Humpty Dumpty the Sequel

Am so appalled to be alive to see such nonsense. I think of others who are with the Lord today and how they might be surprised of all the fake news, and hindrances. In Scripture we find this: Proverbs 14:12 there is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.

In a recent Letters to the Editors, one notes narcissists listed as Trump followers. Another is Evidence, do not cherry pick only the rights we agree with, lists followers as insurrectionists. If one truly wants truth they would seek out who the insurrectionists were on January 6 debate. In one last session the last several days, those  with a subpoena in hand appeared on the Hill in Washington, D.C.. And they were the five including him who said Trump was leader. They held no truth and appeared as some  goon squad out for their own justice. Sad indeed! ( especially saying many cops died when they did not.)

There is going to be a sequel to Humpty Dumpty! They have placed themselves on a wall as "kings" and demand justice. They would not know what it looks like. Justice has been turned upside down!

Ecclesiastes does not speak that life can not be enjoyed. It is God Who wants us to enjoy the best that life has to offer. But the Bible also teaches that "to whom much is given, much is required." (Luke 12:48) Christians should enjoy life but to keep it in perspective. Our purpose for living is not found in earthy treasures. It is found only in a life filled with a desire to the Lord Jesus Christ. That is why He said, "Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water I shall give him will never thirst." ( John 4:13)    Ecclesiastes does not say that life cannot be enjoyed.

God is displeased with perverting justice: Ecclesiastes 5:8…..NKJV….8 if you see the oppression of the poor, and the violent (1) perversion of justice and righteousness in the a province, do not marvel at the matter; for high official watches over high official, and higher officials over them.

Whatever the chain of command: God is still over ALL!

There is the pleasure of vanity: Ecclesiastes 2:5 I made myself gardens and orchards, and I planted all kinds of fruit trees in them. 6 I made myself water pools from which to water the trees of the grove. 7 I acquired male and female servants, and had servants born in my house. Yes, I had greater possessions of herds and flocks than all who were in Jerusalem before me. 8 I also gathered for myself silver and gold and the special treasures of kings and of the provinces. I acquired male and female singers, the delights of the sons of men, and musical instruments of all kinds. 9 So I became great and excelled more than all who were before me in Jerusalem. Also my wisdom remained with me. 10 Whatever my eyes desired I did not keep from them. I did not withhold my heart from any pleasure, For what heart rejoiced in all my labor; and this was my reward from all my labor. 11 Then I looked on all the works that my hands had done. And on the labor in which I had toiled; and indeed all was vanity and grasping for the wind, there was no profit under the sun.

Then we find the end of the wise and the fool! Ecclesiastes 2: 12 Then I turned myself to consider wisdom and madness and folly; for what can the man do who succeeds the king?---- Only what he has already done. 13 Then I saw that wisdom excels folly and light excels darkness. 14 The wise man's eyes are in his head, but the fool walks in darkness. Yet I myself perceived that the same event happens to them all. 15 So I said in my heart, "as it happens to the fool, it also happens to me, and why was I then more wise?" Then I said in my heart, "This also is vanity."  16 For there is no more remembrance of the wise than of the fool forever. Since all that now is will be forgotten in the days to come." And how does a wide man die? As the fool!  17 Therefore I hated life because the work that was done under the sun was distressing to me, for all is vanity and grasping for the wind. 18 Then I hated all my labor in which I had toiled under the sun, because I must leave it to the man who will come after me. 19 And who knows whether he will be wide or a fool? Yet he will rule over all my labor in which I toiled and in which I have shown myself wide under the sun. This also is vanity. 20 Therefore I turned my heart and despaired of all the labor in which I had toiled under the sun. 21 For there is a man whose labor is with wisdom, knowledge, and skill; yet he must leave his heritage to a man who has not labored for it. This also is vanity and a great evil.  22 For what has man for all his labor, and for the striving of his heart with which he has toiled under the sun? 23 For all his days are sorrowful and his work burdensome; even in the night his hear takes no rest. This also is vanity. 24 Nothing is better for a man than that he should eat and drink, and that his soul should enjoy good in his labor. This also, I saw, was from the hand of God.  25 For who can eat, or who can have enjoyment, more than I? 26 For God gives wisdom and knowledge and joy to a man who is good in His sight; but to the sinner He gives the work of gathering and collecting, that he may give to him who is good before God. This also is vanity and grasping for the wind.

From verse 12, retribution is the doctrine and only God will balance the scales to compensate for life's inequalities. Wisdom is of far greater value than foolishness. It is because the wise man realizes what he is doing, but the fool blunders along like a blind man. In verses 14-16 it is the Preacher realizing that both wise and fool are destined for death. But none of that will bring redemption.  If wisdom does not guarantee the person justice, then all the effort he exerted in becoming wise accomplishes nothing.

So nothing like wealth and pleasure accomplish nothing. You cannot take them with you at death. From verses 20-23 the person comes to despair in knowing he is leaving his fruitful labor to him who dho does not deserve it nor has worked for it!

Seek to please the Lord and honor Him in your work. As you do, God gives wisdom, knowledge, and joy!

We are to fear God!   Ecclesiastes 5:1-3  NKJV   Walk prudently when you go to the house of God; and draw near to hear rather than to give the sacrifice of fools, for they do not know that they do evil.

2 Do not be rash with your mouth,  And let not your heart utter anything hastily before God.

For God is in heaven, and you on earth; Therefore let your words be few.

3 For a dream comes through much activity, And a fool’s voice is known by his many words.

At first glance, verse 3 appears to say that dreams are an echo of our daytime activities, that anxious days cause troubled sleep. While that is certainly true, the verse appears in the context of how to worship God. Thus Solomon advises, "Prioritize and keep your life simple!"

Do not pile on extra stuff to your life. Put God first.

"Walk prudently" means "watch your moral conduct." Frequently, "hear" is used as a symphony with "obey," and the "sacrifice of fools" is allowing fellowship to degenerate into mere socializing without serious regard toward walking prudently and hearing God. Hastiness in prayer is speaking ill-considered words before God. Though we pour out a prayer to Him in anguish, we may not think about the possible effects of our words. We can also do this by praying carelessly, ignorant of the seriousness of our communication with God.

 What causes hastiness in prayer?

1.    A multitude of business.

2.    The busy fool pours out a flood of useless words because his mind is crammed with all the details of his business.

3.   Evil excess misuses important time with God and obscures the effectiveness of simple, heartfelt, and thoughtful prayer. When our minds are so full of our own activities rather than with the purposes of God, we often pray to Him like fools who talk incessantly about things of no consequence, or we endlessly repeat ourselves.

Sin Weakens and Destroys...Ecclesiastes 12:6-7;11--14 Amplified Bible  6[Remember your Creator earnestly now] before the silver cord [of life] is snapped apart, or the golden bowl is broken, or the pitcher is broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern [ and the whole circulatory system of blood ceases to function]. 7 Then shall the dust [out of which God made man’s body] return to the earth as it was, and the spirit shall return to God Who gave it.

11 The words of the wise are like prodding goads, and firmly fixed [in the mind] like nails are the collected sayings which are given [as proceeding] from one Shepherd. 12 But about going further [than the words given by one Shepherd], my son be warned. Of making many books there is no end [so do not believe everything you read]. And much study is a weariness of the flesh. 13 All has been heard; the end of the matter is: Fear God[ revere and worship Him, knowing that he is] and keep His commandments, for this is the whole of man[ the full, original purpose of his creation, the object of God’s providence, the root of character, the foundation of all happiness, the adjustment to all inharmonious circumstances and conditions under the sun] and the whole duty for every man. 14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it is good or evil.

Weakened without Christ Jesus ; Ephesians 2:11-13 NKJV  11 Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh---who are called the Un-circumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands---12 that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the common-wealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.

1.   We were estranged from our Creator our Father

2.   Were without a Savior, living in futility and hopelessness

Thoughts on Genesis 4:1-10…Cain slew his brother Abel.

1.   In approaching God, Cain was coming to God in his personal worthiness

2.   He was not accepting of God’s way

3.   Cain was offering to God what God had cursed, the whole ground of the earth

4.   Cain presented the toil of his own hands:God refused it

5.   Anger culminated in Cain’s character

6.   His path was set for rage, set for the unworthy…no good purpose

Believing Power Demonstrates Strength: Ephesians 1:18-19  Amplified Bible 18 By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light; so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones), 19 And [ so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength.

1.   Strength of God is in us who believe

2.   That strength is demonstrated through us when our eyes for seeing is flooded with His light

3.   That is our hearts must be filled with His thoughts, His ways and plan

Freddy Mercury wrote later after his musical years that idolization brought him bitter loneliness. He knew he lacked personal friendship. In a song by U-2, thinking it was the 1980's, they wrote for the song " haven't found what I am looking for."

Many today will sing the same song, sing it or confess with much cursing that they lack. They might be stealing sums of money by governmental means but they cannot take it with them. Humpty Dumpty is sitting on the wall. He has made himself a king and he has his own rules.  He will fall and break into pieces. His silver cord will break. His life will be over! There is distractions in this world and what headlines your thinking will take you there. You will find the ditch on the side of road. You will not go forward nor backward but you only wait on "help". I mean you have waited on help from the wrong place and wrong Father! You will find yourself the old and decrepit, but truth should rule your heart even now because then it will most likely be too late! Those who wait can despair and cut their own lives short!

Without God there is no purpose for our lives, no purpose under the sun!
