Arguing with the Fence Post

Don't Argue with the Fence Post!
When I was growing up, and still at home with my parents I loved the stories my dad could tell. He surely had a colorful life. He had grown up in the "depression years" and knew how hard it was for many people to feed their families back in that day and hour!
But for sure, he had a story to tell about the things that one might take for granted. He loved showing young boys how to build a fence, how to rope a steer and how to drive a semi tractor trailer. Still he had a love of horses and for laughter. Our kitchen was the gathering for those times of laughter. Especially in the summer, our dad would bring home some of our cousins who would either be at the feed store or the chicken farm. These young boys would dress in their denim jeans like Levi's, wear those cowboy boots and have a hat that matched.
They would gather around the table, although too antsy to sit, but close enough to hear the stories my dad could tell. I was reminded of this verse from the Bible.
Proverbs 17:22 A merry heart doeth good like a medicine; but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

In this we are reminded it is a good thing to laugh. It works like a medicine. It seemed that we spent many hours laughing at the things that make one forget the gray areas of life. It was not about strife or criticizing others but generally how my dad would get into stuff and have to "figure the way out" of that thing.
For some folks though it is hard for them to laugh about some of the things they have done in their lives. For many they want others to remember them for their "good only" and not some of the mistakes they have made in their lifetime. I certainly would not desire to speak on some of the goofy things I did, but I can say drugs was never a part of my life. I was told early on in my life that my parents would know if I did "something stupid" and then I would answer for it and not sit down for a week. I believed them!
But all people can and do make mistakes at sometime or another in their life and never desire others to know of the "stupid is as stupid does" kind of thing.
Still others like notoriety. They like being right and was thinking of Balaam today and the donkey speaking to him. Now Balaam was a prophet and he ignored God's will, so God opened the mouth of his donkey to rebuke him. Still, within the enormity of this supernatural element of a talking animal, it was Balaam who began to argue with a dumb beast. (Numbers 22:25-30)

It was one hot day I believe in the summer of"68 and my dad was building fence. He had added some livestock, and was having our cousins help him build a stronger fence.  Now when my dad built a fence, the cedar posts for the corners was put into cement and was expected to be there for many years.

Now of this one specific day, one  of the young fellows was not agreeing with the work ethic. For my dad, integrity was important as was the quality of work to be done. Every "man" was expected to do his fair share of work if being paid for doing it!

The other variable was of teamwork and somehow one member was not up to the job or work to be done! So yes, a story came out about it. Yet, all of us at some time did not like the work that had to be done, but someone has to do it. YOU can find that out when you and your husband have given birth to a baby and when it is time to change "the baby's diaper".
One such day I remember being at work. It was like the beginning of a new year. People were excited, talking fast about their new year resolutions and losing more weight to gain more muscle mass. Anyway, this young boy decided to be "sick" in the very middle of the room where we had about 20+ kids playing. With rain outside and some high wind, it was not good to take the kids out of doors. Still the room had to be cleared and some of the adults moved as fast as they could to get some of the younger kids away from "the sick" on the floor!
Many of the "kids" were moved to another area of the main office.
Left standing there were two of us adults. YOU guessed it...we cleaned it all up and sprayed the carpet and sprayed the air then we sprayed our clothes.....Yikes!

Yes, some people have their ideas about work and that work ethic includes: integrity, teamwork, but it also includes quality and discipline for that job. But when our dedication to the job is beyond ourselves, then we can do for others. For we should not be like Balaam who argued with a donkey nor we would or should we be arguing with a fence post or arguing with an animal.

Today, I can look back and hear some of my "dad's tales" and remember he had some mistakes in his life, but he learned from them and made people his priority. We too can see things that should be done but will require some discipline rather than just thinking of that "paycheck" but it is about people's lives and helping them be better too! In allowing laughter, we can see the mistake and avoid it.

I long for the laughter to fill our house as it filled my parent's home those summer days. I long to see people filled with the Holy Spirit and to know that God has a place for them when they receive His Son. For within our existence, we learn many things, but family and laughter is key. To do anything less is sin! Without laughter we stagnate the atmosphere. If we abide in doom and gloom we will fall victim to our own abilities and our own way of doing much like Balaam did!

For each of us face hundreds of choices and decisions daily. Fortunately most of them are not life-altering.
Should I go with veggies for all my meals only today or "all week"?  Should I get the ultra-whitening toothpaste or the kind of vitamin that restores brain cells? Oh yeah, I need to lose about five pounds of weight!

But just as surely  as the new year begins, many of us face difficult and life-changing decisions. I’m so grateful for God’s incredible promise in Psalms 32:8:I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.
As my father taught us to laugh, our Father God teaches and guides us for his own glory. Our Father desires to lead our lives of maximum effectiveness and fruitfulness for His glory. He desires to display his goodness, kindness, mercy, and transforming power through us. God wants to counsel us more than we want His counsel.

He shows us the way to go because He is a loving Father.
Let's not argue with God our Father about anything. Let's just do what He asks us to do. My father asked that we obeyed His instructions and when it was time to leave home, we knew a job was a good thing, being married to the right person was a good thing as well and laughter would add zest to our lives.
Laughter is a good medicine for us everyday. Let us find that merry heart in God, obey His commands and expect laughter to invade our homes. Truly the joy of the Lord is our Strength: The spirit of rejoicing, joy and laughter is our heritage. Where the spirit of the Lord is, there is Liberty….an emancipation from bondage………… Maintaining that walk as the son is by the Holy Spirit and it is by our remaining in the joy of the Lord who is our strength! Amen

The Public Display

The Public Display

Matthew 15:2-3 Why do Your disciples transgress and violate the rules handed down by the elders of the past? For they do not practice [ceremonially] washing their hands before they eat. 3 He replied to them, And why do you transgress and violate the commandment of God for the sake of the rules handed down to you by your forefathers (the elders)?
Thayers Lexicon:3845 (parabaino) to overstep, to neglect, to violate...to transgress...

Jesus was reminding them it was of more importance to obey the commandments of God than to obey those ceremonially rules set down by men!
2 John 9 Amplified Bible 9 anyone who runs on ahead [of God] and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ [who is not content with what He taught] does not have God; but he who continues to live in the doctrine (teaching) of Christ [does have God], he has both the Father and the Son.

Willing to transgress what God has given is foolish indeed!

willful: with set purpose; self-determined; without yielding to reason; obstinate; stubborn
From 3845 parabaino :to transgress in a defiant will; someone who knows the right way but chooses to go their own way in contrariness
Psalm 101:2 I will behave myself wisely and give heed to the blameless way---O when will You come to me? I will walk within my house in integrity and with a blameless heart.

Yeah the heart has a lot to do with our following God. Staying in His protection, knowing Him is to give heed to His way of righteousness! That if we are in Him, we are to remain within that righteous walk that is holiness!  He is perfection, He is the mighty God, our Counsel.
Filling our heart with His kind of peace and wisdom, then we will truly know Him and follow a good path!

If you read on in Psalm 101 you become aware that following God is really about having nothing to do with evil and the evil person or thing close to us. Being aware of what God has given those who follow Him are those who will not slander his neighbor and will not tolerate the haughty look. For truly our eyes should be on those who walk faithfully with God and always looking out for the neighbor.

Was thinking of all the headlines today and those marching for some cause! Then I remembered the one anchor person of a news program mentioned a 'peaceful protest'. Now how did they come up with that?
Let's see: protest has the meaning of complaint, objection, or display of unwillingness usually to an idea or to course of action . Will publicly display their approval....by an organized demonstration of their disapproval.
Then peaceful has the meaning: a peaceful place; not involving war, violence; without worry and excitement.
The Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English: peaceful people do not like violence and do not behave in a violent manner.

God is not only supreme in power and authority, but He is also supreme in judgment. In the greatness of God,  His very mind pierces through all of the justifications we make to excuse our bad attitudes and conduct as measured against His righteous standard.
Oh yeah, God has a righteous standard!

If we are truly followers and find our trust wholly in Him, then we would have faith to recognize and know His justice and be willing to operate in it.
We are not be followers of the world, but followers of Jesus Christ. And just like Jesus, we can come under persecution. But we are to remain faithful to God and know He loves us greatly to send His Son to die for us. So being reminded of God and His sense of justice, we must consider carefully what it is we are focused on and is it for His glory or for me to make a stand for me?
Again, it comes back to the attitude of our heart.
So in planning to go out for a 'march' we must consider is this a small thing. Could this be something of an event that will make no impact if it is done in being peaceful? Do we ask Him if it is good for us to do this? Or is this just a whim? Certainly there are many causes in the world today, but what we think of as the little matter may turn out for bad thing, the bad road and destruction to us.

Facing serious consequences will truly be known when we go outside the boundary of God. He is firm about us being obedient to His word. We are reminded in Romans 1: 18-21 Amplified Bible this: 18 For God's  [holy] wrath and indignation are revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who in their wickedness repress and hinder the truth and make it inoperative. 19 For that which is known about God is evident to them and made plain in their consciousness, because God [Himself] has shown it to them. 20 For ever since the creation of the world His invisible nature and attributes , that is, His eternal power and divinity have been made intelligible and clearly discernible in and through the thing that have been made (His handiworks). So [men] are without excuse (altogether with any defense or justification. 21 Because when they knew and recognized Him as God, they did not honor and glorify Him as God or give Him thanks. But instead they became futile and godless in their thinking [with vain imaginings, foolish reasoning, and stupid speculations] and their senseless minds were darkened.

Yikes! Without God who is Light, then man's mind is darkened. The man operating out of  "the darkened mind" is given over to speculation. In their speculating, they will act out as the fool for they are given no firm evidence. They operate out of wrong beliefs, that false evidence and move in places void of peace, or life! Without the truth of God, they move into the arena of their own opinion, explore by taking a hunch and end up in jeopardy. Destruction!

To whom much is given, of him shall be much required. ….What of Jesus are we giving to people? Are we being easy & trying to make our Lord and Savior more digestible to others? Are we Dressing HIM up or changing His character to suit their character & ours?
Do we go out to march and say it is for the Lord? Or do we just go out for the 'march' just for the sake of people seeing us "march"?

Is our culture so steeped in convenience…that we neglect the spiritual of Jesus & follow a culture that is bankrupt because we left God out.  When we try bringing entertainment, we can totally reduce our involvement and our expectations in reaching others for Him.  If we really look at what is going on today, we would focus on that if Jesus is not the center of any family, then chaos can ensue. You can see that from guns in schools to people taking a motor vehicle to run someone else down. If we don't have our salvation, have our hearts set with Jesus allowing the Holy Spirit to speak to us and live by the commands given, then most likely we resemble the world!

We are reminded of this: Proverbs 24:1-4 Amplified Bible BE not envious of evil men, nor desire to be with them; 2 for their minds plot oppression and devise violence and their lips talk of causing trouble and vexation. 3 Through skillful and godly Wisdom is a house ( a life, a home, a family) built, and by understanding it is established [on a sound and good foundation], 4 And by knowledge shall its chambers [of every area]be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.

If we are going out in our name, then this is easily viewed as one in immoral conduct. Understand that people who know not God pay little attention. And they have no responsibilities to Him or for Him. He is disregarded.....again yikes! Remember He can cast one into Hell! And He certainly deserves our praise for all that His love has given to us especially for that displayed on the Cross! If one would take a moment to look into the face of a newborn baby, see the beauty of magnificent colors at sunset, and realize this was not a 'big bang' thing!
If making a difference is important find out where you play the part in the plan God has in motion. Ask Him if that is where you belong! So if God is not vital to this and within this very cause to march about, then we find no cause to be obedient to His will being done on earth in us as it is in heaven. Being willful is having the face of attitude that which is considered serious indeed.  Bad attitude is always bad, causes problems, and will defy life for the good. Knowing that God is committed to us, then we should also remember He is serious. AND He is very serious about fulfilling His purposes on earth.

In receiving salvation, our walk was and is as the "disciple". Disciples are followers of Jesus. Our focus priority is Jesus as He was, is and will always BE the LIFE! Taking the territory for Jesus is that we are not on the sidelines cheering others on. We are to be the church without walls! It looks like the committed with an undivided and a dedicated life humbled to seeing His kingdom come.
So  if you are going out for that "march" consider talking to the Father about it. Tell Him your concerns and what troubles you about what is going on in the 'streets'. Ask Him if you will be safe and wise to go! And if He is for you going out, then ask what you will speak by the Holy Spirit to others that will bring them to God.

Pray and ask Him what your step might be in this "coming march". For our greatest value to God our Father is in the here and now of this moment on earth. It certainly should be for His glory if we dare go out. And when going out in His name, then certainly is the glory due to His holy name.
Certainly engage culture but understand it is not for the fainthearted. If you go out in your name and being willful not to obey God then you go it alone!
That is not a safe place to be, outside the will of God. Another question to ask, especially to you is will you influence by  the speaking of peace, the good in God or you just going to be influenced by the world.
Each of us has role to participate for God and His glory and the world is opposed and contrary to God. But ours is not to make the gospel acceptable to man but just to make it available to those who does not know God!
Proverbs 26:27 whoever digs a pit [for another man's feet] shall fall into himself and he who rolls a stone [up a height to do mischief]; it will return upon him.
Proverbs 28:10 whoever leads the upright astray into an evil way, be will himself fall into his own pit, but the blameless will have a goodly inheritance.

Rest tonight, pray and tomorrow rise to live the life Jesus came to give us. Rise to be the blameless. Shine in His glory, prosper in His word, and deliver His truth to your community. And then do it because He said it was a "good thing to do".

Would Jesus take Selfies of Himself?

In that selfie.....it is just you they see or ......?
Just wonder as much publicity of the selfies and the amount of damage one can cause say to breakables in the fine glass art gallery or even to those getting hurt in dangerous places like ledges of a rock slide in a national park could we see Jesus interested in any of this activity?

On July 14, 2017, there was a woman taking selfies and caused $200,000 worth of damage at an art exhibition at Simon Birch in Los Angeles when she leaned on a plinth knocking it and causing a domino-style chain reaction that knocked at least 12 other exhibits over.

My husband had brought this to my attention and thought it would be a good title to write about. So I prayed a lot!
So in bringing this together, I thought of our days and asking the Lords' plan that His will be done in us and through us.
Just a thought as I go through the day, either at home or out is that we are most likely going to be seeing people so enthused with the camera and selfie thing. Yet, I am amazed that some are still living from the dangerous feats they tried or of the out of control maneuvers applied and then I wondered again how they had come out alive from their active picture taking fiasco.
Now I certainly know it does not happen to all, but some seem to invite danger into their lives and their homes. They certainly walk on the "danger zone" for some of their fiascoes. And some had cost them some big bucks!

My husband and I were watching the Funniest Home Videos last night and I guess I was surprised to see how some things so dangerous are funny to some. I always wonder what amount of hospital time some of them had acquired from like being thrown from a horse to being kicked in a really bad place and this was children like 3 and 5 years old. YIKES!

If the technology had been available to Jesus do you think He would have used it to the extent it is today? My husband and I saw a driver the other day that could not stay in his lane. We either surmised him to be drunk or trying to text something. Either way is not good but only harmful to them and those they collide with while enjoying answering from the wrong lane of traffic. Someone had asked how our day was gong and we shared the ride over to the city. We told of the driver ahead of us and how they seemed to need both lanes to drive. The gentleman we shared this information thought we might have been mistaken but still either way, any distraction is bad and especially to those it effects.

I heard something the other day that I wondered about too! The woman stated she always thought herself overweight and when going back through some old photos, she found she did not appear fat at all. In her view, she wished she were the size that she had when she thought she was terribly overweight than what she actually is today in the overweight category.

No I do not believe Jesus would be the Selfie person! I believe Him to be satisfied in Who He was, Is and will always BE!
Jesus said this in John 5.

John 5:44  Amplified Bible  44 How is it possible for you to believe [how can you learn to believe], you who [are content to seek and] receive praise and honor and glory from one another, and yet do not seek the praise & honor &  glory which come from Him Who alone is God?
Are we seeking God’s praise?
In this question Jesus is addressing those who accused Him of blasphemy. While His desire is for them to be saved, yet they are unwilling to accept His offer of  life (believe).  Jesus was pointing to the truth that: one cannot honor the Father apart from honoring the Son….He was obeying the Father’s commands!

Jesus told us that those who come to Him will never hunger............SO.....…what hunger…is there a facet of our life that that needs food…is there something we crave….to fill some hungering need….as love, acceptance, attention, praise

Believe in Him and never thirst to dip into that well of life… what well do we dip into: Facebook, E-bay, or maybe Cell phones to text another.
But Jesus said this:
John 14:6-13    NKJV  6 Jesus said to him, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life:. “No one comes to the Father except through Me. 7 “If you had known Me, you would have known the Father also; and from now on You know Him and have seen Him.” 8 Philip said to HIM, “Lord show us the Father & it is sufficient for us.” 9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long and yet you have not known Me, Philip?” He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, & the Father in Me?” ‘The words that I speak to you, I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.” “Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.
No one gets to the Father without first acknowledging Jesus
1.         This passage should epitomize our lives: that encapsulated within the Father and the Son in us so that experience the same works…
2.         Jesus was pointing them to the Father always
3.         He was pointing them to truth and life
4.         The Authority Jesus spoke was from the Father
5.         The works were from the Father…the Creator…

So in view of the Selfie: what are we pointing to? Jesus always points to truth and life. Jesus had authority that was from the Father. And certainly the works were from the Creator!

In the HONOR: Jesus knew who He was….”I AM”…..it was given to us in:Exodus 3:14 God said to Moses: “I AM Who I AM—thus you shall say to the children of Israel…”I AM” has sent me to you!

Recognizing the True: That which is of REAL Value…Let’s look again at: .John 5:44  Amp Bible  44 How is it possible for you to believe [how can you learn to believe], you who [are content to seek &] receive praise & honor & glory from one another, and yet do not seek the praise and honor and glory which come from Him Who alone is God?  We must dip into the well of the Living Water to believe…..Jesus and the Father are ONE..

Everyone that crosses our path or within where we reside and abide should know in whom we give our boast! Wherever you or I work, play or travel; others should know our love for the Lord! We should look different, act different…….bold in speaking truth and stand for Jesus.
In our sphere of influence: we will carry Jesus….He is “I Am” & He is in our midst…..
God is personal, living, active, all-knowing, He is all-wise, and all-powerful!  We can know God the Father and do as Jesus did by proclaiming boldly of the confidence we hold in our relationship with the Father as well as in a prayer life that is built on the cornerstone of Christ's work & words as shown by the prophets& apostles  we saw from Moses and Paul!
Honoring God should be so important that the praise of  men or from men for it is by the BLOOD OF THE CROSS…was the Sacrifice for all who would believe.

May we truly get beyond ourselves to see that we are to “ “Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4 Let each of you (us) look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interest of others.   (Philip 2:3-4)
May we pray to be those who will sit at Jesus’ feet like Mary did and learn of Him always, and serve like Martha.
In this time of the Resurrection of Jesus from the dead, may we be the thankful to the Father of lights in whom there is no variableness or shadow of turning.  Let us be thankful for Him who was not consumed in Himself but chose to give of HIMSELF TO GIVE US LIFE THAT WE MIGHT LIVE UNTO THE FATHER.
Father thank YOU for the sacrifice of your SON….the Sacrifice for all who would believe, may our whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen
Jesus must increase and we must decrease! Self -infatuation has no room for God. For Jesus came to save that which was lost, not to refine our flesh creature. Reading Romans 6: and Galatians 2:20 affirms that the flesh is to die. Galatians 2:20 Amp. Bible I have been crucified with Christ [in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Messiah), lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
Until we choose to be willing to crucify our selfie-mindset, we cannot and will not be His true disciples!

An Inside Job

Let heaven come.....

Deuteronomy 5:29: "Oh, that they had such a heart in them that they would fear Me and always keep all My commandments, that it might be well with them and with their children forever!"

Which of these - the will to carry forward what we have received or the heart - is more important to growth in conversion and leaving Babylon? Which of them is subject to the other? Is the will a self-determining agent, or does something else determine it?

There were two trees in the Garden of Evil: Genesis 2:9 And out of the ground the LORD God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

The Word of God teaches that the heart or mind is the dominating center of our being.
Consider a circumstance that each of us faces, perhaps many times on any given day. If a person has before him two options, which will he choose? Unless some overriding reason exists, he will choose the one most agreeable to him, that is, to his heart, his innermost being.

What if the choice is between moral or immoral alternatives? If as the person uses phrases like "the ole sinner" It is then evident he must choose between godliness and sinful indulgence,! His object is seeking "the heart's desire". So which will he select? He will choose the latter because he prefers it, all arguments to the contrary notwithstanding.

Well Jesus taught and reinforced this very specific point. In Matthew 15:19-20 Amplified Bible 19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts (reasonings, and disputings and designs) such as murder, adultery, sexual vice, theft, false witnessing, slander and irreverent speech. 20 These are what make a man unclean and defile [him]; but eating with unwashed hands does not make him unclean or defile him.

So what we see from the above, the heart holds the evil thoughts, that which is of disputes and has designs for murder, harm to another human being.
So again, the heart, that which we regard as our mind, will and emotions can rule and certainly have various influences affecting the course of life.
Proverbs 4:20-23 confirms this:

My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep your heart with all diligence, for out it spring the issues of life.

This certainly is an "inside job"!
We all have habits either strong or shaky. To be strong and choosing right ways, we stay the course for the Tree of Life. If we have taken to choosing right, following in the way of Jesus our Shepherd and Savior, we are to become disciplined in the Word, and quick to follow instructions.
But if we are of the shaky attitude, the aimless, without peace and planning through God and His word, we become the "one going somewhere to happen".

The same is true of the one with strong standards from God's Word, they will follow the rules of the road, take note when roads are closed and turn around to not drown.
Yet you find those who will climb fences to get that "magnificent camera shot of the waterfalls even though, due to fire, the place is deemed dangerous to people and is fenced off even with razor wire!. For them, anything goes, and it generally will appear one day for them, that they come to the end of their weak attitude toward life. We will read of their unfortunate demise and how they were taken so quickly, yet they lived their lives in that hapless, fast moving mode of life!

If we come from two parents, raised by two parents, each will certainly show the positive affects. Growing up in America would certainly prove positive to living in a country where battles are the on- going thing like you find  in some middle eastern countries today.
So you come from two parents: male and female and within that barrier then you would have children growing up with two parents, living in chaos free zone, living in a community where children attend school, have three meals a day and expect to go to college one day!
On the other side of the spectrum: you find children raised independently.

The child or children will have behaviors that cause them to rebel since they had no instruction in TRUTH. If either parents were absent from their up-bringing and they ultimately were raised by Grandma, their outlook and attitudes would certainly be different from those who had both parents within the home. Even those children who live in foreign countries may have to grow up independently and create their own form of values.
But our values that we develop for the most part would be that we would treat others how we would desire to be treated ourselves. So in the "heart" of each person, there  is one of those two trees from the Garden of Eden.  Knowing that it is the heart that determines one's preferences, those inclinations or choice would be revealed by their will to do it!  God directed Adam and Eve not to eat from the tree of good and evil. His plan was to protect, but it was also to prove of His joy for them that they followed His ways and doings in the Garden.

I like the scripture passage from James 3:11-18 Amplified Bible
11 Does a fountain send forth [simultaneously] from the same opening fresh water and bitter? 12 Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives or a grapevine figs? Neither can a salt spring furnish fresh water. 13 Who is there among you who is wise and intelligent? Then let him by his noble living show forth his [good] works with the [unobtrusive] humility [ which is the proper attribute] of true wisdom. 14 But if you have bitter jealousy (envy) and contentious (rivalry, selfish ambition) in your hearts, do not pride yourselves on it and thus be in defiance of and false to the Truth.
15 This [superficial] wisdom is not such as comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual (animal), even devilish (demoniacal). 16 For wherever there is jealousy (envy) and contention (rivalry, selfish ambition ), there will also be confusion (unrest, disharmony, rebellion ) and all sorts of evil and vile practices.
17 But the wisdom from above is first of all pure (undefiled); then it is peace loving, courteous (considerate, gentle). It is willing  to yield to reason, full of compassion and good fruits: it is wholehearted and straightforward, impartial and unfeigned (free from doubts, wavering ad insincerity).  18 And the harvest of righteousness ( of conformity to God's will in thought and deed) is the fruit of the seed] sown in peace by those who work for and make peace [in themselves and in others, that peace which means concord, agreement, and harmony between individuals, with undisturbedness, in a peaceful mind free from fears and agitating passions and moral conflicts].

Yes it is certain that how we were brought up plays a big role in our lives. It all begins in the heart. And was our heart nurtured in the things that lead to life or to death?

It starts with the heart of each of us! To whom we will serve. There are two trees: one is for life and the other we were told not to eat from.
May each of us keep the unity of the Spirit through a bond of peace set by the Lord in one faith, in one baptism, and one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all things.
May we choose life, regard the Word, when spoken, is alive and active and that it has its home in our hearts. Today, may God have His way in our lives by His Holy Spirit for it is Jesus Who sits on the throne of our hearts. May we know that Word dwells in us in all richness , as we teach, admonish, and train each other in all insight, intelligence and wisdom in spiritual songs, making melody to God our Father, with grace of God in our hearts!
May we today abide in the peace of God where there is no confusion, no waffling, no jealousy of any kind. May we know that God's word will not return to Him void, but will accomplish to where it is sent..
May we not choose rebellion, but choose oneness with God, to hold up His word and to speak clearly that we have expectancy in our hearts to never be the same. That we hold to Him and desire greatly to see His glory come in our lives.
Father, Your divine will be done on earth in us as it is in Heaven. Today we choose to totally lean on YOU and learn of YOUR wisdom, drawing on Your strength and filled with Your quietness……that is bringing the Results we believe for us who believe together in unity and harmony. May this bless YOU and bring beautiful music, a lovely sound to YOUR hearing Father. Amen and amen.........let heaven come......

To Become All God Destined

Voice of Prayer
Psalm 1: 1-3  Amplified Bible  1 Blessed (Happy, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans and purpose], nor stands [submissive and inactive] in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down [to relax and rest], where the scornful [and the mockers] gather. 2 But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree firmly planted [and tended] by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither; and everything he does shall prosper [and come to maturity].

Have meditated on this and was thinking on it today! Now it gives some guidance in that the blessed, yet the fortunate and prosperous man is the one who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly.
Now it goes on to say that we are not to follow the advice of the ungodly, not stand submissive to the ungodly's way of thinking and doing. We are told that standing in the paths of sinners we are not to be submissive to them or nor inactive.........that is we should just be raising the Word of God.

Was working on a teaching for this week and was reading in 3 John 3 and it states: For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in truth.
Now that walk of faith is active, always steadfast enduring to the end. And it appears as faithfulness to the Gospel. It does not appear faithful to nonsense but does appear as light to guide others out of darkness.

We were those who had to be rehabilitated to the truth of God. We were those who at one time lived in the world, acted as the world........that which leans toward living in pretense, the dishonesty that can strain any relationship.
Just try to have a relationship with someone who has one foot in God's kingdom and one in the world! Walking in the light reveals who we really are. Within that truth we also find the weaknesses present in us. But the Holy Spirit is available! He is available and came to comfort when we received Jesus as Lord of our lives!

In the love of God and His direction, others should know us clearly. That is we imitate God and not the world. We put on our clothes like others, and we treat others like we desire to be treated. It is the Holy Spirit that can keep us from stumbling and to present us faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy. (Jude 24)
If we are "sad sack" then we are far from the joy we should be exhibiting. Stay away from those who consider themselves the "sensual" that is they consider themselves more spiritual than you. They operate out of the world and that has no life in it.
But that which is of God brings light to the weaknesses and helps us see clearly to walk in truth, knowing where obstacles might be hidden and see them either be dissolved before us or see them become that nonexistent thing!
Isaiah 41:11-13 NKJV 11 "Behold, all those who were incensed against you shall be ashamed and disgraced; they shall be as nothing, and those who strive with you shall perish. 12 You shall seek them and not find them----Those who contended with you, Those who war against you shall be as nothing, as a nonexistent thing. 13 For I, the LORD your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, 'Fear not, I will help you.'

Again, we must know we have the Holy Spirit today and every day.
In being effective, we must pray. Prayer has power over everything. Although you might find some people who think prayer is a waste of time, still the Bible declares: ""the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much." (James 5:16)
To reaching people who do not know Jesus, we must pray. And it starts with us; it starts with you and with me. We are to know that fullness of joy in John 16:23-24, to know the peace of God in Philippians 4:6-8, and freedom from anxiety in 1 Peter 5:7.

In prayer, our spiritual reunion in Christ Jesus liberates us to freedom in the Holy Spirit. We ask in His Name the things we desire for our families and for this nation: "that once again it will be one nation under God". We pray believing we receive that our joy is that joy of the Lord that is our strength.
We pray from Philippians 4:6-8 that we be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving let our requests be made known to God and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. That as we cast our day upon Him, He guides us through it. We loose the Holy Spirit into every circumstance and through the love of God we move through without worry or distractions.

In the love of God we will move through each day telling others of the goodness of God, the Son of His love that died in our place and that we live now unto God and to see His glory revealed. If not us, then who, and if not now, then when? For truly people are dying of unthinkable things today: from many strains of the flu, to dying in homelessness, to dying without God in many pressures and forces of the enemy. Yet we have protection dwelling in that secret place and having that hedge of protection we should be willing and without doubt to make a difference to not only pray for others but to tell them of Jesus.
That tree from Psalm 1 surely needs some tending and to the regard of it producing fruit, may it be that which God intended for us to produce for His purpose.

3 And he shall be like a tree firmly planted [and tended] by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither; and everything he does shall prosper [and come to maturity].
May we mature in the Lord and become all that He destined for us to become. Amen!
