Where Complaint is Found

Have you ever wondered about those who lead where you live? I do! And many times I look for evidence of their leading, but find none. Is that a complaint? If leading, what are we leading and whom do we lead? Are we on that path of life leading to life or that path of death leading to death?

In the previous years we have a leader within our police department, he was (and is) a writer as well expressing his work and the attitudes he met on the pathway of his job and of his life.  I believe him to be a believer by what he wrote about in recent posts of his work within our community and county. As the Sheriff,  he expressed heart about his job and why it was important. Now someone else is elected for the new term, as our previous Sheriff has left that office for retirement. What a legacy left behind and yet I wonder if it will continue. Will the new see the examples of good for people or will they choose to complain about “ some people” to hold to an agenda?

We see that in the days leading up to when Moses was to be born!

Complaint was seen in the Pharaoh who decided to have all the males put to death.  Exodus 1:15 Then the king of Egypt spoke to the Hebrew midwives, of whom the name of one was Shiphrah and the name of the other Puah; 16 and he said, “when you do the duties of a midwife for the Hebrew women, and see them on the birth-stools, if it is a son, then you shall kill him; but if it is a daughter, then she shall live. 17 But the midwives feared God, and did not do as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the male children alive. 18 So the king of Egypt called for the midwives and said to them, “Why have you done this thing and saved the male children alive?” 19 And the midwives said to Pharaoh, “Because the Hebrew women are not like the Egyptian women; for they are lively and give birth before the midwives come to them. 20 Therefore God dealt well with the midwives, and the people multiplied and grew very mighty. 21 And so it was, because the midwives feared God, that He provided households for them. 22 So Pharaoh commanded all his people, saying, “Every son who is born, you shall cast into the river, and every daughter you shall save alive.”

For Moses, he was taken to be done away with but the mother hid him, the beautiful son. She made a carrier out of bulrushes and pitch, placed the basket among the reeds by the river’s bank. But Pharaoh’s daughter would bath close by. The royal daughter who would make him her own. She defied her father the Pharaoh and one day she would take the role over Egypt!

Acts 7:22-23  NKJV  22 And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and deeds.  23 "Now when he was forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brethren, the children of Israel.

Forty years had passed since Exodus 1, and Moses is now 40 years old. We do not know a great many specifics about his life, but there are a few historical pieces we can put together. From archaeological finds as well as some written histories, we know that Egypt was the greatest land of its day, the United States of America of that time. Moses was being raised in the palace. His mother, Pharaoh’s daughter for some thirty –five years.

From the diggings of that region, you can find out who had money and who did not. You can know their heritage and the importance of the family that would rule. Being part of the Royal Family, if he rode out on a chariot, the people on the street bowed toward him. He would have had the best of everything, from what he ate, to what he wore and to what he rode. If Moses traveled down the Nile by barge, it was among the finest in Egypt. For that of his education, he probably had the finest tutors available in the land. He would have been acquainted and yes, instructed in astronomy, chemistry, mathematics, engineering, music, and art. But if we pay attention to those kind of institutions today, is much of what he was taught resembles the foolish students where we reside. Yet, the overall effect of what he learned filled him with knowledge and understanding of the region, the ideas people held and then the beliefs his own mother would instill in his heart that would hold him and help him recognize truth!

Exodus 2:8 And Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Go,” So the maiden went and called the child’s mother. 9 Then Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Take this child away and nurse him for me, and I will give you your wages.” So the woman took the child and nursed him. 10 And the child grew, and she brought him to Pharaoh’s daughter and he became her son. So she called his name Moses, saying, “Because I drew him out of the water.”

During his 35 years in the palace, Moses never really lost contact with the people of Israel and with his real family, even though Jochebed & Amram turned him over to Pharaoh's daughter, he could visit them. Even from his birth, he was returned to the wet nurse Jochedbed and during his nursing, she would have told him of his true heritage. She would of warned him of his future if he took the way of fortune. She would have told him of the one true God!

He would desire to help his people, but it would prove violent. He went the way of anger and complaint.  He evidently took the route of the Egyptians to ridding those who got in the way! He runs to the wilderness. As he hides out from those who would take his life, he finds a new life. He considered himself thrust out of his home he knew, now a new life would appear!

…Exodus 2:11-16  Amp. Bible 11 One day, after Moses was grown, it happened that he went out to his brethren & looked at their burdens; & he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of [Moses’] brethren. 12 He looked this way & that way, & when he saw no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand. 13 he went out the second day & saw two Hebrew men quarreling & fighting; and he said to the unjust aggressor, Why are you striking your comrade? 14 And the man said, Who made you a prince and judge over us? Do you intend to kill me as you killed the Egyptian? Then Moses was afraid and thought, Surely this thing is known. 15 When Pharaoh heard of it, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from Pharaoh’s presence & took refuge in the land of Midian, where he sat down by a well. 16 Now the priest of Midian had seven daughter’s, & they came & drew water and filled the troughs to water their father’s flock.

Exodus 3:1-10 Amp. Bible   Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro ,his father-in-law, the priest of Midian; and he led the flock to the back or west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb or Sinai, the mountain of God. 2 The Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush; and he looked, and behold, the bush burned with fire, yet was not consumed.

3 And  Moses said, “I will turn now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush is not burned. 4 And when the Lord saw he turned aside to see. God called to him out of the midst of the bush and said, Moses, Moses!” And he said, Here am I!”

Exodus 3: 5-10… God said, Do not come near; put your shoes off your feet, for the place on which you stand is holy ground. 6 Also He said, I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God. 7 And the Lord said, I have surely seen the afflictions of My people who are in Egypt, & have heard their cry because of their taskmasters and oppressors; for I know their sorrows and sufferings and trials.

8  I have come down to deliver them out of the hand & power of the Egyptians & to bring them up out of that land to land good & large, a land flowing with milk & honey [ a land of plenty] to the place of the Canaanite, the Hittite, Amorite, the Perizzite, the Hivite and the Jebusite. 9 Now behold the cry of the Israelites has come to Me & I have also seen how the Egyptians oppress them. 10 come now therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh, that you may bring forth My people, the Israelites, out of Egypt.

From the last teaching on Voice of Prayer, “Spending Our Inheritance” cry means to shriek. It is from the emotional ….and it is one scared as they pray!  They look at what surrounds them, they pray to the Father they cannot see but only spiritually. But Moses could God face to face.

God IS GOING TO SEND MOSES BACK TO EGYPT:: Exodus 4:18-21  NKJV  18 So Moses went and returned to Jethro his father-in-law, and said to him, “Please let me go & return to my brethren who are in Egypt, & see whether they are still alive.” And Jethro said to Moses,  “Go in peace.”

19 NOW the LORD said to Moses in Midian, “Go return to Egypt, for all the men who sought your life are dead.” 20 Then Moses took his wife and his sons  2 and set them on a donkey, and he returned to the land of Egypt. And Moses took the rod of God in his hand.  21 And the LORD said to Moses, “When you go back to Egypt, see that you do all those wonders before Pharaoh which I have put in your hand. But I will harden his heart, so that he will not let the people go.

So who would want to go when you know for certain Pharaoh’s heart will be hardened….? And who would he face when he returned? Pharaoh was satisfied with all his Hebrew workers. He had much to build to honor himself. Some people only see others as builders, with straw, and work long hours. Others are educated and hopefully learn in studies to become a responsible citizen. That is a good thing: but we must have God leading us by His Holy Spirit!

Not sure what happened to the education system here, but we must be trained in that reading, to read any contracts, to write, in using our name that is written on the dotted line saying we have consent to the employment and the math is good for whatever you encounter daily. At one time the education system of America un-apologetically incorporated the Bible, prayer to the God of the Bible, and biblical values in every aspect of school life.  I remember the McGuffey Reader. It held prayers from God’s word. It was this pathway of truth that gave this system producing a people that took responsibility producing the most powerful and prosperous nation the earth has ever seen. But sad today, the youth are inundated with liberal ideologies. They are given false, biased and mostly anti-biblical information.

Moses was separated from his own. He was separated from the Hebrews. But Moses learned his heritage. He learned also what money and position could bring to him. But he knew speaking would be hard in his having difficulty with stuttering.  Exodus 4:10 Then Moses said to the LORD, “O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue. ( dull, heavy tongue, cannot speak well) 12 Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say.”  13 But he said, “O, my Lord, please send by the hand of whomever else You may send.” 14 So the anger of the LORD was kindled against Moses, and He said: “Is not Aaron the Levite your brother? I know that he can speak well. And look, he is also coming out to meet you. When he sees you, he will be glad in his heart.

Moses put weight on the leadership of mouthing specifics. In that he himself chose himself as disabled in speaking for the Lord. Yet, it is God who prepares what we will speak. We are told that in Luke 12:12 For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.

Moses had complaints! And he complained of his speaking.  1 Corinthians 2:13 These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

Moses was set on the natural of things. Though the burning bush halted his movement, he still held out for the natural till God showed him the way in the wilderness. He lacked authority, he lacked eloquence, he lacked a message indeed. But God had his attention in the wilderness.

Moses learned at the hand of Jethro. He learned valuable lessons about leading God’s people by taking care of sheep. He became a shepherd. So he was moving toward destiny.  The new king might not know Moses, he might not be remembered being Pharaoh’s family member, but Moses would learn of the God Jehovah. He would learn His presence, His voice, His power and might. And he would act in obedience to going!

In the reading of all Moses encountered through God, he complained of his stutter. His brother Aaron would go but he also would bow to the culture of worship to golden calves. He would create such a thing. Have we done that? Who would answer that we have had complaints? Yet we are not complain. It will grow darker and darker for those who choose darkness over light. But we remain in His presence. We remain to the obedience He set down.

Moses did not go to the Promised Land. But carried his coffin up a mountain to be buried. And God knows the place. Will complaint fuel our tomorrows? Or will we find our peace in God for today and all the tomorrow’s ahead? Because man will let you down, but God will not forsake you ever. Can you imagine carrying a casket up a mountain and then be put in it? Moses had disobeyed by striking the rock and not speaking to it accurately. He spoke to the people, not the rock!

In these lines of this thought: Moses held what is called that second fear. It is that which involves what man thinks of us rather than what God thinks of us. In this the person will come to produce more anxiety, more depression and failure.

The third fear is known as the satanic and we know he did not have that. The choice to make is in the fear of God, the understanding of the fear of God: it is productive fear, and it always leads to peace in God. It is knowing Him, using His knowledge and wisdom to live by always.  To fear God is the beginning of wisdom. Proverbs 9:10   ….Moses struck the rock and did not do what the LORD spoke to do.

Moses at Kadesh, a grievous error is committed by him and Aaron. The children of Israel have contention against Moses. Numbers 20:4 Why have you brought up the assembly of the LORD into this wilderness, that we and our animals should die here? 5 And why have you made us come up out of Egypt, to bring us to this evil place? It is not a place of grain or figs or vines or pomegranates; nor is there any water to drink.

6 So Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly to the door of the tabernacle of meeting they fell on their faces. And the glory of the LORD appeared to them. 7 Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 8  "take the rod; you and your brother. Speak to the rock before their eyes, and it will yield its water; thus you shall bring water for them out of the rock and give drink to the congregation and their animals. 9 So Moses took the rod from before the LORD as He commanded Him. 10 And Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly together before the rock; and he said to them, “Hear now, you rebels! Must we bring water for you out of this rock?” 11 The Moses lifted his hand and struck the rock twice with his rod; and water came out abundantly and the congregation and their animals drank. 12 Then the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron,  because you did not believe Me, to hallow Me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land I have given them.” 13 This was the water of Meribah, because the children of Israel contended with the LORD, and He was hallowed among them.

Yeah, Moses was to speak to the situation, speak and the rock will yield. God said to speak to the rock before their eyes, and it will yield its water; thus you shall bring water for them out of the rock and give drink to the congregation and their animals. ( verse 8)

Pride held this person. He was upset with the people. They contended with him so he would show his anger like he did to the Egyptian who beat the Hebrew! Moses is still dealing with “stuff” from his past. He has pride, entitlement, impatient, resentment, comparing ourselves to others, or "life is not fair".

Speak God’s words. Remember and hold His promises in your heart. Believe Him and when you speak by the spiritual of His word, His water will run to where it is needed. BUT GOD will be HALLOWED. HE IS GOD. HE IS TO BE FEARED. We need to consistently be putting God’s truth into our hearts so we can dispel the lies of the world. What we deserved was death. But God loved us so much that instead he gave us eternal life. God is true and every man is a liar!

NO complaints here! We speak His word, believe it true and see His kingdom come in our lives. Amen.

BREAKER 1 9

BREAKER  1 9

Heard a teaching today and I had remembered living in a wilderness area of Wyoming. Our daughter had taken a name when using the radio to check in on the CB we used. She had a call name which matched her own name. (Candy Cane) And she would open with “Breaker 1-9 (assuming you were in the right place for that check), come in radio check"!  We had a CB radio in our truck and our family members each had one in their trucks, so if out hunting, or else, we had a check that radio was working to keep in touch. But do we check our heart? Would we say yes or would we say: rarely????

David asked for a radio check: Psalm 139:23-24 when he prayed, “Search my, O God and know my heart; try me and know my anxious thoughts; and see if there be any hurtful way in me and lead me in the everlasting way.” When was there a radio check with the Lord God that you had?

David wanted to be searched on his heart matter. He asked God to know him and if he had anxious thoughts.

In having love for others is the spiritual test. As we grow in that love, we will be tested on that love we have within our own heart. Yes, the acid test of spiritual maturity is a growing love for God and people. If it is not growing for God and people, you are not growing in your Christian life!!!

Jesus made it crystal clear that the most important commandments are (1) loving God with all you are, and (2) loving people as you love yourself. If I am to grow as a Christian, the proof of spiritual growth is not how much I know, it is how much I care. It is not how often I go to church … or how many Bible studies I am involved in … or how many people consider me a strong Christian … or how many verses I have memorized. The real proof is how much my heart and your heart is growing with love. Paul said that love is the goal of our instruction.

If you will do a “radio check” with God, He will question back to you:

“Do you love Me more today? Do you love Me more that what is before you?
Are you growing in your love and appreciation for Me?
Do you love what I love … people for whom I died?” Will you stand with Me in the purpose I have set before you???

If love is truly the acid test of spiritual maturity (and it no doubt is), how are you doing with this thing called love?  If you are really growing in your love for the Lord, your life will show it in obedience to His commands. Jesus said, “He who has My commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves Me” (John 14:21). If you are really growing in your love for others, your life will show it in the way you treat people, in the way you pray for people. Christians who are really growing are praying daily for unsaved family, friends, neighbors and associates. They have a burden for lost people who are one heartbeat from an eternal hell.

I had a fellow Christian send me a teaching they had this last Sunday. I thought of Esau who shed tears for the moment, wanted soup in a moment and cared nothing of his patriarchal leadership among his Jewish family. He wanted soup and do his own thing as in hunting!

As I write this line I am remembering the one who saw writing on the wall and was found wanting! God writing like He did to Belshazzar, your kingdom is numbered and finished. You are found wanting and divided and slain…Found in Daniel 5:13-30… ..Belshazzar knew how God dealt with his father, Nebuchadnezzar, but  he refused to be humbled by it!

Belshazzar, used all the instruments of God’s house for his own glory. He desired to take and use that which belonged to another in property.  What Belshazzar did was for Belshazzar’s own performance. He was the grandson of Nebuchadnezzar. He had a great feast using the sacred gold and silver vessels which grandfather Nebuchadnezzar had stolen from the temple in Jerusalem. The king with his entourage drank themselves drunk on wine, and praised the gods of gold and silver, bronze and iron, wood and stone. Fingers appeared to write on the wall. The king terrified by what he saw offered up his purple robe, a chain of gold and would promote anyone who could interpret the meaning written on the wall before him, the king!

Daniel would be called in. The queen suggested his being summoned to interpret. He is of excellent wisdom and spiritually leaned on God. Daniel brought before the king also rebuked him, the king, boldly for desecrating the vessels of the temple by using them for a drunken party as in the idolatrous feast. For this king, Daniel read Mene, Mene, tekel, upharsin, Mene. Daniel told the king God had numbered the Babylonian Empire and finished it. He was told it was weighed in the balances and was found wanting.

The king would be die. He was found wanting and he was found divided. He chose to party with the world and not hear God! Should his heart been checked to find such going on? I believe most people will know they are going the wrong way indeed. YOU do not and should not use God’s things to comfort the world. The world is made of those who choose no rule nor boundaries. They despise the things of God!

Will you do a “radio check” today?  And will you ask God to show you where you are with Him? Is He with you in the trial or did you not call on Him before that “trial” began?

Ask Him to change you, to grow you, to help understand His love for you better … so that you can love Him back . 1 John 4:19…. “We love, because He first loved us”

In reading the Ten Commandments we find this requirement that we are love God and neighbor. But the law could not produce this love in people. And we can do this today because of the wonderful love that God gave in sending His Son Jesus to die for us who were in sin! Is it possible to love God and have some less love for our neighbor? Jesus loved the people who came to save. But not all will be saved for they will not see their sin nor their darkness. We are told if they slap you on the cheek, turn your face and let them slap you again. YOU can see that today indeed. We love by praying for them. I do not understand their breaking rules to suit their agenda, but God has His kingdom and to reside there, we forgive others!

Ask God: Ask Him to give you a heart for people, especially lost people who desperately need to know about a Savior who can forgive all their sins and change their lives if they will just surrender to Him.

Ask Him to help you pray for your neighbor’s children. Ask Him for their safety if they are not of the saved.

Proverbs 3:3-24 has much to speak about wisdom, about the word bound to our neck to find favor and high esteem in the sight of God and man.

5 Trust in the LORD with all  your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;

6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths ( concerning life, spouse or marriage)or something else here______________  Do not be wise in your own eyes;  Fear the LORD and depart from evil. 8 It will be health to your flesh, And strength to  your bones. 9 Honor the LORD with your possessions, And with the first-fruits of all your increase;

10 So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine. 11 My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD, Nor detest His correction; 12 For whom the LORD loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in whom he delights.13 Happy is the man who finds wisdom, And the man who gains understanding;

14 For her proceeds are better than the profits of silver, And her gain than fine gold.  15 She is more precious than rubies, And all the things  you may desire cannot compare with her.  16 Length of days is in her right hand, In her left hand riches and honor.

17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, And all her paths are peace.   18 She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her, And happy are all who retain her.

19 The LORD by wisdom founded the earth; By understanding He established the heavens; 20 By His knowledge the depths were broken up, And clouds drop down the dew. 21 My son let them not depart from your eyes-  Keep sound wisdom and discretion;  22 So they will be life to your soul  And grace to your neck.  23 Then  you will walk safely in your way, And your foot will not stumble.  24 When  you lie down, you will not be afraid.......

I saw something written by William MacDonald ( he wrote commentaries on the Bible) : Discipline is a proof of love, not anger. Correction is proof of son-ship.

Are we known as sons? Does not love look like our Father who created us? If we put Christ Jesus in our hearts: then Jesus far surpassed any profit of man who has silver and gold, any wealth, any song, anything indeed.

Jesus is the treasure inexhaustible, He is the source of true delight. YOU might gain the world’s applause, but it is only Jesus who can bring joy to our heart and a smile to our face that will never stop being produced. He offers long life, gives eternal life with spiritual riches and honor. He is pleasantness and His paths are peace. He provides sound wisdom and discretion to give vitality to our souls. They allow us to walk safely in our way free from danger of tripping and slipping. You and I have a guarantee of good sleep tonight for we carry no guilt on the conscience and no fear on our minds.

We had a “heart check” with God! Disciplined in Him, we have no anger. God is our justice and He is the judgment. And what He speaks determines the outcome of my life and yours. His will is being done and He wins. That is communicating with Him indeed.  Amen and Amen.

Distorted!

Distorted!

Was reading an article yesterday and it reminded me of those few trips to see the Carnival. Now I was never fond of them and we only went when my dad could go with us. On one event though we went without my father to this Carnival and on this specific thought process I thought of the Hall of Mirrors. It was a group of mirrors distorted to make you look somehow different as you stood before them.

You could start at one end of this great hallway and see yourself as the very tall person or the very short one. You could see yourself somehow heavy and then very lean indeed! You could see your head the size of a watermelon or as such and then your feet could appear as the very big compared to that of a clown’s feet!

Distorted!

Reality is not seen in the Hall of Mirrors. It is the humorous self-reflections or the oddity of a person or even the scary of that same one. And what bad picture do we have of ourselves? I heard this gentleman mention that a friend of his always had the Judges 2:15 in mind. He believed that it was appropriate to his life  ….”Wherever they went, the hand of the LORD was against them for evil…”

Now this was not his life verse, but it certainly impacted his thinking. The truth is that God can get angry with His people. And it is revealed when they deliberately and highhandedly disobey him, and not when they struggle.

Psalm 118:6-7 The LORD is for me; I will not fear; what can man do to me? The LORD is for me among those who help me; therefore I shall look with satisfaction on those who hate me.”

We are to remember that God sent the Son of His love in a great love to save the human race. And not all will receive His Son, but He is ever pleased to make intercession for those who follow Him. A lady we know who had an accident some months ago trying to get in her house. She had mis-stepped and found herself on the floor. And within all the chaos with a trash container she has found God still loves her. She knows He is looking out for the good for her because she loves Him. ( her own words) She continues to heal up this day!

A Hall Of Mirrors: seeing oneself in all the different mirrors and so distorted and misshapen, but God’s Word is the perfect law of liberty. James 1:23-27....NKJV.... 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the word, this one will be blessed in what he does. 26 If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one's religion is useless. 27 Pure and un-defiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself un-spotted from the world.

Now the reflection of a mirror will tell you to comb your hair or it might recommend your getting a quick shave in before leaving for work. ( you can read your face on that mirror for it regards your present look indeed)  Reading the Bible is simple. We read but should know what it speaks to our heart. We should not quickly forget what we read nor what the pastor taught this last Sunday. Living as if we are already perfect does not make you perfect. Understanding that you and I live by His word, to abide in that word and move to be more like His image propels us in His power, love and peace! I like the perfection mentioned in the new testament. It reveals perfection or perfect as teleios from the numbering 5046 in the Strong's. It is the end, as finished, the complete, perfect. It is applied to a person or persons, signifying it the absolute soundness. It includes the idea of being made whole. For believers, it denotes "maturity".

As the new man in Christ Jesus, we act like Him, gazing into His result as He lived on earth but now lives in heaven and our hearts. This is a true freedom. It is far from human traditions and any carnal reasoning. We benefit from what He spoke to His disciples and to us! We must look to our spiritual man. We must favor His outcome to be the image of God Himself. We will never be god, but we are to imitate Him who CREATED us with and for a purpose.

God planned for Adam and God saw the glory on him. But Adam decided to listen to others over God and changed that glory for sin and the devil. So God sent His Son Jesus, the glory to be presented to mankind and see God’s will on earth as He planned in heaven.

The Gospel of Mark emphasizes the servant-hood and the sacrifice of Jesus.  IN Mark He faces those with hardness of heart and unbelief. All the way to the cross on Calvary, Jesus carried burdens. He was seen and is seen as the long-suffering servant. The sacrifice presented by the face of an Ox: Mark 10:45 “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve and to give His life a ransom for many. Knowing Jesus represented His Father in heaven, the foundation of truth was seen. Seen by those with a willingness to lay down the world’s demands and receive God’s, we see Jesus is Identified in His confessions: Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word of God. “Get behind Me Satan! For it is written you shall worship the LORD your God & Him only you shall serve.” “It has been said, You shall not tempt (test) the LORD your God.”

Will we worship the planks that make-up the platform of that which we want or do we look for the beams that made up the Cross that held the Man of Sorrows? Many speak Jesus died on a tree with a small plank at His feet. I believe small planks would not hold a healthy man in His prime as Jesus was and is!

In the Gospel of Mark: Jesus emphasized His authority as Teacher: Mark 1:22 & they were astonished at His teaching, for He taught them as one having authority & not as the scribes. The “scribes” were known for repeating what others had said. It was both the substance & the manner of the Lord’s teaching that was different from what the scribes gave or represented!  Jesus strongly condemned them: Mark 12:38-40 Then He said to them in His teaching, “Beware of the scribes, who desire to go around in long robes, love greetings in the marketplaces, 39 “the best seats in the synagogues, & the best places at feasts, 40 who devour widow’s houses, & for a pretense make long prayers. These will receive greater condemnation."

Jesus Gives Warning of TRUE Defilement from an Attitude of the heart: Mark 7:14-23  When He had called all the multitude to Himself, He said to them, “Hear Me, everyone, & understand: 15 “There is nothing that enters a man from outside which can defile him; but the things which come out of him, those are the things that defile a man. 16 “If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear!” 17 When He had entered a house away from the crowd, His disciples asked Him concerning the parable. 18 So He said to them, “Are you thus without understanding also? Do you not perceive that whatever enters a man from outside cannot defile him. 19 because it does not enter his heart but his stomach, & is eliminated, thus purifying all foods?” 20 & He said, “What comes out of man, that defiles a man. 21 “For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornication, murders, 22 thefts, covetousness, wickedness deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. 23 All these evil things come from within & defile a man.”

Jesus was proclaiming the Kingdom of God: it was the age of salvation and there was no distortion. Calling the multitude to Himself, he wants to clearly state that it is the heart and the will where ungodly thoughts, words, desires and motives spring from and the disciples were to have hearts filled with the words Jesus gave them. And we know that Jesus pointed to the disciples as those with the spiritual dullness: Spiritual insensitivity builds through this section of Mark 6:7 to Mark 8:26! Here in  Mark 6:7-13 Jesus sends out the Twelve disciples, His instruction to them was concerning their provisions and their public acceptance or rejection, then sent them on their mission delegating His power to them.

Mark 6:7-13 NKJV  And He called the twelve to Himself and began to send them out two by two, and gave them power over unclean spirits. 8 He commanded them to take nothing for the journey except a staff---no bag, no bread, no copper in their money belts-----9 but to wear sandals and not to put on two tunics. 10 Also He said to them, “In whatever place you enter a house, stay there till you depart from that place. 11 And whoever will not receive you nor hear you, when you depart from there, shake off the dust under your feet as a testimony against them. Assuredly, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!” 12 So they went out and preached that people should repent. 13 And they cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many who were sick and healed them.

The disciples imitated John the Baptist and Jesus. They received instruction and went. They took a money bag. And they had money in the money belts. They always had what they required when ministering God’s word. Do you?

Distorted! Do we look to Jesus and see our way? Do we walk in this world and see the end coming to us? Will we announce who God is to us and move? Or will we cower and speak nothing to a dying world?

Elohim, the Creator of heaven and earth…who crowned us with glory and honor. He is might and strength.

El Shaddai, the God Almighty of Blessings…who nourishes and supplies. The all-Bountiful One and the All-Sufficient one, we bless His name.

Adonai, our Lord and Master, the completely Self-Existing One, always present, revealed in Jesus Who is the same yesterday, today and forever. Hallowed be His name.

Jehovah Rapha, our Healer, and the One Who makes bitter experiences sweet. He is the One who sent His Word and healed us. He forgave our iniquities and healed all our diseases.

Jehovah Nissi, our Victory and our Banner….our Standard! His banner over us is love.

Jehovah Shalom, we bless His Name. He is our PEACE. That peace which transcends all understanding, which garrisons and mounts guard over our heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

Jehovah Rohi our Shepherd and we shall not lack any good or beneficial thing.

No Distortion here: God is Him whom we worship and adore: El-Elyon, the Most High God Who is the First Cause of everything, the Possessor of the heavens and earth. He is our Everlasting God, the Great-God, the living God, Faithful God, Merciful God, Mighty God, Truth, Justice,  Righteousness and Perfection. ( we are made perfect for we are the mature in the Lord.) We are the healed, made whole, with nothing lacking in our lives, for He loved us first and loved us best of all. Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the whole world. Amen and Amen.
