Deliver Out of Conflict

To DELIVER OUT OF CONFLICTExodus 3: 10-14 NKJV “Come now, therefore, & I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring My people, the children of Israel out of Egypt. 11 But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, & that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?” 12 So He said, “I will certainly be with you. And this shall be a sign to you that I have sent you; When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.” 13 Then Moses said to God, “Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel & say to them. ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you, & they say to me, ‘what is His name?” what shall I say to them?” 14 And God said to Moses, “I am Who I am.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, “I AM has sent me to you.”

God had heard the tears of those under hostile rule! Pharaoh was leading his nation and used the Hebrew nation to work making bricks for building! Now from this passage, Moses work is about shepherding sheep in the wilderness area. And one day, his attention was caught by a bush on fire but it was not consumed. He had moved closer to see this burning bush and when he had turned aside Moses heard God calling to him. Exodus 3:4 " Moses, Moses!" And he said, "here I am."

In this commanding event, God's presence is experienced. in Exodus 3:7 the LORD makes known the oppression He had seen of His people. He spoke to Moses that He knew the sorrow of His people in regard to the harsh treatment by the Egyptians. So here in verse 10 God is appointing Moses to go to Pharaoh and to bring His people out of Egypt. Moses spoke, but he spoke out of his insecurity, " Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt? And then God  speaks: "I will certainly be with you."  And this shall be a sign to you that I have sent you; When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.” 13 Then Moses said to God, “Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel & say to them. ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you, & they say to me, ‘what is His name?” what shall I say to them?” 14 And God said to Moses, “I am who I amM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, “I AM has sent me to you.”

Yes, insecurity plagued Moses. And he spoke in Exodus 4:1 "But suppose they will not believe me or listen to my voice; suppose they say, 'The LORD has not appeared to you.'"
Yes wonders would be seen and people would know that God was with Moses. But he was desiring someone else to speak. Insecurity is a devastating thing! Moses was not released from his appointment to meet with Pharaoh.

Now Moses had stepped out to help a Hebrew, but while trying to rescue the man, the other was killed and Moses hid the Egyptian's body. And on his second day out, he Moses encountered two men jostling one another. To the one who did wrong, Moses spoke: "Why are you striking your companion?" Exodus 2: 14 "Who made you a prince and judge over us?  Do you intend to kill me as you killed the Egyptian ? " So Moses feared and said, "Surely this thing is known!"
And when Pharaoh heard of this matter: Exodus 2:15 ....he sought to kill Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh and dwelt in the land of Midian, and he sat down by a well.
So Moses is found in the wilderness and along with it, he also took a wife Zipporah, the daughter of Jethro (Reuel)

Timing is everything in the kingdom of God! Moses was not the perfect man, but neither are we, yet God used Moses for God's glory. Moses encounters Pharaoh and though a different one now rules in the place of the one who had sought Moses, still there must have been some thoughts of those possibly still living who saw him kill the Egyptian.
From shepherding sheep, now Moses is shepherding people, but first he has to rescue them with God's hand. Encountering this new Pharaoh, Moses most likely encountered those who knew him  in the royal palace. But his appointment was at hand and he asked for Pharaoh to let the people go.

Delivery comes for the Hebrew nation. Much speaking was done and miracles were preformed. And the proper response to the power of God is to fear or be in awe of Him! Moses trusted in the LORD and held obedience to do what God asked him to do.

God used Moses, one who considered himself inadequate for a useful vessel in the hands of God. Still God used Moses and Moses continued his relationship with God.
Ever thought of Moses, a man brought up in a palace and who lived most of his life in the wilderness?  Seriously, he was born Hebrew of slaves under the rule of a Pharaoh and whose people were all "slave" workers who had to build with straw and mud. Lifted out of water to become the son of Pharaoh's daughter, and was being protected by God. For whatever his Hebrew name was, only his parents would have known, for he was renamed Moses by the Princess! Educated in all things taught, yes, by Janees and Jambrees. Remember them? But ultimately Moses was taught their "wisdom". He was certainly kept from harm.  He was protected by God Himself to see a day when Moses would serve God's purposes!

Moses had lived in the "lap of luxury"! Like Moses, even from his birth, it looked like the devil was trying to kill him! Taken from his family to live in a palace and learn the ways of the Egyptians. That was a "big cost" to the family who gave birth to him and loved him dearly.
Moses, the one drawn out of the water, to live in a palace and learn the ways of the Egyptians and to one day hide in the wilderness, tend to sheep, to see and be 'in awe of' a burning bush' that was never consumed. It was his command from God that would take place "out in the wilderness".

His appointment took him into the wilderness, yet many a Bible believing and church attending person will tell you that this is not a place to be. They will give excuses for the one who is in the "wilderness" place. But I am one who knows of it and I write about it because whatever our beginnings and whatever our shortcomings, there is still a God who cares and will speak to us. If we will but listen and pay attention to the appearance of the burning bush.
For you may have aborted that expected appointment by choosing friends over the Holy Spirit, choosing to sing instead of hearing intently what the Spirit would say to you, or choosing to take that job in no-wheres-ville to end up running to the wilderness....still that burning bush will appear.
Yes, God's presence will be noted and He will most likely call you by your name. And understand that He is not finished with you. For God's heart toward us is that He saved us by the blood of His Son, He rescued us from death, from hell and by grace, HE protects us daily by His ever watchful eye and He is establishing us in His kingdom that has come.

Anybody outside the justice of God will bargain with anything to gain the advantage over another person. We can see how Moses dealt with the hostile Egyptian. We must deal accurately with people and in doing so we abide in that place that is honest and transparent in those dealings. But those who choose to make deals in getting that heart's desire...might end up with more than a bad deal, but end up with the empty deal, the falsehood that has no life to it. Seeking justice for ourselves and others is seeking that which comes only from God and hopefully by the man or woman who has Jesus as Lord of their lives. Jesus came to relieve the oppressed, to judge the fatherless and plead for the widow.

Those who are the ‘redeemed’ of the Lord know Jesus as the ruler of their hearts. His reign is a health to them, He is prosperity, happiness and peace. They hold the banner of victory knowing God sent Jesus into the battle and He came out victorious for us. He is our justice who brought us wisdom from God that is inexhaustible, the Truth and the Way which guides us daily into our future which is life!

Following Things

Following things is not a good thing to do! We are to follow the voice of God :

Psalm 29:3-11
3 The voice of the LORD is over the waters;
the God of glory thunders, the LORD thunders over the mighty waters.
4 The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is majestic.
5 The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars; the LORD breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.
6 He makes Lebanon skip like a calf, Sirion like a young wild ox.
7 The voice of the LORD strikes with flashes of lightning.
8 The voice of the LORD shakes the desert;the LORD shakes the Desert of Kadesh.
9 The voice of the LORD twists the oaks and strips the forests bare. And in his temple all cry, "Glory!"
10 The LORD sits enthroned over the flood; the LORD is enthroned as King forever. 11 The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace.  NIV

The voice of the Lord, as spoken of in Psalm 29 is stated as being over the waters, a thunder to be heard, is majestic and the voice of the Lord causes deer to give birth and cedars to break into pieces.

Understanding the strength of the Lord just in His voice, would we not pay attention when He speaks?

Seeing the impact a tornado can have on any given structure, tree, person or animal, one thing is certain, God did not cause the storm, but His word produced the nature of the storm. He created the winds but He did not create them to destroy.  We live in a fallen world. Sin has wrecked havoc on man!

Knowing this, you and I are to give HIM glory and honor, all praise in any circumstance of our daily lives. Not because of destruction or even of disease, but because created this world for us before sin came into it!  We are to take notice and give thanks at His glory and strength. The noise of the thunder is the noise of His voice. Lightning is the companion that brings an instant flash of light to remind us of the proving factor, a truth, that He who created the world and causes the world to obey His every command.

In the kingdom of nature, we daily can see the wonderful effects of natural causes, and the operations of the powers of nature, we ought to take notice of God's glory and strength! We can also see the magnitude of damage and death due to destructive winds, storms, catastrophic earthquakes and know there is more going on than meets the natural eye.

We had a thunderstorm move through here one evening last week (August 8) and the light show was majestic to say the least. One strike was close oh so close to the Beacon Rock area that one would see as if God turned on a light just for a moment to check everything out. Then we would hear the big "Boom" of thunder and the house would give a shake. Yes, it was something I thought we left in the south but no, thunderstorms are making a show in other parts of the this country as well!

We are to make the most of our time here on earth. We are to make choices that direct us into walking through the right doors at the right moment. And walking through them requires some prayer time and God's wisdom.
God will always speak to us through scripture. I do not care what it is about, God always speaks to us what He has given us through the Holy Bible. And might I add here that we are not, are not, to do anything in the flesh!

Proverbs 11:14 tells us that victory is won through the advice of many counselors. Knowing that God is leading, we should look for His wisdom in going forward, hear the scripture given us and pray fervently expecting to hear Him give us the 'go ahead' in any decision making opportunity. God will lead by His word!

Remember too, that you may receive some guidance while you rest at night. The Lord does give dreams as He did have Adam sleep while giving him Eve. Job 33:14-15 For God does speak---now one way, now another---though no one perceives it. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on people, as they slumber in their beds God will speak to us.

My sister had shared with me recently of Scripture from John 14:6 that He would give her in her time of sleep. And she would remember the passage after the many times He spoke it to her. That kind of sharing is of a God who loves us indeed! And do we share Him with anyone?

Was thinking of that people following after things! And we can see a baby born who is newborn is quick to find the nourishment he requires for life. You can see several children ages 2-5 years of age brought together for a play time and you find which things they follow and choose as their own and will fight others to keep them from those things.

As we grow up and are to become what God purposed we find many of us look to the world and see the interesting. And yet if we remind ourselves from scripture that which is mentioned in the book of 1 John 2:16: the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life we should not be lusting after things.
You can turn a television on and watch a broadcast of America has some kind of talent, you can view someone has a talent to sing, or another broadcasts that some can dance. Seriously if I required medical aid, I am not looking for a singer, a dancer or even a reality T.V. show character if I need some medical help in an emergency.  Seriously, unless you can sing and do heart surgery all in the same moment, I would not think a person needing a heart transplant would look for you.
But as I write this I am remembering those looking for Jesus. He stood out from the crowd. He had authority and He knew the God of heaven was His father. He operated by the Holy Spirit and declared the goodness of God to man on earth and those God came for, the Jew, did not desire to take note of Him. What few chose Him, did find life everlasting and those others found only death and destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D.

As the man of prayer, Jesus was always connecting with the Father in heaven. He was always seeking the Father's plan on earth. And will we regard His plan for us here and now?

A lot of great ideas have come and gone, but it is the God-given opportunities that will ripple through positively not just for us only but for others as well! Is what we seek good for others as it is for us? Will we seek God and hear Him when He does speak to us?
Philippians 4:6-7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Proverbs 11:25 The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed; those who help others are helped. Of all the things we should remember about God is that He is truth, justice, His way of doing and being right, His righteousness is an example to us.  And that having righteousness in everything we do and say is to be a deliberate act on our part. We are to humble, to kneel and obey. We are to humble ourselves and say, I know not the best way to go, I know not what to speak, and I need You Lord to guide me, not only today but every day Lord I need to hear Your voice and I need to obey that that direction for my life!  I will praise You and give thanks that You are God my Shepherd!

Thank You Lord for showing us the way in which to walk in righteousness that has come to us through salvation. Lord show us truth in that we ask of You today, that will not only bring positive to our lives but those we come in contact with as well.

Father, we pray to not be about following stuff: like things, the next big trip abroad, the next big tune, the next big person to hit the cinematic screen, but help us to see You our Creator.....One Who sticks closer to us than a brother. May our hearts not betray us, seeing the grace bestowed on us for every situation, that may arise should delight our hearts in knowing that You have prepared us with the ability to always move forward for Your glory.
May we see the answer we have asked of You this day, that as we willingly prayed, we are willing to seek the best for our neighbor and see Your kingdom come to us and them on earth this day. And we give thanks for the answer, that we will not be frightened by it nor will we allow egos to get in the way. We choose to humble ourselves to see Your way in this place. We move out of the way for truth to rule and when we do we live out that which You to give us.

No following things for us Lord! We will not act like children looking for next big thing of the world. But we do look for that which is life giving that will give hope to our neighbor, will bring YOUR love into that which we speak by Your Scriptures for us and for them.

We seek that open door into the newness and refreshing by the Holy Spirit. We seek the truth that reveals the beauty of the Lord and of His perfection.
It will be a place of being surrounded by those of moral beauty and the presence of God will be enjoyed by all people there indeed. His word will be written on it and sealed with the blood of Jesus.

Today I pray that as others read this they will see God in the power He possesses and that He is within them. I pray that they will become "the praiser" who constantly gives God praise for all that He has done for them.

Father God, I pray that they actually know Your favor on them and that You hear their fervent prayers on this specific matter that is prayed today!
As the world appears darker may they  grow brighter to the full light of day and may they give honor to Him who gave them life to live in this generation.

And I pray they would hear doors open into that which has God ordained for them, which will bring life to others, will swing open wide and will stay open for them. Isaiah 22:22 The key of the house of David I will lay on his shoulder; so he shall open, and no one shall shut: and he shall shut, and no one shall open. 23 I will fasten him as a peg in a secure place, and he will become a glorious throne,to his father's house.
Revelation 3:7 b :These things says He who is holy, He who is true, He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens."
Father, we are secure in You through Your Son Jesus Christ. We are knitted in hearts to Jesus. We hold onto His ways, His truth and life. We give thanks for Him and obey. You sent us Your best and we see Him in all His glorious beauty and strength. And what You did for us....is the greatest sacrifice ...that of YOUR Son!
We give thanks for Your love to us, we give praise loudly for all that which You planned for us, and we give You our love this day. For Father, You are God who is not hard of hearing nor are YOU forgetful, but You are always on time  for that of which we have asked this day in Jesus' name. Amen.

Meeting Mercy

Who Do WE See?
Was reading in scripture today and paused on this verse: Proverbs 12:10 A righteous man regards the life of his animal, but the wicked are cruel.
There are times we have had people over to have a meal with us or to pray for them. We have people over to bar-be-que outside and to have dessert as well and in all these instances I always pay attention to how people regard someone else's pet! We have a small poodle and she loves people sometimes too much and some people do not love having any cats or dogs around. Some say they think the animals are dirty, but I would disagree with them. Not to say they are wrong, but they may likely have an allergy to pet fur and the such. And we certainly pray about those who we invite and how much time we should allow our pet to remain with us while we have visiting friends for their good as well as for our dog's good!

But in regard to Proverbs 12:10, this was written in the time when the concern in that era was rare. But what this verse is revealing is that a wicked man even when sensitive, will still show cruelty to other human beings.
Deuteronomy 25:4 You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain.

Of course they would not muzzle the ox to keep it from eating the grain it was threshing out! The ox was working for the man and he would be fed for his work while he worked. The apostle Paul even quotes this verse in 1 Timothy 5:18 to illustrate the principle. For the scriptures says, "You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain, and "the laborer is worthy of his wages."
Now this was given by the apostle in reference to those who study the word and teach that same word of God to others. Within this Paul was speaking about elders who not only governed but also fed the church God's word. They were to be given a double honor of office and that suitable salary.

Was listening to a teaching early this morning, and the pastor said he always reads to show himself approved by rightly dividing the word of Truth. He also said that he relies on the Lord to show him where to study and what points the Lord desires to reveal to those coming for that teaching.
He also said he has seen such people coming that the Lord gives him before hand,  that some, yes the church come with an attitude of coming for a "cold" cheese sandwich at a FEMA quonsite hut rather than expecting that royal feast with several courses to eat and that would be a lasting one for the people with that "meat" through the week.
I certainly agreed with him on that point because God has given us His best, but are you and I willing to receive and expect His best from Him?

A friend of ours who lives in Seattle area had an incident in the last couple months that had caused her back to break and she is in rehab at this moment. Had sent some texts back and forth to her and was wanting her to know we remembered her birthday. But what she sent me spoke volumes. Even though in pain she was getting out her note pad and writing Scriptures down to remind herself daily of God's goodness to her. She was going over scriptures that she knew she should be speaking over herself and the situation.
God causes us to rise out of situations when we put His mercy before our eyes. When we allow mercy in, we can see situations change for our good because in the situation we choose to love God and put Him first!
Yes, we expect her to be on the mend, but we also expect her to be enjoying life to the fullest for years to come!

One word here, she is a dog-person and has had many pets. You can tell the real dog lover, because they care for them as a part of the family not as another 'thing'.

If we really looked at ourselves in the mirror, would we see Jesus or a growling dog leering back at us? If we really took stock with what is within our heart, would we quickly remove that growling dog from us and replace within our heart the goodness of God by speaking His truths into our hearing so that our faith grows in HIM and not in ourselves.

Father God, I ask You to help us to receive the Word of God not as the word of men but as it actually is, the word of God which is at work in us as one who believes. (1 Thessalonians 2:13) You have warned us in Your word not to believe every spirit but to test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. (1 John 4:1) O, God, as You increase my belief, teach me also what not to believe. Matthew 24:10 tells us that in the last days many will turn away from the faith and will betray one another. Help us to never turn away and turn cold. It is Christ our Lord who said, "I tell you truth, anyone who has faith in Me will do what I have been doing. " In fact, He went on to say " he will do even greater things than these, because Jesus was going back to the Father." (John 14:12)

Today, Father our cry is to meet and know Your mercy that is unending. In spite of Your chastisement, the ancient Israelite's kept sinning. In spite of Your wonders they did not believe, so You ended their days in futility. Psalm 78:32-33 O Lord, I do not want my days to end in futility. I want to participate in what You are doing here, right now in my generation.

I pray that the eyes of my heart may be enlightened in order that I may know the hope to which You have called me, the riches of Your glorious inheritance in the saints and Your incomparable great power for us who believe. Ephesians 1:18-19
Father, thank You for Your unfailing love and how vast it truly is to us! Thank You for the plan and purpose You have for our lives. Jesus, You are the same: yesterday, today and forever. You are the God of might and strength to us, hallowed be Your name. Let Your hand become my help for I have chosen You and Your ways. My lips utter Your praises. I bless Your name forever. Come kingdom of God and be done in me this day in Jesus' name. Amen.
