Don't Live Like a Refugee

Voice of Prayer: Storms come, but do not be defined by them.
Was thinking of this title for about two weeks. I then remembered the lyrics of an "old" Tom Petty song that was done some decades ago, and asked the Lord what I should write about.

Now from that song, he mentions being burned by other lovers and in respect, the world can provide many lover's, but to whom will we trust our hearts to?
Being held for a ransom, literally tied up into something of the world is a "really bad place" to be. Yet there are many who are not saved today. They have not turned to hear His voice, the Lord of glory, but have continued to walk and hold onto abandonment, brokenness and pain.

Refugee: one who flees for safety, either from war, forced out by hurricanes and tornadoes.
The Collins Dictionary gives this meaning: REFUGEES are people who have been forced to leave their homes or their country, either because there is war, because of political or religious beliefs or because of natural disasters.

Bad things can occur. We live an world with an evil ruler (satan), yet our hearts are to be set on Jesus Christ the Lord of glory. Understanding that He is to leads us, yet I wonder how many are still placed in harm's way. More bad can come upon the world when sin is prevailing.

Scripture tells us in Matthew 5:44-45..."love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you. 45 "that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes the sun rise on the evil and o the good; and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

We may not want to think about that sin thing! But when a nation turns from the things God they move into harm's way.  I remember this family who moved out of harm's way in the Texas area. They moved many miles due north of them to be doing "what the Lord asked them to do".
So today they are high and yes dry. They have their home and safety as well.

But even if you are in the as we say "bad zone", the Lord has a way out. Being Christian should not be one who just functions within a "church building". They should not to consider that they are cutting edge when they remain closed up like Jericho behind closed doors. (The difference, the world is going to get them, instead the Lord has come  live within us and show us to take the land for His own glory.) If God is truly in us and with us we should be taking the land for His glory.

Recently I had written on standing like Esther. We should stand in the face of any real situation that can kill, yet when we know God is with us, we stand victoriously just like Esther and she did it through prayer. In Scripture we find others as well who took the "hard " road if you will allow it. They took what is known as a non-antagonistic stance toward the world. In Daniel and Joseph, we saw relationship precedes any ministry.
You cannot lead anyone you cannot influence. If we are cut-outs that just fit within the building...then we will be of no value where it counts. It is a real service to speak prophetically to your congregation but what about speaking that in the marketplace?

There has been many violent storms come through the coast lands as well as many fires inland of this great country. Yet are we speaking of God 's goodness and are we going into all the world or is is just about "that" Saturday night service or Sunday morning service.

In Dr. Bernard's Greek translations he introduced three such words for "world".
One is found in Matthew 13:22. Within this speaking of Jesus, "the cares of this world (aion) refers us to the period of time, to a generation that is in human history.

A second one is found Matthew 24:14. Again in Jesus' speaking, it is, "This gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world (oikuomene) as a witness to all the nations." Oikuomene means land, territories and geographical nations.

Then Dr. Bernard gave alos a third meaning for world that is found in Mark 16:15. Again within Jesus' speaking,  "Go into all the world (kosmos) and preach the gospel to every creature." This use of kosmos by Christ is very interesting indeed.  Within this meaning we find it means to penetrate every social order, arrangement or culture—the way human society is organized. Yes, we are to penetrate the culture with God's word.

Have had many a talk with my husband and son-on-law as well about how to penetrate the culture as it is. If you have been in church for any length of time you will find it is divided into what is known as the the society in seven pillars.
They are : (1) religion, (2) family, (3) business, (4) education, (5) government, (6) arts, and (7) media. The latter five of business, education, government, arts and media make up what is called the "marketplace."
In understanding we are given the command to "go", then we also understand that Jesus gave us that to "preach" but also to engage.
(In a recent teaching from Life Giving Wells, the Lord gave me the teaching for "God Devised Glorification". Within that teaching we are to engage, not remain within "four walls".

Whether you have been abused by a hurricane, hit by a fast moving tornado or seen raging fires within your community, state or country, still the mandate still holds. We are to engage and in that point to engage that social order within any territory and yes the marketplace we must prove to be the relevant.
I have seen people in the last ten years to stop their teachings and pull up couches to just "chat it up" about some distant memory of God from their youth or early years of ministry but mention nothing of His majesty and glory that prevails when we come on a bent knee to pray in Jesus' name and to live like He purposed: not as a refugee from the area of 'hard knocks', volatile situations but to live for His glory in His peace and His victory. AND that is for today, to live for Him, and expect Him to prevail for us.
There are many people misplaced, and some without anything much to return to but ashes. Do not allow the devil to tell you are finished! Do not allow him to lie to you! It is not over! Get up, dust off and heed God!

And for those who have been through it already, what about our taking part in prayer for those affected, and what about some support from our check-book for those affected, and what about food from our own pantry to support another,  and from the prayer room of our house?
No we cannot be in all places like God, but when we pray, we live outside of the box. When we pray we seek the face of God and see things change for the glory of God and for the safety of His people things happen, the environment is changed and life appears again.
Living out the Pharisaical route should not be considered among us.
I remember reading once of Pastor Kong Hee wrote and preached that people of the church were not to live like they are carving out a Christian ghetto for themselves. He wrote they who do live that way, live in legalism and continue to make man-made rules. He said in that environment, members of the Christian faith would be taught to see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil.
Yes, each one of them within that congregation would remain unexposed to the world around them and remain also very innocent to those things as he related.

Ours is to live a life unhindered. If we truly live within Jesus's teachings, adhere to that truth only and do as He does we would be outside of the walls more often. God truly wants to keep us safe and if we obey Him, then we should be found with Him in truth, love, peace, holding onto faith that we are purposed to live for Him. Whatever the occurrence in your life, yet God is alive and He hears us when we really seek Him in prayer.

We are not to live as "refugees". We are to live for God to see His glory come and fill this earth, not just within four-walls of a church building. Today, I pray that you would know when God is speaking. And it will not be from the lazy boy recliner of life. We must be immersed in Him, His word, and be those who will pray those truths out. May the Father of Light reveal to you what is on your pathway, and may you heed those detours and obey to move ahead when the going is clear, yet remember He said I will never leave you nor will I ever forsake you. Where ever you may be at this moment and whatever condition, obey the Lord's leading and go in His peace. Live life to the full, and fear not. Remember, " seek first the kingdom of God and all these things shall be added to you. Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom."  ( Luke 12:31-32) Amen.

That Enduring House

Voice of Prayer: Photo R. Twiner
Was recalling the scripture this morning from 1 Samuel 25:28 where Abigail tells David that he has an enduring house because he was fighting the battles of the LORD and evil was not found in him throughout all his days.
David certainly had issues, yet he would turn back to God and God's ways. One note here is that not instructing his children in the ways of the LORD proved to a disadvantage when Adonijah wanted to take the throne and make himself "king".
Abigail spoke of a knowing of what evil and harsh was all about for her husband Nabal was the exact form of evil.

But thinking toward the future, that enduring house would go forward from David through Solomon toward the manifestation of Jesus Christ!

IN David we saw a man after God’s own heart. He wrote some Psalms and they were captured for our benefit. He revealed the glory of God, his problem and how the prayer would be given. Each Psalm he purposed through the Holy Spirit reveals that God was foremost on his mind.
Then we find Jesus, himself and as a house of prayer. His teachings to the disciples was one we could model no doubt.  His example was that He was continually withdrawing from the Father of light.
He had conversation with His Father drawing strength from that intimate relationship He had in heaven. From this intimate time and relationship is one we can have because Jesus Christ came and hung on a cross to pay the price for us with his life!
Displaying a life of prayer and worship to the Father, prayer was seen as a longing of closeness restored to the once lost sinner. In the born again state, we are brought back to life. It is that valued communication with the Father to see Him and hear Him. Prayer will expand heaven on earth.

An enduring house is one that God has set in place. It is a place of the “saved”, born again to His purpose and plans. The enduring house is the place of revering the “awesome “God and bringing His words into our speaking and by praying them daily!

In abiding in His enduring house of prayer, we find what the defective within our hearts may be. Whatever is defective we should TAKE AIM AT to restore to soundness, rather than to suffer the defect to be increased. RATHER THAN LOOKING ON THE PROBLEM, LOOKING TO THE ANSWER!
In 2 Tim 1:7…we are reminded...For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.   (well-balanced)  It is in God’s power…that we are completely regulated & influenced, so as to think,  speak,  &  act   AS GOD WOULD SPEAK IN ALL THINGS!

Our trust is to be in God. With our whole heart, we lean not to our own understanding, not to other’s opinions and ideas, but to God’s ways. In all our ways to life, living, to children and to those we might work with or come in contact with in ministry, we should have the Lord’s wisdom on it.  For if we pay attention to the news, or some form information that is full of the world’s wisdom we gain only the world. But the wisdom that is from above, that which is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy. And the seed whose fruit is righteousness sown in peace by those who make peace. (James 3:17)
If Jesus is truly our Lord, then discernment will be found as wisdom on our lips. May we be the prudent who activate the Holy Spirit in all that is purposed for us and not our own plans.
As the enduring house, we will act like Jesus and sound like Jesus. Our every decision must be based on prayer in the Word of God that is of sound wisdom.
Father God, may we be those who speak with wisdom and have faithful instruction on our tongues and “Not just what someone wants to hear”! On bent knee we bless the Father of light and have no part in darkness. It is the goodness of God that we will declare to others. Father may we bless YOU in this Word and in this day by bringing honor to YOUR holy Name. Amen.

We are to BE Kingdom Administrators

Voice of Prayer
Kingdom Administrators: Not by fleshy works of men, nor of the viciousness of the devils works but by Prayer is the "intimate access to petition the king." We do not have intimate fellowship with just anybody, but to the King of all the universe!
Accessing the King we have access to His power!  Jesus brought us Light... It is not that prayer itself has the power, but that we have access to the One who has the power. As God's people and His son’s we have the responsibility to ask of Him things that are according to His will.

Ephesians 5:15-18 Amplified Bible 15 Look carefully then how you walk! Live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as the unwise and witless, but as wide ( sensible, intelligent people.) 16 Making the very most of the time [buying up each opportunity], because the days are evil. 17 therefore do not be vague and thoughtless and foolish but understanding firmly grasping what  the will of  the Lord is, 18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery; but ever be filled and stimulated with the [Holy] Spirit.

1 John 2:5-6  Amp. Bible 5 But he who keeps ( treasures) His Word [ who bears in mind His precepts, who observes His message in its entirety], truly in him has the love of and for God been perfected ( completed, reached maturity). By this we may perceive ( know, recognize and be sure) that we are in Him. 6 Whoever says he abides in Him ought [ as a personal debt] to walk and conduct himself in the same in which he walked and conducted Himself.

Kingdom Administrators conduct their lives through prayer. In keeping to the treasure of God's word we bear them to our heart, observing and obeying them in their entirety. As Jesus walked this way, we too are to conduct our affairs as pilgrims passing through and with prayer in mind.

Being a kingdom administrator is not taking sides, it is staying with the ONE who created us for His purpose. Abraham Lincoln stated this: "I have been driven many times to my knees by the overwhelming conviction that I had no other place to go."

We must be cautious to whom and what are we bowing our knee. Taking that altar of man's idea, behavior and complaints is the wrong altar to hold onto.  Jesus did not come to accommodate our culture, He came to set up His kingdom.

Matthew 7:13-14        NKJV….(13) "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. (14) Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. NKJV
Matthew 7:13-14      Message Bible…..13 Don’t look for shortcuts to God. The market is flooded with surefire, easygoing formulas for a successful life that can be practiced in your spare time. Don’t fall for that stuff, even though crowds of people do. The way to life---to God----is vigorous and requires total attention.

If the President of the United States needed prayer on his knees, should we not seek the Lord in prayer as well? We must stay within the boundary of His protection and to venture into the darkness where light is absent.

I like what Rabbi Jonathan Cahn wrote in his book: "The Paradigm ,The Ancient Blueprint that holds the MYSTERY of OUR TIMES. From page 228 he wrote: "So in the modern apostasy of America and the West the culture will not only seek to redefine values and morality but also those who remain faithful to God. Therefore the righteous must do as did Elijah and reject all of the apostasy's redefinitions. And they must themselves refuse to be redefined. They must hold unshakeably to the eternal laws of God.  ( I highly recommend this book so that you too might know the things God has done and is revealing today)

Anytime any one person or any one group stands against the President of a country, those are people following that which corrupts. (especially of the one God has put in place and position to lead) As Elijah was a man of prayer, he sought God with zeal. He was set against the culture of that nation where Ahab and Jezebel ruled.
Will you be a kingdom administrator or just a group joiner that joins itself with darkness? Now is the time for prayer, not only for ourselves, our families but for nations and those who rule those nations, indeed!

Standing as Esther

Allow prayer and your relationship with God move you in position!
We all affect other people's lives. No matter where you go you will at some point affect another person. You can see it when people are texting and not paying attention to their driving. You can see it when there is road rage on the highway. Have you seen it yet? If not, you will if you spend anytime driving back and forth to the workplace or the grocery market.

IN 1 Samuel we find something in Saul that he did not obey the instructions given him.
1 Samuel 13:8 Then he waited seven days, according to the time set by Samuel. But Samuel did not come to Gilgal; and the people were scattered from him. 9 So Saul said, "Bring a burnt offering and peace offerings here to me." And he offered the burnt offering. 10 Then it happened, as soon as he had finished presenting the brunt offering, that Samuel came; and Saul went out to meet him, that he might greet him.
11 And Samuel said, "What have you done?" Saul said, "When I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that you did not come within the days appointed, and that the Philistines gathered together at Michmash, 12 "then I said, 'The Philistines will now come down on me at Gilgal, and I have not made supplication to the LORD.' Therefore I felt compelled and offered a burnt offering." 13 And Samuel said to Saul, "YOU have done foolishly. "You have not kept the commandment of the LORD your God, which He commanded you. For now the LORD would have established your kingdom over Israel forever. 14 But now your kingdom shall not continue. The  LORD has sought for Himself a man after His own heart, and the LORD has commanded him to be commander over His people, because you have not kept wht the LORD commanded you."15 Then Samuel arose and went up from Gilgal to Gibeah of Benjamin. And Saul numbered the people present with him, about six-hundred men.

Saul sits on the outskirts  of Gibeah. There with him was 600 men. Out of control by not obeying God, Saul watches. He knows not where his son Jonathan is at. Ahijah the  great-grandson of Eli the former prophet in Shiloh who had seen Samuel come in to serve the LORD at 2 years of age had fallen from the graces of God and not obeyed either. So all of Eli's line was rejected by God. The Two men, Jonathan and his armor bearer go in against the Philistines. And God helps them!
but Saul has continuing wars and within 1 Samuel 14:47 he fights the Amalekites. In 1 Samuel 15:7 Saul attacked the Amalekites, from Havilah all the way to Shur, which is east of Egypt. 8  He also took Agag king of the Amalekites alive, and utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword. 9 but Saul and the people spared Agag and the best of the sheep, the oxen, the fatlings, the lambs, and all that was good, and were unwilling to utterly destroy them. But everything despised and worthless, that they utterly destroyed.

By verse 10 word has come to Samuel the prophet that God has rejected Saul. Samuel the prophet sets out to meet with Saul but when he arrives he finds "Saul went to Carmel, and indeed he set up a monument for himself; and he has gone on around, passed by and gone down to Gilgal.

In his defiant manner, he stroked his ego by building a monument for himself. He was making his own rules to live by....and calling it the LORD's.
Samuel finally has conversation with Saul! 1 Samuel 15:13 Then Samuel went to Saul and Saul said to him, "Blessed are you of the LORD! I have performed the commandment of the LORD." 14 But Samuel said, "What then is this bleating fot he sheep in my ears and the lowing of the oxen which I hear?" 15 And Saul said, "they have brought them from the Amalekites; for the people spared the best of the sheep and the oxen, to sacrifice to the LORD your God; and the rest we have utterly destroyed." 16 Then Samuel said to Saul, "Be quiet!" And I will tell you what the LORD said to me last night." And he said to him, "Speak on". 17 So Samuel said, "when you were little in your own eyes, were you not head of the tribes of Israel? And did not the LORD anoint you king over Israel?" 18 "Now the LORD sent you on a mission, and said, 'Go and utterly destroy the sinners, the Amalekites, and fight against them until they are consumed.' 19 "Why then did you not obey the voice of the LORD? Why did you swoop down on the spoil and do evil in the sight of the LORD?" 20 And Saul said to Samuel, "
but I have obedyed the voice of the LORD, and gone on the mission on which the LORD sent me and brought back Agag king of Amalek; I have utterly destroyed the Amalekites.

Then Saul again speaks: 21 "But the people took of the plunder, sheep and oxen, the best of the tings which should have been utterly destroyed to sacrifice to the LORD your God in Gilgal.

Yes, twice Saul has regarded God as Samuel's God and not as his God.  And any religious activity has no value at all! Continuing on in this passage Saul shows his true nature or colors you might say. We recall he blamed the people in verse 15. He desires to be honored but has done everything according to his own plan. He desires people to look to him but has no intent to repent of his total error against God.
In verse 32 Samuel says, "Bring Agag king of the Amalekites here to me." So Agag come to him cautiously. and Agag said, "Surely the bitterness of death is past." 33 But Sameul said, "As your sword has women childless, so shall your mother be childless among women." And Samule hacked Agag in pieces before the LORD in Gilgal.
Samuel returned to Ramah and Saul went to his house. Samuel went no more to see Saul.

Then jumping to the days of Esther.  We read of Esther and how Haman has appeared in the lives of the Jewish people because Saul did not obey God and rid the land of the Amalekites.

Esther 2 :8-17   NKJV   8 So it was, when the king’s command and decree were heard, and when many young women were gathered at Shushan the citadel, under the custody of Hegai, that Esther also was taken to the king’s place, into the care of Hegai the custodian of the women. 9 Now the young woman pleased him, and she obtained his favor; so he readily gave beauty preparations to her, besides her allowance. Then seven choice maidservants were provided for her from the king’s palace, and he moved her and her maidservants to the best place in the house of the women. 10 Esther had not revealed her people or family, for Mordecai had charged her not to reveal it. 11 And every day Mordecai paced in front on the court of the women’s quarters, to learn of Esther’s welfare and what was happening to her. 12 Each young woman’s turn came to go in to King Ahasuerus after she had completed twelve months’ preparation, according to the regulations for the women, for thus were the days of their preparations apportioned; six months with oil of myrrh, and six months with perfumes and preparations for beautifying women. 13 Thus prepared, each young woman went to the king, and she was given whatever she desired to take with her from the women’s quarters to the king’s palace. 14 In the evening she went, and in the morning she returned to the second house of the women, to the custody of Shaashgaz, the king’s eunuch who kept the concubines. She would not go in to the king again unless the king delighted in her and called for her by name. 15 Now when the turn came for Esther the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her as his daughter, to go in to the king, she requested nothing but what Hegai the king’s eunuch, the custodian of the women advised. And Esther obtained favor in the sight of all who saw her. 16 So Esther was taken to King Ahasuerus, into his royal palace, in the tenth month, which is the month of Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign. 17 The king loved Esther more than all the other women, and she obtained grace and favor in his sight more than all the virgins; so he set the royal crown upon her head and made her queen instead of Vashti.

As Queen, Esther finds herself in an environment far from where she was brought up. What ultimately looked like another face in the crowd proved to be a lot more. God was with her!

BUT within this new environment she had to heed new instructions for those in royalty and still remember what "royalty" she truly belongs to!

Favor surely came to her, but she had to follow instructions, and obey every command whether she liked it or not. Sometimes people think they know better maybe by their age or even their schooling. But it must have been Esther’s upbringing in the Lord God that brought her to the place she was meant to stand. We only looked at the first part of the walk Esther took toward being Queen. Her greatest obstacle still lay before her, yet she had made it through the first hallmark of being favored by God.
Then in comes Haman, yes descendant of King Agag. Yes, the king Agag had a pregnant wife who managed to get away from Saul and delivered a child. And the hate had continued against the Jewish people. All the while the king Ahasuerus planned to go to battle, another battle was brewing within Haman against the Jews. Haman continued to apply his subtle ways and thoughts into the king every chance he got and when chosen by the King Ahasuerus to be left in charge when the "king" was away at war appeared to bring more threats and a heavy arm against the nation. (Esther 5:11)
The plot is heard by Mordecai and he gets word to his niece Esther who is within the palace. (Esther 2:19-3: 1-15)
Led into this position Esther sets to pray and fast for the coming event. For the showdown would become evident as the days would reveal Haman's plot, not only by the letters sent out but by the gallows being built. (Esther 5:13-14)

But what Haman had planned for the Jews, God turned it around. Haman was hung on the gallows he had built. (Esther 7:9-10)
I believe this to be a "prophetic" word for those called to stand as Esther in these last days however long they may be. Being led into position, you are led into provision and protection. Seek the welfare of God's people when you find yourself standing in those positions to speak.
Understand what was allowed either before your birth or soon after, you will have stand against!
It is paramount to stay close to God and to hear His every instruction in your days ahead.

It will be in your devotion to God that He will propel you into the greatest days in the moments of history that will unfold. Remain firm, remain diligent in your worship to Him..........this is not about any "religious rules" and will not abide in opinions of you or others. It will always bring praise and glory to God that you stand in Him and reveal His purpose to a world needing Jesus! YOU WILL BE MARKED AS THE ONE SPEAKING PEACE AND SEEKING THE GOOD OF THE PEOPLE WHO ARE GOD'S!
GO now and obey the Lord's guidance and instructions. Amen!

Is that SMOKE?

Voice of Prayer: September 6, 2017
I really have no liking for the smell of smoke. And I care less for that which causes smoke. In the last 14+ days we have seen smoke in this region of the northwest. Much had been from fires in the region of Oregon, both in the mid-section of that state and also further south on their state line border with California. The air quality at times is questionable, that it has been ranging to good air quality to really bad quality. I understand that if it is of the 400 it is essentially going to kill! Now that of course is warning to those who keep their oxygen at close hand, who have a physician on call and has the needed meds to get through such a horrendous time or ordeal. Yet, we have continued to see people work outside in such conditions. We saw a man working on building his home in the White Salmon area that first week of September.

When it is still considered summer and the days really warm, it is hard to stay inside. There is the thought of wanting to go sit outside, maybe walk a mile or two or just take a tour around the yard at the back of the house just to enjoy the day!
Of recent days, we had to leave our home due to mischief of those desiring to use fireworks in the area of a dry forest. While being let go with fire, these fireworks started with a loud sound like waters roaring..a sound of rushing rampantly.....and the consuming started. Although this occurred on the Oregon side, still the Washington side got a front row in the viewing.

We must be so totally consumed with God that no other consuming force should take His place; not to our homes, and not to our community and to that which God is doing in our lives. We must be willing to pray for our neighbors, both near and far! And yes, we should pray for them to seek the wisdom of God to make decisions.

While staying with our daughter and family while the evacuation had occurred, we continued to pray and lift up those fighting the forest fires, those maintaining those lines and for those who rescued the animals of those being evacuated from several areas of this region.
We saw horses, yes, and goats, too plus a few pigs being sent out of harms way.

All we do within our own sphere will ultimately affect another in our daily walk. Whether here within the house, within the grocery market, out on the highway or even playing in the river, someone else can be affected by what mischief or other thing devised against another.

Prayer is so important to open the door to God our Father and allow Him to show each of us how He truly cares for us. Prayer involves our humbling ourselves that we cannot do with out Him. It is always a good thing to be thankful for the good we see in our lives

From labor day of September 4 and left our home in the hands of the Mighty God, we returned about 12:30 pm Thursday the 7th to find it all snug and safe just like He had shown me early Monday morning when I had risen from a long nights rest! Yes, the fire had begun on that Saturday around 4 pm and we happen to be on I-84 when we saw the vehicle pulled over by the police. We had been about 35 miles west of that sight and saw this spiraling smoke going towards the sky.
Yes, something was going on!

Later we saw on the news and started to hear who started it! At this point it had affected many people, caused damage across the National Forest and proved to be a bad thing for this teen and his family. Yes, someone will pay for it.

I am thankful we have a Savior who died for our sins. I am so thankful to be a child of God and to have His continual protection over my family, our home and over our neighbors as well. For my husband and I desire others not to suffer. We desire for all to come to know the goodness of God and His abiding protection when we reside in His presence always.

Yes, someone will create some mischief and cause problems for maybe you or someone you know but we are to continue to give thanks to God, not for the mischief but because we have a loving God who looks over us and to keep us safe.  Our eyes must be open to see the ploys of the enemy and be alert to apply God's word over our lives, our neighbors and of those who live in other states and other countries.

We are all connected in some way or fashion. We all affect others, but ours, those who know their God will pray for the safety of mankind, pray for their souls to be saved and that people will know His love always.
It is easy to judge another, but that is not what the Lord desires for us. Ours is to forgive and move forward. Ours is to be about the Father's business, just like Jesus spoke of.
Will you be about your Father's business? Will you move forward when smoke appears, fire lights up the hillside? Will you continue to move and make a difference for His kingdom?

We pray for all who read these blogs. My husband and I pray all who read them will be motivated in their walk with the Lord, to see their family come to Jesus and know the good of God for their lives. Today we pray for the Holy Spirit to reveal Himself to you in the comfort of God's love. May you know your life is not over and know the best is on its way when we make the Lord our priority. Please know that God can and will work through your life to others and that He is true, He lives and He is for them!

Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which (you and I) have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. (2 Peter 1:2-4)
Amen!

Seasons

Voice of Prayer
1 Thessalonians 5:1-6  BUT concerning the times and the seasons brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. 2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. 3 For when they say, "Peace and safety!" then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. 4 But, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. 5 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us no sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.

Seasons come and go. We watch with anticipation for the flowers first bloom, even when the temps are barely able to climb into the fifties. Then we watch for the rays to cast longer shadows for the lengthening days and by the fourth of July we expect to see the days grow shorter and the warmth to turn to a shiver that travels from the face and down our spine. It is most certainly the right time to reach for that jacket or even a hooded jacket to keep the moist off the glasses to see clearly while taking that "short" walk around the yard or the neighborhood!

In 1 Thessalonians 5, we are reminded to keep watch as the one who believes the Gospel, the one who belongs to Christ Jesus and not to give way to a careless attitude where one is unconcerned about the seasons. Keeping in mind to keep God's word and foremost for that instruction leads us through God's grace and to the light and truth.  Our security is to be in the Lord and not in money or things or even in other people! It is not be centered in what we do but that the Lord is in what we do!
Was thinking about people who prepared for their children to go back to school. For in this new year, the parent or parents make certain the child or children have new clothes that fit, new shoes to start the year off right and to have a good outlook on their school learning. Had seen these teenagers interviewed this morning on their way back to school within the Portland, Oregon school district today and one teen said he thought he should be back at school for he was bored at home!

A friend we have known only a few years has a little one going to kindergarten, and we do not see them really anymore for they live in another community some miles away. BUT she had posted the child's look for school and her smile on Facebook and the little one's face spoke volumes about her starting school. Am thinking that the child will do well in her new surroundings indeed!

Preparation is always important. The Lord will come as we see in verse 3. There will be people who will be destroyed. Now no one likes that talk, right? Yet the Bible is firm on it. For we are told those who put their trust into things will not have opportunity to repent. For truly today is the day of salvation, to repent and turn toward the Lord God. If we keep putting off God, then why should we expect Him to answer when the "destruction" comes?

The Lord will come and many will see His coming manifested. He will come when they are not expecting Him to appear.
In the flood, Noah spent some hundred years to build and then the drops fell from the sky. Rain came down of which no one had seen before ever. And people did not repent! They did not stop what they were doing to heed God and the warning!

Jesus will return. And the warning is given to us that we make the changes needed to heed His plan and not ours.
Suddenly, yes destruction is suddenly, and will happen.  As a pregnant woman, that woman in travail (those labor pains) will grown consistently till the child appears. So too, the Lord Jesus has spoken of His coming.  And for any event, large or small people like to prepare. As for going back to school, preparation is key to having order and provide the needed supplies your child may need to be instructed in that which will aid them as adults.
For the Christian, the believer, we too must be equipped and watchful.
To be sober-minded, we keep awake and alert to the devices of the enemy. There was an event of a hurricane that was forecasted to hit the Texas coast last week and people were gathering their plywood on Friday and the storm hit Saturday. (seriously if you can trust the news on TV anymore) I wondered why many took it so lightly and not get out while the getting out would have been good to do! We should maintain vigilance to watch and understand what the Lord would speak to us for safety and keeping close to His heart when alarms are being sounded!

I know not how people live on the coastlines like they do. And many certainly continue to build in the pathways of destructive storms. If you look at the maps of all the former hurricanes they surely made their marks to be read about decades later. Still people will build in that same pathway!
If I am the Christian, and am told to live in that expectancy, am I doing that?

As the parent prepared for the child or children to return to school, should not we hold that place of action and be active in character to keep the Lord our priority? Do we leave church, and go somewhere to indulge in a meal? Do we leave a prayer service and go indulge in something hidden with the dark of night?  (Well, I took care of God's thing, now I am doing my thing?)

Seasons most certainly appear. They come and they go. And being ready should be important to each of us. Observation to keep watch, is the action in full view of others, that Jesus is our Lord. He is Lord, morning, noon and night. He is Lord when we eat at a restaurant. He is Lord when we buy groceries or when we drop by to get those special cinnamon rolls our kids like to eat. Jesus is Lord when we retire at night.  The seasons, well they last some three months....and with that we experience the height and depth of a cold and icy season, the extreme of a hot dog day summer or the extreme of a wind of 75 miles an hour in the dark of night.
Whatever our lives, they should reflect the life which when looked upon could be seen in a 24-hour period in the full blaze of a well-lighted day!

Just like knowing preparation is important for your children to return to school in good form, so too, we should be well prepared with an expectancy that the Lord is coming for His church, the believer's. What we do in any 24 -hour period should be for full display that we belong to Christ Jesus, with no if's, and's or but's about it. Belonging to the Lord is speaking His language, knowing His heart always and being prepared when He says "move"!
And then do it!

I pray today for those living in Texas and the children going back to school. I pray people would know in Jesus' name that power of destruction and that we should know God who keeps us in safety when we chase after Him, seeking Him while He may found and knowing there is a day coming when the Lord will come suddenly. Will people be prepared to know His coming? Today Lord is the day of salvation and may people heed the call to repentance. We pray today for children returning to school and may they be in safety and protection. May they be far from gun violence and far from the angry man. May people come to know the Lord Jesus and move in the places He has purpose for them. May they truly know His love and be bound to His plan of good. Lord we are thankful for those who are the lines in Texas in search, in rescue, in clean-up and and restoration. We pray today for hearts to be encouraged and show us who we might help and send money that would be the most useful. WE BELIEVE FOR THE GOOD TO COME TO TEXAS AND MAY THEY RISE OUT OF THE DESTRUCTION WATERS KNOWING BETTER IS AHEAD! LORD THANK YOU FOR LOVE AND SAFETY IN THE LAND OF THE LIVING. AMEN!

Would YOU Like Me If.....

Would you like Me?
Would you like me if I weighed less? Would you like me if I weighed more or if I were younger or how about being older? Would you like me if I were a certain color or had less gray in my hair? Would you like me if I were taller or spoke like you? Would you like me if I was more  like you?

1 Samuel 1:1-12 This man went from his city year by year to worship and sacrifice to the Lord of hosts at Shiloh, where Hophni and Phinehas, the two sons of Eli, were the Lord's priests. 4 When the day came that Elkanah sacrifice, he would give to Peninnah his wife and all her sons and daughters portions [of the sacrificial meat]. 5 But to Hannah he gave a double portion, for he loved Hannah, but the Lord had given her no children. 6[ This embarrassed and grieved Hanna] & her rival provoked her greatly to vex her, because the Lord had left her childless. 7 So it was year after year; whenever Hannah went up to the Lord's house, Peninnnah provoked her, so she wept and did not eat.  8 Then Elkanah her husband said to her, "Hannah, why do you cry? And why do you not eat? And why are you grieving? am I not more to you than ten sons?" 9 So Hannah rose after they had eaten and drunk in Shiloh. Now Eli the priest was sitting on his seat beside a post of the temple [tent] of the Lord. 10 And [Hannah] was in distress of soul, praying to the Lord and weeping bitterly. 11 She vowed, saying O Lord of hosts, of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your handmaid and [earnestly ] remember, and not forget Your handmaid but will give me a son, I will give him to the Lord all his life; no razor shall touch his head. 12 And she continued praying before the Lord.....

For Hannah, she lived within a household that held two women! Then factor in she Hannah was favored by her husband Elkanah yet, she Hannah had no children with him. And Peninnah chose to grieve Hannah about it. In verse 7 we find that Peninnah provoked Hannah that she wept and she did not eat.
Now that is serious ....!

In all that is reported to this in scripture, Hannah did not carry a negative thought. Her desire she made mention of it to the Lord and on a regular basis she pursued the Lord for an answer of a son for her and Elkanah.

In all that is reported in scripture on  Hannah, there was nothing found in a negative way about her. Today's culture is really different from what was allowed at that time. Although you do hear from time to time of men having more than one wife. I believe some Muslims have more than one wife at a time. Yet, that would be hard for any woman, and then to have no children with your husband would make life difficult indeed!

Yes, Hannah prayed for years. She had painful experiences and Peninnah chose to aggravate the circumstances within Hannah's life. But Hannah chose prayer. She knew her answer could come and she chose to keep that prayer of supplication going out to the Lord who answers.

Hannah came to a monumental moment when speaking: "I will give him to the Lord all his life."

She chose not to be paralyzed by the fear the other woman imposed upon her. Hannah chose to pray!

Yes the culture dictates something different. People write things to be liked. People will do anything to have a following and yet we find in this woman of so many years ago took the road of prayer.'
In this day and time, God still answers with I sent My Son for you. In this hour, He reminds us that it does not matter the skin color, the weight issue or even how tall or short we might be.
For Hannah prayed out of a heart breaking for "a son" and God even knew then the Son He would be giving for the world to be saved.
It should not matter if someone likes us or not. It should matter when we have committed our all to God!
At some point we must be sane about life. At some point we must choose life and the life giving words that come from God alone.

In the strength of prayer time, our communication with Him, we reject the world's chatter and the world's abuse. In choosing the Lord we are under His protection...........and our expectancy is the answer from Him that will bring much light, much love, and deliver us into a restored life we were meant to have from the start!

SAD but true, cruelty appears to be on the rise today. And it appears even among those who lead others. Today as you and I take inventory of our lives, will we see the familiar anguish and pain or has our hope been set in the Lord?
We too, can be like Hannah who received a son. Within the love of God and for His glory, Hannah had a son and he became a prophet, Samuel who ministered unto the LORD!

It is more important to be found with God. Hannah's identity was found in Him, and she secured a son. Her security did not depend on any man. She kept her voice vocal about the goodness of God and prayed. Within that prayer time, she became free to become what God had planned for her.

May we choose to take our identity within God! Set your course with those who will see potential in you. Pursue people who will see where you are going and not from where you came from.

Are there any associations we must eliminate from our lives?
Find those who will encourage you in the Word of God. They will be those who will always send you fed with His life in you.
Today, leave the dead behind and seek the land of the living. Seeks those who live for God and will encourage you to do the same!

That Communication Thing?!

Voice of Prayer
When you have to have something done outside the home, I am always amazed of the amount of time to actually get out of the house, drive to the designated place and then talk with whom ever one there is to see, greet and talk about for the "something" outside of the home. I always check to make sure that we have all the information needed before going to any destination.
But like anyplace and anyone you talk today, we find there is always at the designated meeting place,  more added sheets of questions to answer like your health. And that applies to having eyes checked, teeth cleaned, etc.  If you think of a Dr. office, you have the appointment and the blood test. But of late, I am noticing how the connection even with what is given you over the internet to receive at home from their office is somehow falling through the cracks at the office.
Communication is vital where ever you go. Especially in knowing say the English language to read road signs to drive there, not using the cell phone and to speak coherently to the person you are to encounter. But again, if you do have that language mastered still somehow people restate the same question to you some extra times, and should they do that, they will still get from me at least the same answer I gave them the first time.
I had told my sister of my trip to get blood checked. Just a thing they do to keep watch on it since the low hemoglobin a couple of years ago. I can understand they know not what they are dealing with, but I know God and I also know I am the healed made whole in Jesus' name.
She is seeing it as a test from God. I believe that, not for health reasons at all but seeing how our love walk is going with others. Finding time with some really helpful people the other day still I am in awe I stayed in that love walk. It is interesting that my veins lie so deep within my arms, that these folks must use ultrasound. Yes, you heard right.
Long story shortened here is that they did regard our request to use it right off. Still the event took some two hours to take some blood. But the people were awesome and they tried to make "light" the difficulty they were having, and yet I knew God was with me, they would get what they needed and I would get to go home and rest. These dear ones had to stay and take care of those who are really ill and who have life threatening situations.
When almost done, the lady next to was having chemotherapy done. She was in awe of my patience and oh she must have watched us. But hey, who could miss it.........we were those talking in the corner of that great room, and probably heard by those seated close by.

Had opportunity to ministry God's word and life to them. Had the opportunity to speak to one mother of her daughters and that they would continue to walk with God for His glory. It might have took two hours, but I believe people experienced the goodness of a great God and His love for them and their children. We had been asking for more opportunities to minister life of God to others but I think I will be more definite on where I would like to do that ministry moments!

Yes communication is vital! And what do we communicate daily, is it helpful to others or just another complaint? I know that our God is for us. He is not against us and does not desire us to be afraid! We have much to do here and it is by obeying the laws like not driving with cell phone in hand, stop at the RED stop signs ( I mean you really must come to a complete stop and then proceed) and we must tell others of the love of God. We should answer the phone but not while driving down the road with a cheeseburger in hand. We should look forward to ministering to others and telling them of the love God has for us and why He sent Jesus.

Yes, my husband called me yesterday and the Dr has scheduled another appointment in four months for the blood again. Not sure of the exact date but it will arrive by email here at the house and we will drive in..........once more of having opportunities to minister life.
Yes, I still pray for those times, but I have asked for a different location and not the hospital!
Communication:is the two way process of reaching a mutual understanding. It is in which the participants not only exchange information, news, ideas and feelings but also will created and share meaning. Communication is the means of connecting with people or places. In business, communication is the key function of management----an organization cannot operate without communication between levels, departments and employees.  (www.businessdictionary.com)

So happy God has no problems with communicating with us. The only problem is do we hear when He is speaking!

Proverbs 23:9 tells us :"do not speak in the hearing of a fool, for he will despise the wisdom of your words.
In God's wisdom, we would know that to keep your job, you are to obey the boss and the written "things" of order for each patient coming in for a visit. To do anything outside of that would seem to cause one to lose their job by not obeying the command from the top.
No we still love, but we also continue to pray for good communication between Dr. and their employees and that all work is completed before Dr. sees their patients in that scheduled day and time. For peace is good to stay in and when you can sing for joy, you have made God your place of refuge. Yes, I will go back for that draw in about four months..........whatever that day may be, unless the Dr cancels, but I wait on God and know if there is ministry to be had there, I will go with the aide of my husband and we will see lives changed for His ultimate glory. Amen.
