His Presence will be tangible in every way possible. And 5, when we leave, everyone in the room is "the comforted, " they are the supported", " they are the joyful", they are the fired up ones for God, and they move into their evening and week with a great outlook on their life that God is with them!

We can see at times when God spoke like to Elijah in the still small voice, and to others He gave the direct warning as the trumpet blast to others as we read in Exodus 19:16-25.
We can people be comforted by what we speak, what we give when reading that Holy Word.
Yes, when we think about the Triune God-head do we consider that 1/3 of that God-head resides on our hearts? Do we consider that the same God who raised Jesus from the dead, is the same who comforts us in our day, in our week, helps us make godly decisions each day?

How do we obtain that relationship?
Well, I think of Kathryn Kuhlman, who was a mighty woman for God. She had an exceptional relationship with the 3rd head of the God -Head. His name is the Holy Spirit.
We should be able to hear the "Voice", the "trumpet" giving warning," the quiet voice when maybe just tired, but we should hear them all.

In reading over her life I am so overwhelmed that one can be so taken over by the Spirit of God. Her love for God was so beautiful, was such a crucial part of who she became, and what a life of grace. The miraculous occurred because she sought the miracle worker! She honored Him and He honored her! If you have opportunity to read on one of the early Generals I would certainly read up on Kathryn Kuhlman.

So is it relationship or is is an acquaintance?
And what constitutes knowing someone personally or on that intimacy level where only the "secrets" between two are the "known"?

In getting to know our baby, when she was born, was about knowing so much about her. She was the quiet. She slept all the through the night on her second night home. She was up at 6 am every morning. I will not share her favorite foods, but by the teenage years it was cold pizza and I will not mention when she wanted to eat it. We were more than her acquaintance, we were her parents. We knew her everyday of the week and weekend. She had some friends and closest ones would call her Candy, but that was not her name. In years after she left home and went to college, some found calling her Candance as the "thing" to do!  And in meeting some of them, I am not sure why they thought they deserved the familiarity of being a friend when they only talked a couple times a week and no one had cell phones. YIKES! NO CELLS PHONES!
Yes, on a more personal level, with one having a relaxed attitude toward another person, are they satisfied because "they want others to think they know her really well" or are they doing it and happy that they do not have to know anything else about her? And if we find out something about her, is it because her mother told you from first hand experience..........or is it "heard through the grapevine, kind of thing?"Today there is that Facebook society. They will give you all kinds of info on them, but how much is really truth? If you knew each one and spent time with them will they look like that Facebook page or seem more like a stranger?
With all the new technology people are still not meeting one another. With the advantage or disadvantage of the texting idea, many can text one another from the same house, and from the same room. What?
But we cannot text God or send emails!

My grand-parents can say they went to church but that did not make them a real believer in Jesus Christ. My mother took us to church every Sunday and saw to it that we had Sunday School for the youth bible studies, but that did not make us believer's either!
Purging ourselves of that which is not needed may leave us as the ones who only know Joe and know nothing about him, like where he lives, what his occupation is or where his family lives. YOU may not can recognize "Joe" on the street. Why? Well they only text one another!!!!
I guess the best thing I have heard at "church" was this: "well, everyone is jumping in, for the Spirit is here"....and people of the congregation have no idea what the pastor is even mentioning. And in truth most attending right now have not opened a Bible in how many decades? YIKES again!

When God enters the room, we should certainly know His presence. When God is speaking.........well no one else will need to say anything for God will give all we need. Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for those who love Him. (1 Corinthians 2:9-16) But God has revealed to us through His Spirit. For it is His Spirit that searches all things, the deep things of God...........to know the things freely given to us by God. And in speaking (verse 13) by the Holy Spirit speak the wisdom of God of the spiritual things.

If I will only read and pray the word, find God and speak as the child with the Father, then I recognize what the Father is saying, whether to correct me or to encourage me. In our approach to God that is not based on any religion, but it is a "personal " relationship with the Lord.........by finding out what pleases Him and what makes Him cry.......what makes HIM laugh and want to dance.

I think of two scriptures I leave with you today:

2 Corinthians 3:17-18     17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. NIV

2 Corinthians 13:14    14 May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. NIV

Relationship is more than just one person talking all the time. God has much to say and when we spend time in His Word we will see how we measure up or fall really short of the mark of His Word. In the men and women of past centuries we reflect how victorious they lived life, not without mistakes BUT IN SPITE OF THEM, went on to do great things for God.  May the fruit of the Spirit that is humility be that which others will see and begin to know in us. For where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. We who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory and are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. And May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you and with me.
May we, like children, humble ourselves and expect to hear from our Father as the Father to His son and the son to the Father. Amen.

Pedal To the Metal

In those good 'ole days back in the mid 20th century, the vehicles were made out of metal. There was no thought of having a head-on crash with anyone, for one had some real metal guarding that 409.......yes, those were the days!
The best thing that could be said at that time, was you could put the pedal to the metal.........that was pressing down on that gas pedal and leave some rubber from those tires on the roadway. Not smart at all, yet was fun at least to do once or twice. Yes, that gas pedal could be pushed down and it would meet the metal in that floorboard of pick-up or car.
Then the era came for the test dummies and those fastened in seat belts. What seat belts? It was never really implemented as to the importance of said seat-belt, even though they could be found in some cars, trucks and pick-ups but not on school buses. Then vehicles were starting to be made out of I guess generic stuff and not that which would hold resistance to another vehicle. Today, you can see what happens to a vehicle made out of fiberglass hit by a semi-truck. Not good at all especially if you are the one riding in the fiberglass, sports job type vehicle.
I remember of the one year living in the city of Northglenn, Colorado made me want to be in the country....for good. There was a song by John Denver......and it went.......something like this, "take me home, country road". It is one our daughter's favorite songs, yes that country road with no sight of car or bus for many, many miles. A young, newly married, woman was on her way home from work on a weekday. She had got off the exit for Northglenn and was stopped at the light to turn onto the main road for the city there. But the semi coming up behind her could not brake........yes, the brakes failed and that "big" semi went through that intersection with no way to stop. She was driving in one of those MG sport cars with the top off. All they found was her wedding ring.
I cried for days. I saw the pictures on T.V. and prayed. And every April I revisit that scene in my thoughts. All though these many decades have passed, I wonder if she was saved (if she really knew Jesus)

Yes, that pedal to the metal........sounds awesome........and to get the speed up to go faster. Even the term, like "throttle Up" can excite those who want to go into space. Yeah all that rocket fuel bursting forth into energy just behind your rear parts to propel you into space and to view what? Yes, that would be exciting and scary!

But so many things can occur at once when we start moving quickly, like making decisions that probably need some prayer time over before speaking or signing anything that might be costly to us or to our children.

In the new year that is upon us, I pray that we ponder the amazing works of the Lord in our lives. I pray that we would consider all the avenues that He has opened for us to journey through watching all the while that He is with us. I also pray that we would continually be open to seeing His paths before us.

Proverbs 3:5-7
Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. 6 In all your ways know, recognize and acknowledge Him and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths. 7 Be not wise in your own eyes; reverently fear and worship the Lord and turn [entirely] away from evil. Amplified

Proverbs 8:13-14
The reverent fear and worshipful awe of the Lord [includes] the hatred of evil; pride arrogance, the evil way, and perverted and twisted speech I hate. 14 I have counsel and sound knowledge, I have understanding, I have might and power.

Proverbs 6:20-23
My son, keep your father's [God -given] commandments and forsake not the law of [God] your mother [taught] you. 21 Bind them continually upon your heart and tie them about your neck [Proverbs 3:3; Proverbs 7:3]
22 When you go, they [the words of your parent's God] shall lead you; when you sleep, they shall keep you; and when you awaken, they shall talk with you. 23 For the commandment is a lamp, and the whole teaching [of the law] is light, and reproofs of discipline are the way of life. [Psalm 19:8] [Psalm 119:105]

That reproof, that discipline is life and it is from the Lord. When it is time for our lives to make a difference in this world, it is when we lean not to that which was taught by man and his wisdom, but by God alone. Our parents, if they attended to hearing God's Word is to teach us in the way of wisdom. In all our ways we are to recognize, yes recognize the Lord's leading..............ACKNOWLEDGE HIS LEADING...so we see the plan before us. For in recognizing Him, we are then receiving His counsel that is wise and sound. It is not loud, boisterous, hasty or against His Word.  It is that which gives us power and might of His Spirit to move through this journey, not just by giving people the 'message' in less than 25 minutes, but that the 'message' is not bound up in agenda's like making sure the offering message is given and that the music is going to move those "young folks, like those teens". It is not by any agenda's..........!!!
No, those who know God can move through making a difference to the young as well as to the elderly. They speak in peace and justice. They do not demand their own agendas or their own rights, they speak that which brings glory back to God..........and that place is a place of peace and justice.
In our lives, that putting the pedal to the metal, is knowing God is with us, in us and leading us. Amen.  It is His Word that causes us to lie down in green pastures. It is a place we rest at night, not concerned about 75 mile an hour winds, but that God has sent His ministering spirits to minister to us who are His children, His beloved.
God's word awakens us day by day.......to hear and to obey. Still in our choosing, but oh life is so much sweeter and more peace added with justice that delights our God and looks like us possessing the land He desires us to have. It is getting in that vehicle made with whatever man devised, but knowing God has set His angels around us, to guard us, and to keep us.
In being disciplined by His Word, we obey, we are the protected, out of harm's way and living life abundantly to tell others what God has done for us...........from healings, to restored marriages, restored families, and the birth of new ministries and new businesses!
Truly God is good..........and He is love!
In that place, there is no evil, no twisted speech, no hatred, but love. Loving God is hating that which is of the evil, the pride and the arrogance.

In writing this today, I reflect on some of the games(football) played over the weekend and how they seem to be played everyday of the week nowadays. I saw the Cincinnati team being talked about.........seeing and hearing them called only "Cinci"..........wow, nicknames for a team...........!
But one thing caught my eye, and it was this. A young man runs with football into end zone. At some point the football is either thrown down or given to the official who is nearby...........the player then....because of the "touchdown"....does this gesture............of taking his "maybe the pointer fingers"  and middle fingers of both hands ...bringing together and....kissing them...... then pointing upward to the sky..........!
Of course, my thought process was........"what"........was he thanking God ....for the touchdown...!
Not sure.

And only God can tell you the truth on that one. For most of us are not of this young man's team or one of his family members.......but I am certain they could say....something about it...........but in truth God will know if the young man is a true worshiper of God or not.

In the blog: High Risk! I wrote about having that one-to-one with God and how in a very difficult life or death situation who and what we believe will determine our end!
But on writing this today, I also was made to  think on my own life.
I think of the place I was in that eventful night of March 17.........and with low hemoglobin and no matching blood because of warm antibodies, well it was not one I had planned for other than.........in all my days with the Lord, I was believing and declaring His Word over my life. In that eventful night and time, I was till told HIGH RISK! and the Admitting Dr. thought I should change my mind on whole matter. But in that 3 am hour, with lights turned off and I alone with God and my thoughts of what had just transpired..........I confessed His Word again...........that I would face the unknown of what was before knowing God had me and that was it. In the intimacy of that faithful moment, I reconciled myself to God and His plan and not to man or any kind of sickness or disease any devil could bring. I came to the place that God was more important to me than my life..........and was willing to go on to be with Him, but I believed I had much more to give to others, to encourage others and show others the way to God and His heart!
And in reflecting on what I had seen in that "end zone"........I was saddened for my alone times with God are so important to me, I will not share them with another ever!
And I did ask myself, if there is somewhere in my life am I acting in some manner that would not be of a reverential awe of God? Am I doing something that will not bring glory to God?

In the previous blog: HEARD IT THROUGH THE GRAPEVINE, are we just gossiping about what we have heard others say about God? And how about what we do or say, when other people's names are mentioned?
In speaking about God: are we really the ones with the close relationship to Him or we just exhibiting that we might know Him.........or are we just another who passes His name around but does not really know anything about Him? Are we the name-dropper?
ARE we those who are found with God and filled by His Spirit? Are we, those who operate in HIS power and might? Are we participating in life?  Are we those disciplined to recognize God in our lives, but also recognize Him in the lives of others? Is the total amount that is given to God..equal to all the texting and Facebook that I do? Or is there more time given to posting those pics and seeing what was texted back to me?
Do we give that comforting word that God is here, in this moment that satisfies and heals the broken?

In that Pedal to the Metal.....it is action time.........but it comes by knowing Him!
Of which family do we belong? Are we those who are the fortified to go......are the other....?

In closing: think on a moment when you saw a beautiful serene picture. Think of the tranquility of that scene. I think on this picture taken by a photographer over the holidays. It was of this place close to Mt. Hood and the snow was falling. And in it ........he captured..........the sound of "silence" of that snow..........of that scene. How beautiful.............how awe inspiring!
Today, think on your life in that beautiful serene picture. Think of you basking in all that beauty and all the peace. For that is what Your Father in heaven sees for you and for me. It is in that beauty of Him we behold His glory and His great love! And in that love, we find ourselves......yes, we each find our inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of a great worth in God's sight.(1 Peter 3:4)

Father, we are told in Psalm 9:9..."The Lord also will be a refuge and a high tower for the oppressed, a refuge and "stronghold" in times of trouble (high cost, destitution and desperation)" Father we understand that it is about relationship .......and that is with Jesus as our Savior. We are thankful for Jesus, the Lord and King, our Deliverer, Who is our "stronghold".
In all our getting of Your wisdom, we pray and believe that we know seeking to obey Your instructions is paramount for us to live life fully in the good You planned for us. Today, we give worship in praise with our lips that God is an awesome God.
In reading even further in Psalm 9:10 Father, we find this: And they who know YOUR name [who have experience and acquaintance with Your mercy] will lean on and confidently put their trust in You, for You Lord, have not forsaken those who seek (inquire of and for ) You [on the authority of God's Word and the right of their necessity]. Amplified
Our desire heavenly Father is to experience You daily. to intimately know and recognize You when You speak, when You act, when You are pleased with us. For we know that honoring YOU and putting YOU first, in our lives, our enemies are turned back from causing us harm. It is YOU Who delivers us..........and we give thanks.
I cannot speak for all who pray this today, but for me........and my house......we will serve the Lord.
Jesus predicted the time of the end. It is where we find we live and exist. And Jesus said, "but as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. "(Matthew 24:37)
Despite all the serious things going on today, people are still going about those "normal routines". Without considering what is on the horizon coming toward them, they take not a moment to think or ponder on major events and those which will affect them on a personal basis. We pray to not be those easily distracted by noise, by hype, by something given on Facebook, but actually know Your words and thoughts concerning these days and how short time is right now. For we know technology is awesome. To have an outreach like Facebook certainly reaches many lives and may those who do it for life prosper in life to see that which benefits another. Today Holy Spirit help us that as we read the Holy Word, pray for those around us.......to pray for those worldwide who are our brothers and sisters in the Lord. Help us join as that "spiritual" team that will pray and see the best days for those WHO BELIEVE IN JESUS, THE LORD, MESSIAH AND OUR COMING KING! Amen.

AN EGG ON A HOT SIDEWALK

How awesome is the time to connect with family members who live so far away! You can find some things like the weather to laugh about. Although I know some traveling by plane have found the going slow with delayed or cancelled flights this Christmas holiday season. Yet, just making a phone call, you are there and connect with one hello!
In the time of reaching out to others on the east coast, I was reminded how much different the weather has been back there. Of connecting that day after Christmas, my sister reminded me that they had once again been in the 80's............not the 1980's but in the temperatures we think of as in the summertime around here. She told me how they had to run their air conditioning once again. And here we were seeing ice and sleet fall like ribbons on Christmas Day evening on our way back from a "country" Christmas. No, there was no John Denver tunes, but I should ask my daughter about that one. But we did hear Rockin' around the Christmas Tree by Brenda Lee. Yes, we were in the country hearing country type music and was certain joy to my heart.
But back to the east coast and the high heat warnings, that was something I was surprised to hear about that day after Christmas. Also, THEY ARE KNEE DEEP in water that will not evaporate...........it just stands there, and it rains another 5 inches to add to the existing rain already beginning to stagnate on the ground. No, not a good thing at this point, and my sister was concerned if more rain came in before this extra moisture was gone.

Evaporation! I thought in all this time, that all you needed was some heat to evaporate the extra water on the ground, but she said they need the sunshine (like direct sun shining), and they only get really cloudy skies each day.

So I think about this scripture:

Exodus 16:13-21
13 So it was that quails came up at evening and covered the camp, and in the morning the dew lay all around the camp. 14 And when the layer of dew lifted, there, on the surface of the wilderness, was a small round substance, as fine as frost on the ground. 15 So when the children of Israel saw it, they said to one another, "What is it?" For they did not know what it was. And Moses said to them, "This is the bread which the LORD has given you to eat. 16 This is the thing which the LORD has commanded: 'Let every man gather it according to each one's need, one omer for each person, according to the number of persons; let every man take for those who are in his tent.' " 17 And the children of Israel did so and gathered, some more, some less. 18 So when they measured it by omers, he who gathered much had nothing over, and he who gathered little had no lack. Every man had gathered according to each one's need. 19 And Moses said, "Let no one leave any of it till morning." 20 Notwithstanding they did not heed Moses. But some of them left part of it until morning, and it bred worms and stank. And Moses was angry with them. 21 So they gathered it every morning, every man according to his need. And when the sun became hot, it melted.
NKJV

This is one of my favorites in that God fed them from that dew that fell overnight. Like a frost on the ground, the small round substance was something to eat. It was like bread.......and one was to gather to those living in each household but no more. They gathered according to their need. They had to eat it when it was available to eat and if not eaten........every bite........then any part of it was rotten......spoiled.........not good to eat and then it would breed worms.

Yes, evaporation........!
Let's look at the word condensation........
a process whereby a gas or a vapor becomes a liquid. Condensation is that which appears on the inside of the window in the winter time.........like when boiling a liquid on the stove and the condensation appears. Like today, I can see water droplets or those beads of water appear on the glass window. It has occurred because of the humid air reaching the cold surface of the window.

But what about too much water...........that accumulates..........standing water with no place to go or how about water that dries up and remains dry.......to produce the results of a"drought"?

In our walk with the Lord, we too, can suffer from evaporation. When we begin to think our walk is A-okay! When we miss some services because it is the "holiday" time and you know I read that scripture or studied that before! Or, I do not need to go, as I am really busy and I have ministry tomorrow.........and wow, that is a lot to ask of me right now!
Evaporation!
As my sister spoke of the accumulation of rain water from the last few weeks, it was evident that it was not draining well. And I had always thought they might have an under ground spring running rather parallel to their property in the country. So the whole 5+ acres has water. She laughingly referred to the "sinking" and I told her to watch for those bubbles coming up to the surface. Yes, she laughed but I have continued to think on that for it can affect people who walk with the Lord.
If we become to lax in our daily lives, and can blow a dozen or so services every six months, then what does they say about us?
When we think about any "selfishness" and we are talking about the one who just chooses to skip the service, skip that time together for all leaders. In that act of being selfish is the basis of all immorality.  In thinking of our salvation and all that came through  Jesus was by no selfish act. He was bent on that outgoing love.
When we see that big puddle of water on the roadway, and see it become smaller everyday, it is either because there are many vehicles driving through it or there is a bright sun shining overhead. In that direct heat of light, that water evaporates. As the breeze starts to blow over that puddle, that which was wet is now becoming something else entirely.
Back in the late 1960's we took a trip to Disneyland. In all that work and effort to make an amusement park, we had a really good workable schedule of planning where and when we would have our meals. Of course, our one morning was in the midst of Phoenix, Arizona and on that early morning light, we drove to the nearby Denny's for breakfast. In our delight, we saw the one cook outside, breaking eggs onto that hot sidewalk, and we watched them cook those eggs. No was not interested in eating them from the sidewalk, but I had seen what the temp over 110 degrees plus a hot sidewalk with asphalt all around caused a high heat of nearly 126 degrees in that morning light could do to an egg on a hot sidewalk. Yes, it was fry city!

If we do not replenish in that liquid and refuel with the word of God that brings wisdom to us, then how can we make it to the end of this "run"?

Job 14:1-13

14:1 "How frail is man, how few his days, how full of trouble! 2 He blossoms for a moment like a flower-and withers; as the shadow of a passing cloud, he quickly disappears. 3 Must you be so harsh with frail men and demand an accounting from them? 4 How can you demand purity in one born impure? 5 You have set mankind so brief a span of life-months is all you give him! Not one bit longer may he live. 6 So give him a little rest, won't you? Turn away your angry gaze and let him have a few moments of relief before he dies.

7 "For there is hope for a tree-if it's cut down, it sprouts again and grows tender, new branches. 8 Though its roots have grown old in the earth, and its stump decays, it may sprout and bud again at the touch of water, like a new seedling. 10 But when a man dies and is buried, where does his spirit go? 11 As water evaporates from a lake, as a river disappears in drought, so a man lies down for the last time and does not rise again until the heavens are no more; he shall not awaken, nor be roused from his sleep. 13 Oh, that you would hide me with the dead and forget me there until your anger ends; but mark your calendar to think of me again!
TLB

When we die, then we die. There is no last minute fitting several decades of life into a few minutes. Even in my age, I think of who can do several things and still keep going, yet it is to be in God's plan and not my own plan. As I read over what is given here in Job, I think of that water evaporating from a lake and how the river disappears in drought. That when man lies down to rise no more, he will mingle with that which is of the ground, that which is of no life.
Our time is now. It is a moment in which we can as individuals and as team members make a difference for the kingdom of God. It is not in the "sweet by and by" ....it is in the "here and NOW"!

With evaporation, we see.........dehydration! Without the supply of water, we see a firm ground, but may be in drought. It could have the appearance of cracks, and disappearance of what may be around the land area that is dry in drought. There may be no plants, no trees, no life of any kind sustained for any amount of time. With the disappearance of water, one will see the exodus of wildlife from that region. Yes, all life from before would just fade away!

In my recent health issues, one thing kept popping up.........and the questions by the doctors was this: "are you staying hydrated?"
Yes, drinking 6-8 big glasses of water a day.........but on the flip of that......is " are your cells absorbing the water that is available to them?"
So two things: yes I had water but the opposite was the cells were not doing their thing in the right way for health for me.
In that state, one can become depressed, run a fever, and all for lack of NOT absorbing the needed water given through the mouth and to be used all the way down to the cellular level. We can be flushed, irritable, tired and fatigued, well,...........you get the idea here.
We should watch over our bodies and drink plenty of water daily, but we also must put the water of God's Word into our bodies. We must fill up and fill up and then spend time in corporate worship with those who are like minded in the things of God.

John 15:13-17
14 You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. 15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. 17 These things I command you, that you love one another.
NKJV

John 16:12-15
13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. 14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. 15 All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.
NKJV

Father, thank You for Jesus. We are no longer foreigners and aliens but fellow citizens with God's people and members of God's household. We are built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the chief cornerstone. In Him the whole building is joined together and rises to become the holy temple in the Lord. (Ephesians 2:19-22)
Father, we have been appointed to go and bear fruit and that our fruit should remain, that whatever we ask You in Jesus' name may be given us. And we are commanded to love one another.
Thank You for the Holy Spirit Who is active and operating in our lives today. We give thanks that we can hear Him speak and declare to us the things that are ours. And we are thankful we hear today and are lead in that pathway that is even ...without .......pits.
We understand that from Proverbs 28:9 ...that he who turns away his ear from hearing the law [ of God and man], even his prayer is an abomination, hateful and revolting [to God]. If we regard iniquity in our heart, the Lord will not hear us. For we understand that according to Proverbs 15:9-10...that the way of the wicked is an abomination, extremely disgusting and shamefully vile to the Lord, but he loves him who pursues righteousness (moral and spiritual rectitude in every area and relation.) And that there is severe discipline for him who forsakes God's way; and he who hates reproof will die [physically, morally, and spiritually].
Father, we desire not to end up in that "hot spot" like an egg on an overheated sidewalk........fry out all the liquid in seconds and be done for good.........when just filling up with Your life and wisdom will take us where we need to go in Your safety, peace, and love. Our desire is to please You and walk in the way that will bring glory to Your name. We pray to be those who will not stop because it is a "holiday", but keep going in the way of righteousness that is life and health. Father, in Jesus' name we desire to not be wise in our own eyes; we fear the LORD and depart from evil. It is health to our flesh and strength to our bones. (Proverbs 3:7-8)
Asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father may give to us the Spirit of wisdom and revelation so that we may know HIM better. That our eyes of our heart be enlightened in order to know the hope to which He has called us. Amen.

Heard It Through the Grapevine

We had a tremendous time with the Lord last night. We had a special word on "abiding". We had wonderful worship and prayer together as a team. Then we had "food". Ahh, yes, Jesus liked to eat as well. We find it happening after His resurrection. Yes, down at the beach front of the Lake.......He had fish cooking on the "grill".
John 21:7-10
7 Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It is the Lord!" As soon as Simon Peter heard him say, "It is the Lord," he wrapped his outer garment around him (for he had taken it off) and jumped into the water. 8 The other disciples followed in the boat, towing the net full of fish, for they were not far from shore, about a hundred yards.  9 When they landed, they saGRAEVINE,w a fire of burning coals there with fish on it, and some bread.

10 Jesus said to them, "Bring some of the fish you have just caught."
NIV

How often as individuals and family leaders we get caught up in the "activity" of just doing. Well, "I did my job today and I am so tired!"  "I am just going to do my thing tonight (tomorrow, Sunday or ???)
In what we read above, the disciples had gone back to what they did before they met Jesus. Before their walk with Him, they as fishermen had gone back to that which they "knew oh so well"!
Some of the disciples saw the fire of burning coals and that were some fish already cooking.
Jesus knew where to find them. They had been so frightened to all that transpired by the one hundred or so company of soldiers had come to them in the garden to take Jesus away. They probably thought they were next in line for crucifixion. But Jesus knew them and what was in them. And He found them fishing. No, they were probably hidden out is some area as not to be seen as "one of those"who followed that Jesus!
In the passage in John 21 we find some interesting conversation between Jesus and the disciples....John 21:1-9

21:1 After these things Jesus showed Himself again to the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias, and in this way He showed Himself: 2 Simon Peter, Thomas called the Twin, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two others of His disciples were together. 3 Simon Peter said to them, "I am going fishing." They said to him, "We are going with you also." They went out and immediately got into the boat, and that night they caught nothing. 4 But when the morning had now come, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. 5 Then Jesus said to them, "Children, have you any food?" They answered Him, "No." 6 And He said to them, "Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some." So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish. 7 Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It is the Lord!" Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment (for he had removed it), and plunged into the sea. 8 But the other disciples came in the little boat (for they were not far from land, but about two hundred cubits), dragging the net with fish. 9 Then, as soon as they had come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid on it, and bread.
NKJV
In verse 5, Jesus speaks to them.........."Children, have you any food?" They answered Him, "No".

Interesting Jesus says, "children".
How we desire to "help" our children! How we want to show them to walk through life, have this journey, and know the best of it each day.
Alas, these men had no fish. They had caught nothing. Jesus gave them instructions and they followed them. They caught a boat load that was more than enough and they came to shore.

I have found in my walk with the Lord that I could miss a lifetime of miracles if I miss a service or that special evening of worship and praise to God the Creator. No, there was no big "choir" singing. There was no one " playing bass guitar or beating some drums!" But we worshiped in song and in prayer. We came together as a family to give thanks. In all my years of church going, this year was like going home for the first time. It was this refreshing time of being with those you love and who love you back. A child prayed, a dessert was eaten, and prayer was given for all. A time to laugh, and joy in truth that God is ever with us. (Matthew 1:23)
In each of us, we had a story to tell. Some of health, some of family and some things caused by other people, but we each have seen God involved in our lives. We came together, expecting God in our future to fulfill all that He has promised.

Can God visit us in those other places we desire to venture? Well of course He can, but when in an environment that is tuned to K-SELF, instead of into G-O-D....we can come up short of not hearing or obeying even a small request from Him. If the noise of the world speaks over what God is saying to us.
The disciples surely got an instruction and about throwing the net on the other side of the boat. What if God is wanting to change the way we do something, and it is something that is "just ingrained" into our lives and thought patterns? What if God wants to give us answer to something that is right before us and before the storm hits our life?
Jesus laid down His life in heaven to pick up that which was of flesh and bone. He took up that which He could see and know first hand the lives of His children.
But what if we choose to roam.........but I will be back when I am ready to get back to Jesus!

Matthew 16:13-20
13 When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, "Who do people say the Son of Man is?"

14 They replied, "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets."

15 "But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?"

16 Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

17 Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven. 18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.  19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." 20 Then he warned his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Christ.
NIV

The most interesting thing about this passage is that the one set of disciples each had something immediately about what they had heard...............you know like through the grapevine!
Well,........"Some say John the Baptist...........others say Elijah and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets."
Yes this group heard about what others were saying though ..and...(you guessed it).. they answered Jesus with.......GOSSIP that they had heard!
But Jesus asked them.........."But what about you...........", "Who do you say that I am?"
And Simon answered........."You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

Jesus told Simon Peter......"Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven. 18 And I tell you that you are Peter (rock) and on this rock I will build my church and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."
What Jesus gave of Himself........was such that He had.........not of fancy clothes, not rigorous royalty schedules of pomp but of the word of God given to teach of the kingdom which had come. It was given in the life that was stirred up in the beginning. It was the Holy Spirit, the third God head......that was present, is present and will always be present. It is recognized by the fruit of..........love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. (Galatians 5:22-26)
We who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. We are to live by the Spirit and (not flesh man).........to keep in step with the Spirit (verse 25)

If we are living by what man says about us..........."LOOK OUT!!!"
But if we are the determined to live by the Spirit and have the fruit of what we see from that life, we have the key to that kingdom. And when it comes others will know it!
Again, it is by recognizing that which is within each of us.
Hell cannot prevail against us when we are the man or woman of love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Jesus spoke that the gates of hell would not prevail against us..........and that meant that our agreement was to be by the Spirit that would be in word and in truth.
Have you gone to church with someone or others who you try to talk to about Jesus and the goodness of God and they seem to speak a different language than English and look at you like you might be from another planet? This is what it appears to me.........and yet, in some regards, it is they seem to know of Jesus but do not abide in Him.

1 John 2:6
6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.
NKJV

Those who live by the Spirit are the yielding and they give love wherever they go. I know such people as these and they are light to the lost.
We are to walk like Jesus walked and not by what others say about us or if they think what we are doing is right or wrong just because they get upset about it. If what we are doing is worshiping God and Him alone, the one True God Who is the Only Good God........Luke 18:19 and giving Him glory for all that happens in our homes, in our lives and even in church, then God is truly with Us and will be evident. Each will be known whether they have been with God or not.
He is ever-present and if He sends us to worship in corporate worship with others, it is because He desires it and desires us to be obedient.
In those places of truly coming to the rug.........like our grand-daughter speaks...........that secret place is that where we truly submit, truly speak His Word and affirm that "Greater is He that is me (you) than he that is in the world! Where all  that is spoken comes back to give God glory then we have come to His kingdom where the fruit of the Spirit prevails.
In an awesome testimony last night the Apostle spoke of how God was speaking His plan in a special thing for his family and how just speaking to another showed the Apostle how God was already on the scene and knew about it by what was spoken, even though this "person" had not known  what God was speaking BUT BY THE SPIRIT ONLY!
Yes God is here and now, and we can find Him in searching the Word and in praise to His name, giving glory that belongs only to Him...........and when we are there, called to that place in corporate worship, we hear the answers to what may be coming down the pike........down I-5.........down that grapevine that may be caused by others, but all the while we who listen to the Spirit will be those that know without a doubt that which is by the SPIRIT OF GOD, and WE HAVE THE VICTORY!
In closing.......yield to God, hear the Spirit today........the Spirit of Grace and Mercy..........for such is the kingdom of heaven......and participate with......those the Lord calls His children...........His beloved!

ALL FLESH SHALL SEE

Luke 3:3-6
3 And he went into all the region around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins, 4 as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, saying:

"The voice of one crying in the wilderness:
'Prepare the way of the LORD,
Make His paths straight.
5 Every valley shall be filled
And every mountain and hill brought low;
The crooked places shall be made straight
And the rough ways smooth;
6 And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.' "
NKJV

Luke 3:3-6
And he went into all the country round about the Jordan preaching a baptism of repentance (of hearty amending of their ways, with abhorrence of past wrongdoing) unto the forgiveness of sin. 4 As it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, the voice of one crying in the wilderness [shouting in the desert]; Prepare the way of the Lord, make His beaten paths straight. 5 Every valley and ravine shall be filled up, and every mountain and hill shall be leveled; and the crooked places shall be made straight, and the rough roads shall be made smooth; 6 And all mankind shall see (behold and understand and at last acknowledge) the salvation of God (the deliverance from eternal death decreed by God). [Isaiah 40:3-5]  Amplified

Some of the saddest stories have come over the news in the past two weeks. Surely people have lost their lives in homes sliding down hillsides and vehicles overtaken by water. When there is a barrier like across a roadway, it is there for a "reason" and it is not the one that says" hey, let's try out that road, it is UNDER WATER right now!"
I know not what some people's thinking is at the time or if they have the concept that the brain is in the  continual"ON Mode" position, but some of their thinking gave them ideas that they could drive through deep, deep and fast moving water that is filled with debris like broken bridges, downed fir trees or even other vehicles floating down river.
And I wonder in each case if they were saved! I wonder if they went to heaven or did they have time for Jesus at all!
And at this writing I think of all the young adults who strap bombs onto their being and blow themselves up to kill other people. What kind of hate that must reside in their hearts that they could blow others up so that "they" the bomb person can have some how many maidens waiting for them in paradise to give them pleasure???? What a lie! I thought of the young couple who killed what was it "nine" individuals and then end up dying in a shoot out and left behind a small infant. Terrible! I wonder how many demons were waiting their arrival in hell? Who told them to do that? We must know truth and that comes from pouring over the Gospels that Jesus taught to others who followed Him. He always gave glory to God His Father!

In going on in Luke 3 we find this when John the Baptist spoke:
7 So he said to the crowds who came out to be baptized by him, You offspring of vipers! Who secretly warned you to flee from the coming wrath? 8 Bear fruits that are deserving and consistent with [your] repentance [that is conduct worthy of a heart changed, a heart abhorring sin]. And do not begin to say to yourselves, we have Abraham as our father, for I tell you that God is able from these stones to raise up descendants for Abraham. 9 Even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees, so that every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and cast into the fire.Amplified

And finishing on from verses 10-18........was about love. It was to share your tunics. If you have two, share with him who has none. And he who has food, do the same..........share (verse 11)

AND SO ....WITH MANY OTHER [VARIOUS] APPEALS AND ADMONITIONS HE PREACHED THE GOOD NEWS (THE GOSPEL) TO THE PEOPLE. (verse 18)

There is so much today on the news.......and of that which is suppose to be a faith, but not sure of what it is in..........as they dismember people and seek to destroy others with horrific acts. But my Jesus came to give life. Any other is of the devil.........for he (the devil ) came to steal, kill and destroy.
John 10:10
The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they might have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).

Jesus came to give us  a life that is full of life and overflowing with life.

He came to give life everlasting.
John 6:46-51
46 No one has seen the Father except the one who is from God; only he has seen the Father. 47 I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life. 48 I am the bread of life. 49 Your forefathers ate the manna in the desert, yet they died. 50 But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which a man may eat and not die. 51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world."
NIV

For what do I worship?
I worship Jesus who was born of the virgin Mary!

Luke 1:26-29
26 Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, 27 to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin's name was Mary. 28 And having come in, the angel said to her, "Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!"
NKJV

I give thanks to the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth!
Genesis 1:1-5
1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. 3 Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.
NKJV

I believe Jesus is coming again soon!

1 Thessalonians 4:14-18
14 We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 15 According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage each other with these words.
NIV

All flesh are to see Jesus in us. Not under or in any other name. The testimony of Jesus points us to the realities that life today is to be in Him and through Him. Jesus did not come to badger, bully, to kill, to profane another, but to give life and give light to a dying world. Life has come through the miraculous virgin birth of Jesus. Not touched by man, no DNA of man but of only God. In Jesus we saw Him declare and demonstrate works of God for all to see.
He always directed His disciples back to the truth that He only did what He saw His Father doing. And He only spoke what He, Jesus, heard His Father speak.
Yes, it was this total agreement based entirely on what God told Him. Jesus obeyed!

As John the Baptist went about in the "wilderness" to declare the coming of Jesus, we too must proclaim His coming again. Our testimony is to remind others of what "love" looks like to a dying world. It is sharing what we have: not only in love, but in food and in clothing. It is our declarations that testify and yes, give demonstration to truth that God is love and He sees after our needs.
John the Baptist told those who (Luke 3:14) served as soldiers to "never demand or enforce by terrifying people or by accusing wrongfully and always be satisfied with your rations (supplies)and with your allowances (wages). I believe there is scripture that sums all this up:
1 Timothy 2:1-7
1 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men. 2 for kings and who who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus. 6 who gave Himself as a ransom for all, to be testified in due time 7 for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle-----I am speaking the truth in Christ and not lying----a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth. NKJV

There is One Mediator and His name is Jesus!( it is not Theudas, Judas, mohammed or ???).........Jesus is our God and our King) He is the Son of God! Matthew 3:16-17.....
16 When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. 17 And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."    NKJV

We all are to have knowledge of truth. In study of the Gospels and all that Jesus taught on, those parables should be our mainstay diet. When they are our delight and our counselors, we will be those fulfilling God's plan for us.........and that is one-to-one-to-one.

In the previous blog: Water to Wine: Holding Him in our Hearts, we saw how Mary watched her Son grow and become that for which He was destined for and to accomplish. She knew the things which were spoken about her Son by those who had the prophetic voice. She saw within her home how He acted and behaved when no one was watching. In what we hold here in this teaching, we see the disciples "recognize" and continue to follow.
Luke 24:28-35
28 Then they drew near to the village where they were going, and He indicated that He would have gone farther. 29 But they constrained Him, saying, "Abide with us, for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent." And He went in to stay with them. 30 Now it came to pass, as He sat at the table with them, that He took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. 31 Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight. 32 And they said to one another, "Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?" 33 So they rose up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together, 34 saying, "The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!" 35 And they told about the things that had happened on the road, and how He was known to them in the breaking of bread.
NKJV

The Lord has indeed risen. And He is still standing true to the "breaking of the bread". He is still opening the Scriptures to us, to those who seek His face and revere His name!
Those who "really know" Jesus will act like Him. From the above Jesus was still speaking and acting on Himself being talked of in the scriptures. And when He had taken the bread and broke it........their eyes were open. They "recognized" their Rabbi, their Savior, the Holy One of God!
If we find something seems wrong on the news, take it to prayer. Take the "thing" to God and ask Him. Take it to church or whatever body of believer's you have fellowship with. And then bring it here...........write in the comment section. We, together here will help you pray about what you comment on.  We are the powerhouse for Jesus.............for we have His Holy Spirit. The same Holy Spirit Who raised Jesus from the dead resides in us. Let us join forces........and stop the bullying through prayer and by extending love to our neighbors by feeding them and giving them something to keep warm. Our greatest days of seeing His power released on earth is right before us. Recognize Him, act on what He speaks........and......................keep looking up for our redemption draws near! (Luke 21:28)...............Our Redeemer has paid it in full and He is standing by to bring us in to that for which we believe to know as truth.
Keep walking, keep proclaiming and let us pray....individually and together in corporate prayer that.......peace be in earth as it is in heaven.

Our Father, which art in heaven,
Hallowed be Your Name.
Your kingdom come, Your will be done in earth (in me)
As it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not
into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom,
the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.
