MAKEOVER

Have you seen some of  those make-overs? When the doctor gets through with the patient.........they no longer look like themselves.
In school, many years ago, I remembering reading on those explorers who traveled thousands of miles to find the Fountain of Youth. And one such traveler who came across the seas believed he had located this "fountain" in Florida.
Now this Ponce de Leon was told by Native Americans where this great restorer was located.
Being that this all took place in the 16th century, I am not certain those original communicators of that region and time would be available for a comment on this subject.
In Ponce de Leon's writings, nothing was ever mentioned about the course he took, where Bemini might be. Of course we know today that it is found or was thought to be in the area of Cuba, and Puerto Rico. Although mythical in nature, still the land was thought to hold wealth and prosperity who came and took it.

What people will do for a make-over! Yet God's Word is a true youth maker. In reading and depositing His Word in our hearts, we make our stand in life for Him. It reading and depositing that Word of faith, we believe we are the youthful. We can do exploits because the Word of God tells us that. He confirms it. He sent Jesus. Enough said, "right?"

Seriously, people will travel, seek out and find the latest and the greatest thing in the land. What culture proclaims, do we run to take and use that which may cause harm to the body that God created.
Endeavoring to really please God is seeing that He is pleased with us because He sent His Son.

Malls were not around in the 16th century, at least not to my knowledge at this time. But I do know God has been around forever. He has been tested and proved. He is the FAITHFUL AND THE TRUE!

The best place to look for a change, is of course the heart.

He promises us a blessed life. And trials and tribulations are given in the word as well. But where these people of the Bible were blessed, you can see it in the pages of those like Abraham and Sarah. Look at how old she was, and other men desired her. She had to have been a really beautiful woman.
The Lord makes us strong where we are weak. He makes us sound good when we seek to please Him in the Word. We learn to worship in grace. We learn and begin to see with His eyes.........and the beauty before us.
Truly beauty fills Heaven and everything God has touched.
Have you allowed Him to touch your heart..........so your face will smooth out.........with no more worry lines? Have you allowed Him to give details of your future life with Him?
No!
Well, take the Word.......and read it. Take a mirror and view yourself in it. Take a picture and mark this day as the STARTING LINE.........THAT STARTING MOMENT TO HAVE THINGS CHANGE FOR GOOD!
Seek God, open up His Light and let it fill every low place, and every dark place, and see the smile return to that which you remember seeing long ago.
Go now...........start that MAKEOVER and see what God will do for you..............!
Glory to YOUR Name, O  LORD........You are high and lifted up today....Amen!

Stranger

John 10:1-18
10:1 "I tell you the truth, the man who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber. 2 The man who enters by the gate is the shepherd of his sheep. 3 The watchman opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. 5 But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger's voice." 6 Jesus used this figure of speech, but they did not understand what he was telling them.

7 Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. 8 All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

11 "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. 12 The hired hand is not the shepherd who owns the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. 13 The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.

14 "I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me- 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father-and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd. 17 The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life-only to take it up again. 18 No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father."
NIV

What do we recognize?
Are we aware what we lay out in our speaking of tomorrow, we have either life or death? Are we aware of the importance of truth?
What should be the "stranger" to us would be someone who does not speak as we speak! They have their own agenda and it is far from God.

Thieves can come in many sizes, colors and plans. But in the normal day, life even some T.V. might turn into the thief that steals time from you when prayer might have been a better choice.

I always think about the People's Choice Awards.........and such programs that dole out awards. In that thinking, awards are good for choosing something that is helping to progress in growth.  In any endeavors as in swimming, playing tennis, a golf match, or hiking, one must consider the price paid for patience. If you are the one swimming, awesome, but if you are the one watching the other swim and exercise, then the "waiting" time is ahead for you.
Seriously though, in the verse above in 13-14..........the wolf has come. The hireling has abandoned the sheep. He simply runs away. The wolf scatters the flock. Sheep are left. But Jesus laid down His life for the sheep.

I also think of the passage in Matthew 15 in the verse where the disciples have come up to Jesus and asked HIM to have the Canaanite woman to leave them alone. Verse 23 of Matthew 15 is this: But he did not answer her a word. And His disciples came and implored Him, saying, Send her away, for she is crying out after us.
Actually the woman was crying out to Jesus, "Son of David". She never mentions the "disciples".
She was certainly crying out for Jesus.
The one who really knows the 'comforter" will regard Him as so. Those who see Him as their "Healer" will call it true!

The unfolding of the passage revealed that the Canaanite woman was a woman of faith.
She recognized His portion. She knew Him to be the "Messiah". Being called a "title" nailed her faith to what she believed in her heart to be in regards to Jesus being "what she needed".

It is true and evident when the thief appears. He will steal, kill and destroy.
He will steal your time, your family, and try to steal your life. He will kill your tomorrow, kill your ideas and destroy any thing you might have regarded as a real goal for your life. The thief will not care, but take you on a ride usually in pride or such a path that ends in tragedy.
But Jesus came to bring us life. He came to remind us what was spoken over us as babes. He reveals what He told us in dreams and He gives us glimpses as the rain washes the dust of yesterday and asks of past sorrows to be completely cleared away.

Seeing through the lens of God's Word reveals the "stranger" in our lives. Through that lens, we come face to face with righteous, holiness and redemption.(1 Corinthians 1:30)
That which brings real life, will bring a refreshing to you, a breath of fresh air, if you will. The real is seeing the beauty of Jesus and how He served others. Everyone wants to make a difference in their lives. Everyone wants a name and to be known. And to succeed in peace and love of God is the greatest thing I think anyone could participate in and with for God. Jesus was Jesus! But those who knew Him as the "MESSIAH" saw Him for Who He really was.

Being a "watchman" is watching out for the stranger. It is watching and staying close much like Habakkuk.
Hab 2:1-4
I will stand my watch
And set myself on the rampart,
And watch to see what He will say to me,
And what I will answer when I am corrected.

2 Then the LORD answered me and said:

"Write the vision
And make it plain on tablets,
That he may run who reads it.
3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time;
But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie.
Though it tarries, wait for it;
Because it will surely come,
It will not tarry.

4 "Behold the proud,
His soul is not upright in him;
But the just shall live by his faith.
NKJV

This prophet sets himself to hear. It was for the correction, counsel and comfort.
One who brings a "message" will be one who has the vision and the word for the appointed time. So in humbling himself, the prophet here in this is looking for that which the Lord would speak. Either to correct or just encourage should still incite "faith".

Our Shepherd will not walk out. He remains.
Cultivate a relationship with the MESSIAH. Cultivate a prayer life for hearing. Hirelings will continue to climb over walls, come into board meetings, disrupt town hall meetings, but going with God in your heart will set you to recognize His truth and help you speak against that which speaks as a lie.

People of faith recognize others of faith. The proud come and go. But the just will live by his faith. They will hear the good Shepherd speak. They the sheep will recognize and follow His direction. Taking the oracles of God, we view life through His lens. Viewing life through the lens of God's Word reveals to us and encourages growth in us to become all that He meant us to be for the future. May the richness of this Word of God hold you in comfort. For He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Coming to Him, we are directed always to His place on the Cross and the promise of His life in and through us. Amen.

Going Out to See

Are we going out to see, because we have to run errands? Are we going out to see, because we heard something going on? Or are we going out to see just because we can!
Luke 7:24-35
24 After John's messengers left, Jesus began to speak to the crowd about John: "What did you go out into the desert to see? A reed swayed by the wind? 25 If not, what did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes? No, those who wear expensive clothes and indulge in luxury are in palaces. 26 But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet. 27 This is the one about whom it is written:

"'I will send my messenger ahead of you,
who will prepare your way before you.'

28 I tell you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John; yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he."

29(All the people, even the tax collectors, when they heard Jesus' words, acknowledged that God's way was right, because they had been baptized by John. 30 But the Pharisees and experts in the law rejected God's purpose for themselves, because they had not been baptized by John.)

31 "To what, then, can I compare the people of this generation? What are they like? 32 They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling out to each other:

"'We played the flute for you,
and you did not dance;
we sang a dirge,
and you did not cry.'

33 For John The Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, 'He has a demon.' 34 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, 'Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and "sinners." ' 35 But wisdom is proved right by all her children."
NIV

Going out to see! Taking a real look in the here and now of protests, marches, and many gatherings with many speakers, it is quite an endeavor for those participating. But what did you go out to see?
You can hear all kinds of stories for going out to see! And sometimes those who want to go "see" find themselves in the middle of "harm's way"!

In the time of John the Baptist, people came to hear him speak. He spoke of the kingdom that had come. He talked of the one who was right behind him, and whose sandals he could not lace up.
John had a real relationship with God. He recognized Jesus when He came, and he proved to walk with faith much like Jesus. Severe indeed is the walk John had with the Lord. It cost him his head.
There is a day coming if you read the Bible and it's description of latter day happenings is detailed, but those who love God are the secure.
Those (people) who come in later after the tribulation has started, well, they will have a greater and straighter walk in salvation to walk, and yes, by reading that walk will cost greatly!
Yes, many speakers speak today. They call up marches, and more protests. And if they find no one listening, they keep moving till they find someone who will hear them. Peace will always look like peace done in peaceful ways. But chaos still presents more chaos and sometimes harm and great violence to some or to many people!

I came from a large family and that most of the siblings related to my dad all lived fairly close to one another. They lived in the same town for many years. For us, our family appeared as the 'black sheep" of that family. Not sure why that happened. They are awesome people. They worked hard just like we did. Well, we came to live there when the elder family leader was in poor health.  In that short time of high school period, we came to reside in the same town only to leave again. Our lives surely changed. And in the case of divorces, and of "grown" family,.......you would say "grown", proved our family did not exist in the way it had previous decades to 1970. And in that divorce, the family I knew was sent into 4 different directions.

In our married life, my husband and I encountered many moves. In our first years away from the "home" after our high school years, we encountered a couple of the big cities. And in that encounter we also encountered what would be: long lines of vehicles to get gas for a gas shortage that was on-going in the mid seventies. Then the meat cutters went on strike. And then around the meat cutter's "thing", the dairy folks followed suit. Yes, 4 a.m. it was to "be there" in line to put gas in car, only to leave there and get to the grocery store where crossing lines seemed endless just get to get that gallon of milk that was possibly delivered by "scabs"! NO, we did not call them that. And we certainly prayed for their safety, those men who kept working to deliver all milk products to the grocery stores of that great city. Yes there were those who continued to work, and deliver milk through all obstacles of picket lines, barriers, loud voices, mega phones and the such. Our daughter was barely two and we were making sure she had some meat and some milk. Of course, today giving anyone milk is hazardous. Many people have come to find that they have some kind of lactose intolerance. Well, we still have half and half served here. And it is good in hot cereal!

Going out to see is really living life! In any part of this great country, you can and will come in contact with the most fascinating people. But going out just to see what is going on can prove down right bad for some.  And in some cases, some may just get caught up in what is going on in that which goes viral on the Internet or on T.V.  Being sucked in by so many emotions flaring at once can prove so detrimental to many people.

Crossing those lines can mean life and death to some. Still in the time of Jesus, they faced many opportunities that was hazardous to the health of a person.  Taking sides is important in that we stay with Him Who created and planned. Holding firm to His hand and finding our place is vital. And in it we discover what is important and what is just passing. People can be so funny at times and then be so painfully hurt and so needy the next.
In writing this today, I think of those who hid out when Jesus had been resurrected and took His place in heaven. He appeared and was alive. He had to go into locked houses and rooms to get to the people who knew Him probably the best.
Men hid out when Jesus was put in the tomb. But a woman, Mary by name, came to push a big stone out of the way. Yet, when she arrived the stone was moved. Amazing how God helps you even in the midst of trials. Women were coming to wrap Jesus up, and His body was not found. Amazement! Yes. Problems.....for the military, yes.
Our finding peace in a chaotic world is only found in Jesus. Jesus came to get involved. He did not come to accommodate our culture. He did come to set up His kingdom.

In the time of John the Baptist you find a man on fire to preach about His coming. In that same mode, you find many coming to receive and ready tell others of the "same coming One".
Jesus and John knew the same kingdom. John recognized Jesus as the Coming One! And the religious community showed up to make a comment about it.
It was in the wilderness, it was rugged, and dusty. A river flowed through it and many a man, woman and child stepped into that icy water to "repent" for their sins.

When was the last "call" for repentance at your church? Does anyone talk about it anymore? Is it not a part of the service any more?
In raising families in this century, it will be done in detail that will bring praise to God and His name. Yes lines will be crossed. What barriers are across in your thoroughfare?
Lines must be crossed in those areas that present work at home and work outside. People must provide meals for their loved ones and cross lines that present maybe danger. And the woman, the mother will cross any barriers to keep children out of harm. And she will not deliberately send her child out to the mouth's of lions. A woman will do what it takes to protect the children.
In our way, we see it in prayer. We can reach so many with His Word. We can touch hearts in prayer today by just pleading the Blood of Jesus over our sisters and brother's in Christ. Going to look to find "danger", to find "the chaotic" is just wrong. Society involves a whole group of individuals with different backgrounds and different lives!

Whether it was stormy on the day you were born or just a sunny day should not matter what affects your life today. Many things can and will occur in our lifetimes. The oil glut hit the U.S. many times. But the 70's ring more of get in line at 4 am, please, than say the 80's ever did. Yet, I meet people from time to time that can tell me how they and theirs was impacted by something such as an oil glut in the eighties! At some point some lines were crossed.
But going out to take care of your own, is not about taking from anyone else. And in the case of Jesus and His body, well the gang showed up to wrap His body for burial. BUT IT WAS NOT NEEDED!

Jesus moved throughout the community and region to tell of His father's love and how people had to believe Him to be the One sent. Salvation was present!

John met the "travelers", he met the poor and possibly those inferior to the palace life IN THE CITY. In this "kingdom" Jesus considered those in the background, those considered as Mary Wallpaper, the hidden, the unwanted. The clearest evidence we have is that the religious men of that day refused the baptism John performed in the Jordan River. They were not giving up their positions to Jesus or John or anyone like them! YIKES!
ALL THEY NEEDED TO DO WAS CROSS A LINE FOR SALVATION AND LIVE FOREVER WITH JESUS!

Jesus concluded with this:
Luke 7:31-35
31 "To what, then, can I compare the people of this generation? What are they like? 32 They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling out to each other:

"'We played the flute for you,
and you did not dance;
we sang a dirge,
and you did not cry.'

33 For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, 'He has a demon.' 34 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, 'Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and "sinners." ' 35 But wisdom is proved right by all her children." NIV

For one group they desired the wedding party. They desired to party! For the other group, well, they came to mourn and be sorrowful, in (life) it is a funeral to them. For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine and they considered him demonic.
The amplified Bible has it this way: The son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, Behold, a Man Who is a glutton and a wine drinker, a friend of tax collectors and notorious sinners. Yet wisdom is vindicated (show to be true and divine) by all her children [their life, character, and deeds].

Joining with others to worship God is commanded in the Word. To join in bringing information is wonderful, but joining to bring chaos and death is not right, is not the given, and is not of God. God is peace and in His Light we will see light. And His light dispels darkness that may be covering our eyes.

I close with this. Had this dream: went into a church building. Was asked,"what can I do you for?"
And saw the young man had something like a rainbow color of match sticks in his hand.
I asked him, "what are you talking about?"
He responds raising up his match sticks...........and he was proud of those sticks.
Well, he said,  holding up a green stick. ""This is green for doing nothing.." "So with this color you should go and be seated in service."
He holds up the blue match stick. "With this, he said, "you have the 20 minute Message". "follow your way that way to the blue stick".
He then held the yellow........"this is for the Sunday School .....30 minutes now," "and you have worship, sprinkled with Word and song/giving.
"But I have only a few of the yellow sticks left. ' "I have three green sticks left and only one of the brown.........."that is for security".

"LOTS of the men like to grab the brown for security and walk the parking lot for an hour or two."
I replied, "really?"
Then he holds up another color. "ORANGE, yeah man, this is Worship". We have very few of those sticks left as well."
Then he holds the purple colored stick. "This is for prayer....before service and after service." We have lots of prayer sticks in purple!"

THEN HE URGES ME TO PICK A SPOT AND MOVE TO THAT PLACE!
Our going to church should not be exactly like going to war. It should NOT be like finding our niche' in just getting through a church service. CROSSING LINES is moving into areas the devil will not go. Crossing lines is about obeying God and doing it no matter how it sounds. AND IT WILL ALWAYS BE OF ORDER AND WITHOUT SWEAT AND WORRY.
IF you worry, then you must find more time to turn to God and fine tune your hearing. It is not about finding where the latest craze has hit the internet, but what you can do to pray for our community, our state and our nation to continue to become all that God intended and it is not to find the orange match stick of worship. Every step we take with God, every decision of our heart should be to influence others to partake in seeing and hearing God: not in rituals or with the "buds" but because we go to honor God where He desires us to be.
Wisdom is vindicated (show to be true and divine) by all her children [their life, character, and deeds]. To worship Him, is to be in spirit and in truth. Our life, our character, and our deeds will certainly shine out for we are on the Lord's side!
Are you on the Lord's side?

Unbelieving or Just Misbehaving

Summer always makes it mark on a year! If the tulips opening on a rainy day don't do anything for you, then the 4th of July Fireworks with the loud kaboom and bright lights and gunpowder smell might bring a smile to you and yours.

Was meditating on "a thought" today from the book of James. Unbelieving or Misbehaving.  From the passage of James 3, we look at the wise and understanding and those with good conduct. They are those who look to live by truth. They do not live by "just enough to get by with" but seeking to live in truth.
In looking at the book of James, we find this kind of wisdom of God to be a package deal. That is, wisdom is attached to His peace. And in looking at the word peace from James 3:17

James 3:13-18
13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. 14 But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. 15 This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. 16 For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. 17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. 18 Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.  NKJV

I was intrigued with this kind of 'PEACE'. AND IT COMES FROM GOD ALONE!

In that passage we find a peace that comes in communion time with God.(teaching on Voice of Prayer Youtube, title AUTHORITY: HIS WISDOM.) link below.
Meekness of wisdom is that which is one of a humble spirit. They seek the good in the Father. They seek another's thoughts to help man kind. In this communion time with the Father, one learns the attributes from God; like mercy, grace, like agape love and yes much more. For from our Father of Lights flows gifts. And in this love, we receive more of the Son of His love, the life of God is given, and the Holy Spirit displays His wealth of power within us. What a heavenly light, when God has given us in and through our communion time with Him, the greater creative flow of the Son's life into ours, that the Holy Spirit through us gives this display of a heavenly beauty. People will see and observe. Yes, much like that elaborate display on the 4th..........and all you had to do was walk into the "prayer closet" with God........!

We come to worship Him, and moving from the last sung note, last sung word, and a quietness falling over the congregation, we find a slower pace. We see in our walking back to our seat, is a slower walk, a wrapping of His Presence around myself, that the air is electrical with His power flowing past my ears of hearing.
In this display of His glory in us, there is no fading of lights. His beauty will always continue. The more we speak of God and His glory, praying for believer's, praying for our neighbor's, the more area of the sphere of influence we will see that we operate in. It comes by humbling: the more we humble ourselves, the more the flow of His presence through our lives, we continue to mature in and through Him.
In Jesus, we saw the ultimate picture of humility. Philippian 2:8 “And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to death- even death on a cross!” Ultimate picture of humility!    Matt 27:54 “ When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed, "Surely he was the Son of God!" The very Presence of God made manifest as a result of the submission of Christ's humility!

Asking and spending time with Him requires an open heart that is willing to be corrected and to move forward.
In the miraculous gift of the Cross, the Son went willing to His last moments doing the Father's will and with every ounce of trust in what the Father desired would be done on earth. In our daily walk are we just desiring to not believe, walk in unbelief and stumble forever with our lives ending much too soon? Or is it just the misbehaving: pretending I am only responsible for what I believe. We are responsible for what we have heard. Faith comes by hearing. And that hearing is about doing God's planned deeds.
We are not to live for ourselves. We do not live in Christ so that we may tell God what He must do, but we live for Christ, being pleasured to hear what God desires for us to do for the glory of His Son Jesus!   Teach us Oh Lord to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. (Psalm 90:12) Teach us Oh Lord to walk in Your truth (Psalm 86:11) Teach us Oh Lord Your ways so we may know You. (Exodus 33:13) Teach us to do Your will Oh God, knowing Your Holy Spirit will lead us on level ground. (Psalm 143:10) Teach us Oh God we pray. May we submit to You as students, coming willingly under Your submission. Forgive us, in Jesus name for all the times we have acted in arrogance. The times we have crossed the line with You, and have gone from humbly seeking You in prayer, to demanding things from You, or demanding You move at our command. You are mighty, Sovereign, Holy, Awesome, to be Revered. May we always come in a posture of humility and in fear and trembling, remembering Who we are coming before..the God of ALL Eternity..King of ALL kings,,,Lord of ALL lords. That You Yourself say, Isaiah 66:2 “This is the one I esteem: he who is humble and contrite in spirit, and trembles at My word.”

So very thankful for the Cross and so very happy not going to hell, but oh to shine gloriously for the Lord. Don't want to be listed with the "unbelieving", the misbehaving, but oh, to be labeled as those who shine for God. May we maintain His wisdom and His light moving through life in a sphere of influence that is packed with God's wisdom His peace and His love. Now that truly is a "thing" of beauty!
Shining bright for God and making peace with man every step of the way to glory is a personal thing.
The personal is offering time and fellowship with Him Who Created and He Who Made Us.
Because God is personal, all people can offer is prayer. However, sinners who have not trusted Jesus Christ for their salvation remain alienated from God. So while unbelievers may pray, they do not have the basis for a rewarding fellowship with God. They have not met the conditions laid down in the Bible for effectiveness in prayer.
It is Christians who recognize their dependence upon their Creator. They have every reason to express gratitude for God's blessings. But they have far more reason to respond to God than this. They respond to the love of God for them. God's love is revealed through the marvelous incarnation and life of Christ, His atoning provision at the Cross, His resurrection, as well as His continuing presence through the Holy Spirit.

Prayer cannot be replaced by good works in a needy world. Important as service to others is, at times we must turn away from it to God, who is distinct from all things and over all things. Neither should prayer be thought of as a mystical experience in which people lose their identity in the infinite reality. Effective prayer must be scripture based informed response of persons saved by grace to the living God. It is in our believing and adhering to that we gain His Wisdom and His peace. Spending time confessing His Word is prophesying to the walls, but to actually have conversation with a loving God, and to have Him answer you is like the 4th of July all year long.

Together may we seek Him, may we look to prayer for that one-to-one and may we hear Him speak above all else. Living for His glory is paramount, and experiencing His peace as we speak boldly His truth to others will show us that our future is bright and full of God's presence. Amen.

The Sum of our Lives

Is there a place devoted for God within our hearts and within our homes?
You can walk into someone's home and tell which is their favorite room.
At my husband's grandmother's abode, it was a beautiful home. It was well built, with beautiful wood. They were not the pretentious type of people. What you saw and heard in them, you got it! They would feed anyone dropping by just to say "hello". Their door was never locked, their kitchen table had another place set with plate and silverware, and just in case, there was an extra bedroom made up to accommodate the most wore out tiny travelers in the country.
What time of day determined the meal being served, but coffee was always available and as well as a good ear to hear.
They had time for the rich and the poor, the able and the disabled. They had time to talk tractors, the Dallas Cowboys and the weather if the need occurred when a sudden tornado came on the scene out their back door.
They never put on airs about their financial prosperity, nor of their own glory, but always looked to help a neighbor, refresh another person and then send them on their way.
It always seemed like the greatest place to be. The people would start to arrive especially when they heard' tiny travelers' had returned for one more visit. The people of all ages would come to gather, to meet family members, greet with a warm cup of cocoa or coffee and ask so many questions, that it seemed more like a ride on a merry go-round. Laughter would fill the room and the T.V. would be heard, BUT only if the Cowboys had scored another touchdown.
Nothing seemed more important at the time than just being together and spending time with those you love.
In writing this today, I became aware of what things we miss when we do not have them any longer. I seem to move more into a place of silence and in that silence, I can almost see through tear drenched eye's the room in a house located in the panhandle of Texas. Today most of the family of that two generations are gone. Other's own the lovely built home. And I wonder if they house the weary, if they invite "tiny traveler" to spend the night or have a friend over just to watch say "the Cowboys" play and maybe score another victory in sports.
What we devote our time to in our lives sums up who we really are in life!
What takes center "stage" within our homes and within our lives?
Do we think of others?

John 14:1-6
travele,

14:1 "Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. 4 And where I go you know, and the way you know." 5 Thomas said to Him, "Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?" 6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
NKJV

Jesus spoke about us not being troubled. That we are to believe in God and to believe in Him also. He told of these mansions and how He is preparing a place for "you". Is it "you" that He was mentioning here in John 14?
Was He thinking on "you" when He mentioned mansions.
He desires us to be where He is at.
Enraptured with life and the love of God, would not our homes and hearts reflect how much we really devote to Him?

What endures in the sum of our lives? What we do for Him and through Him should give a loud voice to whom we serve with our whole being. Through Jesus we continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise----the fruit of lips that confess His name. (Heb 13:14-25)
May the God of peace who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, equip us with  everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Have you talked with Jesus today? Have you asked about that "mansion" in heaven? And what might be the address?
Hopefully you are found "in His heart" daily. And in your asking remember to remind Him of what He has spoken in your past. Pay attention to when He is quiet, and wait to speak till you are fully aware you have His full attention. In asking Him into your life, He has not taken His eyes off of you. No, you are all that He sees.

Your "mansion" is ready! He calls you by name! No need to hurry, we still have time, the table is set, the food is prepared, and you will be His guest of honor. Not sure what beverage they will serve: hot chocolate or coffee, BUT FOR CERTAIN, YOU HAVE THE BEST SEAT IN THE HOUSE!
AMEN!

EMPTY WORDS OR USEFUL WORDS

I STAND IN AWE READING ABOUT THOSE EMPTY WORDS!
Ephesians 5:1-14

5:1 Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. 2 And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma. 3 But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints; 4 neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. 5 For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. 6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. 7 Therefore do not be partakers with them.

8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9(for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), 10 finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. 11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. 12 For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. 13 But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. 14 Therefore He says:

"Awake, you who sleep,
Arise from the dead,
And Christ will give you light."
NKJV

We are not to  be deceived. Empty WORDS are bad!
The main thought though is for us to WAKE UP! Awake you who sleep, arise from the dead and Christ will give you light.
Imitating God is good, right? In that I walk in love that Christ has loved me and you with. When they mention that disobedience in verse 6....that is "unbelief".
So they are talking about those in "unbelief". They do not have any belief in God.

In the latter days as in reference to the Tribulation time, we are reminded that many will turn from the belief or trust in God. There is a day coming when many will turn from the "faith" in God. We are to "know" His Word. We are to hear "his heart speak" to our hearts. We should be infused with the Holy Spirit knowing that in Him, we move in power of God. Standing in right standing with Him, we are those who have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness. We are to expose them for what they are: the work of the enemy.
Filling our hearts with His Word declares we are the victor in the day to come. We stand as those who have an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. Jesus Christ will light you with His glory, and darkness dispelled means you have peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. That LIGHT is making visible everything you must see clearly. No more stumbling in the dark. We choose wise words that the Lord has directed us to. Our path is clear and is seen. It is where the hilly becomes level. The weary become the rested. Finding Jesus is the best thing possible. The yoke is easy and the burden is light. Amen. Matthew 11:28-30)

Looks Like Praise, But This is NOT NORMAL

Isaiah 35:5-7
5 Then will the eyes of the blind be opened
and the ears of the deaf unstopped.
6 Then will the lame leap like a deer,
and the mute tongue shout for joy.
Water will gush forth in the wilderness
and streams in the desert.
7 The burning sand will become a pool,
the thirsty ground bubbling springs.
In the haunts where jackals once lay,
grass and reeds and papyrus will grow.
NIV

Thinking of the eyes of blind being opened and ears unstopped so that we might actual hear God's Word, wow, what a wonderful picture of one coming into that place of praise.
I may not venture too far from my bed, but I find praise there. A Dr.'s report may be all one may hear, but God has some things to say about it as well.
Allowing God access to speak at our situations, speak within our bedrooms and even in the garage, we find His Word alive in us doing life. We find ourselves on the most absolute beautiful adventure ever and God called it "Shelley's life". Of course, you have a different life..........at least it should be different than mine or we would be living the same life. And yet Jesus in us is the Hope we need and desire.
The report for the week or month may appear long, lonely and with out much hope, but keeping God within ear shot is evidence to me, that I know He hears, and He has never left me nor forsaken me. Yes, the moments can come when a strange report is spoken and may cause chains to drag against you and on you day after day, but God has not forgotten His promises to us. He has not forgotten the Son of His love. He will surely see you delivered from that which ails you. Understand that you are not your own, but bought with a price.
He was walked through a city with a Cross on His shoulder, but he had to have had some help in the man who helped Him carry it to Gogatha. He was put in a tomb, but it came up empty. That which came to hold him down could not do it.
For what has haunted your life to this date is stopped now In the MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS. What has been caused by another of hurt and pain, abusive and battering words are stopped now in His Name. For truth is shining in the darkness and what was created by the enemy to keep you down and isolated is being removed. What has been a barrier of many walls like a maze around you is being dissolved instantly. For the first time in 40 years you will see and understand clearly that the Lord has been with you. All instances of generational curses is removed forever from you. You run with a focus of the fire of God that is in your bones. YOU will go in His power of the Holy Spirit and you will be forever marked the one who knew God and believed......with a trust that God is in the little things as well as the big things.
Your life could be titled: ONE BIG LIFE WITH GOD ALONE!

STANDING  as in sand, we see the wet sand that seems to expand as the water rushes, and reaches to touch all the dry places of the sand. Moving our toes within the sand, and make it move, the water takes over those low laying places in the sand. Then the water moves in. On those hot days, the cool sand is nice early on in the day, but as the heat bears down through the afternoon  hours, the sand takes on a heat to the feet that makes it unbearable. Adding cool water to the mix then one can see a mud form. But if the water is large enough and keeps adding the dry sand to the mix, wet is all one sees.
They say from the historical view of Elephants in Africa, that the mother elephant will heard her young through two nights of travel in the Hot African desert. She will move them to an area that is teeming with predators who will attack the young elephants and take them from the herd quite rapidly. But the mother urges them through. She nudges them, she speaks in low tones through her trunk and she takes them to water. Oh, it is not the water running stream, but some gently push of her hoof to sand, she arranges it deeper and deeper into the sand till water is running, yes bubbling up through the hot sand of the desert.
She has them nourished in the cool water. Shows them to wash with it. And then she leads them on to the feeding pastures. She heads for the coast.
God has the cool waters to reside in. God has the peace of His Word to surround us if we would only apply it to our lives. He has the comfort of bringing us to the place we would rest and be comforted. If you are not in that place, then run to the nearest place to find that place of comfort in God and reside in the place He will feed you His Word. Delight in Him and He will bring you the desires of your heart.
God is for you. He has never left you, and the place your reside looks like praise to me. Remember this is a journey, and we have eternity to learn it all with Him guiding us all the way home. Oh love to our brothers and sisters in the Lord. Amen.
