Writing Desk

Open the Holy Bible for the greatest love letter ever written!
Have you ever thought what it looked like when God created the heavens and the earth? Have you ever wondered if He sat down.....for He surely considered the cost.....because you can read that in Luke 14! Luke 14:28-30 NKJV   28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it----29 lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, 30 saying, "This man began to build and was not able to finish."

Being in the Word always reminds daily of submitting all to God, and allowing Him to have His way in our lives. But alas, many choose at times to go their way in their own thinking and ability!
So while God thought out the heavens and earth and placed a specific thought on a page of Adam and with a tree in the center of his garden, would Adam submit his all to God and walk the way God planned? NO! He did not!
Adam relinquished his life with God for that of scratching out a living, not more in the glory of God but in the flesh, sin and death! Once more Adam played the blame game with God.....that woman YOU gave me....! Not a good attitude to have with God! Why did Adam not tend to the garden and his wife which lived there with him?

In thinking of this today, I was reminded of my grandmother who lived in another state from us while we grew from babies to young adults. She was my mother's mother and she loved to write letters and cards and with great detail she planned what she needed at her work station; her writing desk!
Anytime we went on vacation to see our grandparents, I could inspect her writing desk, writing tablet, book of stamps, envelopes for letters and cards, several pens in black and blue ink and of course her list of family members.
Living in a small home, she had desk that would fold out with a level writing surface. Though compact and would close out of sight, still I knew what was held behind in those out of sight shelves.   When she was ready to write to someone that was on her mind, she would open that small door to reveal the compartments with all her supplies lined in a row before her and then she would begin! I loved receiving her letters and when I took Spanish in Junior High School, I would write to her in Spanish. Although she would not speak in Spanish to me when we visited, still she thoroughly knew that language as she did her English language.
She would write back to me asking how I was doing learning a second language and to keep up the good work. No she did not put a smiley face on the letter or envelop, but I knew the love that was composed in those pages she wrote to me and for me. I would always inspect the powder blue sheets of stationary and wonder what other colors she had purchased to write those long letters.

Surely I would pray that people would see the love the Father has for His, He calls as His sons. That we all would know His goodness and He sat down and planned it to a perfect plan that comes from an Almighty God! I would pray that we know the love story enfolded into the pages of the Holy Bible. I would not pray they have a joyful holiday but a joyful life in God! I would not pray that they would get what they wanted for a special day, but that they might receive that perfect thing from God who has the best for each of His children.

In 1 Peter 4:6-11 we are told of the manifold grace of God that has given us His ability through that grace to glorify God by the Holy Spirit of God and in Ephesians 3:8-12 wisdom of God that came by Jesus Christ! He was made unto us wisdom!

1 Peter. 4:6-11  For this reason the gospel was preached also to those who are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit. 7 But the end of all things is at hand, therefore be serious &watchful in your prayers. 8 & above all things have fervent love for one another, for love will cover a multitude of sins. 9 Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. 10 as each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 11 If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability (anointing) which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory & the dominion forever & ever. Amen

I
f we are to speak, we should speak according to the way our Father in heaven speaks. In the oracles or teachings of God, we are given instruction of that ability given us through Jesus Christ and when we have made Him our Savior and Lord!

Ephesians. 3:8-12   8 To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, 9 and to make all see what is that fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ; 10 to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and power in the heavenly places, 11 according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord, 12 in whom we have boldness  & access with confidence through faith in Him.

As the intentions of God was made known, that we would have access to the manifold wisdom of God, His varied expressions of joy and life for His own, and that we, not a church building, but you and I would speak, reveal and make known His goodness....to the principalities and power in the heavenly places. That would look like voting for the Bible-based person or persons who seek God and expect His will to be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
So sad many people are stuck on the package of who or what their leader should be or look like.....they reveal their agendas, those motives that have nothing to do with life but only of death.....and when God is on the scene we must be sure we stay within God's plan and not mess with it by speaking ill of those who lead their country, their state or their family by the word of God and truth. For us to act as mentioned in Ephesians 3 that we are to make known to the enemy (Satan) that we are ruled by God and will operate as he does on earth as He does in heaven.
But ruling for abortions is against God and against life of a person. Ruling in favor of same -sex marriages, is against what God placed in His letter in Genesis to us of one man with one woman. God is true and real follow Him, but if Baal is true follow him!

No, surely our hope is to be in Jesus Christ, and act like He did! When we truly know what His love letter to us says, then we truly can be that person who reveals life to another. It will not be by manipulating or only gave half-truths, but it will be by us truly seeking the Father of light to reveal light to others.
My grandmother passed at an early age of sixty four years of age. Her life, well, she did regularly attended church, she regularly shopped at the local grocery market and prepared meals. She washed dishes with no dishwasher available. She washed their clothes at the local laundromat and she wrote letters to others.
My intent is to reach out to let you know your Father in heaven loves you and is waiting to speak with you. I sit at my desk and am reminded what an impact those letters written so many years ago made in my life....I hope this does the same. For someone loves you and His name is Jesus. Someone loves you and gave His life for you. Someone loves and sends this to remind you that He is ready and waiting to hear......HE wants to show you what was Finished for You when His SON went to Calvary!

Sacred Cows, Healing and Behaving Badly

Bondage & Lies or Truth & Healing
Many Christians find this a difficult concept, especially when faced with sickness. As Jesus said, "Which is easier, to say, 'Your sins are forgiven you' or to say, 'Arise and walk'?" (Matthew 9.5).

Is it easier to accept salvation through faith in Christ Jesus' sacrifice, but when faced with an illness in the body faith is just too hard to find?

Romans 6:9-11.....9 For we know that Christ being raised from the dead will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him. 10 The death he died he died to sin, once for all, but the life he lives he lives to God. 11 So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus. RSV

According to this verse 11, we must consider ourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.
So ultimately and foremost we are temples of the Holy Spirit and so are swept clean from sin and sickness. Through His work on the Cross, we are reconciled to God. We stand as the free from sin and sickness.
We must touch heaven to change earth. And with that being said,we are made of earth, changes must come in our thinking and hold God at His Word of truth. In that we are freed from the power of that curse over mankind. Jesus must be the Lord over every part of who we are or we will end up looking like something that maybe the cat dragged in.

We can not take only the part that makes us feel good, but also look at where we must be corrected in that which God speaks for our lives. Sickness for some I have seen of late are the ones who are inflicted by inner  hurts. They are so damaged in their thinking and heart, one who really listens will hear their cry of pain. For whatever they are in bondage to from the past hurts will certainly show up in their daily life in every decision they must make.

An inner healing must take place for the person to live a victorious Christian life. What comes into play in most instances can be the work of demonic powers. Most do not like that word anymore they want to hear the word "pastor". Not sure why, but whatever has come into play, that mechanism operates producing a friction against others.

One of the most favorite of all scriptures to help for both areas of healing is found in Isaiah 53:4-5. It is both for the physical as well as the inner healing.

Isaiah 53:4-5
4 Surely he has borne our griefs
and carried our sorrows;
yet we esteemed him stricken,
smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions,
he was bruised for our iniquities;
upon him was the chastisement that made us whole,
and with his stripes we are healed.  RSV

The word 'sorrows' (v4) is from the Hebrew 'makobah' meaning pains or sorrow or grief. And Jesus was chastened (v5) for our well being (mind and body). Jesus started His public ministry by saying:
'He (God........... His Father) has sent Me to proclaim............. release to the captives … to set free those who are downtrodden …seen in....Luke 4:18-19
18 "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives
and recovering of sight to the blind,
to set at liberty those who are oppressed,
19 to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord." RSV

From Isaiah 61:1-2
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to bring good tidings to the afflicted;
he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
2 to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor,  RSV

He was sent to bind up the broken in heart.

If it is an emotional hurt, we are to pour it all out to Jesus, we hand it over to Him and let Him carry it, we take His free offer of peace and we take His offer of freedom that is only found in Him. It does no good to spill it upon someone just for us to have a shoulder to cry on. No, we must ultimately bring it to Jesus and lean into His goodness and love.
Really expecting by faith, we allow those chains to be removed, and God can do this.........in a moment of time. If you and I can take our salvation by faith in trust of Him, surely the same should come as quick when we keep our eyes of faith on Him. God is supernatural and His promises are true. We are to rest in Him and trust no matter what else is going on at the time, that God Himself will hear and know our cry.

But should a profound hurt be opened up from the demonic, then this must be dealt with first. It will likely need and require prayer and fasting:
'Is this not the fast which I chose, to loosen the bonds of wickedness, to undo the bands of the yoke, and to let the oppressed go free, and break every yoke?' (Isaiah 58.6)
Many times people will not forgive anyone. They start out with un-forgiveness toward one person and then it can lead into not forgiving anyone, till they have to control every situation in their lives, so that they might protect themselves from everything and everyone God is sending to help them. Because of their insecurities they set to assault others in the same or similar manner that they have been assaulted. It can come in words that only hurt others and for their own protection. They desire to regard those who will be on their side. Remember birds of a feather will flock together?

Scripture tells us in 1 Kings 18: 21...."If the LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him."

20 So Ahab sent for all the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets together on Mount Carmel. 21 And Elijah came to all the people, and said, "How long will you falter between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him." But the people answered him not a word. 22 Then Elijah said to the people, "I alone am left a prophet of the LORD; but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men. 23 Therefore let them give us two bulls; and let them choose one bull for themselves, cut it in pieces, and lay it on the wood, but put no fire under it; and I will prepare the other bull, and lay it on the wood, but put no fire under it. 24 Then you call on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the LORD; and the God who answers by fire, He is God." So all the people answered and said, "It is well spoken."

We have the choice to choose whom we will serve. We must not behave badly before others or allow others to behave badly before us.  If you gossip before me, I will call you on it.
How can you know if you are dealing with someone with such brokenness? Well it is in the stance they take, and what they speak that is the unreasonable and  is ultimately immune from any opposition. They hold a high regard that the "sacred cow" they have as their custom or their idea is put where they may observe and worship daily. Anyone seeing this will have the desire to pray for them....but we must know God is in it with us to pray for them.
I looked up the synonyms for the "sacred cow"...and the meaning was like this: golden calf, anything that is the object of worship. But I also found these: god, or goddess. Yeah, see those little g's?
Praying for all is paramount and when God gives the direction for us to do so. But if we see someone acting a certain way, and their behavior is not consistent with life to another, but bent on another's destruction, then we must not condone that kind of behavior.

"Well, he acts like that because he had such a terrible childhood!" Or, "she was just having a bad day, so it was okay for her to act like that. Each day we are framing our world and it should be with the Word of God....and not by he said or she said.
It is like seeing children on the playground: one boy of about eight or so has another pinned to the ground while others pour water over him ....making him cough and what .....that he begs them to please stop....but they do not....! That is not boys just being boys....No, they saw that some where and it is a part of them...to act it out in aggression to another boy.

Once heard this man speaking of his son. It seemed every time a meal was prepared, the youngest or what would become the middle child would complain of the food served and  the child would promptly gag at the plate set before them. Now this individual would continue to gag till the parent would coax him into something no one else was having to eat. Ta-dah….another meal being prepared for the “gagger”! Yikes.
Many times, as the parent with more than one child, will try to find an easy solution yet in the long-haul the child will expect the “special “treatment always. This is a destructive pattern for the parent and for the child who would be informed in the year to come another baby was now about to appear.
You can hear the parents cry and the child’s subsequent gagging reflex begin always around the meal time and all are gathered to eat while one is capitalizing on that which “he will not eat”….only to be catered too……while parents are not dealing with this child another smaller baby is now on their way into the same “house”.
The " gagging" child will even venture to speak this: “ mama, why did God make me this way?” or “daddy, why did God do this to me?” YIKES!

Certainly our nature is to become like Jesus. Our born-again man is to resemble Jesus in thought, word and deed. But many time people will resort to that destructive pattern. They receive that “sacred cow”  and believe the child might grow out of it.  But something like this is a deeply embedded thing! And continuing this practice will wear you out!!!!

God has certainly made us and He fashioned us in our mother’s womb. We take the walk of faith daily and obey Him. Now there may some place we might trip, but certainly we get up, dust off the pride thing and know God can help us and our children when we bring these matters to God. Bringing light will dispel the darkness of where you or I may have messed up what God planned for us or for our children. God does not make your child gag!

God can change situations when we allow Him to change them. But pretending our child is just a gagger is like the one who says….”well , boys will be boys”. It is our God who makes the broken new again. He does not approve of boys to participate in water-boarding!

When we allow certain behavior that is not consistent with being righteous before God then we are condoning the false, perpetuating their problems into our lives. We are not to commend the ill bent person for behaving badly and to correct..........for choosing to ignore that bad attitude, then we allow it into our homes and into our children's lives.  God is not mocked, what man sows, he will reap.
And some men or even women will find themselves in a greater hurt.
Water boarding seen in young boys and never stopped will increase and produce most likely death for another person at a later date!

Jesus gave us authority over sickness.Matthew 10:1-4.
10:1 And he called to him his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every infirmity. 2 The names of the twelve apostles are these: first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zeb'edee, and John his brother; 3 Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; 4 Simon the Cananaean, and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.   RSV

Jesus healed people because God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power .

Acts 10:38-43............RSV..........8 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power; how he went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him. 39 And we are witnesses to all that he did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They put him to death by hanging him on a tree; 40 but God raised him on the third day and made him manifest; 41 not to all the people but to us who were chosen by God as witnesses, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. 42 And he commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that he is the one ordained by God to be judge of the living and the dead. 43 To him all the prophets bear witness that every one who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name."

Healing for those who are oppressed of the devil is available to us. We have been clothed with power from on high. Hallelujah!
So, if you see some sickness caused by an unclean spirit, it is Christ's authority and power that is vital in healing for the person. "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of Lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning." James 1:17
What that is of God is a spiritual "thing" is truth, is life and brings healing and much change in our lives. Jesus went to the Cross so all could have all the good of God today. It was and is the most marvelous life-changing and yes, life establishing gift a Father could give us. Let's  receive it by faith!

Modern Stone Age Family

Are setting up our "kids" to live in a place that is of rocks, and stones?
Some might remember this: Flintstone's meet the Flintstone's ...they are the modern stone age family, you know from the town of Bedrock, they are that place right out of history. I heard that history repeats itself.
Yes, Shelley but this is just a cartoon show, right? Yes but how people today insist on casting stones, whether they live within this country or without, they seem to let it all hang out, with every type of attitude of defiance possible. Even the costumes seen from that very show seem to indicate a representation of the things Wilma Flintstone and Betty Rubble wore are seen in some who entertain like the music industry in today's culture. Yikes!

Jesus came to roll the stones away! He came to move people out of the dust bowl society and stone throwing to set captives free. He came to show us what we needed to be set free from!

John 11:17-44………NKJV ……...17 So when Jesus came, He found that he had already been in the tomb four days. 18 Now Bethany was near Jerusalem, about two miles away. 19 And many of the Jews had joined the women around Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother. 20 Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met Him, but Mary was sitting in the house.

21 Then Martha said to Jesus, "Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died. 22 But even now I know that whatever You ask of God, God will give You." 23 Jesus said to her, "Your brother will rise again." 24 Martha said to Him, "I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day." 25 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. 26 And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?" 27 She said to Him, "Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world."

28 And when she had said these things, she went her way and secretly called Mary her sister, saying, "The Teacher has come and is calling for you." 29 As soon as she heard that, she arose quickly and came to Him. 30 Now Jesus had not yet come into the town, but was in the place where Martha met Him. 31 Then the Jews who were with her in the house, and comforting her, when they saw that Mary rose up quickly and went out, followed her, saying, "She is going to the tomb to weep there."
32 Then, when Mary came where Jesus was, and saw Him, she fell down at His feet, saying to Him, "Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died." 33 Therefore, when Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who came with her weeping, He groaned in the spirit and was troubled. 34 And He said, "Where have you laid him?" They said to Him, "Lord, come and see." 35 Jesus wept. 36 Then the Jews said, "See how He loved him!" 37 And some of them said, "Could not this Man, who opened the eyes of the blind, also have kept this man from dying?"

38 Then Jesus, again groaning in Himself, came to the tomb. It was a cave, and a stone lay against it. 39 Jesus said, "Take away the stone." Martha, the sister of him who was dead, said to Him, "Lord, by this time there is a stench, for he has been dead four days."

40 Jesus said to her, "Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?" 41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying.

And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, "Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. 42 And I know that You always hear Me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me." 43 Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice, "Lazarus, come forth!" 44 And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with grave clothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, "Loose him, and let him go."

There were many things going on in this region when Lazarus had died. And two women had wondered why Jesus had not appeared. Each had a response about meeting Him.
First we find Martha speaking this from John 11: 21 Then Martha said to Jesus, "Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.

Martha knew of the resurrection on the last day, and when she ran to meet Jesus, she did not bow before Him. Did she not notice He carried the very presence of God?

Next we look at Mary: John 11: 32 Then, when Mary came where Jesus was, and saw Him, she fell down at His feet, saying to Him, "Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died." 33 Therefore, when Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who came with her weeping, He groaned in the spirit and was troubled.

Oh yes, Jesus certainly love them and loves them today! Jesus spoke with Mary and she too gave a response to His arrival>>>>.. "Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died."
Sooner or later we must move out of the stone age where stones are thrown at people and live in faith as the Lord has directed us to live. Mary knelt at the presence of God in Jesus. Can you see the difference?

People today put their children in a place of bondage trying to keep them so to speak in a safe environment, and yet create places that only bring the grown child into rejection and in some cases abandonment. For most it is represented by the "fear factor"!
People so fear for their children they will not allow them to get a driver's license just because of a health issue, will not allow them to get job because of health issue, but the same parent's will give the child a front row seat as to where the parent wants the child to go. Where the parent decides best suits the parent without regard for the child that they are human, created by God and should not be kept as pets!  Children in some cases are caged like an animal. They are caged by words of the parent's pride when they implement themselves as judge and jury over every and all situations in regards to the child or children.

I speak from experience for my husband and I had done that at one time. Our daughter had been diagnosed with asthma at the age of eight. And it seemed like over time working to keeping all the meds and her health in check for good was in itself another job for me to do. Although my husband was present, still I was the "person" who worried. Not a good thing to do
But like my husband said when our daughter was about to turn 15 that we had to allow her to live. She wanted to work and we let her work as long as her grades remained really good. And they did! We allowed her the great privilege of getting her license  to drive a car and learn some responsibility of taking care of herself in that weapon called an automobile. She learned to care for the engine under the hood. She learned how to work with others, draw a paycheck and become a responsible individual. She grew from a child, to a teenager to a young adult. She attended college and got her degree. She also continued to work and not live off others. So also learned from God's word how to put His truth at the place where asthma had been spoken.

If we are creating danger zones for our kids demanding they obey us as we know more about their sickness, their dilemma, then we are limiting God, and danger for the child or teen!

Every decision should only occur when the truth of God is revealed !  For they should have known how to be responsible by taking out the trash at age eight. They should know how to wash a dish if they dirty one. They should know they must work if they desire to eat. They should know how to sort clothing to wash by their high school years.
But alas, some people resort to creating their lives over again in their children. I hope we are not doing that ever. Our children should live for that life God intended and not by some Mama's rule or Daddy's rule that they the child cannot do something because they are diabetic or they have heart issues, they are autistic or they have or were born premature and weakly and must take life at a gentle pace of motion and movement through their life without disrupting anyone else or anything else.

Jesus certainly disrupted the religious folk of His day and they were casting stones in that day. They wanted to push Him on a cliff....yeah, some people, right?
If a parent, then we should know that our child or children are not separated from the love of Christ. He came to give His life for them. And to prevent them from learning something of life at the different ages then at age 21 we  then wonder why they are still at home, why are they not holding a job and they still desire to be with us every moment of every day. Because they were not allowed to see through God's eyes that which God intended because Mama or Daddy said!
They were kept from driving a car, dating and working. Kept from really reaching their full potential because of Mama's or Daddy' fear factor for life. Like daddy left us when we were babies, and Mama died when we were 12 or 14 years of age. Then the person now raises their kids in same manner....to repeat history of daddy leaving, Mama dying and abandonment.
Because if the child is not taught a real structure that is of God, the stones will crumble. The foundation is not strong, and the child becoming an adult will now resent the Mama who wants to put them out, resent and will feel abandoned by the Mama's or Daddy's doing.

Father , who can separate us from the love of Christ? Can trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? No, in all these things we are more than a conqueror through Him who loves us (Romans 8:35,37)
Lord, may our children not be conformed to our image but YOUR'S. In our act of spiritual worship, You call us to not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, not to the modern stone age family, no, you call us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. That we will be able to test and approve what Your will is. Your good, pleasing and perfect will is for us to know. (Romans 12:1-2
Father, today I pray for parents who have teenage children to repent of their ways that is far from You and may they receive wisdom how their children should be supported to go out as adults and live for God. For Your Word tells us that anyone who trusts in You will never be put to shame. (Romans 10:11)
Father may we always receive the Message, but Your Message is better than anything. May we run after Your truth, and seek You while You may be found. Though we are in the world we are not of it! The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have power to demolish strongholds. Your power can demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of You, God and take captive every thought and make it obedient to Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:3-5) Enable us Lord! Help us not just to read it and say it, but believe it and do it! Amen!!
