| Heaven or Hell? |
In
planning for a trip, many people will set out their families goals for that
trip. Like if they have chosen Disneyland, they will figure the cost for each
family member, the amount of the time there and back home and the cost for
food, plane ride or car travel plus the extras that can come into play while
taking the trip.
In
viewing a winter time business trip, some prepare to have new snow tires put
on and have the vehicle serviced at that time, plus they make sure of carrying
the chains for tires in case of travel over mountain passes, and the extra
things a vehicle requires during those colder times of the year. Others, as
maybe the older person may look at their need of medications on a daily basis
and if they will need or require the extra meds for their time away from home.
People
will create their portfolios in planning their retirements, spend hours of
looking through doctor information for that face procedure to take years off their
face or inches off the other places. They spend hours figuring what they will
do for Black Friday, and which stores suit them for that which their heart has
desires for. Yet I wonder how many
think of where they will spend eternity? Many already believe they will be in
heaven. YOU, some believe all roads lead there. WRONG! But some think they are
going there.
Told in
the Word of God that Jesus is the WAY,
the TRUTH and the LIFE….then there is no other way to get to that place of safety. John 14:6 Jesus said to
him, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes
to the Father except through Me.
In the very life of God truth is
found. Rejecting God and His truth is rejecting life that is only available through
Him. Jesus said, “ If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also;
and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.” (John 14:7) That is by knowing Jesus! Jesus had prayed
in John 17 that His desire is for us to all be ONE in God. Not a one world with
one way as of the world, but ONE in God who is life to us and for us. If you
and I do not tell people that there is a heaven to gain and a hell to avoid,
then we miss the opportunity to give God glory as His Son did. Jesus’ life glorified the
Father and was displayed for all the
earth to see! He glorified the Father and He finished what the Father gave Him
to do. In that truth was the display of the Son in obedience to the Father.
What will we reveal
to others? Will
we let them know that they most likely do not have a Penthouse waiting for them
in heaven? Those who have rejected God and His son will ultimately behold a
subterranean lake of fire. If scripture
is really known, then we will know that the earth was “made for you and for me”
and together with Jesus will see His kingdom come on earth as it is in Heaven.
If we
are rooted in the world, will we receive any “new word” coming down the pike
which today is regarded as fake news, but in God we will know that the devil’s
time is short! You and I will know that we have the Holy Spirit in us, that we
are to revere God and to know Him and His word of truth. In that relationship
people should have the conviction within them by meeting you or me knowing that
need life through Jesus. May people see and know us in truth that our own lives
are transformed for His glory!
